"Cheshire Bridge’s go-to Greek bakery comes with a slight challenge: the curmudgeonly owner, who often intimidates customers enough to delay their orders. Of course, the risk is worth the reward, which in this case includes notoriously good baklava, cannolis that show a mastery of cream, and jewel-toned Italian butter cookies." - Sarra Sedghi

I ordered a cheesecake with fruit over the phone. Took my order on Thursday or Friday I believe and had it ready when I got there on Sunday morning. The cheesecake was delicious! My whole family loved it and the leftovers disappeared very quickly. It was also beautifully presented and reasonably priced ($45). Served 15.

Have been going here my whole life I absolutely love this place with my whole heart and always recommend it to people! Recommend the fruit cakes and tarts it’s always so fresh and so moist and delicious! The baklava is also very good and the imported feta is my family’s favorite! It’s great to see a family owned business still around serving quality 🫶🫶🫶

Google
It's rare to find an old school bakery with such rich history in Atlanta with the original owner still working hard post-retirement age. This place is more than a bakery; it's a testament to a life dedicated to the art of baking and making customers feel like family. The baklava and apple turnover were truly perfect. He offers a ton of services (cakes, breads, treats, and all sorts of baked goods) and is reasonably priced. I will definitely be back. This place is truly a local hidden gem! This man deserves major credit and respect for the long established business he's maintained. I'm sure he's seen some things on Cheshire bridge! Very memorable visit. Thank you!

Google
What it used to be a fav place to grab-and-go dessert 🍮 , is not longer the same. The selection I have bought lately does not taste fresh. You feel it at the first bite. Are the ingredients have been substituted ? How perishable are they ? How long are kept in the fridge ?

I read all the bad reviews and I take it that the "Americans" don't understand how difficult it is for this old man to navigate his world. It's a very busy store. He's probably been robbed more than once. He's trying to check people out and make sure everything is okay and he's old and grumpy like many old people are. Not very customer service oriented but he has a really good variety of Greek foods. He has the best price of feta cheese and he carries olive oil from Crete which is really good olive oil. I am Greek and having been to Greece and gone in small stores, his misdemeanor is not much different. I think many Greek store owners are rude, especially in Greece. Perhaps if he was approached with a little kindness. When I go in there I try to smile and ask him how he is. He doesn't know me. I've been there three, four times and I'm going again soon but he doesn't know me. Hundreds of people go through there. I personally make it my business to be extra kind because you don't know what the other person is going through in their life. It's easy to say that he's rude but it's harder to go out of your way and be kind. Any number of these people who gave him a one-star review, if they were just kind and went out of their way to do so, he would show some kindness as well. And I'm sure he doesn't bake most of the things that are in his store. Most of these stores purchase from Greek vendor/bakers. So when he gives you a blank stare because you ask him what's in the cake, he doesn't know what's in the cake, probably. Perhaps he should know, but he doesn't know everything. He does not make all those baked goods. When stores buy wholesale to resell, most of those goods come from a bake shop in Florida TARPON SPRINGS. That's where the best Greek pastry shop is and probably where his goods come from. I think he's just lost in this world and he's doing the best he can. I'm looking forward to shopping there again soon!!! Wish I lived closer, I would go more often. I pass through several times a year. Remember, it's harder to be kind and easy to judge. And we're all going to get old like that too.

I love this small Greek bakery. It hasn't changed in 20-30 years: the spanakopita, tiropita, mushroom pastry, galaktoboureko, and baklava etc. are all still excellent. Their cakes are said to be very good as well, though I've not tried them. A classic!

I grab a cannoli for my wife and I every time I get a haircut nearby. I love this place. Glad to see places like this still exist in Atlanta

Google
Walking into this place was like walking into a wonderland of deliciousness lol I felt like a little kid, that's how big my eyes got 👀 My coworker shared her spanakopita with me (a phyllo pastry stuffed with spinach and feta cheese) and it was AMAZING so I had to check the place out myself. The choices are innumerable, both savory and sweet. I'll have to make a few trips back to try more of what caught my eye. Today, I tried the spanakopita (also known as "spinach pie" according to the sign on the wall), mushroom pie (a stuffed phyllo pastry also), a cream horn, some mini cream puffs, and a tart. 😳 My kids are gonna go nuts when I take them here. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
My favourite #1 spot for all my Greek desserts, hands down they cannot be touch love this place I've being going for years.

