InterContinental Boston, an IHG Hotel

"Why book? For waterfront views of an iconic slice of Boston Harbor (namely, the iconic clipper ship at the Tea Party Ships and Museum) and plenty of space to spread out, from the lobby to the pool. Newly renovated rooms and suites range from 420-square-foot rooms overlooking the verdant Rose Kennedy Greenway to a 2,100-square-foot corner Royal Ambassador suite—complete with two bedrooms, a service kitchen, plush living room, and a full office perched above the Fort Point Channel. Set the scene This property is classic downtown Boston thanks to its pairing of sparkling harbor views and manicured parks packed with public art–swathed bike paths (the Greenway, if you’re keen on sounding like a local). The property is a favorite among families and business types alike for its sprawling lobby and patio eateries; fireplace-flanked bar RumBa and Miel Brasserie. Its iconic glass outer stretches across Fort Point Channel, a narrow waterway separating the converted warehouses of Fort Point and Seaport from the densely settled downtown and South Station—which connects directly to Boston Logan Airport (and for totally free, via the Silver Line from arrivals). Neighborhoods just a stone’s throw away by foot include the historic Financial District, modern Seaport, and the cozy North End. The backstory Nearly wholly scrubbed of its prior 2000s-feeling furniture and finishings, the property wrapped up a two-year renovation in early 2022 that swapped red-leather everything for more subtle modern touches; think bright, airy interiors with pink-velvet chaises, plush navy throw pillows, and impressionist wall art that evokes the waters around the property. A massive, walk-through lobby stretches from the main thoroughfare of Atlantic Avenue back to a quiet green space on the channel, which is as popular with locals getting active outdoors as it is with families of out-of-towners heading for the adjacent Boston Children’s Museum and Hood Milk Bottle ice-cream shop (you won't miss it, as its outer is a larger-than-life milk bottle). The rooms If it’s a suite you’re here for, the property has plenty with corner views of the water so you can feel like you live in one of Boston’s most luxe real-estate corners. But rooms are well-appointed, too—there’s barely a bad view from this property—with workspaces, velvet banquette chairs, plush linens, and roomy standalone tubs with handy sliding-door windows that open into the room so you can doubly enjoy that waterfront view. Food and drink Punnily named RumBa attracts suits from the nearby offices both day and night for drinks, while Miel is the hotel breakfast option that turns into a moodier French bistro by night. The real gem of both concepts, though, is the outdoor patio where you can enjoy a stretch of sun and grass on this quiet respite of the busy Boston waterfront—it’s rare to find a truly waterfront terrace in this part of town, but this one is. The spa A sprawling hotel almost always needs an equally sizable spa, and Spa Intercontinental doesn’t disappoint, with 6,600 square feet of saunas, massage rooms, and a pool. The space is open to guests for pool and sauna use, and treatments are available by appointment. The service Friendly and helpful without being over-the-top. Check-in is a breeze, and warm staff will offer to grab your bag or valet your car (parking under the hotel is a welcome amenity in this part of town) as soon as you’re inside. Accessibility ADA rooms are available, and elevators and ramps are in use throughout the property. Anything left to mention? A picturesque waterfront option for comfort and location alike, the Intercontinental Boston upgrades and anchors any visit to this unique and historic city." - Shannon McMahon

Boston’s 14 Best Outdoor Drinking Destinations | Eater

"Repeat after us: “VodkaBa.” Congratulations — you’re speaking like a true local. If you need a translation, that’s “vodka bar” with a Boston accent, and this little spot hidden in the back of the waterfront district’s Intercontinental Hotel is a shrine to the beloved European booze. Sit at the cozy bar to sample an impressive selection of vodkas from near and far, or catch a whiff of sea breeze on an outdoor terrace overlooking Fort Point Channel. Their terrace is best enjoyed with a fizzy, fruity cocktail in-hand, like the Spritz made White Peach & Rosemary Grey Goose Essences." - Vox Creative

Excellent, newer hotel in the Seaport area. This location is great for tourists. Walkable to Boston Common, Quincy Market, North End, Aquarium. Modern rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our discounted (meeting) room rate was good for expensive Boston. However, they overcharge for food. Lunch for two (one shared lobster roll and two glasses of wine) cost about $100. Our breakfast ($45 buffet per person the only option) set us back $120. We are light breakfast eaters, so we went to a nearby bakery after the first morning. The seaport area is stunning. About 2 blocks to the South Station transit center, but we used Lyft instead.

