Philly’s Absolute Best Cookies

"What began as a modest operation in CEO Sam Berkowitz’s University of Pennsylvania dorm room two decades ago is now an international brand with over 200 stores. The menu features nearly two dozen varieties of cookies, including vegan and gluten-free options (try the vegan double chocolate or gluten-free chocolate chip), nostalgic classics (like snickerdoodle and sugar cookies), and extra special deluxe cookies (like oatmeal chocolate walnut and  s’mores). In 2021, they even opened the Insomnia Cookie Lab —a cookie speakeasy experience where guests can try never-before-tasted cookies." - George Banks-Weston

Stopped in before catching the train. Lady was nice but shorted me cookies and charged for cookie varieties that weren't there. Ordered 24 and got 21. Guess I should have checked before leaving but who knows. She added 11 cookies that had an upcharge of 4cents a piece. Guess I will reach out to customer service.

Ordered for delivery, when order was delivered, cookies were there but ice cream was not. I called the store and the who person answered, Rachel I believe, immediately apologized and took accountability while having it re-shipped. Excellent customer service and cookies were great :)

Although the building was a bit tricky to get into, once inside it was fantastic service! I haven't had insomnia cookies in a while and almost forgot how delicious and addicting they can be. The service at the desk was so patient and kind, absolutely will be returning 10/10 service!

Love these cookies!!! They are always hot and fresh!! I would eat these all day long. If it didn’t make me fat!! My favorites are macadamia nut white chocolate and peanut butter cookies!! Love that this location closes at 3am. Parking is not that bad because I usually park in the loading and unloading 20 minute limit. 😝

Google
Worse customer service!! Rudest person I have ever seen in my life!! I was shocked to see this kind of attitude in UPenn campus

Google
The cookies were delicious and still warm! They were quite greasy though. The store was clean and looked nice. The service was not the fastest unfortunately. There were three employees but they did not serve or address the people in line immediately.

Rachel absolutely amazing! Best customer service everrrr Good people hard to find!!

I wish I could give more than 5 out of 5 stars to your incredible employee Leah! She was so warm and professional while serving us, even in the midst of fielding numerous customer phones calls and deliveries! If there is any way to give her a raise, a promotion, or both, please do! Thanks so much for all that you do, Leah! You made our whole night!

Yelp
Sent a bunch of cookies to the nurses at the nursing station on New Year's Eve because they were taking great care of me. They came packaged beautifully and still warm! Would definitely gift again!

Yelp
If you're looking for a sugary pick-me-up or in desperate need of a study break, head to the basement of Houston Hall on UPenn's campus. They're open until 1am. I know a chewy chocolate chip cookie can always brighten my day. They ran a promo on 4/20 for 5 chocolate chunk cookies for $20, and I couldn't resist! If you're not in the mood for a cookie, they've also got brownies and ice cream. I would definitely agree that they're overpriced, but sometimes it's ok to treat yo'self (:
google avatar

Yelp
I went for the first time and got the snickerdoodle. Grabbed just two. They were delicious so I couldn't resist returning the next day! Love it. Pricy but worth it.

Yelp
Made an order for delivery and it's an hour late. Idec about trying the cookies because the service sucks.

