"Irregardless Biscuit Co. recently opened its permanent location at 94 Carpenter Street in Providence’s West End. Known for its 'Southern & More Southern' offerings, the restaurant serves sandwiches on biscuits made from a family recipe, along with other treats like giant cookies. The venue was previously home to the Kitchen, a beloved breakfast spot. The restaurant has quickly gained popularity, selling out 300 biscuits daily within hours of opening. Co-owners James Dean and Joe Hafner, along with their team, renovated the 900-square-foot space to offer a vintage vibe with custom tables and a bar rail." - Nathan Tavares

Definitely worth the drive. If you want a delicious breakfast sandwich made with an outstanding biscuit this is your place. Chatted with the owner prior to getting in. Please open one closer to Tiverton, RI. Get there early line starts before opening. Yummy.

Fantastic food! We loved everything we tried. Biscuits with sausage gravy had the perfect texture and the gravy had a hint of pepper spice that was divine. The Howard comes with the thickest bacon I’ve ever seen and was a great balance of sweet/savory. Strawberry butter biscuit was the perfect dessert but honestly we were stuff after the first biscuits (just ate this because of how good everything was). Coffee was also really good! The dining room is small so plan on a little wait or take out but the atmosphere is relaxed. Service was fantastic. 10/10

Now open in what was very popular Kitchen - completely remodeled - ordering is done at the counter - large menu of biscuit sandwiches. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit. Biscuits are made on site and are delicious. Everything is served in takeout containers- there are a couple of tables to sit and eat there. Space is tight. Currently open Fri, Sat & Sun - 9 to 3, or until they sell out. Hours will be expanded over the next couple of months. Serving both breakfast and lunch biscuits. Check them out if you are a biscuit fan or just need a good breakfast. Visited again- they have been open about a month. They have added to their menu - place was hopping on a Sat early afternoon. Tried the hash browns- which can be added to the biscuit or as a side. They are typical hash browns- with paprika and salt added. Biscuit was good - slightly overcooked and both it and the hash brown were over salted.

Went on a Friday and got there about 8:45 am and was about 20 people in line. When the doors opened it didn’t take long maybe 10-15 more minutes. I ordered the egg and cheese and Maple Fennel Chicken Sausage, Egg. & Cheese. I also ordered a cold brew coffee. The sandwiches were great and so was the coffee. I then ordered a 3rd biscuit with sausage gravy and that was also very good. I will definitely go back and try some more biscuits sandwiches. On Friday I feel like they should open earlier probably would be better for business, maybe 7am but I’m sure they will figure it out what’s best. I also tried a cookie which was delicious.

Hard to follow up the legacy of the Kitchen, but Irregardless is a worthy successor. The biscuits are the highlight of the menu, and they have a good selection of breakfast sandwich options on their delicious biscuits. The fried green tomato sandwich is my favorite so far, but the real pro move is getting just the biscuit and hot honey, and then taking it home and adding whatever else you want. They also have some great coffee as well. If you’re in the mood for a biscuit, there’s no better place in Providence to get one.

Irregardless is a must visit, but get there before they open because they sell out way earlier than there posted closing time. The sandwich I got was Phil’s biscuit with a piece of fried chicken that was smothered in sausage gravy. ($10) Very good overall and the gravy was tasty, but the quality of the chicken was not great. The chicken wasn’t that juicy and there were some tough pieces. The exterior was crispy though. However, the biscuit was no joke. It was so buttery, so airy, pretty large and just perfection. So everything was 10 out of 10 except the chicken. They have other sandwiches and you can get just the biscuit with some butter and hot honey for only $4.

One of the best service experiences I’ve had. Visiting my sister up here from Pennsylvania to spend the weekend and we decided to stop here for breakfast. Best bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit I’ve ever had. Great value for the amount. Service was great and employees were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend.

