The Best Puerto Rican Restaurants In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Don’t walk away in defeat if Isla Del Encanto’s windows look boarded up. The Kendall spot is undergoing renovations, but you can still dine outside (just use the bathroom before you arrive) or take their picadera platter of crackly arañitas, alcapurrias, and pastelillos de carne to go. Get the mamposteao with generous chunks of juicy churrasco mixed inside. If you’re in a soupy mood, go for the chicken asopao. It’s a delicious jacuzzi that should last for at least two more meals in your week." - mariana trabanino

Food tasted like home cooking very authentic very well season. Puerto Rican pastel delicious. We had to sit outside because of the restaurant is in renovation mode, but soon to be open. Taíno Plaster. Very good value for the money for people can eat very well. Will be coming back soon.

It’s been a while since I been here and just because they are a bit far from my house. But this small gem is definitely cozy, colorful and nicely decorated, serving amazing and authentic puertorican food. All the drinks and food we ordered tasted fresh and so delicious. Our server was nice, friendly and attentive.

Patricia was great. Food was good but rice little bit warm not hot. Beans portion should be larger but they were good. Also ketchup should be larger portion.

If you like amazing food come to Isla Del Encanto! Everything is delicious! Flan was sabroso! Jose was a great waiter too. You have to ask for him when you come. Excellent service. Music is perfect as well. Love the decor and ambiance. 10 stars! 😋😍🇵🇷

Google
Everything was delicious. We ordered two fishes that look identical and taste amazing with little grease. We also ordered 2 Trifongo which is 10x better than a monfongo because is made of green plantains, yellow plantains and yuca all mash together with chicharrón pieces inside😋😋along with some chicharrón de pollo on the side.🥰 Everyone from the waiter to the owner were very attentive and quickly to bring any additional request we had. If we had something to complain about I would say the carne de res was the least favorite, but definitely not horrible. We also tried the Yunque drink which was amazing 😍 It taste similar to a mojito drink but without alcohol. They are also going to continue their buffet back up starting Friday since they had stopped because of the pandemic and I can’t wait to try it; they will have over 10 different dishes to choose from😱

Google
The reason I provided a five (5) star review for this spectacular Native Puertorrican restaurant is due to the fact that every effort possible was made by the owner to make sure the experience is true to homemade food from Puerto Rico. From it’s great location, available parking and decor - with it’s ambiance… amazing experience🙏 From the native Mavi drink, which is VERY well made, to the appetizers, entrees and amazing dessert (tembleque) I can only share, that I absolutely loved everything. The only thing I ordered, that I did not find had a true home made feeling and taste was the corn appetizer ‘sorullitos’. Never did I ever see these growing up in Puerto Rico with cheese inside. I would not order again, if I can’t leave out the cheese off this equation… Thank you for great ‘Boricua’ home made food!🙏

Google
The food taste homemade, delicious. I had the chicken soup that has rice and lots of pieces of chicken. The lemonade was also fantastic. They serve you a large portion, so go hungry.

Google
There are not too many Puerto Rican choices around and this place used to be amazing, the quality has dropped for some reason but it's still not a bad choice. the service is very slow and there is often a wait, however the food is pretty good and they have a nice variety.

Yelp
Excellent as before it was remodeled. A more spacious and cozier ambiance. Same prices , extensive menu and excellent service . Patricia , Ileana and Jose took care of me on my visit on January 12th 2026. I personally have been waiting for almost 10 months to reopen and it's opened to the public now. Grand Opening next February 7th visit their website for more information. Original famous Chef " Tuti " cooking delicious Puertorican delight. It's worth to try their appetizers, food and desserts.

