I ordered a chicken burrito and steak quesadilla, total was $15. For that money it's hard to complain but the food was very disappointing and I didn't finish the burrito. Steak Quesadilla: When they gave me the bag i had to double check that they gave me the quesadilla because it was pretty small. Id rather pay another $3-4 for a regular sized one. The steak was rubbery but salty so it was fine. Chicken Burrito: First, when i opened it see the picture, they almost wrapped an open burrito. The chicken was hard and rubbery, like the steak but even the steak wasn't as hard as the pieces of chicken, it was almost like eating beef jerky. The guacamole was in one glob in one part of the burrito. Maybe their tacos or sides are better but I don't think I'll be going back to find out. I'm surprised, maybe there was a mistake or something but for the reviews this restaurant has I expected better. The location is pretty nice, its on the corner of a local road in West Babylon which is a bit away from the chaos of the Deer Park/North Babylon/Wyandanch area.

Island Grill food is tasty however if you order from here and don’t mind Being ripped off money go right ahead. I am done with this place. The prices are expensive for what you actually get Every time I went there they would charge me a higher price than what it should be…..it never added up. They were always ripping you off money whether it be $.50 or a dollar. I am never returning again. I am tired of being ripped off from them. When you ask for salsa or sour cream, it’s barely a half a teaspoon in the little Plastic container. I ordered a combination platter and it was 95% rice. So I paid $10 for a bowl of rice With practically nothing else in it. So like I said, the flavor is good but you don’t get what you’re paying for…. if it’s worth it for you go…it’s not worth it for me

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember…. Place has been here since I’m a kid. Nice people. Steak quesadilla is my favorite. Needs to add a couple dipping sauces that would help

The chicken is bad. you get overcharged for everything theyre cheap with ( salsa portion sizes, etc). they won't include anything in your takeout order unless you ask (napkins, etc) along with getting poor service. the first cup had Less than the 2nd cup shown in the photo. smh. we are left to use our own hot sauce to eat this food from this place just after 4 bites

This place has probably been around longer than I've lived in Babylon. I remember going here when I was in highschool over a decade ago. Staff is super nice and are still very save and cautious with covid procedures. I got bourbon chicken chimichangas and they were amazing like every other time I've gotten them. Huge portion and very cheap and filling. I love this place so much. My only wish was that they were available on delivery services because I would order way more often.

I cannot believe I lived in west Babylon for 7 years and only tried this place 2 years ago. I passed by so many times. The food is fantastic and my wife and I keep going back for more. Try the burbon chicken with anything. It’s not a dine in place, so just take out and I promise you will be back. Food is affordable and I highly recommend their taco salad that’s served in a crunchy bowl…. Or their nachos!

Great food!! Kind of annoying that the sour cream on the side only comes with a little tiny dab and no where near fills the tiny sauce cup. And if you want extra it’s an extra charge. Did also see rabbits in the back in cages years ago. Questionable 🥴 but food still good so I eat it anyway just try not to think about it 😂

these ppl are horribly cheap with their salsa and sour cream. theres a tspn per cup and they give you 1-2 of each for a medium order if you don't say anything. then they try to charge you more money for a lick of salsa. horrible , poor costumer service and business. their food isnt that good that it can be eaten dry. and no, I don't think they're mexican. it's mostly the ladies in the front who should take some classes on how to work at a restaurant. this place has been falling off

Absolutely delicious food! Price of quesadillas is insane when they're so small. I'd recommend lowering price on them. They don't deliver, def a downfall. And they only accepted cash at one point.

So happy we found this place. Quick, decently priced, delicious food. I've been searching for a place like this for about 5 1/2 years since we moved here.

I've been coming here for years and I am highly disappointed in the service. I understand due to Covid and inflation that prices are going up however after checking my bag before leaving. I noticed that the bourbon chicken was extremely dry and I asked for just a little sauce on top of the chicken. She told me that she put a lot already and that I would be $.75 extra for the sauce.

