Insomnia Cookies

Date night we wanted a box of 6 cookies and taste them all as a fun activity. Quick and easy service but the cookies weren’t my favorite. Good to try them once and that’s about it. If I had to choose the vegan confetti cookie was definitely my favorite.

Yummy yummy cookies, nothing to complain about. I came here having to pick up cookies fast, and the service was quick to my order. I tried several different cookies (see images below), and they were all delicious. Really, just get whatever you think you’ll like most because it’ll taste good and come in a nice size. I think the deluxe cookies are worth it because they are much bigger and getting a box of 8 is great to share. The atmosphere is that late night cookie atmosphere that is not too lively and is very purple. Overall, I am happy about this experience, especially since I had a bad experience at a different location. Yummy yummy 5 Stars!

We happened upon this place because we noticed open street parking, during rush hour. So we decided to give it a try. What a fortuitous decision! The cookies here are very delicious and served to you fresh and warm. I decided to go for the ice cream sandwich which was a winner! They had a special offer for "teachers" and my wife was able to get a small box of cookies for free. The customer service was friendly and there was ample space to sit and have a quick snack, when the pandemic precautions are ceased. As I mentioned, there is street parking available by paid meter. Recommended.

Smells amazing but when we came in they only had a small variety of product. I ordered the 12 Mini cookies which he gave me in a very small bag that was ripped. And the gentleman providing the service at the register was not very friendly whatsoever.

quick customer service which I love especially with covid, staff is friendly, place is clean seems well sanitized, they follow max capacity rules which I also love. cookies are priced moderate spent 30+ for these gems. 🍪🍪🤩 they taste amazing too and want to add they also have gluten free/vegan cookies which again I love ❤ they also put them in an individual bag 🎒 I there kept separate from the rest of the cookies im guessing to avoid cross contamination. (thank you for that) 👍💆‍♀️🤩 its hard to find a good cookie now a days so I honestly run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ here when I'm having a craving cant wait to try the cookiewich. lastly the cookies are huge!! love the packaging and logo 😍 too!.

Order from DoorDash or ubereats can’t remember which one. Insomnia called to let us know they were out of the ice cream we order and asked for a replacement flavor. We’ll they sent the wrong size too. They sent a smaller size and the ice was ok. The cookies were average size not a decent size for the price. The cookies weren’t spectacular and I won’t try again.

We didn’t just order cookies, we had a friendly encounter with Jessica! And you can never go wrong with warm soft cookies!

Great name for a place that stays open later than most places like it’s kind. Many different cookie and ice cream choices. You can even make an ide cream sandwich with cookies of your choose or choose frosting between your two favorite cookies. Everything looked delicious which made my decision so hard. Cookies are baked fresh. Makes a great late night snack stop!

Insomnia cookie is the perfect late night snack. It's open late for those moments you get cravings. They have such an assortment of cookies from your classic to your seasonal flavors. I ordered the snickerdoodle and the apple cider donut. Both freshly baked and oh so delicious. They also serve ice cream at this location. The store is small and has a few seats inside at a high counter. The employee was cordial when she took our order. I love a good insomnia cookie.

Man... talk about a late night snack. Even though I knew this was going straight to me getting love handles, I couldn't resist and I was so happy I did. Getting ice cream on top of any of their cookies is to die for. Especially this location is smart, being next to bars / restaurants it is a fantastic place to hit up after any of your events. Plus, the service was too notch - the service honestly gets a 10/10. I didn't get his name, but he knows who he is, and I would literally go back just to support him & their crazy amazing cookies. If you've never been to Insomnia Cookies, you are definitely missing out. Even if it's out of your direction, make the trip! Highly recommend. Personal Review: 9.1/10

Ok. So after countless mention of this from my daughter I decided to stop in here. The place is very small but I guess this would be fine as most people who come would just order and take their cookies/ ice cream to go. I ordered few of the chocolate chunk cookies. I asked the young lady if these are freshly made everyday. She stated that it is pre-made and we simply throw it in the oven to bake. I would have been content if the price of each cookie was not $3.30. Nothing spectacular about the cookie. Bit small for the price. Yes it was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but would not come here again for an overpriced average cookie.

