Inn at the Mission is a gorgeous property, centrally located and right up the block from the Mission San Juan Capistrano. We stayed three nights, visiting for a wedding. After having delayed flights, we rushed in, and were promptly checked in, and then driven in a golf cart over to the wedding venue, arriving just in the nick of time. All members of the staff were accomodating and always with a smile. The rooms were gorgeously appointed, with comfortable beds and high-end bathrooms. We enjoyed cocktails at the main bar, and while I do not remember his name, the bartender was very friendly and engaging, and drinks were wonderful! Highly recommend the Inn at the Mission!

Make sure you bring your reservation number with you or else you’ll get turned away. It would have been nice if they offered some assistance or advice as to how to obtain the number but alas, I figured it out on my own. On the upside, the property was beautiful & the room was very nice. The employees were all very nice. The room was very quiet which was great for sleeping. Room service was timely…unfortunately the food was cold, they did not include any utensils and the chef apparently used the same knife & cutting board to cut onions AND then cut the fruit, which is a culinary no no. Onion flavored bananas & strawberries are not my fav :-/

Room was lovely, great size, comfy beds. Poor lighting overall. Service for food was really poor, cold food, no spoons for sugar or cream, not anticipating needs, we asked for everything, wine great and nice pour but we'll drinks were very watery. Location was great. Could walk most anywhere, however being on the "mission view" side was both noisy from street traffic and property noise (started mowing and blowing at 7:15 am on a Saturday.)

We’re OC locals and the Inn at the Mission is one of our favorite spots for a quick weekend getaway. The hotel is centrally located, everything is within walking distance. The property is beautiful, and the rooms are just as stunning; elegant, comfortable, and well-designed. One of our favorite things to do is grab a drink from the bar and relax in the courtyard under the olive trees, right by the fire pit, next to the water fountain. It’s peaceful, cozy, and the perfect way to unwind. Whether you're visiting from out of town or just need a staycation, this place delivers a luxurious and relaxing experience.

I just celebrated a milestone birthday at the Inn with my family and had the most delightful time thanks to the super hospitable, friendly, and thoughtful team of staff at the hotel. The managers and staff I interacted with -- especially Lorenzo, Taylor, Bahar, and Connor -- took care of me and my family with attention, generosity and kindness beyond anything I experienced elsewhere. They are simply the best! The hotel itself is amazing, too. The grounds are beautiful, the food and drinks at Ysidora and the Cafe are excellent, the Spa is top-notch, and it's located perfectly (right next to the Mission right in the heart of the town). Thank you for making my special day unforgettable!

I’m extremely saddened and disappointed with the management of Inn at the Mission. Their lack of integrity and customer service is appalling. I would strongly caution anyone against supporting a business that prioritizes a falsely claimed policy over basic decency. A gift card was purchased for a local nonprofit, but when it was unfortunately lost, the hotel refused to honor it—even though their system confirmed it had not been redeemed. We were able to show proof of purchase, all receipts , and that included the gift card number. During an in person visit a front desk staff member (who contrary to their manager attempted to be of help) was able to bring up the giftcard on their system, verifying it was purchased and not used. So managements claim of being unable to verify the giftcard balance was a blatant lie. I honestly wonder how some of these people sleep knowing they are essentially taking money from a nonprofit that serves cancer patients! We have so many incredible and beautiful hotels in our community that value doing the right thing, I would rather give my business to those businesses. This was money given in good faith to support a charitable cause, yet the hotel leadership had no issue effectively stealing it without any attempt at compromise. We have given this hotel business multiple times and been great customers to this local hotel. It is unfortunate that their moral compass is lacking. Given the opportunity to do the right thing, they have chosen not to. Extremely sad circumstances to reveal a morally bankrupt management team.

I booked a massage with Mikki during our baby moon stay. Honestly, I just wanted to relax a bit. But what I got was pure magic. Her hands knew exactly where I was hurting. I’ve had prenatal massages at top hotel spas, but nothing comes close. I walked out floating. Every expecting mom needs a Mikki.

This is an average Marriot. Rooms are fine, main lobby is fine, bar is fine. The reason for the one star, as others have mentioned, is that after check-in they tell you that they are going to charge you an unadvertised $40 resort fee per room per day (in our case 2 rooms so $80/day) that they then try to justify by saying you can use it as a credit against their incredibly overpriced food and drinks. Also, they only allow valet parking at $55/day (no self parking option) - they actually gate off a huge, mostly empty lot behind the hotel and force the valet parking. Street parking in the area is minimal so they can hold you hostage for this. If they advertised the true cost of the room (+$95/day) I wouldn't have a problem - I can then decide if I want to stay at that price or not - its the fact that they advertise a lower price then force the extra fees on you when you arrive that is not acceptable.

