"Inna’s Kitchen — a Boston Public Market vendor that was originally located in Newton and recently opened a different location in Newton — serves Jewish cuisine, from knishes to latkes. There’s shakshuka (poached eggs, tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions, and spices, with zhug and pita on the side, plus optional additions of avocado, feta, or both), and there are also “shakalatkas” (eggs over latkes with shakshuka sauce, feta, sour cream with zatar, and zhug)." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

DINNER REVIEW Inna's had been on my list for a while since it served traditional Jewish food in an artisanal food space (the Boston Public Market). I had heard you have to get the shakalatkes (shakshuka plus latkes, a very enticing concept) so I, of course, ordered those plus a falafel pita. Service was quick and we sat down with our food pretty quickly. The falafel pita was good, the falafel tasted fresh, as did the toppings. I would get that one again. However, the shakalatkes were a little disappointing. I felt like the shakshuka took over the whole thing and it was just the sauce overpowering the soggy patties of potatoes. I think a larger and crispier latke would have provided a better overall eating experience. I would come back for the falafel, not for the shakalatkes

Google
EXCELLENT food AND service. If you’d like to taste few of the most popular Israeli and Jewish kitchen dishes - this is certainly the place. Located inside the market. You’d better know they also offer gluten free options so what else can one ask for? Will come again (and again... and again!) 👏👏👏

Angel Latterell

Google
So tasty! Really helpful and kind staff. Had the shakshuka - best egg dish with tomato I've ever had.

My wife and I love the breakfast here. I usually order the plain challah French toast, two slices because three is too much for me (how I wish that were not true). My wife loves the matzo chicken soup (and so does my two year old son, he must have been Jewish in a previous life because he loves Jewish cuisine).

Adriana Kopinja

Google
Oh So delicious! I rarely go out for lunch, because there is not to many places that have healthy options. If you are happy with Cheese Cake Factory do not go to Inna's place. They are way to tasty and healthy for you, haha! No, really, to be serious, few of my friends recommended the place and I finally tried it. I ate my shawarma and had to finished my toddler's pancake... just because it was as fluffy as it gets. I will be definitely going back. Hidden gem of Newton. Service was also great!

Google
So much flavor. The food is wonderful, the folks who work here are kind. It has a comfortable neighborhood vibe. The meat is kosher and comes from happily raised animals. They use fair trade coffee and chocolate. I highly recommend their catered food as well.

Rogelio Ellner

Google
In all fairness, this wasn't quite what we were looking for. We were looking for brunch with GF DF offerings. This is a tiny Jewish deli with very limited seating. Much better suited to take out. I was pleased to be able to order GF DF Challah French Toast, but was disappointed that they were out of the cinnamon swirl. That being said, the Pastrami hash was very good & my family enjoyed their sandwiches & wedge fries. I'd recommend it for lunch, but not so much for breakfast. Excellent fresh squeezed OJ was a big plus.

Kellie Burton

Google
Our friends took us here when we asked if they wanted to get brunch. You can get breakfast and you can get lunch. I say it counts. I went with the challah French toast and a side of the pastrami hash. Both were absolutely phenomenal! Three pieces of toast so I out one in the middle of the table as "community toast"

Yelp
Walked in to see what was in here. I didn't think it was that big until I started walking around. There are quite a few places to grab food! Seating available throughout. Multiple entrances / exits. FYI - Have to make a purchase and ask for the code for the restroom.

Kristen S.

Yelp
Love this little unassuming gem! So so many options. Bagels, coffee, ice cream, donuts, spices, pasta, pizza, popovers-oh my! Right next door to the hotel we stay at. Great spot if you don't want to venture too far-like today when there are record lows. If you park in Haymarket garage they validate your parking.