I used to love Insomnia Cookies, but the business has really gone downhill in the past few years. I ordered a 10" deluxe cookie cake with a "Ur my fave" message on it, and with buttercream frosting piped around the message and under it. I opened the box, and not only was there no piping on it, but there was also only about a teaspoon of frosting holding the message onto the cookie. This is unacceptable, and I feel completely scammed out of over $40 for this f-ing joke. I called the store and complained, and the woman only said that they were phasing out piping the frosting, even though the app still shows the product the way it was before, as of today. I asked her if they were at least lowering the price, and she said that it was a financial/corporate matter. I am extremely disappointed in what used to be my favorite place to get cookies. Until you change your policy or stop jacking up the price for what have become mediocre, pre-made cookies, I will not come back.

GO TO WRIGLEYVILLE LOCATION-I wouldn't typically leave a review from Insomnia, because if you want cookies, Insomnia has great cookies. The cookie overall was as expected, great nothing to write home about but as expected. This review should encourage you, when making a decision between this location and the Wrigleyville location, go to Wrigleyville. For an evening in the middle of the week, I would think Insomnia would be grateful and appreciate a long line of customers, but boy was I mistaken. I get it, people have bad days and can be overwhelmed but my god it should not take 30 minutes to get a cookie and ice cream. Specifically it should not take 20+ minutes to order. Additionally, if there's a line, sitting in the back on your phone in the view of customers should not be acceptable. Again I get that large orders, people paying in cash, and five people in line can be a lot, but if it's too much, close or send people to another location. Five stars on cookie with ice cream, negative stars on service.

This location, possibly many others, doesn't care what cookies you ordered. They send you whatever they feel like sending. If you are out of a particular cookie, you have our phone number. Pickup the damn phone and call us. Instead, I just dispute the charge.

I sent a surprise delivery of cookies, milk and ice cream to my student @ DePaul University. The delivery was super fast and my son definitely loved the treat! He even gave me a shout out Thanks Mom on Snapchat. I will definitely be ordering again.

We got insomnia cookies and it was delicious. It was crispy from outside and soft from inside. It was mouthwatering, warm and good.

Cameron and Dominick great when taking my order. Every time I came to the store to purchase cookies the service from either individual was amazing. They both have an enthusiastic approach when it comes to customer service and as a customer I am proud to refer people to this location.

We left Bacino's and walked down the street, on advice from our friend who NEEDED an ice cream sandwich. I waited a bit and got a double chocolate mint cookie. It was a little crowded but the line moved quickly. The staff was very friendly but a little distracted. The cookie was great, just enough chips and mint, maybe a TINY bit stale tasting! I should have heated it up, I did not eat it there (VERY small space, made for take out) so maybe that made a difference. I was glad (!) to see the calories listed next to each cookie. They're good for sharing, esp the deluxe cookies, which I will get next time.

Okay so it was a Saturday and a nice day so my girlfriend and I wanted to head out for dessert, especially getting out and being inside all day due to Corona Virus mayhem (plus we need to do something lol) You have to pay street parking. There was no line due to Corona virus. The staff were friendly and helpful. I selected the cookiewich with moosetrack ice cream with chocolate chunk and sugar cookie as a sandwich. Wish they had more flavors but the flavor I selected was really great! I do like you can select two different types of cookie to make your cookiewich. Overall the dessert was fantastic! I would come back here for the cookiewich. First time being here and I like the first impression of the place. I would not be surprised if there was a line during the summer time with no virus going around lol. Cheers!

My daughter wanted to stop in. We all got cookies. To be honest, the cookies were average. The place is small, and was packed. The milk was overpriced. What am I missing? Three contributing factors as far as I can tell 1) Next to DePaul 2) Next to bars that are open late 3) Delivers cookies until 3AM. IMO, you have to respect a place that delivers cookies until 3AM, now that is devotion. I'm thinking the go to here for the late night munchies is probably the cookie/ice cream sandwiches, kind of like if Ben & Jerry's delivered ;)

I was in the mood for a random brownie so I went to the Insomnia by Loyola. They were out...I nearly cried. I called the next closest one to the area and spoke to Josh. Josh at the Lincoln Park location understood my "need" for this brownie. He was such a great person on the phone AND in actual person it made my journey for the random brownie such a wonderful experience. Also my brownie was DELICIOUS!

