Google
Amazing taste and customer service. First time at insomnia and the worker with the glasses and beard was very Nice and super efficient dealing with a lot of customers at once and e Sheung great service with a smile. He told me the sugar cookies would take a while to bake and was very patient giving me updates throughout has he handled the other order a and offering a cookie I had wanted after i had come back in to try one after having waited a long time for the cookies to finish cooking in the oven from my online order as he didn’t have sugar currently ready when i arrived. Love that the cookies were fresh and hot; he warned me to be careful as they are super hot and soft. Amazing experience would come again.

Max Z.

Google
The customer service is terrible. The "2 scoops" of ice cream was 1/3 of a scoop, had to ask to round it up to 3/4 of a scoop. Waited 30min for a horrible experience and dessert. Very unfriendly and hostile service.

emad A.

Google
To the staff who work the first shift on Fridays, this is the worst customer service I have ever received. It is unprofessional and, like many previous reviews have said, extremely hostile for no reason. I've been an "Insomniac "for several years now, but after my visit today, I will no longer be a customer. There are far too many other dessert options to be putting up with this. First of all, the issue started when the staff were pretty rude when I walked in. Ordering is another story, as it took over 10 minutes for anyone to come up to the register. Then, after I had ordered, it took another five minutes for them to put four cookies into a bag and hand it to me. All of this was done with such an attitude. Unless you are really craving cookies, save yourself the bad experience and buy something elsewhere.

Qiyue Z.

Google
I don’t usually eat cookies, but found myself craving some today, and thank goodness I did, because that unexpected craving led me to one of the kindest people I’ve ever met: Kafia! Her customer service completely blew my party away! The cookies were already SO delicious, but her kindness made them unforgettable! Truly one of the most heartwarming store experiences I’ve had in a long time :)

William R.

Google
7,50$ per cookies and subway's one are 300% time better, don't ever go there guys it's not worth it

natasha s

Google
Customer service needs improvement. The young man at the register is quite passive aggressive & rude as if he is doing something extremely difficult. He was nice to the couple infront of me and as soon as it was my turn entire demeanor changed saying “there’s two separate queues” when literally no one was waiting in line. I said “can i have three cookies please” he says “not until you tell me which ones” very rudely— looking at me like i’ve said something crazy. why is this type of commentary necessary? it’s not. I have worked & currently work in food service. Not how you treat customers. Do better.

J S

Google
Bad customer service. Cashier had attitude problems and made it visibly clear in a pissed off tone that he did not want to work here. Scooper was giving him problems but he converted that frustration into unfriendliness towards me. I ordered 2 scoops but if you add up the incomplete scoops I got, I’m pretty sure it’s just one scoop in total. Disappointed. He splashed some of the water that was washing the scooper onto the ice cream as well, is this even sanitary?

Adam S.

Google
Ordered cookies via doordash - insomnia delivers them directly. After over 3 hours I called for a refund and insomnia cookies just hung up on me. Doordash explained that Insomnia has to be the one to refund since they handle delivery of the order. Refusing to refund or deliver the order sure feels like fraud to me.

Yelp
The service was more than expected. Cookies, delicious as always. I really appreciate Seamus going way above and beyond for us. Thank you so much!!

Yelp
Amazing cookie and brownie, yummy ice cream. I get the brownie every time. Got the Cookie Dough and Dreamweaver ice cream

Yelp
Fabulous Insomnia Cookies! The Rebel Chef is always gettin' his cookie-monster on, at each Insomnia. As usual, these shops have great staff - somehow Insomnia always chooses all the right crew members! Delicious cookies + fantastic ice cream sandwiches. The best of all employees. Review: 5+

Yelp
Haven't had a chance to go in person, but my brother brought some over and I had the vegan chocolate chip and it was great! Will go in person and try more from here in the future forsure.

Yelp
Life's been busy but never busy enough to write a Yelp review! Yesterday my friend and I just happened to be in Harvard square craving a sweet treat and we opted for insomnia cookies. This store is located in the heart of Harvard square, parking in this area is very limited but there are few parking garages in the area as street parking is extremely limited. I wish I could give 5 stars but unfortunately the staff was not the friendliest, which I don't blame because the guy working behind the counter seemed to be the only one there. They menu consist of a great variety of different flavored cookies. One cookie cost less then 3$, which I consider to be a reasonable prices given the area the store is located in. When it comes to flavor the cookies tasted delicious, me and my friend opened for the chocolate chip one. Can't wait to be back and try more flavors.
google avatar

Natania C.

