The Most Affordable MICHELIN Key Hotels in Japan

"Positioned beside the landmark Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in the city’s lively waterfront area, this One MICHELIN Key hotel is described as one of Yokohama’s most distinguished addresses, with rates beginning at USD 275. Its sleek, contemporary accommodations open onto sweeping views of Yokohama Bay and its iconic bridge, and the setting in a historic port city brings a blend of Eastern and Western influences reflected in both architecture and the surrounding food scene. Direct access to the Hammerhead Shopping Mall, nearby boutiques, and family-friendly attractions makes it an exceptional base for exploring Yokohama from day to night." - Angie Thien

InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Occupying a sizable portion of Yokohama’s Pier 8 development, the InterContinental is one of the city’s top luxury hotels, and not an unstylish one — its design echoes the maritime colors of its harbor setting. The views are impressive, taking in the city lights, the bay bridge, the Ferris wheel and the marine traffic, all complemented by décor in blonde, driftwood, and aquamarine tones. The business facilities are naturally first-rate, and diners can find almost anything they desire within the Hammerhead Shopping Mall located in the same facility, with a ramen house, a pizzeria, New American and more." - Tablet Hotels

Intercontinental Yokohama Pier 8. Stayed for one night on 21 Nov 2025. This is a rather new hotel compare to its peer, Intercontinental Grand Yokohama, which is a 5min walk away along the bay area. The hotel is modern and right on Pier 8. We had a room that overlook the bay, with a crane in front of our room. It’s a beautifully design hotel and room. Club Intercontinental feels really exclusive serving both hot and cold food. Soma was of great help when we arrived for afternoon tea. She got us a window view table and we enjoyed a great view while having our tea dishes. There’s a roof top area where guest can enjoy a great view of the bay. We strolled around the bay and enjoyed the various actibities, including there weekend markets, red brick building, etv. Overall a great hotel to stay in. We will love to come back soopn.

Google
Phenomenal Service and Hotel overall. I travel quite a bit, and I don’t bother to write reviews. But this time I felt I had to. I’m a IHG diamond member and I booked a Deluxe King. Hotel personnel took our luggage at the door, guided us to the reception. We got upgraded to VIP suite. Luggage were sent strait to the room. Room is immaculate, bathroom is tech Asa y, shower has a glass wall open into room. I have been in Conrads, JW Marriots and still super impressed. For the Value you getting, especially if you have status, spend a few days here to get the Jet lag off before you hit the city.

Located at the Pier and 5-10 min walk to the Red Brick Warehouse. There's a Christmas Market there and nearby at Minatomirai. Being a bit off the usual busy locations, it's nice and peaceful.||Rooms were rather new and well appointed! I had a Courtyard facing room and believe me, it's calm and tranquil. Not saying it's better than the pier or minatomirai view but I truly enjoyed the room.||Service was impeccable and personifies the Japanese etiquette. Will be back when in Yokohama.

The room and service were top notch. I booked 3 nights at the hotel and informed the hotel ahead of time of expected arrival as my flight arrived around 4/5 am. I arrived at the hotel around 7 am. I was a little confused as the 1st floor is not where the check-in desk is. Since it was before 9 am, the doors didn't open automatically. So I looked around the building for another entrance to realize I had to ring the bell. The rest of the stay was smooth sailing. I was checked in and addressed by name before I even offered it to the front desk agent. ||The room itself is large and gorgeous. With a spacious sitting area and large dining table, my guest and I spent a lot of time in this room due to the July heat and jet lag. It allowed each of us to have our own space and relax. There were Japanese treats upon arrival, and I love that non-alcoholic drinks in the fridge were free. There is a wet room for shower and bath. The bathtub is deep enough if you want to have a relaxing soak. The toilet was separate and had a short and small sink to wash your hands. ||There is a 7-11 within the complex, part of the Hammerhead mall. It was nice to have that a few steps away as it was convenient to grab a bite to eat as it was way too hot to venture far. The complex is also connected via a skybridge (5 minute walk) to the World Porters mall. ||The staff and service were very helpful and accommodating. I inquired with the front desk about booking a last minute room for a friend. Some staff have limited English proficiency, but I was able to communicate via Google Translate. My friend did end up booking a room the day of check-in. Because she was traveling alone with a baby, she asked to be booked on the same floor as me. Initially one desk agent said that wouldn't be possible, but another agent stepped in to move some guests around to make it happen. ||I did not get to try the onsite restaurants. I did visit the gym. It just had cardio equipment and no weights. They do keep the hallways a little too warm for my liking, but a lot of public spaces in Japan like airports tend to be too warm for my liking. But I would 1000% stay here again.

