Inna’s Super Spicy Ginger Is the Best Snack for Ginger Lovers | Eater

"Made by a Bay Area jam maker that recently branched into ginger, this product is essentially ginger jerky: thin-sliced, dehydrated ginger very lightly dressed with sugar and apple cider vinegar so the ginger flavor stays dominant rather than being overwhelmed by sweetness. The heat is immediate and intense—described as traveling straight up the nose—burning the mouth, throat, sinuses and head, yet tempered by a bit of sweetness and a faint vinegar tang. A crisp-chewy texture makes the pieces compulsively snackable while still satisfying to chew, and although not marketed as medicinal they work well after a big meal or to soothe an irritable stomach. The reviewer was so taken that after finishing a three-ounce sample they ordered two 13-ounce bags and happily spooned the ginger dust from the bottom, noting a near-familial, genetic craving for particularly gingery fare inherited from a maternal grandmother." - Rebecca Flint Marx

Google
ABSOLUTE BEST JAM CHUTNEY PRESERVE CREATORS. THE FIG FENNELWHICH I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH T9 GET an off inventory jar of because they contacted me via email out of appreciation for my love for it is my all time favorite fruit in a jar ever for sandwiches . Apricot chutney next up then the plum chutney which they just ran out of and the peach hibiscus. Bummed they are closing end of year but its an absolute priv having good people make fruit into fun delicious pairings or pure jam while still keeping the natural essence of Mother nature alive. Looking forward to stocking up on whatever I can rest of the year. My first taste of a pluot was through their jam and its delicious. THANK YOU INNAJAM! YOU GUYS MAKE MAG8C AND ROCK!GOOD LUCK FORWARD. I know I WILL MISS YA'LL.

Google
The Seascape Strawberry Jam is revelatory. Takes me back to my California days of fresh strawberry rhubarb pies made with strawberries from the backyard. The price might seem high but one taste and it's over. I'd pay double what they charge for these heavenly strawberries.

Google
If you like apricots- there is nothing better than their Blenheim apricot jam. My husband brought me back some from a business trip- and I quickly realized that one jar wasn't going to cut it. So I ordered around 24 more and became a jamvangelist. It's been a much remarked upon gift when I've given a jar to friends, family, or coworkers. Fantastic stuff!

Google
I received the Black Mission Fig and Four Citrus Marmalade as a Christmas gift and they are both amazing. A spoon full of the fig jam on plain yogurt may be one of the best things I've ever eaten.

Google
Awesome jam! I love strawberry jam, and i have been looking for years for a jam with lots of fruit that is not overloaded with sugar. I finally found it in Inna Jam via Good Eggs, and i was so glad to see that it was local(ish) to me. Thank you!

Sasha Grinshpun

Google
The best jam, but my favorite product is the salted Meyer lemon. The shrubs are also amazing, either with carbonated water or mixed into cocktails.

Just tried the apricot chutney on toast and goat cheese. Amazing 🤩

Yelp
I don't think you're ready for this jelly... Ok, it's technically jam. But seriously, you ain't ready! The "Plenty Spicy Jalepeno" is amazing on everything: omelets, quinoa, scones, mixed with some feta, or just straight out the jar. It's like a cross between a relish, a chutney, and a jam - with just enough sweet and spicy to keep you wanting more. After hearing Dafna (not to be confused with INNA, who is not a real person), explain how she makes her jams by carefully scouting the local farmers who provide her fruit, using the all the fruit while it's fresh, and delivering everything -yes, everything! - via bicycle, just ups my respect. And we all know, respect makes everything taste better. You can find INNA goods at only the hip-est local cafes (Actual, for one), and in-the-know gourmet grocers. Or just keep an eye out for Dafna on her bike, and she'll surely peddle something sweet for ya. Mmm, keep jammin' girl!

Yelp
First heard of INNA Jam when I got a grilled cheese sandwich from Homeroom and i bought my first jar from Eat Real Festival. Ever since, I absolutely love their jams. Their most popular jam is their jalapeño jam, its actually surprisingly mild with a tiny sweet kick. (For a regular spicy eater) My intake of fruit lacks, I do however likely fruits when it prepared in different ways and processed (I mean this in the most conversation manner). For that reason alone, I explore for the opportunity to try new and original things. One of my favorite methods is when t's preserved and jacked up with plenty of sugar. INNA jam is perfect for this. I'm totally become obsessed. INNA jam uses only fruits that are within a hundred miles from their kitchen. Moreover with the love from the community, their new commercial kitchen is crowded funded excessing the goal via kickstarter. Since then, their kitchen is now constantly produces delicious jars of jam and is shared. Like a good bottle of wine, each jar is carefully labeled the fruit it holds and where it is sourced. The glass jars are simple screw tops, they are very reusable. Their newest product is scrubs. A drink that very much reminded me of drinking vinegar. I can imagine this sour drink can easily be mixed in with some cocktails. ----- + Pro: Delicious jams you can't go wrong with. - Con: ???????? \( ^,^)/ Overall: A favorite to get some local jam.

