Frasers House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore

We booked a two-night suite stay using points to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday in September 2025, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Right from the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the Club Manager, Kenny, whose hospitality truly set the tone for our trip. During our time in the lounge, we had a minor mishap where coffee was accidentally spilled on our clothes. However, the way the hotel handled the situation was incredibly sincere and professional. Not only did they take care of the full laundry service, but they also generously gifted us a Sunday Brunch at their Italian restaurant, LUCE. The food was absolutely delicious and turned a small accident into a wonderful culinary highlight! The room setup was another massive highlight. We had requested some special birthday arrangements, and the team went above and beyond. We walked into a beautifully prepared suite covered in rose petals and heart-shaped balloons, complete with special pastries, a gorgeous birthday cake, and a bottle of red wine. We took so many amazing photos and spent a truly romantic two nights in that room. As the property transitions into its exciting new chapter as Frasers House, I want to wish the team all the best and a very prosperous business ahead. The level of care and service we received was unforgettable. We will definitely be back, especially to dine at LUCE and their other fantastic restaurants again!

We stayed here during CNY for staycation. It was our first experience to enjoy the baby-friendly lounge, it helped our stay a lot. Thanks to Harry and Kenny and all the team there, our stay became so comfortable and fruitful. Our baby also liked them! We will definitely come back. Also door man and bell hops were very helpful, appreciate their hospitality. The best service!

Great location.. comfortable bed. Spacious room. Aircon a bit hot when we arrive, but the technician very on hand and fix it immediately.. fully satisfied with their overall service staff.. always smile and feel welcoming.

Had a wonderful one-night staycay here. Good vibes overall and wonderful service from all their staff, especially Henry from the lounge who went the extra mile to get us oat milk. The room is clean and spacious. Gym is also well maintained with good selection of equipment. Great location in the heart of Bugis, with plenty of food options around. If you are parking here, ask for the $25 front parking. Do not park at the basement carpark as it belongs to Bugis Junction. One minor thing that they could improve would be the choice of bottle water they offer. Made the experience here bit less premium.

As a lifetime Platinum and long time Titanium Bonvoy member, the newly rebranded Frasers House is absolutely spectacular. The pre and post arrival hospitality we experienced was exceptional. This gorgeous property is well positioned to explore the Bugis district and surrounding areas. The Family Suite is perfect for families with little kids: the bunk beds and stuffed animals were adorable. The king bed was sumptuous; one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. The executive lounge team, namely Kenny Lee, are some of the most genuinely kind people we've ever experienced.... They immediately welcomed us and made us feel like long-time friends. Sushant, the director of rooms, is equally exceptional, ensuring our short stay was nothing short of perfection. His genuine care, kindness, and gestures will stay with us for a very long time. Sushant, we appreciate you more than you know! The executive lounge afternoon tea and evening cocktails were lovely and well presented. The TWG tea was most welcomed. The Breakfast Room was one of the most fresh and delicious breakfast buffets we've experienced...the pastries were better than a Parisienne Cafe. The service was warm and attentive. The pool area was a glorious setting to relax with the swaying trees and crystal blue waters. Overall, Frasers House is an exceptional 10/10 property. Overall, it was as slightly better than expected for the price as it was a rather large room Location: Just above Bugis mrt station and attached to the Bugis junction mall. Area was busy due to the Christmas period. Plenty of food & shops nearby outside of the mall Check-in & service: Check-in took about 10 mins. There was an initial hiccup with how a physical ID was required. Staff were generally still patient and professional and did not insist on the physical ID. Room & cleanliness: Room size felt spacious and could fit up to 10 people imo. Bed was [comfortable/firm/soft]. Cleanliness was [good/average/poor] with [specific details].”Bathroom & water: “Shower had [strong/weak] pressure, hot water was [stable/inconsistent]. Towels and amenities were [quality level].”Noise & sleep: “I could/couldn’t hear [corridor/traffic/club]. Used to be Intercontinental, now Marriott with mostly the same staff. 5 star service from start to end. Bonvoy benefits well respected. Outstanding lounge. Only one little annoyance: orange juice was consistently (4 days stay) not refilled at the main breakfast restaurant.

