"How did it strike you on arrival? As with many buildings in the Central Business District, exteriors and interiors tell very different stories. In this case, both are intriguing: The facade is an ornate 12 floors of early 20th-century Beaux Arts finesse, while the lobby is a dark and sleek affair, all high ceilings, huge portraits, and oversized ottomans. Nice. What’s the crowd like? The tasteful one-block distance from the French Quarter means a slightly more mature cross section of hedonists, more likely to be testing the bartender’s cocktail knowledge than downing Jager shots. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The rooms are a symphony of creams and whites, which together with the pearl headboards reflect the natural light and make for a lovely bright sleeping space. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?I slept the sleep of ages thanks to the Simmons Beauty Rest Plush mattresses and high quality linens. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Tech-obsessed guests will appreciate the iHome stereo dock and Apple TV connector. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The spacious bathroom had a large, walk-in glass shower stocked with Aveda products. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free and as fast as any in the city. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The hotel’s bar, Loa, is one of my favourite spots. Although locals in the know swing by, it’s predominantly just hotel guests, meaning that you can luxuriate in the candlelit, shadowy ambience and meander through the drinks list. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The friendliness of the guests around the bar is on a par with the friendliness of the staff. Bottom line: worth it, and why?It consistently has some of the best value room prices in town, and its location—close to the action but far enough away to retreat and rest up—is hard to beat." - Paul Oswell

Amazing experience all around. From the original Banksy pieces in the lobby to the hospitable desk staff to the beautiful bar in the lobby—this place has it all. Not to mention, the location and pricing were unbeatable. One of the guys that runs the place Tyrone even stopped to chat with me on my way out. What a great hotel and one I’ll be frequenting when I’m down here.

My sister and I had the best experience staying at this unique & beautiful hotel. Everyone from the hotel front desk employees and housekeeping were very, very helpful. They helped with activity suggestions, restaurant recs and providing us with additional items for our rooms. Beds were super comfy and rooms were very clean. The hotel bar was nice with unique cocktails that were tasty. There is also a good breakfast restaurant a stones throw away. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Really good location, walking distance to all the popular spots. And quiet room. We stayed in the queen bed room, good enough for me and my bf and super clean. Just didn’t have anything on TV other than cable(but we didn’t mind that), bed wasn’t super comfy, and room was small. They will hold your luggage also. Had some issues and were told we could pay $50 to extend our check out time, but then they changed their minds the day of and wouldn’t let us which sucked. But overall good for couples who don’t need a lot of space and I would probably stay here again.

One of my favorite hotels in New Orleans! The morning vibe and evening vibe are totally different and both fabulous. Staff is gracious and authentic; my favorite room is the Rock Star room without the window. Super quite for a great rest!

Nestled just five minutes away from Camp Street, this boutique hotel is conveniently located near all the attractions. The atmosphere inside the hotel is charming, and the aesthetics, comfortable bed, and overall ambiance were wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. We will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I recently attended a wedding in New Orleans. The international house hotel was one of several recommended by the family. overall it’s a lovely updated, old hotel. In the lobby, there are several works by the artist Banksy. This was a lovely addition to the well decorated lobby area. Overall, the rooms are fairly small and modestly appointed, but the beds and linens are very comfortable. The bathroom is actually quite large, but possesses a small vanity. My only complaint about the bathroom was the shower door leaked. I reported it to the hotel staff and they quickly brought more towels so I could mop up the bathroom floor. Interestingly, I was able to find a better price and deal online than the wedding party had negotiated! this made me happy but it probably would’ve made other guests unhappy. Overall, a nice hotel and just off the beaten path.

This hotel was close to the heart of NOLA yet a few blocks away to be quiet at night. We had a very comfortable stay and the staff was so helpful and pleasant. Loved the art around the hotel and the bar was unique with delicious cocktails. We would definitely recommend.

I am so grateful for the extraordinary kindness and care I received from St. Charles and International House valet, especially Supervisor Albert and his right-hand man, Desmond. When valet discovered a nail in my tire, they didn’t just help—they went above and beyond, managing the busy valet, attending to every customer, and still making sure I was completely safe. Their compassion and dedication turned a stressful situation into a moment of peace and reassurance. It’s rare to experience service that not only solves a problem but also restores your faith in the goodness of people. Albert and Desmond reminded me that true service comes from the heart, and I left feeling safe, valued, and uplifted.

