Ise-Shima is the Japanese restaurant of the Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance, Los Angeles. The main dining room of the hotel restaurant is elegant and spacious. Servers are polite, accommodating, and professional. Although price is not cheap, the Tuna Lunch Special (USD 46) is fresh and delicious.

If you’ve been on a Japanese business class flight and love the food, then this is the spot to come to. The bento style is similar and good also. The quality of the food here is also really good and enjoyable. The decor in this restaurant is super nice. Great for a dinner date if you know what I mean.

Nice surprise for a hotel restaurant! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service team was excellent! Of note, the yellowtail carpaccio, yellowtail collar, ala carte sushi and nigiri!

Loved it loved it loved it! The restaurant is beautiful!! We had an amazing waitress who recommended the beef appetizer,, and boy it was so good! Our waitress was very nice, and did a great job sealing in the 5 stars. The chefs cut thick cut sashimi, and made some killer Ramen! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! This is my favorite hotel to stay in when I go to Los Angeles, and because of the restaurant and the amazing showers, it's the only place I will stay. The rooms are spotless, and the restaurant is just as clean! Easy 5 stars! Thank you everyone for great food and service.

Omakase - we leave to the Mater Sushi Chef's selection, we were well served with his artistic Sushi creations, and their excellent service. 13 course meal with soup and desert (green tea muse cake) not pictured. Each plating is like telling you a story of its own, but well connected like episodes, the tiny crab in the 2nd picture is actually eatable (crispy).

I enjoy eating Ise-Shima Combinations Bento which is really good . And my brother and sister also enjoy eating The Hinamatsuri Bento Special which is last month. Fun Fact Hinamatsuri is a Girl Day in Japan!! The Ise-Shima is located inside the Miyako Hybrid Hotel. They have many good and different meals. They have Salads, Sandwich, Bento, Curry, and Sushi’s!! So I recommend going to this place for either lunch or dinner!!

Visited Ise-Shima while staying at the hotel. It’s pricey but authentic and reminded me of being in Tokyo. Service was great, food was really good, sashimi was delicious and the rice and mushrooms and ginger and fish eggs were top grade. Paired with a beer it made for a lovely evening dinner in a Sunday night. Great place to bring someone, staff are all Japanese which adds to the authenticity. There’s many places in the area but if you want the ambience and great location then it’s worth venturing into the hotel and trying the food here.

WAITED OVER 90 MINS. ONLY SERVED 1/2 MEAL DUE TO SLOW SERVICE. MANAGEMENT NOT HELPFUL TO RESOLVE ISSUES. Very disappointed with Ise-Shima and Miyako Hotel. My wife and I were excited for the renovation and reopening of Ise-Shima. We booked a table for 2 on 12/23/23 to celebrate her birthday and their grand reopening. We each ordered the $150 Ise Course to experience the best they have to offer. The food that we did eat was very delicious but the service was not satisfactory at all. We waited very long between courses, so long that 1 1/2 hours passed and we were not even served the main course. We expected to have completed our meal within 2 hours but we still had 5 more dishes including the main course that wasn't served yet. My wife and I made plans expecting the meal would be finished on time but with how long they were taking we had to notify the manager that we need to leave to make it to our other engagement. When I explained the situation the team went to check with the chef to see if there was anything they could do. The chef essentially said no, they cannot help because the food was not conducive to travel, they cannot pack it so I can take it with me. I asked if I could stop the meal early and they also told me no. The only solution they offered was to serve the rest of the courses all at once. The main course arrived we took a few bites but ultimately could not finish the rest of the meal because we lost our appetite after having to wait for so long. We asked the staff to please pack whatever we could take with us, it was only the fruit and tart dessert from the menu. Lastly we kept waiting for someone to come to our table to ask for the check but no one came. I had to walk to the front desk and ask them to please let me play my bill at the front. I paid the full price of $330 and was only able to eat half of the meal because the chef and the kitchen were very slow. The manager was not very accommodating or understanding of the situation and could only offer an apology as consolation. I'm very disappointed because I enjoyed Ise-Shima in the past and have dined at the Miyako Hotel many times.