I had a 2-night staycay at this great hotel. Although the name has changed( it is now a Marriott hotel), the service I received remained the same. My favourite spot in the hotel is undoubtedly the executive lounge, which is very spacious and cosy, with delicious cakes and pastries for afternoon teas and local food items during evening cocktail hours, enough for a light dinner. Many thanks to all the staff including Anna and Wai Kit etc at the executive lounge for making my stay very memorable. I will definitely return to Frasers House for another stay!

A great stay in a spacious room. The amenities you'd expect from this hotel brand and warm service. Very close to some excellent cocktails bars off Arab St, plenty of Singaporean late night food options.

A nice hotel in a great location in Singapore with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping walking distance. Got an upgrade to a king bed on high floor on the 14 floor and access to the 2nd floor lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour, and all three were a great experience at the hotel. Concierge and staff were all friendly and helpful. The bedroom was spacious with a large bathroom - walk-in shower and tub. Lobby Lounge served great drinks and appetizers. Wanderlust bar with a James Bond theme had bartenders that made great cocktails. Luce, the hotel's Italian restaurant, was okay for dinner with slow service. The fitness center had just three treadmills and limited free weights, and very hot - for some reason the AC is turned on at 6:10 am each morning. Also, a sauna in the locker room.

My husband and I stayed at the Intercontinental Singapore for three nights, and overall, I thought it was a great hotel even better staff. I am a Diamond Elite Ambassador with IC/IHG, and they have a dedicated check-in area that was always staffed. They almost acted like a concierge, sometimes helping with recommendations and options. They barely clearly told me the benefits and walked me to the room. I was upgraded to a junior suite, and it was a quite spacious room with two TVs and a great view over the indoor mall. I have no complaints about the room and everything was updated and modern. Location was convenient to the MRT station, and the hotel provided a walking tour of the nearby Muslim quarter that we took advantage of. Lots of little food streets around here as opposed to just being in a business downtown area. Staff definitely was the highlight here, especially Fiona. She was a rockstar, and her hospitality was great. The concierge also gave me different options for different price points for massages and restaurant recommendations. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Of course, Singapore has many different brand names and boutique hotels so it's hard to stand out, but the staff definitely is the highlight of staying here.

We arrived at 4am after a 17 hour flight and Safia was working the night desk, she was so gracious and hospitable, offered a hospitality/rest room immediately in hopes for us to get some sleep and a quick shower before starting our late morning plan. We were upgraded to a lovely room and the hotel lobby bar staff was just a pleasure to engage with. I will warn you- don't get coffee from the coffee bar, it was probably the most expensive coffee I have ever had...but the drinks were reasonably priced for Singapore. Really comfortable hotel rooms, amazing staff and perfectly located to walk to the MTR easily and near restaurants near by.

1-night stay (essentially temp housing) after arriving at SIN airport in the early evening. Overall, great location but the hotel is quite dated. If I could do it all over again, I probably should have chosen IC Robertson Quay (modern touch) to burn a FNC. However, I decided to go with IC SG, primarily for its location, as my next destination, Andaz SG, was just down the street. Platinum Elite (mid-upper tier) status barely had any recognition. All I got was a standard upgrade to a "better view" that happened to be in the direction of the Andaz, which I gladly ran towards the following morning via early check-in.

