★☆☆☆☆ Absolutely Not Worth the Price — Save Your Money When we first arrived at the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront, we were impressed. The lobby is beautiful, and the bellhop and valet teams were absolutely incredible—polite, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, everything went downhill the moment we checked in. We paid over $500 a night for what turned out to be a tiny, closet-sized room. I had reserved a king bed, but we were given two queens. When I asked about it, I was told we selected a “classic room” and that means they can give us whatever configuration they have available. That is incredibly misleading, especially when booking through a site like Booking.com where I clearly selected a king. (Mind you we booked in January and was not last minute) My husband is tall and does not comfortably fit in a queen bed — this was not just a preference, it was a necessity. The condition of the room was even worse. The ceiling was visibly falling apart near the windows, which also had no emergency escape handles — a major safety concern. The vent was caked in dark debris (mold? dust? no clue, but it was disgusting). The room smelled musty and stale and was covered in dust. To make matters worse, the door to the adjoining room had a large gap underneath—you could see right through. It felt completely unsafe. The mattresses were old, lumpy, and uncomfortable. Our “river view” was barely visible through the filthy windows. The mini fridge didn’t work, there was no microwave, and the TV was laughably small for a so-called luxury hotel. To top it off, you’re forced to valet park, which costs an extra $45/day, and there are no included amenities to make up for the outrageous price. We spoke with the front desk multiple times before ultimately deciding to leave after just 10 minutes. The only redeeming part of our stay was the kind man who helped with our luggage and the wonderful valet staff — they deserve five stars. The hotel, however, absolutely does not. There is no reason to stay here at these prices. Spend your money elsewhere.

I cannot say enough nice things about the staff here. I stayed here over the weekend with my 3 month old son while my husband was in a wedding. Everyday someone was there to greet us or offer me help while juggling all the things. They also accommodated any request I had. The room with the 2 queen beds was a little small with a stroller in the room, but otherwise we enjoyed it and would stay here again!

Okay, here’s a positive review for the Intercontinental Riverside Hotel in St. Paul: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental Riverside Hotel in St. Paul, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's location is perfect, offering stunning views of the Mississippi River and easy access to downtown St. Paul. The staff were incredibly welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile and making me feel right at home. The rooms are beautifully appointed, combining modern amenities with elegant decor. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the spotless cleanliness of the entire hotel. The dining options were also top-notch. The hotel restaurant served delicious meals with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. Overall, my stay at the Intercontinental Riverside Hotel was nothing short of fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience in St. Paul. Whether you're there for business or leisure, this hotel will exceed your expectations.

This is an amazing hotel. Beautiful views, modern lobby and rooms, and comfy beds! Super close to the Museum of Science (an amazing interactive museum for kids and adults) and easily walkable for St. Paul's downtown. It is a downtown area so you will have the same experience as staying at any downtown urban area (homeless and addicts wandering around), but the other reviews saying that this place is overrun with them are a total exaggeration. They are not hanging around all over in the front. My wife, young kids, and I never felt unsafe even at night. Parking is a bit of a problem as it's a downtown area. Your best bet is to just use the hotel's valet service. Just plan on spending another $30 a night. It's so much more convenient. The valet staff are fast and friendly. We loved our stay and will be back!

Awesome hotel! Very comfortable beds and rooms. Bathrooms/Showers are amazing and up to date! Amazing view of the river front from it's glorious 22 floors. Romantic at night as you view the city from your room! Walking distance to killer restaurants. They only have Valet parking which runs you 41.00 per night. Or you can park a block down for 20 per night at one of the parking ramps. They also run a little higher on the incidental room charge which is a 100.00, use CC only. To get refund on debit card takes 10 plus days.

This hotel is in a great location being 10 mins from Xcel on foot if you're going to an event that's wonderful. The valet service and most of the staff were helpful and friendly. Keep in mind overnight parking comes to about $41 per night. Our room was overall clean but very small for the price tag. The air was constantly freezing and blowing no matter how high we put it. No microwave and an underwhelming restaurant. Buffet breakfast for $21 a plate. Witnessed an unprofessional waitress making a cash deal with the table next door. As long as they paid her cash it would be $13 per person by my calculations since she asked two of the people for $26 only. Not great when others can hear this and paid full price. Top it all off we had to pay her in cash for our meals since no one else was around at the time and got no receipt but she did short us on cash back. Take from that what you will. The food was so dry and overcooked so not worth it venture out. Fine for a 1 night stay. Probably will shop around next time and I certainly wouldn't stay a whole vacation here.