Yelp
The staff are extremely friendly. One gave me a giant free sample of ice cream. The cookies are also baked again for your tasting.

Bonni W.

Yelp
Came in for a single cookie after a big meal. Devon was so friendly and kind! Liked the chocolate chip cookie, but liked Devon even more look forward to going back and trying other flavors!

Yelp
I ordered 72 cookies for delivery from here for an event. There was a BOGO deal going on for 12 packs and a free shipping code on the website, so I spent less than $110 total including delivery and tip. I also emailed the company to get a tax exemption since I was ordering for a student group, and they responded and got it sorted within an hour. The cookies taste great, and I love that they have really great vegan options. Cookies were delivered on time and in good condition. Overall great food and customer service, highly recommend!
google avatar

Christina G.

Yelp
The cookies at Insomnia are so good! On this visit, I chose a deluxe chocolate peanut butter cup cookie. It was served warm and in a box. The texture was perfect- soft cookie and gooey peanut butter cup. My only problem with this particular location was the service. The employee seemed apathetic and it seemed like serving me was a chore.
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
They no longer deliver warm cookies as advertised and each time I've asked they claim they're "out of the lava packs." It seems that they're permanently out of them at this point.

Liam R.

Yelp
Customer service was amazing super kind VERY GENEROUS definitely check this place out!

Errol C.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Best way to get cookies on the go. I love coming here when I have a sweet tooth.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Love love love insomnia cookies!! I know this is a bold claim, but they're even better than Crumbl by a long shot! Always love their flavors and how warm and chewy they are. MUST get the mint chocolate cookie

Rylan S.

Yelp
Mediocre and way to overpriced and cookies were hardly warm for the price I would just go to a real bakery
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Good variety, vegan options!! Individually packaged for postCOVID times and open late. What's not to love? Good sized cookies that taste homemade and fresh.
google avatar

Areeba Z.

Yelp
I have seen this place pop up when I'm craving late night treats. I didn't think a cookie would satisfy my cravings.. I was wrong! This is the richest, most moist and scrumptious cookies I have had. I ordered a Deluxe Cookiewich with chocolate ice cream in the middle, and chocolate cookie and chocolate and peanut butter cup cookie. These cookies are heaven! Will not disappoint! Bonus: as the name suggests, this place is open till late!

Aayan K.

Yelp
Great tasting ice cream and cookies. When arrived still tasted fresh, the cookies warm and the ice cream cold.
google avatar

Megan Y.

Yelp
This is a review as a recipient of cookies from this store, not the person purchasing. I got a box of cookies for my birthday and, as a baker myself, was very pleasantly surprised at how well they held up over a couple days! Normally cookies get really dry and brittle when not ziplocked, but these stayed soft and pretty moist even 48 hours later. They are definitely on the sweet side, but who doesn't want that when getting a cookie?:)

Timothy G.

Yelp
The people their where extreamy friendly and the cookies where warm and chewy. If you don't think that is the best type of cookie then you are wrong 100/5

Barbara K.

Yelp
Cookies were never delivered by third party driver. They could not find a dorm at Boston College Newton Campus (twice).
google avatar

Roben T.

Yelp
Harvard students, yall oughta know better! Great cookies deserve great humane customers, not the entitled out-of-touch treatment of the staff here that I sadly witnessed, 2 nights in a row. Show the love! Let's Tip often and heavily people!

Sarah R.

Yelp
I ordered over 200 cookies to be delivered to two sites in Cambridge for a big event at work. My order was OVER TWO HOURS LATE. I called the store multiple times. When the cookies were already a half hour late, I called and the store rep asked me if it was okay to replace some of the cookies in my order with a different kind since they were out of some, meaning HE HADN"T EVEN BAKED ALL THE COOKIES YET. I said fine and called back another hour later (cookies now 1.5 hours late) and he said he was just finishing the cookies and the driver was ready to go. From there it was another half hour until the driver even left with my cookies. Absolutely unacceptable. This delayed an important company event for me and was not a good look at all. This is an atrocious way to run a business. I have a vary poor impression of insomnia cookies after this experience.