Yelp
I was in town for a wedding, and was looking for a hotel that had a traditional New Orleans feel to it as opposed to a chain, and International House Hotel definitely delivered! It is centrally located in a very walkable area, and a lot of attractions (and beignets) are within walking distance. When we first arrived, I was impressed by the outside, the lobby, and the bar. Everything looked very upscale, especially for the inexpensive price. The decor was beautiful, and there was an unexpected Banksy exhibit which was really cool. We happened to arrive on a voodoo holiday, and there was a shrine set up in the lobby and an event happening that night. I wasn't able to attend, but it was really cool to see that bit of New Orleans' unique culture. I took off a star because the a/c wasn't working in our room, which I've seen in other reviews. The staff were nice and moved us for our second night, but the first night was pretty warm. The room itself was nice, though! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It's such high quality for what you're paying.

Yelp
International House Hotel is a boutique hotel, that is located in a great location to all the attractions. The lobby is very comfortable and the decor is beautiful. There's a lounge area with a bar that is amazing. There is a (popular) sushi restaurant that is attached to the hotel. As for the rooms, I feel they could be updated to a more fancier style. But in all, the rooms were still neat, roomy, and clean. We did have an issue with the a/c, but the problem was addressed in a timely manner.

Yelp
My requests were always met expeditiously. They upgraded my room upon my arrival because the A/C was broken. I loved the room, but there were no hangers in the closet. The shower handle was a bit weird and the water wasn't as hot as I like. The heating was hard to get going. It was actually blowing cold air and made the room colder, which was visible in the declining temperature on the thermostat. I was pretty cold most of the trip and I just ended up turning off the thermostat. The hotel bar was nice with great bartenders. The drinks are a little pricey. The hotel is artsy and beautiful, yet playful with Mardi Gras. I wish they had food or room service. I would totally stay here again. They had free coffee and water!

Yelp
International House Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Central Business District in New Orleans. It is walking distance from some shops and eateries and we were able to walk to the famous Bourbon Street & to the French Quarters, etc. It came highly recommended by a loved one, and therefore, I booked it immediately. We definitely enjoyed our stay for a couple of days at International House Hotel. So much so that it is receiving a 4.5 out of 5 stars. International House Hotel is gorgeous and provides cozy, chic, elegant ambiance w/ an overall elegant vibe. Beautiful hotel lobby w/ cool lighting & decor, dope artwork, pretty plants, etc. The Banksy Art Exhibit in the lobby is interesting to view . Who knew that Banksy visited in 2008?...Thus, this artwork is at the hotel for patrons to view & enjoy. Loa Bar is also in the lobby area, and hotel guests are provided w/ two "welcome" cocktails of their choice during their stay. We each had a complimentary cup of Rose'. Loa Bar Hours of Operation - Sun. - Thurs. - 5pm-10pm Fri. & Sat. - 4pm-11pm Our room included decor, an updated / modern bathroom w/ a marvelous shower/shower head, fantastic water pressure & good, consistently hot water. The beds were oh-so comfortable...A great night's sleep was had throughout the three-night hotel stay. Clean bathrooms, a nice-sized gym/exercise facility, meeting rooms, good-looking & well-running elevators, etc. are all here at International House Hotel. Thank you to Eric and Chris for their wonderful hospitality, their professionalism, friendliness, their courtesy, and kindness. Check-in and Check-Out occurred w/ ease & they both provided lots of valuable information throughout our stay, etc. I am definitely going to book another stay at International House Hotel when I go back to visit New Orleans. Website - www.ihhotel.com Instagram - @Internationalhousehotel International House Hotel also has a Facebook & Twitter page. Sign up via their website w/ your email to receive updated information on special hotel offers, events, etc. I Oh, I forgot to mention that Kelly Cutrone was at the hotel for an event . I looked at her and knew that she looked familiar but I could not place her face. She said, "America's Next Top Model"... then I remembered that she was on that show. Yes, I definitely will not forget that moment -lol.

Yelp
An excellent hotel just a few blocks up from Canal St. The staff was extremely friendly at check in and check out. We arrived early, and they were happy to hold our bags while we were out exploring the city. The rooms were clean and well decorated, and the location turned out to be perfect. We were a quick walk to Canal and the French Quarter, but just far enough that street noise was no issue at night. We'd gladly stay here again on our next trip.

