Island Provisions - Downtown Charleston

We love eating at Island provisions every time we come to Charleston. Coffee and smoothies are great. We usually get one breakfast sandwich and a couple different toast like the avocado toast and the salmon toast and that makes for a big beautiful breakfast.

I came here from out of town. Our local coffee shops have coffee that is nowhere near the taste of this coffee. Super quick and nice service..with the best coffee I’ve had at a local shop! I had an iced caramel latte and the turkey and goat cheese sandwich, absolutely out of this world!!

We can across island provisions and saw a line out the door- we decided it was a good idea to wait. Wait went quick 15-20 min tops to get to our order in. We shared a IPA while our coffees and food were being prepared. I had the chicken salad sandwhich. My bf had the classic breakfast sandwich. Both were super tasty. We quite literally licked our fingers clean. So good. Coffees are smooth, both got a vanilla oat latte. Looking forward to visiting again!

When there is a line that’s a good sign… that is what they say… well they are right… 🚨🚨 had a three shot latte yummm The salmon toast yuummm They need more space though folks were leaving when they saw the line…. But we wanted to see and taste the goodness and it was good 😊 and military supported 👌

We stopped by this little café while passing through — and it turned out to be such a lovely surprise. The food was genuinely delicious, the coffee was great, and the whole place had a warm, welcoming feel. There’s even a cozy patio where you can sit and enjoy the moment. Definitely coming back next time we’re in the area.

My wife and I visited Island Provisions for our first time when visiting Charleston and had a great time here. The breakfast and iced lattes we got were really good and we enjoyed it all! The location here is really neat with their outdoor seating. We loved that it is covered as well. The inside is a little small with seating, but we didn’t mind it. The service was really good and everybody was very kind so that is a big plus. We definitely will return back when we visit Charleston again.

My boyfriend and I visited here with some friends on a recommendation from TikTok and I definitely was not disappointed. The aesthetic of the place is super cute with both indoor and outdoor seating options. It was pretty busy when we went but the outdoor seating available gives it a more relaxing and open atmosphere. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and brown sugar cinnamon syrup and it was really good, I’ve been drinking coffee and espresso for awhile and I don’t think I’ve ever tried the blend they use. It has a sort of unique flavor that I really enjoyed. I also ordered their classic breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and it was fantastic, the hot honey on it gives it a unique flavor compared to other places I’ve tried. My boyfriend and friends ordered different drinks and food and all enjoyed theirs as well. The only thing I’d dock them on was that the wait on our food and drinks was a little long, but like I said they were pretty busy. I woke up the next morning wanting it again, so I’ll definitely visit next time I’m in the area!

Great coffee and sandwiches! I got a “Somewhat Healthy” and a decaf latte with homemade crema and it was delicious. Great outdoor seating options too!

Cute shop. Wasn't greeted super warmly but nothing rude just didn't have the southern hospitality which I tell everyone on the west about. Vibes off due to everyone inside on their laptops and headphones on so seems this is more of a place to come and do work, it wasn't lovely just kinda quiet and boring. That's cool it works for the working people or college students. I also just didn't really like my smoothie. I got the "peach me how to dougie" fun name, embarrassing to order lol. It tasted healthy but not in a favorite way. Hubs got a croissant sandwich and coffee and liked it. I don't think I'd return but maybe it's more of a local spot and that's ok they may like it that way! Outdoor had a cute dog that was the best part for me.

Island Provisions is such a gem in Downtown Charleston! We stopped in on a holiday (so it was understandably busy), but still managed to get everything we wanted and snag two seats at the bar area after just a short wait in line. Street parking luck was on our side too. We each had a latte -- one honey lavender and one brown sugar cinnamon -- both smooth and flavorful without being overly sweet. For food, we tried the GF BLT sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich with a side of potato salad. Everything was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. The homemade pop tart was such a fun treat to finish with. The space is bright and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Even on a busy day, the staff kept things moving and friendly. Definitely worth a visit whether you're looking for coffee, brunch, or a cozy spot to hang out. Only thing missing was we wanted to grab a matchbook for our collection!

The Boss breakfast sandwich bursts with flavor, with the hot honey as a great touch. As soon as I took a bite, I knew it was the best bagel sandwich I've had. The Piña Berry smoothie was also great. I was able to sip on this for quite a bit and it was very filling. There was a line out the door when we got there, but we didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes to order. The service was friendly, and even with a large group, we didn't have to wait too long for our orders. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and the restaurants itself is cute on the inside and out. Can't go wrong with anything on this menu!

We stopped here for breakfast before our flight home. Not many tables inside. Quite a few outside but pretty hot if you are in the sun. The line was super long and quite the wait for food and drinks. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was really great though. My friend got the salmon toast and she said that was good too. I also got a cold brew which was decent. Cute spot but super long wait.

