California Hotels That Aren't on the Coast

"In between the two sprawling metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco there’s a much quieter, much more pastoral version of California living. San Luis Obispo County promotes itself with the tag SLO-Cal, and whatever you think of the pun, it’s an accurate assessment. This place on it's own deserves five stars - it's a beautiful property, the rooms are eclectically and thoughtfully designed, and it's overall a very intimate, comfortable, and chill spot. However, our stay in the Artist Studio had a bee hive in the bathroom walls. It's established enough that we could hear the vibrations and buzzing during the day, and noticed swarms of bees in the nearby trees. When I spoke with the property manager about it, he didn't show much concern except that the bees had to live somewhere and they must love the lavender. I would have expected at minimum an expression of concern, a change in room or discount for our stay would have been better. Or maybe a commitment to address it right away. But because of the response we got, I imagine this is not something that will be taken care of anytime soon. And I get that every place has it's give and take, there was a lot to love about this property- but with a 5 star hotel I would have expected at least a daily skim of the pool. It's a refreshing hang on hot days, but I didn't feel comfortable enjoying it as much as I would have if I didn't have the concern that one of these dang bees would go for a bath in the pool and sting me.

Inn Paradiso was a beautiful and relaxing oasis from the world. Outside, the grounds offers a gallery of enjoyments, including beautiful trees, flowers, a pool, a grassy field, and sheltered and well-shaded corners to relax in the sun. Inside, the decor is cozy and full of personality, with beautiful original artwork and world artifacts collected by the hands of a curator that knows what they're doing. It is clear that a lot of love has gone into this place. We hope we get to return soon!

We loved our time at Inn Paradiso! The rooms are unique and the property is super beautiful and relaxing, and close to a lot of great wineries. Our kids loved the pool.

I had such an amazing stay here! The hosts were excellent and very helpful. It was clean and very comfortable. There were so many little touches and details in the room that made it feel like a home away from home, like a coffee maker and an electric kettle for tea and these really comfortable robes. The room itself was incredible. I’ve never stayed anywhere like it. The bathroom was so cool I honestly could have just hung out in there the whole trip and been happy! Same for the swimming pool, it was a great place to swim and to lay out. Also, some excellent bird watching under the big tree by the fountain. I’m fairly certain I saw a female hooded oriole! I highly recommend Inn Paradiso to anyone looking for a very luxurious and cozy getaway. It’s a wonderful place with lots of character and relaxing energy. Thanks again to the wonderful hosts and staff!

If you are looking for somewhere a little less "hotel" and with the charm of Paso, this is your place. Steve has an amazing sense of style and an amazing design eye and it's reflected in every detail. Vintage pieces - from the art work to the furniture - are everywhere and there not from Grandmas house. They are carefully selected from many places around the world. And the bedding on the beds is over the top gorgeous! Thank you Steve for being an amazing host - I'll be staying with you again next time I'm in Paso! Allison

We stayed at Inn Paradiso while picking up our fall wines and we loved it. It's a unique property that's very comfortable and offers an experience not found often. The rooms are large & very comfortable, with a large and quiet property. There's a beautiful pool area, an organic garden, fruit trees and it's gate protected. All over the property there are intimate areas to hang out, Given the choice between a standard hotel in Paso or Inn Paradiso, absolutely stay at Paradiso, you'll thank me later.

Inn Paradiso is a charming, ecclectic and unique hotel on the outskirts of Paso Robles. We stayed here for two nights for a special occasion, while visiting nearby wineries. ||There were some things we found peculiar:||- They don’t have any front desk so they apply self check-in and check-out.||- We didn’t see any staff anywhere (until it was time for us to leave, which is when we saw housekeeping on the grounds).||- The entrance to the main lodge was locked during our entire stay. (Luckily, our room was connected to the main lodge from the inside, so we could get into the main lodge anyway.)||- Our room wasn’t made up during our entire stay, and we had to call for things to be replenished. ||- We discovered there actually was a hostess on site, when we called the service number to ask for an iron. Even though the hotel clearly states, both on their website and in the booking confirmation, that dogs are not permitted in the main lodge and only in two suites dedicated to pets, the hostess not only kept her own dog in the main lodge but let it into our room when delivering the iron. We SPECIFICALLY chose this hotel because of their restrictive dog policy. Huge disappointment!||The hotel was quaint, our room charming, and the bathroom spacious with a beautiful bathtub. However, we don’t think it lived up to a mention in the Michelin Guide. They didn’t even offer breakfast.

