"Slip right into the Keys groove with a tiki drink and appetizers like mango crabcakes, shrimp ceviche, and smoked fish dip. The menu is massive and accommodating to everyone, whether you want seafood, steaks, pasta, chicken, or a vegetable burger. Like most spots, Key lime pie is on the menu, but the deep-fried rendition is more intriguing, which is rolled in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with mango sauce." - Alona Martinez

The place was jumping on a Wednesday night for dinner. We were lucky and were able to sit outside close to the water. It was warm, but we soaked up the sun. The food was excellent. We had oysters, fresh catch of the day, and chicken. Everything was served hot, presented well, and most importantly very tasty! There was plenty of parking and it was easily accessible off of highway 1. This is a great place to catch the sunset.

We were charging our Tesla on Marathon and had no clue where to eat. My wife Lisa picked this place and it was a great choice! Service was friendly and incredibly fast. Food was fantastic . View of the ocean was so cool.

Google
Food here was amazing and very filling. The atmosphere was fun with cool license plates hanging everywhere. The waitstaff were very busy, but also very attentive. My cup of water was constantly being refilled. What was also cool was being able to walk out of the restaurant and feel fish near the pelicans. It was such a cool experience and I loved being so close to these birds.

From start to finish our dining experiences were fabulous! When entering the hostess was always so friendly and always did her best to seat us where we wanted to be…the tables with the best views! The food was delicious, the service was top of the line, friendly, efficient and helpful! We went back 5 times within the month we were here! Yes, we were happy each and every visit!

Our server was Raymond. He was absolutely fantastic. Attentive, friendly, personable, and had that fun waterside seafood personality. We had a 5 star experience, but if I could give it 7 stars I would because of his service. Definitely a keeper. We had the lobster and shrimp egg rolls and the conch fritters. Both were delicious and WELL worth ordering. I then had the shrimp po boy which was delicious. My wife had the blackened grouper sandwich and loved it. The location is beautiful and we got to see the sunset from our table. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean! This place is just fantastic. Our only con is that we found it on the last day of our 7 day stay in Marathon. Don't be like us, try this place on day one!

Google
Packed. Three of us sat at the bar across from two chain smokers. One after another. Too bad as the pesto Snapper, fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, and mahi entrees were great. But better keep locals happy drinking cheap beer with their cigarettes.

Google
I loved this restaurant!!!! Great service, great views, great food, fun atmosphere!! Our waiter was quick, personable and had a fun personality. The chonch fritters were amazing. I couldn't decide which sauce I preferred! Both were amazing. I also ordered the Baha fish tacos....which were made to perfection!! My husband had the grouper sandwich which her said was also wonderful. We watched the sunset as we waited for our table.bitbwas a great romantic evening that ended with great food in our belly!

Came for dinner on a Saturday. There wasn't that bad of a wait, and they were pretty busy. The food came out extremely fast, but everything tasted great! Was recommended the fried keylime pie and it was delicious

Yelp
First time checking out this restaurant. Honestly, our server Louis saved this review from being a 1! Started at the bar, but they allow smoking so we decided to get a table. We were seated immediately, but were not waited on in a timely manner. The manger and a team of staff were at the host stand while we waited for service. In fact, they were even playing with a remote control car. Once the manager saw us, she approached and I shared my displeasure with the timeliness of service, particularly while there clearly were plenty of staff who were available. Louis came to our rescue and he is an AMAZING server! We ended up enjoying a great dinner. Husband had the burger, and I had the blackened mahi. Both were cooked perfectly! We also enjoyed a dozen raw oysters.

Corey C.

Yelp
Service great, very organized, and surprising how many tables they can manage. Nice view outside as well but I dont review on the view. Drinks excellent, appetizers good although Fried calamari on menu states (thats how i interpreted) the peppers are dusted and fried with calamari, but they were just pickled banana peppers tossed on top and kind of made dish soggy, still ok though. Stuffed oysters good but not sure if they used frozen oysters as cool inside and still stuck to shell but flavor good on spinach and baked bbq. Id ask server next time if frozen or fresh. Cesar salad out of this world and entrees all great with exception of Blackened Mahi Sandwich, kind of bland and thin piece of fish, pretty dry. Overall definitely go here, just stick with entrees as sandwich was eh, and ask server about any menu options for Apps. Enjoy!!!