Yelp
1. Jalapeno 2. Fresno Chili 3. Strawberry 4. Tayberry 5. Kiwi 6. Pluot My top choices. I went to the Yelp field trip where the owner explained her process of getting into the Jam making business which is really inspiring. The Jalapeno is her first creation and top seller and I can see why. She said she searched all over the place to buy a jalapeno jam and couldn't find a place so decided to try to make her own and it all seemed to start from there. I ended up buying a bottle and normally I wouldn't spend $12 (discounted to $10 for us that day) to buy a a bottle of jam but I felt like I wouldn't be able to get this stuff anywhere else. When you try the Jalapeno and the Fresno Chili it is best to do so with cream cheese. The Fresno Chili reminds me of this warm red pepper dip that you pour over cream cheese that my mom usually makes over the holidays yummy! The great thing about her jams is that she uses mostly fruit 70/30 where as most jams are mostly sugar and you can taste the difference. Don't tell my mom but I like her strawberry way better. Inna jams can also be found at Whole Foods so I have a place nearby to restock. Be sure to ask your local grocer if they have Inna Jams, if not, the owner said they might be able to work with your grocer to start to selling the jams there.

Yelp
I read so many rave reviews of this business on this website that I wanted to buy their jam immediately - no questions asked. INNA Jam was at the Eat Real Festival today. Even though I sampled the jams from Company Jam (raspberry), Grandma's (apricot) and Blue Chair Fruit Company (peach and blood orange hibiscus), I do have a favorite jam among the flavors - blackberry. INNA Jam had the blackberry jam. One little spoon sample had me raving and craving for this wonderful jam. A ten ounce jar for $10...pricey, but well worth it. There's no artificial taste and no high fructose syrup...just three ingredients - triple crown blackberries, organic unrefined cane sugar and fruit pectin. This is by far the best blackberry jam that I have tasted...okay Trader Joe's and Nob Hill step aside on your blackberry jams (love your jams), but I have found "Nirvana" INNA Jam. There's a new jam in my house and I'm gonna have it with my croissant and tea tomorrow morning. I don't believe INNA Jam is gonna be a "slow" jam, but a "fast" one in disappearing real quick.

Yelp
Inna Jam makes super delicious jams. My nerves pinch when I think of the price, but their jams are stand alone stars. I've tried the jams from the famous French maker Christine Ferber in Paris, and they don't come close. Frog Hollow Farms jams are also quite delicious. Inna Jam is the Jam.

Yelp
I checked out their open house event where they made their products available to taste along with some crackers and coffees. It's worth a stop to try these organic, locally sourced products AND THEN it was a little discounted for the event as well. You can buy for yourself or gifts.. It can be complimentary boxed and gift wrapped. There's a great assortment of jam and you can do so much with it if not just slather it on some bread. There's also shrubs. They sell the syrup and you can take it and mix with soda water on your own or add it to cocktails. A little card of recipe ideas will be given with the shrubs. Lastly, preserved meyer lemons.. I've yet to try it but next open house.. it's on my to-try list. But I love jams and shrubs... I love that it's local and organic. I love this small business. I felt like they took care of me and I look forward to giving these gifts and sharing INNA Jam with others. ..but it's hard because I want to keep it all for myself.

Yelp
I love this jam. I love this girl. I have found myself eating the Seascape Strawberry with a spoon straight out of the jar. I have also just stuck my finger in it and licked it clean. I have no shame when it comes to this jam. I'm hot, sticky sweet, from head down to my feet YEAH! (name that tune, yo) I have had the pleasure of drinks and jam with this lovely lady, this jam maker extraordinaire. I have had my own special peach jam made with peaches made from my back yard once upon a time before this magical business blew up. Dafna is my fruit savior. She is fluent in fruit. She is fluent in flavor. FLA-VAH, I say! I am so excited she has a spot right in Emeryville close to my home. I'm selfish. I bring visitors there. I tell people what flavors to get me as gifts. I also hoard jars to myself. I love the jalapeno, the seascape strawberry, the quince, the....oh, everything. Her latest product, the Shrub is great. I'm a sucker for tangy things. I love vinegar, I love spice, I love all that makes my breath not so nice. I bought some quince shrub to enjoy with some mint, vodka and seltzer water at home. I am hooked. If you don't know what it is, look it up. Go get some. Summer is coming and you will need a refresher. I get excited with every local, creative and flavorful feat this girl comes up with. My taste buds yearn for more.