Yelp
"Sweethearts kiss down at the market. Down at the market all the world Seems to simmer" (Jethro Tull) What a fun place to shop and stroll! They house 30 or so local artist and food vendors so you can shop for fresh foods, prepared meals, crafts, and specialty items. They have it ll here, pretty much anything you can think of for home use or for a really nice gift - fresh produce, meat and poultry, eggs, dairy, seafood, baked goods, specialty items, crafts, and prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Everything here has a New England connection. We were in Boston scouting out activities for a 2025 Convention and we were so happy to chat with Laurel from Laurel Greenfield Art about collaborating on a hands-on painting opportunity for our guests. She was fantastic and so very helpful. We chatted with her for a good half hour.

Grace X.

Yelp
Super cute market with a nice variety of vendors, including several that offer vegan options. I had a panini from Jennifer Lee's (an all vegan and gluten free cafe) which was delicious. Plenty of seating and the whole place is pretty well maintained and clean. I came in October, and there was also some fall festivities going on and they had these awesome GIANT pumpkins.

Yvette C.

Yelp
Lots of eateries inside the market. Vendors were in stalls. Food was throughout and variety - sandwich place, pasta, bagels, seafood, ramen, pastries,a bar, ice cream and even a fruit stand. Great that its indoors and location is down the road from Quincy Market

Roya J.

Yelp
Not withstanding parking, great stop to come in for a bite, drinks, and whatever else. Lots of spots and a wide variety of food, drinks and other specialty shops are located inside the market. Definitely worth a check.

Marilu F.

Yelp
Wow, this place is definitely worth a visit. Both inside and outside, there are vendors galore. Need groceries? Bagels? Coffee? Donuts? It's all here! The market is constantly abuzz and you may find it difficult to find a place to sit, but don't let that deter you. It's worth a stop. We had breakfast there (separate review coming) and had it not been that I found it worrisome to transport peppers back to Florida, I'd have definitely gotten some of those, too. Again, lots of variety. You'd be hard pressed to find something that does not interest you.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Come here to say you e been. Nothing really to hype up here. Do the freedom trail and make it a quick stop.

Shwe N.

Yelp
in my personal experience and opinion, i found it kinda underwhelming... but nice vendors and food indoors. it was more quiet and smaller than i had expected but its still surrounded by saur many other establishments and things to do!

Aya R.

Yelp
The Boston Public Market is a local staple for tourists. Accessible by the green and orange lines, I mostly recommend stopping by if you're in need of a bite to eat. Compared to other cities, it's pretty small but they have a nice variety of things that fit various dietary needs. Can hit different stands if people like different things. They also have a few non-food vendors. Sometimes they have events and/or live music!

John W.

Yelp
The boston public market is a cool place in Boston to stop and shop around. They had some pretty cool unique shops, and the staff was very friendly. We had fun playing checkers and connect 4 too. It's a little small, but still a fun experience

Michael M.

Yelp
There's nothing "wrong" with this place as a public market... per se... it's just not what I envision when I think of a public market. If those words conjure images in your head, like... colorful mountains of fresh produce, fish stalls and just caught seafood, farmers hawking their locally harvested wild plants, well, me too, and you'll be in for a disappointment like I was. This is an indoor flea market basically, with an entire aisle devoted to run of the mill commercial beers, a few snack vendors, and a bunch of crafty stuff. Everyone is friendly, everyone is helpful, everything is just pricey enough to remind you that you're at a tourist destination, but nothing is "Oh my god I have to get this one Boston only thing." Lots of better ways to spend the hour or two this place takes to fully explore.

Denise A.

Yelp
This is a super and most clean and well organized space filled with prepared and takeaway food and products and a large variety of vendors--not all food. There are some indoor picnic style tables available to eat in. From soup to nuts to donuts to popovers, there is a great selection of what I understand to be Boston based businesses. Awesome! We enjoyed looking and talking to some of the vendors and businesses present. Many offer samples upon request. Right outside is a huge produce/farmers market with so many fresh and well priced produce-sure this is seasonal but unaware of schedule. There are clean restrooms available, this location is close to T and 25 min walk to train station. Great place to check out.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Out of all the city 'food courts,' I think the public market beats the others - High Food Place and Hub Hall. The Public Market was also the first of them all. If offers many selections with a wide variety of options, ie: popcorn and apples, ramen, seafood, asian noodles, and specialty shops like donuts, bagels, nuts, plants, wooden bowls... you name it, and even a small store that sells alcohol. The one drawback is that there is not enough public seating/tables for the number of stores and foot traffic it gets. Great location - right near Haymarket (Fri and Saturdays), the North End, Gov't Center, Financial District, and the other gov't buildings. I personally love Bon Me - the Vietnamese spot - where I always get the soba noodles. Others love the vegan bakery that is located near it. I also noticed that they added a small bar, next to the alcohol store, so people can pull up a stool and get a beer, to get out of the heat or snow, while doing some shopping.