Yelp
I remember when Insomnia showed up at Houston Hall. I was so excited bc their cookies are amazing...I just wished they delivered... THEN THEY STARTED DELIVERING! AMAZING! I've ordered regularly, gave nice tips and recommended this store to everyone I knew, until now. Long story short...I ordered from the app as I always do. The app defaults to a tip of $3.75 (that's strange... And shady...), but I changed it and placed my order. But the app changed the tip back to $3.75. Ok np, I'll just pay my intended tip when delivered. Dude rolls up within 20 min with the delivery. I give the amount for the cookies plus my tip. Dude takes the cookies back and says I have to pay the full amount bc the store expects the full amount. Wtheck? I explain the mistake with the app and that my intention was not to pay that tip amount; however I have the full amount for the cookies and my tip. No deal. I'm flabbergasted. I ask if he has the number to the store; he says no. I ask to look on the box; not there. I look it up on the app and call. It goes to a call center and I'm on hold. Eventually he leaves while I leave a message for customer service to receive a call back. I APOLOGIZE for him having to come out with this mistake that impacted him. Customer service calls back and I explain the situation. The rep is confused about the app default too. He calls the store directly and they tell him that if they accepted my payment the store register would be short for the night...bc of the tip... That they set...SHADY. But I still want cookies. Ok np, he cancels the order and reorders for me on the phone. I ask to make sure the cookies are fresh; "oh no, they'll make a fresh batch for you." Bet! And the rep hooks me up with a coupon. All right! Should get the cookies within 20 min... An hour later, with no call, still haven't received my cookies. I check the cookie tracker on the app; it says order was delivered. Huh? I haven't paid for it, so I'm thinking, weird, but whatever. I check my email; order will be delivered by 12am... WHAT?!? SINCE WHEN IS ASAP 3 HRS LATER?!? I know what's happening, but benefit of the doubt, right? I call customer service again. Explain what happened. She calls the store again. All of a sudden my order is with a driver and on its way. Convenient. I say to her as well how I'm so disappointed bc I'm sure my cookies will be cold and not intact. She hopes they're not and wishes me goodnight. Nice young lady. 20 min later same dude shows up with cookies. Doesn't look at me. Cookie box is cold. Expected it. Even paid with my original tip. All good... Until I opened the box. What you see is what I received. Broken cold cookies, and one looks like a bite was taken out of it. There was also a white hair in the box that wasn't human. You see the receipt on the box? Order time 813p? Yeah that was my original order, the "freshly made" box that was delivered ASAP 2 hrs later. Contacted customer service again; requested a full refund and to file a formal complaint. Escalated to a supervisor, waiting for a call back. Sent an email to customerservice@insomniacookies.com; waiting for a response. All this bc of a "glitch" in the app. So. Much. Shade I need a candle. All I wanted was some cookies... Stay tuned.

Yelp
Ordered delivery about six times from this place. Four of the times were awesome. Two of the times, I did not receive my order. Last time, I waited about three hours. I spoke to a woman over the phone during that time, and she was nice and apologetic and assured me my cookies would come eventually, but they did not. The two overshadows the four in my mind. No more orders from this place.

Yelp
My cookies arrived over baked they weren't even warm soft and chewy like the center city location I'm so sad about this ‍

Yelp
I'm positive the Insomnia truck sees their share of drunken cookie monsters. It's no wonder their service is (trained to be) so friendly. Their chocolate chunk is accessible, not overly sweet, with a satisfyingly chewy bite, one that everyone should expect from a proper chocolate chip cookie. Still, I prefer a slightly more yielding cookie, especially at Insomnia's price points. However, your mileage may vary, and who doesn't like late-night cookies from a truck? At least it's not an unmarked van. NOTE: I'm not certain if the Insomnia truck still makes its rounds at Penn (or anywhere else), but the store is still there.

Yelp
Got cookies at 8pm and they still tasted very fresh. The new confetti cookie is delicious it's a must try. They have a lot of different yummy options.

Yelp
Spent $10.10 on a "pint" of ice cream that was just a cup. Also missing brownies and cookie dough.

Yelp
If there was an Insomnia Cookies at my college campus, I would have gained the Freshmen Fifty instead of Fifteen. I had a huge dinner, but these crack cookies still found a way into my belly. My motto is that there's always room for ice cream. There's also always room for Insomnia Cookies. The Snickerdoodle cookies are particularly amazing. The employee working that night was super friendly. He told us to download the Insomnia Cookie app so that we could each get a free cookie. I'm a fan!