Google
I really enjoyed my experience at the Intercontinental. The hotel was clean and the area surrounding it was beautiful & clean as well. The bellhop was so kind and courteous. He was not in your face and was very polite. The front desk staff were also kind and very polite. The valet drivers were all quick and professional. I did not like that it was mandatory PAID valet but pros and cons. No pool on property but the gym was nice. Would & will stay again! Just keep the pool & valet info handy.

We stayed 3 nights at this place for our kids' dance competition. Where do I start? We arrived around 12:30 am on Thursday, the first room we were given (502), had moisture issues on the ceiling near the return air grille. The drywall was moldy and looked like it was about to fall down. We had to take our stuff back down to the front desk and although the staff was very friendly and trying, he was struggling to find us a different room. We were given room 314, this room was so small that the double beds were almost against the walls. The new rooms cleanliness was less than desirable but we dealt with it. There was tape on the walls, window sills were extremely dirty, an electrical outlet was sticking out of the wall next to the bed, and you can see the HVAC air filter in the return air grille and it was extremely dirty. I didn't want to try to switch rooms again since it was difficult the first time. The next morning, we noticed that the mini fridge was not working. I called and asked if they could bring up a new one and I would move our stuff and change it out when we got back to the room. The front desk staff said no problem. A short while later, they called back and said that they had to send maintenance staff up to take care of the issue. So I sent my family on to get food, and I would wait for them. Maintenance staff arrived and, although friendly, they only unplugged and plugged in the refrigerator. Of course this didn't work long term. Appliances don't work that way, if they have to be unplugged/reset there is a bigger issue. The refrigerator tripped out again later that day and never worked the time we were there. I knew that it was shot but they would just keep on resetting the power so I didn't call back. We ate at the restaurant on Friday and it was a mess. The wait staff was unorganized, food orders were wrong and the food was so so nothing spectacular. Coffee shop staff was busy but friendly and service was good. On Sunday I asked for a late checkout and I was told that it was not possible and no late checkouts were available, I talked them into a checkout of noon. around 11:00am I went to get a cart and in the hallway saw another guest waiting with all of their stuff. They said that you have to get on the list with the bell man and they were waiting over an hour. I went to get on the list and they were at my room right away. I told them to help the family in the hall that was waiting over an hour. Then I ended up waiting almost an hour. Long story short staff is friendly but understaffed, skip the restaurant, if you can stay somewhere else.

Yelp
This location is in downtown St. Paul and is close to lots of office buildings and restaurants. It's about a 20 min drive to the MSP airport and is convenient. There is a coffee shop in the lobby across from the Citizen restaurant that's located inside this hotel. The rooms are partially updated, but could use a paint job. I came in the winter time, so it wasn't humid and didn't smell. Compared to the Doubletree, I thought the room here was slightly nicer. The bed was comfortable. My room faced the Mississippi River and there were barge noises that I heard throughout the night, but nothing that kept me up. There's a safe and mini refridgerator in the room (no microwave), and some have bathtubs. Intercontinental is part of the IHG chain (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Candlewood, etc). .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2023

Yelp
I'm more of a foodie, but I do throw in an occasional review of other businesses. While our recent stay at this hotel was oddly affordable (in that big city way), it has room for improvement. There is a great deal of construction around the building (October 23). Not only would it have been nice to get an email notice, stating they were down to one entrance, but calling 10 minutes prior to our arrival would have been a good time for the call taker to advise of the inconvenience. There is valet parking available. They seemed to do a good job. I'd suggest using the valet as it turned out to be comparable to the price I paid for public parking in the area. There is also a restaurant, bakery and bar within the hotel; if you are in need of food or drink. We didn't try either. My two main gripes, which kept me from giving it a four, were a rude, obstinate desk clerk and a slightly underwhelming king-sized room. The clerk lacked personality, empathy or knowledge (aside from that she was efficient). The room was on the smallish side and was in need of better lighting and a more effective heating/cooling system. However, it was clean. If you stay, give yourself plenty of time at the elevators. They are not speedy. Would I stay again? Yes, the price was right. I'd also call ahead to personally check on their parking situation and construction issues in the area.

Yelp
They staff knowingly and willingly put the entire building in danger by allowing a pre planned police raid to occur on the premise with the building full of guests. The staff found fentanyl inside a room. And instead of thinking about the well-being of their other guests they put all of us in immediate danger by calling the police. And allowing the raid to take place inside the hotel. https://kstp.com/kstp-news/local-news/investigation-underway-after-overnight-incident-involving-swat-team-at-st-pauls-intercontinental-hotel/ They gave no indication of concern for any of their guests. Not efforts to let us know what was happening. And they actively hid information from the guests. Purposely keeping us in the dark. I thought the elevator was broken and instead of telling me there were armed police and an active shooter on the premise their response was completely lacking in any danger just to stay in my room. No reason why. When I asked for more information about this incident. I was threatened to be kicked from the hotel. Then they tried to bribe me with some chips and candy like I'm a child. Shame on you guys...

