Google
Great menu selection if burgers or make your own option. I hade the pastrami sandwich which was delicious. My wife had a build your own burger with tater tots. The staff was so helpful in providing a to go box for our crows at home that will eat almost anything

Google
I got ripped off, I paid like $20 for a 8 ounce pastrami sandwich and thats not what I got, maybe they gave me someone else order, maybe two ounces tops. Disspointed and will never order again... unacceptable given their prices, oh and I called and they don’t answer at all, called multiple times, all went to voicemail, except one which they answered then instantly hung up, like what the heck???

Google
Similar to a burger you might find at an old fashioned diner- pressed on a flat top, seasoned perfectly, and definitely affordable for the portion size. I had a double (+Hatch Chilis) but likely would have been pleased with a single. Shoestring fries were hot and crispy, staff was kind and informative which is always a plus! There is no shortage of good burgers in Pacific Beach but this one should be added to the rotation, particularly if you are minding your wallet.

Google
Great burger place in PB. We had the best burger on the menu. Very flavorful, soft buns, and crispy smash burger patty. Onions and pickles had a nice touch. Really like the cheese dip for the fries and their ranch was delicious. Onion rings were also great but felt like a small portion for the price but other than that, I recommend you check it you if you’re in the area!

Google
Without a doubt, this is the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten. The name of the burger I got was called “The Best Burger on the Menu,” named after a scene in the movie, The Menu.” The guy behind the counter was super nice and had lots of information About the menu and the history of the franchise. I will stop here every time I’m in San Diego.

Google
I recently visited this spot, and it was fantastic! **Burgers:** 🍔 The burgers was a smash burger, very juicy and delicious, with other varieties to choose from. **French Fries:** 🍟 The fries were crispy, cheese fries were good and the chili fries were great. I forgot to ask for the hatch green Chile on my cheese fries. **Shakes:** 🥤 The shakes were amazing—creamy and full of flavor. **Overall:** Great food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
A commendable smash burger. Super crispy edges. Got the 'world best'. Wish I got the next one up as I prefer lettuce and tomatoes to balance it out. Glad there is a decent smash much closer than Smash&Dash.

John Leerskov

Google
Burger was phenomenal, super crispy, juicy, and packed full of flavor. Fries weren’t too good they were more chewy than crispy. tater tots were much better

Yelp
If you live in Pacific Beach or are visiting, you have to try Irv's Burgers! I am not someone that goes crazy for burgers but sometimes you are craving one. I didn't want just any burger but a truly delicious one that tasted homeade and that was packed with flavor! My time had arrived because I always drove by wondering what this place was all about. And, one of my all-time favorite pizza places is next door, Prince Street Pizza. Well, I was patiently driving around to find a parking spot which I was finally fortunate to do, and it was not too far away to walk there. I noticed on the menu Irv's offers turkey burgers. I was so overjoyed because not too many places offer turkey burgess. I got my burger and the first bite was well "Love At First Bite!" This burger had mild green chilis with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I did skip the cheese but if you desire cheese, hey have that too! The burger was juicy, had so much flavor, the green chilis gave it added flavor but you don't need to have those if you don't want them. They do add a wonderful, zesty flavor and they are mild tasting. The sesame bun was perfect also. It was an all-around flavorful, juicy, delicious, and homemade tasting burger you feel satisfied for the whole day! The man who was behind the register I believe his name was Richard was friendly, helpful, informative, and professional. I received service with a smile. I asked him to give me the history behind this cute little dining spot and it was fascinating to hear how Irv's came to be. It originated in the Los Angeles area by a young woman who founded the dining spot with all types of people to also include celebrities who dined and enjoyed Irv's also! Although, it has changed in ways over the years, this iconic burger joint is still around today serving the Pacific Beach community with "Award-winning" hamburgers and tasty food! You can be experience this deliciousness too, just make it a plan go to Irv's ASAP TODAY!

Yelp
Visited 12/18/2024 Well thought this was going to be just another burger place but was wrong. Great place just up the street from Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. Nice menu of their specialty Burgers and Sandwiches and Much more. Special ground Meat mixture for all burgers. House made Dipping and sandwich Sauces. Hand Made Super Creamy Shakes. Very Much Worth a Visit.

Yelp
In a word, Horrible. See the photos, they did not even melt the cheese on the cheeseburger. The burger was bland and tasteless, I honestly expected more. No grilled onions and the bun is not toasted. Jack-in-the-Box, is much better for $8.88.
google avatar

Yelp
I fear this place was not as good as I anticipated. The burger was alright and a bit overpriced. The milkshake was delightful (duh), but did not find this smash burger to be astounding.