Yelp
This hotel saved our vacation! The overall vibe is immaculate. The staff was amazing to work with, and the room was so nice. There's a bar, a sushi restaurant in house - and of course complimentary coffee in the morning. The location could not have been better. We were able to walk, or take a quick Uber everywhere.

Yelp
First opened in 1906 as Canal Louisiana Bank and Trust, In 1943, Archie Jewell renamed the building "International House" and it became the world first "World Trade Center". In 1998 the building was repurposed into the hotel that I am staying at today. The exterior is very nice and the lobby is beautiful with a great bar serving very specialized cocktails. The staff is very friendly and the housekeeping was very professional. The rooms though are in need of updating. If you like your mattress very soft this place is for you. I'm not a fan of soft mattresses but I was able to sleep. It is closely located to Bourbon Street, The French Quarter, Harrahs Casino, and The River Walk was about a 15 minute walk away.

Yelp
We had an vacation rental nightmare when we arrived to New Orleans. Fortunately, the international house had a few rooms available for a 2 night stay during Halloween. We are so relieved when we arrived to this stylish haven. Shea was a great help during our stay. She was so cheerful and pleasant! Brandon at the bar was so insightful and we enjoyed his stories. Also, he made an amazing mezcal drink called the green door. Such a beautiful spot, we will be back!

Yelp
This place was really Nice and clean in the rooms and lobby. The staff was really kool And helpful with whatever even had a package delivered and they put it up for me . Every time you walk in there's nothing but good vibes with the music they play in the lobby. Only staff that was rude were the bartenders to all my guests at different time idk why but other then that they place was nice will stay again

Yelp
What a beautiful boutique hotel. Close enough to the action so that I can walk but far enough that I'll be able to get sleep. The ambiance of the hotel is phenomenal. It's so swanky and artsy and romantic but still just really really cool. As you open the huge doors the smell of the lobby pushes you on to a soft cloud of spearmint and eucalyptus ( we HAD to find out what the scent was. Way too amazing not to). It is so inviting and delightful. An amazing scent. The employees at the front desk were helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Quickly had us checked in. My friend called to make our reservations and said the person on the phone was really pleasant. Our room was very nicely designed. Small but still really nice and perfect for what we needed. A quick overnight stay in which we wouldn't be spending much time in the room. Stay here!

R C.

Yelp
Well located - rooms spacious. Be aware no safe in room to store valuables you don't want to carry around Nola and no coffee in room ( available in lobby but milk curdled on each day we were there. ) lastly the front desk staff courteous but not very knowledgeable in area and one in particular was rude and had an attitude (Lloyd was his name we were told) the negative interaction we had with him will influence our decision to stay at another hotel in the future.

Yelp
I had a very bad experience with IH and the short-term rental they run, Loft 523. I highly recommend you do not stay here. Communication with the host is nonexistent 99.9% of the time; but if you do get a chance to speak with them they will be rude and condescending. Loft 523 messed up our dates. We booked through AirBNB for August 10-12, but the hotel had us for August 9-11. So, after repeated messages over multiple days, we finally managed to reach the hotel (International House) that runs Loft 523 to ask them to correct their mistake. Loft 523 said they couldn't modify the reservation because Hotel Tonight owns it? And we are subject to Hotel Tonight's policy, even though we booked through Airbnb and not Hotel Tonight? As an example of how inept Loft 523 is at this: they never responded to Airbnb when Airbnb tried to let the host know they were going to cancel the reservation and give us a full refund. If Loft 523 won't respond to Airbnb in order to prevent from losing out on the entire cost of the reservation, do you think they're going to respond to you if you have an issue? I recommend you avoid this place. Or, if you do book with them, don't try to communicate with them. If you're able to speak with them, they will treat you like an idiot even though they're the ones who made the mistake.

Yelp
My husband and I booked here for our weddings anniversary and it was an amazing place. There were a few kinks that were addressed by the staff. We checked in late afternoon and Chris was AWESOME very professional, helpful with tips on things to do and places to eat! The day staff at front desk were a bit less energetic not bad or good just there! Our rooms were comfortable with great city views. The huge windows brought in plenty of light and the artwork in the room added a person touch. The beds were a bit soft for our taste but we slept fine. We had to switch rooms due to a maintenance issue and Brian and Khalil were very helpful and accommodating. Brain actually checked out our new room and brought us our new keys. Both Brain and Khalil offered great dining tips and made sure all was well with our room every time we passed them in the lobby. Last but definitely not least Erik was just fantastic although he may initially throw you off with a deadpan express or comment, he was the coolest dude too meet. I can't rave enough on his talents with making a Shirley Temple Seriously he was super chill, very efficient working through a burst of customers with ease. We actually elected to stay in on our last night and just sat hung out at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. The tall bongo drums are a nice touch. The lobby was pretty impressive the owners love for art was tastefully displayed throughout the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Oh by the way everything was in walking distance. There is a public parking garage directly across the street book in advance to save on parking.