Yelp
Was craving some hot baked cookies so I came by to the Harvard Sq location. I had just got off work in the Beacon Hill area and drove from work. Laila was behind the register counter. I decided to go with the Super 6 (five cookies & one deluxe cookie. I went with 2 Oatmeal Raisin, 1 Peanut butter chip cookie, 2 chocolate chunk cookie and a deluxe salted caramel cookie. The choc chip cookie was good crunch on the outside moist on the inside taste was good and the peanut butter chip cookie was moist all around but fell apart?! The salted caramel cookie was hard and over cooked I didn't eat it, and I got a strawberry milk. The oatmeal raisin cookie was just ok. I'm not coming back to this location something funny going on here? Why did Laila list on my receipt purchase Classic with M&M'S, Double Chocolate Mint, Snickerdoodle, (I DID'NT ORDER THEM?) the Proof is in picture I took of my order. Can some one from corporate office of Insomnia cookies explain this to me????????

Yelp
We're in Boston for the first time from Texas, and we wanted something sweet but most things were already closed. Enter Insomnia Cookies. Not only did we have sexy-Morgan-Freeman-voice man describe some of their newest delectable creations (seriously, he should do radio ads for Insomnia Cookies), but the staff was wonderful and so welcoming. They suggested we try a mix that they put together for us, and every cookie was more delicious than the last. The flavors I knew were kicked up several notches and the unknown flavors were a cookie safari for my mouth. If you have a sweet tooth and are near the Boston area, go out of your way to get some Insomnia Cookies. You won't regret it! (Though we will probably regret not having these back at home.)
google avatar

Kit D.

Yelp
Located in a very small room midst a wall in Harvard square. Really nothing to write home about. A sugar cookie with buttercream icing came out to be about $4... for the quality I wouldn't say it's worth it- you can skip the trip.
google avatar

Mark T.

Yelp
There are three kinds of people in this world: those who like cookies, those who've never had cookies, and liars. Stopped in on a surprisingly chilly April evening, and ended up getting a Carrot Cake cookie (seasonal special). The cookie was served warm, and was overall delicious. It had a great texture, and had a little bit of crispness outside and softness inside. Carrot cake flavor was on-point too! Visits several years ago were positive as well (was in HSQ often when in college). Price of $2.41 (after tax) wasn't too bad considering the location and the quality and freshness. Though I am past the point in life when cookies very late at night are a good idea, Insomnia is definitely a good spot for a cookie fix while in HSQ.

Yelp
Frick Insomnia cookies. Me and my wife went in, excited, ready to take down some cookies. There were 3 workers, who looked like they didn't want to be there, didn't greet us, didn't ask if we wanted anything, just sat there in silence. Felt super awkward/unwelcomed/uncomfortable. There was also a Bee Hive right above the cookies. Should be taken care of. No seating either. Not only was this experience poor, it affected me and my wives day, putting us into moods after a rush of excitement for some baked goods.
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
LOVE INSOMNIA COOKIES! They're always warm and gooey and delicious. I loved the red velvet cookie they had a few months back. I wish they would bring it back. But instead they currently have mini red velvet cookies available, I think it was ~$4 for 6. I liked them, but they def weren't as good as the large regular sized cookies. I think the regular macademia white chocolate is the best flavor. Service is usually good, it's pretty quick and there's never a line when I go.
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
Rudest service I have ever had!! I love there cookies normally go to another location , so sad the girl working was hostile ! Literally threw my cookies in a box I asked for assorted 20 got 19 of basically the same cookie . Will never go back here .

Emma M.

Yelp
Yay for vegan cookies! I wish these were not so sweet. They reminded me of birthdays as a kid, trying to eat the sickly-sweet rosettes of frosting off grocery store sheet cakes.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Insomnia cookies is my all time favorite cookie spot in Boston! They offer a great selection. My favorite is chocolate chunk and white chocolate macadamia. The cookies are freshly baked and delicious. They package the cookies in a box rather than a to-go bag. This is good because it prevents the cookies from being squished.
google avatar

Meg M.