Yelp
These cookies are bomb dot com. I ordered the brownie and the chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chunks are so sweet and soft. The cookies and brownies come right out of the oven when you order them. So they are warm and crispy on the edges. The warm cookies makes the whole building smell like cookie heaven. I can see why they call their cookies insomnia cookies. It's not only a catchy store name, but a logical one. When you eat one of these suckers, you are exploded with a rush of sugar. The sugar high definitely leaves you wide awake. The brownie is my favorite. It's loaded with an intense chocolate taste and huge bite size chocolate chip chunks. The chunks of chocolate are so soft from the warm heat that they melt in your mouth. The brownie has a crispy and crunchy outer crust that balances the soft center. I would recommend ordering a bottle of milk. These cookies can get pretty intense. (And yes, they sell milk!)

Yelp
If you're ever near the UPenn campus, make your way to the basement floor of Houston Hall for a bite of deliciousness at Insomnia Cookies. I love their variety of cookies although I have my go-to favorites of course. I've been there three times after class this week... I know...don't judge me. Each time I got a cookiewich. The most recent combo I tried was the chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie with the moosetrack ice cream. They have other flavors of ice cream such as espresso, strawberry, cookie dough, chocolate chip mint, vanilla bean, and bubble gum. They also have a variety of cookies - m&m, peanut butter, raisin, chocolate chunk, and their super huge deluxe cookies...and brownies. You can get a cookie or brownie on it's own, ice cream on it's in, a cookiewich, or cookies/brownie a la mode which is one cookie with ice cream. Unfortunately, they don't sell hot chocolate or coffee but I'm willing to forgo that and just have the delicious cookies and ice cream on it's own.

Yelp
Goodness...if you want to wait 20 min for cookies around noon, this is the place for you! I came around lunchtime and even though school was not in session, the line was out the door! That being said these cookies are deeeelish! My favorites are the chocolate chip (duh), triple chocolate, peanut butter, and m&m...so yes, basically all of them! They also offer ice cream and (order ahead) cake cookies!

Yelp
This store is constantly over burdened with many student and nearby orders, so i've never gotten my cookies quickly or while they were still warm, but walking in is alright! The building has been closed at late hours of the night so no walk ins after a certain point, I do have a few favorites from here that keep me coming back!

Yelp
Just moved to philly from NC and while our Insomnia cookies isn't stellar up there, they are 1 million times better than this branch. I didn't get my cookies for an hour. When I got them, I opened the box up to cookies that looked like they had been eaten. They were all broken and looked like bites had been taken out. (Pictures below). This is just absolutely ridiculous. I didn't even get all 6 cookies.

Yelp
Highly disappointed in this specific location. I ordered 13 cookies and 3 tubs of ice cream. When my order was delivered, they did not bring the ice cream and I was told to call corporate as there wasn't anything else they can do for me. In order to better serve their customers, the staff should double check that they're sending the delivery bikers out with the entire order. 12/5 Update: Decided to give this place another shot (stupid me) and yet again, they have let me down. I ordered 2 medium ice cream tubs and this time they did provide it. However, instead of medium they gave me smalls. Now as an ice cream lover, you can assume I am extremely disappointed and my cravings have not been satisfied (YET AGAIN). Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Yelp
Insomnia was the perfect place to stop for some dessert after lunch on a hot and tiring day! My family and I were walking around campus after moving my sister into her new apartment and decided to stop by for a quick bite and to also see the newly-renovated Houston Hall. We shared M&M, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin cookies. All three were warm when we got them, plus the perfect mix of chewy and moist. They really hit the spot and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I've had insomnia cookies millions of times but I just realized I've never had them fresh out of the oven. Today I did and I can truly say these are the best cookies I've ever had. The dough is the perfect amount of sweet in contrast to the already sweet chocolate. There's a perfect distribution of dough to chocolate chips. Lastly, I love the thickness of the cookie, thicker than your usual but not too thick. Overall amazing!

Yelp
I understand that during COVID things aren't running so smoothly. But this location left me hanging BEFORE covid in addition to tonight's failure. After my first call Grubhub asked me to wait as the order was out for delivery. On my second call they admitted it was not out for delivery. I asked for a refund. Will never order from this location again.