Kurt G.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here last night. She got ill after the cream of broccoli soup which seemed to be a clam chowder not a broccoli soup The food was eh and so far the worst Meal I have had in the keys

Camryn M.

Yelp
Ordered takeout here and everything was delicious! The conch fritters were full of conch, lobster roll was overstuffed with lobster and the tuna was so fresh! Will be back!!

San B.

Yelp
Tiffany was a great server. Food was delicious and you can't beat the views sitting by the water. Comfortable seating and great service

Sumita B.

Yelp
Nice open restaurant in Marathon w marina views. There is a mini gift shop with shirts, toys, mugs and etc. Raw oysters - 1 dz -- would order again Lobster roll w fries - would order again Oysters Rockefeller - kind of too cheesy, probably wouldn't order again

Mike E.

Yelp
Went with friends down to escape the winter . Started with a frozen rum runner , one of the worst drinks we've had in a long time , tasted medicinal. I'd stay away from their frozen concoctions. The margaritas however are pretty good , decent beer selection. The conch fritters were excellent and the fish dip good but I'd suggest some crudite along with the crackers . The whole fried snapper was good though over cooked , almost charred to inedible in a couple areas and could use some seasoning. The shrimp linguine was the winner though lacking a flavor punch . There's just too many good seafood spots to want to go here again , this will be a once and done

Beth T.

Yelp
Clean covered patio dining with a spectacular view of the gulf. We had dinner our first night in Marathon and breakfast the n cut day. The food was well prepared and delicious. The staff was professional and friendly.

Yelp
We were spending a week at Hawks Cay hosting our kids and grandkids and the hubby remembered this place from many visits to Hawks Cay years ago. We decided to try it one night during our visit and went early as our granddaughter is young and long dinner waits/times don't work that great. They do not take reservations. We were able to get seated right away for a party of 8 and Adderly was greeting us within 5 minutes. All that was awesome. What I had forgotten is this place has no central A/C and it's July in the Keys. Sweltering! We were all freaking out a bit but agreed to make the best of it. We started with appetizers of conch fritters, buffalo shrimp and fish dip. All were good based on the parties feedback. For entrees, we had the grouper special served both as a sandwich and a plate, the captains platter, the fish and chips, the shrimp p'boy and a mahi sandwich. All were really good. The only complaint I have is the grouper dinner is $20 more than the sandwich and I didn't care for the bland rice or veggies. I should have just done the sandwich. The piece of fish is the same for both. I forgot to take photos of the appetizers but the photos of the entrees are here. It's on the water and the concept and food are very good, but keep in mind there are no reservations, no air conditioning, and wait times can be long. However, fresh locally caught seafood and a good vibe.

Jaquie M.

Yelp
Dan was friendly while I sat at the bar. I was hoping the oysters were better though. The spinach one was soupy and overly cheesy almost like the cheese that covers the top of a French onion soup. The Key lime one was a bit better - dryer but the oysters were tiny. 1/6 was a good size. Not very good odds. Check was $22. Parking was challenging with the tide so close to the parking lot. Bathrooms were clean and fully stocked.

Katie A.

Yelp
While visiting, we stopped into this restaurant. It was very busy at dinner time; however, we were quickly able to be seated and provided good service throughout. The vibe was pleasant, and the food was also good. I had a seafood pasta dish that was very fresh and creamy. We also tried their delicious appetizers. With the location right on the water, this is a nice spot to visit for dinner.

Aileen Q.

Yelp
Going to the Keys I really wanted conch fritters and The Island Fish went beyond my expectations. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the conch fritters, the grouper and fries platter, and a California chicken sandwich. So delicious. Our waitress was also very attentive and fast. The location is right on the water where you can witness a beautiful sunset.

Dawn M.