Yelp
The staff of the intercontinental Saint Paul is awesome!! They have plenty of people to help and they are extremely helpful! The concierge has had home run restaurant recommendations, the valets are prompt and polite, and the desk staff were super quick in getting us our room! The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfy! The showers are awesome! I would defiantly stay here again!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in the customer service here. They charged me for parking twice and after dealing with it for months, they refused to make it right. The stay was fine, but the customer service is terrible.

Yelp
Clean, classy and cosmopolitan. Close to Xcel concert venue. You can walk. Beautiful view of the riverfront from the upper floors. Problems: Parking. You must use the valet. Entry to the hotel is on massively busy, riverfront street and there is no room to pull up to get to the valet. We were two blocks down, stuck in traffic as we approached the hotel at a snail's pace. Honestly, we weren't even sure what we were supposed to be doing. We were tired from driving and anxious to get out of the car. It was obvious most other cars weren't sure what to do either. Were weren't even positive we were in the the right place. Cars tried to shuffle in and out of the line. The whole ordeal took a long time and left me extremely frazzled. Beds. I had booked the room at least a week in advance and positively chose one with two queen beds. We ended up with one king. We could have tried to get out changed, but after the parking ordeal the last thing we wanted to do was go back to the crowded lobby and deal with living all our luggage around, etc.

Yelp
Dusty, dirty and dated. What a sad place. Not a ton close by but I would not eat in the hotel....it is awful! Do yourself a huge favor and stay somewhere else.

Yelp
My heartfelt thanks go out to Christina M., who answered the phone when I called, and helped me get my reservations sorted out. We are part of a wedding party, but the dates we were staying did not align perfectly with the dates blocked out for the wedding party. Christina resolved this promptly, and also offered lots of very helpful information about transit in Minneapolis-St. Paul, things to do there, and places to eat.

Yelp
Rough Intercontinental Experience.... Let's start off by saying I've never had a bad experience at any intercontinental in all my travels... Desk girl was polite at check in. Room 615: I can only say this is one tiny room! The end bed cannot be entered or existed without being inside the curtains and crawling over a sleeping wife. The pictures looked so spacious... I am guessing the air circulation for the entire building or something is below us on the roof out the window. The constant humming and noise was relentless. I found it impossible to fall asleep. Ugh... checking out of here in the am with anticipation! LH bed mattress seems as it someone brought their 1,200 pound pet horse into the room and ultimately collapsed the mattress and springs. Get in or out and you will wake your kids up with the surprisingly loud squeaks... The other bed mattress doesn't have this effect, but feels worn out still. Sheets: somehow I am up now at 1am while my wife and son who can sleep through anything are passed out. These sheets have me itching like crazy. My wife mentioned this but still fell asleep at 9pm. The itching is driving me crazy as I type this! I hope I don't have bug bites in the am. Parking lot: 90 degrees outside in the day and you go into the dark cave of a dirty parking garage. Seems salt soaked from winter still in July... Cracked and crumbling concrete beams feel less than safe. Elevator 3 smells like greasy fast food, 6th floor hallway like marijuana... Business center: I needed to print a contract to sign and for some reason I was supposed to pay $7.95 to use the computer to print something only to find out the printer had no black ink so I cannot print. Intercontinental dropped the ball at this location! Did I mention the itchy bedsheets!?!!!!! Day 1 of vacation and I am ready to

Yelp
The hotel staff are competent and polite. The rooms are a bit outdated. With a remodel, the rooms could be incredible. The on-site amenities are extremely limited. Seriously, supply more hospitality options such as champagne and snacks. But, the views are remarkable!!!

Yelp
Beautiful facility. Spacious and quiet. Friendly attentive staff. Minimalist lobby. Has a gym and events room. It also as an Amazon Locker.

Yelp
Spent a couple nights here on a recent trip, and the experience was decent. This hotel is located right on the riverfront, which is nice, I was lucky enough to get a room with a view. However if you start walking away from the waterfront, it does get kind of ghetto. There is public transportation and comes with riffraff. The room is spacious but definitely a bit dated. The AC worked well thank God, and the bathroom is pretty clean. The bed in my room was a bit uncomfortable, and a bit too soft. I did order room service one night the food was not good at all. Overall a reasonable stay, the price is decent.