Yelp
I stopped by insomnia cookies at Upenn's Houston hall after lunch the day I had a campus visit. I had heard many good things so I had to get a cookie. It was kind of hard to find because it was in a basement level but once you get in it's pretty clean and warm. They have warm cookies and ice cream to make ice cream sandwiches! I got 3 oatmeal cookies for my family and me and they were super warm and a good size too. I would love to come back!

Yelp
To preface, I really hate writing bad reviews because 1) I feel like the fallout always comes down on the wrong person in the business, and 2) it makes me feel petty. Insomnia Cookies is an amazing concept in theory and I have no doubt they're raking it in hand over fist. With that in mind...what a complete and utter disaster tonight was. We decided to try out Insomnia after hearing the rave reviews from the local Penn and Drexel kids. We placed our order for two cookies, an ice cream sandwich, and a pint of mint chocolate chip around 11pm. At midnight with still no sign of our stuff I called in to check on our order, which actually doesn't call in to the store itself but to a literal centralized call center somewhere in another state, which I found a little odd. I was told that there was only one driver on duty tonight and that it was "on its way" - OK. Finally around 12:30am we got a call from the "driver" outside. It turned out that the poor guy was not so much a driver but a biker - carrying the loads of ice cream directly alongside warm, steaming cookies, in an uninsulated messenger bag. Keep in mind that the temperature tonight is approximately 81F. I paid the guy the $20.48 plus his well-deserved tip and brought everything upstairs, where I discovered that literally ALL the things were wrong. Instead of mint chocolate chip we got some sort of coffee-flavored ice cream - no sandwich - and four miscellaneous cookies, none of which were what we'd ordered. I called the bike guy back and he returned to try and help me sort out my actual order. We literally shuffled through EVERY other box in that messenger bag - at one point he actually gave me my cash back because it appeared that they'd just completely screwed up my order - but finally at the very bottom of the bag we found my tiny little cup of vanilla ice cream and the mint chip, along with the cookies. I thanked him and paid again. So, the "ice cream sandwich" was the saddest disaster I have ever seen in dessertland. Having spent over an hour and a half in a heated bag strapped to the back of a sweating biker, the ice cream was basically completely melted and could not even be spooned onto the cookies to form a sandwich at all. I basically dipped chunks of the cookies into warm, liquid vanilla milk which just resulted in soggy, cold cookies and crumb-studded "ice" cream. The mint chip was slightly less melted due to its mass and density, but only just. It baffles me how a company can even advertise "ice cream sandwiches" if they not only DON'T use insulated carriers, but they deliver it in the same carrier as the hot cookies...literally on the backs of their delivery staff. I felt disappointed not so much for myself but for the entire concept which was so badly executed it hurts.

Yelp
Never in my life did I think I would give a one star rating to a food truck or a cookie shop... But this place deserves it. Excitedly after a 13 hour workday, I stopped by for the first time and ordered a chocolate mint cookie and a white chocolate macadamia cookie... But these cookies came with ingredients that should've not been there. Insomnia, if you're going to sell a cookie that normally doesn't come with coconut in it, make sure you put somewhere in your description that you're putting it in there! I nearly threw up when I ordered the white chocolate and found coconut in the batter. Yes, most people would love it, but I am unable to eat coconut, and a little heads up ANYWHERE would've been nice. So I threw away that cookie and warily took a bite of the chocolate mint. First bite was good, but the second bite I took ended with me painfully biting into something hard. I spit it out and found two pieces of ROCKS baked into the cookie. yes. not egg shells, or something somewhat normal - plain ol ROCKS. So end result: sick stomach from coconut and teeth ache from biting into rocks for $2.50.

Yelp
These aren't cheap cookies, I'll say that much. But HELLO? You're telling me, I could be really sick at home, crying over some shitty life decision , or just lazy AF and someone will DELIVER me cookies, MILK, AND ice cream? SAY NO MORE, charge the plastic!! The cookies themselves are delicious. Super soft and chewy, full of butter and sugar. Lay them on me, but go straight to my butt please :) Delivery was also super fast. Seriously, within about 10 minutes maximum. (Also there was one time I ordered and it didn't come for 30 minutes. I called and they said the location was closed, and apologized for the inconvenience. They refunded my money within 10 business days). I'll accept that.