Hotel lobby is very inviting with beautiful fresh flower arrangements. Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. Location is terrific, nice area to walk the harbor and close proximity to the upcoming Seaport. Room was clean and well appointed. We arrived in the morning and we were able to check in which was a big bonus. One drawback is that the bathroom and sleeping area are separated by a sliding frosted window above the bathtub. While this is a nice feature, it is very obtrusive in the evening as any time you turn on the bathroom light, it lights up the whole bedroom. It is at the head of the bed so no way to avoid the light in the middle of the night if you are using restroom. Doesn't seem to be a very functional feature. Sliding panels should be opaque so the light does not come through or install a blind or curtain. It is very disruptive during the evening. Overall a very nice stay and beautiful hotel. Design team just may want to re-evaluate this feature and add some type of covering so the light does not flow through to bedroom.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the InterContinental in Boston. The location is ideal — central yet quiet, and right next to the historic Tea Party site. Most of the city’s main attractions are within easy walking distance, which made exploring Boston a true pleasure.||Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the overall ambiance of the hotel calm and refined. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous selection and high-quality options to start the day right.||We loved our stay and will definitely return the next time we’re in Boston. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of elegance in the heart of the city.

Absolutely amazing, from the moment we arrived.|From the beautiful layout, to the impeccable staff, every moment we shared at this hotel was a pleasure. |We spent three nights in a suite (room 641) during our stay and enjoyed the onsite spa, bar and restaurant with our family (room 801). staff at fellini and matria are incredible - markus, fierny, helen, and everyone made each sitting of lunch, dinner and drinks feel like a special occasion. there are so many names I am missing, but the teams from both bar and restaurant are truly exceptional.|the entire hotel is a wonderful combination of casual comfort and pristine elegance, accomplished effortlessly by a team that clearly cares about every detail.|we were so enchanted by the visit, we plan to return in november for another stay.|to the team of IHG, thank you for making our visit (june 24-27) storybook worthy. with the stress and mess of the world as it is, you really made these days paradise.

We did not feel that this hotel was a five star hotel. The design was nice but that was it. We were there for a conference and just felt so off with the experience. The AC was not working on our first day. Someone came and tried to assess the situation, eventually the filter of the HVAC was changed at 10PM. We have a 4 yr old child with us and he ended up staying past his bedtime. It was a busy night but this was totally off coming from a 5 star hotel. We ordered room service for breakfast and the price we paid did NOT justify the food served. Lower class hotels can provide better food at a better and reasonable price. There was also parking that cost $65/24hr stay. THE PARKING WAS CHEAPER IF WE WEREN’T HOTEL GUESTS. Shouldn’t it be cheaper for those staying at the hotel? Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

My team had a leadership off-site meeting February 24th-26th. Our sleeping accommodations were fantastic- everyone complimented at how nice the rooms are especially the bathrooms! beds are super comfortable. The staff was incredible and very accommodating and helpful throughout our meeting. They went above and beyond to ensure our experience was better than 5 STARS! We commented to each other that it will be hard to go elsewhere for future off-sites as the hospitality was over the top! Thank you for an amazing experience and for hosting our team.

Google
This was my first stay. 1) I loved the free coffee in the AM in the lobby -- Huge 2) Bed - below average and limited bedding 3) Room upgrade was nice with a nice bathroom and soaking tub! 4) Location - GREAT for seaport location - esp children's museum. 5) Not ideal for older couples/adults -- lots of kids that overrun the pool area. 6) Nice Spa (didn't use, but cost was in line with local rates) 7) Food is minimal -- only one restaurant with a limited menu. 8