Yelp
Dump. In what appears to be dangerous area. Surrounded by construction. Rooms are drab and outdated. Do not stay here.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
The staff, hotel room and view were great. We had no issues with that. Check in was a breeze and they never gave us any issues. There were definitely other issues though that I will address. I booked my reservation on Hotels.com and the hotel stated there was parking available and I did not know that meant $21 a day for parking! On top of that, their parking garage was so tight, I felt like I was going to hit every corner! Car must also be under 5'9! It was ridiculous. Also, there is no fan in the bathroom - I have never encountered that before and if you leave the door open after a shower, the smoke/fire alarm will go off. My word, I liked the location but I will never stay at this hotel again. Please be aware!

Yelp
Love the restaurant, the banquet is exquisite. Friendly staff, I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
These rooms are pretty. I ended up with a corner room looking out on the river with the 2 corner exterior walls having windows across the whole wall. My room never seemed to get terribly warm, though. I cranked it up as far as it would go (85) when I arrived but ended up having to leave it there for both nights I stayed. My coworker ended up requesting a space heater for her room. I don't think my coffee maker worked. We were in town for business and I just didn't have the time to stop & mention it to the front desk. Beds were comfortable & the room was dark at night. Also, the food served for the conference was really good. I requested special vegan food and it was delicious! You never know what you're going to get when you request vegan food on a business trip but this was very good.

Yelp
There is no microwave here. The only microwave is in the café that you're only able to use between 6 AM and 11 AM. The room stinks and is extremely small like a closet. Windows are filthy & the bed is horrible. Everyone who works here has a disgusting attitude, they are extremely bias's towards you based off how you look. They don't follow Covid restrictions. Clothes and stains in the bed are found inside of the rooms when you arrive. None of the amenities inside of the room were working my first 3nights inside of a freezing cold room. In this picture you see me with my sneakers on that I left inside of the hotel room at 2:26 pm on January 11th. A White Caucasian girl with a short pixie cut to the right side of her face who is heavy set, told me to leave the shoes inside of the room & they would be fine. She told me to call her once I get to the airport and follow up with filing a lost and found report so I can have my shoe sent to me. I was told that security or the front desk would call me before my room was searched so that I could have my shoes removed. I followed all her instructions and called her once I got to the airport to follow up with filing my report to receive my shoes in the mail. My check out wasn't until the next day January 12th at 11 AM. January 12th I waited all day for a phone call or email. Only to be emailed back the day of the 12th being told that my item was not inside of the room & they can no longer help me. I've had to file a police report, hire a lawyer, and escalate the situation up to corporate. After speaking with corporate I was told my claim would be under investigation now & a representative will call me back tomorrow being the 13th. IHG corporate never called me back after filing my claim. This hotel and this entire corporation is a complete FRAUD. I will never in my life make this mistake again to spend my hard earned money with a faculty who doesn't care about my well being or my belongings. They have gotten away with so much BS here it is ridiculous. Don't bother to waste your money. Choose wisely when renting rooms anywhere in Minnesota! Stay safe love bugs

Yelp
Feels small and like a dungeon. I got my 1st room floor 19 on the windward side and could hear there wind through the windows. I Switch to the 17th floor and was not able to control the temperature of the room. The room was hot and I had to open the window and could hear the train all night. I also did not get the room I had originally booked and the front desk couldn't guaranty that I'd get it later until the maids were done cleaning the next day (poor scheduling on the hotels part). Btw the parking garage was unavailable the first night due to repairs and made us pay for valet. Then the next night the garage was full and we had to park off site.

Yelp
I was here to see Jenifer Lewis speak. The facility is fabulous, from the setup to the food. There was NOTHING that I didn't like. They even improvised when one of the ladies' rooms was out of order, allowing us to use the men's room. The waitstaff were nice, quick, and even funny with the banter. I have not seen any of the guest rooms, so I won't speak on that here. I do know that it is high on the list of locations, should I have an event of the size and caliber that would call for it.

Yelp
First the pros: the staff is extremely nice. You won't find a hotel with nicer people. Also, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the view, if you're up high, is incredible. It's in a great location and you can walk everywhere on the skybridge or outside. Now the cons: this place needs to be remodeled and thoroughly cleaned. I looked up and the air filter was caked with dust. The shower, while a cute idea, doesn't have enough coverage with the small glass panel. Water gets all over the floor. Lots of dust and part of the wall around the window was falling down. I'd stay here again if I got a good deal but that's mainly because of the super comfortable bed, the location and the incredibly nice staff.