We've been staying at Intercontinental Hotels all around the World ( HK, Bangkok, Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney, KL-Malaysia ) and Never have we ever enjoyed such a well run and produced Breakfast buffet as in the Intercontinental in Hong Kong - Middle Road. The Head Chef Charles has produced some of the freshest and wonderful tasting food, and Hafiz the Food Manager has oversaw a great and attentive staff. Every detail has been attended too , from the warm and crispy Croissants under heat lamps to the huge selection of exotic fruit juices. The Coffee service area is well staffed and insures everyone has a fresh cup of coffee within minutes, served at your table ! First Buffet in Asia, where they have actually served a decent Sausage and Bacon ! Thank you. Doing all the Little things makes for a great production. Great Food and Great Service Staff !! Being IHG, one expects a certain level of excellence, and this buffet deserves the recognition. The Intercontinental Hotel Stay in General has been Good. The Housekeeping staff and Concierge are so nice and hard working. The Front Desk is polite and efficient as usual. The Gym is clean and even provides chilled bottle water for workout. We have been staying at Intercontinental hotels for over 12 years, and stay at least once a year here in Singapore. The convenience to MRT and all the popular food places is just beyond "location" perfect. We've always though Bangkok & Hua Hin Intercontinental were the Overall best, but now Singapore is Just as Great. Thank you

Overall, my stay here was great. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. After I moved to other hotels, I really missed the bed. It's an old hotel but well-maintained to keep her glory. I like some details about its design and decoration. The location is very convenient. The service was great. Highly recommended.

This is intercontinental so you get what you pay for...service is top notch and amenity are outstanding. I've stayed at Marriott on orchard and marina sands but intercontinental is by far the best. This hotel is collocates to a mall and food court, if you are on budget you don't have to spend $30 for breakfast. In fact you can just eat nice breakfast for $4 at food court, which is just a short walk. Taxi is always available but be aware if there are dignitary staying at hotel you may be instructed to catch a cab on the street (Hotel will assist you)

Classic Intercontinental decor and service. The hotel is connected to the Bugis Junction and the MTR so it's super convenient. It's also across from Liang Seah which is famous for its Chinese desserts. Toast Box is three minutes away and opens at 7:30am for delicious Singaporean breakfast. The only flaw is that room amenities are somewhat old. The bedding is also kind of hard and needs an update. The view from 10th floor is great though. Otherwise a perfect central point for a night or two in Singapore.

Gym: latest TechnoGym equipment! Love it! Elliprical (only 1), bike (1), and treadmills (4) have high tech screens that have everything including the ability to charge. Unfortunately not a lot but I didn't have to wait. People seemed on different schedules. Wish there was a recumbent bike. There was 1 other machine. Free weights and other stations. Medicine balls and big inflatable balls for core work. They had an ab board. Yay! Space to stretch in the middle of the room. Invigorating music at a good volume. Check in at the front desk (2nd floor closed) was a breeze and my guy was so pleasant and friendly despite the late nearly midnight hour i checked in. He gave me a quick lobby tour since I had not been there since 2012. Bed is super comfy. Hotel is very quiet. Easy to catch a cab. Chinese and Japanese restaurants were very good (see separate reviews). Club lounge very nice. Ate breakfast there everyday. Service outstanding. Lots of interesting activity in the ballroom during my stay. Weddings, parties, etc. Had a star sighting! Famous Korean movie star stayed on my floor one night so I got to enjoy some extra security! Live music in the lobby was relaxing.

UPDATE This IC has been our top choice hotel in Singapore. Since my original review back in 2013, this hotel remains to be the trusted, first rate hotel that lives up to its Luxury Brand with comfy rooms, delightful amenities, superb service, and value. From the time entering the hotel at its charming courtyard, you'll experience the pampering throughout your stay by its courteous, knowledgeable, helpful staff; the luxury and comfort of the hotel such as deluxe rooms, stylish Olive Tree restaurant, the spacious, relaxing Grand Lounge. This year, it has started the extensive renovation throughout the hotel, including its already beautiful Olive Tree Restaurant! The renovation, in stages from the bottom level up, may take up to a year to complete. When we stayed there back in mid Apr, the renovation had already begun at the 3rd floor, but the hotel remained quiet on higher floors. We didn't notice any noisy construction in progress at all. We were impressed by how well they controlled the noise. - I can't wait to see how the renovated hotel looks and feels like in our next visit of Singapore! BTW: The hotel group (including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza) offers loyalty membership programs such as the Priority Club and the Ambassador Membership at different levels. We found the Ambassador Membership the most valuable for room upgrades, special Welcome Basket, breakfast, Free Wifi, etc. Peter, May 2015