Yelp
I'm surprised this only has 3.5 stars. I loved this place! The vibe was very cool and the lobby was beautiful. Everything smelled good too. You're close to everything too and just far enough from The French Quarter. The comforter could have been a little thicker and it would have been nice if they had half and half with the coffee, but those are my only critiques.
google avatar

Valerie N.

Yelp
We stayed here for three nights, and here's what we thought: The good - friendly front counter staff. They allowed us to leave our bags on our last day there so that we weren't running around. The morning coffee was good and constantly replenished along with milk and sugar. There were also some little pastries one of the mornings, that that didn't seem to be a common addition. The lobby and bar are beautiful - it's calm and relaxing, nice music playing over a sound system. The bad - we had ants in our room, so as long as we didn't leave food out, it wasn't that much of a bother. The toilet handle also broke, which speaks to some of the furniture in there that seem like they could use some updates. Also had a bartender with an awful personality who was not friendly or helpful at all. I reached out about this and got no response, so that was unfortunate. Overall not a bad experience, but we wouldn't return here for our next stay.

Leon D.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this boutique hotel. Walked into art, building, history, people.... all with an explanation of each. The building has been refined into what seems to be an over the top luxury hotel without being over the top. I appreciate the mishmash feel of almost a hotel and almost a bed and breakfast without being either. Speaking with one of the owner for almost an hour made us feel beyond welcomed and helped us understand the care and pride that goes into running this place. Looking at cost benifit ratio.... I think you make out on both if you Vaca here. Big thanks to Sean, Malachi, Eric and forgive me for missing the bartender but a visit there is a must do as well.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly. Front desk, bellman, maintenance, and bar tenders all made it difficult to give a bad review. They did a great job and the main lobby smelled amazing. The property was not 4 starts. I feel it was more air bnb vs high end property. The hotel was fairly cleaned. There was no ice maker or vending machines but the front desk did provide ice. Rugs in the hallway need to be tacked down. I seen a few people trip. Room curtains were stained, linen was dingy. Amenities on the website were not offered. There was no restaurant. I didn't get a complementary drink as rhetorical website stated. The decor looked different from the stock photos. System was "down" no option to charge things from the bar to my room. I booked through Orbitz where it was advertised I would receive a $130 credit for a tour for each day booked. When I attempted to retrieve it from the front desk I was told I would receive an email. I never received an email. I called orbitz and they told me to work with the front desk. Front desk then gave me a phone number to call 504-569-1401 but they were not able to help. I felt that the credit offered was a gimmick to entice to book.

Yelp
Loved this hotel in downtown NOLA, just a block off Canal! Lots to see, shop, and eat within walking distance. Quirky hotel with a great bar. Seemed to be a hopping place on evening weekends. Room was comfortable. My only complaint is that lighting in bathroom was very dim, virtually non-existent, never did brighten. But I'd stay here again.
google avatar

Alma M.

Yelp
Came in to see the secret Banksy Mural and well worth the stop. The worker was very helpful and even told us how to brighten the light for our pictures. Very elegant hotel. The paintings around such as that of Prince was of a local artist and was magnificent. This is a must stop if your coming to New Orleans.
google avatar

Yesenia R.

Yelp
International House Hotel was beautiful. They have a beautiful lobby and bar. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. This hotel is located at the end of the chaos, so you won't have to hear all the commotion and drunk people outside your window at night, but it is close enough to walk back and forth to the French district and Canal St. They have beautiful art, in a candle lit lobby that makes it look very romantic. Our room was the perfect size for 2 people. Bathroom was spacious and they offer a nice view. My only issue with this hotel is that the cleaning staff sucks. Our room was never really cleaned. The carpet was so dusty my friend sneezed all night long. We took the sheets off the bed to be changed because they had some old foundation looking stains and they just put the same sheets on.
google avatar

Brittney P.