Yelp
This place is really well kept. The rooms and linens were clean and overall a nice stay. The rooms were also pretty quiet for a busy holiday weekend so that was a nice bonus. Unwind & relax were much appreciated. With that said, not sure if the price was worth it. It was on the higher end $500+/ night and totally get that everywhere around town was booked but we only had access to our room and outdoor shared space. I guess I thought the main lodge area with seating and farm style dining table would be open but it was all locked and dark. I think it's a lovely place but wouldn't stay here again. I'm sure others might like it for the price and location. There's lots to do around town so highly recommend visiting Paso Robles in general.

Yelp
Cute hidden gems in a Paso Robles. Love this place, not far from Daou winery. Price is a but pricey but worth to give it a try. You won't disappoint

Yelp
My friend heard wonderful things word-of-mouth from her friend who's been here twice. She booked a girls trip for 6 girls for her 40th. Even though the weather was rainy, the property is exquisite and exceeded expectations with the level of detail. Steve and Amy were both very helpful and responsive. Steve built a fire for us :) Every room has drinking water pitchers and glasses, there's a huge library of books, records, etc. The price is very reasonable for what you get! I want to come back with my family now. Very unique and special, everyone should visit :)

Yelp
Enjoyed every second of my stay here. The host, Tova, and her team are exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. This Inn provides you with a true community feel, with dinners around a large dining table and a great sitting area for everyone to meet. My room was clean and cozy. Would gladly stay again!

Yelp
We would stay here again! Quiet, comfortable and a peaceful spot. It was more than we expected.

Yelp
This place is so dreamy! My husband and I stayed here for two nights (far too few) on our Central Coast mini-honeymoon last month, and it was the perfect place to decompress, thanks to the idyllic hilltop setting, in-room Jacuzzi tub in our suite, luxury linens and comfortable bed, and all of the small details from the photography, carefully chosen books, quality toiletries, and more. Tamara, the inn-keeper, was the perfect hostess. She makes incredible and healthy breakfasts, with some ingredients from the gardens, and even though she is new to the area is very helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to do. She even went out of her way to ship us my husband's jacket and some shirts which he left in the armoire, which we really appreciated. When booking I debated between which room to stay in because they all looked beautiful, but I chose the Maria Sabina Suite and loved it. The aforementioned Jacuzzi tub looked out onto a small wrought-iron balcony overlooking a gorgeous Oak tree. The bed was hard to pull myself away from in the morning, and the hammock on the balcony was so relaxing that I fell asleep mid-afternoon, something I rarely do. I'm never planning to get married again, but I am certainly intending to return to Inn Paradiso for special occasions, or when in need of a getaway.

Yelp
Phenomenal experience this weekend at the Inn Paradiso. The grounds are beautiful, full of fun and interesting art, the breakfasts are so special, with exciting organic ingredients and a very talented chef/property manager. We felt very welcome and relaxed. The Inn is just a bit out of town, Uber was very easy to use to get around town each day. The pool is unheated and refreshing. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful place on earth... We spent one night of our honeymoon here and it was definitely memorable... Tamara, her fiancé Andy were so welcoming and attentive... A chance to speak to the owner Steven was a rare treat since he gave us the history of this great place... It was a pleasure meeting all of you! The rooms, grounds, food, ahhh, i could on an on...and we had the whole place to ourselves! We will definitely be returning! Thank you all for providing a fantastic experience and beautiful memories for my wife and I...

Yelp
Spacious, interesting, luxurious, romantic, extraordinary....only touch the surface of this unusual place. Photos and descriptions do not do it justice! You have to experience it for yourself. The inn-keepers were gracious and accommodating, making delicious locally sourced, organic dishes. The bath products were heavenly. I loved opening the windows and doors to feel like I was outside, living in the tops of the oak trees. Close to town, yet private and secretive. Tanner, one of the innkeepers, will even be your taxi into town or for wine tasting. His advice on what wineries to try was spot-on! I would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
Like walking onto a vegetarian James Bond set, this lovely inn is full of delightful and well-curated pieces of 60's nostalgia. It feels like you've sneaked into a wealthy architect's vacation home circa 1969. Consider wearing plaid pants. The guest rooms and amenities are on par with what you'd find at a high end hotel, the breakfast is great and the grounds are beautifully maintained.