Yelp
This is a must try place! Support Small Local Business Owners!! It sucks to see that the bridge being down has affected this business, but they still do not fall short. All the cookies, pies, pastries, and cannolis are to die for. Everything is so good!! The service is a little slow and dry, not a lot of talking, but the overall experience is great. The space in the front of the store is very tight, and a lot of things are sort of pilled on top of one another, so you may have to dig around to find stuff. Really good bakery! Highly Recommend.

Char M.

Yelp
Cake was delicious! Nice glaze on top, and the strawberry filling on the inside is perfect! -1 star because the older man taking the order was a bit standoffish/rude...But the cake was amazing! I had to place the order a day in advance.

Jane Y.

Yelp
Customer service was fast. He was not particular talkative/friendly which I don't mind. The baklava and spinach pie were fantastic taste wise but just a bit soggy and lacked the flakiness I love. The almond crescents were the best I have had in a while and the tiramisu was a different take then what I was used to. It was a bit more plain and didnt have the bottom coffee layer I am used to. Overall, I would come back for those crescents!

Frances P.

Yelp
First of all, I'm a huge supporter of local business. Speaking with the owner, he has been in the US for 50 years. His 6 brothers and 2 sisters are all in Greece but he came to America to live out his dream. Him and his wife run this small bakery and everything in there looks delicious. Looking forward to returning again!

B Z.

Yelp
The variety and quality of the cakes and other grocery items along with the friendly service will keep me coming back. It has a nice local shop feel.

Carlie M.

Yelp
This is some of the best baklava I've had in atlanta! I stopped by this past Saturday morning to pick some up because Ive been craving some recently. They have lots of pastry options if bakalava isn't your thing. I got the traditional baklava and a lady finger baklava. 3 pieces were just under $5. So tasty! So many layers and tasted so fresh! Highly suggest this spot!

Olivia R.

Yelp
Amazing desserts, pastries, and baked goods. The baklava was PHENOMENAL. Flaky, deliciousness packed with yummy filling. Also grabbed a cheese pastry and eclair-- my dad is an eclair fanatic and he was beyond impressed with his new favorite eclair. Overall, great experience with the gentleman at the front and amazing desserts

Tristan M.

Yelp
Lovely family bakery. Would highly recommend if you are in the area and want a sweet treat!

Yelp
I've always been curious about the International Bakery next door to Taqueria del Sol and one day we thought, why not. The bakery was quiet but the food and decor was like a loud supermarket, just without all the noise. I've never craved Greek desserts before but I was intrigued since they all looked so beautiful. I limited myself to only two, and we ended up getting a mini cream puff and a fruit tart. The mini cream puff was SO cute I couldn't resist. There was WAY too much cream (although, is that ever REALLY a bad thing?). The fruit tart wasn't the easiest dessert to eat or share, but definitely a pretty dessert and also pretty tasty. The guy at the counter was quiet and left us alone while we shopped and decided. Not especially helpful but I didn't mind being left to my own devices!! If I'm ever in the area again with a sweet tooth, I can imagine myself stopping back in for another treat - however, I'm not sure I would go out of my way for it, especially since I live much closer to another local Greek bakery!

Alex R.

Yelp
This place is a great place to get your cakes form, I always order my cakes ahead of time. The owner is nice and friendly the staff are Also super friendly. The ambiance in at this location I would consider is small and cozy.

Mel N.

Yelp
Always a favorite of mine because George the baker/owner is consistently good! He keeps the price the same for years and is the same post and pre-Covid! More people need to visit this amazing bakery everything in his bakery is always good I have not tasted anything I didn't like! George has been there ever since I've been to Atlanta which is been20+ years that I have been able to enjoy what is bakery business focus and owner of that Business should be-he just wants to offer amazingly good bakery goods!

