This was my first time here, and as soon as I walked in the doors I knew I was giving it five stars. The food smelled so good right off the bat, the restaurant was clean and modern looking and even though they were very busy we were seated and served pretty much immediately. The service was decent, there were so many people that a little wait wasn't a big deal and the the food was worth every second. I liked the strawberry margarita, it wasn't too sweet and lasted through the meal. We ordered shumai for the table, streamed and those were demolished. The largest shumai I have ever had! I had the Drunken noodles, spicy level. It had a great tingle to the lips but wasn't overpowering at all. Lots of flavors and the shrimp were MASSIVE. My bf got a fried fish dish which I cannot remember the name of, but the fish batter was so light and DELICIOUS. Major win for me, and this was his first time ever trying thai food. The side of Jasmine rice was cooked perfectly as well. My mom got a curry style soup (also very yummy, I stole bites from everyone because it all looked phenomenal) which has such depth of flavor and really felt very comforting. I cannot wait till next time I visit this summer so I can come back and try something else!

I can't say enough about how fantastic the food is at this place! It has quickly become my go-to spot, and I've never been disappointed with the quality. It's also a great venue to hang out with friends.

Google
Enjoyed a great meal while visiting here from NYC where there is no shortage of Thai food. Isaan could hold its own against anything at home in Manhattan. The staff was great, friendly and helpful in picking from their many offerings. The fried fish was my favorite.

Google
This was a great choice for our large family group. Food was delicious and they were very accommodating about each person’s preference for spice. There was live entertainment (on a Saturday evening) which was excellent and added to the ambiance without overpowering conversation. Additional note: beware that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill and not disclosed. So be careful not to double tip. The service was good but 40% is excessive.

Google
Crab fried rice gives a generous amount of crab meat! Sautee is also super delicious. Clean and cozy environment. A great place to relax after ski!

Google
I've only been to the new location a few times, the food is the same (delicious) and everything else has gotten better. More space, including a beautiful outside patio/garden area. Nice bar area. The whole place is very bright and airy. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends. It's located across the street from Upper Depot Brewing and close walking distance to Warren St.

Google
Great service. The food I recommend green curry. But the dishes are too oily and salty and it needed to be adjusted. Mango sticky rice is great, a little too sweet and chef can change the coconut sauce 🥹

If you're in the Hudson area and craving Thai food, look no further than Isaan Thai Star. In addition to excellent food and drinks, it offers efficient service and great vibes that include beautiful live music. The Panang Salmon was phenomenal, both in its plating and taste. The Himmapan Chicken and Drunken Noodle Chicken both packed a little heat but were excellent options. The Spring Roll was great, the Shumai was decent, the unsweetened Thai Iced Tea was refreshing, and the Thai Iced Tea with coconut milk was also a hit (without the milk overpowering the flavor). All in all, we greatly enjoyed our evening dinner here, and would highly recommend Isaan to others.

Yelp
Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambience: 3 Date/Time 9/29/2024 7pm Crowd: 3/4 full Order: Drunken Noodle Upscale Thai place with piano player. The place could've gotten 4 stars but the extremely loud piano on top of the already loud conversations with a nearly full restaurant didn't allow for much discussion in our group. The food was very good and the Drunken Noodle was spiced very well. The server was mostly attentive but seemed eager to get our orders for some reason. They have a fairly large selection on their menu so it's not exactly a quick decision. Overall, I'd say this place would be better if used for take out as the food is great unless you like a very lively and loud place to dine.

Yelp
This place can be found on one of the sides streets but there was lots of street parling because of it. My husband got the crab fried rice and I got the pad see ew. The noodles were huge. They looked like a sheet of noddles. Delicious none the less. They were transparent about ingredients on the menu. This was super helpful for me picking out food.

Yelp
We were really craving Thai when we got here on our first night for a girls weekend. Reviews looked great and the restaurant was really busy when we picked up takeout. The green curry was great but everything else was just okay including the basil fried rice, chicken satay, papaya salad and spring rolls. We didn't really like the drunken noodles, kind of dry and not great flavor. Overall it was an average spot, unfortunately not as good as we were hoping. They also didn't ask us what spice level we wanted and it was spicier than we would have liked. We likely wouldn't go back.