Google
We stayed here during July 4th, it was a disaster. I really wish I could rate 0. At 10pm the first day when we got back and opened the room door, there was an INSECT (size of a quarter coin) on the curtain. We were shocked and called the front desk, which suggested to have someone come up to remove the bug but we insisted to change room. At 8:15am the second day, the room phone rang and woke us up. The staff on the other end immediately said "wrong number" and hang up. We do not know who called, we do not get any apology, nothing. Just a wake up call. After we checked out I got a text from hotel manager asking about my experience, so I responded with all above. That person messed up my gender by calling me "Ms", and although he said he will pass it to management team I haven't heard anything from anyone since then. Boston is a beautiful place but this terrible hotel ruined everything. I can't believe this is what we experience in a 5-star hotel. Terrible place, I'll never come again and won't recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Wonderful stay here in Boston recently! This was one of the hotels we chose to stay at during our East Coast trip around the states, and after going back-and-forth between several different nearby hotels, we decided on intercontinental. We chose this hotel based on the location of it being close to some of the main attractions, such as the Boston tea party attraction and being close to the airport. This was our first time to Boston, so we wanted to be close to all of the tourist spots. We got a room with pretty great views of the Boston tea party ship & museum location as well as the rest of the city. Our room was decent and spacious. Nothing spectacular but nice. Beds were extremely comfortable which is a huge plus. House cleaning services was excellent and did a nice thorough job of cleaning up our room every day. We ordered room service breakfast several times from the restaurant Miel and everything we ordered was absolutely excellent! Presentation as well as taste! Our only real complaint would be the cost of parking per day. $65 a day! It's valet style so you give them your ticket when you're leaving the hotel and they bring you your car. Most of all the valley guys working we're very nice but I thought the $65 a day for parking was a bit much. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. This was our first time staying at in InterContinental and would be curious to check out another one in the future.

Yelp
Great location near Chinatown and central Downtown boston but a bit of a walk from the old town/Hynes convention area. The hotel Is quiet and very well maintained as it was recently renovated. The staff are wonderful. The beds are comfortable but not necessarily plush. It was odd to me that there were no nespresso machines in the room or tea bags just keurig. This could have been better for the whopping price you pay.

Yelp
To preface, I booked through Traveluro since it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper. The pros: the service is wonderful. Our neighbor was playing loud music at 3am and they immediately sent somebody to deal with it. The staff are very responsive and helpful. The hotel and rooms are also beautiful, and it is very closely located to Chinatown and lots of tourist attractions. The cons: if you're staying on the side of the building facing the main road, you will hear the fire department sirens going off all day and night. They do not stop. Additionally, there are so many hidden fees. I'm not sure if it's because I booked with Traveluro, but they charged us an extra $200 in fees for our stay. Upon arrival, they ask you for a credit card for a $750 deposit. If there are no charges, they will return the money at the end of your stay. However, there is around $35-40 of fees everyday for state or city regulations. This felt extremely scammy and should have been included in the upfront cost. There is almost no space in the mini fridge for your personal items. There is only a 6x6 inch corner. Additionally, if you remove anything from the minibar, the fridge automatically detects it and charges you. I was scared that putting my personal items in would disrupt their minibar. I also noticed one of the slots was empty, and I didn't know if it had been empty since our arrival. For these two reasons, I actually went to the front desk to check if there were any charges. Sure enough, there was a charge even though we hadn't taken anything from the minibar. The staff were very kind and quick to remove this charge, but the entire situation just could've been executed better with a more transparent list of your fees and a better minibar system.

Yelp
Glorious rooms and every bit of luxury getaway in the heart of Boston. Perfect place for families too because the children's museum and aquarium are a block - two blocks away. Rooms are large for a city. Amenities are what you'd expect from a high end hotel. Modern, beautiful and amazing! Service and staff are friendly and go beyond to help. There's a pool, spa, and business center as well as a gym. The property itself is massive. If you're looking for old feel boston, this is not it.. go search back bay hotels for that vibe...but if you want modern updated sophistication, here is your best option. Everything is within walking distance but you can get a little more peace and quiet when it's time to rest. Bathrooms are generously sized with separate tubs and beds are comfortable and sheets that are oh so soft!

Busty O.

Yelp
Very, inexcusably dirty room with bugs and unidentified white powder. Comically bad view for an "upgrade" to a suite, basically cannot see anything except a rooftop covered in used cigarettes. Furniture is run down and old. Carpet is suspect. Valet basically ignored us, and absolutely no perks for IHG membership. This was a super disappointing stay, 2 nights week of 6/13/24. Room 539. Do not recommend. You'll be better off at a basic holiday inn. What a decline, this used to be a beautiful property!!

