Great atmosphere and good food! They have a great happy hour with lots of cocktails. The starred items on the menu were discounted for happy hour. We went on a Friday night and were surprised that the place wasn't busy. We ordered the papa rellena, cebiche Isla, and the pollo a la brasa. Everything was perfectly done. It was delicious and we devoured all of it.

My first time eating at this place during SXSW and St. Patrick's day. We had the ceviche and it was amazing! I also had their good signature cocktail called painkiller.

Great food and drinks downtown! If you miss Caribbean vibes and great rum, check this place out! More of a Peruvian cuisine establishment but the whole interior and drink menu screams Caribbean! Prices are a bit high, but if you come during happy hour you can stock up on $5 cocktails and great apps before hitting the rest of Downtown.

This is a fun bar! They waiters are awesome, friendly, funny and make the most amazing cocktails. If you're a rum lover, they have plenty to choose from,. The happy hour is great, definitely visit them!

Wow, what a surprise! The food here is incredible. I had the papafritas and the chicken, and both were outstanding. Very nice experience, staff was great, the chef came out to our table and talked through the origin of some of the food, it was wonderful! REALLY great cuban jazz playing in the background, too.

Great food, drinks, and atmosphere, with an incredible value during happy hour. This is the sister restaurant to Peche, the pre-prohibition themed bar and restaurant next door. Isla, as the name implies, has an island theme incorporated into their menu, cocktails, and decor. The tacos and the pineapple margarita I had was fantastic. The corn tortillas in the tacos were delicious and just perfectly cooked, and the three types of tacos I had (chicken, pork, and fish) were all great. What really blows me away about this place is the value during happy hour: all of their specialty cocktails (~dozen) were five dollars, and several food items (including the chef's choice of 3 tacos) were half off. I had a fantastic, filling meal, a cocktail, and an appetizer, for around 15 bucks before tip. I don't know of a better mid-week dinner value downtown.

Probably the best place to eat tropical food. The concept changed from Pan-Caribbean to mostly Peruvian cuisine, but not to worry, it's still beautifully executed concept. Everything I've tasted is pleasantly superb. The service is friendly -I always sit at the bar, so I can't vouch for the waiters-, and very helpful. Shane is the best and Julio, the new Peruvian chef is a master. Swing by on Tuesday or Wednesday and I'll probably be there for all day happy hour. Cheers, Salud!!!

Happy hour featured a nice selection of rum-based drinks. The beer selection was fairly narrow but of high quality. I went there with a large party and we had multiple checks. Our server was having a lot of trouble working the bar's POS system to get everyone's tab.
