InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin

Initially I was scared due to the reviews mentioning how old it is. I am glad I ended up staying here. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the service is impeccable. Everything about the stay was perfect. Best location in town with an amazing campus and great rooms and housekeeping. I will stay here again next time. Absolutely no issue with old rooms - just know that the hotel itself is older so do not expect something unrealistic (plus, the price reflects it). Thanks Stanly at the front desk!

A quite remarkable hotel in an amazing city. The property itself is exquisite, there are excellent amenities, and very comfortable rooms. Start your day off with the buffet breakfast that blends west with east, and then kick off your evenings with some tine in the executive lounge. Highly recommended.

Great service from bell boys, receptionists and housekeeping. The hotel has excellent greenery and the location is great for Citywalk (if it’s not too hot). The rooms are clean and well maintained though one of the USB fails to work. The bed is comfortable. I like the Byredo shower gel and lotion… smell great! Breakfast is available till 10am… they have a good selection and Chinese and Western food.

Stayed 4 nights on a business trip. The property is huge with spread out villas and buildings over a large area. The taxi guys were lost finding the reception area and there were no clear instructions in place. The decor and common areas are grand and welcoming, however the rooms are small comparatively. The property has a classic feel with vintage architecture and fixtures. The staff are friendly. Only disliked the advance deposit of 4000 Yuan when the rooms are already prepaid in full. They insist on this even when it's a corporate tie up booking. The staff are overall friendly and do understand English well. The food options are limited for vegetarians. The menu was repetitive all days of the week . There are limited options for food nearby in walkable distance. For the pricing of rooms I did not find it value for money.

I used to live in Shanghai. Now 15 years later, I got to come back and show my family around the city I used to love. I wasn't sure where I wanted to stay. My wife wanted somewhere convenient and comfortable and quiet. That's when I took a chance on the Intercontinental Ruijin. I booked for 3 nights, then ended up extending our stay twice because we loved it so much. The hotel is convenient to everywhere. The service is impeccable. The staff is very helpful and will do everything to ensure your stay is amazing. The breakfast is delicious and filling. I didn't want to leave! I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff is great, the scenery and the environment is great. However, it can be understood that the owner is strictly controlling the cost (from the decoration, the management quality, the food quality).||Compare with the previous overall experience , I’ll think twice if choose to stay here.||Too many tourists visit here and quite noisy and messy.

Excellent service, friendly staff especially Rick at the Club Lounge. Great stay for family, couples, and friends. The only complaint would be that the bathrooms are quite slippery, must be very careful. The style of the hotel is vintage Shanghainese with a historical vibe. The greenery is beautiful. Would recommend an authentic Shanghainese cuisine restaurant nearby called 瑞福园 (Ruifuyuan). Reserve in advance because it's quite popular.

Stayed here before… great locale. Staff are always helpful. A great getaway spot for us in the center of the best part of the city.  Thank you.  Breakfast super duper. Will stay again.