Frances L.

Yelp
Great Public Market with food, seafood market, drinks and more. We came specifically for Red's Seafood but it was fun to browse the market. Definitely a nice stop while walking around Boston.

Ashley T.

Yelp
This is the market to come to if you are going to a market in Boston. We went to a few other markets but Boston Public Markets was our favorite. Nothing here felt like it was part of a chain (not sure if it was or not) and everything was delicious. We walked around a few times to get the lay of the land first but in order to make the best decision, I think that was a good call. While we were doing our initial laps we stop by a little shop in the market and grabbed a drink. The drinks were very well priced, which I was actually pretty shocked about. We ended up grabbing food from The Popover Lady (my favorite), a pasta place, a deli and a doughnut shop. On the way out we even got an apple cider. Everything was good and there was plenty of seating.

Sophia M.

Yelp
My first time here was very fun! I made purchases at the following places (and stopped by many others): 1. Laurel Greenfield's art: I bought two ornaments to give as gifts, and my sister got a few prints from the online shop. Laurel was very charismatic and helpful, and is an incredibly talented artist! 2. Bon Me: I got the salad with paprika tofu, and it was probably the best thing I've eaten on my visit to Boston. Perfect portion, very fresh veggies, great flavors and textures. I appreciate that the dietary restrictions/allergies are clearly identified on the ordering kiosk because I am vegan. I also got the Thai basil limeade and it was delicious. 3. The liquor alley (I forget the name, but you'll see it): Lots of choices! They have a lot of locally-brewed hard ciders in one fridge and some wine/seltzer singles. They even have CBD/THC drinks which I don't see too often. I got a hard kombucha for the first time (it tasted like fruity beer) and it was reasonably priced. All of the people running booths were really nice and it feels like a lot of care goes into making the products/foods here. It was also very easy to get here because the market is really close to the subway.

Kim S.

Yelp
If you like a little less mayhem when you're in the historic district, this is a great option. It's an inside market place with several businesses and eateries. We tried the popovers in a variety of flavors. The lady was kind enough to warm them up for us. She included butter and jam. We found a place to sit and eat. We then ate an incredible pastrami sandwich which was the best I've probably had. Nice place to buy produce and other things.

Jpb T.

Yelp
Make sure that you check out the outdoor parts. The prices on fresh seafood can't be beat if you have a safe way to cook it. Prices on fresh fruit and whole veggies were very low. Who ever put up the Irish flag, thank you. A lot of American's in Boston have Irish ancestors.

Clare C.

Yelp
Came here and had a great time! Lots of options inside the market which was really fun! I decided to go to Perillas! So happy with my choice! I got the beef bowl and was so happy with it. The flavors worked so well together and it felt really fresh with all the veggies! The price was fair for $15. I was full afterwards but was sad when it was gone. Would definitely come back!

Jay M.

Yelp
Not worth parking cost to visit Pastrami sandwich at the Boston pastrami place awful. Popover place overrated, donuts place and others not worth time... walk across to North end for better options

Kajal P.

Yelp
Boston Public Market's stores and shops had just a comfy and home atmosphere I haven't found in the city yet. I was able to go a few times, once during Sunday brunch hour - which wasn't too crowded, and once on Friday evening. Both times, the store owners and staff were super nice and friendly as I explored their menu. I loved my Mother Juice and bagel combo, and I will be back to try more!

Gin Y.

