"This restaurant's name was not simply plucked out of thin air; it refers to the US film Irma la Douce, which is based on the musical of the same name. A classically elegant decor bathed in a warm golden light creates a truly enchanting atmosphere that evokes the spirit of a bygone era. The atmosphere is pleasingly laid back, and top-notch service comes courtesy of friendly waitstaff. The cuisine draws on classic French influences, incorporating creative modern ideas. Flavourful dishes such as the melt-in-the-mouth bœuf bourguignon are prepared using the finest ingredients. The popular ‘Carbonara’ is also on the menu - reflecting the chef's origins. For dessert, the ‘Crème Brûlée’ is a favourite. The wine list is dominated by French labels, and you can count on astute recommendations. Tue. - Fri. there is a simple lunch menu." - Michelin Inspector
The MICHELIN Guide Germany 2021 unveils a wide new selection with special awards
"Berlin continues to be the front-runner in terms of stellar gastronomy. The high level of dining in the city is confirmed here by two new additions, Irma la Douce and faelt, among others." - Le Guide MICHELIN
I think this restaurant may be a victim of its own reputation. Nothing about it struck me as Michelin quality, least of all the food. Don’t get me wrong, it was fine. Simple dishes with no frills and unfortunately no interest either. The free water was a appreciated, but where I’m from that is the rule, not the exception.

Been wanting to try their special Mittagsmenu and it was very good value. On a beautiful day they’ve got outside seating and it’s a quaint lunch spot.
The mittagsmenu is very simplistic featuring limited number of items. Standout item is the duck and that was really well done rich in a sauce but creamy. Proper duck Coq au vin. I would not recommend the fish and chips being it just wasn’t that special nor tasty.
All in all great lunch spot and great Mittagsmenu deal. Without ordering drinks and just 2 mains you can easily spend under 40 euros.

Food on the simple side for Michelin dinner dining, but this might be different if one opts out of the classics set menu and goes à la carte. Enjoyed the wine pairing especially. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Decor and ambience were equally not over the top serious or tawdry, playful like the namesake film but in nuanced ways only.

I really enjoyed my dinner at Irma La Douce. The ambiance is very elegant and tasteful. The staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. I particularly liked the concept of composing your own menu. The portions were substantial, so I'd suggest that unless you are very, very hungry, you should just take a starter and a main dish. I was very full after four courses :)

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I enjoyed their champagne along with special asparagus dishes.
Oysters are fresh and nicely presented. The only downside side was tiramisu, which has nothing to do with the original tiramisu. It just confuses the taste and imagination of what was about to come

No better restaurant in Berlin for the money.
The most relaxed and comfortable of the Michelin-stars, and probably the most reasonably priced.
Strsightforward lunch menu delivers twice the goodness at half the price of other high end restaurants.
Dinner is more elaborate but also straightforward, excellent and a joy.
The restaurant is a touch understaffed, though it hardly detracts from the experience.
Highly recommended.

Everything was great!
Amazing service, nice menu selection. It’s also la carte, unlike many of the Michelin star restaurants which gives you an opportunity to choose everything according to your taste and preferences.
The food was great, beautifully served and very well cooked. Just like in French hidden restaurants for locals only.
If you expect perfectly replicated classy french cuisine - that’s the ideal place.
If you look for something mind blowing or to find some unique taste combos - that wouldn’t be the right place.
P.S. the oysters were incredible, full of taste and flavors

What an amazing place. One of the few Michelin star restaurant where you can eat a la carte. The Bouillabaisse was outstanding. All courses were an experience for the palate. The entire team is excellent and you can see their passion for food and wine. I had a really memorable evening. Thanks!