Maylin V.

Yelp
I love their fruit tarts! My son loves their chocolate cakes I think they are. The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because the old man at the register is pretty rude.. I mean I don't really mind but if you're a sensitive person you definitely wouldn't like it here. I live like 40 minutes away and I'll still drive to go get some of those amazing fruit tarts.

Jack H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem, located just north of the bridge on Cheshire Bridge Road. It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but inside is an old-school Greek bakery where pastries and cookies are made by George and his wife with love. I always order the spanakopita and the baklava. My wife absolutely loves their eclairs, generously filled with vanilla custard and topped with awe-inspiring chocolate icing. Very highly recommended.

L B.

Yelp
My favorite, neighborhood bakery. The chocolate dipped macaroons are fantastic, as are all the bakery items. Grocery items are well curated. The owners are wonderful people.

George P.

Yelp
The best place to go for Greek pastries very nice and professional people and very good Greek cheese

Eric R.

Yelp
Good customer service, great tasting food. You feel like a kid in candy shop if you have a sweet tooth.

Terrill M.

Yelp
Let me tell you about one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta. It is hands down, this bakery. Nestled in the same strip as Domino's, they have some of the best pastries you can put in your mouth. From a lemon cake with mouse filling, to cheesecake topped with a sliced strawberry, to baklava. Food is half taste, half presentation. And their desserts taste as good, if not better, than they look. I'll definitely be back.

Kerry C.

Yelp
We have tried a variety of breads, desserts and prepared meal items from The International Bakery and everything has been delicious. The fresh breads are amazing. They have a great variety of unique international products, including the most incredible baked black olives. The store is clean, staff is friendly, and the prices are good. I love supporting a locally owned business that is run by a family that is very active and generous in our community. Five stars!

Glen W.

Yelp
Well you just can't make baklava better. So good and reasonable. Nice selection of pastries other than baklava. Spanakopita is great.

Nailah I.

Yelp
The fruit cake is so soft and just the right amount of sweet. The danish wedding cookies are a must as well. Everything is fresh and delicious. Family owned and they've been there forever. If you haven't checked them out definitely make a stop!

Kelsea L.

Yelp
Cute little bakery - really yummy baklava And super nice cakes!! The one in the picture was $27 and is a very light whipped icing with fresh fruit.

Alex h.

Yelp
I would highly recommend this bakery . They are a locally owned family business. The food here is delicious and freshly made everyday . They have fresh spinach , mushroom , or cheese pies made fresh every morning and they cost less than 2$ which is an steal for what you get. I would recommend getting the almond biscottis because they might be the best biscottis that I have every had . Defiantly trumps the single individual biscottis that you can buy. The prices are very reasonable and everything is made fresh. What more could you ask for?

Milton H.

Yelp
Our stops here are always preceded by lunch at Taqueria del Sol - two doors away. When I first discovered this Bakery, I mentioned it to a Greek friend. He immediately recognized the place and told me how they provide the baklava at most Middle Eastern restaurants in metro Atlanta. It is obvious why. Here the baklava is delicious and reasonably priced. Tuesday, I decided to try a large eclair. It was delicious and also reasonably priced. My favorite is still the baklava. My wife stuck with the baklava and was happy with it, as we knew she would be.

Elisabeth C.

Yelp
I will never get to know how good the baked goods are here because the grumpy old man behind the register was so rude to me that I walked out of the store in under a minute. I wanted to order a platter of cannoli & some cookies for my father's funeral. A little kindness would have been appreciated.

Nina S.

Yelp
Small bakery/market in size but packed with a lot of authentic Greek goodies. Their desserts are most delicious with the exception of their kataifi. I'm a kataifi (sine childhood) fan of and to my disappointment it was the worst I've had. It wasn't wrapped in the authentic kataifi shredded phyllo but in some kind of wheat..eek, not good!

Lindsay W.

