This is the best Insomnia in DC! The staff are so nice and do whatever they can to create a great experience for their customers. I bring my international students here every summer and the staff never fails to welcome them with a kind and friendly demeanor.

We’ve been loyal customers of Insomnia Cookies in Georgetown for years, and it remains our favourite spot for something sweet. A big part of why we keep coming back is Addis and the entire team. Addis is truly the best — always greeting us with a big smile and genuine warmth that makes every visit a pleasure. She and the staff create such a welcoming atmosphere. Keep up the great work! 🇬🇧

Got some delectable and warm cookies from here for our friends. I had a snickerdoodle cookie for the first time in my life, and really enjoyed it! The service staff was amazing, very helpful and patiently walked us through everything on the menu.

Me and my sister came in for a late night snack when we were greeted by the amazing Addis. She walked us through the menu and gave us the best recommendations. She was so sweet and fun, talking to her was like talking to a friend you haven’t seen in a long time. Her hospitality is unmatched. Highly recommend visiting this location, you’ll leave with a sweet treat and a memorable experience worth coming back for !

My teenage daughter and I finished dinner at nearby Georgetown restaurant and wanted to get something sweet. It was late and there were only a few places open, so we chose Insomnia Cookies. My daughter was excited and so was I. We walked in and were greeted by a wonderfully cheerful proprietor by the name of Addis. She was so so awesome. I told her that we were tourists and not been here before - she described everything in perfect detail and we ordered the chocolate chip and firecracker with m&m cookies. They were baked fresh and as we were waiting for the fresh cookies (about 1-2 min), we were speaking with Addis. During our conversation, a flood of Georgetown students came in - this place is that popular. It also has ice cream and you can choose ice cream cookie sandwiches as well. What really made our visit so awesome that when Addis gave us our 2 cookies, the bag felt a little heavier than it should have. I quickly peek inside to find that Addis had given us 4 cookies in total, just because it was our first time there. What a sweetheart. The cookies were baked to perfection, soft and full of chocolate chips and m&ms. We will definitely be back for the cookies but also for the great conversation.

I have a serious sweet tooth, which is my ultimate guilty pleasure! I stopped by Insomnia Cookies to grab my favorite salted caramel cookie. It wasn't hot and gooey like I'm used to, more like room temperature this time, but it still tasted good. I'll definitely be back because a warm cookie from here always hits the spot. The service was good.

I was pleasantly surprised to see another Insomnia Cookies location. (I'm only familiar with Adams Morgan.) My nephew was excited because he heard rave reviews on TikTok (of course). Here's what we had: *CHOCOLATE CHUNK *SNICKERDOODLE *OATMEAL RAISIN *CONFETTI DELUXE (not pictured because someone inhaled it -- hint: not me, lol) *SALTED CARAMEL DELUXE The smell hits you as soon as you cross the street, which only adds to the delicious excitement. It's a vibe to go to Georgetown at night and order insomnia cookies, but it's not worth it. The service was good, lady greeted me and had manners. The cookies were mediocre. The ice cream was pretty good, nothing too special. I'd rather go to Wawa and get ice cream there, but insomnia cookies are usually warm. Ice cream has some cool flavors.

We ordered through Uber Eats. We got chocolate chunk cookies I liked them! we will order from them again.

Small shop, 2 people at a time. Kind employees and even gave me the option to make my own cookie sandwich or have them assemble it for me. Delicious as always! Snickerdoodles are the absolutely the best from here.

The amazing customer service I had at this place encouraged me to write this review. I wish i knew the name of the staff who helped us out (a young man in his early twenties). He was very nice and made my last night in the US the best. This is a shout for him. Cookies wise, they smelled so good and tasted even better. Highly recommend!

I ordered via Uber Eats. My order was supposed to arrive tonight by 10:45pm; I ended up receiving it by 11:15pm. I ordered both ice cream AND cookies. I only received TWO OF THE FUCKING COOKIES THAT I ORDERED. 2 OUT OF 4 WERE MISSING. AND I NEVER RECEIVED MY FUCKING ICE CREAM. I was charged a significant amount of money, basically robbed. ROBBED. Absolutely unacceptable. This store should go out of business.

