Only reachable by boat, the brand-new property is spacious and completely surrounded by nature. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book?If you’re already going to go to the trouble of getting to an island, you might as well splash out for one of the bi-level luxury suites, with their high ceilings, hardwood floors, and full kitchens. Whatever you book, the beds will be outrageously comfortable, and glass-enclosed showers complement the granite-topped bathroom vanities. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?Wi-Fi is free of charge. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?There are few options here, which is good, because there aren't a ton elsewhere on the island. The lobby bar and cafe serves casual fare; Cabana Bar serves poolside cocktails. If you venture off the property, Diamond’s Edge next door serves all the pastas, steaks, and baked stuffed lobster one could ever want. And the service? The guest services team is professional and well-equipped. Anything stick out about the neighborhood?Great Diamond island—at least this part—is car free, so everyone gets around on golf carts. I'm hesitant to wrote this review because this places has managed to be somewhat of a well kept secret, but this hotel is pretty wonderful. We had a huge king suite which was perfect with our kiddo. A kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast in room each morning and start the mornings off at a leisurely pace. The pool was wonderful for swimming and meeting other guests. We walked around a bit and noticed how beautiful the island is. We really enjoyed Diamond Edge restaurant as it had a great selection of choices and portion sizes were great relative to prices. Crown Jewel, I have to agree with some other reviews, was extremely pricey for what you get. Food overall is a going to be more expensive at a resort and especially on an island, so we were prepared. We also brought food with us to allow for ease of snacking and breakfast in the room. There is a small store where you can purchase some essentials as well. The resort has a lot of families. We saw this as a bonus as we brought our child. I agree with the assessment that it reminded us if Dirty Dancing. A resort with a summer camp feel with very friendly, helpful folks ready to assist. All around wonderful stay, we will be back!

My wife and I spent the weekend for our first anniversary. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the bartender Fernando who entertained us with stories of life in Columbia. The lobby cafe was fair and waits were long. The servers were very nice and worked very hard to keep up. They do seem terribly understaffed like many in the hospitality industry are. But despite that, we loved our stay. The tour of the island with its military history was so informative. Charles was a delight to spend a few hours with!! The Crowned Jewel was delicious. We had some lovely small bites and great craft cocktails. We ate at the bar at Diamonds Edge also. The bartender was great and gave some good suggestions for things to do while on the island. Would go back. Hopefully some day servers will be paid their worth and things will run more smoothly.

What a gem in Casco Bay! Our rooms were very nice, clean and good sheets and pillows. The walking trails are lovely with wooded areas and pretty views of the water. Some of the trails are blocked as private property. There are no cars on the island so it is very tranquil. Good for a 3 day stay. The island was home to post Civil War Fort McKinley. Some of the old installations are visible which is interesting.

I cannot speak more highly of this incredible Inn tucked away off the coast of Portland. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Every single detail of our long weekend stay was impeccable; the staff is so kind, thoughtful and caring, the food was amazing and the grounds of the Inn are beyond lovely. Book your stay now before everyone finds out about how fabulous the Inn at Diamond Cove is and you can't get in! THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR WEEKEND PERFECT!

This was such a great weekend escape for a few days and so close to home! It gave me and my boyfriend a chance to unplug and relax. Make sure you look at the directions the inn sends you for the how to get there and back and plan ahead. Once we had that planned, everything else was easy! The room was so comfortable, and walking around the island there were so many cute spots to explore.

We were enamored by the whole experience. Erik and all other staff were so incredibly kind, thoughtful and accommodating. I've never really done a vacation repeat, but we would LOVE to come back here. Stellar room, gorgeous lobby, and the whole island just feels surreal. Despite how imposing the gates splitting the island look, you are free to roam the whole thing and I would recommend you do.

Stayed opening weekend! It was SO relaxing. The Inn was clean, the food was great and pool was crystal clear. Enjoyed time biking the Island and reading a few books with a beverage ( or two ) by the pool. Exactly the escape we needed. We have already booked again for September.

For the price, it is a bit disappointing. While the island is very relaxing, the hotel is very short staffed. At breakfast, the only waitress was working her first day and the food was… disappointing as a result. The eggs were scrambled instead of sunny side up and the sausage was cold. The bar had no bartender, so whoever was working the front desk had to also serve bar patrons. Also, weirdly, the coffee was free on Thursday and was not free on friday.