Yelp
Really helpful front desk staff the first night, room seemed clean, beautiful view of the river. And then, there are weird things, like: neither TV (yes, there are 2 in the suite set up) would turn on... until I was standing 6 inches directly in front of one (not at an angle, and not any farther back). The other one never worked. So until I figured out the finicky TV, I couldn't look at a room service menu (which is only available on the TV?) but I could call the restaurant and have them read the menu to me (because they don't have a current menu online anywhere? Actually OpenTable did). Things went downhill with checkout: I still can't get my rooms charges sent to me. They hadn't yet gone through when I checked out, which I understand, but it's the day after, and they still haven't gone through. (And attempts to contact the hotel include being sent to deadend extensions, being transferred to random vm and having the email they provided bounce back.) One last note: I've never had to try so hard to plug into wall outlets. All of them seem to be designed to encourage energy conservation (which I respect, but again, weird).
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Check-In was not convenient. I was made to feel second rate because I booked through a third party. Front desk lied about parking fees causing me to spend much much more than necessary for parking, $64 for 1 night. The carpet in the room was very dirty. There were few food options available. The beds were very comfortable and the view was great, but we heard every single word and movement from the room next door. Not worth the $200 a night and $64 parking!
google avatar

Yelp
Great hotel! We arrived, hoping to just drop our bags off and then go to lunch, but they were able to check us in (and upgrade) us to a large corner suite before 11:00 AM. Talk about early check in. We received periodic text messages throughout our stay checking in on our visit. One night, we needed extra towels, and they had them delivered in within minutes! The room was clean, and the bathroom seemed fine to me. Another great feature - it's within a block of a green line train. This is our new favorite hotel in the Cities, and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Self-parking is available, which cost $24 per night or $48 for my two-night stay. I recommend self-parking on level P2, which is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel lobby elevators. I was able to get a paring spot within a short walk to the hotel entrance. Mobile check-in did not function. There was a very long slow-moving line to check-in. As an IHG platinum member, I received one drink coupon, which I redeemed at the hotel bar for a draft beer. I did not receive a self-parking in/out pass at check-in even though I gave the front desk staff my self-park ticket. This was my first time here on business at the adjacent convention center. I really enjoyed my upgraded king bedroom corner room 1913 for $186 inclusive of all taxes with windows on two walls of the room with one side overlooking the Mississippi River. A small refrigerator was standard. I was disappointed with the small 42-inch flat screen TV. A room and hotel of this stature and size should have at least a 50-inch flat screen TV. I enjoyed free WiFi. The hotel texted me about my check-in, which I explained some of my disapointments. The bathroom towels were very nice. I especially enjoyed my large bath towel, because I am 6 foot 2 inches tall. The bathroom door was made of very solid heavy wood. I was told about the Sky Way to the River Centre convention center, but, direction signage along the way was poor. It took about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the River Centre convention center. The IHG app check out function did not operate, therefore, I returned to the front desk to check-out and retrieve a parking ticket to vacate the self-parking lot. I later learned that IHG has app check out problems at their other hotels. I would definitely stay here again if my business was located at the River Centre convention center and the room cost less than $175. Hopefully IHG will solve some of their service related problems.

Disgusting. Smelly. Rancid hotel. Zero customer service. Rude staff. Terrible experience.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed at the intercontinental. Our room was extremely dark and small, giving off a very depressing vibe. We could also hear everything from the room next door, including arguments late at night and early in the morning. The shower had no door or curtain, so water would soak the entire bathroom after every shower. The downstairs lobby was nice, and the gym was decent with plenty of treadmills. Overall unimpressed, and would look for other places to stay.

Yelp
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at my room wasn't clean till 4 o'clock in the afternoon no room service they advertise a full breakfast entrée when you check in and it's a freaking Buffay that looks like it's at Hampton Inn I will never staying at another intercontinental hotel Lighting in the rooms is awful there are no recess lights to slams what a terrible experience. Just try to change the direction of the vents of the air-conditioning there must've been an 1/8 inch of dust on the vents this place is disgusting. I so wish I would've chose a different venue what a disappointment

Yelp
COVID has been hard on this hotel. Looking at 2019 reviews, it seemed like a decent hotel. I stayed in Jan 2022 and it was a huge disappointment. First off, whenever I stayed at an Intercontinental in other cities, it was a very nice, upscale hotel. This is not. There is almost no staff. The self park was closed, so I had to pay $32/day to valet park. There are no carts to bring your luggage in. The desk person doesn't smile or greet you in any way. The lobby is dirty, the elevator was dirty, and my room was dirty. The room was small and the next day the room was never serviced. Not because housekeeping is skipping this during COVID, it just wasn't a priority. A crazy parking setup, unhelpful employees, and a dirty hotel. In addition, the lobby seem devoid of any amenities. I gave it the benefit of the doubt because of decent past ratings, but my experience was way worse. The St. Paul Hotel will be my choice next time I visit St. Paul.