Went with some friends on a Sunday morning. Very small space inside with a handful of tables so we got take out. We arrived at 9:30 AM and the long line was already out the door. It took an hour and a half from making the line to getting our food and by the time it was 11 AM the owner came out to announce that they sold out of biscuits so the remaining people in line had to leave. I got the hot honey fried chicken biscuit and the chicken sausage + egg + cheese biscuit. The chicken breast was cooked well: juicy, tender, and well seasoned but eating it with both biscuits made it overall dry to eat. Also, the hot honey was not spicy enough for my taste. The moisture of the honey + the moisture of the chicken were not enough to combat the dryness of the biscuits. I think eating this with only 1 biscuit or perhaps adding more of the chicken's frying oil to the biscuits would've helped. The sausage + egg + cheese did not suffer from dryness issues. The fat content of the sausage + the oil from the fried egg helped moisten the biscuits and made it more enjoyable to eat than the other one. The sausage itself tasted great and if I come back, I'll order this one instead. In my opinion, both biscuit sandwiches were fine; nothing spectacular. The staff and owner seemed very nice and it looked like they were trying their best despite being swamped by customers. I don't think it's worth waiting 1.5 hours for these biscuits so, given all the hype, I don't see myself returning any time soon.

Yelp
I'm so very happy I found this little gem of a place while in town from NY! I had a Phil's Biscuit and my sis had a Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit. I have to say that these biscuit sandwiches were thee best I ever had in my life! And that sausage gravy was out of this world! Service was fast and the staff we so very helpful. Thank you so much for such a tasty and and satisfying experience, we will definitely be back when we are in town again, that's a promise!

Yelp
I just want to point out I said it was the best breakfast sandwich in the state before RI Monthly did. Congrats to the amazing team at Irregardless Biscuit. Can't think of a more deserving group of people to be awarded for their work and love they put into their food. Oh, and try their tacos too. There's nothing they don't excel at!

Yelp
I came hungry and ready to eat! I got the chicken and hot honey biscuits along with the Hasbrown and hibiscus tea. I was pleasantly surprised to get the delicious cinnamon sweet cookie~ I wish I had a whole box. (Where can I find more?!) the chicken hot honey biscuit was beautiful, savory, and sweet. The biscuit, after a couple of bites, would break into pieces leaving me with just handfuls of chickens but it was good to grab a piece and dip in the honey at the bottom. Prepare for sticky hands. Hashbrown was good and simple. Staff were so kind and friendly, asking for how the food was, and I noticed they maintained the shop clean, with every table being wiped down. There was a bucket of wet wipes for those with sticky hands~ the condiment area is clean and organized

Yelp
Rating 4.3 Came to try this place for lunch since we've been meaning to try for a while. Not a big biscuit fan but it has great reviews so we gave it a try. The place is located in providence and is very small so don't miss it. There are only 4 seatings so may be good for take out on busy times. We lucked out and wasn't too busy so we sat down to eat. We ordered the hibiscus teas, Fried chicken with hot honey and Howard biscuit sandwiches with side of hash browns. Hibiscus tea was good. Nice flavors of hibiscus with hint of sweetness. Also it came with a small cinnamon sugar cookie which was a nice surprise. The hash browns were crispy and savory. The Howard sandwich was good especially with their homemade hot sauce and ketchup/hot honey. However I was not too crazy about the bacon as it was pretty dry so I would try something else next time. My partner's hot chicken sandwich was better as the chicken was juicy. Your hands get pretty messy so make sure to grab some napkins and some wet towel which they provide. Service was great as it was quick and guys were nice. Overall I liked the place and would come back to try other stuff on the menu. Only thing for me was that the stuff can be heavy and greasy because of the nature of biscuit and Fried food and that it was not anything out of ordinary that I've had before. Otherwise a solid place