Yelp
If I have one regret it was the regret of driving past this place day in and day out and never stopping in to see what they had to offer. I see the "OPEN" sign at 8 AM so I have no excuse. I went yesterday....and today...and will most likely be back tomorrow. Yesterday I had the most delightful coconut maccaroon that was dipped in chocolate on the base. This thing was the size of my hand. When you bit into it, it was like biting into what I imagine being a coconut cloud. It was so much fluffier than I imagined it would be. It had a perfect texture and sweetness to it. I also got a piece of Baklava because its a Greek bakery. That is what you do. It was dripping in the syrup and was flaky and magical....and a little messy. So good that I had to return again. Today I mixed it up. I got a lb of cookies (almond lace and pretzel looking shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkles), a sesame snack bar, dark chocolate black forrest cake slice and a Spinach pastry. I ate the spinach pastry which was like Spanikopita and it was OMG divine!!!! The cookies were shared among the friends and fam and are so good! The sesame snack was so sweet and delish. I will save the cake for later. Guess what? All of this today was $13!!! The prices are amazing! If you see Tacqueria Del Sol, it is to the left. No big sign, but so worth stopping in.

M B.

Yelp
Unbelievable. Astonishing bakery of the old school variety. Live this place and hope to go back soon. We loved the chocolate coated raspberry browny, the almond crescent and the eclair. Wow.

Samantha W.

Yelp
Great, fresh international pastry options. The extras I had for an event stayed tasty for severalndays after. Very little conversation, so don't be put off. It was a reminder that I can be chatty and people working have other things to do.

Pamela L.

Yelp
This place has been on my list and I finally made it on Monday. I have been craving a tasty pastry and this spot did not fail. Since it was my 1st time I decided to brouse and weigh my options. I decided on the chocolate brownie, apple turnover and a slice of spinach pie. I couldn't wait to get home and let me tell ya....I will be back. The brownie was fudgy on the inside and had that crust on the outside. The apple turnover and spinach pie were light, flakey and melted in my mouth. I would have ordered a slice of cake but you must be the whole thing. My sweet tooth has now been taken care of and I will return.

Kjersti K.

Yelp
I was honestly blown away by this place. I stopped in not knowing what to expect and was amazed by the huge selection of pastries, baked goods, cakes, and even savory pastries. They have a HUGE selection. This would be a great spot to get a cake for a celebration or order a big tray of baked goods for an event. I got a chocolate chip cookie and was so impressed. It was a large, soft, fresh chocolate chip cookie - the best I've found in Atlanta! This is a hidden gem. You must check it out!

Eniola I.

Yelp
A very small cute shop. The food was sweet and fresh. The cheesecake baklava was a odd but oddly satisfying pairing

Atula D.

Yelp
International Bakery (sign reads InterBAKERYnational), is an old fashioned bakery, featuring various bakery items like cakes ( full size or per piece), tarts, pies, cookies, bread, croissant, brownies, cream puffs, Greek specialties and so on. I was having a craving for something sweet and after searching for bakeries on Yelp, thought of giving this place with such good reviews a try. It is located on Cheshire Bridge Road (if it helps, it is on the same lane as Little Bangkok and just next to Taqueria del sol). Ambiance: It's a small old fashioned bakery with bakery items on display to pick up or choose and check out at the counter for carry- out only. Taste: Placed the following order: 1.Baklava (available per piece or pack of 18 piece etc):They were delicious with rich dry fruits filling, being crispy, flaky with perfect level of sweetness. I picked up the triangle shaped Baklava. They also have ladyfingers shaped and tart shaped Baklava available. 2.Tiramisu cake(piece): it is a tiramisu flavored 2 layered cake. The cake was spongy and the frosting fresh with the ideal Tiramisu flavor. 3.Coconut mousse cake (piece): 2 layer spongy cake with coconut mousse frosting. Tasted good. 4.Fruit (cake) tart: This was a delectable tart. The tart was firm and the filling was creamy, topped with fresh strawberries and kiwi. The above pieces of cakes/rectangular pastries cost somewhere around $2.75 each. Service: The staff was friendly, helpful and polite to answer my queries regarding items available. Overall, I liked everything that I ordered. Of what I ordered, Baklava were certainly the best. Cakes here might not be the best you ever had, but they provide you a delightful feeling/taste of a spongy home baked cake with fresh frosting. Tastes comforting. I would love to visit here again to try other bakery products they offer. Price is quite reasonable. Taking into account the old fashioned style of this bakery and the range of bakery products they offer, I would recommend this bakery to give it a try at least once.