Yelp
I've been here many times in the past and had great experiences. This year was horrible! The food was mediocre at best and our waiter was not friendly at all. The only time he smiled was when he smirked at me after I placed my order. If I am going to spend well over a hundred dollars for dinner for me and my daughter, I expect to enjoy it. The view was only positive!

Reta B.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here to eat while on our way back from the keys. This is a really big place with a water view so it was nice but would have been better if we came earlier. Service was outstanding! Our server was super nice! She brought food quick and was able to take our order, drinks and everything super quick. Their soup was good. I had their fish tacos which were good, their oysters were amazing and prices were great except for the lobster sandwich which was ridiculously expensive and they didn't have the price for it in the menu. That I did not like! Everything else was great, plenty of parking space

Michael M.

Yelp
OH MAN! Pull over now! This place looked suspicious and touristy, which I am not. But we gave it a try and were not disappointed at all. The drinks were spectacular. The appetizers (conch fritters) were amazing. We got a third lunch for the two of us because it was so good. We had so many servers attending to us, we felt like we were royalty. Awesome stop.

Denise C.

Yelp
This spot is a MUST whenever we come visit the keys. We usually dine in for breakfast or dinner since the food and service are always good. We stopped in for breakfast over Thanksgiving week and were happy with our experience. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which are flour tortillas topped with Monterrey Jack & Cheddar cheeses, refried beans, sunny-side up eggs, and sprinkled with cilantro (served alongside homemade salsa & tomatillo sauce). Needless to say, this is my new go-to when eating here. Everything was delicious. We also ordered some pancakes as a little sweet treat, which were perfectly fluffy and flavorful. Stop by if you are ever in the area! You will not regret it!

JoJo E.

Yelp
Great place with marina views and great food and service. Had delicious fish and their baked oysters were terrific. I didn't care for the fact that I could smell the smokers standing right outside the bar area and the breezes brought their stench inside. Ugh. Our server was such a delightful lady from Guatemala who was a bustling little bee!! I enjoyed our lunch.

kristy c.

Yelp
We came here on a recommendation by the staff at the Jolly Rodger. We did a chonch fritter tour of the Keys and had tried all the best places in Key West. After trying the chonch fritters here, they they took the top spot. The lobster egg rolls and shrimp poboys were also delish. They have this hot sauce we had to take home.

Claire S.

Yelp
This was the best place we dined while staying in Marathon. The atmosphere is laid back, and they have a few TVs for watching football. On a Saturday night, there was a 20 minute wait for a table for 6. Fortunately, the bartenders were attentive and friendly while we waited for our table to be ready. We enjoyed the conch fritters appetizer, and my Grouper sandwich was great. We also saw a manatee from our table! I would definitely return if I was in the area.

Teresa W.

Yelp
We were staying in Marathon and wanted a restaurant where we could dine while watching the Sunset. We arrived about 15 minutes before sunset and managed to get a seat right on the water. The view is ok, not unobstructed but beautiful nonetheless. Service was great! Our server came over right away and was attentive. We were given a bread basket and I liked that they put the butter under the warm bread so it was soft and easy to spread. The bread was tasty and fresh. Hubby ordered the filet with a Caesar salad. He's not a seafood person. The Caesar was a good size and tasty. The filet was just ok. It needed more seasoning and maybe some sauce. But, it's a seafood place so I'll cut them some slack. One of the potatoes was rotten too, which I can't believe made it out. We did throw it to the fish so that was fun to watch. My stuffed shrimp was good. The sides were just ok. Not much flavor with the rice and beans. The broccoli was cooked good. The prices were kinda high for the quality overall. But the place itself is nice right on the water.

Raquel P.

Yelp
Stay away ! Very windy inside the restaurant. The food absolutely horrible. The chef needs to look up recipes for ingredients and instructions on how to cook. The crackers were stale. The oysters Rockefeller were a joke basically spinach and cheese on the oyster overcooked and the worst. The She Krab Soup was disastrous. A shame for a Keys restaurant to use fake crab and the soup was 90% raw onion inside. OMG never have had something worst. The New England Lobster Roll (HAHAHAHA) really not funny at $36.95 ! Bread smaller than a hot dog bread and the lobster only the tips of the claws and tasting old and dry. The french fries that come with the dish are from frozen and they were also stale and cold. What a horrible expensive experience. This place should close because it caters to tourists passing by for a Keys experience never to return for sure !!