Yelp
I booked this hotel for January 26-28, 2023. A snow storm was approaching that made us change our travel plans. I called and asked to cancel our room. The hostess I called at the front desk said she would cancel our room due to weather related cancellation and we would be seeing the refund on our card within 48-72 hours. We received our credit card statement yesterday and the room was not cancelled! I called yesterday to ask why we were charged for the room and they said it was never cancelled. The lady said I needed the name of the person I talked to when I cancelled the room to receive a refund. I can't remember the person's name I talked to two weeks ago. I even gave her the date and time of the phone call so she could look on the schedule to see who I talked to. She said I needed to know the person's name. Trust me if I knew their name I would be calling their manager to leave a scalding review with them. I thought by speaking with the personnel at the hotel the cancellation would be taken care of. I guess not! There goes a few hundred dollars for nothing! Staff at this hotel are liars and cheaters! I hope you consider that when booking! Especially living in the Midwest with uncertain weather conditions where you may need to cancel!

Yelp
I came into the Intercontinental looking for a last-minute reservation, because I had made a reservation for the wrong night at the nearby Hotel 340. The Intercontinental was booked solid too, but the desk clerk graciously offered me the use of the lobby while I looked for an alternative place to stay. To my surprise, after a few minutes, the concierge herself came over with a solution to our problem: she had found an available room at a nearby hotel. The lobby was big and modern, the view superb, but the real star at this hotel is the staff. We weren't even customers and Ms. Greenwood treated us like personal guests. That's hospitality. We will definitely stay at the Intercontinental on our next trip to St. Paul.

Yelp
When I entered the parking structure today, I was struck that there is no elevator on all of the levels. There is a big, painted wall that reads, "Hotel Entrance" on Floor 2, but no way to access the entrance from other floors. Thus, you have to haul all of your luggage, laptop, and kids down or up, depending on which level you're on, to actually get to the hotel. If this isn't an ADA lawsuit waiting to happen, it certainly is a civil one, considering there's scant lighting in the garage, and anyone could maim, kidnap, or kill you if he/she was so inclined. I certainly hope they have cameras...or a high insurance policy. While I loped down to Level 2, the hotel entrance, I almost got mowed down by a driver exiting the garage, unable to see me, I presume, because of the poor lighting. When I get to my room, I find the thermostat doesn't work, and is permanently set at 62 (seriously, 62?!?). Every sleep study out there says the optimal temperature is 68, not 6 degrees colder. I then turn on the t.v. only to be met with a "no signal" on every channel. I called the front desk, and the gal that answered said that she would send an engineer up to recalibrate it. About 2 minutes later, she called back, and said that due to the "downpour," I would not be able to watch t.v. until "the storm passes." Now, I know that rain can mess with cable, but I also know that Minnesota suffers from below freezing temperatures in the winter, so I'm shocked to hear that their fragile digital television shuts down with a little drizzle. There is no bathtub in the bathroom, only a shower. I am in one of the Executive Suites, which says a lot about this hotel, and its standards of quality.

Yelp
The lobby is very clean updated. Front desk staff was quick and friendly. My room was tiny - by far the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. That being said, the room was extremely clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, shower was hot with good pressure, and the toiletries/towels/toilet paper/etc was all new and fully stocked. Nice view of the river. Other reviews complained of drafty windows and no temperature control but I didn't have that problem. Thermostat worked perfectly and the window was air tight even when I was standing right in front of it. I wish parking was free for guests - it was $24 for self park, $32 for valet, adding another charge to an already fairly expensive room. I would definitely stay again, especially if I didn't have to park a car.

Yelp
My best friend and I booked a suite for two nights this past week. We only booked about three days before we wanted to stay, so I understand it may have been short notice for their housekeeping staff, but the room was disgusting. There was a clump of long dark hair in the shower-my hair is several shades lighter than this was and my best friend is platinum blond-as well as shorter dark hairs on the bathroom floor. There was dried food on the nightstand and dust everywhere. The first night, we didn't actually get into the room until after 11 so we didn't really pay too much attention. The next morning we were in a hurry to get in line for the concert we were going to, so we didn't notice the hair in the shower until she went to use the shower as I was standing in the line at Xcel energy center and she texted me asking if I had used the shower. When I replied I hadn't, she sent me this picture. When I complained at the front desk the next day, the lady at the desk told me she would pass it along to housekeeping. Sorely disappointed she didn't pass it to her manager and I will not be back! Oh, and the valets lost my car for twenty+ minutes and then I got double charged for it! I have a feeling that this poor excuse for a hotel will become an inside joke in my friend group even though it definitely isn't funny.