This place never goes wrong. I've been to 5 different locations and the consistency is wonderful. I must say though - Birmingham has the best cookies I don't know why! LOL I ordered a 6 pack to share with co-workers and needless to say only 2 made it back to the office. :) would definitely visit this location when back in Chicago. It's on a block that is close to transpiration and walking distance so great location. Most staff are okay but not super over the top so it works for them.

They deliver until 3am, is this what heaven looks like? You can get 1 cookie.. or a dozen.. or 500. If you want 500, they can make you 500 in ~1.5 hours. Once again, is this what heave looks like? Chocolate chip cookies were great, a balance between crispy and soft, the chocolate chips were melted. I'd pass on the snickerdoodle, could use more cinnamon and sugar.

This place is unreal. Like every cookie is cooked to perfection. It's SO warm and filling. I'm obsessed.

No matter what city I'm in, these cookies have never disappointed me. Late night sugar dispensary offering up warm treats in a quick and friendly manner. Both traditional and deluxe cookies were available, though not all the flavors. Decided on the S'more Cookie ($3.60) and a bottle of milk ($3). Cookie is warmed up - crumbly soft with intense chocolate flavor and the right amount of marshmallows inside. Milk is your standard fare, necessary with the rich baked goods. Weren't that many people on a Sunday night, so we were able to get a seat inside and enjoy. Always a good decision to stop in after a few drinks.

So the tiny lil irony to this is i was seeing my cardiologist and run up on this place. I'm really not a sweets person. HOWEVER, ya just gotta see these gems. Nothing to the place actually and if you not looking for it you might drive right past it. After a clean bill of health from the heart doc, I treated myself some peanut butter, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and macadamia nut cookies. What was that? Ya think I over did it? I stopped by while on a walk. I did not regret coming in. I ordered double chocolate mint and the deluxe chocolate peanut butter cup. I was not expecting them to be served warm and gooey. What a wonderful surprise! They were gone in two seconds. If i am ever in chicago, I'm coming back for the oatmeal raisin!

Great cookies, but absolutely useless delivery drivers. Orders are always late and wrong. Half of the time the delivery doesn't arrive at all. Complete waste of time.

You can't go wrong coming here for some sweet craving to end your night. I went to a different location before but I think all location as I been to (insomnia cookies) never disappointed me. I would definitely come back here for my cookies or cookiewich craving!

Soft, sweet and sugary and everything nice is the way I'd describe Insomnia's cookies. I've been to other cookie exclusive bakeries and ended up disappointed because I think my cookies are the best thing since sliced bread and none could compare. Well, Insomnia Cookies definitely rival my own creations. They are seriously so good! My friends and I got a mix of the Deluxe Cookies yesterday - Smores Deluxe, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and Triple Chocolate Chunk. All were so friggin huge and so flippin good, I can't even pick a favorite. The cookies are served warm & nice n gooey just the way I like them. They put them in a cute pizza style box for you to take them to go. They are open and deliver cookies until 3am!

I ordered cookies for my boyfriends birthday requesting 2-3 day delivery. They forwarded me a tracking number the day I placed the order and 3 days later the package still had not shipped. I called customer service and they said they could deliver the cookies a week and a half later, well past his birthday. So I ended up having to cancel the order. Very disappointed.

I am one of the biggest sweet fanatic and insomnia cookies are way more sweeter than I expected. I bought a box of dozen to share and plus it was $10 deal so why not?! I just wish I was warned that I just eat the cookies RIGHT AWAY because after a little while, it hardens. Unlike other people, I like for the middle of my cookie to be at least soft and that's not what I got from insomnia cookies. This place would be awesome if you are planning to eat it right there and then but taking it home, it's not an ideal thing to do unless you like hard cookies. On another note, the staff was really friendly and helpful since it was my first time there, I was sure how the ordering process works.

