"Some might know Iron Horse more as a cocktail bar, but this spot also doubles as a coffee shop during the day, serving espressos, Americanos, lattes, and more, using beans from Ritual. And while this is all fine and good, those in the know order one of the cafe’s boozy coffees before it closes at 2:30 p.m., perfect for an afternoon stroll." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri
Really great place to eat. Their chicken fried steak is the best around. And homemade country gravy!!! My hubby had fried Walleye and he said it was fabulous! Very reasonably priced. Our server Jeff was so great. We will definitely be back

The food tasted very good. The owner took the time to chat with us and he was very friendly which, as Hispanic, it means a lot. This is a family business with a great history and the owner made us feel as part of it. If you’re driving by Hooper, NE. make sure to visit this dining place.

Decent little place. Salad didn't come out as advertised on the menu. Only one person was running the place but she was friendly and trying. Fish sandwich and taco bowl were good.

We only had a couple of drinks, but love the atmosphere of the Iron House. Awesome old building with tons of character.

Yelp
Very clean, very friendly staff, exceptionally good food. Very nostalgic with many old photos and reminders of the past. One of the very few places I have found in a long time with a real hand breaded tenderloin sandwich.
Reasonable prices, large portions, and great food.

Yelp
Best breakfast in town (only breakfast in town). Super consistent always tasty and the Bloody Mary's are on point. Owner has a great sense of humor and is always ready to tell some jokes. It's walking distances which is a huge plus

Yelp
Ate there for the first time Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. Prompt service and the food was outstanding. Had 2 hungry boys with me and they got full! That never happens! Will go back soon!

Yelp
Came here for a family reunion. Service was excellent despite us having such a large party. Ordered the chicken fried steak, which was cooked perfectly. It had a nice, homey feel inside with art and photos from the past. I enjoyed looking around after my meal. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Good hamburger. We are on a hamburger tour of small town bars and restaurants, and I give it a solid 4 stars for local color, good presentation, and generous lettuce and tomatoes with the deluxe cheeseburger. French fries are just that.... no special seasoning...good plain old fries.
Local color and focus on history is really appreciated. Lots of Hooper mementos.

Yelp
I love this place. It has a really cool ambience with all the old photographs and memorabilia all over the building. It is pretty good sized so if you are having a gathering it is a good place to go. Good steakhouse items and more. Very friendly atmosphere. They also do some really good brunch buffets and there is an area to sit outside. No matter how many times I go, I am caught up in looking at all the historic decor from the area. This town is fortunate in having some really good restaurants for its size. Worth the trip.