Yelp
BPM has such a great vibe. It's a bright and colorful indoor market with several vendors and lots of seating. Had we had more time in Boston, we would've hit up more vendors. But, we stuck to trying Red's Seafood because it was so delicious. We were also able to snag tables in a corner that wasn't crowded. Red's has a lot of fresh seafood for purchase, as well as made to order seafood items to buy. We loved their cold lobster roll, fish and chips, clam chowder, and crab cakes. The lobster meat in their roll was seafood sweet and cooked perfectly to the right texture. I loved the freshness of the celery and cilantro with the lobster: Their bun was perfectly buttered and toasted as well. It was pricey, though. The crab cakes have a lot of meat in them, which I appreciated. Since a lot of times, there's usually more batter than crab meat. The crab meat was sweet and delicious too. The fish and chips were the best value and quality. The fried haddock was crispy on the outside, while moist and flaky on the inside. The crispy fries that went with it were great. It was seasoned well too. We definitely got our seafood fix here. We did try apple cider donuts from another vendor called red apple farm. They were just ok. We didn't taste any apple in them, and it wasn't as fluffy as we'd like. We did like the copious amounts of cinnamon sugar coating these donuts, which made them feel like autumn. However, I will say pike place market's mini donuts were more tasty than these donuts. There were so many other vendors we haven't tried yet. There were vendors selling coffee, donuts, pasta, pastrami sandwiches, and even popovers. When we do visit Boston again, we'll try out these other vendors.

Steve A.

Yelp
A good way to sample the small businesses around the Boston area. Boston Public Market is a pretty good sized indoor market. It has lots of interesting vendors. Get things like cookies, nuts, and produce. The prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing. Inside there's so much to check out and you can get several meals in here if you can afford it. It had a couple of donut places. There's a big area of produce. Some trendy cafes. Worst thing is the high prices. It's expected. You have to expect it because it's Boston and this is full of artisan and hipster stuff. Has an outdoor dining area out the back entrance. It gives you a nice view of North End Park and the Greenway. The stuff here is expensive so unfortunately you can't buy too much unless you're loaded but it's fun to look around and get a few things.

Nola F.

Yelp
This is a terrific market where you can find lots of quality food. I ordered a very tasty corned beef sandwich. The quality of the meat was superb. The bread was very fresh. I also bought some boxed pasta that was made locally to bring home. They had some very pretty and unique flowers but I was not going home for over a week. Otherwise I would have bought a couple bunches. They had some festive music playing. We cane here twice. There was so much to see. The only negative is a lot of the vendors seem to close before 5pm. So we missed out on a a few places. This market is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Sunny P.

Yelp
The Boston Public Market is a open market in the first floor of a building just off Hanover Street in downtown Boston. There are plenty of shops inside ranging from a bar, to an ice cream shop, to a hand made wooden art stand. And really they have everything in between. They had fun seat options and games spread around from people to sit and play at. There are also public restrooms inside that are clean and well kept. The water fountain lacked pressure, but they also had a bottle refill station. The only thing we didn't love was everything was very expensive inside. Most places were $2-4 over what you pay just a few blocks away. It does have a nice vibe inside and is still a good place to stop and rest!

Kristen H.

Yelp
Fun spot near downtown... Easy to access on foot or by car or by subway. Except I think in Boston they call it the T... More of an indoor food court than a fruit and veg market. Lots of options for dining. Some spots to eat inside or parks nearby if you choose to take away. Clean fresh space public bathrooms also available.

Natalie I.

Yelp
Lovely indoor food market with tons of restaurants, vendors, and spots to grab a drink. Perfect to hang out with friends, family, etc.

Justine B.

Yelp
Cute little market with a variety of different vendors. Lots of vegan and gluten free options for breakfast, lunch, and dessert. They have a lock on the bathrooms, but you can ask any vendor for the code and they will give it to you. Good amount of seating to enjoy your food indoors.

Shaina P.

