Little Italy counter spot with a brick oven and limited hours; locals flock for the margherita and warm Italian sandwiches. Frequently recommended by readers of The Baltimore Banner for straightforward, satisfying pies.

I ordered the ham and pineapple pizza, probably the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had! My husband got a sausage sandwich but it had something like broccolini on it and he said it was very bitter so he had to remove it. That was a bummer since he basically paid $10 for a sausage in a bun. The woman who took our order was not friendly at all, we were never welcomed to the restaurant or received a thank you. Other "locals" came in and she was a bit friendlier to them, but not much. Could use a lesson in customer service. Giving four stars simply because my pizza was so good.

Google
Definitely one of Baltimores best Italian cold cuts. The bread is fresh, a little chew to it but soft on the inside. Love that you can add prosciutto! Good sandwhich construction, the whole sub makes for 2 good servings. Nice deli case, they have prepared fried eggplant and some other things. Good drink selection, Boylands, San Pelligrino, Mexican Coca-Cola (real cane sugar) and some others. Cute little shop. The pizza looks good too, need to find my way back down here to try that out.

Google
Ordered the Scooch. Amazing. The bread alone was outstanding. The meats/cheese blend well with the balsamic base on the bread. Great gouda. Outstanding. Amazing cannoli's (go traditional or chocolate).

Went on a day trip to Baltimore from Philly without a single plan. Some kind locals recommended Isabella’s Pizza. I ordered a cheese pizza and cannoli. The pizza was so delicious, real authentic Italian pizza, I really enjoyed the sauce and the large amount of cheese. The crust was very interesting, it tasted so fresh and homemade, it added so much to the pizza! The cannoli was amazing. It was a pretty day outside so I ate my meal outside. The service was great, the atmosphere was very homey, and the whole experience was so lovely. My leftovers lasted the bus ride back home and made me want another pizza! I will definitely be back to Isabella’s Pizza!

Oh my goodness, sweet Lord Jesus. This is truly my favorite sandwich place in all of Baltimore. They do such a great job with the Italian cold cut. I was introduced this as I was in the car business and we used to drive 35 minutes to get this for lunch. Once someone added, everyone joined in. I love the taste of the warm sandwiches. I love the taste of the cold sandwiches. This is what I measure every Italian sandwich up to even the ones from New York, yeah New York. It’s on the corner. The parking is atrocious. Their hours are horrible. But if the moon is right, and your timetable is aligned with theirs. You can go in to the corner Italian shop and get some terrific pizza or go for my favorite the sandwiches. I love this place.

Google
Only been once and got one of their sandwiches and side caprese, but they were SO GOOD. The quality of the ingredients is fantastic, the bread so delicious! The people working there were also super nice and friendly. Would go back in a heartbeat, can’t wait to try their pizza!

Google
Food is good, but the pizza was missing arugula and I called and told them and all they said was sorry. I paid for the arugula and they didn't do anything about it. It's not right UPDATE 3/20: Dan reached out and made things right. Customer service was top notch and busy nights happen. Looking forward to next time!

Google
Advertising authentic Italian brick over pizza also food, which we were excited and appreciated, so we ordered a 10" pepperoni and meatball with cheese sub. Instead we got extremely salty pizza and a meatball with no cheese sub, the sauce was bitter and did I mention salty 😐, for $40 total, we should have ordered Domino's pizza instead and will not ever return, see pics below, very dissatisfied and will never return. Yelp
Employees were super friendly and accommodating. A classic Italian sort of deli/ shop. Pizza was delicious and made with love! It's pretty small inside so not much seating to offer, it's more of a take out kind of place. Prices were a little high but it's worth supporting a small business!

Tom B.

Yelp
Smallest sub I've ever received. Worse than subway. Missing ingredients. Used to order from here a lot and now may never order again

Yelp
My favorite Italian spot in little Italy. I wouldn't come here for fine dining, they have like two tables you can have lunch with a coworker but I'd recommend limoncello in federal hill for a nice fine dining experience or amicci's. However, for lunch this spot is perfect! I love the Marcus, cold cut Italian, and serafina! They have the best speciality sandwiches and pasta! I highly recommend this Italian spot. Also the staff is super friendly and kind.

Yelp
Perfect place! Small hole in the wall joint kicking out amazing sandwiches and pizza!
google avatar

Jon W.

