This is my home away from home in Houston. The location is great. I love the fact that they don’t have mandatory valet like most other hotels in the area. The self parking is in a connected parking garage to the hotel and very secure so you never get caught in the rain. Self parking also comes with in and out privileges so you never have to repay to park for the entirety of your stay. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Hotel rooms are clean and maintained. Wife loves the hotel shampoo. The hotel’s restaurant and room service food’s quality is fantastic. The pool is a bit small but is never really busy so it’s always great place to relax. Highly recommend if you’re looking to stay near the museum district or near the football stadium.

Stayed for 4 nights. Used room service and attempted to use the laundry credit included in $20 amenity fee charged per night. Called to have someone pick up a pair of shorts to be washed, but it was returned to my room unwashed. The $10 daily laundry allowance will cover about 1 article of clothing or a couple smaller items. I didn’t need it but the ice machine was down the duration of my stay. Cleaning staff in hallways were always very friendly, and I was always greeted unlike the valet/outdoor entrance staff. I did not have a car, but I did wait outside for rides or to orient myself for walking. No one said anything to me which was a little disappointing due to the level I expect from the Intercontinental brand. Maybe I would have had a different experience if I had a car. Lobby was spacious and airy, but as I waited for a ride, it was hard to ignore the stain on the couch in the picture I added. I’m surprised no one noticed this enough to address since all guests would be passing it.

I was in town for Beyoncé’s concert this past weekend and booked this hotel two days prior. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in on any trip I have been on. The customer service was top tier. From the valet, to the bar, to the front desk, it was a top notch experience. The hotel and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was located in a great location on Main Street, and very close to great places to eat. What I appreciated mostly was the text messages throughout my stay asking me about my room and if I needed anything at the moment. I rarely say that hotels are in pristine condition, but this one certainly was. This will be the only one I stay in anytime I visit Houston!

I love staying at the Intercontinental. Mostly all of my hotel selections, I make sure to stay at one of the locations. My cousin and I attended a concert close by and it was a no brainer to book here! This stay felt different, it felt like home. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and attentive. From the waitress at the lounge remembering I like apple juice in the morning and to the warm greetings of “Welcome back. How was your day today?,” was just awesome. The Byredo hair and body care line is always a plus and gives an extra luxury vibe. It doesn’t feel like you’re staying at a hotel, it makes you feel right at home. Rooms were always clean and the bedsheets were always so cozy. ||Also, shout out to Dante from the front desk. He recommended a lot of great local restaurants and made us feel at home with common knowledge of our hometown, San Diego. It was nice seeing a familiar face everyday when we walked in and out of the hotel. - Janette A. San Diego, CA.

I stayed here when visiting Rice University and the rooms were clean and close to the museum district. Staff was friendly and hospitable, seemed like a busy and well-attended hotel. Hallways were a little humid, but room temperature was fine. Would definitely recommend.

Google
A good hotel to stay at in Houston. The food here is excellent especially the club sandwich and their dessert menu has a great selection of cheesecakes (servers are also very friendly and attentive). Front desk is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Overall I recommend this hotel to those traveling to Houston.

Google
This hotel is my go-to when I visit Houston for medical check ups. It is within walking distance to the medical center, but it’s Al’s within walking distance of Rice Village. The check-in is always seamless, the room is always consistently excellent—clean, comfortable with all amenities needed for a few days, including an inroom coffee maker, mini fridge, and electric kettle for those morning appointments or flights that are so early the restaurant isn’t even open yet. The best part of this hotel is the dining. The staff are phenomenal—warm, kind, super competent and attentive. The food is always wonderful, and the setting is comfortable.

I’ve stayed at the InterContinental Houston Medical Center many times before, but this visit was a bit disappointing. I was in town for a friend’s medical appointment and Rodeo Houston. Unfortunately, my room wasn’t ready at check-in, which was frustrating after a long day of travel. The lobby furniture is starting to look worn, which is surprising for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast service was also an issue. I wasn’t able to eat before the appointment because no tables or bar space were clean, and despite waiting, I was completely ignored by staff. I ended up walking to Starbucks instead, which wasn’t ideal. When I finally got to my room, it was uncomfortably hot—thermostat set at 78 degrees. Once cooled down, though, the room was comfortable, and it was about as quiet as you can expect for the area. I do appreciate the Byredo amenities, which are a nice touch. Overall, this stay didn’t live up to my previous experiences. For the price point, I expect better service and attention to detail. Hopefully, these issues are addressed soon.