Quick and convenient for the whole family. Decent size portions, great side sauces, and even better lunch specials. Definitely worth trying. Only downfall is cash only.

People working here are very nice and they take cash or credit.. I think the food is always great and it always taste the same everytime so to me that's a good thing. It's a small place but it's been around for a long time. It's a favorite!

Yea, not quite sure where to put this place. It's a Mexican restaurant run by Chinese in an American Chinese take-out sort of fashion. It's cheap and, when my coworkers suggested we order from here, I did not know what to expect. I got the bourbon chicken over rice, which was under $4 delivered to me. It wasn't great. The bourbon chicken just tasted salty with no real discernible flavor. The rice underneath it was soggy and also quite salty. The rice was like the kind of rice that is made from a box or purchased frozen and just reheated. The guacamole was a weird concoction of guac, salsa, and sour cream resulting in a sort of liquidy sauce that tasted nothing of guacamole. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. I used some of it to give the bourbon chicken some flavor. Would I come back here? No. But I guess if you're in the mood for Asianized Americalized Mexican food delivered to your door for less than the cost of a frozen Hungry Man dinner, Island Grill is for you.

If I could give half a star I would. Last time I went in there there were bugs in my food. I wish I had taken a picture but once I saw them I threw the food out.

Take out date: March 15, 2014 So I got really happy that I found a Mexican place to deliver in Babylon. Green cactus shut down (and they had stopped delivering before that), Swell Taco doesn't deliver, and Del Feugo doesn't deliver. I was pressed for time but really wanted Mexican on Saturday so I found this place, placed an order with them and went about my business until my food was delivered. When the Chinese guy delivered my Mexican food, and I figured out that this was one of those Mexican food cooked by Chinese people sort of a deal (like this place my parent's have in Baldwin) I figured the food might not be all that good. The guac was pretty disgusting, it had a Mayo type of consistency. My suggestion don't get the gauc here. The Nachos were interesting. At first I thought they were good despite the fact that they used the same type of melted cheese that Taco Bell, 711, and the movie theatres use (sorry I like fresh cheese unless I'm at Taco Bell, 711, or the movie theatre). As I munched on more chips though a few of the nacho chips did seem stale to me. My burrito was not wrapped the correct way. I had to keep it in the tinfoil to eat it. It was alright. Chock full of veggies that did seem pretty fresh, they did include rice in it, along with melted movie theatre nacho cheese. I was starving so I wolfed down the food, it was edible or I wouldn't have eaten it but it definitely wasn't one of my favorite meals. I think I'll stick to having to pick up my Mexican food or eat it in restaurant, unless some of Island Grill's competition starts to deliver! *hint hint* swell taco!

It's small and looks like a Chinese takeout place from the outside and even entering. However, like many things and places appearances can fool you! The food is inexpensive for the quality you get. They use real meat, fresh tomatoes, lettuce and other toppings you may choose. The portions are generous with salsa, guacamole and sour cream usually on the side. My favorite are the burritos! They are almost two meals for me. Filled with rice and beans and the meat you choose. The beef tacos are also very good. They also have steak tacos with tender steak and a decent size. I like them because it's quick and simple with good quality. I was never let down for my night snack or taco tuesdays!!! It's definitely a takeout or delivery location. They don't have much ambiance but it's the food that counts! Skip the "bell" and go to the island!

Island Grill is probably the most unassuming hidden gem that you'll find in West Babylon. When you walk in, the place looks like every Long Island Chinese takeout place. The difference? They're slinging tacos and burritos instead. Now, I'm not trying to position this place against the Verdes or Swell Tacos of the world. The food is cheap. The food is fast. They even deliver. But for all its conveniences, the food is great. Big pluses in my book- They make their tortillas fresh nonstop. You watch them freshly grilling all of their meats right in front of you. The portions are great for the price. And the staff is always friendly whenever I come in. Can't ask for more than that.

