"Every morning—especially on Sundays after tequila-soaked nights—locals climb down from their Victorians to revive themselves with a breakfast burrito from Cafe Isabella. The Mexican breakfast spot’s version is saucy and generously stuffed. Get the Best Friends, a tightly wrapped and griddled burrito with well-seasoned carnitas, eggs, cheese, and all the usual fixings. And be sure to drip their house hot sauce on every bite (just note it’s $1 extra). There are also espresso drinks for a jolt of caffeine." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, lani conway

Specifically, the Best Friends, which is loaded with well-seasoned carnitas, eggs, cheese, and the usual fixings (add avocado and sour cream for maximum richness). The inside is covered with decorations and overall the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Also, the outside section is great, the germaniums are gorgeous and they have rocking chairs and fires and an extremely nice outside seating with heat lamps too. It does get very busy so it makes the servers job harder and long waits should be expected. The food is great but I would only recommend this place for once in a while because of the long waits.

Google
Food and atmosphere is always great . Very busy, night time just very efficient workers. They do a great job on treating people nicely just need to check up more on the tables. 💯 for the kitchen, makes up for any mistake you can have till you get seated.

Google
Great spot to enjoy a meal after a round of golf or any other night of the week. We have 7 in our group and they take very good care of us. The staff was amazing. Our meal came out quickly and everyone's dish was perfect. We all had something different and they even substituted toppings on a pizza. Definitely a spot to go back and enjoy a meal with friends and family.

Google
Great space. Lots of seating, indoor and outdoor seating. Great service and good Italian food. We had the duck bruschetta, pizza and a kale salad. Beautiful place for a nice meal. They have a bar inside too. Misters on outdoors during summer and clean restrooms and lots of outdoor couch seating with a gas fireplace

Visited for dinner while we were in Scottsdale. The service was very good and the food was as well. Beautiful, unique spaces inside & out. Unfortunately it was January and a little too chilly for the beautiful patio.

My family had dinner here last week and the entire experience was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the atmosphere fun, and beautiful views of the sunset. The biggest thing that made our dining experience a memorable night was one of the chefs there- Chef Sammy. He went out of his way to chat with our 4 year old daughter as we were walking in, and he brought out to our table a special pizza made just for her by him. It made her feel so special and it was the BEST pizza she’s ever had. He was so kind to take the time to do this, and it was a night we will always remember.

Here's another cool place to visit to have a beer, some food and to enjoy the natural and artificial beauty that Arizona has to offer! This establishment is situated at the edge of a golf course. The place has a natural and open-air feel to it with large open windows facing the golf green, with a combination of old Native-American and old Spanish architectures abound. You totally feel relaxed here -- given the laid-back atmosphere. The service was friendly, accommodating and attentive. I highly recommend this place!

Google
Beautiful place. Good food, definitely make a reservation if you want to have your own table during busy hours. Highly recommend the Grapefruit Vojito and the Late night burger!

Yelp
We love Isabella's! Its near my parents place in Arizona, so we always pay Isabella's a visit when we're in town. We've been coming for years, but now that we have a toddler it's even more fun. Isabella's has a beautiful lawn overlooking the golf course and in the evenings it such a fun spot to bring the kiddos to run around. It is extremely family friendly (especially between 5 and 7:30pm)! The servers are all great. Whether it be a large group or lots of kiddos, they always are on top of it and very friendly. My go-to drink is typically a spicy margarita -- it's always got a great kick to it. The wagyu burger is my favorite, it's topped with cheddar, arugula, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, and garlic aioli. The menu can be a little hit or miss, but this is a great one! Isabella's is awesome. Can't wait to be back in Arizona to pay them another visit.

Yelp
This was a great place my friends took me too before and that I just 'found' again. I had a delicious sandwich sitting at the bar and had the great company of the charming Emily, who was a great bartender. The view of the Valley and, the mountains, in the background, and the award winning golf course. Should ake this a place to must on anyone's list.

Emma S.

Yelp
Sooo cute! The servers and staff were super friendly and accommodating and the cocktails were delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute place to go eat with friends!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Great spot for casual bites with a fantastic view of the golf course and mountains in the distance. Perfect place for grabbing cocktails & a good variety of appetizers while catching a beautiful sunset with plenty of outdoor seating and fire pits. The service is friendly & fast and the prices are reasonable.

Jimi J.

Yelp
Great food bad service. Hostess are very high school. It's all about being seen at a superficial place. But they have good chefs. Good food.

