Got my order messed because they’re so in a rush all the time…. I ordered crispy chicken strips and sweet potato fries… I got a dry chicken sandwich with nothing on it…. CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE…. I got home already and didn’t even call them because what would they do anyway? Sorry? I dot even know if this is of equal price…. This place use to be great… food taste fell off and service is bad now….

Macaroni salad with green peas is criminal. Please put relish and stop playing 😭 (some paprika goes a long way too)

This place used to be one of the better food establishments in Brooklyn. It has fallen way off. Service most notably fell off. The cashiers are a little rude. The food which used to be prepared fresh now tastes stale. Come on how are the fries gonna be stale?! SMH miss the old island burger.

I have been buying from Island Burger for 3 years now and it’s just getting worse and worse. Every time I say let me support my neighborhood black-owned restaurant I get disappointed. Usually, they use a white box this time everything was stuffed in this small brown box. Let’s talk about the burger patty that’s not 8oz as stated on the mention and is usually bigger and fuller they started giving low quality and mind you the price raised this is crazy, the fries are also hard. I’m done this is my last time I wasn’t going to do a review but I think it will help them after seeing better what they are serving because people are spending their coins they’re not begging. The customer service needs to work on they have been hiring young girls whose attitude is very nasty towards customers and they are not welcoming at all. Do better, please.

The worker Natalia was terrific she was very nice and got my order right! Highly recommended individual very courteous, wonderful customer service person. Made sure my order was on point and correct!

I ordered a chicken salad that was unfortunately only halfway filled with just lettuce and a few pieces of chicken at the top! I feel like for $16 dollars better could have been done.

I ordered a grilled chicken burger and a salmon burger. You’re probably asking…where’s the chicken? Exactly! There was so much bread and very little chicken. As for the salmon burger .. very salty! The fries was good though.

Food was great but poor customer service I waited 10 to 15 minutes before I was able to order and the young lady that took my order was a bit rude they were counting money while customers wait to order and continuously ignored me when asked if I could order

Haven't had this in ages but as a frequent customer I can honestly say it was the Best shrimp and fries you can get!! Especially with the tamarind sauce along with a few others that made this plate delicious!Happy eatings! Service is always quick and friendly. Although it gets very busy they are fast paced and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible!

I have supported Island Burger for nearly 10 years and today's experience was disappointing. To be transparent the restaurant was never big on customer service and usually has rude females on the register. This is from Utica and Church days and it's clear not much has changed. Imagine ordering for your mom and family on Mother's Day and the order that is prepared wrong is the one for your mom. Then the salad was not included in the bag! I ordered from Uber eats. The bag was stapled closed! I called immediately after delivery and was told to call on Wednesday because the restaurant was closing at 8pm. Drove there because it was only 7:02pm when I called. While en route I ordered two additional grilled shrimp and chips because I gave my order to my sister whose salad order was not included. I get to the restaurant and the representative at the register is telling me that the burger was probably wrong but she knows the salad was in the bag. I disagreed with her! She was wrong and I would like management to review the CCTV with her! Why would I pay over $100 for food, pay for the an uber driver, tip the driver. then drive all the way to the restaurant to argue about a salad!!!! Im annoyed even typing this. It's absurd!!! It gets worst. The employee is in the back cursing and being unprofessional explaining to a manager! She just cannot take the fact that she is wrong. Why is she even employed in a service position!? That js not her competency! Talk about unprofessional and unfortunate! I explain to a woman working there my concerns. I believe her name was Glenda. As we are talking I am presented with my new order, the shrimp and chips. I asked Glenda for sauces and the same unprofessional worker starts talking "it cost"! Why would you charge a customer who you already owe for the salad (pending whatever investigation they are conducting). The cameras will show no Salad ever placed in my order!!!!!!! I receive one brown bag with 4 staples in it! No salad! To make matters worse I opened the new order in the store and the shrimps are fried! Not only did I ask for grilled shrimp the person who took my order reiterated grilled shrimp twice!! For a place where workers are so adamant and condescending to have output that reveals mistake, after mistake, after mistake!! How is that competence! I just asked for a refund which will take days...... I just cannot in good faith support Island Burger anymore. To double down and triple down on poor service is just way too much for me. There are options! Never again!

Food is great.. But will not refer anyone bad attitude, poor customer service especially when I'm a big supporter of small business's I think they can d better when it comes to customer relation.