Yelp
We ate here yesterday. After having several bad experiences at some local sushi restaurants, my BFF mentioned Ise-Shima to me, located inside the MIYAKO HYBRID HOTEL, on Western Ave, in GARDENA. We ate some of the best Sushi I've ever had, it was heavenly. Spider roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Chu Toro Nigiri, 3 kinds of Chefs App, and the Rainbow Rolls were so delicious, the contrast of this location compared to other sushi restaurants were night and day.The pictures says it all. The Shushi Chefs were true professionals. I highly recommend Ise-Shima for anyone who wants a fresh high high-quality fish.

Yelp
The fixed price dinner we recently had was a good value. The staff was attentive and the presentation was also good. The restaurant has a lot of space so we were able to dine without anyone dining close to us. We didn't care for the tempura with the corn batter as it was heavy/oily and not indicative of a traditional Japanese tempura usually served with a dipping sauce.

Yelp
Use-Shima locates inside of a Japanese hotel. The restaurant is modern and elegant. We made a reservation for a Saturday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The server quickly sat us know at a 4-person table, which I like to have more space. The price is in the higher side. We ordered 1 seasonal dinner set, beef tongue, fried chicken, a side order giant clam, and a curry Chicken rice. Everything came out fast. The yuzu beef tongue was delicious, juicy and soft. Fried chicken was flavorful. The curry rice was as surprisingly good, considering this is more of a sushi place. The seasonal dinner set came with lots of variety of food, sashimi set, sushi, salad, miso soup, beef, tempura, and even a dessert. We throughly enjoyed everything we had. We also ordered a sesame cheesecake to share. It was another surprisingly tasty treat. Will definitely come back again on another special occasion.

Yelp
Ise-Shima is fine Japanese dining in the Miyaki Hybrid Hotel so be prepared to pay a pretty penny or hope your business expenses cover it. We made reservations for 6 without too much trouble and ordered the Ise Course meal ahead of time. For dinner it ran about $100/person. The course meal is like 7 courses? I lost count but it was certainly presented well and pretty good. Tea was complimentary and we probably drank a little too much but oh well! The first course was a mushroom dish that was light and tart, prepping my stomach for a full meal. The second course was a cute tray of assorted appetizers: squid, seaweed, escargot, and some savory-ish soup. Third, we got some nicely flavored and seasoned bamboo shoots. Fourth, a delicious plate of fresh sashimi that melts in your mouth. Fifth, tempura including scallop tempura which was new for me. Goes pretty well with their matcha salt. The sixth course is the main entree, black miso cod or steak with rice and miso soup. My fiancé and I shared the cod and steak. Nothing beats a tender and buttery black miso cod and the steak was cooked well and juicy. Dessert was a matcha panna cotta/pudding type dish that was not too sweet. So all in all, this is a nice place for a fancy-ish dinner but certainly not a regular occurrence given how pricey it is. But hey, now I can say I've tried it!

Yelp
Very pricey, but you'll definitely get fresh fish. Two people ended up paying $250, with only one highball alcoholic drink. Assorted sashimi 5/5 - fresh fish. You get 3 of most items , 2 of the higher end items. Scallop was one of them, very fresh and had a sweet profile. Deluxe chirashi 4/5 - fresh fish, good selection. But wow, very minimal uni for the price of the dish. It was like a little teaser. Chicken cutlets 5/5 - loved how juicy the chicken was on the inside and how crispy the tempura shell was on the outside. Clear broth soup 4/5 - loved the clean soup taste, but $9 for a small bowl with two floating pieces of mushroom and a small piece of sea bass is pretty steep. We came for the breakfast buffet the next day by 8am. Most items were running out and it didn't seem like they were refilling. Minimal traditional Japanese items, wish they had a little more. Overall, I liked this place but the price tag is pretty high for being in an area where there's a lot of options for japanese

Yelp
With all the high end sushi omakase and sushi restaurants popping up all over Southern California that have zero Japanese individuals involved, it's always fantastic to find a gem such as Ise Shima. Having recently returned from Amanemu in Ise Shima Japan, the ambiance and flavors of this restaurant brought back so many pleasant memories. Located inside the lobby of a Japanese Hotel, the mid tier decor and spotless everything is pure Japanese. Service is Michellin level and food is among the best in Southern California. Lunch arrangements are available in the traditional kaiseki style and it does not get any more authentic. When you have the entire flight crew of Japan Airlines staying and dining there, you know it's among the best in the LAX area. I shall not gate keep. Enjoy.