Yelp
In town for a few days- decided to try the local Thai spot. Played it safe and ordered pad thai and summer rolls. Which were both good. Our friends ordered red curry chicken, a pork butte dish, tom yum soup and a spicy chicken and papaya dish. Ambience was cute, the patio lights were very cool. Despite all of the people working in the restaurant, our dirty plates sat way too long, our server never came back to ask us if we were happy with our food- we had to pile up our plates and ask for containers for our leftovers and flag down our server for our checks. All things that cause a customer to question the 22% tip automatically added. Food was good, 3 stars for service.

Yelp
Surprised to find authentic Thai food in this neighborhood. The drunken noodle here is so good! The mango sticky rice was also very good. This place was one of the only restaurants open on New Year's Day.
google avatar

Shannon T.

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem walking between breweries in the neighborhood. So glad we spotted it as we were looking for an early dinner and they had plenty of tables open at that time. As we went over the menu we noticed it filling up around us which made us feel like we made a great choice. The service was quick and polite, we both ordered pork pad Thai, medium spicy. The spice level was definitely up there, but we loved the flavors and would order this dish again. The serving size was generous. They had a full bar, but we just had soda this trip. Everything was clean and welcoming, we would highly recommend making a visit!

Yelp
If you enjoy Thai food or are looking to try something different, I highly recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is located on a side street, so the parking can be a little rough, but that is at no fault of the restaurant. The interior has a darker ambiance with nice décor and mood lighting on each of the tables. There is also a nice back patio for outdoor seating during the warmer seasons. The food is absolutely delicious. I've had a few different curry and rice dishes, but my favorite has to be the drunken noodles (pictured). The chicken is delicious, but I also really enjoy the extra vegetables as the broccoli has a delicious flavor. The service is always quick and the food comes out in a timely manor. The wait staff are very kind and make you feel welcome.

Yelp
Food was excellent as was the service. I had a crispy fish in a sweet and sour sauce. It was a spicy dish as noted by pepper symbol on menu. I asked for mild heat. There was no heat at all, which was slightly disappointing but still delicious. My wife had a chicken pad Thai that she said was different than any other pad Thai that she's had but in a good way. The chicken was crispy and she lived the dish. The jazz band of young musicians was very good. Music was enjoyable although a bit loud. My wife is very sensitive to loud music but still enjoyed the music and said the volume did not bother her. Our waitress was attentive and good came quickly. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
A great gem in Hudson. Amazing place, great ambiance and really tasty Thai food. Make sure you make reservations as it gets really packed which clearly shows what a great service they offer. They have amazing outdoor dining and live music on weekends

Eric W.

Yelp
Authentic Thai restaurant. Food was absolutely superb and served with a smile. Quite often live music on weekends. Back patio with lighting is stunning. If you are in Hudson and you like Thai food, it is not to be missed. I love this place.

Yelp
Booking a reservation was seamless, thanks. Everything was great for our table of 6....food and service, superb....and the live piano player...that's real class!! BUT, the place is WAY TOO LOUD! Time to invest in a lot of expensive acoustic panelling. You have a hit restaurant on your hands, so go for it. Saturday night 7pm - bar seats empty. They'd be full if you could hear the person next to you. Just sayin'. Keep up the great work. People are driving to Hudson again for dinner!!

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
The staff is very efficient and kind. The drunken noodles were absolutely to die for as well. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the spices were well balanced. I didn't dine-in but the design of the restaurant is very appealing and unexpected.

Yelp
We used Yelp and found this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see the outdoor space and requested to sit out back. There was a fire pit which was lit and the area was spacious. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. The waiter came over quickly to take our order. We were able to enjoy the outdoor breeze as we waited for our food. Everything was hot and fresh. I had the pad see ew and it was the best I've ever had. I ordered it with seafood and the seafood was so tender. It included shrimp, squid and scallops which was a nice surprise. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I would definitely recommended visiting if in the area.

