InterContinental Alpensia Pyeongchang Resort

This hotel was fantastic and definitely the best in the area. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were all incredibly kind and warm. Downstairs, they even put on a small classical concert at the bar which was very wholesome. The room was clean and modern. We went skiing in Yongpyeong but they also have slopes right in front of the hotel. The staff kindly advised us that Yongpyeong Mona was popular so we went there instead. Overall, it was a very good hotel and we had a great stay!

The location of the hotel was fantastic as it’s just next to the ski slopes. The hotel breakfast was good and the variety for the Korean dishes changes daily. There are a number of restaurants and convenience stores that are 5 mins away. The rooms are spacious and was comfortable to stay. The rooms may look dated but it’s very well maintained. The hotel staff were also able to converse in good English and checking in was easy. Would recommend this hotel for ski trips at alpensia.

For a 5 start hotel, they lack service and any decent amenities. The sauna/spa is a paid service and they won’t allow you to go and see it before using it. The trekkers (kids) club was closed whilst we were staying there. No reason as to why, we were directed to a paid service off site. There is a pool/waterpark offsite but this also an extra paid service. The rooms were dated with no air conditioning, we had to sleep with our balcony doors open. The fridge isn’t cold enough to store food and the furniture was chipped or very worn out. Super disappointed in our stay. Better off staying elsewhere if you have a baby/child.

The design is a quite old bur overall is a cosy stay. Nice view form slope view balcony. Great amenities from korean brand. Love the body lotion. Some hotel staff can’t commute well in English. There is a sticker on the bathroom wall from the day we checked in and it still there till we check out 3 days later.

One of the best ski resort I have ever visited. Beautiful location and views. Reception staffs and the managers were very helpful. They even organised a taxi from the train station. Buffet breakfast had a lot of options. I will definitely visit this place again. Thank you

A few reviews had noted that the hotel looked old, so I came here specifically to dispel that notion since we actually had some qualms about booking this hotel for that reason. It is still well kept despite some signs of aging. Overall, enjoyed my stay here in Jan 26. Location remains good close to the Alpensia ski slopes and Mona ski resort (KRW16,000 by cab to and fro by the way). Service staff were also responsive. Lastly, the breakfast was one of the highlights of the stay for us.

My friends and I came to Intercontinental Alpensia because we got a really good deal and expected to experience snow right at the resort. The snow arrived a bit later than we hoped but honestly, we still had such a good time! The room was lovely, the weather was perfectly chilly (sometimes too cold.. so come prepared!) and we were lucky to catch real snow at Mount Balsangwan by taking the cable car at nearby resort (Mona Yongpyeong)We have to give a huge shout out to the in-room dining service; the Beef Risotto and Frutti di Mare Pasta were soooo good. Truly delicious!The whole area is so pretty and calm, especially with the Christmas vibe when we visited. Everything felt cozy and magical. We definitely plan to return! ❄️💙

I have been staying here for 4 nights so far and though the room was clean, the interior seemed old and not reflective of what i expect from a 5 star hotel. The service is generally ok but one thing that shocked me was the laundry service price. I expected it to be per kg just like how laundry machines work but it was actually per piece! I was charged 157,500 won for this two bags of laundry! Personally, it was very unreasonable pricing. I should have asked but the receptionist should also be open about the pricing and let me know first before agreeing to it. I was shocked and felt like it was daylight robbery because the markup was way beyond what a reasonable person would have expected.