Scott B.

Yelp
Great outdoor patio. There is no happy hour. The service is not great. Very slow. The food is just okay. The real problem is the place is overrun with little kids 5 years old and under. It's as if the parents use the place as an after day care or school. Lots of screaming and crying and running around. No what I consider a relaxing sunset bar. With 100+ restaurants in North Scottsdale I would look elsewhere.

Becca S.

Yelp
Cute spot right on the golf course. We enjoyed their bruschetta ,some wings and the meatballs. The meatballs do not come with marinara and were a bit dry.

Chris D.

Yelp
Isabella's used to be a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the ambiance. Food has always been fresh and enjoyable. Lately the aspect of service has gone down the drain. Seems to have some servers who just don't know what they are doing, and new manager who sags his pants and very unpleasant. I will give it another shot ( food and the view is incredible).

Ziad S.

Yelp
No denying it's beautiful setting but for this caliber of restaurant you'd expect the food quality to match. Got chips and salsa, chicken chop salad, and calamari app. Nothing was bad but nothing was special. Lacking flavor. Maybe another dish would've been better. Views of the restaurant may be why they get away with average quality food.

Sara T.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. It's always a fun place to bring out of town guests because the views are gorgeous and it's a great vibe. The food is pricey and you'll need a reservation if you want to sit down and eat but it's quintessential Scottsdale with the view of the golf course and mountains. The grilled fish bowl, bruschetta, and pizzas are some of our favorites. The service is hit or miss but it's always so busy I can't really fault them for that. Sitting outside to catch the sunset is a must do!

Amy D.

Yelp
Lovely garden area with casual, yet inspiring lighting. Their menu was great to select from but my personal showstopper was the tiramisu! The servers did a great job with our large group and the establishment was very clean. Come with your friends or family for a semi-formal night out! -AT

Amber W.

Yelp
Great spot for a family-friendly dinner. And the food was even better than expected! Overall, we love the vibes at Isabella's Kitchen and can't wait to come back. We'll remember to make a reservation next time--it was pretty packed when we went on a Saturday night, but luckily we snagged a spot around the fire pit and near the grass where our kids could run around!

Crystal N.

Yelp
We were served by an amazing young lady, named Sophie. Sophie was very gracious, friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to. She suggested some drinks for us, and took care of us from start to finish. My first drink, which was a skinny mango margarita, which was served spicy, was great too. Thank you Sophie! The ambiance was great as well. I took a video of where we sat at the patio that overlooked the Grayhawk golf course, it was just stunning to be amongst this well curated desert beauty. Food was great too. I ordered a choice of 3 different bruschetta, and my husband ordered "The Butcher" pizza.

Patty S.

Yelp
The setting is beautiful but the food was not good. The lasagna was a huge plate of cheese. Maybe other items are better on the menu.

Veronica N.

Yelp
I'd never been here and came here to experience the atmosphere and the food. We were seated right away in a corner nestled way in the back. We were able to see all the happenings going on at the bar and the open area in front of us. It was a nice spot to people watch. we ordered the barbecue sliders and the calamari which was just enough to fill us up for a nice late night snack. There was loud music playing overhead and lots of people having a great time. Loved the vibe and will be back!

Karen F.

Yelp
Lovely outdoor seating and very good food. Highly recommend. Really good salads, french fries and burgers.

Jack F.

Yelp
The outdoor seating arrangements are plentiful and unique with such a beautiful view! Plenty of TVs to watch football as well. I got a Waygu Burger that was absolutely delicious. The servers here are very personable and helpful! Can't wait to come back!

Brandon S.

Yelp
The atmosphere is undeniably charming, with beautiful views overlooking the golf course, especially at sunset. It's no wonder the place is always packed. However, the service and food quality leave much to be desired. I've been coming here for years, and every time, the restaurant is busy, which is understandable. However, it seems the staff either isn't trained to handle the rush or there simply aren't enough servers to accommodate the crowd. Tonight, I tried the chicken parmesan based on my server's recommendation, and it was a huge disappointment. The chicken was tough, the so-called 'homemade' noodles were unappetizing and tasted more like instant ramen, and for $24, I expected much better. I couldn't even finish it. To make matters worse, I ordered a lemon drop martini, hoping for a refreshing drink. Instead, it was frothy and tasted overwhelmingly like lemon peel juice--not the well-balanced cocktail I anticipated. Overall, it's a lively spot with a great location and stunning views, but those perks come at the cost of subpar service, mediocre food, and poorly made drinks. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it for the price you pay.