Cookies are decent but customer service is terrible. Places like Insomnia cookies reveal the inadequacies of our culture. All service these days has become terrible and I'm not even old. Workers definitely need to be paid more and maybe we just need robots to replace the workers who clearly detest their jobs so much they'd rather be doing anything else. Btw, service labor isn't oppression, so you're not sticking it to anyone by being bad at your job, you're just a bad person who needs to be quiet and stop complaining. xoxo

I've always been a huge insomnia cookie fan but after yesterday I'll forever love them. We stopped by to get a few cookies and the lady working the front register was just as sweet as could be and I just want to thank her. I was advising my daughter to speak up so that the cashier could hear her and she told me daughter to always use her voice. My daughter needed to hear it from someone else and I'm so happy she spoke up. So many girls light is so easily dimmed and I want my daughter to know that she should always be heard. I'm so sorry for not remembering your name but it was around 4pm. We crushed the cookies so I don't have any pictures lol and my kid got a scoop of ice cream that she devoured. You can't go wrong with these warm gooey cookies. They literally melt in your mouth and are always fresh. The place was clean and smelled super yummy. Loyal customer signing out!

ordered through Uber eats, Brooklyn location. delivery is a mess. Apparently, insomnia cookies wants to use their own delivery person. problem is the delivery takes extremely longer than using Uber & there is no communication with the driver, there is no number to call off the delivery is late, or to find out where there are. You aren't able to track the order as they use their own form of delivery. once my delivery never came & I was still charged. Just a horrible experience. If I didn't l love the cookies so much, wouldn't even bother ordering from them.

Serve, taste, and wait times are inconsistent. Sometimes you will get a fresh cookie and sometimes you won't. Orders placed ahead of time via app are never ready. Cookies taste great when they're freshly baked!

These cookies should be illegal. Discovered this place while out in college park, and fell in love with it. Forgot how good a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie could actually be. Reminded me of eating a batch of home baked cookies right out of the oven. I have now been to the college park and Georgetown locations. College was a smoother operation. Georgetown seems as though there may have been a few kinks in the process. However it could have just been a bad night. Since I knew how amazing these cookies were I was ok waiting on the line that took us about 25 mins to get our cookies. These cookies are the real deal. Drunk/Sober they will be amazing.

Cookies tasted awful. Like straight flour. This was such a waste of money. I purchased these as they were good feedback on Instagram, boy was I wrong.

Cookies were just ok (the deluxe chocolate chip oatmeal tasted very cinnamony and maybe had coconut in it?) but the customer service was awful. I'm sure they probably aren't paid enough, but I felt like I was imposing on the person working there, who seemed very annoyed to have to ring up my cookies. Go to Levain instead for one of their heavenly cookies - Insomnia pales in comparison.

All I can say is give it a try. The kids really enjoyed the chocolate chip and the chocolate chocolate cookies. The parents enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies and the oatmeal raisin cookies. Service was good. The location is small. They have a small selection of ice cream as well. Service was good.

Insomnia Cookies is a guilty pleasure for everyone with a sweet tooth. It's a tiny, tiny shop in Georgetown that bakes cookies fresh daily. They deliver them warm until 3AM daily and if you stop into the store, you can get a cookiewich, two cookies of your choosing with ice cream in between. I ordered chocolate chip cookies with M&Ms with chocolate chip cookie dough. It was so good and hit the spot! The service was excellent and for a small shop, they even have a public, clean restroom. They also sell milk (regular and chocolate). Not sure if this is good or bad, but their menu displays the calories you're eating down to the sprinkles you put on top.

I was tired of being home so decided to come out to Georgetown D.C to enjoy some delicious warm cookies. I got a box of 6 and also tried salted caramel and triple chocolate chip. Cookies were nice, warm and mouthwatering delicious. I was really pleased with their service. I was able to order online and the guy brought cookies out to my car. He was wearing gloves and a mask. I really appreciated that. If you are sick of being quarantined, definitely come out to enjoy these delicious treat.