Only stayed one night and didn't get to experience much but the time we did have at Intercontinental was great. The lobby was always clean and tidy. The front desk people were really nice and can change your currency. When we needed a taxi and even when we didn't need help with our luggage, they assisted. The hotel is in the Bugis district. Close to the MTR public transit. If I had more time, I would have bought a pass and used the public transit but in a short amount of time, we just need to go where we wanna go directly. I slept well. WiFi worked. Didn't have any problems or found any nuisances. It's pretty much what you would expect. Have a clean place to stay with a helpful staff.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars, I would. Service is top notch (ever for Asian standards, which are higher than the USA). If your budget allows, book a room with Club Intercontential access and enjoy the breakfast, high tea, and Happy Hour on the 2nd floor. Traditional rooms are pretty nice too. taxi service IN singapore is cheap, but be aware it could take a while to get a cab at the hotel if they have a function like a wedding.

Our stay at Hotel Intercontinental was flawless. No noise, no interruptions from cleaning staff, no mix ups with our booking etc. We had no problems at all, and I find that's a rarity when staying at hotels. The interior was a bit dated, but the room and bathroom size was great. Good quality sheets and everything was nice and clean. Pool was medium sized, not great for laps. The location was fantastic for us, Bugis is the 'trendy' area apparently, a nice mix of hawkers stalls and new shopping malls. I could cross one road and be embraced by the smell of delicious (and cheap) Asian food, and then cross the road on the other side of the hotel to enter a sea of Euro fashion trends at Topshop - hurrah! I do think the price of staying at the hotel is a little steep considering it could do with a bit of modern make-over, but as I said our stay was flawless and the location is great.

Wonderful, delightful and romantic IHG property here in Singapore. Management and staff are very attentive and caring about all the guests. I have been coming here for 13 years and staff remember me and my wife every time we come. Restaurants are terrific, rooms are cozy and clean and the location is great given shopping and tourist things are so easily reached by foot or by an inexpensive taxi ride. Renovations are underway to replace the beloved Olive Tree restaurant, the lobby and guest rooms. Get ready for even better! As a Spire Royal Ambassador, the benefits here are excellent. The club lounge is very nice and the gym is recently redesigned. Special shout out to Hotel mgr Michael Kim, concierge Hock Kim, Peter on bell staff and Heinrik, restaurant manager. And everyone else on staff! Thank you for your continuing kindness over the years. Enjoy-

A gorgeous hotel in the heart of the Bugis district that has been lovingly revamped and kept true to its Straits Chinese, Peranakan heritage. I just wish I had more time to enjoy the facilities and its surrounds. The lobby lounge is marked with towering columns and a huge space that affords privacy too. I skipped the offer of an afternoon glass of champagne but I will take it up next time. I loved the little touches, the nuances and patterns of the fabric and the wood carvings, the ceramic urns, the splashes of colour. The bed was fabulous too. I remember closing my eyes and little else! I had a beautiful meal at the Ash & Elm which has just been dressed up for the Masterchef TV show. And true to Intercontinental Club form, my morning breakfast, though rushed (I had an early flight to catch), was spot on.

Stayed here for a few nights a few months ago and I loved it. It's right smack in the neighborhood that I like - Bugis & Arab Street - great food, surrounded by great shops and stores. It's the best place to live for a few days and escape the bustle and craziness of Singapore. What I Love: The decor inside the room is very nice. It's very modern and the toilet is huge, great looking tub, great shower and dressing area. Very, very, very clean and a very classic look overall. I was impressed. It definitely looks better than the inside of the Swissotel or the Marriott. The bed was really comfy - the room we had was facing the pool, so the view was pretty okay. Pillows are crazy comfy. Service was good. They kept our luggage for us and all. The overall look of the room's pretty nice. I would definitely stay there again. What I Don't Love: Not a huge fan of the lobby decor. It's a little mix-and-match of Asian & European modern influences. I don't know - wasn't my thing.

