Pete Buttigieg Ate Practically Everything at the Iowa State Fair | Eater
"An industry tent that serves as a customary stop for candidates acknowledging the local pork sector — noted in the coverage as a $36.7 billion industry — where one candidate flipped pork chops as a photo-op, sniffed the meat to take in its aroma, and after taking a hearty bite declared it 'very good,' using the moment to signal support for agriculture." - Gary He
Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and More at the Iowa State Fair | Eater
"A high-visibility fair tent tied to the state’s massive pork industry — which produces more pigs than people and generated about $36.7 billion in sales in 2015 — that serves as an essential campaigning stop where politicians flip burgers and showcase pork products. Visitors and candidates work the grill and sample items like pork chops and bacon-on-a-stick; notable moments included multiple candidates flipping burgers, others cooking pork chops before eating them on camera, and staff orders of multi-pack pork chops for campaign teams." - Gary He
Bbq and Brews was a fun event but very unorganized. Ran out of beer samples an hour and a half before the event was over and then had to open the craft beer wall from the Iowa cubs. We were told we could use our $5 coupon from a vendor inside the ball park at 2:30 there was no vendors open selling pork items. Sad to say but better planning for next year is needed.

Why don't you educate consumers about the fact that pork products cause cancer, climate change and it's extremely cruel to the animals kept in crates unable to turn around, and cruel to the piglets getting their teeth and tails clipped with no anesthetic????