Yelp
First visit to Irregardless and won't be my last. This hole in the wall gem was everything I wanted and more. My wife and I visited on a rainy Saturday morning so there wasn't a crowd and we were able to sit down inside. It's a small space with a few tables, colorful decor and you have the bustling kitchen situated right by you busting through orders. I ordered the Howard's Biscuit ($11) since it seems like their flagship item and it was on point. 10/10 from me. The bacon they have on there is only something you can get if you cured it at home yourself. It is THICK. You can't buy it like that- the black pepper on it was a great touch to contrast the sweet maple syrup. The bottom biscuit sits in a shallow bed of maple syrup (get extra napkins) and it soaks up all that deliciousness. Texturally this was nice with the biscuit a little softer on the bottom and the top biscuit kept a little crunch. Don't come into this expecting a flaky delicate buttery biscuit, they have to hold up to egg, cheese and a couple ounces of bacon. You pick this bad boy up and eat it with your hands, not meant for fork and knife (I suppose you can if you really want to though). My wife ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and added an egg onto it. Since her biscuit wasn't sitting in a bed of maple syrup, hers did stay firmer. I tasted it and it was dang tasty with that smoky aioli. The firmness of the biscuit was her only complaint and I kind of get it in this case because there weren't any sauces softening up that bottom biscuit. I'll absolutely be back. They have a good thing going here, staff is super friendly, you put your order in and it practically goes directly to the kitchen, it's just an all around cool atmosphere and they make some great food.

Yelp
This PVD gem serves some delicious biscuit sandwiches and coffee. This is a self-service (order at the counter,) and pick-up restaurant. There is a small dining area (see photo,) the ambiance is diner like but after you sink your taste buds into one of their delicious, mouth watering biscuits, you wouldn't care if you were sitting on a rock eating it lol! I am a black coffee drinker so it needs to be good. Their Nitro coffee is excellent. I will definitely be returning and recommending this great little place to all my friends and family.

Yelp
I arrived at Irregardless Biscuit on Sunday around 9:45 AM and there were only a few people in line already. In about 5 minutes, I was in and ordered with the staff. It smelled so good. Inside, there are only a few small tables for dining in. We waited on the side for about 2 minutes for a table to open up. My name was called about 5 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese (S.E.C.) Biscuit with the addition of hash brown in it. My husband had the Howards Biscuit which has extra thick cut black pepper & maple glazed bacon, egg and cheese. The S.E.C. was $12.00, the Howards Biscuit was $13, and $2 for the addition of hash brown in the biscuits. The biscuit was so soft and fluffy and every bite was so delicious. I also got the Hibiscus Tea for $4.00 and this drink was so refreshing. A cookie also came with the Hibiscus Tea and it was a nice complement. There were definitely influxes of people coming in and ordering. I can't wait to come back and try their other biscuits.

Yelp
WOW! Small building but mighty! So many options to choose from! We ordered right away with no line around 11 am on a Saturday. The biscuit was AMAZING legit the best I've ever had! Also it came out fast. I loved the combo of hot honey and chicken! There are 4 small tables inside with seating. Free parking on the street! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
A tiny place tucked away in a corner making biscuits and playing old hiphop? I feel attacked. Some friends told us about this, as they know that I have strong feelings about biscuits as a southerner. I wasn't exactly disappointed, but I wasn't blown away either. I ordered a biscuit sandwich, which was around $10. It was really a lot larger than it needed to be, and the addition of maple syrup made it even harder to handle. It was alright, but the biscuits are dry on top. There are also just too many things going on at once; there's egg, sausage, cheese, maple syrup, and all of the grease makes the biscuit want to return to dough. In the end, the bite is just not very pleasant. I know everyone wants to portray southern food as this "hey y'all" excess, but it gets old. It seems that someone here has tried really hard to nail lard/buttermilk biscuits (even though they still need to be dialed in), but then they've been let down by the impulse to shove twenty different southern cuisine tropes into one biscuit. I would honestly be willing to try again here, but I would likely just get a solo biscuit. They do have a really nice New Orleans-style iced coffee that even comes with a little cookie that's like an homage to Winston-Salem Moravian cookies and New Orleans stage planks all in one. That I would have again without hesitation.

Yelp
I have been waiting to try this place! Tried a couple of weekends ago and the line was 20 people deep so today I planned ahead and arrived close to opening. The line does move quickly! I consider myself a biscuit elitist, a non-New Englander who grew up with southern food. These biscuits deliver! Well cooked, nice crust, not overly greasy. The portion of food is worth about $10 a biscuit! We got hashbrowns as well, and the cashier recommended cheese sauce. I honestly didn't find much use for the cheese sauce with my meal but took it home and ate it up later with some chips! We did the fried green tomato biscuit (added bacon) and the Howard. I'm a sucker for a fried green tomato and this hit the spot. Will be back to try others!