Yelp
Got the Premium assorted Nigiri sushi and LOVED it all! It came with a side salad, miso soup and all the pieces were delicious, including the mackerel and uni (I usually don't like those but the mackerel wasn't fishy, and the uni was very creamy and buttery!). We also got fried squid and it was just okay to me. I would recommend skipping it. For desserts, they had 4 options but the 3 of us couldn't decide so we got all 4 lol I'd say the best were the yuzu cheesecake and black sesame cake! We were sooo full but our belly was very happy after this dinner. Service was impeccable, great atmosphere, and we were able to make a reservation for Friday dinner, the day of. Definitely a 5/5 experience all around ^_^

Yelp
Ise-Shima is located at the Miyako Hybrid Hotel. The restaurant is elegant and sophisticatedly adorned with Japanese decor. The restaurant is spacious with various seating areas, including private booths. I got their kaiseki style lunches - Tuna Lunch Special ($47) - If you're a tuna lover, this one is for you. Its comes with: salad w/ albacore tuna, bluefin tuna sashimi, toro tuna & vegetable tempura, 3 kinds of tuna sushi, negi toro cutroll, and red miso soup. Everything was plated beautifully and was delicious! Seasonal Lunch Special ($43) - Get this if you want variety! The set comes with salad, bluefin tuna and hamachi sashimi, braised vegetables, shrimp/scallop/vegetable tempura, grilled miso king mackeral, mountain vegetable rice, egg custard, soup w/ sea bass, & dessert. I actually preferred this over the tuna special. The mackerel was cooked and seasoned well, with the miso flavor deeply penetrating the fish. Love the fresh sashimi and warm egg custard. I'd skip the cocktails (at least during lunch). We got the expresso martini & yuzu south, which didn't wow me. Pretty standard cocktails while not being memorable or something I'd get again. Stick with sake options to be safe. Unfortunately, they no longer offer the chirashi lunch sets. Although, the rest of the menu is still worth exploring. Service was friendly but could be a bit slow sometimes (due to how busy they were and how big the restaurant was). Free parking at the hotel lot.

Yelp
This is probably the best spot in town for a great, authentic Japanese lunch. I've been here about 3-4 times with my company when we're in the mood for a special lunch. The bento lunch option is top notch. Its usually served with rice, light flavorful soup, fresh sashimi, steamed vegetables, tempura, cooked filet of fish and a dessert. Each of the dishes had very well balanced flavors, and was made with , fresh ingredients. I would definitely reccomend this place if you're in the mood for a fancy lunch.

Yelp
Great sushi spot inside the Miyako Hotel in Torrance! Fresh sushi, modern ambiance, and excellent service. The sushi chef was friendly and made the solo counter experience really enjoyable. Highly recommend the omakase or the bento box -- both are delicious and reasonably priced. Perfect for a solo visit or a relaxed sushi night!