Yelp
Yum! We really enjoyed our lunch here just a block away from the main strip in Hudson. Cute, clean, modern interior with lots of space and quick + kind service. We had the drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice. Both portion sizes were decent and both had great complex flavor with fresh tasting ingredients. I especially loveeeed the spice level of our drunken noodles! Thai tea always a must. The spring rolls were tasty as well. Portions are a little on the pricier side but typical for the area. Solid Thai option for lunch or dinner

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Food is great - service is horrible. I have never felt really welcomed there. Honestly in all my experiences eating there, I've just felt like I was bothering them by just being there? Service has never been great. One time a Server came up to us asking if we wanted anything else (after being left outside without service for 40 mins) and when I said I wanted to see a dessert menu, they told me no the kitchen was closed. I get it - end of the night struggles but why bother asking if we wanted anything else if the bar and kitchen were both closed? I digress.

Henry W.

Yelp
Great food! The service was awesome and the people were nice. There was live music and a cute place! Over all would reomend

Lea M.

Yelp
The food is GREAT! Can never be more. Authentic than how they do it, and its REALLY GOOD! And the serving was huge! It can be shared by 2-3 people. The staff are also very pleasant. Ambiance is homey and airy! Will surely comeback.

Yelp
In case you're wondering why EVERYTHING seems so much more expensive than it did a couple of years ago...look no further than the greedy owner of this restaurant. It's well prepared Thai food...but he's jacked the prices up ridiculously over the past 2 years. Some items have increased 30 or 40%. It's really disgraceful. As an example....Thai fried rice is 'base priced' at $17. But - you have to then 'pick your protein', and if you want shrimp - that's an extra $8. This turns out to add 5 not particularly large shrimp to the dish. So - shrimp fried rice is $25? That's more than you'll pay in NYC. Larb gai for $17? Ridiculous. Virtually every dish is absurdly overpriced...but I guess when there's no other Thai restaurant for 45 minutes in any direction - you decide you can charge whatever you like. Oh, and by the way, when you use their web site to order takeout , it automatically tacks on a 20% service charge.

Yelp
One of the best Thai food restaurants I've ever been to with amazing live music from famous Hudson Valley musicians at just the right sound level to enjoy conversation at your table. The staff are truly professional and knowledgeable about the food.
google avatar

Kari Jo B.

Yelp
Outstanding! Everything is always perfectly prepared, veggies fresh, sauces flavorful and as spicy as you like it. The staff are all lovely and we LOVE the new space. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too. What a delight, highly highly recommend!
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Beautiful, simple decor. Friendly and attentive staff. And most importantly, delicious food, with perfect serving sizes. The tofu vegetable soup was so flavorful, the summer rolls were fresh with an amazing dipping sauce and the stir fry was filled with fresh vegetables.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Food is pretty much always good. Service lately tho is terrible. Me and my family come here a couple times a month. It's kinda too bad was once one of my favorite places to go just can't stress it enough on the service. Very slow with no go. Place is always clean and normally great live music
google avatar

Ria M.

Yelp
Take out review: I chose the pad thai and my dining partner chose a curry. Pad Thai had minimal flavor, even the peanuts were bland. There was a good amount of vegetables mixed in, chicken was in smaller diced pieces rather than larger chunks. Curry was good, flavor, definitely spicy so be aware that they take spice levels seriously and ask for it to be more mild if needed. Service was slow, I waited at the small counter without assistance for quite a bit even though the restaurant only had two tables. We picked up the food and it was ready in 20 minutes. Prices do seem a bit high for the area but they have a large menu with unique selections.

