"Superlatives abound at the InterContinental in downtown L.A. The 73-story structure is the tallest building west of Chicago and, at 889 rooms, the largest InterContinental in the Americas. (It set a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous concrete pour during its foundation construction.) Opened in 2017, the hotel was also downtown’s first LEED Gold Certified building for Building Design and Construction. All that record setting is matched by a big personality and plenty of luxury, too. Inspired by architectural historian Reyner Banham’s book Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies , the hotel features light fixtures based on schematic maps of L.A.’s freeways, hand-painted murals, and billboard-style headboards with city scenes. Club Level suites are stocked with Le Labo Santal 33 amenities, customized with guests’ names. And on the 71st floor, bathrooms are cheekily decorated in Marie Antoinette and cowboy themes. The Versailles-inspired restaurant La Boucherie is an American steakhouse with a French twist. In the restaurant’s VIP Starlight Booths, diners enjoy wine-paired chef’s tasting menus along with jaw-dropping views. Another restaurant, Sora, is the place for intimate Japanese omakase . Be sure to order the 1100 Feet—an original blend of liqueurs reflective of L.A.’s melting pot of cultures—at Spire 73, the Western Hemisphere’s highest open-air bar. Pro tip: Book the Presidential Suite, and you’ll be rewarded with another kind of epic view—an infinity bathtub that fills from the ceiling."

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown

"How did it strike you on arrival? The 889-room hotel is all part of the brand-new, 1,100-foot Wilshire Grand Center, the tallest building in L.A. and tallest west of the Mississippi. Guests will be both delighted and confused upon stepping foot inside the ground-floor arrival lobby. Delighted, because of the large-scale wall installation called “Screen” by Korean artist Do Ho Suh. From far away, it’s a rainbow of bright colors; up close, you see it’s made of tiny figures. And confused, because they won’t see a check-in desk. That’s because the triple-height hotel lobby is on the 70th floor. Like a lot of hotels in Asia, this one is set on the top floors of an office building (fitting since it is owned by Korean Air). Rooms are on the 31st to 68th floors. A high-tech elevator (you press a button panel on the outside and it knows where to take you) whisks you up to the 70th floor, where the first thing you notice is the utterly remarkable view. That three-story chandelier-esque work of yellow, red, and white neon lights you see is based on Los Angeles freeway connections. (One hotel staffer joked that it should all be red.) Also, because the lobby is on the 70th floor, it feels exclusive—chances are good only hotel guests are hanging out up there. What’s the crowd like? The hotel buzzes with business travelers, who congregate in the floor lobby morning, afternoon, and night. Leisure travelers love it for the view and location smack dab in DTLA. The good stuff: Tell us about the rooms. Our room was a king suite on the 62nd floor. It was somewhat odd to go down to your room from the lobby, rather than up, but you get used to it. They’re smartly decorated in greys, beige, and brown, perfectly suited for a business traveler not looking for something trendy, but still stylish and sophisticated. There are outlets—regular and USB—in all the right places (including on top of the desk, not hidden behind it). Above the bed is an overhead shot of L.A., with the words “California Dreaming.” It was spacious, and, of course, had an amazing view. Some rooms come with access to Club InterContinental, the executive lounge, which has a ton of seating and serves up a really impressive (and complimentary) breakfast spread and high-tech coffee maker. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The bed was extremely comfortable, and I liked the simple grey comforter, which wasn't overly bulky. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention? In addition to the usual snacks, the mini-bar has Carry-on Cocktail Kits for your flight home, including ones for a Moscow Mule and an Old Fashioned (aromatic bitters, cane sugar, a spoon/muddler, and a linen coaster—minus the booze). Warning: it’s one of those refrigerators that if you move something you get charged. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathroom was uncluttered and spacious, with a big soaking tub and glass-walled shower, plus backlit mirror. But the nicest touch? Mini bottles of Le Labo Santal 33 shampoo, lotion, etc., with my name printed on them. Suites and club rooms have these amenities; others have Agraria products. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The staff member who manned the elevator was really patient when I couldn't figure out which bank to use (there are three, and they each go to different floors of the building/hotel). Anything stand out about other services and features? The pool is on the 7th floor, and feels somewhat enclosed but still gets good sunlight. It’s surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas that can be rented for the day. There’s a No Dive Bar, with a throwback yet modern aesthetic, and pops of bright blue and orange. Spire 73, on the 73rd floor, is being touted as the tallest open-air bar in America and the Western Hemisphere. The south side is open to the public (from 4 p.m. on), but it can get a bit windy. The north side is for guests only, and has views of the Hollywood sign and Dodger Stadium. Seating includes fake, yet soft grass-covered benches, mod round stools, wooden wingback chairs with blue-and-white striped cushions, and enclosed seating along the glass-walled edge. It was buzzing at night with work colleagues letting loose and couples on dates—great place to impress someone new. La Boucherie is an expense-account French steakhouse on the 71st floor inspired by Marie Antoinette, with blush- and emerald-colored velvet tufted seating at the lavish front bar and pink-tinged glassware, and feels more Vegas than L.A. There’s a cheese room, charcuterie cave, and a wine list of 1,200 bottles. It’s not a quick dine, so be prepared to settle in and enjoy the view through floor-to-ceiling windows. Don’t miss the bouillabaisse as a starter and the grilled California asparagus as a side. The showpiece steaks start from 42-day dry-aged New York strip ($65) and range up to the Tomahawk cut ($155). The menus are heavy and backlit, so it’s like you’re reading off of a very big computer. Slightly awkward! On the 69th floor, Dekkadance is a buffet extravaganza with an international bent. Live cooking and carving stations, a chocolate fountain, pizzas, you name it. Sora is a sushi and omakase joint where dishes pass through a conveyer belt; you can also order from a menu. The fitness center is huge and has more machines than most Equinox gyms—and the cardio machines face the window so your run (or stair climb) comes with a view. Hands down the nicest hotel gym I’ve ever seen. It has a clubby feel, with up-tempo music and light installations that change colors. There’s also a room where they’ll be offering fitness classes. Bottom line: worth it?The view and location make it worth the price." - Brooke Porter Katz