Yelp
Great pizza and subs. The service is quick and food is great. It's a great option for takeout. There is seating inside, but it's a small shop.

Yelp
Return visit after a few years away. The place was busy in it's final hour of the day to process a catering order. They close at 4pm so, I am glad to have gotten in before the started to wind down for the day. The food and history of this place has quite a reputation so, I am pleased. The place is small but efficient.

Yelp
A must try! Competition in Little Italy is fierce, but I would say that Isabella's is super solid. It's nothing like a Sicilian pizza, but it is far from an American NY slice. For the Leonardo pizza, the arugula helps balance the saltiness of the prosciutto. The breading isn't the chewiest or snappiest, but it is very solid with firmer texture. The service was wonderful: family owned and operated. Receiving the pizza took about 18 minutes so if you are in a time crunch, I would suggest ordering in advance and picking it up. I will definitely come back and hope to see you around as well :)

Yelp
Tried this place on a sunny Friday afternoon. I was a little shocked at the price point of 25$ for a large pizza in a take out type of venue but went for it anyway. We sat outdoors; they have a few tables available. Pizza was good but not great, and not particularly memorable. I felt like the ingredients were likely canned and not fresh. We asked for the pizza well done but it was still a little soggy at the tips of the pizza slices. 3.5 stars.
google avatar

Cliff M.

Yelp
Food is awesome! My family and I got a pizza last night. There were no leftovers. Pizza was eaten upon arrival. 5 stars all the way .

Russell B.

Yelp
Everything was excellent. I even ordered the fried eggplant to take with the pizza. The pizza is some of the best in Baltimore. And the service was phenomenal. I was a takeout order but place was cute!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Takeout review only. Little Italy is a competitive location for pizza spots but this place is definitely one of my favorites. While not the cheapest in the area, Isabella's has some of the best topping combinations. The Pizza Pavion is one of my favorite combos of all time. The slightly bitter broccoli rabe with melted cheese and acidic tomato sauce is an amazing flavor bomb. I like their Neapolitan style thin crust that maintains crispiness despite travel time and when microwaved as leftovers. My partner also likes to get their hot sandwiches and a large is definitely more than a foot long. Their meatball and porchetta sandwiches hit the spot but are not the juiciest in Baltimore. Their Italian sub is good but could use a more vinegar. For some extra kick consider topping with hot honey or Calabrian chilies.

Yelp
What a great spot in little Italy! Ordered the Scooch Sub and it was phenomenal. Great local deli with friendly staff and amazing food! Will definitely be returning back in the near future.

Yelp
Stopped here to get something quick. I had a chicken parm sub. It was pretty decent. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. The place is very small, I think I remembered seeing 3 tables in here. Definitely a place to order in advance and pick up and go. I plan on stopping back to try to pizza. It's hard when I get in this area because almost everything within the 2 block radius is really good stuff.

Yelp
So sad to have chosen this place after searching for best pizza in Baltimore for days. The ingredients seem all from can (not fresh and full of sodium and vinegar or something).. mushrooms, everything. Whether in the salad or on pizza. Worst pizza I have ever had in my life. this is supposed to be brick-oven? I ordered well-done, but the crust was wet and soft with ingredients undercooked while the crust still managed to be blacked. you could not lift a slice without all the toppings folling off uncooked center dough, which separated from the rest of the crust, as well because so wet. the garlic bread was like on soft regular bread not cooked well and packaged into a squished small plastic salad container.... salad is ok if you like all ingredients (like mushrooms, olive, red peppers, artichoke) are marinated from can or jar (same ones found in the pizza, makes sense why they try to HIDE it with the cheese on top).. not fresh at all!! we have been waiting to try this place for a while, and it is the worst disappointment for my birthday.

Rochelle C.

Yelp
Happen to droped in while we were in town so glad we did. Everything is fresh and Delicious. Will be back if ever in baltimore

Yelp
After not being in the area for few years, and I finally made it back to Isabellas. The menu is a bit different (at least on the board), but still just as great as ever. Friendly staff, large selection, bread that's out of this world, and massive sandwiches with quality ingredients. What's not to love.
google avatar

Carmen J.

Yelp
i went here with my girlfriend and we order the meatball sub, her food was cold and under cooked mine just had meatballs and bread i asked for a sprite and the sprite was warm.

Sean B.