The food is great. The ppl are kind of rude. The older lady taking care of online orders seems so old school. I saw so many ppl Wait and their orders were ready in her face. I spent about 45 mins waiting on shark and salmon burgers!

Horrible taste and waste of $17 dollars. I paid extra for avocado and it was not in my bowel. I would like a refund. This was my first time at this establishment and it was horrible.

Very disgusting in this place Glenda has a very nasty attitude I order 3 plates of food and I only got enough sauce for 2 plates so I requested more sauce for another and she had a problem to give me more sauce she inspected the whole bag then realize I was right and gave me sauce for another plate upon pushing the paper bag back through the plastic window it was ripped upon leaving the store all my food splilled out on the floor I called them back and they said it's nothing they can do after I spent all the money on it

I've eaten here in the past except their closer to my home. Literally around the corner. There wasn't a long line when we arrived and service was pleasant. I didn't have to scream out my order as I did in their first location, due to the music. My order was ready in 15 mins. Yay! I ordered the signature island burger for my kids to share with fries and shrimp fried for me. I was more interested in the sauces - my favorite is the garlic sauce. They gave me 5 sauces and didn't ask for extra money like other places. The food was good and the fries were perfect. I love steak fries and they didn't disappoint. Everything was cooked well and more importantly the kids enjoyed it. I'll be back!

You will probably miss this place driving down Utica Ave because it's between an oil change service station and a car wash. The colors all seem to be the same on these business so it maybe something hard to catch with a glance. I order a veggie burger with the works and garlic sauce. A nice side of sweet potatoes fries and this meal was everything. The burger had pineapple, cucumbers and more. Very fun and tasty meal I'm think I'm hooked to now. I would recommend taking a moment to try a veggie burger. Whoa!

I must say the fried shrimp was so spectacular that I absolutely NEEDED more! I finished eating hours ago and I'm still dreaming about the next time I'm going to order it. The food also arrived surprisingly fast which is always a plus. We asked for extra garlic sauce for delivery and let me tell you they did not disappoint. The garlic sauce and shrimp combo was delish! This is the second time I've tried Island burger. The first time I tried the fried Tilapia and the second time I tried the fried chicken strips. I've come to the conclusion that the sauces are the reason why people keep going back to this place. I love the chadon Beni, garlic sauce, and tamarind sauce combined but when the food does not have these sauces on it, it's kind of bland. The service here is great and the staff are friendly. I may give their salmon burger a try in the future but this won't be my go to spot.

SMH Island Burger fell off bad. I've had them many times in the past but the last few times I keep regretting it and now I'm def not going to return. The fries were obviously fried in nasty old oil. The shrimp was skimpy. Just a waste of my money. Looks like they're trying to save as much money as possible because the tamarind and garlic sauce too watery now.

Island burger is my go to spot when I want some shark, or some Tamron sauce on my sweet potato fries. Their shrimp is amazing! I'd recommend that you try anything on the menu that suits your fancy. They let you have the ability to add sauces at the end as you would to a Subway sandwich you can add tamarind sauce, ketchup, garlic. It's a great place. I'd recommend calling ahead of time and just doing a pick up order because their parking lot only has about eight or nine spaces and is typically jampacked. It's a place where you want to get in get your stuff and get out. With all of that said I've since moved from the area and will still travel a solid 25 minutes to go get my stuff from Island Burger.

Sauce me up Island Burger, just sauce me up! I think I've tried everything on the menu. I especially love their fries and accompanying sauces (garlic, tamarind). The burgers are flavorful and the shrimp salad is filling and satisfying. New location ain't nothing, wherever you go i'll find you. Another establishment adhering to the mask wearing precautionary measures but at times too many people inside at one time. Still, one of my favourite fast food spots.

Island burger would receive 5 stars if it wasn't for their terrible customer service. The woman at the counter is so rude. I love to support black and Caribbean owned businesses, but they really need to do a better job at the quality in which they serve their customers. As far as the food, it was everything! I ordered the shrimp and fish combo. I would recommend getting the grilled shrimp instead of the fried shrimp. The flavor is way better.

I ordered every night for the last three nights. I loved it soo much. However, tonight, was the final straw! Horrible. I ordered the salmon burger and it was just terrible. The salmon was from a can - it was soggy and just filled with flour. Disgusting. The other two nights were great - the chicken wings are delicious and the shrimp is delicious. I was so disappointed.

