This was a wonderful lunch experience here today. Unlike other places in the venue, this is not a kiosk, but a separate restaurant with full seating inside plus the patio area. Add a full bar and a happy hour feature and it's a winner.
They've only been open for about a month. So they're still getting known. Although they're touted as "Australian" there's not that much on the menu that would let you know that -- besides the weird sense of humor in the added menu comments! Do read the small print for a laugh. And admire the very cute koala bears on the bar -- each serving as a holder for straws.
Since we came mid day, on a Sunday, they were offering their brunch menu, and their "all day" menu. They also have a few meals that are only available after 5 pm.
My husband tried a house Bloody Mary. I enjoyed a sip and stole his olives!
He ordered their mushroom toast which he declared was delicious. The mushrooms were in a creamy cheesy sauce with a poached egg and fresh dill -- all over sourdough bread. He ate every single crumb! (That's a sign that he loved it!). And he said he would order this again, next time we came.
I was more in the lunch mood, so I ordered their "chicken Sandy". The sandwich, too, was very good. A very generous portion of grilled white meat chicken, cut in pieces, along with broccoli (!), pesto, and cheese on sour dough bread. I had fries as my side, but you could also choose salad as an option. There were a lot of thin and crispy fries. A most generous portion -- cooked well done, as requested. I wound up taking half my lunch home -- even after sharing some of the fries.
Service was very good and attentive. We were checked on often. We even met the manager, Josh, who came over to make sure all was okay. We told him we'd be sure to tell all our friends about our delicious experience.
I hope they do well here. I want to come back and try a lot more things on their menu.