I've heard good things about Insomnia Cookies and I read that they recently opened a store in Lincoln Park. I came by with a couple of my friends and we got a dozen of their cookies. We got everything and while some were good, the peanut butter cookie was so raw. I am a big lover of cookies that are soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. But this one fell apart and left a huge grease stain on the parchment paper. I liked their snicker-doodle, white chocolate and chocolate chunk. I was a little bit disappointed by how small they were. I still think Potbelly's has a better sugar cookie though. Must be those huge sugar crystals.

Omg what a brilliant idea that is.. warm cookies whenever you need on your doorstep! When in Chicago we were visiting it was really cold outside and we ordered some warm yummy cookies at midnight to eat with our milk! The delivery guy came with a smile on his face and warm cookies! Ahh those cookies put smile on my kids' face! Definitely an amazing business idea.. wish we had some here in California too!

Had the mint chip ice cream sandwich with a peanut butter and double chocolate cookie. First, I noticed the chocolate morsels were perfectly warmed, a+. Then, the sight of the broken peanut butter cookie underneath, made me sad, but I hoped the taste would cancel the look, and it did. The eats are on point and made up for the presentation disaster served on a paper plate. 3 stars all for taste Happy that this is open till 3am Geared for the young kids/students in the DePaul area

Definitely the worst Insomnia Cookies location I've been to. Bad enough to leave this review. Every time I have gotten cookies from here, delivery or pick up, the experience has not been the best. My first delivery order ever took over an hour and one of the cookies had been half eaten. I was given 2 free cookies with my next order for this. That next order, delivery also took over one hour. I picked up from here one time after getting my nails done next door and checked the box as I walked out to find I had been given two M&M cookies instead of chocolate chip cookies... gotta love it. I thought I learned my lesson and placed a free delivery order tonight two hours in advance to be delivered at 8:45 PM. It is 9:20 PM and the order tracker still says my cookies are baking. I think I've learned now.

Services was OK. The prices recently just went up I was paying like $12 for six pack of cookies now it's almost 14 cookies are too damn expensive. I would even consider paying 14 if they were at least baked on site but they are not I just spent $14 for 6 microwave cookies. I understand the price is the price but I will not be back

The cookie was very ______! I wouldn't know because I never got my cookie. My estimated time was 40-50 minutes and it has been now 2+ hours. As we called explaining the situation, we were answered by a very mean lady that had absolutely ZERO idea how to speak to a customer. Instead of apologizing she insisted that their estimated time was not guaranteed. Not at any moment did she apologize for anything nor seem to care about their terrible, terrible service. We only ordered one cookie. The location is 1 mile away. My friends were watching the Thursday Night Football game with me and had to go home because the game had ended and could not wait anymore for this cookie. Lies, deceit, disappointment, and a total failure! This place deserves 0 stars!

I ordered at 5pm and at 6:45, still no delivery. I called them and waited nearly 35 minutes and they didn't answer. I went to the main Grubhub screen and it said they had closed and would reopen at 8:45. Grubhub was great but Insomnia has terrible service tonight and has lost a fairly regular customer.

Fell in love with this place when I visited NYC last year. I'm so sad that when I visited their Chicago location for the first time excited that there is one in my Midwest Hospitality Home Town , the service was horrible. The guy at the register was cold. Mean. Uninterested. Not helpful at all and j actually felt like I was disturbing his day by coming in to purchase what they were selling which ironically is how he gets to have a job during these challenging times. Tough to admit that the customer service in NYC was better than in CHICAGO??? Never ever coming back. Thanks for the huge disappointment.

This place offers fresh cookies of small and larger size. Easy to order. Friendly place to visit.

Service here kinda sucks but it's my favorite dessert on the planet so that's the only reason why i'm giving it 4 stars. My first truly negative experience was last night. Their establishments are extremely small and the only place inside to sit is a small high table with 3 bar stools. When I got there with one friend, there was empty chipotle trash spread out all over the table and it was kind of busy so I thought it might be another customers. But nope. One of the workers in the lobby said it belonged to another EMPLOYEE THERE. So I literally scooped up all their chipotle and threw it out for them and said "hire me then!!" Literally why would you leave all your trash out in the lobby of any establishment that you work at. And not just eat your lunch in the back. ESPECIALLY if the place is busy and that small.