Yelp
This is such a cute and affordable spot that's just a hop (not even a skip and jump) away from Bourbon St and the rest of the French Quarter. I absolutely loved our room with the super high ceilings and stylish decor. There was so much historic charm within the halls and rooms, without seeming "old". I was very pleased that I was charged the exact price given on their website with no fine print fees. It's better to stay here if you're not in your car though, because parking is a greusome 4 blocks away from the hotel and costs $20 a day self-park or $42 a day valet. Typical New Orleans I suppose.

Yelp
This place has been amazing! Super close to everything, drink tokens to the hotel lobby bar, staff has been extremely friendly and personable!

Yelp
Decided to spontaneously go to New Orleans for the night and found this hotel on hotels tonight, and I'm so glad we did! Eric at the front desk was so helpful and gave great recommendations when we checked in. The hotel and room were so chic and beautiful. We loved it! Close enough to all the action but not on top of it, which made ending the night easy. I got a great night's rest after a full day and night of exploring and experiencing New Orleans. I will definitely be staying here again!

Happy Saturday . Great so far . Good vibes as well . We are still observing! Staff is very kind .

Yelp
Ambiance is key! The bartender's ability was beyond expectation! The artwork on the walls was exceptional and caused me to pause. Walking distance to everything that is downtown New Orleans - Bourbon Street, the Boardwalk, Riverwalk outlet mall, the Cathedral, restaurants, shops, public transportation. Ideal location. There are these tables and chairs outside as well so that you can sip on a drink and enjoy the weather. A cute addition.
google avatar

Yelp
I had an okay experience here. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The bar is cozy and the drinks are delicious, and it's a perfect distance from bourbon street (close enough to walk but far enough not to keep you up). The rooms are where things have a lot to be desired. The blankets are thin and flimsy. The duvet on my bed wasn't even zipped and my room wasn't cleaned the first night of the stay. When I told the front desk they said oh no but didn't offer to do anything and I had to ask for them to bring new towels etc. There were also random suspicious splatter on some of the walls of the room, which I tried very hard to simply not look at. There were some hairs on the shower walls likely from the last person to stay in my room and the toilet had gunk along where the seat meets the bowl. Not someplace I'll be choosing to return to.
google avatar

Kendrick R.

Yelp
Great location, one block or so from Canal street and another block or so from Bourbon street. The hotel itself is good - a pleasant lobby with a bar. The front desk staff were very nice. The rooms need some updating. The air conditioner barely works, and the shower door doesn't shut, which allows water to puddle on the bathroom floor. The bed is NOT comfortable, and there is no wall decor - a pretty basic room. A Hilton room is usually nicer. For a boutique hotel I expect a little better experience. Not opposed to staying there again, but I'll probably check out something a little nicer the next time.

Yelp
After having reservations at other hotels cancelled on us, we ended up at the Intl House, and I'm glad we did. Greg helped us out immensely over the phone and once we arrived. The lobby was clean, well furnished, and had information on the historic nature of the building (though, not as old as the French quarter). We were given two drinks at the bar, and I was blown away at the quality of the drinks and the friendliness of the staff. Tara Jill mixed one lovely cocktail after another, and Alan's menu is inspired. I got to taste a chanterelle infused French 75, which was incomparably delicate and satiating. Our room was well sized and comfortably furnished, with a few modern amenities like a JBL speaker/alarm and Apple TV. I would recommend this as a great place to stay, comfortably tucked within walking distance of bourbon street and the sights.

Yelp
Nicely located and convenient for our stay in New Orleans. My husband and I chose this place to stay here on our honeymoon vacation. Loved: - location was far enough away from the noisy bustle yet within walking distance of all the action - staff was very friendly and very helpful - unique ambiance and very artsy. Huge fan of their Banksy exhibit! - Bed was comfy and their AC worked -Elevators were nice and quick! -Conditioner supplied in their amenities smelled wonderful Was Ok: -Water doesn't get very hot when taking a shower. - Had a small issue with the shower head because it was leaking and spraying everywhere so our floor was often soaked. Overall, it was a nice stay and if I were to come back, I would stay again.

Michele S.

Yelp
We stayed 1 night here and have had a wonderful time. Room is clean and bathroom is updated well. Room is simple but has great historical feel. Went to Lola bar and had the best time! The bartenders were full of information regarding New Orleans, the drinks they are making, and just fun to be around. They hand crafted me 2 drinks by me just telling them flavors I like. If your looking for the pool, jacuzzi, and everything flashy this is not your place. However it is clean, historical and the employees are great!