Yelp
Pizza is done well here. Sidenote, I felt risky and tried the Lombardi pizza (some weird pizza with walnuts, gorgonzola, and some other stuff). If Thanksgiving could be a flavor, this would be close to it. The taste was like when you've been away from your family for a long time and you decide to visit for thanksgiving and you miss everyone (even that loud outspoken family member (the Gorgonzola)).
google avatar

Yelp
My coworker and I decided to order delivery for lunch. We ordered Isabella and Italian cold cut sandwiches. I was surprised by how small the sandwiches were when I got it since I'm used to ordering from Trinacria's where they give you huge portions. Taste-wise, I really enjoyed the Italian cold cut but didn't really enjoy Isabella because of its olive spread. I'm not sure if I would try this place again when Trinacria's is closer and you get more for your money especially with all the delivery fees IMO.
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
Pizaa cold cut hot sandwiches are all excellent! We came from California and this is the place we had to go back too. Its just as good as I remember! Friendly service and great food! Quality ingredients.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best places in Baltimore! Isabella's is a small local shop that serves pizzas and Italian subs in Little Italy, and it's a great spot to pick up food during lunch. IMPORTANT: This is a small restaurant with no indoor seating, so expect to order food for takeout and plan accordingly. However, this should not deter you. I consistently get the aria sub, and I never regret it. I should've taken a picture of the cross-section because the subs are always generously filled with hefty portions of meat and other toppings that come with the sandwiches. Of all the times I've been here I've never actually tried the pizza (I love the subs), but it I've heard it's good!

Christopher S.

Yelp
Great place with great deli subs. The pizza is worth a try and you will enjoy it but the sandwiches are really very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Brick oven pizza will always be my jam. This place was top notch. Mostly a pick up place, they do have a few tables as well as some take home Italian goods. We got some meatballs and two pizzas. Meatballs were flavorful and covered in a delicious tomato sauce. We got a veggie pizza and a meat pizza. The veggie pizza had marinated mushrooms and artichokes which was a unique take on veggies. The meat pizza had three types of meat. Both had flavorful crusts and lots of cheese. Bottom line-would definitely return for more pizza!

Ashley D.

Yelp
Love the pizza here! Small place with weird hours but if you catch them, a must try. I also enjoy the subs. The bread is amazing. Always fresh ingredients.
google avatar

Kaleb A.

Yelp
I ordered two pizzas. I'm confused after trying the food and reading the reviews. Both pies were awful. The sauce was extremely bland and the crust was burned. I've had a better pizza from Domino's and that's a pretty low standard.
google avatar

Tatyana F.

Yelp
You know nothing about brick oven pizza because you haven't been to Isabella's! Yes, YOU. Get your lazy butt to the best pizza place in the entire tristate area. #&^%, yes, there are no seats, but trust me, once you smell that pizza, you will devour it standing up. Ask for...heck ask for anything. My personal favorite is Pizza Bianca and I am usually not into white pizza. Pizza king Richard is awesome too, an all kids favorite. Very nice owners. I recommend skipping the next meal afterwards, you will be very full, even if you get a 10 inch pizza.
google avatar

Lewis W.

Yelp
I got a chicken parm sub when I was visiting Baltimore. It was fantastic. Chicken was small flavorful pizza with just enough sauce and mozz. The roll was soft with good chew. It was a great choice.
google avatar

Yuri K.

Yelp
I can't believe we've lived in Baltimore for 2 years before finally trying Isabella's Pizza!! Their pizza is amazing. We love their vegetarian pizza and the Margherita. I love how their pizza is not caked on with a thick layer of cheese, and it's not overly greasy. Of note, Isabella's and Angeli's are my two favorite pizza spots. My husband likes Angeli's more, but I prefer Isabella's.
google avatar

Marlon T.

Yelp
Located on one of the quaint streets of Baltimore's Little Italy, Isabella's is the corner-store you can just drop in and get some basic Italian groceries, a flavor-rich pizza, or a sandwich. This small joint only has a few tables/seats so it's not good for huge groups. My recommendations are: 1) For meat lovers, get the King Richard. 2) For cheese lovers, get the White Pizza. 3) For people trying to be health conscious but still want yummy some circle-shaped meat, get a classic Margherita and add some pepperoni. Can't wait to come back and try one of their sandwiches!
google avatar

Dan A.