Carie D.

Yelp
Very nice ambiance and food was good. There is an area outside for kids to hang out and play ball

Randall E.

Yelp
Walked in at 4pm looking for a table for two. Was told right way no tables, sit outside, or hit the bar tables. Was cold so we hit the bar tables. There were several available tables I could see in their "dining" room. Let's not be unfair and call this joint what it is. It's a a bar/local dive in my eyes. The service was decent. The drink list is good. Started with their calamari which tasted like tire tubes. Not good at all and clearly not fresh. The fish tacos were ok, but ridiculously loaded and too much proportionately. The Philly cheesesteak was a far away from Philly as one could get. Totally out of touch on how it should be. Shaved rib eye, and pick a cheese. Don't need the shrooms, peppers, fontina cheese. Just didn't work. Best part of the visit was the Old Fashioned, which was made spot on. Too many options in the area, so I'll leave this spot to the local crowd and the bar flys.

Jeff S.

Yelp
Got the crispy chicken salad to go. Two issues...the amount of chicken was disappointing and the avocado in it was OLD and DISGUSTING. See pic. If I owned a restaurant and that avocado was served I'd lose my mind.

Scott M.

Yelp
Love the vibe and service was amazing! Late night burger was delicious and cooked perfect. Islander Pizza was good and the Bruschetta was delicious. Dessert was the Pizza cookie.... Unreal... so good!

Jaleebi S.

Yelp
It has been a few years since I have visited Isabella's and the food, exactly as I remember, is still creative and delicious. The service, exactly as I remember, is why I tend to steer clear of North Scottsdale. The Bruschetta was on point. Many different flavors and tastes that paired perfectly. The entrees were good as well, fresh pasta lasagne and a nice chicken piccata with capers that I love. The servers are quintessentially Scottsdale. Much more interested in themselves and likely their appearance, than in helping my Mom with the heater.. how about a smile? Still a nice lunch outside but I'll wait untill it's a bit warmer for the next visit.

Yelp
I had heard about this place for a while, but it was hard to get a reservation in the Spring, and it's a long drive for us from Tempe, so I wanted to make sure we could get in. Planning almost a week in advance, we reserved an outdoor table and it was ready and waiting when we arrived. Our server came over right away and took drink orders. I don't remember her name, but she was very good. She checked in just the right number of times and at the right times. We decided to get a meat and cheese board (it really needs more bread than they give you, so we ordered more) and some salads and bruschetta to share, so we still had room for the gorgeous chocolate chip cookie desert. It worked out great - we grazed on our food for over an hour while watching kids running and playing on the grass, and admiring the mountain view (sorry no pics of that :)). The the fabulous dessert came out and we put away most of it. I did see another table enjoying the key lime pie and berry sorbet - so that may be our dessert next time. All in all, good food and service and a great outdoor seating option with views. I think I will add this to the list of places to take out of town company.

Robyn L.

Yelp
This place is cool- really like the ambiance. Lots of awesome indoor/outdoor seating options. Depending on the area of the restaurant it can be more of a sports restaurant vibe, or outdoors with a beautiful view. They only take reservations for parties 4 or less, but we did not have an issue getting a table at 6 for 6 people on a Tuesday evening. Food was all around good. Sandwiches were a hit. So were the brussel spout app and the fish taco bowl. A bit on the pricey side for what you get. We had one order of a pizza where the crust was a little soggy. But all in all mostly good orders. Friendly and attentive waitress. Plenty of free parking. Overall would recommend.

Sabrina J.

Yelp
We celebrated my mom's bday here. She had been trying to get us to go here for a while. I am a pretty big review person so when I read them, they didn't look good. We had no choice since this is the place she had picked. I have to say... everything was great! The service was good, the food was good, there was nothing I could complain about. Look forward to coming back!

Rick K.

Yelp
Had a lovely evening w a large group of friends (15 of us). They were very accommodating and service was good. The kale and quinoa salad was really good! I added salmon that was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The chicken wings were 7 out of 10. We went with the dry rub with wing sauce on the side. The oil may have been just a little old is why the 7/10. Otherwise they were cooked perfectly and had a light flavor w the dry rub that went well with the buffalo sauce. The crispy chicken sandwich was just so so. Nothing to rave about. Others had pizza that they really enjoyed and the roast beef sandwich that was a little heavy on the bread. I'm a proponent of proper bread to meat to veggie balance. It was a cool night and the outdoor fireplace and heat lamps took care of us. All in all a good adventure.