Yelp
Finally tried out Irv's Burgers that opened up right on Garnett Avenue this weekend. For a Friday night we were surprised that there was no line at all at 8 PM. We were able to order right away and waited around 15 minutes for our to go order to be ready. It came out to around $40 for a patty melt, cheeseburger, fries and onion rings, which I felt was a little steep. The flavor was great for the patty melt and the cheeseburger. I do wish the fries were a little crispier and they gave us a few more onion rings. Overall, there's a lot of great burger spots in PB, so I won't be running back here but I did very much enjoy my meal.

Yelp
Average food Nothing stood out It was decent, not good or bad. Chili cheese fries were the best thing. Fries are average and burger is better than your average burger but didn't stand out. Service is good. Everyone was welcoming and polite. Decent amount of seating.

Yelp
Irv's Burgers is an LA area import that was established 78 years ago. The business has inherited one of the stalls at the Mission + Garnet Food Hall in PB. Along with a famous out-of-state pizza chain, they are now the anchor tenants to the facility with a rotating sign on the southwest corner advertising their presence. One stall has been converted to a sit-down dining area where customers can enjoy their food/drink on-site. Burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, floats, and milkshakes were the main categories. I chose one of the four burgers and one of the two hot dogs for my meal. Best Burger on "The Menu" was a pressed to order double 1/4 pound patty with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and Irv's sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun. The best part of this item was the crispy edges to the meat from being smashed on the flat top grill. Irv's Dog was an all-beef Hebrew National frank served on a buttered and toasted bun. It was very plain and underwhelming for $5. I didn't encounter any service issues or a significant wait for my food. The staff seemed efficient and pleasant. If I were to return for another visit, then it would be to try one of the floats or shakes and not a homemade chocolate chip cookie priced at $5.50. Four stars for the Best Burger on "The Menu" and two stars for the Irv's Dog equals an overall three star rating for Irv's Burgers.

Yelp
Average Burger place. For one combo and one single roadside Burger it was $30. So I don't really love the prices. As for the food we got the best menu Burger which is a Smashburger and it was just okay. I love a good Smashburger and I probably will not go here and order this again. The cheese fries we're good. That's actually probably my favorite part of the meal. The service was decent. The two guys working at the counter were very friendly and helpful with the menu. However wait time for the food was rather slow. They said it'll be 7 minutes and it ended up being about 16 minutes. There is parking In the lot or on the street but it is pay parking as they've meters on the street and you have to pay to park in the lot period if you go over a block on a side street then it is free to park but know that it's by the beach so Place gets packed. I live nearby so I just walked. It is mostly outdoor seating which we had no problem finding a table. I saw there also was a dining area inside but I did not go inside to see how much seating is in there.

Yelp
I've heard comparisons of this place to a local favorite: THE FRIENDLY so we decided to try it. It takes over the mission + garnet food hall next to Prince st Pizza. Parking is a little tough but anywhere in PB is tough. We ordered the "best burger on the menu" and the original burger subbed with grilled onions. The "best burger" is VERY SIMILAR to the friendly's but maybe a tad bigger and fancier bun. I have a little more bias to the friendly as it was my first smash burger but I liked that this bun didn't get soggy. It's also in a more convenient location if I were to bar hop around PB. The original burger was good but mid(?) it's not bad, just your average joe burger. I liked that it didn't make me feel heavy / meat sweats compared to a regular plain smash burger though. Service is pretty fast as well with mustard and ketchup self serve on the side. Food was ready in about 10 minutes.

Yelp
I enjoyed a nice old school patty melt from Irv's Burgers. I am glad to learn that places like Irv's are still offering old school, but great menu items, like the traditional patty melt on griddle rye bread. The patty is a classic in American diner scene. For only $11.50, they double up the all beef quality patties for this patty sandwich and include melted American cheese, tender grilled onions, Irv's sauce, and toasted rye bread. I asked for the sauce on the side. The patty melt was delicious indeed. I loved the exterior crunch of the rye bread and its flavor. They did it right here. The meat was tender and juicy, and the grilled onions were outstanding. I would put those onions on any burger. Every bite of this patty melt was delicious. The service is friendly enough, but a more welcoming sense of enthusiasm would be appreciated.

