Insomnia Cookies - Review - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"You have to sit through Disney On Ice? Grab a chocolate chip. The Wings won by five? Celebrate with a Reese’s Pieces. In utter shock that the parking was $30? Plan your strongly worded email to Comcast with a box of gooey salted caramel beauties by your side. Insomnia Cookies has a warm, $3 cookie for every conceivable occasion. Plus, they even have vegan choices for your one plant-based friend who’s making sure you throw words like “egregious” and “excessive” into the email." - Team Infatuation

I came here to get a 12 pack of cookies. The store was clean and there was also merchandise available as well as the food. The staff were nice and there was a large selection of cookies and also desserts. This is their flagship location as there are many in Philadelphia as well. I would recommend coming to this one if you want to buy merchandise other than cookies as well.

Tasty freshly baked cookies available at all hours of the night. My only complaint was the peach cobbler cookie, while delicious, was like eating a hand full of hot peach cobbler right out of the pan. Messy but good.

❌Read Complete ❌ Best Ice cream 🍨 ever. The cookies 🍪 10/10. The service no good, this lady offered me a bad service that’s why the 2⭐️ instead of 5. The place is nice. My friends and I just ignored the situation and enjoyed the moment.

Called about the new holiday cookie they said they had it drove 40 min away for it. Got here they said they didn’t have it. But it’s in the oven it will be ready in 20 min. Waited 20 min they said no 30 min. Waited they said 20 more min. So sat there for the cookies for 45 min!!! Insane next time just say you don’t have it instead of wasting peoples time.

Yelp
It was a rough day at the office. We met with our client and the meeting was a flamming dumpster fire. All on us. Needless to say, we were all defeated. A colleague and I headed over across the street from the Ritz to Insomnia Cookies. What a treat. Vegan cookies, Gluten Free cookies, and all sorts of regular cookies and ice cream. I ordered several double chocolate chunk vegan cookies, not disclosing how many cookies, and my colleague ordered some cookies as well. We headed back over to the bar at the Ritz and had drinks. She had Champagne and I had some very strong adult beverage. Ahem Mezcal. There we were at the bar in the Ritz, drowning our sorrows in drinks and filling our bellies with cookies. While the day was a complete disaster, I will always remember the good times with my colleague at the bar with drinks and cookies.

Yelp
The flagship is very cool! It has a lot of room with seating. It also has a merchandise section so you can show your love. It has a full menu of cookies, ice cream plus coffee and tea both hot and iced. The staff were nice too!

Yelp
Came here faded and it was a nice place to chill. That cookie slapped so much too. Biggest insomnia I've ever been too. Not your average insomnia vibe Came very quick too

Yelp
The newest location of Insomnia Cookies is incredibly spacious! Located at the corner of Chestnut and Broad, this location includes ample seating and a large space for lining up. The service seems slower than other locations, which was surprising. They had only two people working in the front on a Friday night. They also sell merchandise, unlike most of their locations. You can get the cookies and ice cream, just like the other locations, but you can also score some other specialties. Check them out!

Yelp
Came to Philly to visit with some family and decided to stop in as we were walking around downtown. When you walk in you immediately smell fresh cookies. People working explained the menu and helped us understand what to buy. Me and my wife both got their classic chocolate chunk cookie which was amazing! If you are ever in the area check them out, really cool store with plenty of seats and a public bathroom!

Yelp
Great location! We walked in, and it is HUGE! They have a nice wall that is great for taking some Insomnia selfies. They also have a nice merch wall full of Insomnia Stuff. I probably will be back as I love getting shirts and stuff from places I frequent. The staff here were super friendly. Ended up getting some of the seasonal cookies. This will probably be my go to location when coming into Philly.

Yelp
My experience at Insomnia Cookies last night was nothing short of a nightmare. After braving freezing rain and walking to the store at 11:50 PM, eager to try the Philly-themed "Phila-DOUGH-ia" treats and the catchy "Your Ex Could Never" Valentine's Day promotion, I left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and utterly disappointed. The ordeal began when I couldn't find the advertised cookies on the kiosk. I politely asked the cashier for help, but instead of assistance, I was met with a blank stare and dismissive attitude. When I pointed out the promotion sign, that was right outside the door, she claimed ignorance and acted as though my question was a burden. Frustrated, I asked to speak to another employee, only for her to coldly declare, "I'm the manager"--yet refused to share her name until I pressed her multiple times. She finally snapped, "Alice," before outright refusing to serve me. Here's where things escalated: 1. Deceptive Identification:"Alice" later turned out to be a manager nicknamed Dee as confirmed by supervisor JaMyra. Misrepresenting her identity is not only unprofessional but raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability. 2. Hostile Environment: While Dee antagonized me, another female employee with locs openly laughed in my face, amplifying the humiliation. I have recordings of this behavior, which I'll share with corporate. 3. Corporate-Level Failure: JaMyra, the supervisor, did her best to salvage the situation. She apologized profusely, reviewed the promotion with me, and acknowledged the unacceptable treatment. But her efforts couldn't undo the damage--Dee's power trip left my family cookie-less and crushed our late-night tradition. The Impact: - Family Disappointment: Returning to the hotel empty-handed, with freezing rain soaking my clothes, was heartbreaking. My family's excitement turned to dismay because of one employee's arrogance. - Feeling Invisible (Not Invincible): Dee made me feel like my patronage meant nothing. Her refusal to serve me--coupled with mocking laughter from staff--was dehumanizing. Final Thoughts: While JaMyra's empathy was a small silver lining, this location's leadership is clearly broken. A manager who lies about her name, refuses service, and enables a toxic environment has no place in customer service. I've submitted a formal complaint to corporate and urge others to avoid this location until accountability is enforced. Insomnia Cookies prides itself on "delivering joy," but last night, they delivered nothing but disrespect. Corporate:If you're reading this, investigate Dee (alias "Alice"), review the security footage/recordings, and retrain your staff. No customer deserves this treatment. Matter of fact, I'm completing the Contact Us form on your website now.

Yelp
I was walking back to my room and saw this and I was too tempted not to pop in. It ended up being fine but nothing spectacular. If you are like me craving some ice cream and a cookie then this will do the trick!

Yelp
Got order wrong and the cookies are way smaller than they used to be! Not warm at all. Super lame. You should be ashamed charging that much for cookies and providing a mediocre product at your flag

Yelp
I had such a bizarre experience here. I ordered a cookie cake online for pickup at 10 AM. At 9:40, I receive a call from an Insomnia Cookies worker asking me what cookie dough I want because they were out of the flavor I ordered. First of all, this is a flagship location. If any location should have all the cookie dough flavors, it's this one. Second of all, I arrive on time at 10... but I guess my time doesn't matter to this establishment because I didn't receive my cookie cake until 10:40. There was also only one or two workers in the store. I'm very dissatisfied and confused what went wrong.