Yelp
We stayed here 2 nights for a friend's wedding and had a great experience. The only downside is the valet is mandatory as there is no self parking and it is prettt pricey ($40/day). The staff were very courteous and helpful. There are a lot of perks, such as an included $40/day credit for food/drinks at the hotel/café, two hour complementary beach cruiser rental, and free tickets to the Mission next door. They also will give you a ride in their cushy golf-carts if you are going somewhere closeby within 5 min. We took advantage of pretty much all the perks. In addition, the room was lovely and there are filtered water stations on either end of all floors, making it so easy to stay hydrated. When we needed towels, the phone in the room was not working but I called the front desk from my cell phone and the towels were delivered in a couple of minutes. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
We were staying here for a wedding not too long ago. We were fortunate enough to be dropped off to the hotel, so didn't need to pay for any parking while here. The location itself is quite convenient, right off Interstate 5, but also walking distance to plenty to the town center, including the Mission. Just like many-a-other upscale Marriott properties, including the Autograph collection, this one offers an F&B Credit of $40/day per room. We stayed two nights, so we had to use the $40 by the end of the first night and the remainder could be used across the next day + checkout. Little weird process, but I guess it's par for the course. Being here for a wedding, it took some effort to maximize the $40 on the first night. However, we were able to use the $40 pretty easily at breakfast the next morning. The F&B can be used at the Cafe at the Mission and not just at the Ysidora. This was good because I didn't really see much in the way of service at the hotel restaurant. So, about that wedding.... we had the wedding itself in the courtyard, where there was already a stage setup. Really nice area to have a wedding.... I think the crowd was about 200 people max. Behind it was a fire pit and decently size area for cocktail hour plus a banquet hall for the reception. All these buildings keep the integrity of the Mission and the town so that's pretty cool, I think. Feels like a mini-resort in some ways. As for the hotel itself, it isn't anything otherworldly. That's a theme of most Marriotts in the US, I figure. Pretty tight space. I heard the villas look pretty nice though. Probably won't be back here unless there's a wedding or important event, but I understand the appeal.

Yelp
Nice hotel and staff. The staff's courtesy was my favorite part. We checked in the night of our wedding and were upgraded to a "view room" of the mission but did not spend much time on the balcony. We used our two free room annual credits on this stay since this is a Marriott brand hotel. The valet is $57/ night, along with a $40 resort fee. However, we received two breakfast vouchers for $25 and two food credits of $40/ day. Unfortunately, we were a bit under the weather, so room service came in clutch so we could relax. We were able to venture out for a couple of hours, walk the historic area, and have lunch. This is such a cute part of Orange County, it felt that we were somewhere else for a moment which we love. A lot of tourists were out for the holiday week. The beds were comfy, the Nepresso machine was great, and the filtered water in the hallways was convenient. The front desk also provided water when you asked. They started decorating for the holidays already so that was nice to see also. The restaurant and cafe were good! We ordered the American breakfast, churizo burrito from the cafe. For dinner, we ordered salads, and flatbread pizza. All was great! Room service stops at 10 p.m.

Yelp
My cousin held their wedding ceremony here and the venue was incredibly beautiful and overall a nice view. Definitely will come back for a stay if we're in the area again.

Yelp
My husband planned a lovely overnight spa package at the Mission Inn at San Juan Capistrano. This was hands down the best stay I've ever had at a hotel. The service was top-notch from check-in to check-out, and we couldn't have been more thrilled for this getaway weekend. We had early check in at 11 AM and took the Amtrak from the Fullerton station. It was approximately a 40-minute ride, and the hotel was just a short 7-minute walk from the train station. The area has plenty of shops and eateries; we felt very safe walking around. Upon opening the door to the hotel lobby, you're hit with the smell of luxury. I believe Michael helped check us in, and I've never had such superb service. He was so nice, and we felt special because he knew details of our stay without really having to look it up. I briefly mentioned that their lobby smelled amazing, and he took me right to their gift shop and gave me a candle of their signature scent, wishing me a happy birthday. He really went the extra mile to make this a memorable trip for me. Michael went over all the details of our stay, gave an overview of the property, and gave us a complimentary tasting of their bread and house-made olive oil. We were also excited that they gave us two free admission tickets to the mission, which is a short 5-minute walk from their property. Our room was on the first floor, right in front of the pool. There were double doors that opened up to a gorgeous private patio. You could see the pool, but the patio was covered with bushes, making it a great spot to have your morning coffee. The room had a Nespresso machine, and they provided a water glass you could fill at the water filling station on your floor, which is very ecofriendly. We had a two-queen bedroom, and the bedding and pillows were phenomenal. So comfortable, and everything felt very clean and well-kept. About a half hour after our check-in, my husband surprised me with a charcuterie delivery, which came with a San Pellegrino bottle and personal bottle of wine. It was gorgeous outside, so we took the charcuterie board and lounged by the pool to munch on our snacks. The TV set up was great because we could log into some streaming services like HBO, Netflix, and I believe Hulu was on the list. You were also able to cast your phone to the TV, but we had brought our Apple TV in case. We plugged our Apple TV right in, and it worked well. We had the intent to utilize their gym, which was equipped with excellent treadmill, biking, and weight equipment (some of which were by Peleton), but we slept in the next morning. We took advantage of the on-site spa and the Ysidora restaurant. Both were excellent, but I'll review those separately on their Yelp page. I highly recommend splurging on a stay at this hotel. The property is gorgeous, there is plenty to do, and you will be greatly taken care of by the staff. I've never encountered a staff that went above and beyond like those at the Mission Inn at San Juan Capistrano. I'll definitely be back here.