Fitness Classes, Yoga Sessions, and Spa Treatments You Can Stream From Your Favorite Hotels

"When it opened in 2018, the InterContinental DTLA wowed locals and travelers alike with its sheer height (it occupies the tallest building west of Chicago in the continental United States) and luxe amenities—including a state-of-the-art gym with impressive wraparound views of the city. And while you can’t currently use its top-tier facilities, you can take fitness classes led by a few of the hotel’s masterful personal trainers, who have put together a virtual workout series called "Stuck at Home" to keep you fit in the meantime. Most of the workouts, which are available to stream on the hotel’s website and on YouTube, take around 30 minutes to complete, involve little to no equipment, and are designed to target specific parts of your body, like your core, lower body, and arms. (Don’t be fooled by the at-home, makeshift nature of these workouts—they will kick your butt). If you're after something a little more low-key, there's also a mellow stretch class designed to melt away stress and anxiety."

My best friend and I had the most incredible evening at Spire 73, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing server, Gabriela. From the moment we were seated, Gabriela made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness elevated our entire rooftop experience.||She not only made fantastic recommendations but also went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed—always with a smile. Her positive energy and kind spirit truly made our night special, and it’s rare to come across service that feels so personal and sincere.||Between the stunning views, delicious cocktails, and Gabriela’s top-notch hospitality, this night will definitely be one to remember. Thank you, Gabriela, for making our evening at the InterContinental unforgettable. You are a true gem!

Oh, let me spill the tea on the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown—a place that promises the stars and delivers a view so magnificent, it’ll make your heart do a little tap dance! Perched atop the tallest building in LA, this hotel’s vistas are pure magic, a dazzling panorama that had me gasping, “Is this allowed to be this gorgeous?” The city sparkles below like a love letter to glamour, and I couldn’t stop swooning over the skyline. Did I mention the view? Because, my goodness, it’s a showstopper!||Now, getting there was a bit of a comedic misadventure—finding the parking lot felt like auditioning for a treasure hunt with no map. (Our bad, probably, but a few more signs wouldn’t hurt!) Once we arrived, though, the location’s charm was undeniable, nestled in the pulsing heart of downtown LA.||But here’s where the sparkle dims. For all its lofty promises, the Intercontinental doesn’t quite live up to its glitzy address. The rooms? They’re fine, but they lack the modern pizzazz you’d expect from a place this flashy—more “meh” than “marvelous.” Compared to the Intercontinental in Shanghai, which serves luxury like it’s an art form, the LA outpost feels like it’s phoning it in. The service is perfectly pleasant but hardly the red-carpet treatment you’d hope for at these prices. It’s like ordering a gourmet dessert and getting a store-bought cupcake—decent, but not dazzling.||Final Take: The view is a swoon-worthy masterpiece, but the rest? It doesn’t quite match the price tag or the Intercontinental name. Come for the breathtaking scenery, but don’t expect the full luxury package to sweep you off your feet.

Recently stayed a week here and loved it. Floor to ceiling windows with amazing views day and night. The main lobby bar is pretty loud and often packed. If that's not your thing I would recommend the club continental lounge. Ariel and Kelly in the club lounge were extremely helpful and polite. Good staff like them really make a difference in the whole experience. Lounge is more relaxed, quieter, better service. Food there is top notch too, drink selection a bit limited. Fair number of kids and families.

I was incredibly impressed with the service I received from all staff members. From valet to housekeeping staff . All staff was very attentive , rooms were clean and tidy. I do want to mention Marvin in concierge . He was very helpful and assisting me with getting a room that does not take me straight to the 70th floor because I am terrified of elevators. Also Angie in housekeeping was very kind and attentive. She exceeded every expectation, my room was immaculate and she was very helpful. I did spend time in the pool area and Jason and Terrence were always checking on me , asking if I needed anything , if I needed the umbrella moved to a different area or if I wanted another drink , if I wanted food, I was very impressed by the service. Definitely going to come back to the Intercontinental Los Angeles

Fabulous hotel. Amazing gym , one if the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel which made me go everyday of our stay . Fantastic pool|Area - only downside we had gone out to get a coffee and weren’t allowed to drink this by the pool|Which was a shame as we had seen people doing it several days before . Rooms were a great size and a real treat to have Full bath aswell as fabulous shower . Amazing beds . Felt a little unsafe at night lots of homeless people just outside the door but restaurants close by were good