Herp D.

Yelp
We got our table today and a $120 ticket. Not a big deal until we put it in context. At 3:30 the manager (??? Random young 20s girl in short mini skirt) started hovering by our table awkwardly and then asked us if we had been informed about the reservation that was upcoming at 4:00 pm. It was 3:30 pm. We had not been notified about the reservation. She asked us to be out of the table by 3:50 pm and that they would relocate us inside. I was honestly appalled that she did not suggest moving us to any other table in the same class as ours or offering to comp any part of our meal. I was calm but firm and told her "this was incredibly unprofessional and off putting and makes us not want to come back to the restaurant and that we needed time to discuss." She then went off and came up with a solution on her own moving tables and didn't not once consider coming back to close the loop on the resolution and path forward. The other party did not show up on time and we were out of the table by 4:00 pm. This kind of shows the lack of any operations management at the place. They literally could have not rocked the boat and we would have had the table ready anyways. Also this lady literally avoided all eye contact with us and did not converse as we walked out of the restaurant in front of her. I think they could have navigated the whole situation better without this employee. Sounds like a classic case of management sharing metrics that then informs behaviors that lose sight of what's really important. Super bizarre offputting experience. Used to love this place until they pissed me off enough to write a review

K W.

Yelp
I went here twice this week and unfortunately, I do not recommend. The food is extremely average, but the reason they're getting one star is because they have terrible service from the hostess to the waitress, all very slow and unaccommodating. I had to ask for a highchair from three different people and had to wait about 15 minutes to have a highchair for my child. Our waitress, barely checked on us didn't refill glasses didn't come back to give us a to go box. Just overall very unimpressed and would not recommend. It's a vibe if you wanna grab basic bar type food after golf; think Applebee's mixed with Hooters type waitresses and class with Burger King service.

Amber M.

Yelp
Isabella's kitchen is hands down my favorite patio in scottsdale. It's an absolutely stunning scene on the golf course with Mountain View's. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The gm is the best! Isabella's is really great for large parties, celebrations or date nights. It's also extremely kid friendly with a large grass area for kids to play. The pizza's are off the charts amazing!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Great ambiance and views overlooking the golf course. You can dress pretty casual here; there are also a lot of folks in golf attire. Sunday evenings it's not busy and you can really take in all the views without worrying about finding a seat.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Isabella's is a nice, relaxing place to grab a drink or a light lunch while sitting outside with a view of the gorgeous golf course. This isn't your typical hot-dog and beer sort of golf restaurant. There's an extensive menu, with salads, fancy pizzas, and a variety of appetizers. Our group split the chips and salsa with guac (nothing special but always tasty!), crispy brussel sprouts (would recommend), and italian olive mixture (with some of the biggest olives we've ever seen). If you're not in the mood for an alcoholic drink, bottomless iced tea is a great choice. I was a fan of my entree, Isabella's House Salad, which included some fun ingredients (salami, pepperoncinis). I added grilled salmon for $9, which resulted in a $24 lunch salad. I'm not sure the salad was worth $24, but you pay a little more for the atmosphere and views. Not a place that I'd drive 30 minutes to visit for the food, but if you live in the area and are looking for a nice patio to grab drinks or a casual lunch on a course, Isabella's is a great choice.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Reasonable Happy Hour menu and the people watching is a blast! Outside boasts a large area grassy area so families can let their children play without disrupting the adult fun in the bar. Lovely sunset viewing location overlooking the golf course. Bartenders and service staff are friendly and prompt.

Tona G.

Yelp
Love eating here. Food is fresh. Staff is friendly. Always a great option for my picky eaters.

Chelsea E.

Yelp
Went here on a triple date night in May. The place was packed at 4p on a Saturday and I'm grateful we got a table. I could tell right away it seemed like a fun place. Scenery and views outside are very pretty. That's probably why most people come here (plus it's right by a golf course, so I'm sure some thirsty golfers come in after their day out in the sun). Service is extremely friendly, fast and efficient. Almost too efficient! At one point, she brought out a drink that someone didn't order (I think she just saw that a refill was needed and rang in a drink only for none of us to claim it). So we ended up with a free margarita, which was nice of her. What makes this 3 stars for me is the food. It just wasn't that great. Overall, very average. The chips and dip were okay (I much preferred the guac over the salsa); the bruschetta was really good (I tried the apple, brie and fig one) and the Brussel sprouts were surprisingly good with the sauce that came with it. However, as hungry as I was, the burger and fries I got were not that great. I finished my meal, more because I was super hungry than actually enjoying it. The burger was kid of charred on the outside and not very flavorful on the inside. The fries could have used more seasoning. I had two different margaritas and both were alright (prickly pear and the signature frozen marg). Again, not the best marg I've ever had and not the worst. All told, I would go back, but this place didn't knock my socks off or anything. But definitely appreciated the service and the apps.