Yelp
Enjoyed a holiday party here! The food was excellent! There is an adorable Christmas light display/photo opp. Beautiful event venue!

Yelp
We stayed here on Christmas Eve and it was fine. But unfortunately we valeted my car around 11pm and when we picked it up at 6:45am to get to Christmas morning early, the car had every single warning light on. In that short time, RATS ATE THROUGH THE ENGINE WIRING IN MY CAR. $2800!!! So...don't use the valet. ridiculous and frustrating. also terrifying to think if the rats may be getting inside....

Yelp
This beautiful hotel met all my expectations during our stay as we celebrated our 10th anniversary. It's a very romantic hotel that was a perfect place to stay for a weekend get away for myself and husband. We stayed in a king studio suite. The room is small but very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Although they weren't able to accommodate my platinum elite request to upgrade they did offer a $25 credit to their cafe. The hotel is perfectly located walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Visited this beautiful place and had a massage booked. The spa is nice. The waiting area is small, but the balcony is spacious. It's nice to sit up there and decompress.

Yelp
Just book it.... this place is extraordinary and just so beautiful! We got the fire pit and it was so nice! The property is very charming, well maintained as are the rooms and all the amenities. But most importantly, how can you beat the location? You are literally in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. Steps away from all the amazing restaurants in the historic and oldest neighborhood in CA; Los Rios. You can just walk around and get lost in this charming neighborhood....worth every penny! Btw, very kid friendly too.

Yelp
Oh look at that! Parking is up to $55/day. What a complete scam. This is San Juan Cap, not downtown SF or LA. Get a grip.

Yelp
We stayed @ Inn at Mission SJC this past weekend for our sons wedding. We had amazing time. Front staff was so helpful/kind and more importantly attentive. The valet staff went above and beyond with our cars. We appreciate Cole parking our big truck full of wedding decor in front. Lastly the ambiance and fragrance was breathtaking! Thank You making our stay memorable.

Yelp
Beautiful property!!! I was impressed !! We took my Mom here to experience the San Juan Capistrano Mission next door. It was sweet they offered us a short golf cart ride over since she is limited in her ability to walk. We appreciated that. Anyway, the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is clean and well taken care of. We had a small issue, but it was taken care of right away by the staff. Thank you to the staff especially Amie, Jasline, Luke who took great care of us. Highly recommend this place and look forward to future visits.

Yelp
My first time staying at this property. I checked in February 19 and stayed one night for a solo staycation. I am very impressed by the first look of this property as I drove in. It's beautiful and very hacienda style look. It's right off the freeway which is super easy to find (almost missed the entrance !) , and it's valet parking only. Yes valet parking is steap at $45 a night, but that's kind of the going rate in the area from $35-$45. It's crazy expensive but all parking costs have gone up in the area From the valet service, front desk, house keeping, and room service, the staff is friendly, professional, and makes you feel special. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the bar/ restaurant hostess and staff. At 5 o'clock this restaurant opens and also food is starting to be served if you sit at the bar. so they have indoor bar that you can sit at the bar top, or a huge lounge inside. So she said I could sit anywhere and when I first started sitting inside , there was no one to be found to get my order for probably like 10 minutes. And then I realize that there was sitting outside for the bar so I went outside in such a nice day, and unfortunately nobody came there either so I had to go inside sit at the bar top. What am I drinking food and then move outside. So once they serve me, staff was very attentive and friendly! but I think they need to be a little more attentive to people that in the area of wanting to order a drink and food if they're not sitting at the bar top. But the food and drinks! Wow! Delicious mocktail and yummy hummus!! If staying at property you can do a free olive and olive oil tasting, and this is the best olive oil ever had, regret not buying a bottle of the olive oil. It was lovely. The ambience has a restaurant in the bar is super nice. I love the outside seen the best. They have string lights and fortunately it was a really nice weather. So I had a great experience once I was served. So I got a king size with a view hotel room. It was a lovely. I had a balcony that had a view of the mission which of very quaint. And even though the freeway is close by, I never heard the freeway obviously if the close doors were closed and even if you were sitting outside, I didn't bother me much. The room had some really great amenities and the bed was super comfortable, the shower was great, very clean, and I love the Hacienda Style. I also ordered room service which was great as I didn't have to wait long. I got the salad, fries, and apple cinnamon churros. Now the presentation wasn't amazing because it kind of was in a to go box for maybe this is because it's post Covid times. But I would love to sit at a restaurant and see it properly displayed. The food was fantastic. One of the best things about this property is that it's walking distance to the heart of San Juan Capistrano. Since it was a nice day, I walked over and had some lunch and then if you stay here, another perk is that they get two tickets to go to the mission. I haven't been since I was a kid, so I went to the mission and did a tour which is so nice. Another thing is that they have a little cute car that can take you into town if you don't want to walk. They will pick you up too! It's such a great perk! Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to check out the spa, but I will be back to do that! And because I didn't know the weather gonna be so warm surprisingly, I didn't bring a bathing suit to go into the pool, but I did check it out and sat there enjoying the view and weather. There are cabanas, there is a Jacuzzi, and it's just really really nice. Overall, I have to say that this property is pretty amazing and I will definitely be staying here again. I felt very very relaxed.