Yelp
First off, I love Boston. Second, I love places that offer an indoor smorgasbord of food options particularly when they feature local goods. Now.. the BPM hardly has the bustle of the Philly Terminal Market but it certainly has a little something for everyone including after-dinner local beers and spirits! A note for newbies, the website doesn't do justice for the hot food options offered on the daily. Specialty Vendors like Red's delivers fresh fish to buy on the spot AND prepared foods for lunch/dinner (lobster rolls, fish and chips, oyster po' boys, etc.), Seven Hills Pasta provides prepared meals, and of course the Pastrami place has sooo many sandwiches on its menu. Don't forget Crescent Ridge for ice cream! Of course, the vendors listed as fast casual are exactly as stated: hot food. And good hot food. This place should not be missed if you're visiting Boston. Fanueil Hall is right next door so you won't miss a beat.

Evangeline K.

Yelp
Nice variety of shops, decent local events. Has water fountains and small children's play area. Bathroom code: 1630

Minly L.

Yelp
I love the vibe of this market. It was a much more chill and inviting atmosphere in comparison to other markets I've been to (but also I visited on a Friday). There are a variety of produce inside and out of the market, plus a bunch of cute photo opportunities.

Lea Ann E.

Yelp
The variety of food stalls is amazing. Something for everyone. We were there for breakfast and tried Popover lady, George Howell coffee, and Bagel Guild. Would love to go back for another meal. Bagel guild was a great price point.

Cam S.

Yelp
It's cheery, colorful and vibrant. Plenty of different food and drink options. Nice for a quick bite or a beer. It's conveniently located downtown -- next to Faneuil Hall and a MBTA stop.

Gretchen I.

Yelp
Nice variety of goods. Enjoyed food and coffee. Additional crafts included. Convenient stop with pleasant service at multiple days/hours. Location was good as is within walking distance to multiple hotels.

Araceli C.

Yelp
Kind empty market I just walk by and don't fined anything interesting Was more action and options in the quincy market

Emely R.

Yelp
Very modern and cool indoor local market place! Definitely has a local vibe and hippy feel to it which I love. They sale A little bit of everything including coffee, breakfast, seafood, organic juices, and other things to snack on or eat.

Evan M.

Yelp
Fun spot to check out in the Fanueil Hall area. This is an indoor market that has a lot of small, independent food service choices. There is seating in several places in the market. Under one roof we had an Asiago cheese popover, a delicious pastrami sandwich and roasted ginger cashews to go from three different vendors. To make a long story short, there should be something for everyone to try at Boston Public Market.

Elaine M.

Yelp
All vendors are friendly and can answer all questions about ingredients, fresh baked goods are truly a spiritual experience especially at Hearth and Hug. Prices reasonable . And so much variety, you'll never leave empty handed.

Jen R.

Yelp
Outdoor market and a cool indoor one.. they even have a stall that makes Popovers which is cool. They have local apple orchard that carries their products and you can also get a bite to eat. It's fun to check out.. it's a busy area and if your driving I believe they have a parking lot or something. Cheers.

Gerald H.

Yelp
It was cool walking in here the one morning even though I didn't do all my research and had us there before a lot of places were even open yet. Cool concept - like a collection of marketplace like opening with food, produce, and flowers etc. Despite being masked shamed bc my mask wasn't over my nose by some old fool, it was good to start the day for me. I would recommend coming in the late morning hours when everything is opened - not early.

Anita V.

Yelp
First of all, I am very impressed with this market. They have many many local grown plants and foods. I went on a food tour and we happened to stop in here. We had time to explore and during that time I went to a little shop called Petermans. They have handmade wooden bowls, spoons, and many other kitchen and decoration items. What I love is that they use trees that have already fallen down to make their products. They also donate a lot of the proceeds to deforestation prevention programs. Second place I'd like to recognize is the nut place. I can't remember what they are called but when you see them you will know. They had a very delicious and healthy variety. I loved trying the different kinds they had.

Kenny K.

Yelp
This place rules. If you show up in Boston and have a day where you don't know what you wanna do, I would recommend that you start here. Union square donuts is in here if you need some breakfast, and they have a great Moroccan spot that you could do for lunch or dinner. They also have some fresh produce in case you just need to snag some veggies. Kinda like an indoor farmers market. The only downside is that you have to have a code to use the bathroom. Other than that, it's great!