Yelp
I love Inna Jams! I get their jam through Good Eggs, and this is the best strawberry jam i've ever had. Lots of strawberries, not that much sugar which is awesome . This jam is more fruity and not as jello-y. If i can't get this jam through Good Eggs anymore, i am going to have to go to their website and get my hands on some strawberry jam.

Yelp
INNA Jam's jam reminds me of the "Friend's" episode where Monica is on a jam-making kick and Joey is in love with her jams and is crushed to find out that there's no more jam... after he's eaten it all with a spoon and is using his finger to get the last bit out of the jar. "No more Jam?" :( Yup, that's pretty much what I wanted to do during the tasting of INNA Jam's jam. After we toured her new kitchen set up, we were all given a hunk of acme bread baguette and were set loose tasting berry jams, stone fruit jams, and spicy jams. YUM! I could've eaten it all by the spoonful... and that's why I bought myself a jar and have been making scones and buttermilk biscuits, simply as a delivery vehicles of JAM. My favorites in (order of preference): 1.) Tayberry - (bought this one) A tayberry is a cross between a blueberry and raspberry and blends the strengths of both fruits, it starts off blueberry sweet and then transitions to raspberry tart, and the seeds are almost indiscernable and add a nice texture (unlike raspberry jam with too much seeds). 2.) Kiwi - Has a subtle sweetness and is lightly acidic 3.) Fresno chili - Spicy sweet, but not too sweet or spicy, great consistency. I love that her jams consist of fruit, sugar, and pectin, and that it's all local and organic AND you can have jam delivered to you by BIKE. The fact that the jams are so simple (in ingredients) truly allow the complexity of the fruit flavors to SHINE, and Daphne knows her fruit and has certainly done thorough tasting research to find the best varietals of each fruit that makes the most flavorful jams---naturally!!!! Finally, at $10 for a 10 oz jar, it is a bit pricey, HOWEVER, it is worth every penny for this superior product. No more inferior grocery store jam. Smucker's who? Discovered as a part of Yelps Field Trip.

Yelp
Quality over price. I got my first jar in my Albert & Eve produce order this week (polka raspberry) and let me tell you this jam is all it's cracked up to be. Fresh with the best organic ingredients kept in mind, I'm so glad I decided to try a jar because now I'm a sucker for some. I spread some a top my whole wheat fruit bar, lightly toasted and boy oh boy it has now replaced my lemon curd which I've been accustomed to lately. Now that INNA JAM's kickstarter project was funded, I'll have to keep my mouth open for some more jam lovin. Since I frequent Farmer's Market's in the Tri-Valley, my hope is to stumble upon some in my future. Here's to some tasty-az jam!

Yelp
I went to the Yelp field trip for INNA Jam (get it?? it's a pun :D ) and got to taste all the flavors of jam that she makes. She uses local ingredients that can be found within 100 miles of the east bay and only the freshest fruits. Her homemade jam's stay true to their flavors, are not overly sweet, and doesn't contain additional preservatives. The jalepeno jam was the original jam that spawned a business but my favorite was the kiwi jam.

Yelp
This Jam is very delicious and not too sweet, slightly tart. I could not give 4 stars due to the extreme price point.

Yelp
Wow, INNA Jam may be the best jam I've ever had. I can't imagine any scenario where my wife and I went to their store in Emeryville, and I ended up dropping $100 on Jam. Even crazier that it's all natural and the only ingredients are fruit, sugar and pectin. Hopefully it doesn't go bad. The Pluot and Apricot are just plain ridiculous.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Heavenly jam. And their shrub is superb. I am drinking it endlessly with my fizzy water.

Yelp
This was the jam that pretty much ruined me from all other stuff. I had been a super happy eater of the stuff from Smucker's, thinking that this was the benchmark for what jams/preserves/jellies tasted like. Then one day my roommate scored a couple jars after we'd let this nice gal have at it with our lemon tree. I spread some of it on my breakfast muffins and realized there was no syrupy taste. The ingredients list was short and simple. It didn't last more than two weeks in our place - we'd eaten it all. Scoring additional jars became trickier and over time, I was happy to find these a little more easier to come by. If you're a big fan of fruit spreads made with actual fruit and little else, you can't go wrong wtih this stuff.

Yelp
I emailed the warehouse in emeryville to come by and get the variety pack of mini shrubs. Someone responded right away. It was a small area where they were packing boxes. I was able to taste all the flavors and even bought an extra meyer lemon marmalade. There is a nice mini playground across the street.