Yelp
We stayed here because we were visiting my family for the holidays but didn't want to impose on the space issues they have. Cue being in the heart of the med center (which I know, why a former fellow Houstonian chooses a BUSY place), for the proximity to the museums and Rice university walkability. We loved the shuttle service which took us to the zoo and the near by museums and also stayed at InterContinental on the Club Suite level! We were greeted warmlay upon check in, and visiting our room saw a fresh plate of fruit was delivered along with infinite bottled water. The club lounge happy hour and breakfast offerings were absolutely lovely and perfect for this family of ours to travel stress free and the service was top notch as the representatives in the Club Lounge remembered all of our drink orders for social hour. Overall - my one complaint is the parking garage is a bit daunting and the amount of levels we had to drive past for valet reservation spots was a bit of a bumme, but I understand the space we are in and where we are. The lobby was lovely, I wish we spent more time there, aside from getting the absolute tastiest hot cocoa and enjoying in the Christmas holiday decor, we hunkered down in the Club space, and never left our bubble when we were on property. I also have to commend their gym fitness space, the complimentary water and the machine amenities were great to see and I enjoyed all that I could in the space!

Yelp
Lovely hotel with expensive bath products TO DIE FOR!! They also have room service on real dishes. They have a bar, but I was too tired to sit there. It was also super close to the front door. They also have a coffee machine in the room that I believe would take a PhD in physics to operate. They have a free shuttle van that is ridiculously slow, or busy. We waited 30 minutes for a van after they told us they'd arrive in 10 minutes. Had to make multiple calls. Sucks when you're standing in the middle of the night waiting for a shuttle. We finally called for an Uber. It's a great hotel, played by really shitty shuttle. It cost them a star in my book.

Yelp
We stayed here using our IHG credit card free night which was nice to be able to use on one of IHG's top tier hotel line. The hotel was really clean with a modern interior design. We also took advantage of our IHG status for a free drink at the hotel bar and we were glad we did! It is a solid hotel bar that is well stocked with booze! The only downside is parking for self parking is $29 daily. And the pool was small and cloudy so we didn't take part in the pool. The gym is small but decent.

Yelp
We came here because we had a reservation at a hotel near the cruise ports, but due to the hurricane they were damaged. This hotel was one of the few with availability but was also over an hour away from Galveston and the ports. The room was nice, cost over $30 to park per night. They had a bar and a restruant that would deliver to your room for a price. The pressure in the shower was good and the bath tube was a decent size. It cost almost $400 for the one night we stayed. Since I live over 6 hours from Galveston I had to get this hotel due to the predicament, but it was not worth it for me. The counter workers were nice, but this hotel was almost double the price of my Galveston hotel near the cruise port just to sleep in and I didn't sleep well. I felt warm under during the night.

Yelp
We didn't stay overnight however we came for a wedding celebration. The hotel lobby is very nice, staff were excellent. There is a parking fee/valet for $30/night, which was not too bad. The venue was set up so beautifully. I mean the light fixtures were different, made the room look so elegant. The food they served was excellent: the steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken was not dry. I do love they gave us both protein (though some people may not like that). But, I loved it and it was the perfect amount.

Yelp
This is my new go to hotel in Houston. I have stayed here twice now and the hotel is impeccable. From checkin to check out the service is outstanding. The front desk staff are very courteous and efficient. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The hotel itself is fairly new, and is very clean. The onsite bar and restaurant have some of the best hotel food I have ever had. The bartenders are geniuses when it comes to making drinks. The in room dinning team are amazing. Every aspect of this hotel is virtually perfect. I am looking forward to my next trip to Houston! Highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing! The service from the door to my room, and bar was great. I was here from a conference. The room comes with hand lotion, and nosy was that both smell great! My room was facing the pool so that was a nice view. The bar had live music and specialty cocktails. I particularly enjoyed the cocktail of the day a pineapple margarita with tajin.