Yelp
My first review ever and it's for inn paradiso. Magical, relaxing, serene, beautiful, organic, clean and well maintained..I promise you will not regret staying here. Pictures do not do justice to this place! Colleen and Tanner were so sweet and accommodating. We went there for my boyfriends birthday and we both decided that this will be our getaway spot from now on..can't wait to go back! By the way Colleen made us a yummy lemon rosemary cheesecake that was beyond amazing Don't think twice..book it and go!

Yelp
I spent 3 nights with friends for Memorial Day weekend. We all heard great things about the Inn and hotels, like Cheval, were booked so we thought we'd give it a try. Tamara was very helpful in terms of booking. There were 4 of us and we took over all 4 rooms. Tamara is a chef and cooked a great breakfast every day. The place is very quiet, which is nice, and I would say very rustic. If that's your thing, this is a good place for you. I have a few specific comments, below. This is not a dog friendly place. They say they are dog friendly, and they're pretty clear about the parameters on their website, but with 2 of us bringing dogs, it was difficult that they couldn't be anywhere but the grounds outside and one of the rooms that allowed dogs. More about that room later. We simply thought they would be allowed in the "lobby" if you call it that. Onto the rooms...they really differ too much in terms of likability and comfort. One of our friends booked the greatest room with a lot of light and a gorgeous tub. My room was dark on one side...cute...nice tub...but not as nice for the same price. I also had a spider in my room, which I put a cup over figuring the maid would take it away...instead, she moved the cup and left the spider there and I found it waiting for me on the bedside table when I got in. Not cool. Never, ever, book the room that allows dogs. It's in my opinion ugly, dark and sort of gross. The room is small and has spiral stairs up to a small loft which look liked it needed a freshen...then a little alcove on top of that, which we were all scared to climb up to. My friend nearly slipped on the stone in the bathroom. It's dark and just not a room that they should charge around $400 for. Another comment with respect to the Inn, and this is picky because Tamara's breakfast was great...but a lot of people don't drink regular coffee and are looking for lattes (like me). I understand not investing in an expensive cappuccino maker, but a small one would be great or even a milk foamer. I had to wait until we all got ready to go downtown and get my latte every day. I think the biggest gripe, for me, are the rooms and the lack of consistency. Yes, it's a B&B and they vary, but spending $1200+ for 3 nights I expect a similar room as my friends.

Yelp
Overall a lovely stay... Started with some concerns about no hot water(new heater being installed) but was resolved before bedtime. Rooms are fresh and well designed. Breakfast was always creative and healthy.

Yelp
We stayed 3 nights in the Maria Sabina room and had a relaxing, wonderful stay. This unique inn off the beaten path is a true gem. The innkeeper, Tamara, makes you feel right at home and her fabulous breakfasts each morning are pampering and delicious. This will definitely be our go-to place whenever we are back in this area.

Yelp
The most amazing hotel experience I have ever had. I felt right at home, the service and the hotel were impeccable. I will most definitely return, if you are looking for a place to stay, you must stay here you will not regret it. I was having a hard time booking at a specific winery but Tova and the owner gladly made it happen. The food is organic and the coffee is the best I have ever had. I will highly recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
There is a reason why Inn Paradiso has 5-stars on every review site and it has nothing to with meeting any expectation of what a bed and breakfast should be: comfortable, friendly, quaint, warm... all words that would describe a fine place. But Inn Paradiso and its hostess, Tova are beyond measure. I'd like to start by saying (without spoiling) that this was an experience like no other I've had. Bring your camera and a bottle of wine. Be prepared to relax and be amazed at the same time. I'm sure you can read the other reviews for more details, but I urge you to just book and go. Life still has surprises to offer...

Yelp
My husband and 5 year old just got back from an amazing few days away at Inn Paradiso! This place to so charming, relaxing and comfortable. Tova, the woman who runs the Inn is very warm and knowledgable about the area (restaurants, vineyards, etc.) Tova also makes an increable breakfast, not to be missed!! The property has an amazing swimming pool our 5 year old was in and out of the day we arrived. Our trip was short but we truly loved our experience and we will definitely be coming back for more visits soon!

