"Dupont drinkers might remember the bar as Irish Whiskey Public House, which was gutted after its five-year run and transformed by restaurateur Reese Gardner into a cozy floral-themed champagne and oyster bar." - Tierney Plumb

Great place with a great atmosphere and customer service. Great place to drink and socialise but the good is a little overpriced for the quality because you are actually paying for the environment. Great place overall.

I went to brunch here. They provide you a bottle of champagne for every $10 you spend on food. The steak and eggs were okay. But , the saddlebags were delicious! I'd definitely return. The atmosphere was great too. Ended up making friends with the table next to us!

Good place to go for a happy hour near downtown. Convenient location near M street and 19th NW. The seating outside is decent, but the benches have the nail heads poking out of the wood. Be careful of your clothes. The whiskey flights were very reasonably priced at $10. You can either get a bourbon flight or a Scotch flight. Service was mediocre - it is fairly difficult to get a drink outside. We were told at one point that we needed to go inside to order.

The food was tasty. We enjoyed the cordon blue poppers, crab & artichoke dip, truffle mac & cheese, and a beet salad. The mac & cheese was awesome, though it's very rich. It was great to share, but it would be difficult to eat solo. The salad was pretty standard, but it rounded out our shared snacks very nicely. We went in for happy hour but ended up ordering a bottle of wine for the half priced night on Thursdays. The food and atmosphere were great. The service...blah. We had to wait excessively long to be noticed and then were forgotten repeatedly. It was a busy night, so perhaps that's not the norm. Slow service is almost standard for DC, and it's not worth getting fussed about. I'll definitely be going back, so we'll see.

Amazing. I held an event here (a masquerade ball) in the Dublin room upstairs. I was a little scared of this little pub - would it be the best location for this? I was so overwhelmed in DC on where to have the event, and this was the absolute BEST choice. The room was PERFECT (50-70 people) with private bar. The staff let me and helped me decorate all I wanted. The bartender was AMAZING (HEY ANDRES!). And Liz and Jayne who help coordinate events went out of their way to make this a special evening, including playing into the surprise with the guest of honor, making signs, and being so accommodating. They made some special things on the catering menu for us - and the food was all soooo good! Everyone loved it there. I highly recommend.

Pretty much my go-to for happy hour since it's usually pretty empty and relatively cheap. But, I recommend you don't stop there as I did for too long because they also have GREAT food. I mean - surprisingly great. Get the pretzel bites, always.

A surprise hit for happy hour. Always a pleasure to see a pub or restaurant put in the extra effort on decor, and this place did in spades. Fine detail inside, and no evidence they did anything on the cheap. Service was excellent - yep, actual Irishmen behind the counter. A friendly bunch staff the bar at Irish Whiskey. Atmosphere was good, but still had too much of that "new place" feel to it. I imagine over time they'll get a great set of regulars and it'll seem a bit more settled. I'd highly recommend.

Loved it! Very fun intimate feel, friendly service, and the food was amazing. I had the shepherds pie and the pretzel bites appetizer. Seriously delicious. And the filet my boyfriend had was crazy tasty. Definitely will be going back!