Yelp
I am always on the lookout for an authentic Japanese restaurant experience similar to today's Japanese tastes - whether it be a solid yoshoku restaurant, an izakaya, or a traditional washoku restaurant, my goal with Japanese restaurants is always to try to find a place whose flavor profiles resemble what I have when I visit Japan. It was by sheer fortunate that I happened to find this restaurant on Yelp. Not only is kaiseki on the menu, but the restaurant also has lunch sets that resemble shokado bentos. The pictures were extremely promising so I knew I had to give it a try. I booked a reservation ahead of time and came on a Saturday. Being at Miyako Hotel, the staff were amazing. The restaurant is quite spacious with copious seating. We were sat at a very nice table. After some careful deliberating, my wife and I both ended up getting the seasonal special. For autumn, the lunch menu started with chawanmushi and a salad. The salad came with a yuzu dressing which was nice. The chawanmushi had shrimp and mushrooms and was quite tasty. The lunch set itself was amazing. Tuna and yellowtail sashimi with freshly grated wasabi, braised vegetables, yellowtail teriyaki, various tempura, chestnut rice, and an amazing soup, delivered a wide variety of subtle and elegant flavors for my palate. Everything was amazing, but I loved the vegetables, sashimi, and soup. There was also a chestnut ice cream dessert which was an excellent ending to the meal. This was an amazing, incredibly authentic washoku experience in Torrance. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place for the best tasting sushi! I thought I was back in Japan! They have a terrific mixed sushi lunch Special. I highly recommend Ise-Shima! The aura /atmosphere is so nice and relaxing! The waiter staff are so nice and efficient. You won't be disappointed. It's a hidden "Gem" in the South bay area.

Yelp
I came here the other night for dinner and really enjoyed my experience. This restaurant is inside the Miyako Hybrid Hotel and there is free parking in the hotel parking lot right in front of the entrance. Ambiance: the hotel smelled really nice when we walked in. The restaurant is very clean, modern, and welcoming. I actually felt like I was on a staycation while dining here. Food: the dinner menu had a good variety of options. There are a la carte options, rolls, sushi, noodles, curry, and combinations for example. I think what stood out the most was how authentic and clean the flavors were. My only criticism was I felt that the steak in the combo was a little under seasoned. Otherwise I really enjoyed my dinner and look forward to coming back. Service: everyone was very friendly. No complaints. Overall I would recommend this restaurant especially for a date night.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese food and amazing service! Everyone was nice, but Luis stood out with exceptional hospitality. We stayed for a long time after lunch, enjoying coffee. During the break between lunch and dinner service, he brought us more hot coffee and even gave us take-out cups. Thank you, Luis--you gave us the best service I've ever had!

Yelp
I had the buffet breakfast while I was staying in the (Miyako) hotel. I'm no expert on Japanese breakfast buffets, but to me, it seems a bit pricy ($31/person) for what you're getting. The menu is located on their website, but here's some of the Japanese menu items they had when I visited: Grilled Fish (Salmon and Mackerel), Tamago, Hijiki, Pickled Veggies, Natto, and Miso Soup. American options included made to order eggs and/or omelette, sausage and bacon. They also had a few pastry items. Overall, it's a good experience if you're interested in the Japanese food items. However, personally, nothing was extraordinary to me since I have most of the items I ate here on a semi-regular basis anyways.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place! The staff was friendly and attentive, and I really loved the Japanese-style decor. I had the wagyu beef course, and it was to die for. I'm definitely going back to try their other set courses. They do have a a la carte option, but I feel like to get the full experience you should get a set course. ENJOY! PS: Restaurant is in the Miyako Hybrid Hotel and there is a free parking lot.

Yelp
I was used to eat dinner here with my husband. I like their food. This time I had lunch with my girlfriends and it was good. I ordered today's grilled fish lunch. It was yum and has salad, miso soup and steamed egg pudding(savory). We also shared black sesame rice cake and matcha cheesecake. I liked them both. It's pretty much Japanese potion and not American potion. Only 2 complaints for them are Their white rice is very low quality. Also the spoon for steamed egg pudding was ridiculously small so I couldn't eat some... I usually park on street since they have too many staff parking spots and not for many spots for customers.

Yelp
We tried the breakfast buffet! It's a bit pricey but i still found it totally worth it because im a japanese breakfast fanatic. it was very homey and there were a lot of pickled veggie options. very classic japanese breakfast with no frills. you get two kinds of fish options - mackerel or salmon. they aren't phenomenal but i still loved it all for the nostalgia. it's all self serve and the servers come around to grab your empty plates. there are some continental breakfast items like scrambled eggs but obv, i wasn't there for that haha there is also coffee and green tea ready to be consumed. i thought it was better than fukagawa!!! definitely will be back some time...