Yelp
Soft buttery -- yum! These cookies will make you fat and you will like it.

Yelp
Oh Godddddddd I love cookies. I'm taking a Drexel course in Hagerty Library this term, and Insomnia Cookies is truly a blessing and a curse. I know it's bad for me, but I want it all the same. So far I've gotten at least one cookie for every class day. My class meets twice a week. I see myself gaining a few pounds in the coming weeks. The white chocolate macadamia nut is by far my favorite, followed closely by the chocolate chunk. The cookies are served warm and moist in a small paper bag. They're ooey, gooey, and delicious. Each of the "regular" cookies is priced at $1.25. I have class today. I'm in trouble.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're craving cookies, this is the place, especially for late hours. Pretty cool they offer delivery too.
google avatar

Silvi S.

Yelp
Really good cookies especially the s'mores and chocolate peanut butter cup cookies. The marshmallows melt in your mouth. Would definitely order more. Would try other cookies too. Goes great with almond milk.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
I can always count on warm and chewy cookies and great customer service! I tried the new lemon white chocolate chip cookies today and they were delicious and flavorful! Crisp lemon coupled with sweet white chocolate chips are a great combination. I love coming here for a quick study break and there's patio seating outside Houston Hall for you to devour your cookies on a nice sunny day!
google avatar

Alexa L.

Yelp
I love insomnia cookies but this branch is not worth it. I ordered delivery and it did not show for over 3 hours after the estimated delivery window, I then cancelled the order. While the customer service was friendly they are not associated with the branch and mentioned several times that this branch is notorious for late or failed deliveries. Sounds like this branch should stop offering delivery.
google avatar

Yelp
This has got to be THE worse delivery service I've experienced for something as simple as desserts; and I now have multiple experiences to go by. I'm not normally a complainer, but I would've appreciated the heads up, so I'm giving it to you. The first time I got my order 2hours after placing it and although the ice cream was still solid, the cookies were cold and hard. I gave them the benefit of the doubt this last time and got screwed once again. I placed my order last night and still have yet to receive them--it's noon the next day. When I called to inquire, they said they got my number wrong and said they'll send right away and to expect them in about 30mins. When an hour 30 passed, I called back only for them to tell me they'll be sent ASAP yet again. Now this young sounding guy called to tell me they weren't sure if I wanted the order right away or later and that they were out of the ice cream I had ordered... WTF!? No one offered to discount either. Again, I don't usually complain, but SAVE YOUR MONEY!!
google avatar

Jaime H.

Yelp
Great cookies and service. This is an easy way to go for groups and events if you need something in large batches and it's always a crowd pleaser. They great at working with you one on one to accommodate for large groups and events.
google avatar

Wallis R.

Yelp
Worst location in the city. Don't bother ordering delivery, you might as well walk there from wherever you live because I live a mile away and it consistently takes two hours to receive an order. When the order does arrive, the cookies are cold and hard. I won't fall for it again, not again! Walking in is great though, the cookies are usually fresh and warm. Just don't rely on their delivery service.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
This store absolutely SUCKS!!! My daughter ordered cookies yesterday for delivery for her niece and nephew's birthday! They continuously lied or didn't respond to calls, etc. Called one time and they didn't Even answer. Called corporate office and was assured they would deliver today at 2:30pm. Still no delivery!! Over an hour ago they said they were out for delivery! They live 10 minutes away!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!!
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
Insomnia Cookies is a must if you are near Penn's campus! Rotating flavors of both cookies and ice cream. Went with a group of friends after work and each of us were able to order our favorite flavors- chocolate, mint chip, and moose tracks. Only thing missing this time was cookie dough!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
I ordered at 1:30am. Come 3am my order was cancelled. Granted, I ordered 48 cookies, but the website said large orders require an extra hour for cooking. My order said baking right up until 3am when the tracker told me it was cancelled. No way to contact the shop and no email to confirm the cancellation. I won't try this again.
google avatar

Sergio El Bailador G.