Yelp
Worst restaurant experience ever. I ordered the single classic burger to go but not dairy whatsoever. I get home and theres cheese on it. I drive all the way back and ask for a refund and for them to remake. They apologized and remade it. I didnt think to check their work because, i assumed they wouldn't mess it up again. I get home and theres cheese on it AGAIN and its the wrong burger and is missing ingredients!! There are two patties and only pickles, bun, and meat. Arent they supposed to have lettuce and tomato? Am I losing my mind?! Youve lost a customer for life. I also tried calling but no one answers and you have to leave a message so you cant even speak to anyone live... unreal!!!
google avatar

Larry F.

Yelp
This is a great burger place...not a fast food place each item is cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Their burgers are so good tasting and you can build it the way you want. Next time I want to try a chili dog and the tuna melt sounds good too! They also have pastrami and their shakes and floats look good too! Nice casual atmosphere inside and outside seating and the service is excellent!
google avatar

Raymond A.

Yelp
The burger is da bestest!! Ok... Irv's Burgers cares about the grubbage. I did a review on the chili dogs, pastrami sando and taters. They were not to my liking. However, Irv's said to please try the burger. I finally had some late night rando ramble walk around time and stopped by Irv's and got me a burger. Der burger is gooooooood!!! Tasty is an understatement, I can see myself chowing down many of these in the years to come. Lots of flavor, well made, quick n ez goodness!! You'll soon see me filling this page with more burger mayhem pics.

Yelp
My favorite smash burger in Pacific Beach- hands down! I've gone during the day for the "Menu Burger" and it was so delicious. It's definitely a hefty/cheesy burger. I also did a build your own and it was so good! I did a single patty with cheese, grilled onions, and a little bit of chili and it was the perfect amount and loved the flavor of the grilled onions. Their milk shakes are also a must get if you get this spot!
google avatar

Rick B.

Yelp
Anyone who comments here and complained is rude and karened out. "Food took to long ". "Didn't get my custom order right". Food took ten minutes. It was everything an la restaurant chain should offer. Pastrami. Chili cheese. I had the "best burger on the menu" it was for lack of a better word, perfect. Two smashed patties, crispy edges. Pickles and grilled onions on a sesame bun. The tuna melt on rye. Toasted to perfection. Melted cheese, and tuna salad. The chili dog. Don't even start, an LA staple. Insane. If you like old timey diner, long counter deliciousness, EAT HERE.
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Amazing smash burger. I dont have to go out of my way to smash & dash anymore ;-) crispy to the edge. I got the 'best burger', but wishing I got the roadhouse instead, as that has veggies to balance out the heavy patties and sauce. BLT could use more spread, but was decent. Wasn't salty. Bacon was crisp.
google avatar

Ty S.

Yelp
Probably best burger I've had. And not too expensive. Love that you can build your own and save money when you don't get condiments you don't want. Service was excellent too. And they have tots!!!!
google avatar

Larry S.

Yelp
Tried the Irv's Burgers in Pacific Beach. Very good burger, I got it the way Irv's make it and was pleased. They give customers a generous quantity of fries so if you're ordering for two... only one order of fries is probably necessary. BUT When I called to order in advance they did not answer their phone and their automated system does not yet allow online orders for the new Pacific Beach location.

Jake B.

Yelp
Burger was average. They messed up my original order and gave me the wrong burger. Food took super long and there was not even a line of people.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
It is a Monday at 1:20 PM, stopped to have lunch at this location. Hours on yelp state that it will be open until 10 PM. While I was walking up to order was told that they were closed.
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
This place is great! Nice burger spot right by the beach. The staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. The chili cheese fries were fresh and my favorite thing! A little pricey compared to other spots, but overall great!
google avatar

Nancy D.

Yelp
Best burger around arrived late n cold but still wonderful. Ordered onion rings. They forgot to send and it's a real hassle to get a refund on their error. My wish is they go withGrub hub. They correct the wrong and one can communicate with them Once they get grub hub up and running we will return and be their best regulars. Until then they will not be hearing from us Such a pity

Joel G.

Yelp
The hamburger is definitely one of the best in San Diego. The quality of meat is very high and the cooking technique is excellent. Also great location and the staff are friendly!
google avatar

Azeen E.

Yelp
Refused to serve us even though they don't close till 10. Service sucks and don't waste your time.
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
Ordered best burger on the menu & roadside burger and shared a side of fries. The food was really good. This was our first time having Irv's so we didn't know what to expect. We'll definitely be coming back again. I'd recommend giving them a try.

Jadro Alain M.