This spot recently opened. Loved the friendly staff and quick service. Waiting area is really tight. Best to plan ahead what desserts you want. They have a unisex bathroom inside. You won't go wrong with any of their cookies and definitely give ice cream sandwich's a shot. The warm oven baked cookie and ice cream sandwich are delicious

Overall, great cookies and they have weekly deals. I lucked out and they were offering BOGO 12-packs for the weekend, so I ended up with an assortment of 24 delicious cookies (you can mix-and-match all the classic cookies). They're also offering a new CookieMagic subscription ($10/month) which includes a cookie everyday, free local delivery, discounted shipping, and access to other exclusive deals. I ordered my 12-packs of cookies for local delivery off of their website. Cookies were ordered 45 minutes in advance for a 5:30pm delivery time (earliest delivery times were ASAP and 5:15pm). They have an online cookie tracker to follow them from the baking process, to en route, and in hand. The cookie tracker isn't accurate- they marked my cookies as "fully delivered" as soon as the cookies were packed up and in the delivery person's hands (not the customer's hands). My guess is that this keeps their estimated delivery time average down. At 5:45pm (cookie delivery is 15 minutes late and counting), I receive a phone call from Insomnia Cookies that the driver is on his way (cookies were already marked as "delivered" in the tracker). Ten minutes later (5:55pm; cookies are 25 minutes late and counting), the driver calls me to confirm the address and discuss how he could enter the building. I will give them points for communication and "advanced planning," but I think their ordering system could be modified to set an estimated delivery window instead of a designated time because their current approach tends to lead to disappointment, late deliveries, and cold/room temperature cookies (part of their shtick is delivering warm cookies). I'm not sure if it's a manpower issue, technical issue, or maybe the BOGO deal put their cookies in high demand and I just had to get in line... but it makes me wonder how long I would be waiting if I selected "ASAP." Ten more minutes later (6:05pm; cookies are 35 minutes late and counting), the driver calls to let me know he's 30 seconds away (turns out to be more like 5 minutes away, but understandably, this is DC and traffic can be uncooperative). Funnily enough, the delivery guy wasn't a driver at all, but a biker. Kudos for keeping it green. Cookie boxes finally in hand (no longer warm, as anticipated), each box was sealed with an UberEats sticker (looks like Insomnia Cookies outsources their delivery services), which was appreciated to signal no tampering or sneaks from Cookie Monster fiends. Given that their value proposition is cookie delivery, their delivery component could be improved. But that being said, their cookies are an affordable crowd-pleaser. They have a variety of flavors so that there's something for everyone (even vegan options). I'll keep them in my back pocket for my cookie fix.

Let get to it... Insomnia Cookies is the best place to fulfill those late night munchies, if you enjoy fresh baked snacks, this is the place for you. You can order Cookies all day long and in the middle of the night (open til 3am). I'm taking my time sampling the entire inventory of cookie goodness, the Chocolate Chips and Peanut Butter are my favorite... so far. I recommend visiting a insomnia cookie establishment for a baked goods experience you will not soon forget.

This is the closest Insomnia cookies to me and where I always get my cookies. I've been a huge Insomnia fan since college, and I am yet to find a better cookie store than Insomnia! I especially love their warm chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of ice cream. I suggest joining their loyalty program for the best deals and promos. This location is consistently good. There is usually a street parking spot right in front of the store if you want to pick up. The surrounding Georgetown area is very pleasant if you prefer walk around and explore the neighborhood with your delicious Insomnia treat. 5/5!

Some of the worst customer service ever! I've been to the Insomnia Cookies in Charlottesville, but the Georgetown location is absolute crap. I ordered a 12-count box ahead of time and when I came to pick it up, the lady at the front ON THE PHONE WITH HER BOYFRIEND while customers were waiting, and when I did talk to her, she had a terrible attitude and was just being real bitchy. When the male employee came outside to give me my order, I was hit with the overwhelmingly strong smell of weed. I got home to enjoy the cookies with my sister, but the cookies were very stale. Definitely not worth driving out to.

