The 23 Best Restaurants In Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"Compared to some other ramen restaurants, Ippudo has the advantage of a very cool-looking dining room, a much larger menu, and the ability to seat reasonably large groups of people. In other words, it’s perfect for when there are a few of you who have a hankering after some noodles, and you want to make an evening of it without being shoehorned around a tiny table. The noodles are great and there are good options for vegetarians. It’s no-bookings, but the queue usually moves pretty fast." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

Ippudo London Review - Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"Compared to other ramen restaurants, Ippudo has the advantage of a very cool-looking dining room, a much larger menu, and the ability to seat reasonably large groups of people. In other words, it’s perfect for when there are a few of you hankering after some noodles, but you want to make an evening of it without being shoehorned around a tiny table like you would be at Bone Daddies or Kanada-Ya. The noodles are good, and they have things like dumplings and pork buns on the menu as well as options for non-meat eaters. It’s still no bookings, but at least the wait is usually fairly short. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - David Paw

Diego was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. His positive attitude and high level of ethics made my experience truly enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Thank you for the excellent service!

1. Flavor and Authenticity: The Shiromaru Tomago lacking the creamy richness typical of a proper tonkotsu soup base is a critical flaw. Authentic tonkotsu ramen is celebrated for its deep, umami-rich broth that comes from hours of simmering pork bones. The comparison to salted duck eggs suggests the flavor profile may have been off, potentially catering to a different palate or suffering from inconsistency in preparation. 2. Customer Service: Subpar customer service can amplify dissatisfaction, especially when expectations are set high based on prior experiences. Attentiveness and politeness are hallmarks of Japanese service culture, which might not be as strictly upheld in other locations. 3. Value for Price: Overpriced, mediocre ramen is understandably frustrating, particularly when you know how affordable and delicious authentic ramen can be in Japan.

Popped in for lunch - i got the number 1 which was traditional Pork ramen with a creamy ramen broth. My friend got 3, which he really enjoyed. It was £16 before any additions, so could easy be a £20 dish if you added other toppings or meat. It did come with two slices of pork and was very filling! The broth was very nice. The food came out fast, but was hard to get attention from anyone working as you can order and pay through a QR code (but this didn’t work so we needed service) so we did struggle to leave once finished. Would go again if really fancied ramen and was in the area!

Really great food, service with a smile and a friendly chat, and absolute wall to wall bangers (Les Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Blondie to name a few) We'll be back for sure! The ramen is excellent

Very good ramen, good service and atmosphere. Has a good dinner, a little bit pricey but not over the top

Been looking forward to checking out this chain as, like Bone Daddies, has been expanding over the capital. This branch was very busy and is walk in only with no bookings. Seating is very compact just so you are aware. Edamame were reasonably good and served with a lot of flaky sea salt. Chicken karage had some good crispness and solid coating. Chicken wings were bbq but these were a little disappointing flavour wise. I had the spicy ramen and extra pork. The pork was exceptionally good and melty. Broth was very good but not superb. Drinks were priced pretty well also. Service was good among the business. Well worth a visit if you like ramen.

Nice food & service, although they didn’t have the pork belly dish which is a shame as looked good and we wasn’t told until we actually ordered, another shame is they are cashless which we didn’t realise and in the end told them that it’s cash or nothing and they managed to sort, I don’t appreciate being told I can’t spend my hard earned cash, it’s legal tender end of and wouldn’t return because of that, but all in all nice experience

Loved this place!! Ramen was amazing, you can def taste the noodles are handmade and you can choose the firmness. The broth is delicious, and also is the tender pork. If you like matcha, the matcha brownie tastes a lot like matcha, which I love. Service was great, one of the waitresses was super friendly chatting with us about Japanese bands we like. One of my favorite ramen from London!! Will come back for sure.