Yelp
I'll not stay here again. The hotel was very beautiful downstairs, lobby area. However, the alert at 4 o'clock in the morning to immediately evacuate the building because of fire... Wasn't funny. The intercom did say false alarm, false alarm a bit later after we were up and preparing to evacuate. Then it came again about 6:45...immediately evacuate the building. Do not use the elevators, go down the nearest stairs... That time they did not say false alarm. So I get my husband up who has just been at MD Anderson having a procedure the day before who should not be walking downstairs... And I take him down nine flights of stairs (9th floor)... All to find out that it was just another false alarm. The fact that they did not come back on the intercom and say it was a false alarm is ridiculous. Carpet in our room was wet. Found it overpriced for the quality we received. Nope on this one.

Yelp
The IHG Intercontinental brand has established itself as a luxury-style resort hotel in the midst of the action in many large American cities. I usually stay at one of the two (2!) in Cleveland, but we needed to come to Houston a few times this year and decamped here. Impeccable. If you are driving in, note that there is a weird little off-ramp-like jog off of the main road to get to the valet area curb cut. If you miss it, you'll need to drive around a very busy city block to get back in the game. Did I do this? Yes. My fault. In any case, the valet service is well worth the money. And, you know what, even if you don't need help with your bags, get help with them. Have one of the dutiful staff carry your bags up and tip them well. We got bar and restaurant advice from our guy that served us well the whole time we were in town. The cleanliness of the rooms cannot be overstated. You could eat dinner off the floors. Tip your housekeeping crew, too. They keep this place looking fresh out of the wrapper. We used both in house bars and the restaurants. $15 for a great hotel, sit down, breakfast in the restaurant is a very fair price. The breakfast buffet is pricier, and we did not try it, but it looked great. As with most IHG Intercontinentals, they have an added charge "club room" with breakfast and evening cocktail options. We're trying that on our next stay. The only gripe I have about this place is that I don't live there.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with a courteous staff and good food. The lobby area is grand and beautifully decorated. My stay was very pleasant, room was large, clean and well equipped with coffee and toiletries. Enjoyed snacks and dinner at the restaurant downstairs.

Yelp
I visited the hotel for the first time today to attend a professional symposium and evening banquet. The food servers were excellent, and the food was several steps above standard banquet fare. I have to dock them a couple of stars for the unacceptable conduct of their parking valets. If you self-park, you have to negotiate a very tight parking garage that requires right turns. This is challenging but doable, but for the fact that the valets drive aggressively and prevent other drivers from making safe turns in the opposite direction. When I asked one valet in a full-size SUV to back away from the turn so that I could make the turn in my mid-sized sedan, he refused and proclaimed that I don't know how to drive. Obviously I will not reward such absence of professionalism with a return visit.

Yelp
This InterContinental location is excellent. Quite possibly one of the best InterContinental hotels I have ever stayed in. It is walking distance from Rice University, and a short walk from the Texas Medical Center. The building is quite modern, clean and elegant. The rooms are very spacious, as is the washroom inside. They are also kept QUITE SPOTLESS, and the hotel is secure in that you cannot operate the elevator unless you have your room key on you. Toiletries like shampoo and body wash are provided in the washroom. The staff are very friendly and will always go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay here. The restaurant has excellent food at pretty good prices overall - not as expensive as I thought it would be. Honestly, it was some of the best hotel food I've ever had. Their omelettes and home fries were absolutely delicious and were a great way to start off my day while I was in town for business. You also receive two free waters here if you're an elite member as part of the IHG rewards program (I don't remember if you would still be able to get two free waters regardless). Awesome! I cannot speak on behalf of what parking or valet here is like as I did not have a car when here. This is my go to hotel when in Houston. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but if travels do take me back to the Houston area, I will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I know hotels because I travel a lot. I've seen it all. This hotel deserves 100 stars. Very clean, convenient location, great parking, good service. Honestly the menu at the hotel restaurant is absolutely mind blowing. The rooms are elegant. I loved that it's 5-10 minutes from all the cool stuff to do in Houston.