Daniel B.

Yelp
International Bakery is a Greek bakery located in the same strip mall as and next door to Taqueria del Sol on Cheshire Bridge Road. This is an old-fashioned bakery that's been in Atlanta's Lindridge-Martin Manor neighborhood for years. The small shop is stocked to the gills with all sorts of breads, pastries, tarts, cakes, cookies, snacks, and various Greek food products. The owner is an older, gruff, no-nonsense man whose shop has created quite a following. Two cakes were brought in from International Bakery for an office function. They were both fruit cream cakes. I'm pretty sure this is one of the store's bestselling cakes. The circular cakes were topped with slices of strawberry and kiwi. The outer edges were coated with sliced almonds. The cake tasted fresh and delicious. The slices were moist and delicate, the cream was light and fluffy, and the fruit was ripe and sweet. There was a thin layer of smooth, transparent gelatin on top which seemed to seamlessly meld the fruit to the cake. Each cake was $20 and fed 12-16. They have what appears to be smaller, single-size servings of this cake in one of their display cases. Strawberry, kiwi, and cream. Other well sought-after baked goods include baklava, cannoli, and spanokopita (Greek spinach pie). The pastries are affordably priced. They've got homemade Greek yogurt. In a fridge in the back, there are different cheeses, both Greek and Italian. Examples include imported and domestic feta, hard and soft ricotta, and kefalotiri and halloumi cheeses (some purchasable by the pound). Sort of like a mini Greek supermarket, International Bakery also carries an assortment of imported Greek food products such as Papadopoulos snacks including Miranda biscuits and Caprice wafers with chocolate and hazelnut filling. There are cartons of Amita fruit juice. Orange-apricot-apple, peach, and cherry are among the available flavors I've seen. And there are canned goods and meze (sides) such as Castella-brand Aegean baked giant beans in tomato sauce. Call ahead if placing cake or large orders. The storefront sign reads "InterBAKERYnational." Just look for "BAKERY" in all-caps neon red.

Bella I.

Yelp
Fresh baked cakes.their fruit cake is their specialty and the best in town.Every thing they make is delicious.

Saira K.

Yelp
Meh, I'm kind of over it. I quite liked this bakery, but my recent trip left me unsatisfied. On past trips, Tom the baker or his wife took my order, and despite other reviewers' complaints about their lack of kind of words, I enjoyed my little chats with them. On this trip, their daughter Georgia was at the register. She wasn't mean or anything, but very business-like as if she just wanted me to get what I want and hurry on up. Unpleasant. Their mushroom pie is still excellent! But, the cookies definitely tasted old, which is weird given that I could see Tom baking in the kitchen area. Even the baklava tasted off. Or maybe customer service makes such a difference to me.

Elle L.

Yelp
The owner is rude. I was pleasant and he had an attitude. I got a slice of tiramisu and a lady finger baklava. My baklava had a hair on it when I opened my box. The tiramisu was just ok. I wasn't overwhelmed. The rudeness of the owner won't make my decision not to return a hard one.

Josephine V.

Yelp
The owner was a bit standoff-ish, meanwhile my review has nothing to do with customer service but the pastries that I purchased. Two cannolis and a slice of Black Forest Cake and Almond Mousse. I don't know if maybe I'm so used to traditional Italian cannoli or what but they were not good what so ever. The filling was.. buttercream? Whipped cream? Whatever it was it was not what a cannoli should be filled with. Out of the two cake slices I got, Almond was the better of the two. Overall, I wasn't impressed the slightest also not to mention it's over priced for the quality. I probably won't ever make another trip out to here again :(

Michelle S.