Yelp
Expensive, but reasonably priced for the area. Small rooms with extremely comfortable beds. Some of the cleanest and freshest Linens we've ever slept on. Our only complaint was that the room was not stocked with their complementary water and only had the $6 bottles of Voss. We received a text asking how our stay was and we commented that we would like the water. We were assured that some would be delivered promptly. I'm glad that we brought our own bottled water, because we never received any from the hotel. Overall a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Yelp
Barely 3 stars. Rooms are some of the smallest I have ever stayed in. Bed was nice but getting to the room felt like I was going back into a storage area. Exercise room is very nice. Calling this a 4 star hotel is a major stretch. It was windy outside and the wind was blowing in through the cracks around my window. I gave this information to management but it was never followed up on to my knowledge. Thankfully, it is only a one night stay. I will be staying at the Saint Paul Hotel next time.

Yelp
Went here for a wedding, which was great, but the hotel was awful. Cheap motel quality at quality hotel price. The elevator broke while we were there and people were stuck. Someone was served salad with gum in it. Nickel and diming at every turn, the room service food was NASTY and expensive. They don't have a pool. I could go on, I'm mad at that "hotel" for being crap. So glad I didn't spring for a suite, I was in one and it was still not as nice as most standard Hotel rooms. Don't waste your time with this one.

Yelp
Barely four stars. Maybe I'm feeling generous. Great spot if you are in town for the Twin Cities Marathon weekend. Only a half mile from the expo and a shuttle pick up/drop off to start and from the finish. Hotel itself is dated with a few updates to make it feel current. Wish I had more time because it's a great starting point to explore the city. A few other bullets: Gym is pretty complete Elevators took forever and we were better off taking the stairs to the 6th floor on a few occasions. They've got a bar restaurant with a solid selection of beers. There was an Indian wedding celebration which kept it entertaining Didn't see to many immediate food options within immediate walking distance

Yelp
Beautiful design. Nice location. Staff is kind... smile more! Valet extremely slow, rooms are small. Facility is clean and recent upgrades. Like it!

Yelp
I booked this hotel stay on points, and I am so glad I did. We had a corner room with an AMAZING view of the river and downtown Twin Cities. There's plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I didn't give this a 5-star review for two reasons: 1) Parking in the garage is $19/day 2) The room was drafty and would get cold unless we had the curtains closed.

Yelp
I was there yesterday with two brides. One had old food in her refrigerator. The other one mentioned first getting room that had clearly not been cleaned. The other room that I was in clearly needed to be repaired. It was the first thing that I was. Upon leaving, I was trying to get change to tip the bellman and the valet. The front desk was busy with guests. The bar tenders didn't have change (but also didn't TRY to help me either (there was no one at the bar so they had the time) I believe that there was a manager walking around cleaning up spills, but should have asked any guest waiting if they could be helped.

Yelp
I came here one time only because company booked the hotel for me. The flight touched down at MSP on 5am and I arrived at hotel lobby around 5:30am. My company booked my room for 5:30am checkin (so it can cover the prior night) and I received confirmation 2 weeks prior. Once I mentioned I had a reservation to front desk, he replied "Oh, we are fully book!" I thought he was joking, but it turned out that the hotel did sold every room for that night. I had to wait in hotel lobby for another hour, tired and fighting jet lag, before they cleaned 1 room thanks to an early checked out, not even to mention I got no perks for being IHG Spire Elite membership. Come on, how could this even happen? So basically screw the pre-booked customers? And Intercontinental are high level chain of IHG group... I was really shocked and ashamed to have that IHG membership. Guess it's time to switch to other hotel brand membership now. I gave 1 star only for its location at downtown St Paul.

Yelp
I was there for a wedding on Saturday(08.24.19). It was a very nice and beautiful venue. During the reception we were first severed bread and then salad. As I gotten my salad and ate through 3/4 into the salad already to find what to be a "chewed gum" that was camouflage of blue cheese. This is was gross! I never ever in my life has this happen to me ever. To make matters worst A piece of it was already in my mouth and chewed it to realized it was gum( I don't chew gum by the way ) and not my vinaigrette dressing and blue cheese I was tasting, it was very minty and very slime sticky and also the last worst thing was I found more of it in my salad. I am so grossed out that I chewed someone's already chewed gum!