Yelp
Inn Paradiso is awesome and unique. It is beautiful, comfortable and furnished with an eclectic and very cool style. Sculptures and art pieces are scattered throughout the property. The main common room has an amazing fireplace, huge windows with interesting couches and furniture to sit and read or relax and look out at the nature surrounding. Our room was the Carlo Molino suite which we loved. It is light and airy with many windows, nice bedding and a huge jacuzzi tub and shower. Tova, the inn keeper, welcomed us with love from the moment we got there. She was warm and lovely and prepared the most gorgeous breakfast of a leek frittata, cheese and croissant with beautiful fig jam and fresh squeezed orange juice. This inn is a very special place in a natural setting and we can't wait to come back and stay longer.

Yelp
Stay here. Period. The folks here run a gorgeous inn - from the high end sheets and amenities (including house-made bath salts) to the terrific, locally sourced breakfast. The story behind the buildings is almost as compelling as the experience we had - turns out they were owned by a drug dealer and, when he was arrested, their seizure resulted in the sale of the property to someone who built it out as an inn. The current owners bought the place in 2009 or 2010 and now operate a really tranquil retreat. It's perfect for nearly any visit to the Paso Robles area. Be sure to leave a bit of time and liver capacity to taste some of the incredible bootleg tequila that they bring in from Mexico a bottle or two at a time; it's some of the best I've had.

Yelp
This is hands down THE BEST place to stay in Paso Robles. Not only is the property absolutely amazing, but the inn keepers, Colleen & Tanner were true gems. They were so gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating. Lots of attention to details. The breakfast was locally sourced, and made with LOVE. The owner, Steve is also gracious and welcoming, his eye for furniture is not to be missed. The entire place was adorned with magical pieces from near and far, adding a unique mysticism to the place. The rooms were relaxing and well equipped with everything you would ever need. The coffee is absolutely amazing, and Tanner made sure we had a fresh cup waiting outside our room in the morning. This is a must when staying in Paso Robles, there is nothing else like it.

Yelp
That s the best place ever !!!!! My girlfriend and i spend a really good time, can t be more romantic with the nice smelly garden, the room with jacousi, the lounge outside with tequila tasting, the fire place in a cold weather with a glass of wine and to finish the experience with a very good breakfast.... picture doesnt look as good as it is .... Kind of don t want to say to many good things, want to have place available for next time !!! ;)

Yelp
This was my second experience with a bed and breakfast. I came here thinking it was a hotel, because the first bnb I stayed at scared me away from ever wanting bnbs. However, had this lovely, intimate, romantic, exclusive inn been my first bnb, that's all I ever would stay at, ever. Yes, this is another five-star review. First of all, there are four rooms, max. No kids are allowed. Only one room takes pets but the innkeeper, Tamara, told us hardly anyone takes animals. We stayed in that suite. I didn't see any pet stains and nothing smelled like animals. This is the Antoni Gaudí Loft. You prepay for the room, but Tamara also showed us the Octavio Paz Suite. We opted for the Antoni. Anyway, my point is that for such a beautiful, massive property, you're only going to run into 3 other couples at the max, assuming the occupancy is full. You'll most likely see them at breakfast since Tamara's organic, healthy, delicious 2-course breakfast is served only between 9a-10a (which is included in your rate). You will not be hungry after this breakfast. I wish someone served me this type of breakfast every day. I'd definitely be more fit. Back to the Antoni. The room is slightly cooler because it's not connected to the main house. It's connected to Tamara's living area, where only a small entrance is shared. The suite feels more like a cabin. However, if you run the wall heater, which sounds like rain, and the bathroom space heater, it gets very cozy. The suite has three levels. If you are overweight, you will most likely not make it to the second and third levels. The spiral staircase is narrow to ascend to the second level which is a small seating area. The third level can be reached by an iron ladder that involves a bit of upper body effort, but then you're in the meditation space, with beautiful windows, and two mediation seats as well as a bean bag chair. The bathroom on the bottom level has beautiful custom redwood designs on the sink, toilet, door, and frame. The tub is amazing. You feel like you're in an outdoor spa. You're literally bathing on stones. I didn't take a bath, just incredible showers, but salts are available should you indulge. Despite the stones, it was very comfortable and pleasurable. The toiletries smell great and I liked the face spray which I never received before staying at a hotel. My only request would be a small mouthwash and that the lotion be replaced, as that was missed on our second night, probably unintentional. They threw away the used toiletries and replaced them with brand new ones. Oh, and the towels... so many luxurious Wamsutta towels. More than you'd need. If you love towels, you'll be happy. You also get your pick of a spa robe or a light robe. Both options are available for each person. Then there's the huge bed. It was great. I just wish I had more than one pillow, for just me. There were more in the closet but I wasn't sure if the pillow case was replaced so I just used the one. Also, for the bathroom, Tamara if you're reading this, I'd recommend putting a plastic cap over that little metal piece that holds the shower curtain to avoid an accidental, painful step. Pro-tip: If you do stay in the Antoni, which I recommend, bring ear plugs as you might hear the occasional woodpecker here and there. Also, bring a sleep mask as the blinds and skylights let in light. One of the pros, and cons, of being in nature. If you want a more living room-esque vibe, the Octavio was great, or just walk over to the lodge. There's a huge seating area in there and you'll most likely be alone. It's a ten-second walk from the room. Anyway, if you are one that loves details, you'll love this property. The rooms are decorated carefully and welcomingly. Each room is unique. Each room is spacey and each room has a secluded outdoor area. The room we turned down was the Octavio. This room was beautiful, as well. It had a separate and closer parking area. It had a more feminine and modern feel and was very cozy and warm. It was incredibly spacey and would make most apartment renters envious. Although it's on the bottom floor, unlike the Maria and Carlo, it has sound-proofing. Since it's adults only, you won't hear kids running above you. It's also much warmer since it's in the lodge with the main area, the kitchen and dining space, and the two other rooms. The Maria and the Carlo were occupied so I can't comment on them, but I bet they're beautiful, judging by the two rooms I saw. As for the innkeeper, Tamara, she is wonderful. She can read people well. She won't make you feel obligated to talk if you rather be left alone. If you feel chatty, she's happy to respond. She is professional and warm with great cooking and people skills. You can tell that she really wants you to have a wonderful time. As for our choices, we were deciding between here and Hotel Cheval. I'm out of space to write, but PM me if you want to know why we didn't pick that place.