Nicholas D.

Yelp
GET THE MOSCOW OYSTERS!!!!!! We have dined and drank at almost every spot in Marathon, we come here often. They do everything well. Consistent and delicious. Great bartenders, good selection of drinks, and great seafood.

Michelle J.

Yelp
Worst service EVER!! Should have known when we weren't greeted by hostess. Sat by the water and there is a HUGE sign saying not to feed the birds! Lady behind us kept throwing food out to the water! It splashed up bc she was throwing big hunks of food! Our waiter was a tall guy with a small pony tail. He was RUDE AF! Didn't tell us his name, say hello or anything!! Just asked what we wanted. I asked a question about the fish and he was so annoyed and grabbed the menu out of my hands!!! Food was just ok. Too salty. After our food was brought out, we didn't see our waiter again until he brought the bill. No drink refills, didn't ask if we wanted dessert. I wanted to try the fried key lime pie, but I was ready to LEAVE ASAP! The next night we tried Sunset Grille and omg! HUGE IMPROVEMENT!

Michaela W.

Yelp
The food was fine, but we won't be returning. Started with oysters, which weren't separated from the shell. Also had a ceasar salad that was warm. Had to ask twice for my drink. We sat inside and found the place to be noisy. My dinner was the stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was nice and buttery, but the crabcake stuffing was a bit like stovetop stuffing, only mushier. I had the mustard sauce on the side, and glad I did. It was too tangy and didn't match the crab. Side vegetables were broccoli and cauliflower, which were bitter and cold. My side of plantains was the star of the night-golden, crispy, sweet, a bit tangy, and juicy. Husband's Mahi was okay, but nothing special. The filet was cut too thick, so it was pretty well overcooked. Side of rice was similar to what you'd get at Long John Silver's.

Tee Dub S.

Yelp
Great food selection Decent service Coconut shrimp was disappointing Awesome scenic views

Lou T.

Yelp
Went here by boat for lunch. Service was excellent and all the food was very good. Finding good and consistent food in Marathon is a challenge and Island Fish has been very good every time. The dock side dining option is a big plus too.

Amanda S.

Yelp
A great place to dine in Marathon! My husband and I had dinner here with our 10 month old and had a great dinner with a spectacular view of the sunset on the water! The parking lot is a bit crowded and note that they do not take reservations. We arrived at 5:45 on a Monday night and we're able to be seated within 10 minutes. Once we were seated and given the menu to review we saw there were a ton of options that all sounded delicious. I had the mahi mahi sandwich with a side of plantains and it was very tasty. We wished we had room for dessert!

Brett L.

Yelp
If you are heading from Key Largo to Key West, this is a great place to grab a great meal. The setting here is very Island casual. You can see the water from just about any table in the place. The service is very good and appropriately attentive. We wanted to save room for dinner when we finished our trip to Key West. So we decided to share the shrimp quesadilla. The flavor was delicious with a capital "D". The side of plantains were perfectly crispy on the outside with a steaming hot tender center. This is a good choice heading into or out of Key West. I'd definitely stop here again.

Sandy S.

Yelp
Vegans and vegetarians, you're covered here between menu modifications and the veggie burger. I got the veggie burger. It was good. Not house made but also, better than most. (Anyone else sad at Beyond and Impossible burgers taking over the handmade? If you don't eat meat, you probs don't want your burger to taste like meat). My husband got the grilled chicken sandwich. And enjoyed that. I had the veggie burger and we split onion rings.

Sandra J.

Yelp
So much to say...phenomenal raw oysters, the shrimp yummy, the ceviche, the conch fritters... all the seafood we had tried in multiple occasion are fabulous

Bethany D.