Yelp
Wow! Who knew that fruit could taste this way! My husband and I recently went on the Yelp field trip to INNA Jam. It was so great to meet the one woman behind the vision and hear her process and her goals. Daphne (the owner) is great. She is very conscious of everything she does. Her priorities are buying the freshest, variety of fruits and peppers from local, conscious human beings. From beginning to end she walks her talk. She buys from farmers that she personally meets and talks with and has a relationship with. She mans her kitchen and is aware of everything going on. She said that she is so concerned with hygiene and cleanliness that they literally wash there hands every 4 minutes and that the jars are sterilized 4 times. She delivers her products too! How? ON HER BICYCLE!! She has a cart on the back that she loads with product and delivers on her bike or Bart. You can feel the consciousness, love and prayer in her food. While her products are sold in many stores, I suggest you visit her location when it opens. She will have a showroom and if you are lucky you'll get to meet her. Now, on to jams! It is very hard to pick one favorite. I think for me it was the chili jam. OMG! SO YUMMY! If you are a sweet & savory person, grab a cracker, a little cream cheese and spread some of this jam on it. SO GOOD! Betcha' can't eat just one! My husband loved the Tayberry Jam. What is a tayberry you might ask...I did. It is a combination of a blackberry and a raspberry and it is good. The freshness and quality of her fruit is really amazing. Because of this, the jam tastes different. She adds no preservatives or anything you wouldn't want in your body, but she says she is often asked if she added extract because it has such rich fruit flavor. We couldn't decide which one so we bought both. We plan to use the chili one for party appetizers next week. All and all we loved everything about INNA Jam. It is worth every penny! Thanks Daphne for your vision and commitment to excellence on every level!

Yelp
The best jams, period. Buying on site assures best possible selection and potential for tasting. Shrubs are dynamite with bubbly water.

Yelp
I came here on the Yelp field trip as well. The owner was definitely an inspiration. It all started with her wanting to buy some jalapeno jelly, but couldn't find any. So, she decided to make her own. I was a little surprised about the price for a jar of her jam and thought it was a little pricey ($12), until I tried them. I tried most of her jams and there wasn't one that I didn't like. I also really loved her strawberry jam, which I tend to stay away from only because I feel bad for all the other jams/jellies sitting on the shelf. But hearing her speak about her company and the making process, you can tell that she is very passionate about it and you can taste that passion in her jams. Really, I now don't care about paying $12 for a jar. It's definitely worth it and I look forward to replenishing my cupboard when I run out!

Yelp
I have tried some of their jams at different events around the Bay. I loved their tayberry jam. Tayberry is so delicate and refreshing in taste.
google avatar

Gil S.

Yelp
I randomly ended up with a jar of the jalapeno jam, what a treat. Nice flavor for sure, I've had a lot of pepper jams but this one is something special.

Thomas K.

Yelp
They use pectin in the jam which is not how it traditionally is done. Good fruit, a touch of sugar is all you need. Flavors are OK from what I have tried. I was thinking of trying the jalapeño but that 1 star review changed my mind.

Yelp
While attending an event in Alameda this afternoon, my husband and I had the pleasure of sampling INNA Jam's delicious Hungarian Pepper Jam! Served on a cracker with a smear of cream cheese, it's a simple yet favorable appetizer...not too spicy, not too sweet...perfect! We look forward to trying other varieties as well!
google avatar

Yelp
In a jam no more :) Dafna has really struck gold with this "stuff"! It's amazing! I was introduced to INNA Jam via the "Yelp East Bay Field Trip 2012" and thought, ok, may-y-y-y-be I'll get something out of this tour. Well, what I got was blown away! Absolutely! I was overwhelmed by the awesome variety and purity of flavors. I left with with 2 jars (Jalapeno and Apricot) and disappointment that I was too broke to get more :) "We be jammin' " at my house now, so I'll be back. - One Love :)
google avatar

Shawn C.

Yelp
The Hungarian Pepper jam is fantastic! Agreed it is an odd flavor for a jam but with a savory cracker and cream cheese--it is outrageously good! You must try it!

Howard S.

Yelp
I can't believe how long I've spent trying to leave this review! I am a physician w/an MBA. TONITE my nice opened a shipment from this company that wanted to charge her husband forwarding postage for 2 jams that were part of a subscription gift he had given her for a year. In the package was a card from the company saying "they were sorry my nice didn't feel the jams were worth the cost of purchase...maybe she might think of REGIFTING them" ... What a sad shadow to cast on themselves.