Yelp
$25 martini? What is this, Vegas? Dirty, Chopin vodka martini with 2 bleu cheese olives goes for...yes...$25 a piece. This is greedflation plain and simple. You guys have overplayed your hand, and my bet is that the market will respond accordingly. Ambience is nice, bar is classy, food is pretty good, live music is a nice touch, but none of that justifies a $25 martini. I could rattle off a list of alternatives with comparable / better atmosphere, preferable pricing (albeit not that much less expensive), and higher quality martinis. For starters: 1) Selanne's 2) Harvest @ The Ranch 3) Gulfstream (however, only has goat cheese stuffed olives for some reason) 4) Side Door 5) Coastal Kitchen I suggest you drop your prices by 25-30%, issue a heartfelt apology to your customers via email-delivered promotional coupon and rejoin the ranks of ordinarily high-margin watering holes (vs. an attempt at generating avariciously-high margins via your bar). Until then, I'm out.

Yelp
This charming hotel hosts an olive oil tasting event on the 2nd Thursday of every month. For a modest fee (paid via Eventbrite), I got to learn all about the Nuvo Olive Oil brand while enjoying a unique tasting menu. Apparently every boutique hotel under the Marriott umbrella has a "mark", and the mark for this one is mission olives (which are considered California native). Did you know quality olive oil doesn't have a greasiness or leave a film on the tongue? And the first thing one should look for when picking an olive oil isn't a dark bottle, 1st press, cold-pressed, etc... it's the harvest date! Always start with the harvest date- it should be within the last three years. I came home with the hotel's "everyday/basic use" oil plus a plethora of other items- I was already aware of olive oil added in ice cream and cake, and today I discovered it can be used in drinks such as cocktails and smoothies. Thank you Josh from Nuvo, and Mission Inn, for this stunning, generous, masterpiece of an event. Pros: - location and ambience - near the bar for those who care - near lots of parking - close to the train station! - very friendly - near other activities (read: cute date idea) Cons: - n/a

Yelp
This is a review of just the pool and services there. *** Tl;Dr: you'll probably be ignored so plan on going inside to ask for towels or drinks/food. Pool water quality is questionable. This is my 4th stay at this hotel, first time at the pool area. In previous visits I had heard that there was no food/beverage offerings in that area yet. So I asked before heading out and the front desk said they had staff out there now and a small menu. I had purchased $20 sunscreen at the front desk, but it would have been nice to know the pool has free SunBum 30 and 50 SPF poolside by the towels. The area was crowded with almost every "free" lounge occupied. (Almost half are "reserve for a fee" lounges) There was a bridal group spread out in the first few "free" chairs, and they also had towels laid out on the pool deck edge with their drinks and belongings spread on them, blocking anyone from easily walking through. They did have "cabanas" on the west side of the pool, but not one was occupied. And the "cabanas" are just regular lounges but with a curtain between each set for privacy, I assume. I couldn't see any other differences. (Cabanas are 10am-6pm $255 after tax and come with a $200 food/beverage credit) I sat on the south end of the pool and looked around for staff to place a drink order. I saw a couple of young uniformed women walking around and figured they'd make their way over to me but they didn't. I waited about 25 mins before I gave up and would just head inside to order from the bar. I bumped into one of these young women on the way in and said "oh hi, can I order a drink from you" and she said "yeah what's your room number?" I told her and ordered a drink. Went back to my lounge chair. (The long way around because of the bridal group) It's been about a half hour at this point and decide to open the umbrella, not seeing any staff to help, I did manage to get it open. It was a hot day and several people were in the water. I noticed the pool water was cloudy; a pretty good sign that the chlorine or pH is off, and bacteria is present in harmful amounts. I also noticed 2-3 black cocktail napkins drifting along the bottom. I also couldn't help but notice the people in the pool standing around drinking their cocktails and no one was seen getting out to use the facilities. After about 20 mins my drink arrived and it was fine. Kinda small for $18 but yeah it's a resort so...expected. I lounged for another hour and the pool attendants still never came by. I noticed the they were pretty much just taking care of the bridal group or chatting between themselves in the shade and not checking on any other groups. I saw another group at my end of the pool and they were repeatedly going inside to order refills on drinks. The couple next to me left and a after a few minutes a new couple came over to ask if the lounges were open. I said yes. They were looking for the staff to change the wet and used lounge covers but didn't find anyone so they pulled them off the selves and put towels down. The man was then getting annoyed after 30 mins or so; he couldn't find anyone to help with his umbrella or put in an order. I said he should go inside to place an order as the staff is ignoring everyone besides the bridal group. They waited but then left annoyed no one came over. Needing to leave soon to get ready for dinner, I left and would go checkout at the bar (since the women were nowhere to be found) I was at the bar no longer than 3 minutes before one of the women found me sitting there and asked if I had ordered the drink earlier, and said yes. I'm also getting some drinks to take up to the room for my husband and I and would add my one drink to the tab. She said it would be "better" if she cashed me out for the pool drink. So she returned with the slip and a pen, and I signed. I usually tip well, but after over 2 hours at the pool and NO service, I left none. The bartender was friendly and made a fanastic cocktail. He received both his and her tip.