Had a craving for cookies and was in front of their door right at opening to get the cookies! Luckily didn't have to wait long, got a box of 6 classic cookies (chocolate, double chocolate, oatmeal raisin, and white chocolate macadamia. Loved them! will come back.

Service can be lacking every now and then buttttt who really goes here for service? Late night cookie runs are the best. I always get chocolate & theyre to die for but i have tried the snickerdoodle and peanut butter and those are pretty damn good too

Cookie a la mode, please? Yes...a warm cookie served with a scoop of ice cream on top...its everything you hoped for.. A Delicious and a fun concept served with excellent customer service. But Honestly, one star deduction for the price...$6.00 for a cookie with a scoop of ice cream...but it is in Georgetown, so you already know the deal. This is Worth the experience...but I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

It was a warm night with cookies that I had from inosomina cookies .....they got the best service and they been always the best at the delivering or pickup....

Do NOT order for delivery. Delivery Service is terrible despite given ample of time and a hefty charge for delivery and mandatory tip.

Drove here to feed my greed after reading about it's opening on a blog site. Very small spot w/ just enough room to order and leave. Cookies were lukewarm but not a deal breaker. The taste, however... Classic w/ M&Ms - no joke, I almost vomited. Tasted horridly spoiled, maybe the butter was bad. Nasty. Snickerdoodle - undercooked. All I could taste was cinnamon and raw dough. Double chocolate mint- really good, nice flavor balance of rich chocolate and mint. Didn't try the white macadamia nut. Was too turned off by the classic m&m to eat anymore. Oatmeal raisin - tasty

Captain cookies is much better making ice cream sandwich they put 2 scoops of ice cream rather insomnia only one and smallest cookies Georgetown location has a long line every time I get there and no ice cream flavors

The sign said $2 off cookie sandwiches so I went in. Service poor, no help when I asked a question. I was told to figure out the menu. Prices were much higher than I saw online, and I never got the $2 discount. If I did, then $10 for two cookies and a scoop of ice cream is criminal. I should have walked out but I like supporting small local businesses. But this is one I won't be going back to.

Ordered 4 cookies at 8:10 pm. Should have arrived by 9:05 since I'm a mile out. Called them multiple times when it was around 9:10 9:15 since I can't track on Uber eats. Finally got through for someone to pick the phone up and hang up. I could tell by the chatter in the background Got my refund from Uber around midnight after calling. Insane and just poor costumer service here.

Several things to know: 1) it can be crowded and slow and understaffed 2) delivery is not as good as getting them fresh because they're not hot out of the oven 3) the cookies are absolutely amazing when fresh

Whoever worked on 1/30 at 1:30am is a rude ass lady. No welcome or nothing just straight up RUDE. Maybe she hasn't had a compliment in a while? Not sure. But being a first time customer walking in was very disappointing. When we asked her a simple question she had some attitude in her voice and body language. Cookies were decent. But Jesus Christ get this lady laid or something.

Not sure why the reviews are so mediocre for this place; it's hard to go wrong with cookies. That said, while we had an uneventful transaction, the woman serving us seemed to be really unhappy to be there (and completely uninterested in helping us). In any case, the cookies were dependable, if you might, and about as good as the other Insomnia location we've visited - i.e. delicious.