Whatch Out you get cheated by booking via their IHG site, better book via a booking site, which turns out also to be cheaper. I strongly complained already to the guest relations manager... And only got BS stories and explanations In December, I was told by the hotel as a member that the lounge was included in the price and which I also got accordingly at that time. Now I booked again and all of a sudden it is not included and has to be paid $ 120 extra, which I of course have refused as this was a matter of principle and not money I feel very cheated .....

"...STAYED HERE FOR THE LAST 3 NIGHTS OF OUR 12 NIGHT HOLIDAY - WOW..!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL...!!!" There were five of us - a family group - we always required interconnecting rooms, or at the least.. rooms right beside each other... Due to this requirement the HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL, Middle Road, upgraded us to an Ambassadorial Suite with a connecting Double Queen Suite - HOW LUCKY WERE WE...!!! Beautiful, elegant, classy, clean, large rooms with opulent bathrooms and strong air-conditioning... Just gorgeous... Free daily bottled water... Well-stocked mini-bar... Staff - ALL courteous, ALL friendly, ALL lovely, ALL efficient - Not one single prob... The Restaurants and Their Food - Seriously fabulous... "Possibly one of the most opulent and luxurious Breakfast Buffets we have ever had the pleasure to experience.. Without a doubt.." Just one little disappointment - My teenage sons thought the Pool was a little on the small side.. BUT Hey.., great Pool-side Service went a long way to make up for this... Hope to get there again.. next year.. till then.. Stayed in mid-December 2015 whilst on family holiday.

* Classic feel with modern amenities * I really enjoyed my stay in the Shophouse area of the hotel. The rooms were quite classic with very high ceilings, and Peranakanese stylings reminiscent of the history of the area. All of this with nice modern amenities. A wonderful combination. It also was a very short walk to some excellent Indian food - a bonus! :)

Fantastic hotel, great staff, perfect location! Singapore is small enough that almost every hotel's location is going to be pretty optimum. But the IC is particularly well situated with easy access to transportation options and about equidistant from the Marina Bay Sands and Little India which were my focus areas for my visit to Singapore. Excellent, professional and courteous front desk staff. I felt very welcomed as I was shown to my room. It's always nice to be welcomed with a fruit plate and assorted drinks, especially after a long flight :) Spacious room, very clean and up-to-date. Big bathroom and nice amenities in the bath. Bed was extremely comfortable and pillows were just as I had requested prior to check-in. The shower had adequate pressure and the hot water was piping hot - just the way I like it. Nice bar, though a bit pricey... but alcohol is expensive almost everywhere in Singapore so it wasn't out of the ordinary. They accommodated my request for a late checkout with a smile. Checkout itself was a painless process and everything was accurate. ~ 5 stars overall for a delightful hotel with everything you can ask for in a foreign city. # 283

Really enjoyed my stay here in October. The location is great in the Colonial district and its got a beautiful simple British Colonial decor. My friend and I arrived really early after a long flight around 10am but the receptionist was kind enough to check us in early! I've stayed in a number of great hotels in Singapore and this place was very comfortable, charming, and elegant. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location! Pool area was nice and we took advantage of the little kiddie pool for our 1 year old. Our room was wonderful and the service everywhere was superb. Highly recommend this hotel as you will be center of great food, shopping and the train station if you choose to travel about!

A great hotel lobby lounge.  Love their cappuccino, lively music, and watching people.  A great mix of old and new.  Right off the Bug is street mall.  Go in the back door, just tell the doormen your going to the lobby coffee shop and they will let you in.