Yelp
We stayed at this property the weekend of May 14th and were quite disappointed with our stay. Let's start with what worked first... The lobby is beautifully decorated and their were disposable masks and hand sanitizer for the guests. The bar is lovely and uniquely decorated, although the bartender on Friday night seemed a bit anxious and struggled with engaging us positively. The hotel is located very close to Bourbon Street and in walking distance of Canal Street. Here is what didn't work... The room made available to us didn't meet our expectations, even though we booked the room online. There was a mold smell in the room, the desk chair was rickety and there was no paper and pen on the desk, which was odd. The hotel didn't appear to have ice machines or vending machines on any of the floors where the rooms were located. The advertised breakfast was not available and we were told the vendor suddenly ended their relationship with the hotel. As a result, there is no room service at the hotel. We weren't successful in advocating for a different room as we were advised the entire hotel was booked. While the staff were friendly enough, that experience isn't enough to get us to book again with this hotel or to recommend it to our friends and family. We're hopeful the misses were related to the pandemic and as travel resumes the quality of stay will improve as well.

Yelp
After a small hic-up with room assignment the front desk staff had a moment to shine a show what true southern hospitality can be like. I was quickly put at ease by a very clear headed young man that made quick work finding a solution and a sincere apology that made that issue dissolve. Oh she is a beautiful and majestic place, so well taken care of with both new and classic finishes everywhere. The White on white on white is both classic and modern. The Loa Bar is very nice and service across the bar is top notch. The drinks are wonderful and the room is fill with so much romance and lore. I didnt try the restaurant, but I'm intrigued and for sure will try it on my next visit. My room was perfect with all of the modern amenities you might expect from this class of almost luxury hotel. I say that because I have stayed in nicer hotels, but at a price. I feel the rates here are great for what is offered.

Yelp
Girl's Trip had us trying to book the first weekend possible to New Orleans. Since we really are professional women with crazy schedules it took almost a year from watching the movie to make the trip a reality. Friendly uber driver brings us here and immediately we are greeted by a casual looking man in baseball gear. He's so friendly that we give him our luggage and go seek food since our room wasn't ready. It wasn't until we were seated with food on our forks that we wonder if we just handed our items to a stranger on the street. Thankfully are late suspensions had no merit. We has been greeted by the manager. The hotel is in such a prime location so the walks were never far, but the summer sun sometimes makes you forget. The hotel is very modern with high ceilings. Lots of detail with the wood tables, chest boards placed through the lobby, and nice bar serving up everything at all hours. Though you'll cross plenty of happy faces in the elevators. The hallways are super quiet no noise comes from the other rooms, kinda hauntingly beautiful. Not much of a view out of the windows but the rest of the room is great. While I did have trouble sleeping on the extra firm mattresses. Everyone else found them amazing. Besides the inviting demeanor of the staff I loved that during the hot summer months, when we escaped the heat we would see an icy fountain of infused water. I'm definitely a fan!

Yelp
On a very short notice they got us in a room with me, my girlfriend and toddler and honestly had a very nice price for it. Only problem was a little bit of ants on the table near the bed and the latch lock didn't actually work.

Yelp
This is a boutique hotel in downtown New Orleans, just a couple of blocks from the French Quarter. This is my third stay at International House this year. In the lobby, there is an elegant shabbiness to the decor which is a mix of classic and bohemian styles with crystal chandeliers, marble, mosaics and bohemian furnishings. I've seen many of the rooms , which are all a little different. Most of the rooms have king beds and it's just as well because it's a more adult vibe. The newly finished penthouse suites are very elegant with separate living areas. I only gave three stars because of a few problems. They are obviously understaffed to the point that my duvet cover was still damp from the dryer but at least it was clean. I did not appreciate someone's leftover food in the fridge. There is no restaurant in the hotel and the bar doesn't open until 5pm. No vending machines and no room service so you have to do Uber eats to get a bottle of water or leave the hotel. Still, it was clean and the bed comfortable. They brought me extra pillows and an ice bucket with ice-none in the room and I haven't found an ice machine yet. All of that I can overlook because it's downtown New Orleans and we're out of the room most of the day. What I don't appreciate is the room AC not cooling. I like it cold. It was turned down to 68 but never got lower than 72. There is actually a ceiling fan which helped but it was noisy. I used a white noise app to drown out the sound of the fan and street noise. It is affordable so If they can fix these problems, it will be a great place to stay.

