Beautiful and still fairly new hotel. The toto toilet is nice and Simmons semi firm bed is comfortable. Rooms are spacious and stunning. Sliding doors open for fresh air, though sometimes an industrial seabreeze comes in. We were given a room with view but there are cruise ships, carrier and trucks outside. The rooms and hallways smell of industrial exhaust in the morning, which is a pity. Breakfast is a disappointment with small portions. Instead of this a la carte set menu order, they should really have an extensive buffet people are accustomed to. I prefer to choose what is on my plate, instead of having a set menu of things I am not quite fond of and yet felt obligated to eat and only one piece of vegetable I would like to eat more of. They have a salad, yogurt, fruit, pastries buffet set out but it wasn’t up to par with what I was expecting for a 5 star hotel. Please spend some money on quality fruit. What is this canned stuff, and no berries to offer? Everything is yellow and orange and bland. The pastry section was sad as well. I chose the Japanese set menu and would not order it again. The quality of the spread seemed poor and tamago egg was too sweet. I wanted tea however when I picked up the teapot- it was cheap acrylic. Hot tea in plastic will expose you to bisphenol A. Club lounge however is fantastic with tuna sashimi, smoked duck, the tender beef everyone was talking about. Another night had the hot set menu of scallop, slice of lamb with clam chowder and risotto. Divine. Decent offerings and extensive drink section. Edit: I got food poisoning and threw up everything I ate in the evening lounge! Be careful! I think it was the unrefrigerated tuna sashimi. Would be fantastic if they can install a purified water refill in the hotel for guests, instead of canned water. Taxi from Yokohama is 1800. Staff here are pleasant and friendly!

Due to a medical emergency, our stay at the hotel was extended by 9 days. Before we were to board a cruise ship, hubby was hospitalized early in the morning. The hotel staff took care of everything and moved our things to another comparable room (the only real difference was the size of the shower - smaller - which was fine). Everyone took such good care of me, always asking how he was, even giving me hugs when I was feeling sad. Sweet notes left in our room, with tiny origami accents, and even a beautiful bouquet of flowers on his return. Every staff member we encountered when he returned welcomed him back! They really go out of their way to take care of each guest at this hotel. So nice to see smiling faces everywhere you go. As for the hotel itself, it is beautiful! Starting from the first floor with it's impressive spiral staircase, to the rooftop garden with it's walkway almost fully encircling the hotel, everything is clean, neat, and simply elegant. The rooms are a bit Japanese and a bit American in style - everything we love, as well as Japanese bath accents (bidet, and a separate soaking tub). The views from both rooms we stayed in were great, and the restaurant's food was very good, with both American and Japanese choices. All staff were well versed in English, and we had no problem conversing. We plan on returning to Japan at some time in the future, and we definitely will be staying at the IHG Intercontinental Yokohama Pier 8!

Our stay was amazing! Hubby had a medical emergency, and the staff took such good care of us while we were there. Switched my room while I dealt with hospital issues, then made sure I had a taxi each day and whenever I needed it. Sent beautiful flowers and notes to us in our room. The room was beautiful, well stocked with amenities, tea, coffee, drinks, etc. Very comfortable bedding, a gorgeous view! Food was great - loved the breakfast!

We stayed here after a long flight from the states prior to a cruise. The hotel is fantastic. The staff are exceptional and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and quiet. It has a beautiful view of the harbor. We declined an upgrade to the zen garden but that was lovely as well. (It would be a relatively easy walk to the cruise port but we chose a taxi which cost about $20 USD as our two bags were large and relatively heavy. This part of the review is just for informational purposes if people are curious about the cruise port) Truly a fantastic hotel and we would highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel & excellent staff service from check-in to check-out. Great amenities & location with great food & shopping. Room was modern and it was clean and calming. All the hotel staff were welcoming & the hotel is in the same building as Japanese customs clearing from cruise port so definitely very convenient. The Executive Lounge was beautiful but lots of children running around handling buffet items & food with their hands was very concerning. Ordered from menu instead which cost ¥10,000 for 2 people. That was a bit surprising & unexpected but the service was excellent.

Absolutely Excellent! If there were a level beyond excellence, Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts Yokohama Pier 8 would deserve it! The hotel is spotlessly clean, elegantly modern, and every staff member welcomes you with genuine warmth and impeccable hospitality. Luxury hotels are expected to provide great service, but this one truly goes the extra mile. A perfect example: On a rainy day as we were heading to the airport, we simply asked if there was a taxi stop to take us to their sister hotel for the limo bus. Instead of just pointing us in the right direction, they went above and beyond—arranging a private ride to ensure we wouldn’t get wet in the cold rain. That level of care and attention is what sets this hotel apart. From start to finish, every moment at this hotel was seamless, thoughtful, and luxurious. I can’t wait to return—highly recommended!

This was my first time staying at a 5 star luxury hotel of this caliber and the experience did not disappoint. The staff was so attentive from checkin to checkout. Room was HUGE for Japan standards. It is easily double or triple the size of a 5 star room you would get in Tokyo. Bathroom was completely modern and aesthetically pleasing. Also, there is an awesome view of Yokohama harbor at night. I had a couple of Japanese friends come over to hangout in the room and they were all very impressed and taken aback by how luxurious the room was. It’s close to festivities, events and shopping at Aka-Renga soko. If given the chance, I would stay at InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 again without any hesitation.

We stayed here for 2 nights pre-cruise. Lovely location with easy walking along the waterfront. It was super close to the Cruise Port. We opted for executive lounge and had terrific service. I would suggest more variety for cold evening appetizers and perhaps a few more true desserts for late night. However, we had a great experience. The staff were very attentive.