Yelp
I went there and they were handing out free meals looks like they were doing some collab with a youtuber Thought it was super dope but for real, the burgers were fire, the place has great vibes and W customer service
google avatar

Truthteller M.

Yelp
Manager running the front told us 9 minutes; took over 30 minutes and they added cheese and ruined our "custom burger" bc they weren't paying attention. If you have food allergies, avoid this place because they will harm you from gross negligence. I use to manage restaurants and this is beyond atrocious.
google avatar

Mercedez S.

Yelp
This place is SO underrated. I was so Pleasantly surprised when I came here because the burger was sooo good, so juicy but also kind of like a smash burger. Any of their burgers are good with bacon on it. Also big enough to literally share with someone. Glad I found myself a new burger spot
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Don't bother. Orders took 30+ minutes. No warning, no apologies, no reason. Just unattended young kids not really interested in much. No manager. Food not good!!! If you are a local, you know better. If you are a tourist, go to The Friendly down the street-please DO NOT waste your money on this place!!!!

James H.

Yelp
do not go here. i spent 80 dollars on 6 items, every single item was incorrect. There is a point when company's need to be responsible for hiring employees that are incompetent, avoid at all costs.

Candice C.

Yelp
The service was efficient and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. Food wise, it's a burger. It's good, but for the price, I can get a much better burger for a reasonable price. The location is very accessible and has ample space for dine in customers.

Andy T.

Yelp
I'm writing this review as we are eating out amazing cheeseburgers and fries. What a great place with amazing customer service to take your family. The location is perfectly located close to the beach and the dining area is great. I would definitely recommend this place!

Ashley H.

Yelp
Their burgers are okay. Nothing too special. I will say their fries are really good, nice and crispy!
google avatar

Chayote J.

Yelp
Great service and the Best Burger was delicious. Great onion rings too! Oreo shake :)
google avatar

Jody S.

Yelp
Irv's Best Burger $10.50 is a double cheeseburger with grilled onions, pickles, Irv's sauce, on a quite good bun - balance of crispiness (burger edges, pickles) and juciness (onion's, Irv's sauce) a bit salty Irv's chilli cheese Hebrew National hot dog on what I believe is Texas toast - the chilli is good with a bit of sweetness I liked - but not the best hebrew national hot dog in san diego Service friendly and fast. Ambience inside a/c or outside patio seating.

David G.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Irv's is the real deal. Delicious burgers and tuna melts. Onion rings best I've had. I will go out of my way to return.
google avatar

Uncle M.

Yelp
Maybe one of the best smash burgers in San Diego. Maybe! It's definitely good though and I'd say if you haven't tried it yet, give it a go. Service is slow and it always seems to be the cashiers first day so look out for that.

Matt J.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite and got a burger and soda here. Burger was very good! My soda tasted kinda watered down. Probably would stop here again, really did enjoy the cheese burger
google avatar

Kassie G.

Yelp
Pastrami for the WIN! Great food and great service! The kiddo loves the Root Beer Float
google avatar

Denny D.

Yelp
Almost $17 for a pastrami?! Yes it's was good. It was also small AR. First /last time I'll be there. That whole thing is weird and I guess more catered to tourist. Doubt it last another makeover
google avatar

Mark J.

Yelp
This place just opened up, and my gosh, how hard is it to run a basic burger stand. Soda machine was dead. No cold bottled waters. Got our order wrong. Fries were greasy. Girl at the counter was flustered. Some customers next to me were annoyed as well, just basic things seem to be hard for this place. Oh well, let's see if they make it. We probably won't be back.

Sean H.

Yelp
Good food, but the few times I've came, they open on time. Change the operating times you have listed.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Amazing burger. Best onion rings I've ever had. And the gentleman helping me, Andy, was incredible. His energy, friendliness, salesmanship, and hospitality was something that is rarely seen these days. I will 100% be returning and recommend to my friends.

Mark P.

Yelp
Amazing Smashburger! The burgers are also huge. The fries are delicious. Great place!

John D.

Yelp
Great burgers. Western Drama Birger is a must try. Would come here everyday if I could.

Deeez N.

Yelp
saw this place as a local in PB a few times walking by and thought i'd give it a shot, smash burgers came out great, fries were very over seasoned so much i couldn't finish them but the service & shakes are amazing, very chill. i think if my server Kari wasn't such a good vibe though, i wouldn't even write this review or consider coming back lol so shout out to my guy. only way id consider this place casually, maybe, is if i was in a pinch & they were the last shop open on a late night.