Yelp
The hotel itself is beautiful. My room was immaculate and had a great view. I would give it a 9 out of 10. Having said that the staff is even more impressive checking in I was greeted by Tacina warm and friendly and informative. But if you want to know where all the best restaurants are in Boston, I have never met a concierge more informed than Rob Fournier. I consider myself a foodie and all of his suggestions were places that I also agreed with and then there were a few I didn't know about. Thank you, Rob & Tacina for making my stay a fabulous time I'm looking forward to returning soon!

Yelp
Had a great stay here recently. Location is excellent and the views are good. Loved the spacious bedroom and bathroom. One heads up - if you have a problem with fragrance, bring your own soap and lotion. Everything is in permanent wall holders so you have no options and all of it is a heavy scent. I was not fond of it, but had nothing else with me. Otherwise, friendly staff makes the experience a good one.

Yelp
Love this hotel. Lobby was full of relaxing, comfortable couches, magazines, tables for laptops and beautiful BIG fresh flowers. The spa is a full service A++, including a swimming pool, an excellent hot steam sauna in women's room, rain showerhead, new combs and other daily products in women's room. The gym is full geared. The rooms had a big bathtub, very clean. My 5.5 yr old daughter was in the bathtub while I was in the shower. Love the high-quality heavy robe! At 4pm, there's bottled water and delicious dark chocolate complimentary delivery. The location of this hotel is walking distance to Children's museum, Boston tea party museum, New England aquarium, Equinox, the two bridges, Hood ice cream, and so much more. Absolutely enjoyed my stay here and LOVE the restaurants too!

Thomas M.

Yelp
The hotel will overcharge you and then not respond to you if you follow up with them about the charges. Took a credit card charge back and an email to IHGs CEO, Investor Relations, and IHG ambassador program to finally get a response. I don't know what racket Patrick McInerney is running over there. Besmirching the McInerney name. Plenty of other nice hotels in Boston. Don't need to stay at this one and risk being over charged with no resolution until you have a credit card company back you.

Yelp
I stayed here for a couple days on my last trip to Boston - no pix to share but certainly top notch rooms , bar and amenities but naturally it doesn't come cheap ! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Thank you IC Boston! My stay was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel if staying in the boston area. Centrally located and staff is great. The rooms are amazing. I got upgraded for my birthday stay and got to stay on the club levels. Beautiful room with views of the city. Nice pool and gym area as well. Got to enjoy the pool. I will be coming back here again on my next stay.

Yelp
came with mama on her recent work trip. great hotel right on the water overlooking the boston harbor and tea party ship. nice room that we had. great central location and easily walkable to most nice bars and restaurants. outdoor grassy area is a nice touch and can keep kids occupied.

Kelli K.

Yelp
The latest changes to the hotel bar are disappointing. It now feels cold instead of inviting. The TV systems need to be upgradeded to allow for streaming etc. This used to be a grand hotel, now it is average. The front desk staff used to be super friendly, now they are bland and seem like they don't like their jobs. Do better.
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Beautiful luxury hotel Loved the deep tub, comfortable bed, delicious room service breakfast and giant TV. Nice bar downstairs. We took our drinks outside to enjoy the view. Pricey but worth it!

Yelp
I felt like Royalty today, while I was attending a sponsorship event for "Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast" this morning. We arrived at 6:30 AM and we were whisked into the hotel and we were told where to go and enjoy your special day. Once we went to the main area outside the conference breakfast room. We met all the main people and were told what to expect for the morning meeting. We went into the main room and to our table sat and drank some coffee. The waitstaff every attentive, even though they were still setting up. Our table #2 was the place to be! We sat with all the head women that spoke during this event. I had a great time and the crew was amazing I felt like a CEO. The breakfast was delicious an egg frittata with fresh asparagus, cheddar, served with tiny roasted potatoes and perfectly done bacon 4 strips. A fresh seasonal fruit plate, with black and red raspberries, pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe melons sliced, and blueberries. This hotel was gorgeous and the service was impressive. What a beautiful event in an equally wonderful hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. A #1 place to spend some time or even a night or two.