Yelp
was here for a Viet fashion show gala :) hotel concierge was so welcoming to show us models to makeup room to prepare and rehearse! solid choice entrées, i would recommend the salmon, very tender! (very nice that they served the models first thing) valet was $20 for my whole day, but make sure to get your ticket validated if you go here for events ($10 discount)

Yelp
Let's get into my stay at The InterContinental. The hotel is lively but not in a spring break type of way. This is a busy hotel but mainly with professionals (majority in the medical field.) I mean this hotel is located in the middle of the Medical district in Houston. Hands down this might have been one of the best hotel experiences I have had in a while. If you read my reviews you would know some of my horror stories. LAWDDDD! But this was refreshing. The staff was quick and efficient. Polite and personable. I didn't encounter an employee there that didn't speak. There is literally nothing bad I have to say about this hotel or with my stay. The room was spacious. Literally spotless. The bed was really comfortable. They offered premium cable channels with your stay. Lots of natural light. And unlike most hotels they offer turn down service daily. A lot of hotel stopped the service post COVID so it's nice to welcomed with an old tradition. YES bring back turn down service people!!! On top everything being top tier you are located near tons of amazing restaurants. Just a few suggestions that's in the area and delicious North Italia, Tamashi (FIREEEE) and Potente. The InterContinental also have an onsite restaurant that has a full bar and the drinks are out of this world delicious. Parking is a breeze you can either self-park for a daily rate of $26 or valet (which I believe is 24 hours) for $35. And those valet workers are hustling getting people car to them in a timely manner. 10/10 recommend this location.

Yelp
Whenever I come to Houston I try to stay at the intercontinental simply because it is the best overall hotel in the city. My work takes me to Houston frequently and no other location excels in luxury, location, and outstanding service to the degree that the intercontinental does. On my most recent trip the housekeeping staff had to leave our room half cleaned because, they were called to an emergency. However, we thought that someone had entered our room when we were gone. We called the front desk and not only did they treat the matter seriously but, they vigorously investigated and let us know exactly what happened the following morning. I want to highlight Freddy, the head of security, as he was highly professional and efficient. You're always in good hands when you stay at the intercontinental.

Yelp
On our way back from NOLA, we stopped here and we were assisted from the time we pulled up to the hotel, to the time we left the next morning. The valet was friendly, the bellhop was helpful, and the lady who checked us in was welcoming. The bellhop It was such a beautiful hotel, and got a good night's rest. The room was comfortable, and everything about it made our stay well worth our long drive. We were accommodated with our request for late checkout, even when I accidentally checked us out of the room through the tv.... All my husband had to do was call down to the front desk and she fixed that little hiccup.

Yelp
My husband and I have stayed at this location a few times for his birthday, and we have a good experience each visit. The staff is warm and welcoming, the hotel is spotless, and it's in a prime location. You're minutes away from Rice Village, excellent dining, and any major hospital in the medical center. I wouldn't advise parking a truck in the garage since it's a tight fit, and cars whip around the corners. Same goes for large SUVs. We had drink vouchers per our IHG status, and the service was incredible. I also noticed the food menu has gluten-free options for those with sensitivities. Per usual, we will probably be returning in November!

Yelp
Had never been here before, but we wound up here to watch Super Bowl at the bar last night. And all I can say is WOW!! The hotel is beautiful and insanely clean and staff top notch. At the bar - which was fairly crowded - two fine young ladies - Jackie & Kat - totally owned the joint and made everyone feel right at home. Other servers as well, I just don't know their names. As for food, the crab cakes and pizza we ordered was delish. Pizza pictured here, but probably shoulda snapped before gobbling half of it down! We will be back. Soon!