Yelp
Terrible policies, and customer service. Allen Moore director of guest services was responsible. Flight canceled late night so i missed checking in and came for the second day and was told my reservation was void and i was charged for previous night. Left hanging with no room and they pointed to their policies. However their policies make no mention of the fact that they void your reservation if you are late. During covid and after hurricane ida i would expect more from customer service. Not only that but their attitudes and their unwillingness to be even slightly flexible under these circumstances gets Allen Moore and the internation house a big F. -Aaron

Yelp
We ended up at International House since IHH was the only decent hotel left that was not subpar or haunted during a Memorial Day wedding weekend. It was on the pricey side as it is a boutique hotel. It seems as if IHH poured their budget into their lobby. The lobby is gorgeous, inviting, and cool. I'm happy because out of the extended weekend spent in NOLA, a good deal of time was spent in that lobby. Whether it was having a cup of luxurious tea, coffee, breakfast on the go (granola bars and fruit), or attending welcome drinks at Loa Bar, the IHH lobby hosted well. I was also able to use their computer to print out my boarding passes. Just remember to erase all your information and clear the browsing history once you are done. The room we had (Rockstar) was nothing to rave about. It was small and boring decor wise. The room served its purpose. Perfectly spacious enough and comfortable for two people but really with a fantastic lobby downstairs, they could have added a little pizzazz to the room. Especially for the dollar they charge. We also had a little mysterious purple towel appear out of thin air onto my bf's arm. To this day, we can't figure it out. Haunted or not, I guess that's all part of the charm of NOLA. This hotel is well located in the central business district close by and within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and all the sites. It was also featured in Anthony Bourdain's The Layover: 36 hours in NOLA. RIP Anthony Bourdain

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. All of the staff were really kind and helpful. Check in is normally at 4pm, but they were able to check us into our room at 1:30pm which was nice. We stayed in the apple king room which was spacious enough for 2 people. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was stocked and everything was in working order. On the 2nd night I noticed that housekeeping left a black washcloth for taking off my make up which was cool as I haven't seen that anywhere else. The drinks at the bar were really good and the bartenders were friendly and gave some really good recommendations for restaurants in the area. When we checked out at noon on our last day, we were able to have our luggage held until our evening flight. I think most hotels will do this for you, but it was really convenient. I really liked the decor and ambience of this place and will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Yelp
I almost docked two stars because of a few glitches, but when I considered the overall experience and the fact that International House will be the first place I call for my next trip, 3 stars were inadequate. I'll start with the best. Andrew at the front desk. I think I called him 5 times leading up to, during and after my booking. Three times in a row at one point so that he actually answered the phone with "Hi, Sue." Not sure I could have been that jovial if I was on the other end of the line. Super sweet guy, very helpful and friendly. As was the entire staff, especially the door men who hustled the whole time we were there, opening doors, hailing cabs and parking cars. Location: Could not be better. We were a block from the French Quarter and a block from downtown Central Business District. We could walk everywhere, so no need to rent a car. The street wasn't very busy so few cars or people to navigate. Atmosphere: "Boutique hotel" which, in this case, meant it had all the charm AND an elevator. Two actually, but one was out of order and the other was on the verge of being out of order. Plus, it's woefully slow. Glitch #1: elevators. The interior/lobby is lovely. Rich and stately. There is a bar off to the side with a massive seating area complete with separate sections for private or group conversations and comfy couches. The white exterior has lush plants, some tables and chairs, but no trash can. Glitch #2 was difficulty finding trash cans anywhere. I had to give all my trash to front desk staff. Annoying. Rooms: Smallish, but not tiny and certainly no smaller than New York City, Washington DC or any other metropolis. The rooms and bath were clean and nicely decorated, but our shower faucet was faulty and screamed whenever it was turned on. Glitch #3 was when I mentioned to someone I encountered, but apparently the message didn't make it to maintenance before we checked out. The most egregious glitch was the last morning of our stay and there was no cream at the coffee station in the lobby. Front desk person said she had to wait for the manager to come in. Come on! This girl (me) needs her morning coffee to function well enough to even walk to a coffee shop! Can't you just send someone to CVS down the street next time?! Oh, and the big Smart Water bottle in the room was only $3. Love that they didn't try and gouge us thirsty travelers!