Yelp
There are good things about Isla del Encanto: the location is convenient, the vibe is welcoming, and the staff seems genuinely friendly. You get the sense they want you to have a good time. That said -- and this is where it gets honest -- some elements fall short: * The food, while serviceable, doesn't consistently hit. There were moments when dishes felt a bit generic or lacking flair. * Ambience is okay, but it doesn't quite live up to the "special occasion" standard it hints at. * For the price and what you expect from a place that presents itself well, you might leave thinking "alright, but I've had better." Bottom line: If you're looking for a comfortable evening out with solid service and you're not expecting the moon, this could work. But if you're after exceptional food and brilliance in every detail -- you might end up feeling slightly underwhelmed

Yelp
Great food but CLOSED inside. Eat outside or order out only! Looks like it's being renovated inside.

Yelp
Over priced puerto rican food. Served in a plastic container ,served also on a side walk from a food truck .Not a good value for the price. To say disappointing is an understatement. .

Yelp
The food is delicious, friendly staff always a delight to go there. Pick up order was very quick and simple. Great portions for a Christmas dinner that we had catered. From appetizers to entrees and the dessert. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
They are BACK after expansion. It's been a long wait for their great food, outstanding service and a family friendly atmosphere. We love this place!

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and intimate. Our server, Laura, was fantastic. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions about the menu with enthusiasm. Her service added a personal touch to our dining experience. We started with a mojito and a margarita, and for our meal, we ordered TriFongo, churrasco, and rice with shrimp. Each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and reasonably priced. Although the rice was a bit oversalted, the rice and shrimp dish was satisfying, with fresh and perfectly seasoned shrimp. Isla del Encanto offers a wonderful combination of delicious food and great service. I highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in Kendall.

Yelp
Food and ambiance super authentic! Always very friendly service. Food is amazing!! Haven't ate anything here that I didn't like a lot!! Chuletas are my all time favorite!!

Peggy M.

Yelp
So this restaurant is being remodeled but they are serving food on the outside tables. The food is delicious & the service makes up for the inconvenience. This gets 5 stars. I'm sure once remodeling is done it will get many 5 stars.

Yelp
We have eaten at Isla Del Encanto a handful of times since we moved here last year, and we even ordered their catering for Thanksgiving and New Years!! You could say we're obsessed, lol. My husband is Puerto Rican and really likes the food here (as do I, of course!) The food is great, and the service is fantastic. Everyone there is really friendly and welcoming. It's located in an unassuming location in a shopping plaza right off 120th, and it's somewhat small inside, but there are plenty of tables. It's so pretty and colorful inside with such a fun, vibrant atmosphere which makes it feel bigger, and they always have tables outside too. We randomly went one day around Christmastime and didn't realize they were having a big holiday "parranda" / party with live music and instruments. Even some of the guests brought their own tambourines and maracas! It was great. We've always lucked out with getting a table quickly, but you may have a small wait as there are always lots of people there. We have had a variety of their food. We almost always order mofongo (with shrimp, pork, or chicken). Mofongo is buttery, mashed plantains, that are seasoned and fried). We usually order sorullitos (fried corn cheese sticks, although I managed to not have pictures of that!). For our toddler we've had both grilled and breaded chicken. I also enjoyed the pastelon which is a "lasagna" of sweet plantains and ground beef). For catering we've had arroz con gandules (rice with green pigeon peas, as classic PR dish), mofongo stuffed turkey, Guineitos en Escabeche (boiled unripe bananas with pickled onions), flancocho (dessert), coquito (regular and pistachio), lechón (roasted pork), pasteles (a traditional Puerto Rican dish with meat wrapped in banana leaves and masa dough)!! I'm not sure if they sell pasteles all year or just for holiday catering, but we were able to buy a bunch that were frozen to boil at home. We consider this one of our regular places, and I highly recommend for eat in, take out, or catering!

Yelp
Ashley was amazing. Food was delicious! Will come again! great service. First time there

Yelp
Absolutely delicious PR food!! I moss Miami for this spot! Everything is fresh and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I am not a fan of Auto-gratuity/special tax added to my family of 8 (just 2 adults) but the food makes up for it, to-go for me only is fine. Anyways keep up the good work. Yum!