Came here for lunch after a busy morning at the Boone Plantation. Being hungry, we decided to come here as it wasn't far away from where we were staying at the Hyatt. The place looked pretty cool and it seemed like a lot of people were there enjoying their lunch or coffee while getting work done. Plenty of cute tables for seating. It has that vibe. I ordered an Island Caprese sandwich. With the sandwich comes a bag of chips. They have the best ones - fortunately got myself one of the jalapeño kettle chips, my favorite. I also ordered a cold brew with it. Cold brew was great. Had the right bounce for the summer. The sandwich was a generous portion. We split the sandwich between the both of us, but it kept us more than full until dinner, which would be later in the evening. I noticed the place becomes a happy hour of sorts later in the afternoon with cocktails, wine, etc. so it seems like a great hangout place too.

While I was in Charleston, I visited this spot four times haha. It was super convenient because it was right across the street from our Airbnb. It's small inside but has a surprising amount of seating & an outdoor patio (dog-friendly) with some tables. It gets SUPER busy on the weekends but they move the line pretty quick. I enjoyed a coffee every day and it was great. For lunch, I had the smoked turkey, fig and goat cheese sandwich. 10/10 - soooo good!! One day I also had a breakfast sandwich that was good but kind of falling apart messy, but that's okay. All of the staff was super nice. They have a grab and go cooler with some salads, wraps, and drinks. They also sell wine! Definitely would recommend this spot.

Some of the best coffee (with homemade syrups) and breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Definitely would go out of my way to come back here on my next Charleston visit.

Delicious breakfast sandwich and iced lattes! I ordered the boss but instead of an everything bagel I did the Asiago and added bacon. Y'all. The fluffiest egg, delicious white cheddar cheese, perfect bacon and a bagel that will give nyc a run for their money! It was topped with hot honey and it was 10/10, no notes! I also did an iced coffee with house made crema and one pump of housemate vanilla syrup. Y'all. NO NOTES! It was delicious and I loved that I could get a large because sometimes a small just won't do. It can get really crowded inside but as we were waiting for the food a spot at their bar top opened up which was perfect. They also have a wonderful patio to sit outside if the inside is full. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out relatively quick. They also have a great grab and go cold drinks selection for wine and beer and a wine wall as well. Perfect to stop in before heading to the beach or the park for a fun day. (Idk if you can drink in public so don't take advice from me on that). Anywho, def recommend this spot for a delicious start to your morning!

RUN do not walk to Island Provisions. We were staying at an Airbnb right behind the establishment so we decided to try it for breakfast our first morning. We never looked back. For our entire week stay we went back to Island Provisions multiple times per day most days but for breakfast everyday. My two favorite items were the Shakshuka toast and the Smoked Turkey and Goat Cheese sandwich. I could truly eat both of these things everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired. As a New Yorker who has spent time in Israel I am extremely picky about my Shakshuka but Island Provisions absolutely nailed it - I was very impressed. The Turkey sandwich was so simple but the ratios were spot on and each complemented each other perfectly. I am honestly upset to be back in NYC as I cant get Island Provisions for breakfast tomorrow. If you're in Charleston this is a must hit.

Cute coffee shop that was an easy walk from the hotel! Quick service and got a table luckily (not a ton of seating). We enjoyed our lattes and breakfast - worth stopping in if nearby!

Loved this cute and cozy lunch spot!! I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches but went with the Italiano. It was amazing!!!!

Cute and quaint local coffee shop. My vanilla latte was tasty and not bitter/burnt which is unfortunately common with some coffee shops. Vibes are very chill. Spent some time doing work on my computer. Music is low enough to get work done. Wi-Fi wasn't working which was a bummer.

Was visiting Charleston this past weekend for a bachelorette trip and we were lucky to be staying down the street from Island Provisions. I think in the 3 days we were there, our group stopped in at least 6 times. The first time for coffee in general, but we kept stopping back because not only was the coffee/menu really good, but so was the service. The staff working the counter and in the kitchen were some of the nicest people! They took time to answer any questions or explain some items on the menu -- and that was during some of the busiest times. Currently back in Pittsburgh and sad to no longer be down the street. Would absolutely recommend stopping in!! Great for coffee, a proper meal, or a sweet treat.

This place was recommended to us by a server at another restaurant nearby. It's an adorable coffee and breakfast joint near downtown Charleston. I had a delicious coffee and the Shakshuka for breakfast. They were both wonderful! It was very busy and popular on the weekend among locals. The inside was cutely decorated as well. Check it out!!

I'm constantly on the hunt for the best avocado toast in Charleston, and this one is nearly my favorite. It has onions, lemon arugula, chili, peppers, and so much more packed on top of a thick piece of sourdough bread. Not many places in Charleston offer that thick of sourdough. I also got an iced Matcha, which was pretty good. It's sweetened with honey, and while I'm not the biggest fan of the two mixtures, I've gotten this drink three times now and keep going back for it, so I definitely like it hahaha. I always choose to sit out on their little patio, and I love it. It's the perfect place to get some work done. The Wi-Fi is pretty strong, and the outdoor seating isn't as busy as inside, probably because it's usually hot, but I don't mind. Parking isn't horrible on the street just make sure to read signs!