Yelp
The service is horrible, do not order from here! Horrible! It's been an hour and a half and no cookies are here!
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
While I do genuinely enjoy their soft and warm cookies, I'd rather eat oreos with the way the employees treat their customers. They are supposed to be open "daily until 3 am!", but that's only if they feel like working that late. And if they do, they will only stand outside smoking to tell you that they are out of cookies. My particular experience happened several months ago so for all I know their staff has changed but when I went, they were extremely rude and presumptuous. We had arrived at Insomnia cookies at 2:45 am after getting a craving and trying to order online when we were informed that they were no longer taking online orders. We then called, to see if the store itself would be open, to find out that yes, they stay open until 3:00 am. We were so excited that we ignored the rain and ran to make it in time. But the doors were locked and a delivery boy was standing outside diverting our questions and replying with "I don't know, I'll ask my manager". When the manager came out, the two shared a glance and smiled at each other in response to my enthusiastic quest to get cookies at 3 in the morning. It's one thing to run out of cookies but it's another thing to openly laugh at your customers.
google avatar

Autumn E.

Yelp
Okay, so for the longest time, Insomnia Cookies was sought when you were craaaaaaaaaaaving, late at night, want cookie gooey NOW! And you splurged and bought a lot and when it came you devouuuuured them. But have you ever gotten Insomnia Cookies without a horrid craving? If you did, chances are you were disappointed. These sort of overpriced cookies are undercooked and kept under a heat lamp to give them that gooeyness, but that leaves them EXTREMELY greasy and kind of gross if you eat more than one... like your stomach starts to hurt. You almost NEED milk with them because they're over sweet, and sometimes the top is like, straight up dry. Half of the flavors are disappointing, unfortunately. Now, with this truck where you can buy them on the go, it's nice to not have to pay shipping, to be able to get only one, and maybe even share with someone if it's too much for you. But ordering them is kind of awful. They're not the best, they're way undercooked, and I would only get them if i were craving something positively terrible for me. Because then they hit the spot. But no craving? No go. They're gross, then.
google avatar

Yelp
They deliver cookies. They deliver warm, delicious cookies. They deliver warm, delicious cookies until 2:30am. HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY NOT LIKE INSOMNIA COOKIES?!?!? Apparently some of my esteemed fellow Yelpers have had a few issues with delivery time. I've encountered no such problem. Just the other day I ordered three gigantic s'mores cookies on Campusfood... They were delivered just 30 minutes later, still hot. Furthermore, they tasted incredible. I ate so much that I made myself sick. Then I ate so much for breakfast the following morning that I made myself sick again. It was worth it.

Yelp
This rockin' cookie delivery business founded by Penn alums now has locations at many campuses in the Midwest and on the East Coast. At Penn, they're now stepping up from a cookie truck to a walk-in store location in the basement of Houston Hall. This was my inaugural Insomnia experience, and I decided to go with a classic: chocolate chunk. It was warm, well-sized, and it only cost a DOLLAR. Mmmm...allow me for the moment to revel in the comforting memory of its cozy gooey deliciousness. It tasted like a real, homemade cookie fresh out of the oven. They also have several other flavors, including some larger, fancier premium varieties, which I may have to sample on my next visit. And when they're that cheap, why not?
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
ok. i friggin LOVE cookies--"cookie monster" was one of my nicknames for awhile. But i really don't know what the big deal is about insomnia. Service wasn't great (they were very sarcastic), and the white choco chip cookie i got was sweet without being flavorful (if that makes any sense). I typically like my cookies soft and a little melty--and the texture on these just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was just this time? May give it another chance.