Yelp
We drove over an hour to come here just for it to be closed. Looks like it's Under construction. No where on their website or social media pages did it say it was closed.. never again

Yelp
Delicious! We went for my birthday and I am so, so glad we did. It's fairly close to my house since my Publix is in that shopping center and I always wanted to try it. It was nice to stray from wine or a cocktail, so I ordered the Sangria, which was the best Sangria I've ever had. To start we ordered the platter of appetizers "antogitos" and added the fried cod fritters. It is was plentiful for a party of 6 and we all were able to taste the different "picadera". I've had cod fritters before, but these were not balls, they were flat and chewy. Just thinking about them, I get a craving lol The entrees we ordered were mofongo with shrimp, mofongo with churrasco and shrimp, mofongo with a pork chop, and the mofongo with pork chunks. I had only eaten mofongo in Puerto Rico which I fell in love with and Isla del Encanto definitely rivaled it. It tasted so authentic. For dessert, we shared a flan, flan de coco and tembleque - did I say Delicious! What an end to a wonderful meal. I usually ask the names of the servers and busboys but I was enthralled with my meal and completely forgot. The service was great! It was a Tuesday since it was my actual birthdate and not too busy. However, they waited on us hand and foot - no complaints!

Yelp
Tasty food. Plenty of native dishes of the island and flavorful. Great service, location. Ideal for family and large groups. Live music on Fridays.

Hector G.

Yelp
This restaurant was very good with authentic flavor. But recently the missed the mark. The food was bland and not up to the standard. Their menu was given to me on a piece of paper and very limited. I was practically seated in the parking lot. Not sure what was going on. I drove over an hour to get there to taste the flavors of my island. Extremely disappointed.
google avatar

Valentina A.

Yelp
The ambience has remained top notch. The food is delicious and generously portioned. It is a bit sad that there are very few vegetarian/vegan options, but I made do. The service was impeccable. You must have the tembleque!

Wanda A.

Yelp
Love the choices and the atmosphere. I highly recommend it. You will love it too. The menu has all the things that make Puertorican food a delight.
google avatar

Aileen B.

Yelp
I ordered an octopus salad and tostones... they served the octopus on a huge bowl of plain lettuce and one slice of tomato with a few slivers of onion. Extremely underwhelming... no flavor at all. The 2 tostones were bland and soggy and to top it off, it was almost $30 I should've pick something else off the menu.

Yelp
I came here for dinner I had to wait because it was pack we had a party of 4. I say I waiting about 30 mins they were people waiting outside. I got there early around 615pm. My wait was OK because I was also waiting for my friends to arrive. They ask if you wanted something to drink any alcohol. This time I did not drink but my friend order a sangria. She said it was good. One of my friends had a soup with vegetables, Malaga, yuca, chicken the orange squash, corn. She said it was very good. Two of my friends had monfongo with pork chunks they said it was good. I had the pastelon I came with two sides arroz con gandules and tostones. It was really really good. Here is picture of my dish. I will definitely come back to this place. My food with tips it came to $ 19.99. The price was good they serve a lot too.

Yelp
We had a really enjoyable dinner at Isla Del Encanto. After having heard quite a few Puerto Rican friends mention this restaurant, we finally decided to give it a try- and we were so glad we did! The atmosphere was great, food was flavorful and service was really good. Highlights: -Bacalaito ( cod fritters) , these were superb! Light and crispy with a wonderful flavor, this is a must try. - Mofongo Chuleta Kan Kan, a HUGE portion of pork belly with crispy skin and delicious mofongo. If you like pork, you will love this. -Sancocho, a delicious soup filled with root vegetables, meat and spices. Comfort soup at its best. -Arroz con gandules, probably the best I've ever tried. All in all, we highly recommend this place. The staff were also all very nice and the vibe was relaxing but hip. We will be back very soon!

Hotrodrog H.

Yelp
The place is OK!! But extremely expensive for a hole in wall restaurant, 5 adults 1 kid, 220 dollars, we all got regular lunch menu, nothing special, I think I'm being generous with a 4 star rating! Not planning to go back!

Pamela R.