Morgan C.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here while he had treatment at MD Anderson. Our room would not get warmer than 66 and was initially set to 63. We called to complain and maintenance either could not fix it or housekeeping reset the AC to too cold. We were not offered another room, blankets, or another solution. For a hotel that likely caters to a larger population of cancer patients, they seem ill-prepared. The buffet was not ready by 6:30, when it opens. When my husband talked to management after we left, he was not helpful. We do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Sadly, due to severe allergies and requesting not one room, however, two adjoining rooms, were not followed. We were given rooms right over the unused pool. Exoting the elevator the extremely strong smell of CHLORINE hit our face and immediately had to take four BENDRYL tablets. Calling the front desk and IMMEDIATELY exiting to get another two rooms, we were given the exact same teo rooms just 2 floors above. We checked out immediately the next day checking inyo the Rotary House. This hotel has an enthusiastic team. Nonetheless, the Rooms Supervisor was extremely misleading in our conversation telling me that the hotel was sensitive to my allergies. She was inadequate and sadly misrepresented my true desire to maintain my safety as i requested. The hotel smells. This is sad because I expected more because the Supervisor Angie was committed. Obviously, she needs a reality check because she is misrepresenting herself and what THIS MARRIOTT has to offer.

Yelp
We love the intercontinental hotel in Kansas City on the plaza and always stay there when we are in town. We thought we would try the intercontinental in Houston during my husbands check up at MD Anderson. I have not been impressed so far with this location. It seems like a lot of work to get to the parking garage as the levels are pretty divided with where you can park. Check in was not that great as the Asian lady was not very friendly and could care less about the medical discount to be applied to the rate. If you ask me, she was pretty unfeeling. I was also surprised that there was no hot tub/jacuzzi on the property. Also, very disappointed at the choices, layout and freshness of the food at the club level in the hotel. It did not seem fresh and it seemed like snacks they just got from Costco and threw out there. The cheeses were very soft as if they were laying out for a very long time and the little sandwiches had bread that was stale and hard. The cookies were broken and not that fresh. I'm not sure that it's worth the upgrade. On a positive note the cleaning crew and turned down service is lovely. The hotel lobby is very beautiful and offers a nice bar and lounge area. Overall, we have not been impressed

Yelp
Great place in the heart of the medical center with all of the amenities. We were able to bring our dog and it was our last night in Houston before moving so we really appreciated staying at such a nice place. Everything was clean, well stocked, and just perfect. All three of us slept really well. The front desk personnel were all professional and really nice so it was a wonderful last night in Houston.

Yelp
I've been staying at this hotel while visiting family in Houston and this hotel is very beautiful and nicely decorated everything looks crisp and clean. I'm on the 11th floor and the room view is amazing! They give you the robe, slippers, iron/board, hairdryer Bible and a box of toiletries as well as k cup coffee maker. The only thing missing was a microwave. There are a lot of amenities here there is a gym, bar, restaurant and pool. The hotel is pretty new so the pool isn't much to see as of yet. But it looks like they have a lot of space to start building and adding more parts to it. The breakfast at the restaurant is at an additional fee. The pricing is about the same as any restaurant in the area. The customer service is very satisfactory everyone is super nice and helpful. I love going down to the restaurant to eat in the daytime because the restaurant is surrounded by glass walls so you can see the town moving during the day.

Yelp
This is a great InterContinental location! If you need to visit Houston or the Texas Medical Center, this is an excellent option. The staff is excellent. The service is great. More importantly, it is immaculate and safe because of its attention to detail for COVID. You won't be disappointed. Stay here if you can.

Am M.

Yelp
Conference area is poorly designed. Parking garage is terrible. Unless you drive a smart car or a fiat good luck finding a spot you're comfortable with. Oh, and don't go all the way to the top level... it dead ends with no space to turn around. I won't be returning. I'd rather pay more and fly to a conference than have to come back here for one.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel bcuz it was close to the hospital my brother was admitted to. What a great experience! Super nice hotel, esp. the breakfast served upstairs at the premium lounge. The food was excellent and the room was immaculate. It is now our go to hotel when we visit Houston. Some of the staff seemed less than friendly, particularly a waitress who served us, but nevertheless it didn't affect our enjoyable stay.