Yelp
Back to the days of true five star service! Everything was extraordinary. The associates were extremely attentive and 99% of the staff provided impeccable, flawless service. Kudos to: The valet staff, including Peter, Sina, and Arman; the front desk: Fabio, Tyler, Adam, Victoria; and the bar/dining staff including Joey, Cole, Cameron and Meghan. Btw- The other one percent of staff provided standard very good service. What a great place to visit, enjoy and feel like you're at home. We can't wait to return. Superlative in every way possible. Management took considerable time and care clearly for training, and the staff truly enjoys their jobs and working with the clientele. Nice to see young people caring and exceeding expectations.

Yelp
This hotel is exactly what it looks like in photos: very clean, modern, and better than your average Marriot. The customer service here is amazing and the employees definitely love their jobs and take pride in making their guests happy. On the other hand: I did have a couple parts of the experience I don't agree with so much. First off: as everyone mentions, $45 for parking? You're already paying a pretty penny for your room... so $45 per night extra just seems very steep. It almost kept me from staying here. Also, I booked the hotel through Expedia (third party) and paid for it in full. Nonetheless, the hotel charged me the room amount again on the card I left on file for the parking + $25 destination fee. So I was double charged and now have to wait for it to hopefully clear. Its very inconvenient to have another $500 taken out of your account and hope it comes back in 5-7 days... especially when that was supposed to be your spending money for the trip... made me pretty sad actually... I had worked hard to save enough to come and try this beautiful hotel and visit the city as a surprise for my husband & our anniversary, and now had to scramble for "free" things to do around town. Overall the hotel is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and they definitely tried to help. But alas, being charged so much money for a one-night stay, and having them double charge me (supposedly by accident) limited what I was able to do during my stay. I would love to come back someday, but definitely scared of the financial stress it may cause again.

Yelp
Their event planner Taylor Apperson, is AMAZING! We hosted a birthday dinner at the hotel restaurant and Taylor went above and beyond to make sure it was a memorable evening! She was super responsive, flexible and accommodating! Her energy is such an asset to the Marriott team! I will book my next event there because of Taylor! Thank you Taylor for helping us create an epic evening for me and 30 of my girlfriends!

This is North County's best kept bargain find with the most unique experience! (Literally y'all they should be charging 100-150% more for this event.) Via Eventbrite, $20.85/ticket gets you a crash course in California Olive Oil from Nuvo which is based in Long Beach. The grove is located in Norther California in a small town about an hour NE of Sacramento called Oroville. It is a 125yr old grove now owned and operated by two Michigan raised brothers (who came to their senses and joined us here in California LOL JK--kind of)--Josh and Nate. Their website is Nuvooliveoil.com should you want further info. Nuvo is the dedicated purveyor for The Inn at San Juan Capistrano for all things olive oil AND balsamic vinegar. This event was hosted by Josh (owner) and Justin (trusty side kick and olive oil aficionado) , with special chef de Cuisine Danielle. First came the olive oil tasting with six to try. All were amazing and there was something for everyone! The oils were then paired with balsamic and it's amazing how various balsamics can completely change the flavor profile and bring out the star of the olive oil. During this tasting there is a special curated alcohol based drink included. Should you be a non-drinker, simply ask for a virgin. It was glorious! Next up was a 4 course tasting (come hungry y'all, Danielle is honestly on par with some of those fancy restaurants in the Napa Valley region--not joking). I wish the lighting had been better for pictures, but the sun was going down and honestly pictures wouldn't have done this menu justice. First course was a charcuterie board with balsamic drizzles on cheeses and fruits. Second course was a cauliflower purée (drizzled with EVOO which completely changed it's flavor FOR THE BETTER--elevation at its finest). Third course was a salad dressed with EVOO. And the final course was a sorbet with balsamic caviar and olive oil cake. (Literally, $20. I can't even. I wish an option for tipping out Danielle was available.) After the event there is an option to purchase EVOO and balsamic. (They DO have the ability to take Apple Pay.) Parking was easy (street). The event was held in the courtyard by the Ysidora. Bathrooms are inside the restaurant and accessible for handicap. (Duh, right? But good to mention. The stall itself has a full blown door, so those in chairs or mobility units could find it cumbersome.) The courtyard does get cold once the sun goes down--bring a lightweight sweater or something this time of year. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS EVENT OUT. Literally something I'd never tried or even thought about trying. Thank you Yelp and Nuvo for promoting and hosting this event! ***The next event is 12 May 2022.***

Yelp
Great place - I needed an overnight stay since I was going to the Coach House to see Kiefer Sutherland perform ( yes, he sings! and plays guitar fabulously!) Check in - very easy. Besides the room charge, they charge $45/day for valet parking and an additional $25 for resort fee but the $25 is refunded if you use for breakfast or dinner at the hotel. There is a olive oil tasting for 2 in the hotel bar. Room- very clean. Oddly, the small lotion was completely empty and I called the front desk and they replenished our bath products. The room had a balcony that faced the Freeway, which was an upgrade- I was going to request to move to another room, but remained in the room since the room was soundproofed and I only heard the freeway noise when the balcony doors were opened. 4 stars. Food - I went to the Happy Hour in the Hotel bar and enjoyed the Lavender Frose and the various appetizers- delicious! Our server was very attentive once it was our turn to be served- the bar was very crowded and she was the only one serving the drinks. 4 stars.