Yelp
If you know you know, the only Puerto Rican OG RESTAUTANT that is always a hit - we even order for family thanksgiving and family parties because it is THAT good - services is always amazing and the ambience is great as well!

Yelp
Large menu with a ton of authentic puerto rican plates. While we loved the authenticity, there were too many items on the menu (that, or the menu wasnt clear enough). I ordered the pastelon pinon and found it to be fantastic. The ground beef was marinated well and the fried plantains were juicy enough to make for a pleasant dish. It came with 2 sides so i got the arroz con gandules and the tostones. Both items were a bit on the drier side. I usually love tostones on their own and needed to use a bunch of mayoketchup (salsa rosada/ketchup and mayonnaise-based sauce) to spice it up. I recommend the shrimp mofongo appetizer over the crab (while both tasty, the flavorful tomato-based sauce was more apparent in the shrimp version). I recommend skipping the mofongo mariscos. It was very pricey and came as a "sampler platter" where each protein came in a separate bowl. The protein was great, but the mofongo was not stuffed ("relleno") like i prefer my mofongo to be. A pretty big let down for the price.

Maria R.

Yelp
Everything on the menu is awesome my personal favorite is the Asopao de Camarones and the Alcapurrias de Hueyes the service is awesome also
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
The food was spectacular...had chuletas with Arroz con gandules tostones y ensalada de aguacate ALL divine! One Tasty and fresh meal that hit the spot.

Yelp

I Recommend to all my Boricua's wanting a taste of home or to all those that would like to have a good Puerto Rican food experience.I wish they could open one in Vegas

Jess C.

Yelp
Great authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, picked up some take out and I ordered 'the Christmas plate' and it delivered just that, felt like I was eating a plate on Christmas Day with the fam.
google avatar

Yelp
Great PR food. Real PR food. Excelente service and great drinks. Come over and enjoy the real Puertorican food in Miami.
google avatar

Yelp
Just walking in and you are transported to the Isla! Love their food, music and ambiance Good service

Elisa M.

Yelp
Had lunch there today Though the staff and waiters were very helpful and Attentive the food lacked that Puerto Rican Sofrito to say that we ended up having to add sauce and salt to our rice says a lot considering it's supposed to be authentic Puerto Rican food. Definitely not going back.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Yes! I finally found Puerto Rican food that taste like my childhood home cooked meals. We ordered different dishes and shared it all. The food was great! The location was easy to find. The restaurant made you feel like you were home. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They deliver locally and have carry out. Customer service was also great and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be coming again.
google avatar

Lina P.

Yelp
I would of given a 5 star but given that it's a Puerto Rican restaurant the mofongo was not good it was hard. Besides that everything else was very good from the food to the service.
google avatar

Berta R.

Yelp
The food was OK. Nice menu authentic the service disappointing. They brought my dessert in a broken plate and when I pointed out to the server, she just responded that she knew the plate was broken. I have finished my lunch and I have to wait for a very long time for somebody to come out of the back to ask them for my bill. I live very far away and hat great Puerto Rican food on on restaurants nearby my home. I came in today as it was recommended. I think I will stay in my area.
google avatar

Rafael S.

Yelp
Good food and service but expensive for what you get; midweek lunch for two... No appetizer, Mavi, Yunque juice, Pastelon and Salmorejo with one Tembleque to share (not that good, we left it) was $53 plus Tip... Friendly folks though, but not worthwhile.
google avatar

Evelyne T.

Yelp
Authentic Puerto Rican food, very tasty! Also try their Sorullitos! You'll never go back to eating a regular Mozz stick again
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing. The service and food is awesome. I definitely come here every time I come to FL. Come to taste the food, experience the atmosphere, and leave wanting to return back. Awesome place!!

Mabel M.

Yelp
Not happy with at ALL ! Staple dish on their menu gone BAD !! Great location. Plenty of tables and spacious. Service wasn't bad. Meat had plenty of veins. Super hard to chew and cut. Rice was hard, dry and sticky. Tostones were the best item on the plate. Tossed it all out except the tostones with garlic sauce (that Thank God I requested). Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Andres T.