David Z.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful, off the beaten path (in the medical center area and Rice University), and had great food options as well. We loved all of it and recommend it highly. HOWEVER - what really stood out was the service, especially by Anthony at the front desk. He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our stay amazing, and he embodies everything we love about Intercontinental Hotels. We (like 65K others) were in town for the Taylor Swift concert recently, and had booked a room far in advance. When we decided we needed a 2nd connecting room and they were sold out. Anthony recommended that we upgrade (for a fee) to a Suite with a rollaway to accommodate everyone. Not only this, but he followed up with us the day of the concert to let us know that there was a very long line at check in the day prior, and we should plan to travel from Austin as soon as we could. On top of all that, bc he knew we were traveling in and on a tight schedule for the concert, he made sure a room was ready, that a rollaway bed was there already, and even pre-checked us in and met us with our keys in the lobby so that my wife and daughters could get to the show on time! While he didn't have to do any of that, I am SO grateful that he did. He turned what could have been a mediocre or stressful day into one that we'll remember forever. Thank you!!

Yelp
I booked through Expedia, selected the option for king sized room high floor parking and WIFI included. I was on the 17th floor. I believe they have 20 or 21 floors. I can't remember. The lobby, the decor, the check-in, the customer service all A-1. What they did well: 1. Check-in and EXCELLENT customer service: I had called the lobby to fix my WIFI issue and was placed on a long hold, hung up after awhile and the desk clerk promptly called me back apologizing for long hold and assisted me with my WIFI issue. I needed some documents printed and I was instructed to email it to the desk clerk I spoke with and he would have it ready at the front desk. Before I came down a few hours later, I had called the front desk to ensure it had been printed and ready for pick up. The desk clerk ensured me it was and even offered to bring it to my room which I declined because I was coming down but the offer was genuine and appreciated. The desk clerk who checked me in was also kind and seemed interested in how I came about selecting the hotel and reason for my stay. 2. The bar looked so inviting and the bartender seemed engaged with the patrons. I didn't get a chance to order from the bar but definitely next time. 3. On the TV, they had it programmed saying "Welcome to Houston Darlene." That was a nice personal touch. My only complaints: 1. Garage parking (starts from 4th floor and up, access by hotel keycard, kind of tight) 2. Sink wasn't clean (there was something stuck on there, which makes me think that area hasn't been cleaned properly for a while and also a face towel in the shower had oil stains on it similar to pizza or tomato-based sauce stain that couldn't be washed out all the way) 3. The room doesn't get cold. When I checked in to my room, the temperature was 69. When I attempted to lower the temperature it was already programmed to 50 so I couldn't lower it anymore but the coldest it got for my entire 24 hour stay was 64 degrees which was OK but never got the chill factor that I was looking for. I wish I had brought my table fan for a bit more circulation. 4. TV is disappointingly SMALL. My eyes centered to focus on the small screen. Very disappointing for this luxe hotel.

Yelp
Our 3n/4d stay was great! We really enjoyed the hospitality, every time we would enter or leave the building we would be greeted with warm "hello's" and "good evening's". Because of our late nights getting back into the room we would leave the DND on the door however, if services were needed the front desk quickly assisted with that. Everything would be refreshed as if it was our first time checking in (now I especially liked that). The fact that you could keep up with your bill on TV was a plus, no gimmicks...no way anyone could say you weren't aware of the fees or taxes. We enjoyed everything about this hotel and plan to frequent when traveling Houston, that's just how much of an amazing time my family and I had there. You can't put a price on comfort and quality.

Yelp
There's definitely a hygiene problem with this hotel. Stayed for five days, and each day I had long black curly hairs on my towels, bedsheets, and pillow covers. The icing on top was bedbug bites I noticed when I got home, all over my legs--absolutely disgusting, and very unprofessional.