Yelp
I read about the Inn in the New York Times and booked a weekend there for my husband and me. It exceeded all of our expectations. The attention to detail can be seen everywhere. At night, we sat in front of the fireplace, read and drank wine. The breakfast was amazing. Colleen and Tanner are super nice and so professional. We loved it there and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Paradiso is exactly that. Imagine a rustic house (or series of buildings) built by Gaudi and you get the idea of why this place is special. Art, mid century furnishings, lots of little corners to read, relax and decompress. A truly great place for a romantic getaway. . We had a lovely large room with spa tub, fireplace and four poster bed. Lots of attention to detail and nice touches. Lovely pool. A great - great room with mid century furnishings. Excellent breakfast and a knowledgeable and welcoming host. You could spend the weekend here and just phone in for the wine :) There are only 4 rooms - hard to think there is anywhere better in the area..

Yelp
This is more than a B&B, it is a special place to go for a weekend. You feel like you are invited into the staff's lifestyle and the lifestyle of Paso by staying with them. The rooms are very well appointed with great views. The location is amazing! It is in the middle of everything you will want to get to but secluded enough that you still feel in the country at night. It tops my list of places to stay in Paso

Yelp
My discerning boyfriend and I just spent a relaxing, romantic weekend here and we were beyond impressed. The staff, service, and amenities were impeccable. The property is sprawling allowing you the option to seek solace (by the pool/hot tub or in a hammock nook) or mingle with other guests, the staff, or the owners in the main house. It is located minutes away from downtown Paso Robles but is secluded enough that there is no noise or bustle. We had the luxury of staying in two different rooms during our stay. Each had so much character and was decorated flawlessly. The food is "farm to table" and delicious. The staff is incredibly attentive and provides very personal service. The innkeeper waited up past midnight to let us into our room after we ran into some traffic and took care of us the entire weekend: booking restaurants, recommending wineries, texting us in the evenings to ask what time we wanted breakfast, etc. She couldn't have been more accommodating and personable. A must-see/must-stay -- very special inn.

Erika A.

