A One‑Stop Taste of Osaka: InterContinental Hotel’s MICHELIN Key Luxury

"I stayed at the InterContinental during a magical spring trip, and between the dining and spa — an on-site, upscale take on onsen baths — I left with an appreciation of the hotel as a local experience I don’t always expect from such a large international brand. Steps from Osaka Station, the 20th-floor lobby offers skyline views, a traditionally minimalist aesthetic and bright artwork, and I became obsessed with the cool citrus water served in artsy, colorful glasses; the concierge would even call the spa to save some for me when I returned too late. The spa recreates regional hot spring traditions with two warm baths meant respectively for sitting and lying, alongside typical offerings like massage, facials, a 24/7 gym and a swimming pool. The sprawling breakfast buffet — a haunting favorite — combined Japanese sensibilities and simple cooking with beautiful fresh fruit, tamago, perfectly salty cod roe and fresh pastries. It felt like pure excellence and high-end luxury while still unmistakably Osaka." - Alexis Benveniste

"A luxury hotel befitting the massive Grand Front commercial complex, the Intercontinental Osaka has all the bells and whistles of a five-star property. Amply sized rooms include Bose speakers, soaking tubs with separate rain showers, and bath amenities from San Francisco aromatherapy company Agraria. The guest rooms and residential suites are located on floors 21-28 of the building and may have views of the Yodo River, Umeda Sky building, Umekita garden, or bright-red HEP Five ferris wheel. The spa level includes a Japanese bath, saunas, and an indoor lap pool. On the 20th floor, the hotel has French fine dining, an open-concept grill, a cocktail bar with “standing stools” overlooking the city, and a lounge for afternoon tea. Interconnected walkways and elevators take visitors to a dizzying array of shopping and dining options, and Osaka’s main station is a few minutes’ walk away."

InterContinental Osaka (Osaka, Osaka Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The InterContinental Osaka could hardly be more central; it’s a part of the Grand Front commercial development, which is full of retail, dining, and business destinations, and is a short walk from the main rail station. Inside, it’s the very picture of the modern urban luxury hotel — its spacious, stylish rooms have impressive views and even more impressive bathrooms, with deep soaking tubs separate from the walk-in rain showers. The spa and fitness offerings are first-rate, and the restaurants have a pronounced European accent; Pierre, the flagship French restaurant, is the proud owner of a Michelin star." - Tablet Hotels

Perfection from the minute we booked all the way through to check out. This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious with gorgeous views but what really made our time here was the staff. Every staff member we dealt with offered 5 star service in an old fashioned way which is very hard to come by these days. I can not praise their service highly enough. Also, the breakfast buffet is truly exceptional, such fresh food and the amazing variety. So glad we stayed here.

Staying at the InterContinental Osaka was exactly the reset we needed. The moment you walk in, you feel calm: everything is beautifully designed, spacious, and thoughtfully planned for real comfort. The rooms are a dream: floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of Osaka, a huge bed, plenty of space to unpack and move around, and a bathroom that honestly feels like a private spa. The bath facilities downstairs are an amazing introduction to Japanese bathing culture: quiet, beautifully designed, tattoos allowed, and even a dry sauna. Breakfast at NOKA is another highlight. The selection is incredible, from Japanese dishes to Western classics, plus a dessert corner that’s impossible to resist. And dinner at NOKA is a whole experience on its own: fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The staff made everything easy, from restaurant bookings to recommendations. If you’re traveling through Japan and craving comfort, space, and a bit of luxury, especially after tiny hotel rooms and 20k-step days, InterContinental Osaka is absolutely worth it. It’s the perfect place to slow down and recharge. 10/10 — would stay again.

Dear Mr. Kim and team, I would like to thank for the exceptional service you provided during our recent stay at Intercontinental Osaka from Dec 16 to 19. The arrangements for our three rooms were impeccable. We appreciate your efforts in going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Additionally, attached are drawing by a 6-year-old guest from our group who proudly ranked your hotel with an "A"! Thank you once again for your outstanding hospitality. We look forward to our next visit! C Lee

Overall everything was nice!!! 4* because I booked through Amex FHR and got daily breakfast already the IHG diamond member benefit would be 600 points or a free drink voucher. We stayed at IHG Seoul and Tokyo before and got 2-3 drink vouchers depending how many stayed in the room and I had platinum status then. This time as a diamond member the front desk only offer 1 drink voucher for me and not my husband. I felt that was kind of poor hospitality! At the Noka restaurant we met a wonderful staff named Phuong N. We had great service and a nice dinner there. Will try the breakfast tomorrow!