Yelp
I feel like a Van Morrison song ....Why why must I always Complain, over and over and over again.... I have been coming to this hotel for three years now with Stage 4 Melanoma cancer because of its proximity to MD Anderson. The front desk staff is a revolving door and each one of them knows nothing about the details of the Hotel or how it operates. If you request a room on the concierge floor with a bathtub, no one tells you there are no bathtubs on that floor until you check into the hotel. What you say and work out with people on the phone is imaginary and not noted on your account. A Manager can not be seen or made available talk to about problems upon check in. The restaurant is slower than Moses and he took forty years. If you frequent this hotel you'll know the restaurant Manager has his wife and children every night in the restaurant playing and running around looking for attention from the patrons. The first time it's cute but every time you eat..... come on. The food is frozen and comes out of a bag at best. Maybe the hamburgers are fresh but how many of those can you eat. Then there's the shuttle. You can't reserve one, the front desk doesn't help you schedule a ride and the third party that runs it can not tell you in advance if they can take you. You fly from another state to see a Doctor at a certain time or to have the dreaded scans and you can't get a shuttle scheduled to take you. In three years of treatment I've used the shuttle twice. Bad odds . The only consistent thing in the Hotel is the friendliness of the Bellmen. They are very pleasant and helpful. Boy I long for the days when people cared about their jobs and staff was attentive and responsive instead of looking and acting like a deer in the headlights. Good luck .

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights for an interview. The hotel lobby is really beautiful, you'll be greeted by someone at the entrance and then more at the front desk. The interior design is sleek, bright, and clean. There's a neat wall of plants "green" at the front desk and check in was easy. My first time staying at an Intercontinental. The double beds were clean, they had a Nespresso machine, free bottled water, bathroom had a clean tub! My only complaint is that I could hear my neighbors next door (walls are thin)- I could audibly hear there were two boys chatting/screaming with their parents also in the room. I also could hear their TV on loudly late throughout the night... I had a very hard time falling asleep and wish I had called the front desk to make a complaint. Otherwise a pleasant stay with a nice view from several stories high of the city.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. The staff was very nice and the rooms clean. The bar/restaurant staff we equally enjoyable. Valet parking: If you need your vehicle early (before 5:00 am), good luck; you may have to contact the staff in ode to find a valet worker. Additionally, expect to receive bad looks if you are perceied to not have tipped enough! The valet team is the only reason that this hotel did not receie a 5-star rating from me. Just avoid alet parking here (unless you're an unusually high tipper). The rest of your stay will be awesome!

Yelp
This is now my go to hotel in Houston. It's a beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms. I sleep well here because there is little light nor noise that invades the room during the night or in the early morning. The restaurant is phenomenal and the bar is great. The bartender even made me a Vieux Carre! The hotel has valet parking but they also have made self parking easy. I ordered room service last visit for breakfast. The food was great and they were lightning fast. Finally, the staff are all friendly but highly professional!

Yelp
Let me start by saying I am in the hotel business. This is a new hotel and very nice. I hope they can keep it looking like this for a long time. The rooms and appointments were very nice. The rooms big, clean and overall very nice. Can't make it Five stars as the check-in was not great. The food was ok but needs a little refinement for the price. The lobby bar was very busy as there were a couple groups in house. The staff overall was very good but the pricing at the bar was not set up correctly as they mischarged Happy Hour pricing. Overall I would certainly stay again.

Yelp
I want to be able to say nice things about intercontinental as I do enjoy their hotels (especially the ones in Asia - would highly recommend staying at the intercontinental in Singapore), but our experience here was just... Not OK. Maybe we got spoiled in Asia? I don't know, but I dont think we had unrealistic expectations when we asked for an extra robe to our room around 11PM. We were expecting it to arrive in, I don't know, 20 mins max? 50 minutes later and still nothing... When we called down to cancel our request since it was almost midnight and we needed to go to bed, we were just told "sure". They didn't ask why, they didn't ask if everything is OK and so on, and there certainly were no apologies. It was just incredibly frustrating. Our room was also not tended to the next day even after we specifically requested a turn down service... Like what? That should be a basic expectation if someone doesn't have their "do not disturb" sign on, and we actually went down and asked for it specifically when we realized our room wasn't cleaned up in the morning. Yet when we arrived at night, only the bed was made - nothing else was looked at, there were no new shower gels/shampoos brought, no new shower cap (and we had used all of those so we had none left). Guess we could have asked for new ones to be brought up but since we had a great experience waiting the night before we decided to forego... At any rate, aside from these issues the hotel is nice. We had a small room despite having a status with the chain, but we didn't think it was a big deal. Normally with just these issues I could've considered giving a regular hotel a better rating, but I do expect intercontinental to be at a certain standard. If you don't care much about the brand and what the brand should be able to provide you with, then this is a good hotel to stay at around the medical center. They do have a complimentary shuttle car that you can use as well (I believe it takes you anywhere within a 2 mile radius though it is first come first serve). Its also relatively close to the rail (only a 10 min walk), which isn't bad at all though it is Houston so 10 minutes of walk is basically equal to Hell due to humidity so still would recommend taking the complimentary shuttle!