Emilio was very helpful and professional. I appreciated his respectful attitude and quick response when I needed directions. It made me feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay. For the whole experience,I’m really disappointed with the hotel’s current breakfast system. Each guest is limited to a $38 breakfast credit, which barely covers anything on the menu, you can only.order one meal. Even asking for an extra juice puts you over the limit. It’s frustrating and makes the whole experience feel restricted. To make things worse, everything must be ordered and then you have to wait 15–20 minutes or longer. If you go down at 9:50 AM, there’s no seating available — they just tell you there’s a 50-minute wait, even though breakfast ends at 10:30. It simply doesn’t make sense. And after ordering, you still have to pay all your orders taxes and tips, often adding up to $30+ every morning. I honestly don’t understand why they changed it from a buffet — the previous breakfast was much more efficient and guest-friendly.

this is by far my most favorite hotel in the entire world. Me and my best friend stayed here last year and the staff were so nice. honestly this place feels magical. Like you’re living a dream. We recently had the pleasure of coming back for a night since we were in town and again the staff were so kind and accommodating really making our stay here just as great as the last time. This will always be my go to hotel every time i’m in LA. But i cannot express how incredible of an experience it is to stay here. Also Maria S was such a sweetheart and the kind of person that makes this hotel as great as i’m hyping it up to be!

The Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel completely exceeded our expectations! We came to LA to visit with our grown children for Mother's Day. This was the first time that we stayed at this IHG location and could not believe how luxurious the hotel was. The service was exceptional, and the location was also excellent. From the time that we entered the hotel, we were greeted by professional staff who ensured us that we received excellent care during our stay. The check in was speedy and we were automatically upgraded to a beautiful room with an amazing view. Though out our stay we were treated as though we were VIPs! The entire staff was extremely attentive, responsive, and provided superior customer service. We were treated as though we were one of their family. All in all, we can't say enough about this hotel, every inch is magnificent and luxurious! We especially loved the room along with the unbelievable views, the rooftop pool, restaurants, club lounge, and gym! The rooftop pool is spectacular with unbelievable views along with an excellent restaurant (with plenty of healthy choices and superior quality food)! The service was just excellent! Julia G. ensured that we had excellent care! The club lounge was a special treat with amazing views and superior high-quality food and wine (we also received exceptional care from Maria Sokhikyan). Regarding the gym, this is not your typical hotel gym; in fact, it was the very best gym that we have ever been to with tons of equipment and lots of free weights and dumbells (also go up to a 100lbs). My family and I could certainly go on and on about this exceptional experience! The hotel deserves the very best rating, and we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I stayed here with my girl friends for a quick weekend trip and my expectations were exceeded. The room came with 2 robes and 2 slippers. Since there were 4 of us, we asked if they could bring us 2 extra and before we knew it, they were at our door with the extras. The entire room was very clean and I loved the soaps they provided. The smell wasn't too fragrant but more of a subtle and light scent which I loved! There was a bathtub and a standing shower available. There was just one thing that was a bit inconvenient and that was their elevator system. The lobby is on the 70th floor and depending on what floor your room is on, there are specific elevators you can take. It was a bit confusing at first but I got the hang of it. Thank you InterContinental for such a great first time experience! I'll be back :)

Yelp
I'm back today. I found a parking on the street. I walked thru the doors and was greeted with questions and I didn't answer them. I just kept walking. Going to the 70th floor but first stopped at the gym. This hotel is really boujie and needs to work on their employee customer service and lack of hospitality! I don't want to be questioned when walking in! Also, some of the employees were tactless when I once was here with my sister for her work conference and when I did go to complain they don't offer anything to take responsibility of their bad behavior on site. Otherwise: I love the views of the city but I don't like the annoying angel of asking guests for their personal information esp when the rooms cost so much! Let people be! Otherwise it's a beautiful property and the rooms are very big and spacious! They need to improve in many ways! Staff staring at every corner of their eye, on every level exp the pool and gym level which is the least stressful! They need higher quality hospitality! Be more inviting!

Yelp
Hi there, this is December 2024 & While we are enjoying our stay at this intercontinental downtown LA, I am writing this because I would love to let everyone know my special appreciation to club lounge stuff, Michelle, Maylene, Fabiola. One day, I lost my purse and as you see, it's not only money but also important personal stuff in there, our LA vacation suddenly became dark devastation. However these 3 personnel in lounge, Michelle, Maylene, Fabiola, found my purse & contacted me immediately. My life suddenly became full of warmth and happiness and thankfulness. They were really life savers to us. I could not find enough words to show how grateful I am. Other than that, every time we stay here, we are greeted by the club staff warmly. We really appreciate high standards hospitality of intercontinental quality, in lots of aspects. Best regards & happy holidays to everyone who read this

Yelp
The IC is a great destination if you can't avoid LA. I stayed at the IC for a business meeting, and loved it. The staff is super helpful, and they are everywhere--from the valet to the restaurant to the check-in staff. Rooms are clean. And the shower...so good I almost needed late check-out.