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich...ever?! The bacon-fuccckkkk-just get it. The chicken was insanely moist-sorry, I know people hate that word. Line moves quick and your food comes out even faster. Ive been trying to find a hibiscus iced tea like they use to serve at Winna Winna and at last I have found it. Loved the extra special touch of the thin cookie on top. My only regret was not getting some plain biscuits with that strawberry butter to have for later. Will be back, probably tomorrow.

Matt L.

Yelp
Best biscuit sandwich I've had in Rhode Island, I think. The fillings feel luxurious and generous. The bacon in the biscuit sandwich was a THICK cut. I waited about 30 minutes in line starting at 9:30 and I'd say, it was worth the wait. The line ebbs and flows in the wait time, depending on when you get there. Bring a friend, chat while on line (it moves at a relatively decent pace--that kitchen is MOVING), and it's a really good way to start off your weekend morning.

Yelp
It's been a long six month wait for the opening of Irregardless Biscuit since they closed their pop up and announced their brick and mortar location. The quality is EXACTLY the same, if not better. Do anticipate a wait in line for the first few weeks after opening, but trust that it is worth it. I've literally never had a fried chicken biscuit as good. All the staff is so friendly and humbled with the chaos of opening week. The shop fits about 4 tables but go early if you want to snag a seat. Everything is perfectly seasoned and made with love. Across the street there is a parking lot that does have some designated spots, but street parking wasn't an issue. So happy they are open again and already can't wait to go back next week!

Robert G.

Yelp
When it comes to biscuits I'm more of a bottom, bottom slice that is. Irregardless Biscuit has flaky, fluffy, and buttery biscuits that you can sandwich around egg and cheese, fried chicken, sausage gravy, or just by itself with butter. We ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese and Phil's Biscuit which had fried chicken and sausage gravy. Both of our sandwiches were so delicious and filling. The hash browns were excellent, just the right amount of crunch on the outside. I loved the toffee chocolate chip cookie as well. The shop has tables inside but they are small and very close to one another. I would say this is more of a to-go place.

Grant T.

Yelp
Just decided to try something new and what a great find Irregardless Biscuit is. It is a great little place with friendly owner and team. They've got just the right menu to please a lot of different tastes on their signature biscuits. Being from NJ, when I saw a sandwich with pork roll, I had to try it. Perfect in every way and having it on a biscuit was fantastic. The hashbrowns were a treat, with a surprise bit of seasoning instead of just plain potatoes. The Nola coffee was just the right amount of chicory syrup and cream as to not be too sweet. Definitely will be back!

Anna R.

Yelp
Love love love the thick cut bacon, didn't have the greasiness issue mentioned in some other reviews- just delicious.

Peter L.

Yelp
Ordered a special biscuit with arugula, heirloom tomato and thick-cut bacon. Absolutely delicious - but I wish the biscuit didn't collapse as soon as I picked it up. Oh well, irregardless of that ...

Amber C.

Yelp
I was very excited for a biscuit place to open up in Providence! I am from the South, so I love a good biscuit. The vibes and customer service at this restaurant really deliver great Southern hospitality. I felt right at home. However, the biscuits themselves were not as impressive to me. General info: this is a essentially a take-out only establishment. There are a few seats in the house, but not too much and it's a grab and go place. I came on a rainy weekend morning and there was a line out the door, but it was a short wait because service moves really fast. Food: biscuits were not as buttery and flakey as I would have liked. It could have been because they were sitting out for a while. Because of the grab-and-go nature of this place, they just had a bunch of biscuits sitting out, and a bunch of biscuits being made in the back. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuit was room temp, not buttery or flakey. The gravy was also room temp, not warm or as appetizing as the typical southern sausage gravy. My boyfriend ordered the Howard's biscuit which was pretty good! The thick cut bacon was honestly probably the best part - was VERY thick and flavorful. I ended up eating more of that than my biscuit and gravy. Parking: street parking around the neighborhood. Overall: I really really wanted to like this place more because I LOVE biscuits and there isn't a great biscuit place here yet that I've tried. The vibes are great and the workers are so kind and have great hospitality!! Maybe if the biscuits were made more fresh/buttery/flakey, then the lines would move slower though - so it sounds like there's always a trade off. I'm willing to give this place another try in the future though and will update my review if it changes!