Joe M.

Yelp
Great location in downtown Boston. Room was made up on arrival, but certainly not clean. City view rooms are directly across the street from a Firehouse. Sirens all night long. I have stayed at other IHG properties and this hotel does not seem to meet the standards of this group. Will not stay here again.
google avatar

Yelp
The rooms here are great Location is awesome as it's right near the harbor. Great bar and views from the bar of the harbor Centrally located to a decent number of restaurants and places to drink!! I got upgraded to a suite which was great but the view sucked....kind of anticlimactic Great service and breakfast was tasty but pricey! Enjoy!!
google avatar

Yelp
We asked for a room with a view, we did not get it. Had to go back to the desk to request a different room. They took our bags and said our room with the view wasn't ready, and they would call us when we could Come back and check in...several hours later, we never got a call. We called and it was an over seas line... We had to leave our plans to go back to this hotel to get our room figured out. We get to the desk they bring our bags and give us a room with a view, Great. Our plans were ruined and we essentially stayed in for the night because we were inconvenienced. It's now 2am and yes it is almost 80 degrees in the room...AC has been turned on since we got in the room. Temperature has not budged. This has been nothing short of a nightmare! A complete miserable experience at this hotel. You can top off the night with a $60 bottle of wine that has a crusty cork that crumbled in my wine and TVs that still support VCR and are not compatible with any smart phone or laptop.

Yelp
My best friend and I decided to do a staycation here in February 2023. We absolutely LOVED our stay! The amenities made it feel like we actually traveled to a new city. We used the pool multiple times. The gym is also fantastic. We upgraded our stay to included breakfast for two, which I highly recommend! The hotel is also in the best location. It's near so many great restaurants and museums. Definitely consider this hotel for your stay in Boston!

Yelp
Short review: service, amenities and prices in line with expectations of a 4 Diamond hotel. Parking on site is available ($44 per day) via the adjacent Icon Parking garage with direct access to the hotel. The staff was very polite and friendly, the room was spacious, again all in line with expectations. The buffet this morning was a bit unimpressive. Scrambled eggs, French toast, potatoes , bacon and sausage were the hot options - nothing bad but nothing overly flavorful either. If you want any juice, be sure to ask as it's included just not sitting out (possibly due to Covid). The kids menu pancakes looked tastier than anything I ate. All this might have been because of the pending hurricane and/or Covid. Enter the spa to access the gym and pool. Weights, Peleton bikes, treadmills and a rowing machine are available in addition to free weights. The pool is prob 20'50. A few chairs/ loungers are along 2 sides. There's also a shower head to rinse off after your swim. Towel are provided as you enter the spa. Location was perfect for what we needed, downtown and on the waterfront near the places/restaurants we wanted to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
This lived up to every expectation one might have. The room was luxurious and the service throughout was top notch. Attentive and champions at pronouncing my name and greeting me as such, anticipating needs and checking my bags, etc. One of the best surprises was leaving for an evening out with friends and returning to a freshened room with restocked towels and calming chocolates. If I can swing it, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
My first hotel since the start of the Covid pandemic. Came here for a weekend visit with my husband to support our mutual friend, whose daughter was undergoing her third open heart surgery. The hotel was super nice and very spacious. Their rooms are thoroughly cleaned and I didn't have any lingering doubts regarding the staff's dedication to their efforts on our behalf. We mainly stayed in for sleeping/shower/changing purposes. The rest of our time was spent with our friends or exploring the city of Boston. Our room had a great view of the city and was quiet and clean, everything we needed it to be. A bonus is I got to take a nice long bath during my stay. Showers are faster and baths are more of a luxury... so I am glad my stay allowed some time for me to take a moment to myself for some self care. All in all a very nice hotel room. Would 10/10 recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Amazing experience!! Super friendly staff! I loved everything about this hotel and how they treat their guest. This hotel would be my first recommendation

Patty C.

Yelp
This is the best smelling hotel I've ever stayed at! Seriously - you walk in the lobby and aaahhhh ... it smells so good! Room was clean and had a great view of the street and skyline. Restaurants were closed for renovation.

Debra M.