So I placed an order at 7:46pm. I wrote a note to please add napkins and utensils cause we ordered there before and never get utensils or napkins. So after 1 hour of waiting for the order, they canceled it and when we tried to reorder again, we were blocked from ordering. This restaurant makes good food when they want to. I think it depends on who is in the kitchen. Food sweet potato fries and fish is often over cooked and burned to a crisp. Fries over cooked almost burned. Fish and shrimp over salted. Salmon burger taste good, but drowning in salt often times. The food has potential if they would prepare it right. It's hit or miss most times. When they first started food was excellent. Prepared and packaged in a cute box and brown paper bag. Now the container is plastic and smaller, food cost has gone up and they give you LESS food and the quality has gotten poor. Customer service at front of store has gone down hill. Young ladies at front are slow very rude, nobody greets you with a smile. Black community wants business, but we make it hard for people like me to be loyal when you get treated badly when visiting your restaurant. It's sad and really sucks. We Uber cause going in was too much to deal with. Now, we won't go to this Utica location or order via Uber anymore!!!

Stopped in here to grab a quick lunch one day that I was in the neighborhood and did a quick yelp search. It was pretty busy and my wait time was a little long, so I'd suggest calling ahead. The person behind the counter also forgot to notify me when my food was ready, so it was sitting there for a while and I finally went over to see what was taking so long and of course, my food had been sitting there waiting for me. I had the salmon burger with fries and it was pretty good. The bun seemed like a McDonald's burger bun, and wasn't very complimenting of the burger but thankfully the salmon burger had big flavor so it overpowered the blandness of that bun. The fries were ok, not amazing. They were garnished with parsley or something of that nature but they were still just ok. I've definitely had better fries. I think I'd come back one more time to try something else.

I thought I was going to become a regular here. While writing my first review I was waiting on a Salmon burger to be made. Ive never had a salmon burger before and the reviews for it made it seem like it was great choice, so I got it & it came with a side of food poisoning. THEY SOLD ME A ROTTEN SALMON BURGER. But before the food poisoning, I found a lovely long strip of plastic in my food after my 3rd bite. Good thing I chew my food thoroughly. I then spent the rest of my night ass to mouth over my toilet and sink (& what came up tasted so spoiled). I know it was Island Burger that caused my ailment bc I had my normal breakfast of tea and toast, snacked on my almond mix and came here for lunch/dinner after a long ass shift! I RARELY eat out -- and I was so excited to find a food spot that I actually liked. Now I just pass by here like they don't exist. I'd love to be reimbursed.

I really enjoyed my burger from island burger. One of the best burgers I've had. For my first time trying their food I'M going to give it 10/10. The sauces were to die for. I just wanna recognize this young Lady as well. I believe her name is Kerdisha. She handled us exceptionally well. Her customer service was wonderful. Next time we go on over , we're gonna tip her. Kerdisha is such a beautiful soul.

Their burgers are made to order with fresh and unique toppings and a boatload of fries. Sweet potato fries that is. The burger is thick and juicy and interestingly flavored with a Cajun old bay kick. I can dig it. The best part of this meal is that crazy garlic white sauce you hear people rave about. There is a reason and I am a believer as well. Tip: get all the burger trimmings on the side esp the wet ones ie coleslaw n pineapple if you are not immediately wolfing this bad boy down. Tip 2: get Extra Extra white sauce. The tamarind (Brown) is good too as is the green earthy watery one... but if they limit you- just ask for the Garlic sauce. Tip 3: eat the fries immediately. Duh

I walked into the restaurant and places my order at 7:27 pm. I watched people come in and out waiting for their order. After about 20 minutes I go to the window to ask about my order. She says it's coming. 20 minutes later my number is called. Its now 8:10pm and the girl behind the window says I can take a 2 dollar drink for the wait. I get home to realize the fries for 2 of my orders are missing. I attempt to call them to rectify this n all I'm getting is a busy signal. I called 10 times. I ordered, 2 orders of wings n chips, a shrimp n chips, n a burger n chips. Imagine waiting that long n still not getting your full order AND everything is cold. This is near my house but I simply won't be back. Not worth it.

I ordered the chicken tenders combo which was good except for the fact that the chicken was extremely crispy and difficult for my child to eat. I also ordered the salmon burger. Unfortunately they were out of cole slaw, but I can't fault them for that. I wish I ordered in person to have a heads up instead of online. Then I would've been able to make substitutions.