Anthony M.

Yelp
Saw this place on a lot of must do places in town and decided we had to make a stop. We planned to get a quick snack and get in and out, but that certainly didn't happen. Right when we walked in we found a cool wooden checkers table and got to playing. After that we walked around for a bit and ended up getting some Banana nuts from Qs nuts after getting an fantastic sample. Afterwards we talked with Peaches, who was the very knowledgeable and kind gentleman, who was running the shop. He let us know that this place is the most authentic food experience in Boston. Everywhere in here is required to be local so you know you're getting locally sourced food and of food quality. After this intriguing insight we walked around and got donuts from Apple Ciders (amazing!) and I got an Oyster Po Boy from Reds that was pretty good as well. This place is clean, has lots of good eating options and is local. What more can you ask for?

D E.

Yelp
The Boston Public Market is an indoor food court so this review covers three kiosks (because I'm too lazy to write three different reviews). Because it's close to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, all the tourists go there, so we chose to come here. The place was practically empty, making it easy and stress-free to walk around and browse the kiosks before having to decide. Plus, it was air conditioned and it was 90 degrees out. My two companions chose Mo' Rockin Fusion (Moroccan... get it?) They both ordered the lamb. One over cous cous, then other over rice. They also chose different sides. In short, they both agree that this was place to go to above all others. Their plates were actually heavy, for $13. 5/5 I went to Beantown Pastrami and ordered the Traditional for $10. I hate sandwiches that are skimpy with meat, so I watched them prepare it before ordering. It's not Katz's, but it was enough to satisfy. Since we were in the middle of our walking tour, I didn't want heavy Moroccan food. 3.5/5 I also ordered a cinnamon sugar popover. Simply put, get a popover! It was $3.50 and there are many options for toppings. While you're at it, definitely browse all the kiosks and I'm sure you'll find something interesting to buy.

Marissa G.

Yelp
It seems like the vendors at Boston Public Market change because I saw a few items I was looking forward to trying but weren't offered!! I can say that there is a new pasta place coming soon. This is a really cute spot to try some treats. They have crepes, cookies/donuts, coffee/espresso, sandwiches, lobster rolls, smoothies and more! This would be good for a group of friends as everyone can get something they enjoy but sit together. In addition to food they have really pretty flowers, a local artist selling her artwork, and a little beer store. It's a great spot to hit while walking around.

Jennifer O.

Yelp
This market is super cute! It's a medium sized indoor market with a variety of stalls. They have lots of prepared foods as well as a variety of fruits, veggies, and other ingredients. It was fun to walk around and see all of the local products. If you're nearby, check it out!

Marissa R.

Yelp
As far as public markets go, I really enjoyed this one. They have a pretty good selection of items, although pricey, it's fun to support local businesses. Honey, coffee, greeting cards, plants... you name it! They have food here as well; I didn't eat lunch here, but it looked way more appetizing and fresh than what you'll find in Faneuil Hall. My biggest complaint was that they were lacking in travel-sized items. Considering a lot of tourists come here, I was hoping to find a good selection of TSA-friendly local Boston goods that could come across the country with me during the holidays. Besides dry goods, I could only find 2 liquid options (Vermont syrup and a 1oz jam sample in only one flavor). Businesses could really expand by adding little sampler sets! Everyone working the stands was extremely friendly and gracious with the samples. I was able to find a really unique chocolate bar (made in MA), some artisanal teas/spices, and greeting cards-- all of which will make great gifts for my family who lives out of state. For a weekend, it was not too busy at all and didn't spark my irritation the way Faneuil Hall does. They also had a farmers market outside when I visited, but one of the farmers said it was only for that weekend. I will definitely be back!

Manish T.

Yelp
If we you want to try out different cuisine, this is a good place. you can walk to different counters and find different options. We tried out few places and they were good. Though you have to make sure that you tell them that you want vegetarian.