Yelp
We stayed for several weeks at the hotel and it was a pleasure to have dinner and drinks here many nights. On the weekends they have a happy hour from 3-5:30 that lets you try some of their great smaller dishes for a great price. For dinner they offer an ala carte menu and a sushi menu or a few price set meals. Everything we had was great, especially the sushi. I highly recommend the chicken katsu curry. All of the waitstaff and bartenders were friendly and excellent at their job. The restaurant is very beautifully designed as well. Just an all around nice night out.

Jeff N.

Yelp
We went on a Thursday night, and it was really empty. I was wondering how they could stay open with only a few tables filled. We just came back from Japan so maybe this isn't a totally fair review. The sushi was fresh, but the rice was softer than we were used to coming from Japan. My daughter was hoping they had inari, but they did not. We also ordered the tempura which was good. I ordered their clear soup, but I probably wouldn't order it again. We also ordered their chicken katsu curry. The crunch on the katsu was serious (not bad), and the rice was pretty firm to the point where my daughter said she got some crunchy rice, but the curry was good. The ambience was pretty nice. It looks like they redid it recently. The service seemed a little newb as our waitress interrupted our conversation 3x. Unfortunately, I don't think we will come back with all of the amazing Japanese food in Torrance and LA.

Yelp
Me and my besties annual birthday brunch restaurant. The breakfast buffet is perfect. Not overwhelming with so many items. Quality food over quantity. We go back each year.

Yelp
Brought by a friend and I was so glad I came. This is a hidden term inside the Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance. During the happy hours, we tried 80% of the small dishes. The fried oysters are a must-try. With or without the sauce, you can eat fresh oysters with their sweet, smooth texture and crunchy shells. The beef was tender and well-marinated, and the sauce did not overkill it to its taste. It made me feel like I needed a bowl of rice to have more! The fried chicken was at a suitable temperature; the meat was juicy, not dry. The squid stake was ok compared to other outstanding dishes. The cocktail was oolong tea-based, which was not disappointing: A good combination of citrus and tea. It is very refreshing but gentle. For dessert, I got the black sesame rice cake. The texture is more concrete than flour; it was so good. The cream, sesame paste, and cake made a beautiful harmony. One of our friends also tried the match cake and loved it. We are coming back next time to try their dinner dishes. They also have a sushi bar with a sushi chef making fresh sushi. Service was nice. Both the bartender and the server were friendly and checked on us in a good time manner (not too frequently) but able to catch the moment we needed help. Parking is effortless (hotel parking), and it's free.

Yelp
Great Japanese restaurant in the Miyoko Hybrid Hotel (never stayed at the hotel) in the Torrance area. This restaurant is a great place for family gatherings, and has excellent Japanese food, service and classy ambiance. Plenty of free parking in the lot, as well as food selection. We only go to the restaurant to dine, but I have noticed on multiple occasions that this is a popular place for international Japanese flight crew to stay at while staying overnight in Los Angeles/LAX.

Yelp
Ise Shima is an amazing, elevated Japanese restaurant located in the Miyako! They serve a lot of great set meals, but this time we tried their special scallop dishes that they're featuring for the rest of the month! We tried their sweet and sour scallops, tempura scallops with matcha salt, yuzu miso scallops and so much more! All their dishes had such perfectly cooked pieces of Japanese scallop that were huge and delicious! Our server Miyako was so sweet and friendly, and I love how the head chef comes to check in on all the tables! I highly recommend making a reservation and coming here for a great night out.

Yelp
Food is good, kind of small in quantity but probably because of the bento I chose. Think the seasonal bento would've had more mass than the Tuna Bento. (Lunch) Sat at the private booth which was nice - dad's recommendation. Service was good as well. Wish that I got the seasonal bento instead now lol.
google avatar

Yelp
Our group has an annual event for around 100 people here. We get one of the bento boxes and everything is delicious. The sushi/sashimi is fresh and well prepared. The service is efficient and friendly, and the restaurant and hotel public areas are well-maintained. The closest parking lot is a bit small, but there is a large lot across the street that can handle the overflow. This restaurant is great for parties and special occasions.