Yelp
I would say this is an average hotel and a below average intercontinental. I know Covid-19 is a factor but other hotels have opened their amenities and handled other things much better. Other hotels cheaper or same price that offer better services.

Yelp
Stayed several nights to visit family and enjoyed the stay very much. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Often I would need assistance finding the right place for the right item needed and they were always most helpful. The hotel is clean and modern, the restaurant service and food is very good and the front desk personnel efficient.

Yelp
Horrible service I had to stay here because a relative was in hospital needed to stay close Checked in a 12 a.m. Valet refused to come to my car I had to get out and the kid was wiping off the computer told me to wait. Not to mention the reservation misinformed me saying the had 24 hour room service THEY DO NOT. then the front desk person who was in the back comes out and after hearing my story offers me a 4 dollar sprite. Never stay here. Oh and they took 20 percent off my room that I would not have booked Very disappointed

Yelp
This is a pretty amazing hotel. I am not sure if my love for orchids made me love the lobby so much or if it was the open layout beautiful decor and polite staff. This hotel met all of my expectations. After a long flight from New York I was able to check in early. I was very pleased to have a robe and slippers waiting for me. The room service was amazing. I recommend the mac & cheese on a late night . The only slightly less positive things I can think of is that the pool is very small compared to the size of the hotel and the placement of the car garage is odd (parking garage elevator is on the opposite side of the lobby as the guest elevators). Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Oh my gosshhh! I will never come here to stay even if I was a guest I came to drop a uber eats order to the apartments next to the hotel and was confused a bit on where I was, as I waited for someone to assist me at the front desk I stopped and put hand sanitizer on and whatever the heavyset guys name is that does overnight at the front desk, his first words to me was you smell like alcohol...I look at him with a confused face & I proceeded to tell him maybe it's the hand sanitizer you smell...ignores what I said and says I can get you a water..I said no im fine. And walk away as I seen the apartments were next to me. I find it so rude to accuse someone of drinking/smelling like alcohol when doing deliveries...

Yelp
For anyone who might frequent Houston for work this place was a delight. Brand new hotel, clean rooms and awesome food. The reason for the 4 star is when I sat at the bar and asked for the menu I was only provided the restaurant list. There is a bar menu and it's a lot less expensive. Not ideal but the salmon dish I ordered for $33 was delicious. I know where I'm staying for my next Houston trip.

Yelp
In one word Expensive $250 for room plus $100 for incidentals and $22 to park in garage . I walk with a cane and the first room i had was far away from the elevator. I contacted the desk and they straigtened that out right away. I got a room 30 ft from elevator . I laid down on bed and fell asleep . The bed was very comfortable. woke at 9pm and ordered room service -a wedge salad with grilled chicken breast $28 but this was probably the best wedge salad ive ever had and the grilled chicken breast was done to perfection. not dried out or rubbery it was just great. Salad, bib lettuce , bacon ,onion ,tomato ,roquefort cheese and blue cheese dressing , I came here on business. Have a meeting in the morning but so far i have had a great stay and really feel relaxed. Ill definitely be back next time I come to Houston, Texas.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful the bed was supper comfy. The shower was not the best the water pressure was pretty darn slow. Valet service was nice. What made me not give the hotel 5 stars was the food. Breakfast buffet was not fresh not maintained and there was flies by the salmon and cheese area. It was also a little expensive at $24.50 per person. Will definitely not be coming back for the food.

Yelp
We had a fabulous anniversary stay here! They were so kind, the hotel was immaculate and they even upgraded us for free upon request! We had a BEAUTIFUL suite! The staff was so nice as well, we especially loved the doorman Zakoya. Hope to stay here again someday for a special occasion!