Why am I just now finding this place?! The cookies here are beyond amazing! With it being my first time here I purchased an ice cream sandwich, cookie-wich, with the chocolate chunk cookie and vanilla ice cream. That was sooo good! There are so many different cookies and ways to eat them, including your traditional cookies and milk. I came here with a friend very late one night after work and the place was filled with college students (at 12:30AM on a weekday, but whatever, they're college students). This place also delivers and they do a pretty good job with that. I will certainly be back. The workers were friendly (given the extremely high heat in the place and busyness with kids). Just left this location to get some late night treats. This was my first experience at an Insomnia Cookies, and although I will give the other locations in the DC area a shot, I will never return to the O street location due to the horrible customer service provided by a cashier named Dani (unsure on spelling of name). This occurred Friday 6/28 at approx 11pm, and I did inform the manager. I would also like to preface this review that at no time was I rude or being difficult- I have worked in customer service/food service for 10+ years. Me and my significant other have a huge sweet tooth. I'm a sugar cookie fanatic, so when I was waiting in line and heard the woman at the counter tell the customers in front of me she was out of sugar cookies bc they were just put in the oven, I got super excited and asked how long they would take to bake, I was told 10 minutes. The woman behind the counter seemed instantly annoyed that I asked this question. When my significant other came out of the bathroom, we took a moment to look at the menu to decide what we wanted (there was no one behind us in line btw). We took no more than 2 minutes to decide, and asked a couple typical questions about the menu. The whole time the cashier was tapping her finger and impatient as hell. My SO got a Bigwich (icing in the middle of 2 cookies) and I excitedly ordered 6 sugar cookies, telling Dani I would wait for them to come out of the oven since they'd be fresh. At the last minute, we added a bottle of 2% milk ($3.70, highway robbery!!) and that pissed Ms. Sunshine Dani off even more. While waiting for my fresh sugar cookies, I stepped outside to smoke a cigarette and my SO ate his cookie sandwich, which he said tasted great. Went back inside as Dani was packaging my cookies in the back. She came out saying "they are still really soft" and had 3 cookies each in 2 small individual cookie bags.... instantly ruining the fresh cookies and smashing them. I had seen the couple before me get a box, so I asked her if I could have one as they were getting smashed. "We are out of small boxes" she said. "Oh but I saw the couple before me leave with a box..." I replied. "A 24 count box?!" She asked me rudely, and she seemed like that was a crazy question, and with her bad attitude and my already poor experience, I left disappointed. As I got to my car, I changed my mind and decided I did in fact want that box to try and preserve what I could of the shape of the fresh cookies (which, see pictures, I wasn't really able to lol). I walked in and politely told Dani "actually I will take that box"... and she stormed to the back and grabbed one, and told me "I'm technically not allowed to give you this size box"... wanting to say a lot more than I did (like "did you really not realize my cookies were smashed putting them in 2 small bags?!" "Don't you just give a customer a box when they ask?!" Etc....) wanting to get the hell out of there, I mumbled "hmm I guess".... and this rude woman had the audacity to MOCK me "I guessssss" she said in a mocking voice. Being caught off guard, my comeback was really lame and I just mocked her right back. As I was leaving, there were two employees outside smoking cigarettes, and luckily one was the manager on duty. I informed him as politely as possible of my poor experience, Dani's horrible attitude, and that we would not be back. He didn't seem to care and had a smirk the whole conversation. I left after that, just over the whole experience. Listen, I don't write too many reviews, especially of this length nor do I try to take fast food places too seriously. Especially for some cookies. But honestly my whole order for 3 things was $22 freaking dollars.... and being a paying customer and all I would at least expect to be respected and treated as such, especially when I was nothing but kind. I'm hoping I just caught Dani on a bad night, but I sincerely hope management takes this complaint seriously and invests in some training for this horrible cashier with a serious attitude problem. Don't mock customers, Dani. It's unbecoming. Oh, and after all that the sugar cookies were just alright.

They just opened up at the Georgetown location and still ironing out the processes for pickup orders. The staff were friendly and I would definitely Italy go here again.

Love this place! It seems that all dessert places close at 10pm and this place is always open! Never had any issues with taste of cookies and we usually go late enough to where they give us extra cookies! Lastly, they offer $1 cookies for military! Sweet!

The cookies were yummy, but delivery was terrible! I wanted cookies before the midnight cutoff the night before surgery and ordered in plenty of time.... They didn't arrive until after one am! Called to cancel, but cookies were delivered anyway (woke me up), and not credited. So to be clear, cookies are yummy, delivery... not so reliable.

The guy in there is really nice and kind gave us free cookies not just one or 2 of them but 6 of them for free I really appreciate it and I would recommend anyone to go in there and the guy deserves a raise

The 5 starts are for the cookies and for the employee Tim. Give this guy a raise place or if he's not a manager yet, then make him one. His customer service skills is above and beyond most govt workers and contractors in the DC area. Thanks Tim for making us enjoy the experience.