Yelp
This restaurant is in the Miyoko Hybrid Hotel in Torrance. I hadn't been there since before Covid and both the hotel and restaurant seem to have changed. I ordered the Tuna Special for lunch. It was quite a bit more expensive than I had expected to pay BUT the sushi was amazing.....absolutely amazing. The best I have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch but be prepared to pay for an exquisite meal!

Yelp
Went here with my family a while back to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was amazing! High end, great quality food with excellent presentation, and great service. The creativity and thought that went into each dish was awesome. We ordered the salmon skin salad appetizer and it was a great way to start our meal. The salmon was crispy, and lettuce was so fresh. The portion was very generous so I recommend either sharing it as an appetizer with a few people, or it can honestly be a meal on its own. The 4 of us shared 2 of the Ise-Shima Course dinners, which is definitely pricy, but was a LOT of food. Each of the dinners came with the choice of a meat - Chilean sea bass with miso, black cod with miso, unagi, or US beef steak. We got 1 with the black cod, and 1 with the Unagi. It also came with sashimi, tempura, nimono veggies, assorted appetizers, miso soup, assorted sushi & a special chef's choice dessert. The tempura was perfect - hot, crispy, and fresh. The fish was such great quality and fresh. Each cut of fish was generous as well. Service was amazing. The staff was so sweet and friendly. They answered any questions we had about the menu. Our waters were always filled. Since there were so many courses, we had a lot of dishes, and they took our dishes away to clear space. They were so attentive! Strongly recommend coming here to celebrate a special occasion, a date night, or if you're feeling like treating yourself. Such a nice restaurant!

Yelp
I love everything about this place. Delicious food, friendly staff, ambient, upscale vibes, and competitive prices/perfect portions. I usually order their seasonal set every time I come here for lunch. Never disappoints! Oishi!

Yelp
Excellent service! Attended a group dinner (birthday celebration) in a private area. The servers did an excellent job keeping up with drinks and waters. Our dinners were all served at the same time, hard to do with large groups. Food was very good and the options for the menu were all great! Nice room layout, we were all at one long table with lots of room move around and mingle. Parking is always easy at Miyako Hybrid as they have a second overflow lot for guests. In addition, they offer valet parking. Definitely would recommend the hotel for stays. Great inhouse restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great for private events or just private dining. Plenty of space for private events just off the lobby.

Yelp
I don't know where to start, but I won't bury the lead. I had a weird feeling after I ate a bunch of nigiri . The sushi was so soft (scallop, blue fin, sea bream). Like no texture at all. Something didn't feel right. Less than 24 hours later started a 24 hour pretty brutal bug that had to be from this meal. I mention those fish specifically because other than those, my wife and I ate the same items. In fear of sounding douchey, I will qualify things with saying that when you eat an absolute ton of sushi and you just know when something doesn't taste right. Now, other than becoming ill, there are some other things worth mentioning. The location is in a weird area inside a seemingly nicer, indy hotel off the beaten path where you would not expect a hotel. The restaurant is very large, and was very empty sans maybe 5 other tables of business dinners. Obviously a large, not very busy sushi spot gave me the feeling that potentially the fish isn't being turned around as quickly. This place is VERY expensive. $8 for one piece scallop nigiri, $7 one piece of yellowtail. Typically at places where nigiri is per piece, you expect much higher quality. The nigiri menu is smaller with several set menus offered w a combo of several pieces of nigiri and miso soup. In total for two people - 6 orders of nigiri (lets say two pieces per order for this calc), salmon hand roll, negitoro cut roll, black cod (which was good), one miso soup, NO drinks - $160 out the door and we went really light on the food. Pretty wild. Ate here on 12/12/24.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant to dine-in, or relax over a beer or tea. You can also sit down and get some work done with the free WIFI. Service is always on point and friendly. I've tried their food before and it's authentic Japanese. They have a bar, high tables, and comfortable tables spread throughout.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food! My husband and I were staying at the hotel and decided to grab some sushi for dinner. We are not used to true Japanese restaurants so we did ask if they made sushi rolls like a California roll and spicy tuna. The sushi chef agreed to make both which we really appreciated. While we were surprised at the presentation...the flavors were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our hand rolled sushi! I also tried a pineapple martini which the bartender made incredibly stiff, but I wasn't complaining! All around an excellent experience. The hotel is also BEAUTIFUL so we were very happy with everything this trip!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant on Sunday 2/5/23 and was so in shock at how empty the place was for lunch. Maybe it's not as popular because it's a hotel restaurant (inside Miyako hotel) but the fish quality and value is so worth it. Feels like a Torrance gem that not many people know about. I saw some other reviews calling out how the fish quality was OK and could be better, but that was not my experience. Maybe they have improved this year or I was just lucky, but I thought it was great. I eat Japanese food/raw fish often and would definitely go back here. The lunch sets are unbeatable in value. Highly recommend the Chirashi Gozen, because for only $39 you get a beautiful chirashi bowl that also comes with cooked salmon, tempura, an oden dish, and clam miso. Wow! The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive. Maybe because we were one of few customers that day, but they must've filled my tea at least 5 times. It never got empty.