Yelp
No transparency, previously undisclosed additional charges required on check in. Came for a concert, made us late. Didn't stay at the hotel. I wasn't paying in advance for incidentals! Agreed upon room rate increased by $200 in advance. Zero compassion or helpfulness. I even joined their vip, listened to their sales pitch for their Holiday club, supposedly earning 500 points, for all the good that did! They ruined an irreplaceable dream venue! Morgan Wallan ... missed the first hour and 1/2 of the show! Missed Bailey Zimmerman, start of Hardy...Never again! I'm 63 years old, missed opportunity.... How many more chances do I have like that? Shame on you!

Yelp
With everything that's going on up here in Boston because of covid, this hotel did an outstanding job with all of our requests we made. The room was outstanding, very clean, very spacious, huge restroom, and a with water view. We had no complaints. The bed was very comfy as well. The only thing we had to ask for was a small refrigerator, and a microwave to reheat all of these leftovers, other than that it was a fabulous hotel and room.
google avatar

Anne K.

Yelp
Outstanding customer service. Every single family member has stayed here at some point and myself, multiple times. It's always chosen for the beautiful location and great service. Today, my room is probably my least favorite because I don't like the roof view. it distracts from the water view. Still a family favorite and we will be back.

Erica L.

Yelp
Horrible experience. We were told our room wasn't ready (an hour after check in) and when I said we have to get ready to go to a wedding the front desk told us we could use the gym. Humiliating. They wouldn't offer any discount or other solutions, just free breakfast. It felt like a scam, not a luxury hotel. Horrible customer service. And the bed was stained after we finally got in it at MIDNIGHT.

Yelp
One of the best hotel stays ever! After spending the day in the airport with 5 hours of delays we arrived fried to the InterContinental and then everything improved! First off I love the smell of this lobby - like a relaxing spa kind of sent when you walk in and ice cold cucumber water awaits you at check in - great start! Then we got upgraded to a king suite which was one of the largest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in and everything was modern and clean. Huge living room w half bath, separate bedroom and a monster size bathroom with full tub and walk in shower with the best water pressure of any hotel! Hotel has a nice gym and pool. Staff was always super friendly. Restaurant on site was great for breakfast and dinner and the bar was solid at night. Great location for sightseeing. I cannot wait to come back again!!!

Jialan M.

Yelp
this hotel is racist for Asian, when I go for a breakfast buffet, their attitude is REALLY BAD, and cancel my table without notification, they let other people in after 11am, but they only allowed me use to go box to grab some food. I start my waiting since10:40am and there is a lot of empty tables, but wait until 11:10 for nothing.

Yelp
We stayed here for almost two weeks for a 5th anniversary vacation. Overall the hotel was nice if you are traveling on business but this is ABSOLUTELY NOT the place to go for vacation. List of issues: Room was dirty when we got there (earing backing on sink and hair in tub proved it wasn't clean). We also didn't have wash clothes until I requested them twice. They didn't have whirlpool tubs as advertised on some travel sights which is the ONLY reason I booked the hotel in an inconvenient location - nobody did anything to make this right. We were put as far from an elevator as possible which was a pain over an almost two week vacation which already had lots of walking. Surprise $30 daily resort fee (no one told me until we checked out) to cover turn down service we only used once, gym we never used, and pool we never used because it closed early and was more of a lap pool than a swimming pool. Very limited room service menu that got old after one day. No lunch service which sucks if you come from a different time zone and need food mid-day. $55 a day valet parking (which isn't unusual) but valets were rude. On first day out, I was rushed and honked at multiple times because the valet put the vehicle in the path of traffic. Small spot in fridge that wasn't big enough for a bottle of soda. No microwave. Coffee pot down under cabinet where I had to get on the floor to use it (it too was extremely dirty the first time I used it.) TVs are old. A lot of hotels these days have smart tvs that you can connect to. At minimum, I expected to be able to connect a gaming system or laptop via an HDMI cable - this wasn't possible because of how the tvs are connected to the wall. Makeup mirror had almost no light. The only really good thing about this hotel was the concierge service. I have no plans to stay in an IHG hotel for another vacation again.

