The 23 Best Restaurants In Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"Compared to some other ramen restaurants, Ippudo has the advantage of a very cool-looking dining room, a much larger menu, and the ability to seat reasonably large groups of people. In other words, it’s perfect for when there are a few of you who have a hankering after some noodles, and you want to make an evening of it without being shoehorned around a tiny table. The noodles are great and there are good options for vegetarians. It’s no-bookings, but the queue usually moves pretty fast." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

Where To Eat The Best Ramen In London - London - The Infatuation

"There will probably be a wait at walk-in-only, Japanese restaurant Ippudo, but it’s worth it when a ramen craving hits. You can select the firmness of your noodles (we recommend firm) and the broth is consistently rich with a good depth of flavour. Our favourite bowl is the karaka-men. It comes with spicy miso paste, which adds a pleasing kick to the creamy tonkotsu broth, and is loaded with slices of fall-apart pork belly, mushrooms, and bean sprouts. Ippudo’s relatively spacious location near Covent Garden is especially helpful if you’re moving with a group." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager

Ippudo London Review - Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"Compared to other ramen restaurants, Ippudo has the advantage of a very cool-looking dining room, a much larger menu, and the ability to seat reasonably large groups of people. In other words, it’s perfect for when there are a few of you hankering after some noodles, but you want to make an evening of it without being shoehorned around a tiny table like you would be at Bone Daddies or Kanada-Ya. The noodles are good, and they have things like dumplings and pork buns on the menu as well as options for non-meat eaters. It’s still no bookings, but at least the wait is usually fairly short. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - David Paw

Had the classic shoya ramen and my partner had the garlic one. Strong flavors, good bone broth and good portions. One bowl will fill a hungry stomach. The noodles used were “kaeshi” or buck wheat noodles, tasted good, but a different experience from the traditional wheat based ramen noodles. The meat cuts were good, could be a little thicker, also the classic bowl was missing elements such as poached egg and nori, which counted as extras.

Sep25- late lunch with colleagues. Has anlucnh menu but we opted for only one dish each. Steamed buns, ramen bowl and rice bowl each for 3. Gentleman who served us was helpful in describing meals and service was not too slow but wonderfully Japanese. You're seating is very close to others but it has a good vibe. Steamed buns good size: veggie is potato pattie which was a tad disappointing but flavoursome. Good price 2 for £8, add extra one for £3. First timer and have recommended to others.

I did not enjoy my experience at this restaurant. The service was rushed. After waiting for a while, my dish finally arrived almost cold, and the chicken was nearly raw. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen. When I pointed this out, the waiter said the chicken was cooked “for hours in a special way.” I asked for it to be cooked more, but he brought back exactly the same dish. Now I have a stomach ache. What shocked me most was that the waiter came over with the card machine while we were still eating. My friend had food in her mouth, and he was already trying to make us pay and clear the table. She had to tell him to let her finish her bite first. I will not return and do not recommend this place. It’s overpriced, and you can get much better ramen elsewhere for less.

Got acute food poisoning from this place after eating the veggie ramen - VEGGIE ramen! Was in bed for two days. I know for certain it was from here because until that moment, my husband and I had eaten the same food all day and he was fine. He just happened to have a different ramen this evening. Additionally, service was poor and the cucumber salad was £5 for one quarter of a tiny cucumber. Who are they trying to impress with that. I have spent a month travelling Japan. This place does not deserve to be associated with the service or hygiene you see in real Japanese food.

Loved this place!! Ramen was amazing, you can def taste the noodles are handmade and you can choose the firmness. The broth is delicious, and also is the tender pork. If you like matcha, the matcha brownie tastes a lot like matcha, which I love. Service was great, one of the waitresses was super friendly chatting with us about Japanese bands we like. One of my favorite ramen from London!! Will come back for sure.

Love this authentic spot! - amazingly delicious food ( 🥵but don’t take spicy ramen if you have never eaten it before! Can be too much ) - they have a regular attentive - they have good snack deals till 15:00 - very quick serving - you cannot book so just stop by - lots of menu options

Been looking forward to checking out this chain as, like Bone Daddies, has been expanding over the capital. This branch was very busy and is walk in only with no bookings. Seating is very compact just so you are aware. Edamame were reasonably good and served with a lot of flaky sea salt. Chicken karage had some good crispness and solid coating. Chicken wings were bbq but these were a little disappointing flavour wise. I had the spicy ramen and extra pork. The pork was exceptionally good and melty. Broth was very good but not superb. Drinks were priced pretty well also. Service was good among the business. Well worth a visit if you like ramen.

Popped in for lunch - i got the number 1 which was traditional Pork ramen with a creamy ramen broth. My friend got 3, which he really enjoyed. It was £16 before any additions, so could easy be a £20 dish if you added other toppings or meat. It did come with two slices of pork and was very filling! The broth was very nice. The food came out fast, but was hard to get attention from anyone working as you can order and pay through a QR code (but this didn’t work so we needed service) so we did struggle to leave once finished. Would go again if really fancied ramen and was in the area!