Darya S.

Yelp
I'd recommend Isabella's for a fun dinner out, but what we ordered were hits and misses. My husband and I went without a reservation on a Sunday night and we got a spot at the communal table (where you can sit if you find space). Hits: Kale salad Meatballs appetizer Misses: Whiskey drink that husband got (he said it wasn't worth finishing after just a sip) Veggie pizza with sausage and pepperoni (it was fine. A little bit better than Pizza Hut). It's a good place to bring visitors if you sit outside with a reservation, since it's on a golf course and the ambiance is fun and lively. The food is a gamble.

Gloria P.

Yelp
It's a lovely setting. Friendly service. Food was nothing special. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again.

Christian P.

Yelp
This place had mid service and gave me a heart attack idk 1 star shit was mad greasy.

Mia C.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place was the salmon entree. The margaritas here are awful. The calamari lacked flavor. Noodles were under cooked. The service was 10% tip quality. Our server lacked communication on up-charge for things you wouldn't expect an up-charge on. And they take forever to service you on anything. The restaurant wasnt even busy because it was a rainy day. A let down for the area.

Lesley A.

Yelp
Beautiful golf course views and great staff! Food is flavorful and wine was awesome as always

Austin K.

Yelp
High-end neighborhood, service level of a Chuck E. Cheese.35-45 minute wait, no problem, 1.5 hours later, no table because all the empty tables have reservations in 15 minutes. Ok, just switch to a reservation only restaurant. Manager looks me dead in the face and says I'm trying to help you, but then says nothing I can do because those tables have reservations. He was essentially saying I don't care that we have completely let you down, maybe I won't let these other people down that aren't here yet. No attempt to make amends or ensure that we would give them another chance. Won't be back.

Kirsten D.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. First off the atmosphere is cool and with AZ weather it's the perfect spot to sit outside. The spicy Paloma drinks were fabulous. All of the food we ate was tasty as well. I may or may not have had multiple spicy Palomas so the deets are a tad fuzzy. I do know the service was excellent as well though!

Dean G.

Yelp
Why do I (or anyone else) subject themselves to the poor service, horrible food called Isalbella's? while they have an incredible sunset view it is TOTALLY not worth the poor quality of food they serve! there is nothing on the menu - and stupid me has been there several times to give them a chance while trying to find something edible. I thought the meat and cheese board would be an item that they couldnt screw up! but I was wrong - old inedible cheese, the meats (not much of it) were dry. The Bella mac and cheese was poor also, would have done better opening a box of Kraft! I will never go back, I suggest you dont either!

Cindy L.

Yelp
Sunsets are crazy! It's a fun place that has multiple feelings of dining, indoor, outdoor, bar, no bar. I love the bottle trees and the bottle Chandelier. Brittney took care of us tonight and I had a beer, super fun. I WOULD RECOMMEND.

Linda A.

Yelp
Love this location. Upscale and yet relaxed. The vive is fun, yet fantastic for family's. Beautiful views of the golf course. A fun happy and exciting place. Great food, service and drinks... Highly recommend this beautiful oasis in the desert.

Krystyan L.

Yelp
Love this place. Great atmosphere. I would recommend calling before hand because this place can get very busy quick especially during lunch or dinner time. But what makes it unique is the ambience and the views, it is stunning. Try to grab outdoor seating if the weather is nice you won't regret it. From my experience the wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the food came out pretty quick as long is not too busy and as always is delicious with great food dessert and drinks.

Carol S.

Yelp
First time here. Food was fresh, our waiter Eddie was above and beyond. Our reservation was slated outside but the wind made it impossible to dine. I asked for the manager and he kindly said he had no indoor seating available. So we sat outside at our table. Five minutes later Nick. ( the manager) came to our table and told us he made room for us inside. Now that is amazing service! Thank you Nick!!!!!

Deanna L.

Yelp
Stopped in for a bite and a drink after a charity event. We had 2 pizzas...veggie and sweet/spicy. They were Excellent! Drinks were yummy! Service at the bar was super friendly.