Yelp
This review is not towards the hotel itself but towards the princess tea party experience. I am still waiting for a phone call back from Cory after missing his two calls to discuss our visit. Upon walking in I thought the hotel was super cute and said I would even stay here as we frequent the area of San Juan often. However the princess tea party was very disappointing. The hostess was very unorganized and not friendly. There was a massive confusion between the host desk & servers as she was not communicating what table belonged to what server. We had to ask for everything we needed, (warm water, finger food, lemonade). When asking for 2 complimentary lemonades since we had 2 children. The server left 1 and walked away. Mind you he had a full tray of lemonades. It was warm outside with the sun on us. A manager came to us to ask if we needed a umbrella in which we said yes, the umbrella never showed up. The tea party is $70 for 1 adult and 1 child then $20 for each additional children. It was my mom myself and my two daughters. Totaling $170 (which a automatic 20% gratituity). Completely over priced for what it was. They provided only , 3tierd tea platter which included 4 desserts on the first tier, 3scones on the 2nd tier and a mixture of finger sandwiches on the 3rd tier. When I asked if this is what they provide for a party of 4 they said yes, I asked for another tray, how can you expect a party of 4 to split that tiny amount of food? Also I am 20weeks pregnant!! I didn't mind paying for extra but for that price point more should be included for a party of 4. The princesses took a very long time to get around to us in which we were the last table visited by them. We truly felt forgotten about. After paying and leaving my daughter was excited for the toys at the gift shop where a hotel guest called her spoiled rotten!!!!! WHAT?!!!! This was the icing on the cake for a bad experience. Oh on top of the high price point the parking available is valet and is another $10 on top of this! We were hoping to have a great time since my daughters love princesses we are so sad to say we had a horrible experience.

Yelp
Had a wonderful staycation at Inn at the mission. The hotel grounds were beautiful to explore. Rooms and bathroom were modern and clean. Hotel also gives out complimentary tickets to the mission located across the street which is a nice perk!

Yelp
Boutique hotel, smelled incredible! Our room was right by the pool. Very comfortable. Great location. There was a pop-up market while we were there. Great area if you want to stay out of the car. We would stay here again. Beautiful bar but not overly friendly .

Yelp
A handful of us from San Diego Foodies and Carlsbad Foodies ventured out of San Diego to attend an Olive Oil Tasting and stayed overnight. The Olive Oil Tasting was amazing. The Inn has an Internationally Awarded California Olive Oil Producer Nuvo Olive Oil that creates these events. Our hosts are Justin and Josh. They do it monthly and we highly recommend you go up for it.  After a delightful history of this oil grown in Northern California we enjoyed tapas. Debra says: "The olive oil with the mushrooms are to die for". She says the same about the mushroom pâté, and the chocolate balsamic on top of strawberries. Diane liked everything about the evening, including the tapas. They sat us in an olive grove. It's a beautiful setting. Denise says "The olive oil cake with ice cream and coconut was amazing". All in all, we agreed the event and tapas, the ambiance and the company made this for a very special night out. Most of us stayed overnight at the Inn. The Inn is beautiful. Each room is perfectly appointed. And the staff is ah-mazing. I left behind a few things and Michael at the front desk most graciously with phone in hand to assure me, went into my former room, retrieved the items but took it one step further. I gave him my fedex account number and he drove over to FedEx to make sure I would receive it next day. What a guy! What fine customer service! What an Inn! I also want to personally want to mention Danielle, the Chef who created tapas for us at the event. They were different, hit great flavor profiles and truly rounded out the evening. We grabbed her on the way out and asked if she would join us for brunch at Ramos House the next day and she did! Diane, Debra, Danielle and I enjoyed the most amazing food, plated to perfection. What a nice overnight! Highly recommended, Chef Marian

Yelp
Super bitchin hotel in SJC and I love the decor!! The gift shop is worth checking out and it's part of the Marriott "autograph" chain, whatever that means. Is someone signing autographs? Any celebs? lol We stayed here again and our room was cozy and comfy. The artwork is very Missionesque! Check it out!! Pix later

Yelp
Beautiful hotel that I would come back to if I'm in the area again. Really enjoyed my stay here and felt very relaxed. - Beautiful rooms that make you feel like you're in a getaway. - Felt more like a mini resort vs a hotel. - Had a few dining/drink options onsite. - Has a nice pool, large hot tub, and outdoor seating with fire pits. Overall a great place to stay and do recommend checking them out.