Yelp
Amazing and beautiful! Tastefully done, super peaceful, feels like you are at a spa getaway. Tamara the host was more then helpful, she guided us on what wineries were white wine heavy since I'm not a huge red wine fan. We went biking and explored the area, returning to an impeccably clean room with all the sweet touches of rosemary and fresh water waiting for us. Breakfast was top notch, we always looked forward to seeing what Tamara expertly cooked for us, never disappointed. We didn't use the pool but it was always kept very clean and at night it is lit up. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a wonderful place and experience. This small inn has everything we looked in a place to stay. We discovered something new in every corner. The rooms were extremely comfortable with a wonderful bathroom. The Inn hostess, Tova made the experience complete. It was a perfect place to stay and relax after a day of wine tasting. I will definitely return and stay several days to enjoy the Inn and the area. Tova also shows us the Geodesic dome that they also manage. What a treasure. We'll try rent it next time with some friends for a full week.

Yelp
My husband and I spent four amazing days at this lovely gem of a bed and breakfast. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts, and small boutique hotels and Inn Paradiso was by far the best we have ever experienced. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. The breakfast served each morning was top notch-healthy, delicious, and portion size was perfect. The inn is situated perfectly as well. The property has a peaceful, country vibe, but downtown is just a few minutes drive away, where you can eat at great restaurants, and walk around the cozy down town area. Also, great wine tasting is very close by as well. More than all of the things aforementioned, we appreciated most the inn keeper Tamara. Her attention to quality, and ability to anticipate our needs was extraordinary. We will definitely go back for another stay, and highly recommend this Inn.

christine k.

Yelp
Yes another 5 star review. All I can do to thank our host Tova, owner and visionaire Steven, and the staff for the warmth, beauty and delicious food we experienced at Inn Paradiso. It was perfection. Really looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
I am loathe to write a review of a place I have never been to, a review that is based on an experience that never got passed the booking phase, but I need to share it nonetheless. I booked a weekend at the end of September, based on a recommendation from a friend. The woman who took my reservation is Amber, and she never told of their cancellation policy at the time of booking. In addition to that, their cancellation policy is not listed on their website, nor did I ever receive the confirmation email they claimed they sent (they mistyped the email address in their system). So when it came time to unfortunately have to cancel the reservation due to work, I called five days before our reservation, thinking that was more than sufficient. The owner Dawna told me at that time that they had a 14 day cancellation policy but since they were going through "managerial problems" at the time of my booking, she would give me a full refund. I was not given any refund. And now Dawna is in Mexico and the new manager, Tanner, says I was never promised a refund (as per their booking notes and some correspondence between him and her). He says he has to follow policy, period, despite the fact that I am fully certain I was promised differently due to bad management at the time of booking. Now this is the kicker: During our correspondence about why the credit wasn't given, Tanner sent me a copy of the confirmation letter that was supposedly sent to me when I booked the room. I pointed out to him that AMBER HAD ENTERED THE WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS - the reason I never was made aware of their cancellation policy - and STILL they will not acknowledge that this is their mistake, not mine, and he will not refund me the $763. All he has offered is a credit for ONE night, not the two that I already paid for at the time of the booking. I tried to follow up a couple times and they have ignored me. I'm sure the place is gorgeous, and that if you go you will love it, but now I don't even want to use the one night's credit because the whole experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth. I don't want to go out of obligation; I want to go with a good feeling in my heart. I want to be as excited as I was at the time when I initially made the reservation. I am thoroughly dismayed and disappointed at how this whole situation was handled. I don't know why they didn't just own up to their mistake and refund me the full amount, or give two night's stay. They have handled this situation so incredibly poorly and it's a real shame. Hopefully their customer service has improved since this happened. Hopefully they will note their cancellation policy on their website. Hopefully they will honor their promises. Hopefully... If you need to cancel - make sure to do it 14 days in advance, or else...

Yelp
How can I even begin to describe how great this place is? First of all, I'm putting it under a cone of invisibility so I can stay there whenever I want because you won't be able to find it. Second of all, the property is gorgeous -- if you're into mid-century design that's warm and real then you'll love it. Finally the inn keepers Tanner and Colleen are the jam. Not only are they cool and nice and helpful, they cook like rock stars. They make breakfast every morning and it's fantastic. World's best pancake and it was good for me -- how can I even? And you can hire them to cook dinner for you at the inn beside a crackling fire . We were so happy with our experience we booked July 4th weekend before we even left.

Yelp
This is truly a wonderful place. We really enjoyed our stay here. We travel a lot and are generally hard to please and have very high standards but we absolutely loved it. The host Tamara was so gracious and took great care of us. She made the most amazing and hearty all organic breakfast for us each morning with herbs from the property garden. The room was very spacious and very comfortable with great views of the property. The pools is beautiful, this place looks much more beautiful in person than the photos on their website. It feels secluded but is also close to town. Will definitely go back. My new favorite place in Paso Robles.

