Had to come here twice before actually getting any food, but it was so worth it. The first time was my fault as an amateur - I got there around noon on their grand opening and they were already sold out. The second time we got there 15 mins before open and there was already a long line out the door. I didn't mind the line because we met a lot of friendly people and likeminded foodies.
We had the fried chicken and hot honey biscuit, Phil's biscuit with fried chicken and sausage gravy, and Howard's biscuit, which is what really stole the show for me. The chicken ones were great, but Howard's was the one that I thought had that "special" factor. The extra thick cut bacon, which is really more like giant chunks of melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, smothered in a house maple and pepper jam that just works so well, put together with the egg, american cheese, and buttery biscuit and you have the most (literally) heart-stopping breakfast sandwich in Providence. Don't sleep on the NOLA cold brew either! Really good coffee. We also grabbed one of the giant chocolate chip cookies since it came fresh out of the oven, and it was one of the better ones I've ever had.
The space itself is small like a train car and has simple decor. We were lucky enough to be able to get a seat at one of the four or five tables, which was key because we wanted more hot honey. Given how busy they are, I almost expected rude service, but everyone was so nice - warm southern charm and comfort food to perfectly kick off a cold winter morning.