Yelp
Isaan Thai Star is yet another exceptional restaurant in the Hudson Valley, situated in the city of Hudson. The menu sparks excitement with its diverse array of offerings, surpassing the standard, monotonous menus found in many Thai restaurants that have recently popped up all over NYC. As the seafood green curry dish and SEAFOOD TOM YUM NOODLE (Shrimps, scallops, squids, rice noodle in a hot & sour tom yum soup with coconut milk, fried garlic, bean sprout, ground peanut, cilantro, scallion & fresh lime) were served, I couldn't help but notice the rare sight of plump scallops, large shrimp, and large rings of shiny squid, which not only looked appetizing but also tasted exceptional. In recent years I've found myself sifting through numerous Thai seafood bowls in search of a truly standout seafood - shrimp, squid or, even rarer, a quality scallop. It's akin to searching for gold or, in today's digital age, mining bitcoins, becoming increasingly challenging as seafood prices rise and restaurants compromise on quality. Another happy success was the PLA SAM ROS - Crispy sawaii fish fillet with pineapple, onion, scallion, red bell pepper in sweet, sour, mild spicy sauce. A huge dish of well fried succulent big chunks of fish - simply superb. Yes, Isaan dishes are very generous - all signs, including the service, showed that they love to please their customers, further than being merely transactional as so many restaurants. Everything else we ate was also excellent. Additionally, the spacious interior boasts high wooden ceilings, creating a charming atmosphere. The ample room between tables ensures you can comfortably converse with friends without being disturbed by neighboring tables or causing disruption. Furthermore, I noticed they have an expansive backyard. It was closed but I would assume it provides a delightful option for outdoor dining on sunny days.

Yelp
Great food and can order with whatever heat level you prefer (Thai hot fit me). Coconut margarita is so amazing!!
google avatar

Jared B.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've ever had, great atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating and a fine bar. The staff is very nice and there is live music on saturdays & sundays. Honestly the best food in Hudson.

B T.

Yelp
Really pleasant restaurant with good service. There was live music the night we were there, don't know how common that is. Nothing about the atmosphere here feels particularly Asian but it is comfortable, modern, clean and pleasant. The food is tasty, the Thai Spring Rolls (vegan) were exceptionally good. We had the summer rolls also which are definitely worth eating but everybody loved the spring rolls. The food had flavor but was not very hot, the pad Thai noodles were table favorite, and the shrimp with mango was also very good, but not very spicy.
google avatar

Rolando N.

Yelp
Very good Thai place. All the standard dishes with a few other Asian inspired dishes thrown in for good measure. Portions are excellent. Flavor is top notch. Service is super fast and friendly.

Yelp
Where is the baby changing table in the restroom??food here is great, been coming for years as a take out spot but dining in has been new for us. Its a new establishment so let me ask where are the baby changing bathroom tables??? It's awful i had to change my kid on the toilet lid! I feel like establishments don't care about the clientele when i see this...

Marc W.

Yelp
Excellent variety of interesting food entrees and sides yummy dumpling and moist duck breast order take out. AA+
google avatar

Nathalia T.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service mediocre. They had 2 waitresses for the entire place (outside and indoor). Although I was happy to see that they were busy, it was just too much for them to handle.. I saw a couple of people leave after waiting 25m for someone to even come around to take their order. The place is gorgeous. Prices are reasonable. A must try if you're in the area. Hope the service will be a little better next time.
google avatar

Cynthia P.

Yelp
It's beautiful inside the back patio is super cool. The waitresses are prompt. The owners are lovely and the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely worth it.
google avatar

Ali Z.

Yelp
Delicious! I order from them when I'm at work a lot. I usually get the drunk noodles with tofu - absolutely delicious and a nice portion. The price is a tad steep at $16 but the taste is amazing. I love their green iced tea as well. Tons of vegetarian options.

Stephen F.

Yelp
Simply wonderful. Great food and wonderful service.!Just a wonderful place to dine. Enjoy
google avatar

Bubbles P.

Yelp
Some of the best Thai food anywhere near by. Amazing food options to choose from. The staff is so friendly and sweet and will answer any questions you have. It is beautiful and cozy inside. I usually get take out but will sit down once in a while for a nice meal.
google avatar

Pranda P.

Yelp
Do not order soup from this establishment. Tastes rotten. I ordered the coconut and spicy soup, both were unbearable. I've had the duck in the past though, which was enjoyable. Probably will not return because I don't trust it.
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
Pretty much the only Thai in the area. The owner works super hard, once had him show up at my door with my delivery order. The food is good, service is great, drinks are very tasty. It used to be in a tiny storefront, the new expanded place is beautiful and had a great backyard dining area. They also have music in the summer.
google avatar

Chisti D.