Yelp
I managed to make it almost entirely through graduate school before finding out Insomnia Cookies exists as a physical location and not just a truck. (Given that Lauren H reviewed them over a year ago, and we share an office, I honestly have no idea how that is even possible.) Thank God, because if I had known about this earlier I'd be the size of a house. I spend a lot of late nights working in Houston Hall, and it's awesome to be able to walk downstairs and grab a delicious warm cookie to keep myself motivated. The staff is really friendly and patient. I literally found them by following the smell of fresh-baked cookies, so I was a little (OK, a lot) dumb when I first walked in. They were very patient and did not laugh at my unabashed glee when they told me that ALL of their cookies are served warm. (My ordering strategy was initially to say 'please sell me whatever is making that delicious smell.' When informed that ALL of the cookies smell delicious and there was no way for them to identify the particular source, I then asked them for 'whatever cookie would be warmest.' When the answer was 'ALL OF THEM' I may have been a tad overenthused.) If you are a Penn student I highly recommend forgetting you ever read this review until several weeks before graduation. Or buying elastic-waist pants. Your call.

Yelp
I've never heard of this place before until it came across to me when I visited my friend at Penn. I wanted to try it because I'm a chocolate addict, and when I did I fell in love with it. The first bite was warm and tender. I went back for more. This place is sickass, I wish they had some in the west coast. But I give them props for serving college campuses. Shout out to their M&M cookies!

Yelp
Story time, kids. The cookies here are really great (especially white macademia!), why the poor rating? I'll tell you why. One night around 1 am, my friend was working on a project and I was her moral support/chief procrastinator buddy during a cold wintry night. We hit on luxuriously ordering insomnia (only 6 blocks away) rather than running over to pick some up ourselves. I get a call to go outside, which I immediately do, only bringing my keys to get back into my apartment. I waited 10 minutes out in the freezing cold, so I call them again asking where are they? They tell me they are literally *seconds* away from me and that they can see me. Okay, I stand outside another 5 minutes. I see a Papa John delivery man, who greets me and asks if I am waiting for Papa John ("nope, I'm waiting for Insomnia"). I call Insomnia again, and this time, no dice, no one is answering. At this point, I went inside to wait with my friend by the door, waiting. Finally, after an hour (and an hour and a half since the "order was right there", and closer to two hours since we ordered period!), they told me to go outside. I again see the Papa John's delivery man, who asked if I was still waiting for cookies. He shakes his head, and gave me a coupon for a free pizza delivery for my trouble. (Thank you Papa John delivery man! You made my night!) A couple of minutes later, the cookies came, cold as hell. And that's why you should pick up from this location, not take out.

Yelp
Back in my early days on-campus (circa 2005), Insomnia Cookies were incredibly delicious. Perfectly sized, not too buttery, and there wasn't a better chocolate chip cookie around. Unfortunately, the success translated into worse quality. The cookies became loaded up on butter, and they became cooked a lot more sloppily than they had in the past. In particular, the chocolate chip cookies tend to seem as though they were slapped onto a baking sheet without much thought or regard to preparation. Check out the bottom of a box after you finish...that's pretty solid evidence of what's going into those cookies. Delivery times were generally good to the dorms, although they would get delayed inexplicably every now and then. For the current quality, though, the price isn't worth it.

Yelp
I'm a cookie fiend, and these are some damn fine cookies. Get them delivered - they're better if they have a chance to cool a little bit anyway. Also, they usually have a deal where you get 3 free cookies when you order online if you enter a coupon code. I signed up for their mailing list because they change the code pretty much every week, but there are probably other ways to find the code if you don't want weekly cookie-spam. For me, free cookies seals the deal.

Yelp
Wow these are some good cookies. From the creamy lucious macaroons to the sublime snickerdoodles. Large, satisfying, and worth every penny. Delivery is a bonus as I'd happily drive across the city to pick them up. On a recent trip I had them mail me cookies and they arrived individually wrapped and in great shape! Why no 5 stars? I can never reach anyone on the phone, nor are my emails ever answered.

Yelp
I like the concept - late-night cookies - but for the quality of their product, you're better off keeping a package of Tollhouse break-n-bake in the fridge for when the craving strikes... You could even sell each individual cookie to friends for a buck. How entrepreneurial! Nota bene: This review is for the cookie truck near Drexel. I actually had no problem with the service, even though I heard they're usually a hilariously sassy bunch. So, uh, come for the show? But not the goodies.