Yelp
I ordered for pickup not knowing that they are mostly a takeout restaurant. They have a couple of benches and a table outside the building with a small waiting area inside. A good choice of pizzas and sandwiches. I wasn't sure what to get (so many varieties so little time!) The Pizza Pavion stood out. You don't usually see Soppressata and Rapini together on a pizza. If you like Rapini, this one is for you. The mix of tangy, slightly bitter Rapini with the Soppressata spice play nicely with the sauce and cheese. The Da Patro with a generous sausage topping and green pepper and onions was very good. Last but not least, the Scooch Sub with Capi, Soppressata, Gouda cheese & Balsamic dressing was also tasty. Ordering and pickup was easy & the gentlemen at the counter were friendly & service minded. I wasn't aware but they've been recognized on the list of best pizza spots in Baltimore (City mag). Will be back to try the long list of pizza & sub varieties.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice and I love it! I had a margherita pizza, the scooh hot sub and caprese salad everything very good! I love the olive oil they're using too! You can tell. All the ingredients taste fresh. The cold cuts are amazing quality! This is my new pizza and sub place!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic local find for amazing Pizza and subs. Location is super small and everyone carries out. I ate outside on small table on the sidewalk. It gets super busy for good reason. People behind the counter is Fantastic, great personality. Food is amazing. Hope to be back again before the end of my vacation. Too many items on the menu to try.

Yelp
We walked from Fells Point to Isabella's because of the rave reviews and it was definitely worth the 25 min walk. We ordered online when we were about 10 mins way and the pizza was ready and piping hot when we got there. We chose a 10in pepperoni and it was a good snack or light meal for 2 people. My favorite part was the chewy crust, which is saying a lot because I love cheese. It was really high quality and fresh, and I'm still thinking about it the next day. Note there is 1 little table for 2 and a couple of benches outside, but the ambiance is not great. Worth it to eat the pizza fresh though. Pro tip: If you want to do a Little Italy progressive, stop by Ovenbird Bakery, which is only about a block away. Writing a detailed review for that separately, but TL;DR - get the chocolate chirp cookie and anything else that calls to you. Everything is freshly made and there are a few tables to eat out outside.
google avatar

Colleen C.

Yelp
The pizza is bad. The dough isn't cooked all the way through, yet somehow is still burnt on the bottom. The burnt taste is so over powering we couldn't eat it. Not good pizza. Would not recommend. We also missed some items in our order...
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best, most delicious pizza in Baltimore! Eating in, delivery or carryout, you're going to get the same quality food. Every single item on the menu is amazingly yummy!
google avatar

Isabelle K.

Yelp
I come here for the scooch sandwich- one of my favorite sandwiches in Baltimore! I haven't tried anything else here (lol) but I'm sure it's al delicious!

Yelp
I will not return! I am an African-American man. Went on 9/23/2020 with my fiancé to grab some subs, as we have done in the past. The shop was empty besides ourselves and the workers, as is typical on a Wednesday evening these days. Each one looked me in my eye and said nothing. Not a hello, can I help you, would you like to place an order? Nothing. Being the optimist I am, I figured I may not be standing in the right spot, but also suspected a force I'm all to familiar with, as a Black man, was at work. I positioned myself directly in front of the counter and all the workers went to the back. It was if they were intentionally refusing us service. We continued to stand there and we even conversed about our orders louder than necessary to make clear we were ready. I stood in that same spot for 10 minutes, nothing but me, mine, and the workers. Still no service. We left in complete dismay. We quickly returned wanting clarity on this very unusual behavior. We inquired if we needed to place an order prior to coming. At that point the workers asked what did we want? Of course we weren't about to spend our Black dollars in any establishment that treated us as second class citizens. We attempted to explain our frustration, but the workers informed us that they were to busy and we could either place an order or leave. Utterly disgusted and successfully repelled by the apparent prejudice of the white workers, we left. We will never return.

Yelp
As other Yelpers have indicated, this place is tiny! There are two tables (one large and one small) for patrons who decide to dine in. Luckily on the afternoon we went we were able to grab the small table. While we were there, lots of patrons came in for take out. Ordered a 14 inch King Richard pizza ($18.99) and the cheese steak Siciliano ($10.99). We really enjoyed the pizza, which was slightly charred and the dough was crispy yet chewy at the same time. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza contained a good amount of meatballs, sausage, pepperoni and ham. Definitely a meat lovers dream! The cheese steak was a different story. I thought it was eh. The steak was tender, but I thought it had a weird flavor to it. I wasn't also a fan of the rapini. I like rapini in general, but I didn't enjoy it in the cheese steak. I think the star at Isabella's is definitely their brick oven pizzas. We enjoyed it so much we ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. In addition to pizzas and sandwiches (hot and cold), they also offer salads, sides, and a couple desserts. Service is friendly and staff are knowledgeable on their offerings. Metered parking around Isabella's is plentiful, but you might have to circle a few times to find a spot.