Gorgeous, great location, and overall a really quality place to stay. I arrived in Singapore after a good 20 hours in the air, and took a cab over to the Intercontinental at about 1 in the morning. Despite the hour, someone actually came and greeted me at the door, and helped me bring my bags up to the room. I really have to commend that, because I wasn't even checking in for the first time - my dad arrived a few days earlier. So definitely a thumbs up for service. We got a room on the 12th floor with spectacular views of the business district as well as of Marina Bay, so no complaints there either. The room was pretty spacious, with a nice marble-floored entrance foyer and bathroom (also, separate soaking tub and rainhead shower - nice). Like some of the other reviews have mentioned, the decor was very British Colonial, though this place pulled it off quite nicely without making it seem too dated. There's a 24-hour fitness center, sauna and jacuzzi (closes at 11) and an outdoor pool (closes at 10) that is free to use for hotel residents, and I've gotta say that the facilities are really nice. That gym especially helps with those who are jetlagged, awake at 3 am, and bored because nothing else is open. There are also options for dining in the hotel - I went to breakfast at the Olive Tree Restaurant (it's a buffet) and had afternoon tea in the Lobby Lounge, a really nice spot that also serves drinks late into the night. Also, there's a live pianist playing every day. Awesome food and drink, and honestly not that badly priced for Singapore. And if you're in the mood for something outside the hotel, you're about two minutes from an MRT station and multiple bus stops. Plus you can grab a taxi right outside. All in all, this place has my business, and I would not be disappointed to stay there again. Sure, there are places closer to the bay, and hotels that shock and awe more, but the Intercontinental should not be overlooked. Whether you're in Singapore for business or for pleasure, you won't be disappointed there.

Easily the best smelling hotel in the world and it's not even close. Rooms are great and like other intercons the bathrooms is stocked with Agraria lemon verbena toiletries. Rooms are beautiful, king sized bed has great sheets. The gym is on par with other hotel gyms in Singapore, which is to say it's a tad small compared to an intercon in the US. Very solid hotel and good value for money.

For the log cakes this year, the new Gula Melaka Chendol Log Cake tasted the best out of the three types available in slices. This coconut-cream coated cake had just the right balance of the fragrant Gula Melaka in both the mousse and the sponge, making it difficult to stop at one slice. The traditional Valrhona Chocolate Logcake (available each xmas) was mediocre and the sparse amount of chocolate pearls did not help to enhance the texture. The Rum and Raisin Log cake was both good and bad. The rum mousse stood out with sufficient rum taste but the raisins were plain and the vanilla custard centre had too much gelatine and became chewier than a marshmallow.

World Class service by attractive concierge, amazing hotel restaurant food, bedazzled art work, glistening room with fine sheets and bedroom slippers, a bath and shower dream, a pool for dipping, genuine friendliness not the transparent kind and... the most convenient spot to be since you're near Bugis Mall and Arab Street. Singapore is the "cleanest country in the world" and this hotel is a precedent as to why. If I could choose to live in only a hotel for the rest of my life... well I'd have to think about but I'd put this as a top three candidate (my stay in Greece would probably win).

Wonderful hotel! I'm on a long stay in singapore and I couldn't imagine a better place to be. Everything from the smile and polite greeting from every staff member you encounter to all the great amenities included with our stay. The room and views are incredible and the pool is perfect for a day you just want to unwind. Connected to a large mall full of shopping and dining, and just as close to the MRT station. The only thing you will regret about your stay at the Intercontinental Singapore is not staying longer!