Ordered with this restaurant 8/19/21. The next dat I had bubble guts ( when you have diarrhea/ ass explosion ). I orders a shrimp quesadilla and chips and guacamole. I'm Not sure what made my stomach upset . But I believe it was the guacamole!!!!!!!!!. The toilet bowl was greeeeennnnn!! So it had to be the guacamole . I always order from here and this is the first . Idk if anything changed but last night / this morning was not goooood!! Ruined my Whole night .

Got the regular hard shell tacos tonight. Plenty of meat. It's just the meat has a kind of sweetness to it that I'm not a fan of. Not bad. It might appeal to someone else's palate, just not mine.

Absolutely kills it every time so good always consistent and great never fails love this place since it open when I was in high school still tastes the same

Recommended to me by my manager ... and it is delicious !! I ordered the gigantic quesadilla , my sister ordered nachos with chicken ... fried with chicken ... great food. I love the style of the place seems like a chinise take out place but it is MEXICAN FOOD COOKED BY CHINISE PEOPLE.. love it!!! #MakeAmericaDiverseAgain definitely will recommend every I know!

OMG - a taco place that delivers!? I love this place. Everyone is so friendly and food is always delicious. I always get a whole bunch of soft ground beef tacos and quesadillas - SO good! I wish they would take credit cards though. I never carry cash, so I always have to make an ATM stop whenever I want Asian Mexican tacos... lol

Everything is freshly made. On the menu it says the flour tortillas are made from scratch daily and baked in their tortilla machine. You can taste the freshness! The tortilla is light and tasty and complements the fresh veggies well. I got a shrimp burrito and they included plenty of shrimp in every bite.

I ordered a cheese quesadilla, a shrimp taco, rice and beans and guacamole with chips, all of this came to a total of $12.50.. with that said you get what you pay for. I'm not gonna say the food was terrible but it was definitely lacking some flavor. The quesadilla was pretty much two soft taco shells with cheese in the middle, it was really greasy and I didn't like it at all. The shrimp taco was good but both the rice and beans and guacamole was missing flavor. The guacamole was more watery then thick. I would probably go back just off of the strength of the price and the service was quick.

Horrible food. The place is dirty inside. Staff isn't that friendly either to be honest. Probably worst Mexican food you'll ever eat. It's an embarrassment to even call us Mexican food.

Although I order quite frequently, I have a love-hate relationship with Island Grill. The food is really great, considering it isn't authentic. The prices have been going up pretty consistently & it can get a bit annoying when you have an outdated menu (pretty often). Delivery can take a long time, so be mindful when placing your order. The chicken is kinda bland to me and can also be dry. The shrimp is pretty good (eh it's shrimp), but I definitely recommend the steak, ground beef & chili. The portion sizes can vary, though.. For instance I would consider their enchiladas as being a bigger portioned meal; however, their Mexican pizza is smaller than I anticipated. The nachos are excellent, but I would definitely recommend you only get them if you pick up your order, otherwise expect soggy nachos - GUARANTEED. The French fries are crisp and yummy & don't get me started on their tacos. Asking for substitutions can sometimes be misunderstood, or at least in my experience. Lastly, make sure you've got cash because they don't accept any cards. All in all, for a full stomach along with your full wallet I would recommend Island Grill. They'll be around for a while

Please have someone who understands and speaks English please !!!. Taking a delivery order is such a headache and most of the time they send the wrong items. Food is good but the service is just terrible. I asked multiple times to speak to someone who understood English, waited for a few minutes just to get the same person. Easy improvement that will benefit the restaurant a lot.

Great food and service is fast and they deliver fast we order at least 2 a month

Ugh after yelling into the phone for 20 minutes between my address and order they still got it wrong. Why is a Mexican joint run by Chinese people who can barely speak or write English. 1 hour and 45 minutes later for he driver arrives. Everything was cold the nachos were like cement by time we ate. Never gonna order from this rat hole again.

