Yelp
I wouldn't say that Iron Hill quite qualifies as a gastropub, but it is a restaurant/bar that has a more varied and superior menu vs. the typical bar or sports bar.
In addition to a great selection of beers, Iron Hill has a big menu that includes the usual "comfort" foods like big burgers, plus a surprising selection of rotating soups, fish, and vegetarian options, all delivered with a smile and prepared fresh, if not with the deftest of hands.
By that I mean that your food may be made with great ingredients, but might also be just a bit over-salted, over-cooked, or in the case of salads, over-dressed (do yourself a favor and remember to get and salad dressings on the side, and ask that fish be lightly cooked, then you'll be happy).
That said, this is a reliable and much needed bar/restaurant in the area, especially if you have a group with varied tastes. I just wouldn't call it a destination.
Other Food notes:
The Grilled North Atlantic Salmon Salad is a misguided kitchen sink of strong flavors: severely overdressed spicy arugula with otherwise Greek ingredients like onions, kalamata olives, feta and peppers that are more suited to a romaine salad, plus soggy potato sticks on top! Still, ask for the salmon lightly cooked and the dressing on the side and you'll have a nice meal.
The Falafel Burger (good marketing for a veggie patty) is a nice vegetarian option. Just don't expect to be able to pick up the huge chickpea patty between two pieces of nan without having it all fall apart.
Naked Sliders are a relatively guilt free way to get your Burger fix.
A special kale quinoa bowl makes for a delicious guilt free lunch if it's available.