Yelp
Mikki is a miracle worker!!! If you are pregnant or postpartum or anyone else with an ache or pain, GO SEE HER! You won't regret it. I met Mikki through my Father In Law. He has had massages around the world and swears by Mikki. He lives in TX but every time he comes to OC to see us, he sees Mikki at least two times, sometimes three! I started seeing Mikki monthly when I was 3 month pregnant with my second daughter. I had a very rough first pregnancy but had no idea massage work could heal a lot of my pregnancy issues. When I started seeing her I was experiencing daily morning sickness, awful acid reflux and worst of all was a sharp pain in my ribs. It felt like I had a rib out of place. After 2 visits with Mikki the rib pain was gone completely! I never experienced it again! Mikki also used a massage technique to help calm my acid reflux. It worked! And she taught me how to do it to myself!! Mikki was able to heal every ache and pain I brought to her attention during my pregnancy. Not to mention the deep relaxation I would drift into each time I was on her table. I was pregnant with 2 kids at home so I always looked forward to the personalized peaceful treatment Mikki always provided. I saw Mikki up to 40 weeks and delivered my healthy baby girl at 41 weeks. At 2 months postpartum I headed back to The Spa to see Mikki the miracle worker. This time my issue was diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and bad headaches from slouching while nursing. Mikki let me know that it would take about 6 sessions for her to help me massage my abdominal muscles back into place. I've completed 4 of 6 sessions and I'm almost 100% back together! Feeling the hole in my abs was so scary but once again Mikki has helped heal me along with giving me exercises to do at home. Mikki is the most knowledgeable massage therapist I've ever met. She is constantly taking classes and traveling the world to gain more knowledge! Book with her today!! You won't regret it. Especially if you are looking for prenatal or postnatal massage!

Yelp
Our stay was back in January 2023 so I'm a little late, but wanted to leave a review. Our stay was short but sweet. The location is in great walking distance to the town. We arrived in the evening and the lighting and atmosphere was beautiful. The hotel is clean, attractive and comfortable. The rooms were beautiful and we loved the style! We didn't order room service or have dinner at the hotel, but we did enjoy our breakfast at the cafe in the morning. We were not a huge fan of the valet parking fee but that's a small negative for how beautiful the hotel is. Didn't mind the resort fee because we used it for food in the morning. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
My BFF treated me to a spa day for my Christmas gift. The hotel smelled spectacular. The staff (in the hotel) was friendly. The spa was small and cozy. Donna was so polite and accommodating and very friendly, making me feel very welcome. Jennifer my masseuse was very friendly and did a great job! I would recommend this place.

Yelp
The absolute worst service in the history of service at the bar and restaurant The location is great! The decor inside is very high-end and meticulously decorated. Great place to stay. the food is good, but the dining experience is so bad with all the bartenders complaining about all the customers in front of you. It's really bad.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a short but lovely one night staycation at the Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. It was a pretty spontaneous trip. We wanted to go somewhere nice and not too far away from home. San Juan Capistrano met those criteria, and the Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano was an easy decision for us. The hotel is walking distance to Mission San Juan Capistrano and a bunch of dining and shopping options. The night that we wanted to stay happened to have been at a pretty decent rate for a nice hotel. Also, the $25 daily destination fee was a no-brainer deal for us. For $25, we got tickets for two to the mission, a $25 food and beverage credit, and a few other benefits. Our check-in experience went very smoothly. We arrived on a Sunday evening and were greeted by the valet staff upon arrival. Ernie at the front desk was great and explained everything thoroughly. Self-parking was extremely easy. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was nice. I really like the Spanish-inspired architecture and brown color tones. The furniture items in the room were tasteful and fitted in with the architecture and historic vibe of the local area. The bed was comfortable. We slept well, and we had a nice time relaxing in the room when we were not out and about. We used our $25 food and beverage credit at El Café Real, which was a very short walk through the courtyard to get to. The food was tasty and affordable. The weather was really nice so we ended up hanging out in the courtyard for a little bit and playing cornhole. The hotel and the area that it is in are both so charming. We had such a relaxing time at the Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. My only complaint is that my staycation could not last forever.

Yelp
It all started with the amazing front desk manager Victoria. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, kind and so helpful to go above and beyond in making my stay a memorable one!!

Yelp
The service was great, the massage was ok. I've been to many spas and this one is the smallest I've ever been to. The women's area only had one shower, one bathroom, and two sinks. There is one steam room for maybe three women to sit comfortably. Regardless it was a relaxing experience, but I prefer spas that have more amenities and that provide more of the things needed when showering, for example, cutips.

Yelp
I am a wedding planner who had the pleasure of working with Laura and Jazmin at the Inn at the Mission for one of our couple's weddings. Jazmin was so kind, welcoming, and transparent throughout the sales process and worked hard to ensure our couple was taken care of and created something that worked for them. Laura was responsive, attentive, kind-hearted, and truly went above and beyond for our couple. If you are considering the many venues in the area, I highly recommend the Inn - our couple raved about the food, the drinks, and had a wonderful experience working with them.

Yelp
Our family had a perfect experience at the hotel restaurant on Father's Day. The service was friendly and very attentive, the menu offerings were varied and competitively priced, our dishes were excellent, and the patio was beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
It's a beautiful hotel and rooms are very nice that's the good news. Room service for breakfast order ahead wasn't working so we had to go down and order our breakfast and get it. The light in the closet didn't light up has a short in it the shower didn't have a medium hot temperature. It was either cold or scolding. Nobody made up the room for one day, staff was friendly. Room rates way over priced for what we got as far as service and won't be returning.

Yelp
This hotel is one of my favorite resorts to visit! It's within walking distance of the train station and across the street from Mission San Juan. Free admission for two daily! Free beach cruisers. You can walk to several boutiques and many good restaurants! There is an award winning bakery close by that sells out early but worth the wait in line! The staff is lovely and put customer service first! Everyday $25.00 food credits and bottled water for the coffee machine in room. More to discover here and cannot recommend it more highly!