Everything perfectly started from the time we entered the hotel. We felt a very warm welcome by a friendly Customer Service Manager, experienced a premium room as well as high quality room service. When we went to the restaurant for breakfast, Kopila impressed us! She was very friendly and sincere with natural communication style that we felt relaxed. We definitively will come to this hotel again in the next trip. Best regards, Pun's family

I had a great stay at the InterContinental Osaka. The hotel’s modern décor feels welcoming from the moment you walk in. The location couldn’t be better — right by Osaka Station, connected to department stores, and super walkable. There are plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants just steps away. My room was always spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job. The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. Overall, a luxury hotel in a fantastic, walkable area. I’d happily stay again.

We stayed for four days with two young children around Christmas time and the entire staff - check-in, concierge, turndown service, house keeping, pool/onsen, were very helpful with our many requests that made things much easier when traveling with little ones. Upon arrival, Liam greeted us warmly and was able to confirm our early check in request and the baby crib was ready for our young daughter to use. The concierge recommended an excellent ramen restaurant that was kids friendly. She actually called to make sure the restaurant had space to accommodate us. The turndown service staff provided us extra towels and water. On a rainy day, we stayed in to enjoy the spotless pool and onsen. The pool even provided swimming caps and googles for both adults and kids! When we left, the bell service staff helped us transport our luggage from our room and they were already loaded onto our airport transfer without prompting by the time we got down. The hotel is located at Grant Front Osaka / Grant Green Osaka area with lots of restaurants / shops / beautiful park and a short walk to the train station makes it an excellent hub for visiting Osaka and day trips to Kyoto and Nara.

I stayed at InterContinental Osaka on November 1, 2025, as a Diamond Ambassador, and had very high expectations given the hotel’s strong reputation and positive word-of-mouth. Unfortunately, my experience was largely disappointing. Room Cleanliness / Housekeeping: Inside the room, under the TV counter, I found a SIM card package left behind by a previous guest. This is unacceptable from a sanitation and housekeeping standpoint, especially for a luxury hotel that positions itself at a five-star level. Room Service: I ordered ramen via room service, but the noodles turned out to be pasta rather than proper ramen noodles, and the soup was not even warm. This is especially surprising and unacceptable for a luxury hotel in Japan, where food standards are typically exceptional. In-Room Massage: I booked an in-room massage and was greeted by a masseuse who appeared grumpy and eager to finish quickly. The massage itself lacked pressure and technique—she mostly rubbed the surface of my back without working on pressure points. The quality was far below expectations, especially when compared to places like Rihga Royal Osaka, where therapists are clearly well-trained. Swimming Pool / Onsen: The experience here was also disappointing. The staff member explaining the rules and procedures seemed confused at times and had to repeatedly clarify himself, which disrupted the experience and made it feel unnecessarily stressful. The only consistently good service I experienced was during check-in. Beyond that, the overall service did not meet the standards expected of a five-star hotel. I stayed at several other hotels just prior to this trip—InterContinental Yokohama, hotels in Tokyo, Garner Hotels, Rihga Royal Osaka, and W Osaka—and sadly, this was the weakest hospitality experience among them. While the room and facilities are visually impressive, the hotel lacks the warmth, attention to detail, and consistency that truly define exceptional hospitality—the kind that touches people’s hearts. I hope to return in the future and sincerely hope these issues will be addressed.

Yelp
FANTASTIC HOTEL! If you're in Osaka it's a solid choice. Great room, great view, great location and staff. It's connected to a mall and train station and conveniently located to all things Osaka. The hotel offers a daily happy hour and an excellent breakfast buffet. There's also a Michelin star restaurant on the premises. Thank you Intercontinental for a great stay.

Yelp
Great staff and convenient location. It's located within the mall and close to the train station. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Amazing hotel, in a very cool area of Osaka inside the mall. The room itself was immaculate, and the facilities of the hotel were clean and calming. The breakfast buffet was decent as well, and the bar was really excellent for a night cap. The hotel also had an onsen, which was nice but felt more like a gym sauna than a Japanese onsen. I'd definitely stay here again if I were in the area another time!