Yelp
Last week we had a two night stay the InterContinental Los Angeles Hotel. It's the tallest Hotel in Los Angeles and the Lobby is in the 70th floor. The building is steel and glass with floor to ceiling windows so there a panoramic view of the entire LA basin. I was surprised at how busy it was, the bars and restaurants were packed even for breakfast. For a luxury hotel the service was good not great. I think the stunning views make up for some of the minor inconveniences. Notes: Breakfast buffet $50 but the view is worth it. Valet parking only $68 per day Room service a hefty service charge and tip added. Three different elevators (1) parking (2) main lobby (3) rooms The hotel is owned by Korean Airlines. Lots of flight crews checking in and out. Located between 7th street and Wilshire Blvd with a 900 Wilshire address but the main entrance and Valet enters on 7th Street.

Yelp
I attended a conference at the InterContinental. The view from the top floor is stunning, and the hotel's striking, sculpture-like exterior really gives off a sense of grandeur. However, as others have mentioned, the interior feels somewhat sparse and not as modern as other five-star hotels I've experienced. The hotel is nice overall, but the inside could use some updating to match the contemporary luxury you'd expect from a high-end property. Offers easy access valet parking. From what I've been hearing and seeing, customer service here is hit or miss, which is bizarre for a hotel of this caliber.

Yelp
I would totally give this place 5 stars if only I didn't have to go thru their 70th floor lobby every time to get back to my room. OK, yes, I get that the 70th floor is pretty AF, no judgment there. The views are gorgeous. But, I was staying here for close to a week and every time I came back, I'd have to take the elevator to the 70th floor, switch banks and then ride down to my room on the 35th floor. It was also a pain when I tried to get to their gym on the 7th floor and had to take elevator from 35th floor to 70th floor and then back down to 7th floor. This whole routine was really exhausting. Rooms were very nice, with a nice bathtub (almost could swim in it) and with shower too. Mini fridge was available and I had one soda and it was like $8. Centrally located hotel so great place to stay in DTLA. Area was safe for me. Shopping center across the street with Target, Zara, H&M and food court. Gym was nice too and enjoyed using their facility. The morning breakfast buffet was quite good even with Asian options like congee and steamed dim sum items. But, its gonna cost, $50/person. The rooftop bar was also nice and the views were great but the glass could use a better cleaning especially with such beautiful views. Overall, I loved this hotel but that 70th floor lobby was such a drag...

Yelp
Beautiful expansive views from the hotel lobby in the tallest building in Los Angeles. It is decorated so nice for Christmas. From my corner suite you can see the Hollywood sign, century city and many beautiful rooftops of adjacent hotels and condos.. Service with Samy in the lobby was impeccable, she took the extra time to explain all amenities and how to get around easily. The Club Lounge is fully stocked with drinks and snacks and friendly attendants and more expansive views of the city. The valet staff are polite and prompt. Everything we enjoy about good service can be found at this hotel that is conveniently located nearby so many entertainment venues in L.A. including Crypto stadium, convention center, BMO stadium, USC stadium, any kind of restaurant you could want. So much to do in DTLA.

Yelp
I stayed four nights at the InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles. Wow, what a hotel! This was one of the tallest buildings downtown, with spectacular views! The front desk was located on the 70th floor. I appreciated the hotel had a table on the first floor for those checking into the conference. To get to your room, you must first go to the 70th floor, then find your appropriate elevator to your floor. There were a total of three sets of elevators. A little confusing at first, but you will get the hang of it. There was also a bar on the 70th floor with tons of lounge and table areas. This was a perfect spot to watch the sunset. The room was nice with an awesome view. I loved the bathroom and hotel slippers in the closet. My only complaint was the refrigerator, which was mostly stocked with items to purchase such as liquor, soda, water and a few treats. And the prices were super inflated. So I went to Target and purchased water, Pepsi and a four pack of mixed drinks. I found it hard to find room in the refrigerator for my items. On checkout day, I called the front desk to ensure I wasn't charged for any items that may have been moved in the fridge. I'm thankful I called as the treats had been moved on the top shelf. The items were removed from my bill. I checked out the rooftop bar and restaurant. They had small fire pits at every table and lounge area. This spot was nice! There were two separate sections upstairs. The other side was being used for a special event. I also checked out the pool and saw a hot tub too. There's a small cafe on the first floor. The morning of checkout, I grabbed a chocolate croissant and ham and cheese croissant to go. Both were tasty! This was by far the nicest hotel I've stayed in. My hotel standards have gone up a few notches lol! The staff were friendly and offered a helping hand to anyone who looked lost or confused. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in the city. With lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Yelp
Want to stay at a clean place? Want upscale designs and decor? Want to stay somewhere with a grand view? Want late night bar drinks? Want fancy clean rooms? Want a place with a lots of tech? This is a must try! Place is very amazing and staff everywhere you go. Lobby is on the 70th floor! Wild

Yelp
This hotel was in the perfect area to walk and site see and to get an Uber to get around. The view from the hotel was awesome and the breakfast buffet was the best buffet I've ever tasted. The wide variety of food and the staff were great.