After a long day of travel I arrived in Singapore and checked into my hotel. I have stayed here multiple times over the years and with good reason. Everything runs like a well maintained machined. As I stepped out of my cab my bags were instantly taken by the luggage porters and I was given a ticket for them. Entering the lobby I was directed to the check-in counter where a employee started processing things right away. As someone that stays here frequently I am part of their rewards program ( InterContinental Ambassador hotel loyalty program) which provides for an automatic upgrade if free rooms are available. This gave me a nice room on the 14 floor with a view. The room itself is just great, with a comfortable bed that has luxurious pillows, a huge TV, free WIFI, and all the normal amenities that you would expect form a 4 star hotel. There is high speed internet available at a cost and it is very fast, but the free plan is just fine for basic internet surfing. The bathroom is setup a bit different that what you would see in the US, with the shower and bathtub completely separate. The bathtub is fairly deep and has a seat molded into it and 2 sturdy handles on each side to assist with getting in and out. I soaked in the tub to get some kinks out and then stepped into the shower with the initial idea to just rinse off. A massive amount of water pressure changed my mind and I stood in the hot water for quite a while. Breakfast was included in my reservation so I made sure to stop by the Olive tree restaurant. The breakfast buffet runs from 0600 to 1000 and has a wide variety of choices. Singapore has a lot of different types of visitors so they are sure to clearly mark items such as Pork or strictly vegetarian. There are other choices such as upscale Japanese and Chinese restaurants which I didn't use this stay, but I have in the past. Light bar fair is available in the lounge which also features live entertainment in the evening. Last night it was a piano player and a woman with a deep sultry voice. Another perk of the hotel is location. It is directly connected the the Bugis Junction mall with doors on the first floor of the hotel. The mall is pretty good and has a variety of shopping and eating choices. There are also several movie theaters on the top floor. The basement is mostly more food choices ranging from KFC to quality sushi. There is a pharmacy and supermarket at this level which is a good place to grab supplies instead of hitting the mini bar. You can also access the local subway system without stepping outside as it is one more level down from the basement food court.

Let me preface this rather negative review with a statement that in general most IHG Intercontinental properties are much better and have earned a 4 or 5 star customer rating from me in the past. Before I being this review let me preface that I have been a Royal Ambassador with the Intercontinental group for over 15 years. Each year I average about 80 to 120 nights stay. That being said, I don't necessarily feel that the hotel chain should give any preferential treatment outside their policy guarantees. The hotel itself is a good property. The issue is with their staff training and management training. I can only believe there has been a movement to drastically increase profitability over the last several years as a reason for their terrible customer service and policy behavior. Most recently I pre-booked a room nearly 60 days before the stay. The pre-booked rate was 356SGD. After staying in this property for over 10 years year after year this is a normal rate for this hotel. The issue was when the rate dropped for several days to about 306 for the same room. I contacted the hotel to inform them of the rate drop. In 100% of the cases when I do this they adjust the rate to the currently published rate. However in this case they wrote the following : Dear Mr Kim, Greetings from InterContinental Singapore! With regards to your query on the room rate for your stay on the 9 May, kindly note that all hotels now have dynamic pricing structure (similar to airlines) whereby the prices change due to a variety of factors. In this case the price was lower compared to when you made the booking, however if you check today, the price is over S$ 306++ (IHG Club Special). When you had made the booking it was the advance purchase rate on that day for the 9 May. Since we have dynamic pricing, if the rates go up, we do not amend and charge a guest with existing booking a higher price and the same principle applies if the rates go down, we do not reduce the price. I actually don't mind paying a higher rate.. the big problem was the attitude and the deceptive reasoning they gave for this. They akin-ed they policy to the "airline industry" . This seems really irrelevant and going off into obscure tangent to create a reason for their decision not to honor a lower published rate. after all they are not Airline industry experts. I also fail to see how that is germane to the topic at hand. Furthermore their reason for not honoring the lower published rate was that they in turn do not raise rates for customer that pre-purchase rooms between the time that they book the room and the time of the eventual date of the reservation. In other words, if you booked a room 60, 90, 100 or more days before the reservation and pre-payed for that room they will not raise your rates if the room rates rise as the date of actual stay approaches. So if someone else wanted that room 1 day before the stay and it was a last minute reservation adn the room was 1000 dollars they would not raise the rate for people with the same reservation that had booked the room months earlier to that "day before rate". That is a patently obvious statement as no hotel in the history of hotels would do that and it would be illegal to do so if they did. So their reason for not matching current published rates was that they don't illegally raise rates after a contractual prepaid booking?? Whats even more curious is that after the complaint which I field with their hotel management and IHG, literally no less than 30 minutes later (after having a lower published rate for almost 48 hours) the rates suddenly BURST up over 100SGD more. This is price rigging and misleading if not intentionally covering up their disingenuous behavior. I have time stamps for every email and every reply to prove this hotel management acknowledged their lower rate, refused to adjust their rate to honor their published rates at that time and immediately after being informed of the rate change within 30 minutes in the middle of the day raising all their room rates to more than cover the gap. Seoul, Tokyo, Bejing, Dubai, Los Angeles, New york, .... all have honored lower rates if the rate fell and also have never participated in first not accepting responsibility and secondly never engaged in justifying such behaviour with such terribly constructed excuses. I hope this review will get them to examine their processes and policies and employee communication as well as their training. Until they make the appropriate adjustment this behavior will only continue to further damage and diminish their brand value.