Yelp
The best puerto rican place at miami aunthentic puerto rican food just like home, mary and joemar very helpful and all the staff extramely friendly 100% i would recommend this place .

Yelp
Good place, good puertorrican food, great service . I can't tecomend one dish because everything is good and "mofongo relleno" with your favorite ingredients is great

Perfect The medalla was so icy cold it went down like malta Today was just so yummy!!!

Yelp
I got to say, I was pretty excited for trying this place. As a Puerto Rican that moved less than a year ago to Florida, I'm all about promoting places that remind me of home. I got to give it to them, the decoration was on point, and I felt close to home as soon as I walked in, from the walls, the tables and the decoration. Unfortunately, the food left a some to desire. We order a medalla and a passion fruit juice, which were pretty nice, as appetizers Alcapurrias which were good, but not worth the price for the size, and as main meal we both ordered mofongo, one with chicken and the other with beef steak. The mofongo unfortunately was pretty dry and crumbly. But what really was a disappointment was the service, our server only came to our table only to take our order of drinks and food and never came back, not even to bring the food. We didn't have the chance to order a second round of drinks, had to look for him for the check, and didn't even offered dessert, so we paid and left.

Yelp
Isla Del Encanto was a excellent choice for Saturday night dinner. The place caught my attention because It has a catchy name. We arrived at approximately 7pm and it was a full house. The wait time for a table was about 10 minutes. There wasn't much of a crowd waiting, but when we were seated things did pick up. The restaurant has a consistent flow of traffic entering and exiting the restaurant. upon being seated the server took a few minutes to arrive at the table but she was very nice and greeted us with water and offered recommendations for starters. we opted to order dinner entrees and skip the starters. the restaurant does bring fresh bread to the table which is a nice portion size and a bit filling. My entree choice and a meal fit for a king was the "chuleta kan kan" with a side of "arroz con gandules" . Man was it worth it. The chuleta was fried to perfection, not greasy, juicy and delicious. It was easy to cut and didn't need anything added to it. I usually add a little lime but it was so juicy and tasty it didn't need it. Highly recommend this dish. The rice was also well done. The overall experience at Isla was good. The service was fast and attentive. It has great decor thru out the restaurant and the owner was very pleasant while checking on his dinners. Great location for large groups and for a celebration.

Yelp
Wow! Im speechless!!! What an incredible experience me and my wife had. The minute we entered we were greeted with the most refreshing welcome. Service A+++, food was everything I imagined and more. Surpassed my expectations. Seriously, the flavor in that food is overwhelming (in a amazing way) your in a moment of mesmerization. WOWWWWW!!! Must try, best puerto rican food since i been to the island!!!
google avatar

Frankie O.

Yelp
It's Hard as an Executive Chef to go out and eat specially when it's food from your island. The only reason For the 2 stars is for the rice and beans. The white rice was good and seasoned and the red beans tasted like Puerto Rican beans. The beans had recao, and the flavor of the CULANTRO was perfect. Now la Chuleta Kan Kan, I am not sure if the oil was old or the had it to high and it burned, but the flavor of burned oil was on the chuleta. They also over cooked the chuleta I was tough. Also service this time was rough, you need to hire more people, been in the industry I know it's hard but it's affecting your service. To be honest I will give it another try because I know any one has a bad day.

Yelp
Well it took awhile for my return visit. I must say, another plus is the consistency of the food and service. The proprietor remembered us from our last visit so we were greeted with a big smile and handshake! The food was , once again, amazing! I felt like switching it up and stayed away from some of the usual fare. I had Filete de salmon con salsa de mango. What a treat! The fish was cooked perfectly so it did not dry out. The mango sauce was outrageously delicious! The only problem was there was not enough. Even if they gave me a pint jar of the stuff it would not have been enough! I loved it! Portion size was excellent as well. I can not get enough of this place. I will absolutely be bringing friends and family.