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Mission Inn and will absolutely be back! Everything was perfect! The property is a beautiful Spanish style resort and with all the amenities you really have no reason to leave. The rooms are lovely and have the most comfortable beds. The pool is wonderful and you can order cocktails and lunch served pool side- everything is delicious. Ysidora Restaurant for dinner is amazing- highly recommend and you can dine on the beautiful patio! The cafe serves breakfast and lunch. The staff are the best! All so kind and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. There's a spa and fitness center. The whole resort smells amazing with their signature scent wafting throughout. The mission is across the street. A short, lovely walk and more amazing restaurants and Los Rios Historic neighborhood is so much fun to explore!

Yelp
Zero stars would be more appropriate. My husband and I booked a cabana at the pool and waited an hour and a half for service. After complaining twice the waitress finally made her way out to the pool area.... As slowly as possible. She took orders from every other pool guest, then left without waiting on us, the only people who had paid for chairs. Service has been horrible at the hotel restaurant in the past as well. Such a disappointment- hotel property is beautiful, management needs to step it up.

Yelp
First time here We had a dinner reservation at Ysidora - to celebrate birthday Month! It was so fun to sit outside and listen to the live music. We ordered a little bit of everything and enjoyed each plate. Our first course: -Ceviche: good, but the chip that it comes with could be better -Sliders: tasty burger -Gluten Free Veggie Pizza: nice and light Main: -Filet, you can't go wrong! -Artichoke and Beet: beautiful and delicious Dessert: -the birthday dessert was a plate of churros, they were so delish that we ordered a second round, you must try it! Drinks: -all cocktails and wine were great Service/Ambiance: -everyone was so friendly and customer service oriented. We are going to make this our Moms Night Out stomping ground! Tip: sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while listening to live music.

Yelp
Wowwwwie. The grounds of this hotel are the perfect blend of inviting and secluded nestled in the middle of a bustling small town, access right off a main highway - and you would never know. You are immediately enveloped into the world they've created for you. High ceilings, stately beams, luxurious ranch decor, situated right by the Mission with the exterior of the hotel being just as important and impressive as the interiors and rooms. The staff is lovely, the people are welcoming. A very nice respite for travelers.

Yelp
This place is so beautiful! Came for a night market event and it was worth enjoying a holiday outing! They had vendors selling all kinds of goods. Santa was there for pictures and we got to walk around their outdoor dinning area. Definitely need to plan an outing for dinner at their restaurant!

Yelp
Stayed here for business. I didn't get to enjoy a lot when I was here, because I was very busy . BUT!!! Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Lovely small, friendly town. Lost of restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood. I would love to come back, and stay a few days on my own time. so i can fully enjoy the rest of this lovely hotel.

Yelp
This hotel turned out to be a very frustrating experience. Here are the pros & cons: Cons 1. I booked the reservation thru Bookonline (by mistake) and was charged a 33% Tax and Recovery Fee per night--that came to $252.51 per night on a $469 room--a total of $757.55 over and above the room rate of $1400. No one seems to be able or willing to give me a break out of what that fee entailed either at the hotel or at Bookingonline. I will never willingly use them again. Be careful when you book and pay attention to the URL, I thought I was booking the reservation thru the hotel This is the explanation for the $252.51 per night fee. See the photo image below. According to hotel they charge 10% sales tax; 75 destination fee; and $35 dresort fee. Looks to me like if I had booked hotel instead of Bookonline I could have save about $100 a night. Buyer beware... 2. No one on the front desk could answer simple questions about charges, restaurants, turning into the hotel, etc. And they did not even try to be helpful. Their standard answer was I don't know. 3. The room was very small and included only 1 very uncomfortable chair and there were two of us. It was a very uncomfortable room for a 4 star hotel for which we paid over $600 a night. 4. On one morning there was no hot water at all. Apparently there were too many people in the hotel and they could not produce enough hot water. 5. It was also apparent that we were given one of their inferior rooms because we were booked thru Bookonline. Definitely avoid making this mistake when you book. This company is a rip-off. Pros 1. The restaurants (both of them) were good with friendly service and excellent food. 2. The hotel is almost brand new; has lovely landscaping and a convenient location to the town. 3, The exercise room was excellent brand new equipment. 4. The Valet service was cheerful and tried to be helpful.

Yelp
I only had a phone experience so far but I was impressed by the service I got from the front desk and from the spa. A special compliment to Nicolette who went beyond to accommodate my request. I am anticipating my stay on a future date will be excellent.

Yelp
Omg. For an Autograph collection, this property is awful. Rooms have very loud fan on non-stop in bathrooms. There is no off switch. They told me at 6:00 p.m. that they would deactivate it. I came back from dinner at 11:00 p.m. to find it was still on and making so much noise there was no way to sleep. I contacted guest services and then surprise, was told engineering went home for the night. After a lot of back and forth for 40 minutes, they finally decided to move my room to one that was quieter without a fan making the noise. The room of course was completely inferior. I am lifetime Platinum elite and this is how they treated me. Residence inns are better properties in terms of ability to sleep than this place is. Avoid this property especially given what they charge and what they advertise compared to what they really offer you.