The Intercontinental hotel is a great place to stay in Singapore - centrally located, near great food and shopping. What I liked the most about the hotel is its size - not too big and not too small, but very intimate. The staff does a great job making you feel important and are very helpful with anything you need.

Good location with the expected metropolitan five-star hotel amenities: excellent restaurant, charming cafe with outstanding bakery/chocolate candies, enticing rooftop pool, and comfortable rooms. The attached shopping mall and lower level grocery store were great bonuses. Still, I deducted a star for an underwhelming lobby/arrival area, efficient but somewhat perfunctory service, and lackluster decor in our standard guest room. Nevertheless, our stay was very comfortable, everything worked properly and considering the great deal we found online, we absolutely got our money's worth. I stayed for 3 days/2 nights and enjoyed a late night snack in the lobby one night and another delicious snack poolside on my last day (both were excellent foie gras appetizers, since we no longer can get this delicacy in California). I also took advantage of the complimentary business office service that allowed me to print my updated cruise ship boarding documents. I walked nearly everywhere from the hotel: Little India, Raffles, Chijmes, and Esplanade Park. Walking to the Singapore flyer and Marina Bay Sands Resort was a bit further but doable. I also think it's best to cab it or take public transportation to Orchard Street, Robertson Quay, and Chinatown though I managed to walk to each & hired a ride back!

Beautiful hotel interior. Convenient location in downtown, Bugis district, about 1mi away from the Orchard Rd shopping district and marina bay. Classy place - nice amenities. Fairly pricey for their basic room, even with a discounted rate ($225US/$290SGD), including taxes. I stayed on second floor in the older wing, accessible only by stairs in an off part of the hotel, above the traffic intersection below. King bed, 27" tv, avg sized tub, separate shower room. The room could definitely use some love for a 5* hotel - MOSTLY clean floor, but dated bathroom and furnishings, walls have scuffs, one window, and a small, barely effective mini refrigerator, hardwood floor. The complimentary in-room wifi is quick enough to Skype and download/upload files/photos. I stayed 24-26Dec 2014. Great service from hotel staff. The breakfast buffet is extensive, but no WOW-factor. $12SGD coffee in the lounge, yikes. $12 or $16SGD Heineken in the lounge, too. Heaven forbid you order a decent beer... In sum, 3.5 stars. I think it was overpriced and wouldn't return, considering there are 'modern' hotels for $120-$170US per nite which are great and in convenient locations. I think this is more of a landmark place with older architecture and history. If wanting a place in similar cost or higher side, I would consider Pan Pacific or Raffles next time, otherwise just grab a solid hotel in the Orchard area with similar amenities for cheaper.

High tea on Sunday The quality and quantity does not warrant the price ($38 per person). They refresh the tea, but not the food. The wifi is only for guests or is chargeable. Service is okay, but not great. Also the food quality does not compare to other teas, eg. Fullerton.