Vijay S.

Yelp
Glad there's a breakfast place in this spot again. It's mainly a biscuit shop, as suggested by the name. I got the fried chicken biscuit with honey. The biscuit was delicious and quite filling, though in retrospect I should have gotten the honey on the side. I would get the biscuit with sausage and gravy next time. The space inside is small, and there might be a little wait before the food comes, but overall, it's worth it. The service is great.

Will B.

Yelp
Had to come here twice before actually getting any food, but it was so worth it. The first time was my fault as an amateur - I got there around noon on their grand opening and they were already sold out. The second time we got there 15 mins before open and there was already a long line out the door. I didn't mind the line because we met a lot of friendly people and likeminded foodies. We had the fried chicken and hot honey biscuit, Phil's biscuit with fried chicken and sausage gravy, and Howard's biscuit, which is what really stole the show for me. The chicken ones were great, but Howard's was the one that I thought had that "special" factor. The extra thick cut bacon, which is really more like giant chunks of melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, smothered in a house maple and pepper jam that just works so well, put together with the egg, american cheese, and buttery biscuit and you have the most (literally) heart-stopping breakfast sandwich in Providence. Don't sleep on the NOLA cold brew either! Really good coffee. We also grabbed one of the giant chocolate chip cookies since it came fresh out of the oven, and it was one of the better ones I've ever had. The space itself is small like a train car and has simple decor. We were lucky enough to be able to get a seat at one of the four or five tables, which was key because we wanted more hot honey. Given how busy they are, I almost expected rude service, but everyone was so nice - warm southern charm and comfort food to perfectly kick off a cold winter morning.

Joseph J.

Yelp
Hyper-friendly and accommodating. Almost like a movie set, the whole staff bantering and laughing but at the same time completely attentive and on the ball. And, as if it were an afterthought: Absolutely delicious food!!!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
I wish I could remember to take pictures when I eat here, but it's always so amazing. Every one is so friendly & kind it's a special little place. It's tiny, cozy & always so welcoming with southern aromas welcoming you from the corner...if you haven't tried it you don't know what you're missing!

Diane M.

Yelp
So my hairdresser raved about this establishment. She and I share our reviews about eateries often. And this was sure 'nuff a winner. She instructed me they're only open on weekends and the line gets long. ( It is in the same place Kitchen was, which was my favorite place for not only for the food but also the vibes!) So surprisingly I was second, in line, to a couple. Well , I guess I was third in line. Nonetheless, I made it inside. ( Sadly, I noticed how the present owners paid homage to the late owner of Kitchen by having his door opener, a large spoon, on a shelf, in the front window. A beautiful reminder that George is still blessing the food.) So I ordered a chicken sausage biscuit with fennel, a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a biscuit w strawberry jam. I added a coffee but was disappointed there was no sugar to put into my coffee. The biscuits are humongous but crispy and very good. One lasted me through two meals. I'm not really a biscuit eater but I was auditioning these for my daughter's baby shower--and she loves LOVES biscuits. I'm a texture person so the crispiness won me over big time. The staff is very nice and welcoming. I thought the prices were high( I spent over $35 on the aforementioned items but again, the portions are huge. Overall, I think this was a winner and George would be happy.

Courtney N.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday morning 10:30am. Short line but moved quickly. Such a great spot with super nice staff. The thick cut black pepper bacon was out of this world.

Steph A.

Yelp
I have been searching for a biscuit like this for as long as I can remember. The kind of biscuit that is firm but delicate and able to be picked up with both hands without breaking apart. The biscuits they put out meet All of that criteria and more. The amount of buttery goodness you get with each bite is unreal. You can tell the use incredible products and really care about the end result that they are putting out. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with their candied bacon on it and it was superb. I also had a plain biscuit with jam and butter and it was amazing. Such a cute and lovely spot for an amazing breakfast, just get there early as they are open until they sell out.