Yelp
Stayed here for our wedding night and wanted to give a huge shout out to Michael the valet manager. Thanks for helping make our wedding even more special by helping us get our '41 Plymouth parked in a safe spot. We wouldn't have been able to drive away from the wedding without you.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles for 12 nights while on a business trip, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's modern luxury design, cleanliness, and above all, the hotel's welcoming staff. The cleanliness stood out right away. Every area, from the lobby to the guest rooms, was spotless and clearly well-cared-for, which made the whole place feel welcoming. The staff really made my stay extra special. The customer service is second to none. Hugo Moureau, the Front Desk Manager, provided a warm and genuine welcome and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. He went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my and my co-workers' stay was flawless. Hugo is definitely an asset to their team. Ariel at the Club Lounge, Xochitl at the lobby bar and the Valet team also went out of their way to provide excellent service. Security was another highlight. Key card access to the elevators and the attentive staff made me feel completely safe, which is a big plus in a busy downtown area. The InterContinental DTLA is an ideal choice for those looking for a safe, comfortable stay paired with exceptional hospitality in the heart of the city. 5 stars without hesitation! (And I didn't even mention the views)!!

Yelp
I've stayed a plenty of nice hotels in LA but this was by far the best experience I've ever had! Took my son for his 7th birthday and right away the valet greeted us and welcomed us, whereas other valet places had ignored us or skipped us entirely. When we checked in we were greeted by a nice gentleman can't remember his name I believe it was Luis. The views were amazing, staff was amazing and valet was on point! Most definitely the only place I will be staying at in the future! Also the room was beautiful and clean!

Yelp
First off the views are incredible. The lobby is ridiculous. So cool. The elevator situation is terrible and weird. Its hard to even explain. The rooms are nice as well. Loved my suite. I had a view of Hollywood sign which was awesome. The staff were friendly as well. Downtown LA is not an ideal location but the hotel more than made up for it. Would come back.

Yelp
As an IGH member I considered booking this hotel for my stay in LA. It is certainly in a great location downtown close to restaurants and shopping and it also houses the Spire on the 73rd floor rooftop. While I ultimately went with another IGH property I still visited InterContinental to go to the Spire. One set of elevators takes you to the lobby which is on an elevated floor, I forget the number but you have to take a separate elevator to get to the rooftop. Stopping in the lobby was an event in itself. Besides the check in desk there are multiple seating areas so beautiful, so comfy and so elegant as well as a fabulous looking bar. And the views were absolutely breathtaking without a doubt. We stopped and talked to a guy working there who directed us to the Spire elevator but gaining entry was not to be. The man guarding the elevator said 1. Access was only for guest of the hotel and 2. If you were not a guest there was a 60.00 minimum per person to get in. Seemed convoluted and unnecessary since we were already seeing a great view from the lobby so we declined and hung out there while we plotted our next move. As we were leaving, the same young man we spoke with earlier asked us why we had not gone to the rooftop. We explained what we were told and he had an issue with that. I think he thought we were being discriminated against and asked us to wait while he discussed the matter with the man at the elevator but we left. It was my birthday and I did not want any hassles but it was nice to visit the tallest building in LA.

Yelp
The elevators... To check in, you have to go up to the 70th for the hotel lobby. It's gorgeous up there. The view is incredible. I took a star off for two reasons: my shower spray was basically "peeing." There was very little pressure. And the elevators. They were a HUGE hassle. In order to get to your room, you have to go UP to the 70th floor, then go through the lobby to another bank of elevators, punch in your floor, then scan your card (making sure when the designated elevator opens is going to YOUR floor) as there are no floor buttons in the elevators! There are 3 main banks of elevators... one serves for 1, 5, 7, and 69 restaurant), 70 (lobby), and 71, which is another restaurant/bar. The next serves floors 31-52, and the last one serves 53-70. It's a pain... everyone has to scan their card to get to their floor. The first morning of the conference, after going up from my floor to the 70th lobby, it was LA traffic at the first bank of elevators. They had to have one of the workers there to scan his card to "herd" us down to the conference floors. The elevators abs their setup... those get a 2 star for the sheer inconvenience. The conference space itself is laid out spaciously. There are plenty of rooms and sizes for the various breakout sessions. And the conference food... that was a solid 5 stars. We had hot breakfast, buffet lunch, an Asian dinner, and cocktail party over the course of three days. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel and conference center.

Yelp
We were here for a conference. The hotel is a beautiful but it doesn't have vending machines or a store. Luckily there is a little shopping area next to the hotel. The hotel charges $11 for a bottle of water. What is cumbersome is to have to go to the 70th floor then go to another elevator to go down to the room or gym. Another thing that baffles me is that the pool closes at 6 pm. We were not able to go to the pool because it closed so early. I don't think the price we are charged is worth the stay. The staff is very nice and attentive but the hotel is not what I thought it would be.

Yelp
I love staying at the InterContinental on Wilshire. The rooms are clean and well furnished. I stay here when the BET Festival is happening or when going to the Hollywood Bowl or Dodgers Stadium. The VIP benefits are stellar early check in, late check out, free breakfast which is good and worth going to, room upgrade and welcome gift. You can walk to Crypto Arena formally Staples Center. Nice pool with fantastic cocktails. Basketball teams from out of town stay here. Employees are welcoming and efficient.

Yelp
The reservation included 2 free breakfasts that were denied stating I used Priceline to make the reservation, no where is Priceline mentioned in the reservation or payment receipt. The food we ordered included a gratuity fee, above the signature line is listed a tip amount! The customer is to pay a tip twice? I was surprised to learn it cost $68 to park my car in the large underground parking. Only the valet has access to my car. The elevator system is confusing: our room was on the 50th floor...we had to take an elevator to the 70th floor, then another set of elevators to arrive at the 50th floor! Reservations are on the 70th floor! I will not return nor recommend this high priced hotel!