When the Lincoln Park location opened a few years ago, I was totally down for Insomnia's cookies and methodology. Now, three years later--no one else has caught up to them except themselves. The prices have gone up a dime a cookie per year, which is totally fine, since I get that the costs of goods continues to rise. But the quality is definitely lower, the cookies are definitely smaller, and the strangest thing of all--no matter what time of the week I show up, no matter what day of the week it is, I cannot get a hot ******* cookie to save my life! Seriously, you can stay open until 3 AM and deliver to my house, but if you can't serve me anything besides a barely warmed-over crunchy chocolate chip cookie, I can just save you the trouble and buy bake-and-breaks at Mariano's and call it a day!

Our son went to our local DeKalb location. Placed an order with one of the three clerks working. After nearly 15 minutes in line, he reached the counter to pay and was told THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH! No signs on the doors, windows or even the plastic COVID counter shield, no warning whatsoever. He canceled his order and left in disgust. They claim it's due to COVID but this is the only business I've encountered in two years worth of pandemic restrictions that will not accept cash "due to COVID". WTF. I don't care how good their cookies are supposed to be, I will boycott this business until they adopt a more rational and reasonable business model. I recommend y'all do the same.

Go here on an empty stomach. I had a caramel frappuccino on my way here and I couldn't finish half a cookie, but that didn't stop me from taking a dozen home :-D We also got the (just out of the oven) warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream, my niece devoured in minutes and my bro had the Deluxe A La Mode - warm deluxe chocolate peanut butter cup cookie topped with a scoop of rocky road ice cream, his calling combo. After arriving home the cookies were still gooey and soft in the inside and a little crispy on the edges just perfect! BTW that's a 20min drive and then they sat on the counter for an hour. They passed the test of freshness. This places opens till 3am what more can you ask for and get this they only close like 3 days a year. now to get yourself some warm cookies :-P

My husband was craving cookies. I used yelp and found this location. Our hotel was along the Magnificent Mile so this was a two hour walk( 4 hours round trip). It was well worth the walk. Cookies were warm, fresh and DELICIOUS!!!

When I first heard about Insomnia Cookies, I thought they were made with marijuana. Like, why else would people be excited about a cookie store? So imagine my disappointment when I went and found only cookies, no marijuana included. Were the cookies delicious? Sure. Could I have found delicious cookies elsewhere? Yes. Go because they're open late and the cookies are always warm. Don't go if you don't wanna overpay for a cookie. They're pretty steep.

They have a good collection of cookies. I do have to say though, their cookies are WAY too sweet. Their concept is a great idea.

The cookies here are exceptional! Please please please try the smore's deluxe cookie! You can create cookie ice cream sandwiches too! They are a little bit on the pricy side BUT I think it's worth it. The place is small so don't expect a sit down atmosphere. Definitely will keep returning

I wish I could give a zero rating. I placed an order and did not receive anything for 2 hours. The first time I called after those 2 hours they blamed the weather, though it's a clear night, and said it would go out with the next driver. An hour later I called again, and they said they were down a driver but it would be here in the next 20 minutes. I called 30 minutes later and was told there actually isn't a driver and there hadn't been one for over an hour. I finally got a refund with no effort to extend any offers to make up for the fact that I just waited 3 and a half hours for nothing. Also note all other similar services had been closed at this point. Be warned: they accept orders for delivery even when they have no way of delivering. They do not notify when it's going to take longer than expected. They do not notify when they make the decision not to deliver your order. Honestly not worth the gamble on whether or not you'll even get your order.

Late night munchies? Drunchies? Just want hot cookies? Insomnia's your place! It's open until 3 am and always churning out hot cookies. Get them with ice cream on top if you want to go all out. They also deliver which is awesome if you're at home and want some delicious cookies for dessert!

My parents look forward to their Insomnia cookie delivery at holidays like a couple of little kids. They absolutely love these cookies and say they're the best they've ever had. Customer service is top notch as well. After UPS delivered my dad's Father's Day cookies next to his garbage bins instead of their front porch I let Insomnia know. They went above and beyond to make it right. We are def lifelong customers here.