2 stars for only customer service. I got home with the food and it was terrible. I ordered the soy burger with everything on it and fries. There was no taste and the pineapples on it HAD TO BE FROM A CAN! It's been years since this place has been great. Oh and the coleslaw that comes on the side is really tasteless.

Horrible! There customer service is disgusting. They do not know the meaning of GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE PERIOD. The food isn't as good as it once was , due to them getting more customers they stop providing exceptional service. the food is decent, BUT my money is worth ME being treated good so that I can come back. If your in need of shrimp & chips it's pretty basic the sauces are what tastes the best. But anyway I won't be buying anything from this establishment ever again!!! I treated horribly and it's unacceptable.

Soo I decided to order because my friend swore by it! This is my second time ordering from there and honestly the food is great! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is that both times I got my food delivered to me, the food was like room temp/ borderline cold and also the customer service is hit or miss. One person I spoke to was super pleasant and accommodating and able to explain the diff toppings and sauces, etc and the other time not only was my order wrong but it was my first time ordering so I wasn't sure how to really navigate through how to mix n match all they had to offer . None the less both times the food was equally as tasty and flavorful. My boyfriend had heard so much about the shark burger so he got that which I tried and was yummy although I probably wouldn't order it again. I tried the chicken burger crispy with all toppings and all sauces and although a bit messy all the flavored just went amazing together. My mom had the salmon Burger which she loved and I tried the fish and shrimp which tasted fresh . My only qualm was that I got one fish and a bunch of shrimp I would have liked to have an even proportion. I will continue to order from them though . Be advised that if u want delivery make sure to call before 7 or 8 as they have limited delivery hours .

The food here was very good... I don't like saying this part but it's the truth, Island Burger runs on Island time. My friend brough me here because (poor child ) I was supposed to get impressed with Trini (style) food. Two points to consider when you're this thoughtful : 1. No one can make TRINI food like a real TRINI COOK can. 2. I'm here in this nation to appreciate other cultures, I get enough of my own whenever I want. The thought was still sweet. It's a small space on Utica off Church Ave. The food is cooked to order so it my make sense to call ahead. We paid $9.50 each for two meals. One beef rib and the other baby back. They both came with a side. They offer the usual sides such as potato, macaroni, fresh salad etc. I think that price was pretty decent, considering we got enough food to feed an army or two AND the food tasted sooooo good! It didn't taste like Trini food but was really tasty all the same. The service wasn't 100%, it wasn't even a close 65% and they operate with the attitude that "we food good so people go come an' buy regardless ah if we service good or bad" typed with a Trini vernacular pardon me. Apparently their borderline arrogance works because they seem to be doing good business. And I hang my head when I say If I'm in the area I'll purchase from them again. Like I said the food was tasty! I also like that I can see my food being prepared. I won't go out of my way to come here though. And I'll keep looking for alternatives if I'm around this side of town. But still Island Burger, tasty food and lackluster service is like a good looking, fit body dumb arse man. Only good for a hookup. No meaningful relationship wanted with him/ them. Plus Island Burger? what about the folks who have been completely turned off and away and aren't even interested in the occasional hookup, in giving you another chance?What about them? Can't say I was impressed by much as this was my first time getting food from here. It was too crowded so I gave my friend my order (fish & grilled shrimp) and waited outside. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our food. I try to be understanding during these times as many restaurants are understaffed and overwhelmed but the service could have been better from what I witnessed.

I have never been inclined to write a bad review about any place of business but this was totally out of line! I ordered a turkey burger through Uber eats and this mess of a burger was what I received not only did it smell sour but the pink mushy inside even stained the inside of the bun pink...I've never in my life seen such neglect or care in food. You could literally peel the rubbery skin off of whatever was uncooked and spiked inside

The service was horrible I was on hold for 10mins when I arrived I called again as I was waiting on the line and still waited another 10mins until I was next inline and then explained to the cashier that she has me on hold for the past 10mins and she didn't care. The customer service is horrible and the level of respect for their customers doesn't exist... Do not go choose another restaurant where the establishment actually acknowledges there customers... the 1 Star is to nice I was trying to give half a star JaySpeed

I will never order at this establishment again and it's only because of customer service something that the managers should take into consideration several times I walked in to pick up an order and on both occasions the employees pretended they did not hear me. Today the same experience called excuse me to the two ladies attending to customers and they both ignored me.. Kindness and friendliness goes along way all they had to do was say was give them a moment they will get to my inquiry shortly. it was such a turn off and I will never order there again.....

