Things to Do This Weekend in Boston | Eater Boston

"An all-weather Irish Beer Festival hosted on the Centre’s grounds and in its on-site pub, featuring a wide pour list from Magners cider and Guinness to local craft breweries like Downeast, plus samplings of Irish whiskeys and other spirits. Food offerings lean hearty and traditional—Guinness stew, Irish seafood chowder, fish and chips, and cheeseburgers made with Kerrygold butter—while family-friendly activities include face-painting, vendor stalls, and outdoor Viking shows; the festival runs Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and general admission is $30 (including five beer samples), with free entry for kids under 12." - Nathan Tavares

Just had a local fundraiser in the tent at the ICC, and got so many compliments from attendees on the venue. Would absolutely hold another event here. Alana was always available when I had that pre-event flurry of random questions, and she was very responsive. Highly recommend!

My family was in town during St Patrick's Day to visit our daughter and found this as a recommendation on Perplexity. We got the buffet. Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, rice and curry, hot tea, coffee, brownies and the best soda bread I've had in years. I wish we had more time as entry and the buffet was $45 each but, they had a lot of activities for the holiday. Dancers, musicians and bagpipers. I recommend and will be back. Thanks for the hospitality!

I've been to this place twice for events and had a good experience. However, you have to get there early to get a good parking spot near the entrance

Went on 3/16 it was completely lame nothing to do. Coloring and a couple crafts for the kids and playground. Kids kind of dancing. Food for outrageous prices. No vendors, no events, no face painting. 10/10 do not go and waste $30 of your money for nothing. Don't ruin your St. Patrick’s Day.

Love visiting the ICC for feisanna, best chicken fingers and fries! Friendly bar staff!

Google
The location was perfect for our Brown Sugah event on Saturday. My only complaint was, having 1 bar opened for over 220 people.

My little sister had her Sweet 16 here and I loved how great the staff was so I held my sons 1st birthday party there as well! Since I have sent about 2-3 people there to have their functions! Definitely love this place and will be sending more people over! 🤍

A great experience watching the match and having my son participating in some of the pre-match activities for the FreeJacks v. Munster!

Yelp
First time visiting and absolutely plan to return. The members and guests we met were so welcoming, interesting and friendly! Loved the venue, viewing pictures and learning about the start of the Center, the music and food but most definitely the people! We'll be back! Franny, Stoneham, MA

Yelp
I got fish and chips and a pint, possibly 2. Nice people, if I was local I'd stop in again. I was told they have great live music regularly.

Yelp
I've only ever been to the Irish Fest (even though I used to live just blocks from here) but the Irish Fest is great. The Center is giant and had fields for Gaelic Football and the like (which is delightful to watch... I mean... MMmmmMmm). Great bands at the festival. Wonderful beer (Come on, that's why we all go). And, of course, the pour your own Guinness stand. Oh, and I wear a ring on the middle finger of my left hand (wheel of the seasons - Irish knot) which I bought.. where? Here!

Yelp
This year's Irish Fest was far bigger and better than last year. More stages and bands. Even more vendors and food stands. The fried Twinkies were great! Having The Wolfe Tones as a headliner was awesome. They really brought out the crowds. This is an event I plan on attending every year. Be sure to check out their year-round pub. A great spot with fresh Magner's on tap.

Yelp
Went to the Irish Festival this weekend - drove all the way from Burlington to Canton in hopes of getting some good Irish food. Boy was I dissapointed!! I have been to many an Irish Festival and never seen such lackluster food selections. Especially being in the food mecca of Boston - I was expecting so much more. We could choose from a Chicken and Rice food truck, Seafood food truck, home made cupcakes or some greasy chicken fingers/fries. The only Irish food they had were bangers. I give this festival 2 stars for the fun music - but even that was not enjoyable because there were very few chairs and only soggy grass for everyone to stand on in the hot hot sun. Don't they know that us Irish red-heads need shade for our delicate white white skin?! HA. I suggest getting some real Irish food and a shade covering for the main stage (or at least some more chairs).

Yelp
Saw John McDermott at the Boston Irish Festival. Beautiful voice. I think when you listen to John McDermott outdoors you begin to notice the beauty of nature: birds flying by, the motion of the trees in the wind. Tree spirits perhaps? Also enjoyed Whistlin' Donkeys. They're so young and full of energy they make me feel young again. And they're not so loud that I'm turned off. I also enjoyed seeing more women singers this year. I missed the step dancers unfortunately. And there was a rugby game when I was there but the kids were really young. Enjoyed my scones from Greenhills Bakery. They have some big tents so don't worry if it looks like rain.

Yelp
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I tried to rent out the function hall for my son's first birthday. I got the run around for a month. I called about twice a week and each time asking if they had the date I needed available and they always said yes but said I needed to speak to the program director to make sure. For a month, they told me it was available but kept telling me to call back, then they told me they'd call me but I received no phone calls. So finally I told them I couldn't wait any longer and that's when she promised me I would get an answer the next afternoon. I called the next day and thats when they told me the whole month was booked. How is it it's available for a month then all of a sudden you're booked completely. They are unprofessional, uncoordinated and disorganized. I will never again waste my time on this place and I suggest you don't either.

Yelp
So sad... So many acres and such potential. My husband and I went there today, for St. Pat's Day. There were about 15 cars in the parking lot at 1:00. Not a good sign. Inside, it had the personality of a high school cafeteria. There were a few formica tables with older people just sitting there - like a nursing home. No music... no anything. Just some soggy corned beef at the buffet... It's a CULTURAL center!! Why not have several Irish cottages and create something special?!! (there was one lonely, empty, cottage at the entrance area...) Why not have an Irish shoppe.... a dance studio.... a pub... a small museum...a little Irish village? A VIBRANT village?! Just a sad place. A wasted space. Too bad.

Yelp
During the summer they have a great array of irish sports to watch. Gaelic football, rugby and my favorite, hurling. $10 to get in to watch the teams compete on Saturdays & Sundays. They have a full bar with all your staple irish drinks. Magners seems to be the popular summer cider! Yum! Their food stand is a bit outrageous with the prices but after you've had 5 beers on a hot summer afternoon you won't mind paying $9 for chicken fingers! And try the curry chips, they are delicious.

Yelp
The festival is a great annual even there, It moved to September this year to avoid losing people to vacations and the college kids are back. The price was more reasonable at $15 a day and 30 or 35 for a three day pass. The trade off for that was there were fewer big names but there was still a lot of good music. They have regular music sessions there on Friday and Sat nights, with Sat being more of a mix of songs and tunes while friday is more traditional tunes. As mentioned before they have Irish sports and Rugby in the spring through the fall and occasionally they have smaller concerts and plays in the main building and they have classes on Irish Language and music as well. Best of all there is not need to be a member to go to any events. www.irishculture.org

Yelp
This place is berry big lol. The lady in the kitchen is crazy. That man joe is good at cooking but gets very emotional. Marykate the bartender needs to be fired. Everyone else is cool. The food is good. 10/10.

Terry C.

Yelp
My son and I went there for Galway vs Kilkenny Hurling replay, it was extremely disappointing. The Irish breakfast was scrambled egg and sausage on cheap styrofoam plate, plastic cutlery. Scrambled egg looked like it was cooked the night before, when I asked the lady serving if this was the Irish breakfast, she said I didn't have to take it. Really dingy bar area, dreadful picture quality on TV, rude bar staff, formica tables. Absolutely nothing cultural about this place, I will never go there again and would be ashamed to recommend to anyone.