Yelp
Update to our review. Visited 12/30/23 w/ a party of 7. All entrees delivered but the kid's cheeseburger meal. When we asked when it was coming - the waiter seemed perplexed (almost as if he forgot to put it in). Checked in w kitchen and told is it was delivered to another table and ours will be next. Waited 15 mins for the meal - and the rest of our party was already done eating. Waiter tried to be nice by giving our 12 year old a cup of clam chowder which was a nice gesture (but clam chowder not a common item for a 12-year-old). Half our party had to leave, so my husband stayed w her while she finished eating. No compensation was given - which would have been less than $10 for the gesture. Left a bad taste ....

Mariela R.

Yelp
Ambience good. Service good. Food mediocre. Fish dip very good but could use better presentation. Shrimp tacos Just okay, lack flavor Lobster/shrimp egg rolls , greasy and also lack flavor.

Mark N.

Yelp
Always a fan favorite! We stop and get frozen rum runners as soon as we get into town. We have a lot of items on the menu that we enjoy!

Heidi F.

Yelp
The Island Fish Co is a huge restaurant with a great view. We got there on a Friday night around 5:30 and the wait was about 20-30 min. Not bad! While we waited we got drinks and watched the sun set in the marina. Our server was amazing and the food was good. We got the smoked fish dip for an app, the captains platter and shrimp tacos for dinner. Everything was good. We weren't blown away with flavor but it was a nice evening. We would go again for sure.

Olia G.

Yelp
Delicious! Crab dip and oysters Rockefeller were our fav. Please kelp in mind that portions are huge. We got also shrimp tacos but they were too big and not saucy so I wouldn't recommend. Otherwise, amazing place with tables by the water

Fahim R.

Yelp
Came here with the family while on vacation. Good service, good food, good portions, and a really nice view of the water. The menu is very extensive, and they also have a good kids menu. Prices were very reasonable as well. I had the grouper, which also came with bread, soup/salad, and 2 sides. The restaurant gets big crowds, but it's huge.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
We stopped at the island fish after a day hanging out at the beach. It was Thanksgiving night for a late feast. We had to wait and went to the bar for some drinks. They had a large menu of options to choose from. The restrooms are easy to miss. I ended up behind the building. Do better than I did locating them. Inside is the bar area where their is plenty of spots to sit at the bar and around. The dinner was good. Prompt service. Parking is much more difficult to find. It goes out so far and then you're dead in the water literally.

Yvette M.

Yelp
We've been coming down to the keys since I could remember...and visiting Island Fish Co. For the last several years. They work hard to please and are always looking for new ways to drum up excitement. It's right on the water and there's hardly a bad seat in the house! We love getting their piña coladas with a dark rum floater in the souvenir cup...worth the extra charge to take home this hearty plastic cup so you can sip a bit of nostalgia every time you use it! They make a mean bowl of crab soup, a great blackened grouper and our kiddo is always pleased with a meal served on a frisbee! Lastly, they have upped their game with some amazing T-shirts with some pithy statements... my personal favorite is this around a stellar drawing of a hammerhead shark: "A gentleman never gets drunk...he gets hammered!" Island Fish Co.

Ashley B.

Yelp
Location, service, and food all get 4 stars. There's a lot to pick from the menu and it's all the island favorites. I feel this place is grate for both locals and tourists. Come visit Slash the big iguana and get some coconut shrimp Our waiter was so friendly and really on it. They are also food modification friendly so don't be afraid to ask, the chefs are great. We substituted pasta for potatoes in the shrimp scampi and I have to say, it turned out so good they should offer it on the menu. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get, which is always important. I do find the marathon location has the best quality with everything, and it is the prettiest location compared to Hollywood and islandmorada. If you're in vacation and want an early dinner while the sun is still up come and ask for a water view, it's the best way to eat

Mrs L.

Yelp
Breakfast lunch & dinner the food was quality, not overpriced, worth the stop, plenty of off street parking, a spot to tie up your boat, a water view, nice cool tiki hut, small shirt / hat shop, great friendly service!

Kayla C.

Yelp
Service was ok but could have been better the ambiance was ok and the food was overpriced and frankly not that great

Kay S.