Yelp
Magical & Charming - this boutique property is worlds away from the hustle bustle of city life. Located a few miles out of town on breezy hilltop surrounded by rolling green pastures, Inn Paradiso seems more a friend's vacation home than a bed & breakfast. The lodge-like structure is a Ralph Lauren dream come true, the communal den furnished in eclectic mid-century furniture, taxidermy, mexican antiques & santa fe-style throws - all centered around an enormous rock fireplace. The rooms are spacious and modern, yet cozy and warm with soaking tubs, fireplaces and spectacular views that might offer a glimpse of passing deer. The service is warm and friendly.. and the organic breakfast is so unbelievably lavish & delicious you might think Alice Waters is in the kitchen. You will NOT want to leave!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best, romantic, relaxing retreats ever! Exactly what is needed for the escape from the hectic ins and outs of everyday stress. As a fan of minimal design coupled with rustic design/charm and utter comfort these folks know how to do it. Amber, Steve, and the rest of the staff were there when you needed them, and know exactly what people crave when they want to get away for a quiet, über-relaxing time: organic breakfast, in-room jacuzzi bath plus ginormous, beautiful shower (I would stay in the Carlo Molino room again in a minute), in-room french press coffee (as if they knew that i cant face the day without a cup first thing in the morning!), hammock, pool, cozy deck seating perfect for bringing dinner back from town, and boutique tequila toast per arrival. Now I just need it to be December so we can go back and use the fireplace and cozy up with some scotch in the main living room...filled with a great library, coffee table books, and a taxidermied bobcat! A must.

Yelp
This was a great bed and breakfast place to relax at while pleasuring wine tasting in the area. Friendly staff, high organic breakfast served, majority of vegetables grown on premises , eggs from neighboring farm. Pool option if you'd like to lay at poolside to read and relax. Talk with staff to learn other venues outside area

Yelp
This places is heaven on Earth! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Tanner and Colleen are absolutely fantastic and made us feel like long-lost friends we hadn't seen in years. The property is gorgeous, the inn is intimate and secluded, and the rooms are spacious, luxurious, and very well kept. We had both breakfast and dinner at the inn and it was incredible, as was the company. Just a wonderful hidden gem, and we won't be staying anywhere else on trips to Paso in the future.

Yelp
Fantastic food, relaxing, soothing and friendly owners. What more could you ask for. Like other reviewers, staying at the Inn Paradiso was more like staying in a friends home rather than a B&B. Communal dining, the common areas and the premise are really nice and the food is great too - a majority of the food is grown on premise. We'll be back with friends to take over the other two rooms.

Yelp
This Inn was about a hundred dollars a night more than than the two fancy, chain hotels, but it was worth the difference. The manager, Tamara, contacted me by text earlier in the day to find out if there were anything special I needed--something i have never experienced before. The Inn is located in the country but still a close two miles to town--so you can enjoy the sounds and views of being out of town but enjoy the close proximity of downtown restaurants. The estate is large with lovely trees and landscaping and a large pool (non-heated but we swam in the late afternoon and it was just perfect). Our room was spacious and had a jacuzzi as well as an extra large shower. The bed was comfortable. We had a two balcony's--one with a view of the hills outside and another with a view of the Great Room inside, which is a common area. We had a coffee press with great coffee set up to go and some complimentary pistachios and butter brickle. Breakfast was outstanding--tasty, healthy and all organic. We chose this place partly because the breakfast is so good and vegetarian--if you want steak and bacon and that matters to you, go somewhere else. Both breakfasts were filling, tasty, and homemade--something you never get with your big hotel "breakfasts" in America. There is a huge common room that is beautiful architecturally and quite comfortable. I will come again when I want a special treat.

Yelp
Inn Paradiso is not only a gourgeous property it is also a tranquil environment. The staff is amazing. Amber, the Inn Keeper, could not be more accomodating and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay. We had the downstairs room and were able to bring the baby monitors and have a separate after-baby-bedtime hang out space in the evening, just next door in the den. Pretty special when it comes to hotel travel. The staff were really accommodating and sweet with our babe too. Amber even held him while we ate breakfast. It is definitely more of a couples place but if you have a very quiet baby like ours, this is a wonderful do-able retreat. Lots of places to hang out outside too (hammocks and such upstairs). The pool is open but unheated. Just FYI, I tried reading reviews before coming for such info but couldn't find what I was looking for. Breakfast was small but delicious. The bathtub and bath products were lovely. Overall highly recommend if staying in Paso or en-route to Hearst Castle.