Yelp
I happened upon this restaurant one day after visiting the bank next door. I love Thai cuisine and this place has a bright, clean welcoming space so I popped in for an early lunch. I ordered the red curry like I always do on a first visit to a Thai food restaurant, and my expectations were blown out of the water! Rich and creamy, bursting with flavor, and nice and spicy, it was full of fresh crisp veggies, and they made it vegan for me upon request. Had it with a lovely Jasmine tea as well. Highly recommend when in Hudson.
google avatar

Zach M.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this absolute GEM by accident this afternoon. We were traveling thru the area and found ourselves growing increasingly hangry. We decided to come into Isaan Thai Star for a bite to eat. I had the Green Curry with organic tofu - level of heat = Spicy, my partner had the Chiang Mai Noodle (Kow soi). I get green curry very commonly (at least once a month) and I can say this is easily tied for the best. Super flavorful, perfectly spicy, and the addition of eggplant was outstanding! The Chiang Mai noodles...I...I can't begin to describe these. Just... Just get them. You'll be happy with your life choices.
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
I love the new incarnation of Isaan Thai Star. Such a gorgeous outdoor dining area. My go to's are the red curry with chicken and the Salmon with Penang curry. Also can't get enough of the chicken sate. The service is wonderful and extremely friendly. A perfect place for a date night or a birthday party.
google avatar

Jie X.

Yelp
Found this cute little Thai place while visiting Hudson NY for the foliage. I think most of their business comes from takeout, or maybe we ate dinner early. It was 7pm and there was no wait for a table. It's not a bad thing. I had a Thai iced GREEN tea, which was a refreshing break from my usual black. I wish more Thai restaurants offered the option. My wife had Thai fried rice. I liked it more than she did. It was very smoky, just the way I like it. My drunken noodles were good, but a little on the sweet side. Service was quick and courteous. We had a good experience!

Kesha C.

Yelp
Delicious Thai food and not too spicy. I had a crispy fish with a flavorful ginger and garlic sauce on the side.
google avatar

Stella O.

Yelp
Walked in and wasn't greeted, just stared at..I had to be the one to ask if we could be seated. The place had two tables occupied and I asked to be seated in a bigger table, instead of a tiny one by the door. I was told it was for 4 people only and that they needed the table as though the place was full. It was 6pm on a Thursday evening and the place was empty, not sure why we wouldn't be able to take a slightly bigger table.  Place was friendlier when it was the old spot, now it seems the locals aren't welcomed unless you're white, since two minutes after we sat down 2 other couples walked in and were offered the bigger tables (both Caucasians). Discrimination much. The food is mediocre food and a space filled with flies. Wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Update: bringing it from 4 stars to 5. Everything about our experience was exceptional. Possibly the most on-point service I've ever had. We had the Tempeh and Pineapple Satay as an appetizer. Came out fast and was so flavorful. For dinner we had Tom Kha Kai and Drunken Noodles with Beef. Both knocked our socks off. Piping hot and very flavorful. Fried Banana with ice cream for dessert - I almost cried, so good. Atmosphere quiet, simple, and classy. Will be back!
google avatar

Ty M.

Yelp
unpretentious, easy, friendly and fast. I love it for pick up and cannot wait to try their new location! Great staff, great food.

A. M.

Yelp
Delicious food, prompt, courteous service. The neighborhood looks slightly iffy but nothing too bad if you're familiar with urban neighborhoods. Parking is on the street. The spring rolls are the bomb! I had the pad see ew with tofu, which was superb. Good veggie options. Clean and well-tended restaurant. Small, but well-curated selection of beers on tap.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
We dined outside on a very warm summer evening. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was delicious.

Paul P.

Yelp
Phenomenal. The best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Great service, nice space, and the food is amazing. Highly recommended. We've been here twice now and it's now a go to for us.

Tom L.

Yelp
New location is great. Very attractive space. Food is really good. The owners should ditch the piano player... he plays way too loud for the space. And a piano player is really not necessary. They might pipe in some nice music (low), Looking forward to dining in the outdoor space this coming summer.