Yelp
My husband doesn't like to drink out of plastic. He asked waiter for a glass for his water and waiter refused saying they didn't have enough glasses. Place was only 1/4 full. Food was but nothing special.

Shannon H.

Yelp
Lived up to the reviews! We tried getting into this place around dinner time earlier in our vacation week, but it was packed with a long wait. Luckily, we were able to get in later in the week no problem for a late dinner (around 8pm). On the one hand, I was excited because of the good reviews, but also a little skeptical because it was clearly packed with tourists which sometimes hurts quality. Not the case here! I had the Mahi tacos and my husband had the grouper sandwich. We also had several mojitos and finished off with the key lime pie. Everything was really good! Lovely ambiance sitting by the canal where we watched fish swimming by. The key lime pie was the best I had on our trip to the Keys (and I'm pretty sure I tried a different version each day ). They gave us a huge piece of pie and the crumbly graham cracker crust was delectable. Service was excellent. Overall, very happy with our visit to the Island Fish!

Naree R.

Yelp
Fat juicy conch! And the food s are fresh from the ocean. Trust me the drinks are fantastic!

Dawn W.

Yelp
As a huge fan of coconut, I was extremely disappointed in my coconut fried lobster sandwich. I was torn between several things, but our server said it would be like coconut shrimp...it was nothing like it. I personally thought there was too much crust given that there was absolutely no coconut flavor. Perhaps it was just overcooked and it burned off coconut. It had lettuce, diced tomatoes, and banana peppers on it (the peppers were not listed on the menu, but I love them) and a slight squeeze of remoulade sauce. It was very dry eating it, so I asked for more sauce and skipped the bread. I would not order again. The fries were nice; I think they are batter coated and the cole slaw was great. My husband had the pan seared mahi mahi and said it was very fresh and delicious. The place is cute and is probably great during the day being right on the water. I would try it again with one of my other choices.

Jose R.

Yelp
So today was a fishing day, and we ran out bait. Going to Marathon, this place caught my eye, and we decided to give it a try. The venue was busy, and we were able to get a table right away. However, I was not even greeted by the hostess. The server took a minute to get to us. However, he never considered asking if we had been there before or needed help with the menu. We didn't want to take long eating, and we decided only to order mostly appetizers. I want to say that the reason I gave this place a three start is because of the initial contact, which is the face of the business and the fact that our server wasn't there much to which I had to ask a other server for assistance. Definitely, the kitchen was on point with putting our dishes right away. So Kudos to them. But two dishes, the Oyster Rockefellers and the conch soup. Both items need to be a little bit warmer. Additionally, the soup needs more taste and spice. The other dishes were proportionally and tasted good. The venue's view is great, so make sure you sit by the water and enjoy the Florida Key's weather.

Ed C.

Yelp
You remember when a happy hour included a discounted price on beer? Well, in July of 2023, that was the case. Tonight, 11/20/2023, we paid regular price for the beer we purchased between 15:00-17:00, which is advertised as the happy hour. Bull$hit!!! We probably won't ever be back here now.

Chris B.

Yelp
Great location on the water. Nice atmosphere all around. Food was good. My only issue was the service with an attitude. Our waitress (Ashley L) may have been having an off night but the attitude was a bit much. Our order was messed up, which was no big deal, but the attitude from Ashley was uncalled for. We were not complaining, we did not require much attention, but the attitude was not necessary. Hope fully she has better days in the future.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Had to Yelp the best place to go for view and a pina colada and this did not disappoint! The Seared Ahi Tuna Carpaccio was the most unique salad I've ever had, highly highly recommend. My pina colada was slightly above average, not the best certainly not the worst my preference is more creamy this wasn't icy just not as creamy as I like but I would order it again. Visit the parking lot and check out the 20 yr old iguana and walk to the end for a great photo on the helicopter pad The service was good, our server was attentive.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Came here for dinner one night while in the Keys. When the food arrived I was a little underwhelmed with the presentation but once I took a bite I was quite happy. Everything was delish except for the coleslaw. We probably would have come back here another time or two but with no AC and how hot it was we seeked dinner elsewhere! In the cooler months, we would absolutely come back!