Yelp
Having just spent a fantastic weekend in Paso Robles--with Inn Paradiso being a large part of the "fantastic", I felt compelled to write my first Yelp review. I can't recommend this place enough... the setting is gorgeous, and the Inn itself is a mix between an eclectic, rustic vibe and a luxurious boutique hotel. The location is great- you are just a short drive into town- however, you'll find that you would probably rather stay on the property, exploring the various rooms, lounging by the pool, or enjoying a homemade breakfast on the patio. Inn Paradiso is one of my favorite hotel finds in a while.. and without a doubt, I plan on staying here in the future. This should be your top choice!

Yelp
I would definitely recommend Inn Paradiso, especially for a special, romantic getaway. Beautiful room, wonderful breakfast, friendly, helpful hosts. I was the only one using the pool while we were there. It was lovely, I couldn't reach the bottom! I'd go back in a heartbeat!!

Yelp
Just finished a three night stay at The Inn at Paradiso and loved everything about it! Our room was spacious and so comfortable with wonderful amenities. A huge double shower, a whirlpool tub, a fireplace, comfortable wood carved four poster bed. The Inn Keepers Colleen and Tanner were adorable ... very personable, hospitable and amazing healthy gourmet cooks. We looked forward to their awesome breakfast every morning. They were helpful in suggesting local restaurants and wineries and directions and maps. The property was well maintained, dog friendly, and lots of wonderful nooks and crannies to go explore. We had a very relaxing stay in a beautiful environment.

Yelp
My husband and I loved Inn Paradiso! We stayed for two nights mid-week and had the place to ourselves. Our room, the Carlo Molino suite, was both comfortable and beautiful. The windows opened onto a lovely view of oak trees and we had easy access to the second floor verandah where we enjoyed the hammock. Amber, the Inn-keeper, made us feel at home with great conversation and a-mazing breakfasts and snacks. Overall Inn Paradiso had the hip feel of a property like the Ace in Palm Springs with a warm, laid back Paso vibe mixed in for good measure. We will definitely return!

Yelp
We had the good fortune to stay at Inn Paradiso on our wedding night and we could not have chosen a better place. It was beautiful and so comfortable. The room was gorgeous. The best part was when they texted us in the morning that breakfast was ready and we went down and had the best breakfast ever. There was ambient music playing in the background and we had fresh juice, and eggs benedict with smoked salmon, avocado, tomatoes and sprouts on homemade bread. The innkeepers were really cool, down to earth people and it just felt good. If you're looking for a boutique place that focuses on the details that are most important, stay here. Thank you to everyone at Inn Paradiso for their wonderful hospitality.

Yelp
We loved our stay here. The inn is beautiful and relaxing. The room was spacious and had every amenity we might need including a door opening to an old oak tree. Gorgeous. We loved the tequila tasting, the hammock and all of the small touches every where we turned. The inn keepers were generous with their time helping to plan our wine tasting route. The breakfasts were delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer but we would love to go back!

Yelp
EXCELLENT!!!! Worth every penny. Amber took last minute reservations (and I mean LAST MINUTE) and she was an excellent gracious hostess. She was professional, friendly, gave us our space and was attentive to our needs. I felt as if my husband and I were really special and it made our overnight stay so much more than we expected. The room was spacious and well made up - quite comfortable and the food was out of this world. Be sure to get the amazing vegetable soup - everything was fresh and tasty. The building and room fascinated my husband and we will definitely return. Don't miss this place!!

Yelp
This is a fabulous place hidden into the hills of Paso Robles. Service was impeccable, food was excellent and healthy to boot. We were close to all the vineyards and were able to go to several and enjoy the wine as well as the beauty of the area. Inside our suite there was a spa tub that was wonderful as well as a fireplace and I can't say enough about the attention to detail this room and Inn have taken into account. For example over the spa tub - homemade bath salts were in a wooden dish with a spoon to pour into tub and outside as we explored the Inn we found an antique bottle next 2 shots poured and a sign that that said welcome. As far as the Inn itself it is naturally beautiful from the outside fall landscape to the well though out seating areas all over the grounds. We can't wait to go back.