Meg S.

Yelp
Great little spot, got an awesome sausage, egg and cheese and the sausage was clearly specialty made. The hibiscus tea with a little cookie on it was also excellent. And the hot honey is godsent, of course. Very small spot that was filled up at 10:30 on a random Friday so I can only imagine the weekends are wild but worth it. Food came out quick and hot.

Debra M.

Yelp
Omg! You need to get this. The biscuit is crunchy and crumbly, the bacon is the best I've ever had. This sandwich is heaven. You might gain 5 lbs and go to heaven after this but at least you will die happy

Debra B.

Yelp
Delicious! My husband and I shared one egg, bacon and biscuit and one biscuit with butter and hot honey. FYI-The hot honey is spicy, not warmed up honey. The place is small, only 3-4 tables. Line goes fast. Service was quick for pickup. We ate in our car. Lots of parking across the street.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Irregardless is my new favorite breakfast place and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The biscuits of course steal the show, but the variety of options have made every visit unique and delicious. I've tried the Howard's (Slab Bacon, Egg, and Cheese), South Philly (Taylor ham, egg, cheddar hot sauce), the Fried Chicken with Sausage gravy, and the fennel sausage with an egg and cheese. All have been absolutely amazing. The type of savory rich comfort food you dream off. Every interaction I've had with the staff there has been amazing. Before they moved to this spot the of the lead cooks used to give us cheese for our dogs when we walked down Broadway. My second time in the new location it was loud and my order was misheard. They fixed it quickly and threw in a bunch of free cookies and an extra biscuit which was an unneeded but pleasant surprise. Tipping culture at counter service stores has gotten out of hand but everyone here hustles and deserves a 20 percent tip. Treat yourself and try this place out you won't regret it.

K D.

Yelp
Simply divine. The buscuits are so fluffy and light. Favorite is the fried green tomato sandwich which they make to order.

Tess B.

Yelp
Few things are more beloved in my casa than a good biscuit. If you haven't been - you need to go to Irregardless Biscuit. I like going on Friday and getting biscuits for the weekend. They reheat perfectly. Today they made me a chicken and fried green tomato biscuit with cheddar. When I tell you it was a holy experience - believe me. Oh and the little thin scalloped wafer cookie on top of the coffee - the chef's kiss. Super efficient, kind passionate staff. 15 on a 10 point scale.

Renee M.

Yelp
For my first time, I hoping for a more delicious and favorable bite; however, I did not get it. First, the bacon was burnt. Second, the biscuit was a bit crunchy.

Luis D.

Yelp
Biscuits outta here! Quality chicken sausage! I'm adding the cooper cheese next time!

Loren N.

Yelp
Super tiny place with more than enough personality to compensate. Went there on a Friday morning with my 2 y/o son and was in and out before he had enough time for a meltdown. Well worth the trip and plan on going back to try something else off the menu.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Just what Rhode Island needed! The best biscuits in New England. Everything tasted great. The service was excellent, everyone was very kind. And definitely worth the wait. 10/10!!! A must try!

Brianne E.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We loved everything we tried. Biscuits with sausage gravy had the perfect texture and the gravy had a hint of pepper spice that was divine. The Howard comes with the thickest bacon I've ever seen and was a great balance of sweet/savory. Strawberry butter biscuit was the perfect dessert but honestly we were stuff after the first biscuits (just ate this because of how good everything was). Coffee was also really good! The dining room is small so plan on a little wait or take out but the atmosphere is relaxed. Service was fantastic. 10/10

Zachary S.

Yelp
The best biscuit you will find north of the Carolina's. Perhaps even the best breakfast I've had since moving into the New England area

Kathleen E.

Yelp
Omg I thought I died and went to Heaven. Best RI biscuits!!!!! Every bite is fresh and being from the south you guys ARE very close

Billy F.

Yelp
By far the worst egg sandwich I ever had and the hasbrowns were cold and hard as a brick.20 bucks wasted badly

Susanna B.

Yelp
The texture of these biscuits is superb. I wish I had ordered more to take home! Run don't walk to Irregardless!