Yelp
The cookies were honestly VERY good, however giving three stars because of the nasty woman working behind the counter. The second we walked in, she looked at us like she wanted to kick us in the head for being there. I don't expect you to roll out the red carpet for us, but she was the rudest person I have ever met working in the service industry. We weren't part of the drunk college crowd, so she doesn't even have the excuse that we were obnoxious. One girl tried placing her order, they were out of what she wanted (no signs indicating as such) so little Ms. Sunshine tells her they are out and IMMEDIATELY announces to the crowd "can I actually help someone who knows what they want?" Ok rude. My last gripe is that she spoke VERY softly and got VERY annoyed if you asked her to repeat herself. Anyways. Grow up lady, and if you hate your job, quit.

Jason C.

Yelp
Food: No comment on the food quality. I never got a chance to taste it. Service: I tried placing an order for their special FNaF cookie pizza, but ended up waiting nearly four hours and called three times before they finally told me my address was outside of the delivery range. Seriously? The site didn't tell me that when I initially placed the delivery with my address included. They didn't tell me that the first time I called. They just kept giving me BS over not being able to get a driver due to how busy it was. It was only upon my third call that they told me the driver refused to go that far. And nobody thought to tell me this? No. They just gaslit me, saying I could've come and picked it up myself. Ugh. Horrible customer service! I will never order from them again! Ambiance Obviously I didn't go there in-person, but I would likely have given them a piece of my mind if I did. So unprofessional...
google avatar

Rigel C.

Yelp
Great cookies, good price. My go-to for a late night study break when most things are closed.
google avatar

Yelp
Long wait time, delicious cookies, lateness, and no customer service. I ordered from IC on 11/7/21 at 6:50pm through GrubHub. The order I made was supposed to be delivered between 7:50pm and 8:00pm. I figured that was reasonable because they probably have lots of orders and the cookies are baked fresh. I called them 3 times (8:03pm, 8:06pm, 8:08pm) because the order hadn't arrived and I didn't wanna call GrubHub right away. Afterwards, I called GrubHub customer service, who then tried to contact IC and could not reach them either. The order ended up getting delivered around 8:22pm and the cookies were just barely warm. They still tasted good but obviously not as good if they had been actually fresh. They were all cool after just a few (under 5) minutes. I told this to the GH customer service who then tried to call them again and they did not pick up. I ended up getting a refund, which is why this review is 3 stars instead of 2. I KNOW that IC makes great cookies, but I was only 2.2 miles/3.5km from the actual store. I would probably just go in person, order, and sit and wait for it to be done rather than do online ordering again.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
The chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate cookies, and oatmeal raisin cookies are usually baked reasonably well, while the sugar cookies, birthday cake cookies, and snickerdoodles are consistently overbaked. Considering the relatively high price, you're better off at a real bakery like Pastiche, baking cookies from scratch using a site like allrecipes, or even buying and baking a tube of dough from the supermarket. The strongest selling points for Insomnia are probably the icing dips and the ice cream sandwiches, but these are better elsewhere as well.

Ebony S.

Yelp
Insomnia as a franchise is great. The employees at this location, though, are extremely rude. I ordered via DoorDash and they simply never delivered my order. I recommend going in store to ensure that you get what you pay for. The employees here seem to eat customers' orders and hang around on the clock.

Mrs. T.

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed with this shop. My group of 15 included one person with an egg allergy and a child with a tree nut allergy, both could eat here. The girl working was talking on her phone when we walked in, we were the only people there and took up the entire shop but we had to wait a few minutes for her to acknowledge us. We asked about the allergies and were told the cross contamination risks. We requested she open a fresh container of ice cream for the tree nut allergy child. She responded that she couldn't do that. She then told whoever was on the phone that we were asking about allergies and rolled her eyes. We were dumbfounded. We again explained this was a child and all we needed to ensure her safety was to wash the scoop and scoop it from a tub that hadn't had a possibly contaminated scoop in it. She seemed very annoyed and again said she couldn't. I pointed out she could but was unwilling, she disagreed and said she couldn't open a new package. We left without purchasing anything. She was on her phone the entire time all 15 of us were in the shop. We could not believe they were able to accommodate a child with allergies but refused, not to mention that she was talking on her phone the entire time we were there.

Swetha K.

Yelp
They offered a good deal for teacher appreciation week - spend $5 and get 6 cookies free! I enjoyed the cookies and they were soft and chewy. The mint chocolate cookie was so good! But I wouldn't pay regular price for them IMO as they're nothing too special
google avatar

Andres D.