Yelp
Overall, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Checked in a bit late after some tiring traveling, and the front desk upgraded me to an executive suite! Truly an incredible room--the bathtub was amazing as well to soak in. The amenities were equally incredible. The indoor pool was lovely and the gym was huge with proper weight sizes (thank you for having more than 50 lb dumbbells). Too bad I live in Boston, because I might stay here again in the future. Unfortunately, the only thing that went wrong was that my dry cleaning arrived 40 minutes late. But the way the staff handled that was also beautifully done, and I still think this warrants a 5 star stay. Status: IHG Spire Ambassador

Yelp
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel to stay at and central to many landmarks in Boston. The hotel sits along the Boston harbor and is minutes from their central subway station. I boarded a bus directly from the Logan airport, which took roughly 20 minutes to arrive at the central subway station, followed by a 5 minute way to the hotel. The hotel is very noticeable from the outside as it is guided in glass. As you enter the hotel, you are immediately greeted by the doormen. Floral arrangements, high ceilings, and marble can be seen in the lobby. Mixture of glass, metal and wood frame the Front Desk, where I was greeted and checked in by a warm agent. Boston is a small city and so most landmarks are either walkable or a short station away by bus and subway. I chose the InterContinental Boston so that I can utilize my Ambassador membership for upgraded rooms and stay amenities. I received an upgrade to a room with a view on a high floor. Instead of receiving a sweet or savory amenity, which in the past consists of a mixture of fruit or crackers, cookies, nuts - a $20 credit is provided for food and beverage within the hotel. The room was rather spacious with a modern yet elegant design. Clean and warm colors really make a room comforting. The bathroom though, I liked the concept of sliding windows that when opened allows it to become one with the entire room. I like that newer updated hotels are bringing the bathroom one with the room either with sliding doors and in this case sliding windows; it adds a spa like experience, that and the television set can also be enjoyed. As for the bathroom amenities, this InterContinental utilizes the Gilchrist & Soames brand instead of the brand standard Agraria. Neither of which are my favorite of amenities as I have used others from competing hotel brands. However, Gilchrist & Soames did serve its purpose for my stay. As I was in Boston visiting family, the food and beverage outlets were not fully utilized during my stay. I did have breakfast at the Miel Brasserie Provencale, which is located at the back of the hotel. That is where I utilized my $20 food and beverage credit for eggs benedict and orange juice. Majority of what I ate was outside of the hotel. For some fresh air, there is an entry way at the back of the hotel just past the restaurants. From there you can take a stroll along the harbor. Staff was polite and attentive welcoming and saying good-bye as guests and myself would come and go. I enjoyed my stay here and is on my list of hotels to return to.

Yelp
How is this as an example of one the most offensive and dishonest business practices. Intercontinental charges a daily amenity fee of $35.00 on every reservation. It is a never discussed - and only disclosed buried in their footnotes - fee for the use of the gym and spa. If you fail to pick it up when they send the confirmation, you are on the hook. Despicable. Never again

Yelp
Location, location, location! This is waaay off the tourist path. So if you're looking to go where all the action is, this is not the place. Pool is mostly a lap pool. It is a very clean hotel. However, had to request a few changes be made to the bed. No mini frig access I guess cause of Covid! It's a fair place to stay but like I said if you want to go where all the action is, find something different.

Yelp
This hotel was a horror! The room was to be paid for by a relative - but the hotel insisted on taking my credit card when I checked in, and I was told the charge would be removed in a few days once they had made sure that I had not trashed the room. I am a musician, but not a rock star, and I don't trash rooms, thank you very much!!! Well, two and a half weeks later, the charge is still on my card. I spent an hour on the phone with them, and they still have not resolved the issue. It takes me more than two months to earn the amount charged for the room - which was a group rate, no less! So outrageous. I was not able to sleep a minute, because the sheets are clearly washed in scented soap, and the artificial perfume of the detergent had be gagging all night. The bathroom floor was marble. The shower leaks onto the floor - making for a very dangerous situation. I have a friend who died after slipping on a wet marble floor. It was treacherous. The toilets are made for kindergarteners - so low. And there are no grab bars. Clearly, anyone who is over a certain age would have a problem with this. And they were unable to log me into their internet. When I complained, they said, oh, there is nothing we can do until tomorrow. And, when I checked in it was 9 at night. I had taken the train in. All of the food stalls in the station were closed, and I had not eaten anything all day. I asked at the desk where there might be an affordable restaurant nearby. The clerk told me there was nothing. I was so hungry. I turns out there was a Thai restaurant (which happens to be my favorite) directly across the street that is open every night until 10. When I told this same clerk about this after I discovered it two days later, she denied the conversation she had with me, saying I was asking her about the time. (Time? What???) Just an all around horrible experience. And I still have not been able to resolve the payment situation. Hate this place - would not recommend it to anyone!!!