Tried this last week. I've lived here for over fifteen years and figured why not. I have a two year old daughter so called up to place an order. Tried the shrimp quesadilla. A beef soft taco and a chicken hard taco. Was told fifteen minutes. If you have a kid you know fifteen minutes flies. It must've been about 15 minutes and one second and I received 4 calls from them. Yes four. When I got there which the Parking is horrible I was told cash only. Had to go get cash. Then told why did I take so long! I opened the shrimp quesadilla to find it in a grease puddle. When are fresh shrimp greasy!? And next the burnt chicken taco. Yes burnt hard disgusting. Then the orange soft taco. I call it so because it was so greasy it was orange when I opened it. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy.

Not authentic Mexican, but pretty good as far as take out goes. Above average delivery time and the prices aren't bad. I will be going back a few times a year.

Food is just ok there are much better places to go but if your looking for cheap mediocre food then this is the place. Prob wont order again because they have messed up on orders more then once and instead of making it right we have been told we need to order the minimum again or that they just arent going to deliver what they messed up because its not what they heard when we called..maybe they should hire someone who can understand english a little better

This place is GREAT! The Food is great. They deliver to me a town over normally in less then 30 mins! The prices are amazing. I feed the whole family for $30

We order from here about once a month.. The family loves their tacos, cheesy fries, chicken quesadilla and the chimichanga platter which is enough for two people they are huge. The combo platters are nice also with the right amount for the right price. We always try to order and pick up. Food can get soggy when ordering delivery if you get hard shells and fries. They do make their tortillas fresh. Arrrrrrriba!!

The food wasn't too bad. Chimichanga was pretty good. I just wish I saw the pictures here of the nachos before I ordered them; I'm not a fan of that fake nacho cheese stuff and only had two chips before I couldn't eat any more of that. The Chinese-Mexican places I've ordered from usually melt real Monterey jack cheese on the chips, not that yellow goop. At least the prices are fairly low compared to what I'm used to.

It's okay but definitely not authentic. I ordered 3 hard shell tacos; 1 ground beef, 1 shrimp & 1 chicken. Shells were oily, shrimp had no flavor/seasoning. Ground beef was so sweet & tasted bizarre. The tortilla chips were so oily that I could not eat them. Service was great though and pick up was fast! Maybe I can try something different in the future

Always enjoy the chicken fajita by the pound...usually, with extra onions and peppers at no charge, if you ask. VERY tasty chicken. It comes with soft tortillas, salsa, sour cream and black beans. Excellent value...feeds a family of 4 or 5 for about $17.00.

Good food, however my order of mixed vegetables and guacamole only contained two pieces of broccoli and mostly onions. It was a a bit disappointing but the beans and guacamole were very delicious. My friend ordered a chimichanga and a steak fajita, both which are very filling and tasty. It's quickly made and is by no means authentic, but still very tasty. Funny design of menu, with the Chinese menu style with Mexican options instead. Inside seems clean with very little seating, as it is a takeout place. I also didn't see everyone wearing gloves inside, so I'm uncertain about that. All in all, good place for some fast and tasty takeout.

Shrimp tacos are amazing, food is usually good,,!! The only problem is when ordering on the phone sometimes hard to communicate with them and items are wrong.

The chicken burrito brought me to climax. Plus the parking is good. 5 stars. Keep up the good work.

Good stuff. Mexican fair being made by a chinese family. They do it well. Always fresh and tasty. Friendly service and way better then taco bell. You wont be disappointed

Fast Mexican take out. No frills. We always enjoy the bourbon chicken quesadillas and steak fajitas. Food always comes out fast. Cash only. Downside is I live a town over not even 5 minutes and they do not deliver there. If you want a normal sour cream/side for the amount of food, you're going to pay for it!!!

The food is good, but ordering is an issue. Every time I order, they somehow mess it up. Even when you try to tell the workers that they messed up, they argue that they didn't.