Yelp
Loved my stay at the IHG Osaka. It's conveniently attached to a mall and there's plenty of food choices just a short walk away. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a larger room. Our reservation also included daily breakfast for 2, which was a nice little luxury to start off the day. The hotel breakfast didn't change much day to day, but the food was enjoyable and I thought the quality was rather upscale. The gym is also quite large and well-equipped. We went early in the morning so it felt like our own private gym as it stayed fairly empty. There's also a swimming pool right next to the gym. I believe there's also a laundry room which is convenient and cheaper than having your laundry done by the staff. Lastly, the hotel bakery (Stressed) has a lot of delicious treats. I highly recommend the shine muscat tart. It was one of the best desserts I've had during my trip and the quality is top notch.

Yelp
This is the most beautiful hotel in our Japan Stay. We were able to stay in the top 32nd floor suite and it was heavenly. Osaka is a beautiful City with lots to do, but every day we looked forward to coming back to our luxurious hotel suite to relax. There were only 6 rooms on our entire floor. We had a kitchen and laundry machine as well as amazing views of the city. We had an outdoor atrium that had 180 views of the city and had an open rooftop. This was the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in. The hotel is next to malls and lots of amazing food courts. Every mall had a few food floors with amazing dining. The breakfast is very nice here. The service is incredible. Definitely recommend staying at the Intercontinental next time we visit Osaka. Happy Yelping!

Yelp
Nice hotel. You're able to get into a huge shopping complex on one of the floors through a connecting door, which is very convenient to get to more food options, and if it's raining! Buffet breakfast (4 stars): Good options, very clean. They don't change much daily but they do have one made to order item included which is nice. Service (5 stars): everyone was very helpful. The hotel restaurants weren't able to accommodate our large group last minute so make reservations if you do have a big group! But you can always walk into the mall next door. Room Service (5 stars): The food was really good and came faster than their estimated time.

Yelp
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times. The location to the station and shopping can't be be. Just simply go to the first floor and it is attached to the hotel building. The hotel is new, so the room are fresh and modern. We love the glass enclosed shower tub area. Want that in my house now. Wow! Service is welcoming and friendly. The lobby is on the 20th floor. We opted to add breakfast to our room for a discounted price. Completely worth it. The buffet breakfast has lots of choices for all tastes. As for our stays all have been pleasing; though, we thought our last stay was in jepordy when they didn't have a twin bed room for our family. Management was committed to ensure our stay is pleasurable. In the end we were offered an option on rooms and made it work by adding a bed to the room. For our kids they left a kids package that included a bear sponge, kids toothbrush, and a Intercontinental Osaka stuffed gorilla. Thank you Intercontinental Osaka we will be back. Arigato

Yelp
Inter-Continental Osaka is an upscale hotel in Osaka near the Osaka Train station that provides a very Western experience. The hotel also contains many residence rooms which include a separate kitchen, dining, and washer & dryer. This hotel is nice - very nice - and as long as you're willing to pay for it you'll have a great experience. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - The Inter Continental Osaka towers above Osaka and is a short walk from the main train station. The hotel lobby is located on the 20th floor. It's open, colorful, and provides great views of the skyline. It has an upscale feel and you'll feel like you're in a Western hotel. 1 Star. Service - The staff are very helpful and speak English very well. On our 3 night stay, they forgot to put a Nespresso machine in our room. The eventually put one in but every time I called the front desk, concierge, or some other employee they would apologize for the missing machine. Even upon check out that reminded me. Note - the pool is an indoor lap pool and you need to wear a shower cap if you wish to use it. SPA staff was also great & extended our checkout to 2 PM. 1 Star. Facility - It's honestly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. We were upgraded to a two-bedroom residence (almost 1000 sq. ft.) with two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, a laundry machine. Each room had a 40+ flat screen TV that allowed you to switch between both English & Japanese languages. Each night stand had lighting controls to control all the lights in the room. But perhaps the best feature was the bathroom. The Japanese Toto toilets were heated, water/dryer equipped, and probably would have made me breakfast if I programmed it. The tub & shower were combined into one unit. But not like tub with a shower - it was a large room (think sauna) with a tub and separate shower controls. It's unique to Japan and something is a great experience. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Not only is the Inter Continental Osaka in a great location a few walks away from the main Osaka train station, it's also a superb luxury hotel that will rival those in the west. I hope I get a chance to return. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five-star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel that was amazingly clean, spacious, and perfectly located. The room was beautifully laid out with a very comfortable king-size bed and two comfy lounge chairs. I loved the bath tub and bath salts that were included in the amenities and the large shower area next to it. I especially liked that the toilet was in its own separate space with a frosted door. The rest of the bathroom walls were all glass which I liked because I was staying by myself. The people at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. They spoke English very well and were able to answer any questions that I had. The breakfast buffet was amazing! It was filled with plenty of food items from Western to traditional Japanese dishes. They even had a pretty large selection of Chinese dishes as well. They also offered eggs cooked to order and coffee or tea with each meal. The fitness center was so big with plenty of pieces of cardio equipment and strength machines. It had everything that you needed including really nice front desk people who handed you a towel and bottle of water as you entered. There was a large swimming pool next door to the fitness center which seemed very nice as well even though I didn't use it. The lobby was well-lit with floor to ceiling windows all along one side. The hallways were nicely lit as well which is always a plus for a single female traveling alone. I also liked that you had to swipe your key card in order to access the elevators to the guest rooms. I felt like royalty staying at this hotel and I would definitely love to come back to stay here again during any future visits to Osaka.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Great amenities. Gorgeous views. spectacular suites, great restaurants and of course impeccable service. The only thing i see that can be improved on is its breakfast food selection. It's good but does not stand out above all the other Asia high end hotels. 24 hour gym access is great for that late night workout. It's a few minutes to public transportation but it does offer shopping along the way so it makes it a pleasure of a walk. I really like this Hotel.