Yelp
We had the best time here this weekend. Since this year has been life changing for us all, I decided to host a cute covid safe wine & onesie girls night at Intercontinental Boston and I'm so happy I did! I booked two rooms- the Superior Suite and a connecting double Queen room for our wine & onesies night. The Superior Suite was gorgeous with a corner floor to ceiling view of the city, deep jacuzzi tub (and separate shower), two bathrooms, etc. The double Queen was amazing as well with a spacious bathroom (jacuzzi tub and shower included). Let me tell y'all readers that we had thee best time evvvah! The rooms were absolutely perfect and the ice machine was right down the hall without a Karen in sight! Our masseuse had more than enough room to set up the bed and heat warmer machine for hot towels. What really made our stay A+ was the friendly service received from John upon arrival and Inilta during checkout. Thank you both for being so kind and accommodating! I will definitely stay here again without hesitation. Other notes: -No microwave or mini fridge in the rooms. The mini bar was locked (I thought it was the fridge) but when I called guest services to inquire they told me there are no fridges in the room. I read another review that stated fridges & microwaves were available upon request. Considering the money I spent on both rooms that's info I should've been privy to (hence the -1 star deduction) -Overnight Icon valet parking: $44/ 24 hours -Room keycard needed to access the floors -Lobby bar/restaurant RumBa is open -No smart TVs - we weren't sure how to hookup our phones with the usb to their TVs to watch Versuz, however it sadly was cancelled because Ashanti caught covid.

Yelp
We stayed here for a girls trip while in Boston. The hotel was a in a prime location in downtown Boston. The reception and lobby area were very nice and and clean. The room was also very clean. We also enjoyed the gym, it was very well equipped (way more than most hotel gyms). However I had to remove one star because there was no fridge in the room, they did not provide water bottles, and there was a $30 amenity fee per night stayed upon checkout. This was not previously advertised and outside is the gym, I am not sure what other amenities are included in this price. Overall enjoyed the experience at the Intercontinental Boston, but be aware of the items mentioned in my review.

Yelp
lousy check in service - had to wait hours after the 3:00 pm checking time to get a room! No one in hotel staff really seemed to care. Room availability time changed multiple times!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous, chic hotel this week Loved the location, near the seaport Fantastic, bend over backwards, service Room - king bed - was huge - 450* sq feet, like a 1 br suite without a wall separating the living room portion from the sleeping portion

Yelp
What a first class experience!!! We just completed a three-day visit, and couldn't have asked for better service throughout. Great reception at check-in, as we were warmly welcomed and given an upgrade to a limited water view room due to my Platinum status. Rooms are well appointed with high quality sheets that are seemingly pressed and fresh each day. Two robes, slippers and quality toiletries are provided. We had room service one morning and dined in the restaurant one morning; the quality of the food items and service provided were excellent. In fact, we received warm welcomes and sincere greetings upon each of our daily comings and goings, from the valet, reception desk, and adjoining concierge, with a nod of their head. How nice!!! We had turndown service each night, with water and the expected chocolate. We enjoyed morning delivery of a choice of papers. Though the business center charges for the use of the computer and printer, the reception desk suggested that I send her an email with the attachment I needed so she printed it out for me. Of course, there's free accessing and printing of boarding passes. A great hotel with excellent proximity to area attractions, etc.

Yelp
The service at this hotel is top notch. I didn't have a single negative experience the entire stay. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. Room service is delicious and was always delivered quickly. The nightly turn down service was a nice touch with bottled water. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The lobby is spacious, the valet was helpful and professional. When we got to our room it was a little weird waiting for our bags to come up but they were very prompt. The view is what we came for and we are in heaven.