Yelp
The international house hotel was a neat little stopover for drinks in the city centre of Nola. There was a small display setup for Easter with beautiful candles, statues of Mary and bread as you entered the hotel -something new to me. The actual bar is located to the left with couches and candle light and lamps hanging from ceiling like fire flies. It reminded me of a scene from Can't hardly wait with the song "kiss me" playing. The drinks were good- I loved their twist on the old fashioned called "the Hummingbird Seed old fashioned" that had a base of grapefruit in it- a flavour that compliments this drink really well. We came back a second time before our flights, cute spot.

Yelp
We recently had a quick one night stay at the International House and were pretty happy with our stay. Pros: The hotel has great location. You're close to the casino, a short walk to the quarter and a short streetcar or uber to uptown. The Loa Bar in the lobby is fantastic is you're a cocktail snob. They make some fantastic mixed drinks. Decor is very hip. The lobby is low lit with candlelight and ambient music and the walls have well appointed art throughout. Prices vary but we found a great deal on the Hotel Tonight app. Aveda bath products in the bathroom is a nice touch. Cons: Room size is on the small side. It felt tight, probably because the King bed swallowed most of the room in the square shaped room. Bathrooms are also not terribly large or much more than a plastic tub/shower with one of those widening shower rods. Overnight valet service was $35. Woof. It's the going rate around that part of town, if not more, but yuck. All in all, The International House puts you smack dab in the middle of New Orleans and doesn't feel like a bland chain hotel, unlike many of the alternates in its price range. Definitely worth a look.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful hotel! Perfect blend of modern and classic. The location is just a few blocks outside of the Quarter which my husband and I felt was perfect as you were still close to everything but it wasn't too loud. Very clean rooms, and our room had a really nice deep bath tub which was perfect for relaxing after walking around the French Quarter all day. The hotel bar is fantastic, great atmosphere and I had one of the best French 75's I've had had while there. But the best part of our experience was the exceptionally kind and helpful staff. We felt truly welcomed due to the amazing service we received. They really took the experience from good to excellent.

Yelp
I really enjoyed staying here. The lobby is trendy and calming, with soft candlelight, comfy loungers, and a table set with a chessboard. The bar is very nice and all of the staff we encountered were incredibly sweet and helpful. They upgraded our room upon arrival to a room that was ready right away, which was really nice. (Especially considering we were in-town during a peak time) The bathroom is huge and this may sound odd but I really appreciated that the shower had strong water pressure. (Too many hotels seem to have an issue with this) The location is PERFECT! Just a short, 10 minute walk to almost everything. We will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Nice view, no amenities. Pay a lot to not even have a coffee maker in the room and the bedside lamp didn't even work. It's kitchy with the modern art and the bed was comfortable but parking was outrageously expensive and it's literally only good for sleeping.

Yelp
The good: the staff are very friendly and informative whenever we had questions or asked for recommendations. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were quite big. The water pressure and temperature were good. The location is close enough to the French Quarter and other places, so it is still convenient even though it's not technically in the heart of the Quarter. The negative: coffee and tea are only served from 5am to 7am, all week. It's their way of getting you into their restaurant if you want coffee when you get up. What hotel cuts off coffee at 7am, especially on weekends?! Even motels serve coffee 24 hours a day. The bathtub had a lot of water spraying out of the handle, which didn't affect the shower, but did make a little mess. Coffee is very important to me in the morning and maybe that's why I'm a little harsh on the review, but a small gesture goes a long way with customer satisfaction.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better CBD area hotels (just 2 blocks in from Canal St located on Camp St). What impressed me initially was the candlelight lobby with Zen-like art and outstanding looking bar adjacent the front lobby. This is definitely a more swanky/artistic type hotel yet is not some small boutique but features large, modern rooms with good views of the downtown area. The front desk service was very friendly and courteous. They can arrange tours or provide advice on anything in the area. Definitely a very comfortable and higher end hotel for the area. A 2 block walk to Canal St and hence Quarter is not bad either.

Yelp
This my second time here was in town for the football game. It located in great spot for everything. The staff is so so polite and sharp on duty. I will staff here again. Nice room also.

Yelp
The room was threadbare and plenty of stuff was broken. The desk drawer would not stay closed; electrical outlets were loose. Not especially impressed.