Google
One of the best InterContinental I've stayed. Personalised and more boutique feel. Tastefully designed and location was excellent. They even catered to our Halal Requirement. Adhikara went out of her way to ensure everything went smoothly.

We stayed at this hotel from November 4th to 6th. My cousin and I stayed here, and what can I say, the hotel is fantastic and the location is excellent. I recommend it especially for those who want to visit Yokohama but also Tokyo. We often had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and all the staff were wonderful. A special thanks to Mr. Hagiwara for his wonderful empathy!

Google
Service and cleanliness is top notch.Location is slightly inconvenient since there is not train station nearby.Parking is not 24hours for self parking. Only limited to valet parking at 2000yen/day with operating hours from 9AM-8PM, outside of these hours you cannot collect your car if you would like to go out, or you cannot park within the hotel carpark, you can only park at the nearest outdoor public paying carpark nearby (with no cap on the maximum charges per night).Breakfast is not a true buffet spread. It is a selection of 1 main course / pax, with fruit juice, cereals, selection of breads, and salads as the buffet. Main course portion is rather small, so do take note if you're a heavy eater for breakfast.

Hotel services and cleanliness is too notch without a doubt. Amenities wise is rather limited as there is no access to 24 hours self parking. Parking at hotel is only limited to valet services which is between 9AM-8PM. Anytime out of these hours, you will have to park at the nearest open space public paying carpark (which do not have a capped on the maximum charge per day). Breakfast choice is not really BUFFET. Its is by the choice of 1 selected main course. The buffet spreads are only some salads, cereals, fruit juices and selections of bread and condiments. Choices of main is not repeatable even if you feel the portion is not enough for you.Trip.com needs to update or make clear that its not a full buffet breakfast spread.

Yelp
It was my first time traveling to Japan. I had heard about Yokohama through my husband, who is an avid PS5 gamer and had explored its virtual streets while playing Yakuza. Seeing the Yokohama Ferris Wheel and experiencing the vibrant energy of this city in person exceeded all our expectations and left a lasting impression on both of us. Our stay at this hotel made it even better! From the moment we stepped into the grand lobby, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the staff. We are loyal IHG platinum members and we were so delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade to two Single Classic rooms with mesmerizing Minatomirai views. The sight of the Yokohama Ferris Wheel, the harbor and the city skyline from our room was really great and very relaxing. The room itself was a haven of comfort, cleanliness and elegance, with luxurious furnishings, modern amenities, great use of wood and thoughtful interior. It was also very spacious! The bed was extra firm and I was worried I will not be able to sleep well but I had the best sleep of my life. Though we only spent a night here, the attentive staff, Mr. Honma, Mr. Maeda, and Ms. Maeda at the front desk, ensured that every aspect of our visit was seamless and enjoyable. Their professionalism and dedication to providing exceptional service truly stood out, further enhancing our overall experience. Additionally, our experience was further elevated by the unparalleled service provided by Kikumi san. When it was time for us to depart and head to Haneda airport, Kikumi san went above and beyond to assist us in booking a taxi. Her warmth, thoroughness, and attentiveness made the process seamless and stress-free, leaving a lasting impression of hospitality and care. Eventhough our stay was short and sweet, we will bring with us great memories from this trip. We are very grateful for the excellent hospitality we received. Our stay reaffirmed why we choose IHG properties time and time again, and we eagerly look forward to returning in the future.