Love this place! Been there a bunch of times. The owner is very friendly, warm, fun, and inviting. Great food, all-around! My favorite is the steak quesadilla and the steak burrito! OMG both are the best I've ever had! All ingredients are always so fresh, and you can tell the style of everything tastes and feels like it's homemade!

island grill is good for those nights you want tacos but dont wanna spend a lot of money or go too far...a decent mexican food spot. you would think it was a chinese take out spot but they're clearly doing something right. cant complain about this place, i like it!

I got terribly sick from eating here. A serious case of food poising! Eaters beware! Ive eaten here a bunch of times and never experienced this before. I think they served old meat.

Love this place! We order from them all the time! They are good cheap and fast!! Since we don't eat meat in our house Mexican is a good option for us! We always get the nachos with cheese with the chips on the side.. It comes with chopped tomatoes jalepenos black beans and cheese!! And the black bean enchilada yummy! Which comes with chopped tomatoes black beans and rice!! I can't tell you how the meat dishes are but the black beans are the best I've had so if that's any indication you should be golden:-)

This isn't my go-to when I want an authentic burrito or guac or Mexican, this is the kind of plae you go to because it's a guilty pleasure. My co-workers and I often order a few varieties of nachos to share and have never been disappointed... it's just what we need after a long, hard day. The cheese is like that of what you'd get in a ball park, but sometimes it's all you want.

Ordered the chicken quesadilla and chicken fajita. Everything came out quick and was super fresh. I remembered to bring cash, who carries cash anymore? Everything was tasty, and fresh. Will be back again next time I will bring the kiddies.

Received my order for delivery and ckn wings had all bottom halves (flats) of the wings (not one drum stick piece; and one time they sent third piece, don't know what its called but the piece below the flat, didn't care it was only one so I let it go). I called and spoke to a young man there and he stated no problem he would take care of me next time and I even reminded him of my address. A few weeks later I called and spoke with someone I had never heard the voice before and told him what happened when I placed my order and he told me no; we don't do that it's a mix of wings. I flipped and told him "you do, you did it to me a few weeks ago!" (who makes up something like that) He responds "ma'am don't yell at me, I have customers in front of me" ( He wasn't nice at all, but I was definitely yelling, that's probably why, lol) I was ticked off, so I asked him to get me the manager and he respond they are not here, they will back on Monday. So I ask who is the person I should ask for and he responds "anyone", what a joke! Check your food with delivery and pick up, don't let them get away with it again yelpers! I'm done, It was such a simple thing for them to fix and the only reason I actually ordered food tonight is because I wanted them to "right their wrong."

I order from Island Grill every week, great quality, big sizes and very delicious! The chicken enchiladas are perfect! The bourbon chicken on anything is outstanding! The chili is great and the steak is wondeful! Everything is tender and tasty! The people are nice and freindly who deliver! Skip Taco Bell and get the real thing at Island Grill! You wont regret it! Burritos,enchiladas ,quesadillas, mexican pizzas, fajitas,chimichangas, all with chicken, bourbon chicken,steak,ground beef, chili,shrimp, everything taste great!

I'm a vegetarian, so I stick with tacos when ordering here. I always get black bean tacos (which contains the beans, lettuce, cheese and tomato cubes). Taste AMAZING. They make their own soft taco shell and it taste so good! I will say comparing to taco bell, the taco to me here taste better than a bean burrito there. Also, at taco bell anytime I ordered a bean burrito 7 out of 10 times they would accidentally mix meat in with it. Horrible! I've never had this problem at Island Grill! They are consistent and good. I'm sure these tacos are also slightly healthier than taco bell. The only thing I don't really like is parking and waiting for my order. they are fast to make it, but I'm a very lazy person who wants to just go to a drive thru, which they don't have. They do have a parking lot, but it's small and I have to do a lot of backing up to exit. Also, the staff are always friendly.