Yelp
Nice hotel. Huge. Modern. Smack dab in the middle of DTLA. Pros ... rooms with a view. Lobby with a view. Restaurant selection. Cons ... the elevator situation. IYKYK.

Yelp
Came out to LA for a concert and decided to stay at the Intercontinental because I watched this thing under construction years back and it was time to experience the tallest building west of the Mississippi! We took the elevator up to the main lobby (70th floor) so we could check-in and our jaws dropped when we saw the view of LA. Breathtaking. THE ROOM. We stayed in a 1 King Classic on the 61st floor, room 6110. The room is roughly 415 sf. with a comfortable bed and a few seating areas for working or relaxing. Above the bed was an aerial photo of a suburb; lines of track homes that are quintessential SoCal. The bathroom contained a stand up shower and soaking tub. Everything was clean and looked very sleek. I think I spent most of my time sitting in front of our window and staring out at the unbelievable view of the city! THE FOOD ELABORATION. We tried out a few places to eat within the hotel and I did separate reviews on them through Yelp, but here's the gist... - Lobby Lounge | Los Angelenos cocktail was strong with some sweetness for contrast. Brussels sprouts were beautifully charred and aioli sauce was great. Burger and fries were both quite salty and difficult to enjoy. - Dekkadance | We did the California Fresh Breakfast Buffet which had a huge selection of dishes to choose from. I especially liked the made to order omelette station, fresh fruits, different proteins (meats), and juice bar. It's only $30 per person and we loaded up like champs. THE VIBE EVOCATION. Simplistic interior design with but does it have to be so complicated when there's a magnificent 360-degree view of the city in front of you? I think not. With the hotel spanning from the 31st to 73rd floor, it feels like one is escaping to a modern oasis perched high above the concrete jungle below. The vibe is airy and rejuvenating, but plot twist - there's a slight unnerving feeling of anxiety once you realize how high up you are from the ground. But you know, that's just me. Side notes: - The gym (Attitude Fitness) is pretty damn big and open 24 hrs. They offer gym memberships too! - The pool is on the 7th floor and open 8AM - 6 PM. THE PARKING AFFAIR. Valet parking only. Parking overnight is $51 as of June 2023. I know, wtf. There are in and out privileges though, so I guess it doesn't feel like we're being completely ripped off. THE RETURN QUANDARY. I truly had a great experience at this hotel and would love to return to check out Spire 73 (rooftop lounge & bar).

Yelp
Probably the least professional hotel service I've ever experienced at any price point. Let's start with the worst. Checkout time is 11am, but someone literally bang on the door at 10:58 and asked me to checkout. I've never experienced this kind of nonsense at any hotel. Other issues: 1) No late checkout for member with status because "the management don't allow it". 2) No free water in room. The hotel branded water is $7/bottle. While they did offer a $20 voucher for lobby bar, the bar is super understaffed. I've waited 20 mins and called 3 guys until someone would take my order. Then they add 20% "auto gratitude fee", so one beer plus one bottle of water would cost you $30+. 3) The two bath towels in the room looks like they're from different decades. Also dirty slippers. 4) $39 facility fee even for rewards night. Which is never mentioned during checkout and I only found out after I explicitly asked to print out the bill. That's right, they didn't even ask whether I want the bill emailed or printedx neither did they proactively told me how much is charged, just took the room key and said I'm good to go.

Yelp
Short Review: Bougie for sure. Long Review: I live just miles from this hotel and so never have had an occasion to experience it like a tourist until friends came to town. Stayed here. Ate here. Experienced rooftop bar, pool bar/restaurant, room service and lobby bar. Room is exceptional. Bar none - the view alone is worth $1million. Luckily you will only pay between $500-$1,500 a night here. The rooftop bar I'm told is the highest up in the western hemisphere. F'ing amazing. Best experience yet. Good food too, they don't skimp. If you can swing it, stay here. No regrets, except they don't have a gift shop so bring all your toiletries and sundries required. This is definitely an urban upscale hotel.

Yelp
Amazing views! Excellent service from valet to check-in (70th floor) to the club lounge and everyone in between. Rooms were modern and comfy, and the gym was top-notch. Will be back soon!

Yelp
Came here for a conference and it was a good stay. Room was nice and clean. Housekeeping was efficient and respectful. Location was great as I walked to shopping, convention center, restaurants, and public transportation. The whole changing elevators thing took some getting used to but I got it. Really like the button to turn all lights on and off. Felt secure and safe. I'd stay again on someone else's bill LOL

Yelp
As a 4-star hotel, InterContinental LA is providing a luxury guest environment. It's upscale, quality, and comfort. ROOMS Rooms have premium furnishings, bath essentials, and views of DTLA. There are four sets of elevators, one for parking access, one to the lobby and restaurants, and the other two for rooms. I liked the plush bed, down pillows, coffee, and tea kits. PARKING Valet parking is about $60/day. GYM&POOL The gym has a unique red interior theme and a wide range of equipment, with a different access point for the rooftop pool. FOOD&DRINK There are six restaurants and bars within the Wilshire-Grand building. I've been to the buffet, which is a bit pricy, but it was worth going once to dine with views of LA. The lobby bar and rooftop bar are worth a visit for the views. COSTS There are a number of amenity fees and taxes added to the cost of staying here.