Yelp
I booked the Intercontinental St Paul Riverfront because I was in town for a wedding and wanted to make a nice trip out of it. The rest of the wedding party was staying at the Holiday Inn, and I was wrong to assume that the Intercontinental was more upscale. First off, we arrived late at night on day of check in. There was no valet or anyone to greet at the door. We knew with Covid that some amenities were not going to be available. However, we didn't realize there would be a homeless encampment across the street. I pulled up to check in and two homeless people were awkwardly surrounding my car and even followed us into the lobby. Forget masks, one of them wasn't even wearing a shirt and the staff did nothing to get them out. Then, it turned out that the clearance for their parking garage is like 5' nothing. Therefore, my SUV wouldn't fit. I was informed that my options were street parking or paying $18 per day for a public parking garage. I opted for the parking garage a block away, but this happened to be a garage that more homeless people turned into their residence. My dash cam constantly alerted me to people being around my car at all hours of the night. We had to walk through a dark alley to get back to the hotel. The room itself was not much better. Very small. The entry light to the room did not work and had to use cell phone flashlight until I could locate the lamps. It was a very hot weekend in St Paul and their air conditioning never cooled the room to a comfortable level. I couldn't even put a single sheet on at night without waking up drenched. They offered no amenities. No food or drink. Not even vending machines or bottles of water. Only cleaned the room once in five days. I will say on a positive note, decor was modern, bed was comfortable, and the view was excellent (although I did pay for an upgraded view). Overall, a terrible experience and not what I would expect of a hotel that has the reputation of the intercontinental brand. Wish I would've just stayed at the Holiday Inn, or in Minneapolis where the downtown looked much cleaner.

Yelp
I cannot believe how ridiculous this hotel is. Sure, it has a fancy lobby. Do not be fooled! The customer service here is a big fat zero. I reserved and paid for a room in advance for a particular night. I arrive to the hotel, and the front desk people tell me that no room is available! They send me over to another hotel, and say, "We're sorry" with a very unapologetic face. They also refer to some "innkeeper law" to justify that the guest who was supposed to check out didn't and that's why the hotel doesn't have a room for me. What kind of law is that?? I never heard of such ludicrousness. It makes absolutely no rational sense whatsoever. So basically, they are saying that the guest didn't check out but they can't kick him/her out because of the innkeeper law. Does that make any sense? Nope. The taxi driver who transported me from Intercontinental to another hotel told me Intercontinental probably sold my room to another person at a higher price. I think that sounds about right. Never again will I ever book a room at this hotel. I also expect my full refund for the money I paid for the room I never got to stay in. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yelp
Terrible. The staff has been expertly trained in saying no. We specifically booked here because we are moving into a dorm and have a lot of stuff that we need to bring in and out of our rooms. We also planned to leave some of our items in the vehicle overnight. When we made the reservation, we were told they have valet and bell staff. They failed to mention that they only work on the weekend. Disappointed, we decide to self park and lug all our stuff. However, the parking garage is too short for the suv we rented. We were able to get it in to the ground level where there were about 9 reserved spaces with no vehicles in them. The ceiling is too low to go up the ramp. The front desk staff informed us that this was employee parking and they would tow our vehicle if we left it there and offered on street parking. We pleaded for some leniency. While we had 2 rooms for one night and one room for 3 nights. We only needed to park there for one night leaving very early in the morning to move into the dorm. The front desk clerk finally relented and went to the back room to call the manager. The final answer was still a no.

Yelp
Wrapping up my stay here and this was a really wonderful hotel experience. The room was clean, the water quickly and consistently hot, the bed and pillows super comfy, and the room oddly quiet (no slamming doors, no elevator noise - and my room was right next to it). I had a beautiful view of the river and discovered the coffee shop downstairs to be top notch! The muffins and banana bread were so soft and tasty and I grabbed a chicken salad sandwich for a quick bite last night... so good! I found all staff very friendly too. I was here for a conference so the loss of star comes from oddly laid out meeting rooms and mediocre hot breakfasts (must everything have orange cheese?).

Yelp
Stayed here multiple times, great location with lots of meeting spaces. Close to the Xcel center as well as lots of places to eat in walking distance. This has been my go to place for a long time. The front desk team has always been great.

Yelp
Wasn't my favorite and wasn't the worst. Staff in the restaurant/bar were exceptional. The coffee shop lady Phyllis was AWESOME. Front desk people sucked and were inconvenienced you were there. I was here for the Susan G Komen 3-Day and would not stay here otherwise. Beds were comfy and that's about the only bonus to the weekend. Maid service never happened until around 5pm! Pretty sad for $200 a night. Maybe if they reduce their cost I could give them A higher rating.