I'm going to start with what I ordered. My boyfriend wanted the bbq wings and steak fries. I ordered the island burger with coleslaw and a pineapple on it. Food came rather quick. My boyfriends food was okay he enjoyed. My burger didn't come with coleslaw. No type of notification, and it was raw! Burger was not cooked all the way through at all. It doesn't even look like they kept it on the grill for 15 minutes. I broke the burger apart to look at it. Nope not done at all and not to mention when I called to tell them about their mistake no apology, or resolution for the discrepancy . I would never order from this establishment. I left a picture of just how uncooked their burger was. Please inform your chefs on how to cook a burger through.

Frequent customer of this location. Love the food as it's always fresh + tasty and I'd be lying if I said I didn't say the sauces are what I all love the most! Location needs more consistency with some areas. Service: I've waited anywhere from 10-35 mins for my order. There's been a few of times where my order has been skipped or messed up (but eventually remedied) Food: inconsistency with the chefs or deep fryer. Fried food at times either perfect or overcooked. If ordering, get sauces on the side. Food will arrive soggy if the sauce is put on food. Recommendation: * Offer sauce station or have back stock of packaged sauces to remedy long wait times from staff dressing food. See you guys soon!

I ordered the shrimp and chips and the cashier automatically added a 20% tip. I went into the store and ordered, once I noticed the difference in prices immediately informed the heavy set cashier about my concern instead of her being apologetic she was rude and had an annoyed tone. Its unfortunate because it's seeming more and more good customer service is dwindling away. On a good note the older lady behind the glass window packing the pre order foods was sweet giving this location a two star.

Great food but their method of payment options are limited. They only accept credit cards and debit cards with chips and cash. They have no ATM at this location leaving customers to search for atm at near by establishment to withdrawal cash.Good business environment but can better the customers experience morale by adding an ATM. This inconvenience may result in customers going elsewhere, as in my case.

I've eaten twice from here on the Utica Ave restaurant. The first time I ordered over the phone and picked up and the second time i walked in and waited. So far my experience for others is to have it called in. Took a while for them to make one sandwich and for some reason they were calling people who ordered after me for pick up. The food isn't too bad. I loved the crispy chicken burger and garlic sauce. The shark burger was a bit too salty for me. All in all food was good and the place was clean.

I'm not from NY but heard lots and lots of great things about Island burger. Let me just say it was late and they still took my order even though they were closing in an hour. I got the island burger and wings. The burger was super flavorful and garlic sauce is the BOSS. The wings were amazing! Probably the best I've had in NY. Definitely will visit again next time in NY. Please consider bringing Island Burger to Texas !

So... let me just start off I came all the way from LONG island from a long day's work for this! And I live in Queens. Now about a day ago my sister had stop off at one of their locations and tried their food for the first time. She loved it so much but had to share the experience she left some fries back for us that were drenched with all the sweetness of sauces for us to taste. Hence why I journeyed all the way to Brooklyn today. Now as I walked in it's a little smaller than expected but hey it's brooklyn. You get to add sauces after which makes the process much quicker. I made Convo with the cashier because it looked like she was tired. Nice girl but like many of the other reviews, customer service can be something they work on. It seemed like someone was in between shifts. The one who was administering the sauces and she seemed to go past my large order for the smaller ones. But the lady who came in who had on the Baja flag props to her she came in with a smile apologized to the customers who were waiting and did her thing. Now for the older heads there was a place called super wings owned by a trini... it was like the lit place because it was something different by it went thru because you weren't paying for quality or quantity Anymore. But you are full after you have your food! The only thing is the salmon burger it seems like it's grounded into a burger. I'm just skeptical about things like that because you never truly know what you can be eating unlike when you have a fillet salmon burger. Ofc hands down the food is good. It's a lovely taste of home away from home. Plus I LOVE STREEET FOOD in TRINIDAD so this is just a dream come true. Multiple options for the meat eaters, pesceterians and vegetarians. Now you know Alya trinis know the sauces should be out for we to put it on ourselves but it's cool... they drench it for you

My first island burger experience I had the salmon burger and fries it was great eating it hours after I purchased it . I ordered it recently for my fiancé and I we both agreed the burger was very salty! Not enjoyable. The sweet potato fries were good.

I had the 8 oz beef burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. I dressed it with ketchup and garlic sauce. I had fries on the side. The burger was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My only criticism was the long wait time. The cashier told me it would be a 10 minute wait for the food, but I ended up waiting approximately 40 minutes.