Yelp
Very authentic Japanese restaurant with attentive service and delicious food. Good bento options and lunch combos. A bit on the pricier side but worth it.

Yelp
Use-Shima is the restaurant in the Miyako hotel. I was staying here on a business trip and they offered a 10% discount so thought I give it a try. The dinner set looked interesting and the Yelp review were quite high. It's quite a large restaurant and decor is quite nice. I chose the Miyako course dinner and selected the black cod for me main dish. The salad was served first and though the greens were fresh it was drenched with the dressing. It took a while for the dinner set but I enjoyed my asahi that they had on tap. The dinner set came and presentation was good. The black cod was good as well as the tempura and miso. Overall though it was just average. My expectations were a bit more due to price range and ratings.

Yelp
Food was good. They forgot to bring salad so we got salad after we finished main course and there is no desert for lunch menu so I asked tea and desert after meal Service was not very good but I will try again with dinner course next time I liked steak and saikyo yaki but teriyaki chicken was not recommended. Tenpura or sashimi are good here

Yelp
This is an underrated restaurant and cool full bar operated in a modern Japanese style. The service is spectacular no matter how big your party is. I've gone to the bar solo for dinner and have had at least 3 people trying to help me with my food and dining experience. The drinks are also very good too, with a seasonal house cocktail menu and good Japanese beers on tap. The food that I've had such as the hamachi-kama tastes amazing. Not only is the fish quality good but the preparation and garneshes are perfect. The proportion is also a good size for a single meal or sharing. I feel similarly about the sushi I have here. The one difficult part of this restaurant is that it can be a bit pricey. You are paying for high quality food, service, and a hotel atmosphere, so unless you are very thrifty, don't come here expecting a discount meal. There's other places like CoCo Ichibanya that give you the cheap fast food experience if that's what you need. Come here if you want something high class.

Yelp
Great service. Very friendly staff. Food quality is good. Nice atmosphere. Tried the Ise Course, plenty of food but some lacking flavors. Such as the soup and the scallop ball and Japanese sea bass with ankake but presentation is very nice. Would at least try it once to form your own opinion.

Yelp
Restaurant was renovated at the end of 2023 and hadn't been there in a while but when we had dinner a couple of weeks ago, was pleasantly surprised with the overall change in food presentation. Not that presentation was bad before but it is classier and fit for an upscale hotel restaurant. Of course taste is always excellent, and service is what you can expect from a high rated establishment. The fish selection for their Chirashi was a good assortment, not heavy on just tuna, salmon, and yellowtail.

Yelp
Great lunch specials average $40. Wonderful variety of grilled fish, tempura, sashimi, soup, side dishes, salad and even dessert. Friendly service and nice ambiance. My family's go to when we want Japanese cuisine.