Yelp
BRUNCH ISN'T IT My family is in town and had brunch there today. They made them wait downstairs for 45 minutes, and told them to go upstairs where there was a long line. When they got to the front of the line (another 30 minutes) the lady asked for their reservation. After my dad tried to tell the story of how long they've waited, the hostess freaked out and wanted to call security??? My family enjoys going out to try new places but won't be back here. Unbelievable.

Yelp
Let me be CRYSTAL CLEAR! There is no better chain hotel at least in CA than this! 81 floors of amazing high tech, attainable luxury. I come here as often as I can to staycation. That said, as a female real estate developer and commmercial realtor, there's only two things I'd recommend changing: (1) in-room TV....for as much tech as this hotel THRIVES off of...it's shocking to me that the TVs aren't smart and no steaming is offered. Maybe I'm missing something??? Also (2), the elevators are amazing! It's like you're at a rave...check in 70th floor, and then transfer from there up or down to your hotel room or amenities. Give yourself ample time (at least 10 minutes so you're not running from elevator to elevator) between services; and be sure to get a room with a tub if you're into it! Tub's so deep it might take a full night to fill it but I AM NOT complaining! I was able to tour the building while it was still under construction and being able to have seen the guts and the finished product, I just find every aspect of this hotel to be AMAZING! I wish I could think of a better word...but hopefully my pictures make up for it. Enjoy! and don't forget to join the rewards program to rack up points and little perqs when you visit!

Yelp
Do Not Order Food from the room!! It's always slow, but this time, it took 1 hour and 25 minutes!! Room Service: 1 (Horrible! They don't pick up the phone because they know I am calling to complain "why my food isn't here." FOOD: 2 (Do not order "spicy beef soup" and the rice stuck together. It's feels like I am eating rice cake. They poured too much water when cooking rice. Food cold.) ROOM: 4

Yelp
$244 for one night in a regular room. $150 deposit per night even though they already have your card on file. Parking is $70 bucks extra per day with no in and out. Meals are sky high. No free anything. 18 percent mandatory tip on everything. All this to stay in the a$$hole of LA, downtown. Never again.

Yelp
We came for Thanksgiving dinner with my family and had our car valet parked. The attendant told us our car would be on the lower level when we were ready to retrieve it. We found out after dinner that there are two different valet companies- intercontinental and a third party company called AAA parking. Nobody informed us that the fee was notably higher with the AAA company and they obtained our business deceitfully. When we arrived downstairs to collect our car, we were only greeted with a finger signaling that we were not to interrupt the conversation being had between the employees. Andres, who seemed to be the manager, was the one who demonstrated this exceptionally poor customer service. Still never greeting us, the employees finished gossiping and one of the rude women curtly requested our ticket. When we tried to pay they acted super shady with our credit card, manually inputting the card info rather than running it, and then asking for our pin. It all seemed very odd, and we couldn't shake the feeling even after paying and starting our trip home. We were so uncomfortable with the whole interaction that we canceled the card. Regardless of whether they were actually doing something shady or not, the fact that we felt that way is a huge problem. AAA parking employees were extremely unprofessional and to be honest, incredibly creepy!! DO NOT park your car here.

Yelp
3.5/4.0 stars Friendly staff, clean rooms, fantastic view. Elevator situation can get annoying but it is what it is. Lobby is on 70th floor. Drink prices at lobby bar are $20-30. The gym is 5 stars. It's basically a full gym that people get memberships to, but connected to hotel. Room sizes are decent, but nothing extravagant.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel with amazing views. I stayed here for a conference for three nights and it was an overall pleasant stay. Pros: Very spacious room and very nice bathroom. Clean, quiet, and well-kept. The mood lighting was an awesome plus! There is also valet parking available, for a nightly fee. Amenities include a fridge, smart TV, coffee maker, a table, and many outlets for charging. The lobby is the same level as the bar and makes for a beautiful place to get work done. Cons: Going to the lobby on the 73rd (?) floor to access a separate elevator for my floor every time I needed to go to my room was quite inconvenient sometimes. And having to enter my room number with my key to even get into the elevator was new to me - I can see why this would be beneficial to VIP guests though. Unfamiliar and tedious for the average person ‍ One weird thing was that I did not receive a receipt/invoice after checking out despite asking for one at checkout. I had to call several times over the span of two weeks to get someone to help me and actually see an invoice come through to my email. Next time I would ask for a printed invoice at checkout.

Yelp
Compared to the InterCon in San Diego, this is totally sub-par... I am an InterCon Ambassador member, which should have guaranteed "one category upgrade." Was not given any due to, apparently, no availability. In exchange, was given only 10K IHG points. Was supposed to also have access to the Lounge, but, unlike the San Diego, they take the food away quite early. So much for that! More so? The selection is, unfortunately, at the level of motel-tier places. I guess the redeeming quality that it does not get a single star are the excellent views. Oh well...!!!

