Insomnia Cookies to Add Third Boston-Area Location | Eater Boston

"Located on Commonwealth Avenue near the Boston University campus and opened the year after the Cambridge shop, this outlet is geared toward late-night students: it delivers until 3 a.m. nightly and keeps the storefront open to 3 a.m. (extended to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday), serving warm cookies, cookie cakes, brownies, ice cream, “wiches,” and milk." - Terrence Doyle

Insomnia Cookies is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving something sweet late at night. The cookies are usually warm, soft in the middle, and super satisfying — especially the classics like Chocolate Chunk and Snickerdoodle. When they’re fresh out of the oven, they really hit the spot. That said, the experience can be a little inconsistent. During busy hours, wait times get long, and delivery can sometimes show up colder than expected. Prices are on the higher side as well, especially if you’re ordering multiple items or adding ice cream. Overall, though, it’s a fun late-night treat with a great variety of flavors, and the convenience is hard to beat. When they’re warm and fresh, they’re absolutely worth it.

Good dessert place; I got a brownie with ice cream, which was good, but not phenomenally good, which i was hoping it would be considering the fair, but higher-end price. Probably won't come back, but not a bad place if you want dessert and you're in the area.

Was excited to try this place with a few friends from college. We walked a few miles to try and upon arrival we found the place pretty packed which got my hopes up because I figured that meant they had some good cookies. Sadly this was not the case. We were left waiting for over an hour and the staff were only fulfilling online orders and completely neglected everyone who was waiting in store. I respectfully asked them if they were only taking online orders because they continued to start new orders as a slight nudge to maybe help some of us in store and was met with the words "you can wait" and an explicitive. I was taken back because I always make sure to be respectful to people who work in the service industry, but the response that I got was the final straw. I decided against giving them my business and left pretty disappointed and frustrated. If I could zero stars would be my review for poor management and disrespectful staff. 0/10 never going back.

The BEST cookies I’ve ever had! 🍪 They were right in front of my university, and every time I walked back to my apartment, I couldn’t resist grabbing some. Now that I’m back home in my country, I miss them so much—I’m craving them! My top favorites were the peanut butter 🥜 cookies, the double chocolate 🍫🍪, and of course, the s’mores 🤤

Despite the fact that my cookie-wich was an absolutely delectable and delicious treat, I am unfortunately unable to give this establishment more than a 1-star rating. Upon my recent pilgrimage to Insomnia Cookies, my group was left ignored, cookieless, and most certainly outraged at the inefficiency displayed by the staff that night. Although it is true that they were understaffed, the employees chose to prioritize online orders placed meer minutes ago over the plethora of in-person attendees who had been patiently queued in line for over an hour. Many people departed the crowded and sweaty building not with cookies, but with a sour expression and the taste of regret.

The young woman was so sweet to be serving me cookies 🍪 at 2:30 am. I Like people who stay kind under tough circumstances! This was my first Visit to Insomnia Cookies Ever! Was smooth, Thanks!

Cookies are toxic! My husband consumed the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie Saturday night (9/13/25) and was struck with food poisoning 30 minutes later. It seems you can contract food poisoning from eggs, flour and chocolate chips. Not sure if this was from a cross contamination situation from improper handling/storage of the dough. Beware!

Gave the two parties ahead of me free cookies but not me. Cookie also fell apart and basically had to be eaten with a spoon. Never patronizing this place again.