Yelp
Very very nice hotel. Nice facilities, beautiful room with nice views, very convenient location. Amazing shower and bathroom. I only knock it one star because of the checkin policy. They charged 7000 yen per night extra to have a second person in the room, which I had never encountered before and also did not experience at our hotel in Tokyo. Other than that it's a great hotel. Very easy access to Osaka station, via short walk.

Yelp
One of the best hotels you will find in terms of service and amenities. The rooms are brand new and feature spacious bathrooms with large counters, big fluffy towels, as well as big closets and great views. Super quiet! The staff is uniformly friendly and the concierge gladly made reservations for us at popular restaurants including one of the top sushi joints. The only minus factors are the bars (too much smoke) and the pool service (no slippers, no bottled water, no pool guys to lay towels, and nowhere to sit when you are forced to remove your shoes). But these are minor quibbles that do not detract from a fantastic 5* experience. I would definitely stay here again in Osaka, as it compares favorably with others that have rates 2-3x higher. Easy 5m walk from the main train station (with luggage) and a convenient Tully's for morning java and 7/11 in basement for snacks and ATM.

Yelp
Awesome awesome AWESOME hotel! It was super clean and spacious! Staffs were friendly and helpful and loved the location as it is located minutes from Osaka Station and a mall. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there again!

Yelp
Great experience from the time I checked in. The front desk had someone that spoke English and was respectful. The room was very clean with more amenities than hotels in USA. The room service was on time and professional. The food is not as good as what you can find in the towers but OK for hotel.

Yelp
I travel very frequently for my business and personal. I often stayed in a different hotel chain in Osaka (for my business trips and personal trips). When my Japanese friend found out my family and I are visiting Osaka this time, she highly recommended this hotel for a change. When I checked in to the hotel, a receptionist told me my family and I were booked for a king size bed only. I told her I normally book two beds for my family trip since we have two little ones. I also told her we were confirmed for two twin beds (we booked this hotel more than a month ago). Her reply was "I understand". Next thing she did was to explain me that there will be 4000 Japanese yen additional charge for an extra bed. I could not believe what she was telling me since I had the Intercontinental Hotel confirmation paper with me and showed her (I directly booked the room through the hotel without using a 3rd party). The confirmation paper shows I am confirmed with two twin beds. Luckily my Japanese friend stepped in and explained to her. Then the receptionist gave us a room without any charge (like she was giving me a favor). After I received the room card keys from her, I asked her what the swimming pool hours are. She told me the swimming pool hours are from 9AM to 10PM but for kids, the swimming pool hours are from 9AM to 5PM. Then later, I found out kids can also use the hotel swimming pool until 10PM. It may be an isolated incident but I could not belive that she tried to charge me an extra 4000 Japanese yen for the room that already confirmed with two twin beds and told me an incorrect swimming pool hours. I will not recommend for my company to use this hotel for any business trip and will not use for my personal trip either.

Yelp
Not the best location. But it is a nice tall building that overlooks the city. Rooms is very spacious and staffs are friendly

Lily L.

Yelp
Loved the hotel! We had a two room / two baths residence unit equipped with a full kitchen and a living/dining room. The rooms were spacious. The beds were US size. The hotel has many amenities that are beyond what this review can cover. Definitely highly recommended for stay at Osaka. It's close to Umeda train and JR stations and connected to Osaka North and South that have floors of shops and restaurants. Since the hotel actually started on the 20th floor, one should be able to get a good view of the city.