Yelp
Hours are posted as being open on Sunday. Made a 45 minute drive to get there and they were not open. Hours open are listed on the Internet from 9:30 to 2 o'clock. No one was there. Frustrating.

Estefania G.

Yelp
I always head here if I am in the mood for some Napoleon cake. They have a great variety of sweets and you can't go wrong here. The fruit tarts are delicious as well.

Heather S.

Yelp
I was meeting my mom and sister at the Atlanta Water Garden around lunch and we wanted something to eat. I got a tray of baklava and Spanakopita. Oh my, they were delicious. The baklava filling was so nutty and sweet and the pastry was perfectly crispy. The spanakopita was the best that I've ever had. I will definitely go back when I'm in Atlanta.

Tia R.

Yelp
I frequent this place a lot and love bringing my friends as well. I love the selection of amazing desert offerings. I'm a huge fan of the wedding cookies, baklava, almond cookies and the almond cake. Today I did a little more indulging than I would normally do. Only thing, they can work on the service. But it's an older couple, local so I'll take the service offerings here because they make up for it with the goods.

Sanad A.

Yelp
It's a hidden gem in Atlanta area. It's a bakery and little market. You can order cakes for weddings and birthdays. Very helpful and responsive. Food/ pastries are very delicious and fresh. The market is squeezed in the same area of the bakery, but included a good variety of ethnic food products. They have also two tables with like 2 chairs each (if I remember correctly). Not much seating if you are going there for dessert to eat and sit. I love their tiramisu cake, fruits tart, and cannoli. Very delicious and yummy! Prices are very reasonable.

Woody W.

Yelp
A throwback style bakery, this location is owned and operated by Greek immigrants who specialize in Greek-style desserts. It also features a mini-Greek market, with imported goods that are tough to get outside of the country, including authentic cheeses that are priced better than major supermarkets. The cakes are also amazing and while the owner can be a bit of a grump at times, the goods are well worth it.

Winta S.

Yelp
The pastries are bland. The tiramisu tastes like vanilla cake, no coffee flavor at all. On the other hand, the napoleon was pretty good. However, the man was rude and not friendly at all. I felt like I was not welcome there.

Ralph C.

Yelp
This store has a nice selection of Greek packaged goods and refrigerated Greek cheeses for the curious gourmet. The bakery items are average, but good for the value. We bought a slice of plain cheesecake, which I have to describe as 'gummy' in consistency, as if it were loaded with carrageenan. I have baked cheesecakes (from 'scratch'), both creamy and N.Y. cake-like, so I am not a passive participant. The baklava is cloyingly sweet, the bottom layers completely saturated with honey syrup. Some like this, I do not. I like Shatilla baklava (mail order). I have no association with them. I liked the kataifi, but obtain better by mail, also.

Hiwot T.

Yelp
I enjoyed getting cakes there. So delicious. But the old man is disrespectful. I think they should hire someone who is people originated and can provide better customer service

Ann N.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with this place! I came in for the first time and came back three times within a week! Cakes: Fruit Cake -perfectly moist and lightly sweet with fresh fruits Almond cookies -best cookies ever! the bottom layer is soft while the almonds on top adds crunch Napoleon cake- layers of filo dough with cream. Highly recommend! Tiramisu- layered like a typical cake, tasty but not your typical tiramisu Baklava -the lady finger ones are much sweeter than the triangle shaped ones Drinks: Amita Peach -very thick, taste like actual peach rather than your typical peach clear juice Loux Lemon juice -carbonated lemon drink, very refreshing Service: The guy at the counter is not very friendly but who cares, the food is amazing. Price: Around 3 dollar per piece of cake, 1 dollar and some cents for cookies -totally worth it

Raunel U.

Yelp
Range of snacks and European food. The guy at counter wasn't that friendly. I got a cheesecake baklava and it was ehh, it was very sweet and it wasn't worth what I paid for it. The plus of this place is that they have grains and other pantry needs.

Ashley K.

Yelp
Spinach pie and baklava are pretty good. $1.25/ piece (1 triangle for baklava) is too expensive IMO but it was good. I'd probably go back.