Yelp
Insomnia is a national chain decimated to cookies. Their selection is pretty standardized across places and honestly there are no particularly special insomnia creations. That said, they do a good job with the classics, like chocolate chunk and snickerdoodles, and they offer these unique cookie pie things that are almost like cakes. The other appeal is that they are open late (for insomniacs, as implied by the name) so it's a good choice for a late night dessert, not that there are really any others.
google avatar

Shaina G.

Yelp
Classic insomnia service! The cookies were delicious. Only thing was that it wasn't as warm as we'd expected. It was rather lukewarm.
google avatar

Robo T.

Yelp
Good cookies. I like the regular chocolate chip. Husband is celiac and tried the GF cookies chocolate chip. He did not like them however I actually like them. The taste and consistency is good. Unfortunately Insomnia (and many other food/bakery businesses) group all specialized diets together so the gluten free cookies are also made with non-dairy vegan chocolate.... which makes my husband sad.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
I freaking love insomnia cookies. I don't live in Cambridge so I have to make a special trip to go here which my waist line is grateful for. I tried a cookie place over by me but it doesn't compare. I am for sure an insomnia cookie fan.
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
I ordered (via Grubhub) at 7:55 PM. An unknown Philadelphia number called at 8:20 PM but didn't leave a message. Starting at around 9 PM, the app said to expect the arrival of my order soon. At 9:20 PM, ten minutes after the estimated delivery window, there was still no food, so I called the restaurant. They said that they had been "trying to contact me" because they were out of brownies and didn't know what to substitute. So my extremely simple order (two cookies and a brownie) sat there for an hour and a half, during which time they called me ONCE (from a random, non-local phone number) and didn't even leave a message. I've had trouble before with their inventory, delivery, and communication, so this was the last straw. Never ordering from them again.
google avatar

D H.

Yelp
Once again, they are out of peanut butter cups, s'mores and chocolate chunk. Here is an idea, make a larger percentage of these cookies since they are so popular. Happier customers and more revenue seems like a great idea
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
We came around 5pm on a Saturday night and the staff couldn't be less happy to see us! I never felt so unwanted... I couldn't tell if they were closing up shop or what (but a glance at the hours tells me they don't close until 3am)... We got one chocolate chunk cookie and it was super basic. I felt the batter lacked flavor but I did like how the cookie itself wasn't overly sweet. Their cookies are the soft kind so if you prefer the thin and crispy, this isn't the place for you. The size of the cookie leaned closer to a smaller size for the cost. It was over $1 for a cookie the size of the palm of my hand. I probably wouldn't come back as the customer service (or lack of) was more memorable than the cookie. They only accept credit at the moment.
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
Delicious cookies! They have a variety of regular ($1.60 each) and deluxe ($3.20 each) cookies that come out warm, soft, and gooey from the oven. Flavors include chocolate chunk, double chocolate chunk, sugar, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, double chocolate mint, m&m, and white chocolate macadamia. My favorite is the chocolate chunk, which comes with generous portions of chocolate. They also have cookiewiches available (scoop of ice cream sandwiched between two cookies of your choice) and milkshakes, although I have never tried those. I gave 3 stars because even though the cookies are delicious, I thought the price was quite high. However, there is a discount if you buy the cookies in bulk so it is good for study beaks or for meetings. The ambiance inside is also not conducive to staying for a long time, so it is really more of a grab and go place.
google avatar

Taylor P.

Yelp
This place is dirty and overpriced. (Almost $2 per cookie and over $8 for an ice cream sandwich). I had always wanted to come here but when I did I was extremely disappointed. The place looked like it had not been cleaned in a few days and there were old cookies just lying around on the counters and floor. I got 3 small cookies and an ice cream sandwich, my total came to $18. The cookies are good like any other ordinary cookie. The ice cream sandwich did not impress me. At all. The only upside to this place is that it's open till 3am. Don't make a trip to this place. I'd only try it as a last resort.

Yelp
Tasty, melty, soft with the edge crunch chocolate chunk cookie! Though it was free for national cookie day$1.85 a pop is pretty standard. Open late and good service. You can find an insomnia at Harvard out BU.