Yelp
Amazing food and customer service. I had a last-minute order and they went above and beyond getting me 10 pizzas and two big salad platters, with only two hours' notice, when they were already swamped with lots of orders. While I waited I had a little caprese salad, read about the restaurant's history in the newspaper clippings on the wall, and just enjoyed listening to the banter of everyone behind the counter. These are people who truly care about their business and their customers. Dan even carried the boxes of salad and pizza out to my car for me. And their food is outstanding. This will always be my go-to for any future student events ... with much more lead time for the order. I cannot believe they were able to accommodate me today, but they truly saved the day. Thank you Isabellas!

Yelp
Really good neighborhood pizza joint! I rode the orange line down to Little Italy and walked on over. Its super small inside, I think there are 3 tables and 2 window seats. So don't anticipate dining in. I didn't see a restroom so they may not have a public one. Not sure. They had lots of sundries (coffee, candy, etc.) for purchase as well. They had fresh deli items in a display case and sodas in another case near the register. I ordered the Aria, a specialty pizza. The 10" was about $13 and consisted of chicken, mozzarella, red onions, tomatoes, feta, and pesto sauce. It came out hot and fresh about 10 minutes later. Delicious!!! I ate every single bite. I couldn't help myself. It was so yummy! Also, it seemed like the type of pizza that's not as good reheated since it was fairly thin. I enjoyed dining in and even took some cannoli's to go. They were really good being that it was my first time trying cannoli's ever! Nice and crisp with delicious sweet filling. Stop by here! I walked back to the convention center afterwards and it was maybe a 20 minute walk. Enjoy!

Yelp
The pepperoni brick oven pizza is a 10/10. Also I missed having Italian cookies so I was excited to order a small assortment. The cookies have been on point as well.

Marina D.

Yelp
Got the prosciutto with arugula pizza. Super salty. Almost inedibly so. Looks like they do mostly take out. Just a few chairs and two tables. No bathroom. Food prep was quick.

Yelp
I've been visiting Baltimore on business and enjoying Little Italy for fifteen years. Until this trip (March '23), I had never had pizza there. Well, this place is the real deal. The pizza is superb. The only problem - for me, it's a biggie - there is no place to sit to enjoy it. Four of us visited at 3pm and we were able to sit at one of the two tables (one seats four; the other only two). It's among the best pizza that I've ever eaten. But unless you visit at an odd time like we did, plan to eat it elsewhere. The people are nice, too. Personally, if I'm going to visit Little Italy and spend $25-$50 per person, I want a relaxing environment with table service. Go here for the pizza - not the atmosphere.
google avatar

Helen E.

Yelp
Ordered a meatball sub and the Lombardi pizza. I finished the underwhelming sub purely because I was starving but threw the pizza in the garbage. The pizza was pure grease and undercooked. If I have to throw food away because it's inedible it's a no for me. I would never go back.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite pizza in Baltimore! The pizza is delicious and a great location. Right in the middle of Little Italy.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Isabellas has been my go-to sandwich joint in Little Italy for many years! Love their Verde, Caprese, Proscuittos, etc. Enjoy your sandwich at the nearby Bocce court.
google avatar

Aubrey F.

Yelp
Favorite place in little Italy for pizza and sandwiches! It's a fun little spot. All of the food is so fresh and made as ordered. I ordered a medium brick oven sandwich, the Zio Ronni. The Zio Ronni comes with soppressata, prosciutto, fontina cheese, mushrooms, pesto, tomatoes, and onions. It's amazing! Full of so much flavor!

Yelp
Best pizza Ive ever had. Service was great but the pizza can only be described with one word;beautiful. Will be coming back for more.

Tommy H.

Yelp
Pizza was pretty soggy and didn't seem to be fully cooked. Place was empty and not busy, didn't put any effort into their product. Pizza fell apart and couldn't even pick it up because of how wet it was. I was pretty disappointed, I will not come back. I will not recommend this place for pizza.