Yelp
I stayed a full week in this Hotel and I couldn't be more happy with the decision. All of the staff are extremely helpful with every question and they are located all over to help right away. The amenities in the Hotel are plenty and wonderful, spent one entire day in the pool (great space/view, jacuzzi, adjacent Bar and clean bathrooms). We also had room service 3 times and the food quality was really great, highly recommend their Pizzas. The Bar Lobby has a great selection of drinks and plenty of staff all over, plus the view from the 70th floor is breathtaking. I also used the Gym a lot and their machines are extremely varied and up to date. The bathrooms are super clean and they even have a Sauna. Finally, we celebrate our Anniversary and the Hotel was kind enough to send us a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate. Overall I highly recommend this Hotel.

Yelp
Royalty treatment all the way! This place makes you feel right at home. We came to LA for a very touristy visit. We are from San Diego so we come to LA pretty often. Often times with a plan to go to specific places but this time we came as TOURISTS! The hotel has valet included in the service inside their garage, unlike some hotels who charge to park in their garage. We were up in the 64th floor, and needed 2 elevators to get there. One to the lobby where there is a collection of elevators to take you to the different floors. Here there is a cafe and beautiful seating areas. The lobby staff is super kind and friendly. Even after arriving late for check in they were bright and smiley! Our room was very large, a corner room so we gad views galore! I almost didn't want to close the curtains but also didn't want to be woken up early with the rising sun. Conveniently located in down town LA with plenty of eateries just a few steps away. The valet was always very timely with getting your vehicle. I would call and by the time we made our trek down the elevators our car was ready and waiting for us. We had a jammed packed busy schedule so unfortunately the kiddos didn't get to enjoy the pool because they close it pretty early. It would be nice if it had longer hours. We totally felt at home here, from the service to the comfort of our room. Unless someone comes up with something better this will be our go-to hotel to stay in every time we come to LA

Yelp
This is hands down one of the most impressive hotels I've ever stayed in. The Intercontinental brand of hotels are magnificent. The lobby being on the 70th floor is just the opener. The views from the rooms are jaw dropping and I can't wait to go back and share them with someone else. The only downside was the surprise hotel fee and the cost of parking, but I took it in stride because this hotel and the area it was located in was deserving of a certain clientele.

Yelp
The valet parking crashed my car, and all the parking lot staff did was fill out a report form and tell me to wait for an email. The form states they'll only cover the repair costs, with a mere $30 allowance for alternative transportation. When I went to the hotel front desk, they immediately tried to distance themselves, saying it's a third-party parking company and has nothing to do with the hotel. After much insistence, they called the manager to talk to us. I thought this might be a turning point, and at the very least, the hotel would offer some compensation. But when the manager arrived, all they did was repeat over and over again that this is a third-party issue and has no connection to the hotel. I asked, "Are you seriously saying that staying at your hotel and experiencing this terrible situation has nothing to do with you?" All they could say was, "We're very sorry, but we can't provide you with any compensation. This is a third-party issue." One simple question: if I hadn't chosen your hotel, would I have had to deal with this today? I picked your brand, not this parking service.

Yelp
Went again. Best hotel ever, hands down. I'd like to see Hilton do it like they do here. Food and service? amazing. Workers? Amazing. Great view!

Yelp
Loved our night stay here. It was a bit rainy and cloudy but the pool and spa remained open. Loved the lobby bar which was the only bar open due to rain but our experience and their options are nice :) You may borrow umbrellas at the lobby desk and they have excellent service.

Yelp
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Upgrading to a suite was the best choice. The panoramic view of the city and freeway was impressive. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly. I look forward to booking another stay here during my next L.A trip

Yelp
The staff members here are so nice . We personally love the views here & how clean the Establishment is . Any questions you have , they have employees there to help you all the way through with all your questions ! If you want to be in a place that has Beautiful views definitely come here !

Yelp
Love this place! It was a convenient location. Stayed here for a wedding nearby and I'd have to say it did not disappoint mini the homelessness in the area. Front desk folks were incredibly kind and very friendly. They gave me late check out at 2pm for being a member. The views is what makes this place a hot spot because you can see all of Los Angeles and very cool if you get to experience the helicopter descend

Yelp
Upon arrival, by the outside door there were used glasses. The restroom had a disgusting smell. I attempted to use the shower, immediately notice pubic hair on the wall and on the soap dispenser. We didn't get to say anything. We had dinner reservations and had no energy to be complaining. I wish we did because it's expensive. You're paying for "luxury" but it was NOT!

Yelp
I love the Interacontinrntal hotels. The DTLA hotel is no exception. This huge hotel boasts beautiful views of downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding areas of the city. The lobby is situated on the 70th floor. Once checked in, you need to find the correct elevators to your floor. The elevators are controlled by an outside panel as there are no floor buttons inside the carriages. I was fortunate to book a high floor room that gave me a gorgeous view of the city. I was able to see all the Hollywood sign, west LA and towards the ocean. The view is amazing in the day and spectacular at night. LA always looks better at night. I had a standard room with a large king bed, shower and tub and a cozy desk. The staff here was exceptional. They were courteous and friendly. If you come to LA, it is a must to stay here.

Yelp
I loveeee this hotel except for the expensive valet parking. But other than that, i highly recommend staying here. I also made a full hotel tour video on my youtube channel. Here's the link please show some love. Thank you! https://youtu.be/UbQW2kR1Lgg?si=46QUAqY9aYgyR_qh