Food was so good. Had avocado toast. Really hit the spot. And a very good mimosa. Service was quick and efficient

Supreme breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Any place that Can excel in both of these is a winner in my book. Most places here do well with one or the other but this place knocks both outta the park

Got a jasmine tea and the Boss it was delicious and came out super quickly. Great Saturday brunch spot to go.

I've been to this location multiple times and always receive great customer service. My go-to is a latte with their house made almond/coconut milk crema *chefs kiss*, plus whatever flavor I'm feeling that day. I've also had the avocado toast -- very delicious! Fridge is full of small bites and salads. Kitchen makes breakfast & lunch sandwiches. They also serve specialty cocktails, wine, and beer. Overall a very well rounded spot. I'll be back!

My favorite little spot in Charleston. So much as to say I visited back to back days cause I couldn't get enough. While traveling for a work + exploration trip in charming Charleston, I was craving food that was clean and of substance. So glad to have stumbled upon Island Provisions. Dropped in for a bagel sandwich that had egg, bacon, and a hot honey drizzle, an oat latte, and a smoothie. Items are a bit on the pricier end but who doesn't want to pay a little extra for quality food. The bagel sandwich hit the spot in taste although it was unfortunately on the smaller end. The iced latte was on point and the smoothie was clean and satiating. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed seeing people posted up in the small shop either working away on their laptops or having conversations with friends.

Friendly staff, yummy sandwiches. The bread is perfection! The masala chai was the best I've ever had! A fabulous find! New coffee spot for sure! Can't wait to come back and try their salads and breakfast options.

Amazing breakfast This cute little cafe is the perfect place for a light and yummy breakfast. We tried their avocado toast and salmon toast. Their bread is off the hook - crusty yet soft on the inside with whole grain goodness. Paired perfectly with the avocado and salmon. Don't forget to add on the 6 min egg

Recently tried this place for breakfast and it is fabulous! Their coffee and pastries are delish and I got the avocado toast which was 10/10. Quick, friendly service and great ambiance.

Truly 5 stars all around, food, ambience, drinks. We went multiple times while we were in town and everything we got was incredible and people were so nice and friendly! This is a perfect local spot to grab a drink and hang out or a matcha and get some work done! This is a must go to spot!

A place that I never got around to because of its remoteness has opened this downtown Charleston location. The brunch operation includes freshly prepared food and drinks as well as salad bowls and baked goods ready to go. The same space houses tacos at night, though the menu didn't have much for me. Indoor and outdoor seating (with a fan) was available. I meant to order a salad bowl, but was tempted by an avocado toast with microgreens and pickled onions which was a quintessential rendition, albeit not a very large one. I also spotted a nutella M&M brownie, which I thought I'd take with me, but it tempted me, just sitting there, so delicious-looking, and thus did not last very long. The least impressive thing I got was a pineapple-infused matcha. Sometimes matcha goes great with fruit (see strawberry), other times not so much. In this case, the pineapple just didn't really do a whole lot for me. I'd try the chai if I had another chance. A pricey place, but I ordered more than I wanted to and by the end, wanted more than I'd ordered.

With so many breakfast and coffee options in Charleston, it is hard to find somewhere with good service, ambiance, and prices that reflect the quality of what you receive. I sat at the bar alone and thoroughly enjoyed my warm, extremely filling salmon toast with an oat milk latte while reading the Charleston City Paper. The service was great with a balance of checking in on me and an unspoken understanding that I was enjoying some "me time" before heading to work. I will be back!

Myself and two other people stopped here before we had to go work a wedding, and while it was busy inside service was quick and the sweet potato latte that I got was absolutely delicious and I've never had anything similar. When I return to Charleston again in 2026 I will definitely be putting this place on my list.

This really hit the spot on a Sunday!! We ordered ahead and picked up a couple of sandwiches/toasts. First off, the store is super cute. To my knowledge, there's not a ton of parking, but the first part of the restaurant is a special food market situation with cool drinks and food items. It was great entertainment to look at while my fiancé paid for our food! The service was awesome - everyone was really friendly, and the store was extremely clean and trendy. They have a cute outdoor patio as well, which I plan to use in the future. The food was all 5/5. I ordered the veggie sandwich, and while it definitely felt healthy, it was seasoned very well and filling. I got a couple bites of my fiancé's salmon toast with a soft boiled egg - I'll be having this one next time. They were both great but you really can't beat smoked salmon with garlic chive cream cheese. And the prices were really reasonable! I got potato salad as my side which was delicious. I'll be back!!

Delicious latte, BEC sandwich was so good (the hot honey is a great addition) and the avocado toast is very impressive. Super thick slice of bread and generous portion of avo. Skip Holey city and go here instead, it was faster and honestly better.

Yum! Had breakfast here, ordered the avocado toast and the boss breakfast sandwich, both were delicious. Also great coffee (and I'm self admittedly kind of a coffee snob). Seating inside and out. Lots of people eating and chatting and people with laptops working.

Hands down one of the best sandwiches! I got the smoked turkey and goat cheese. The fig jam and aoli were amazing! The ciabatta was very fresh and soft. I also had a small side salad with arugula and pickled onions. The pickled onions was a nice touch and gave it lots of flavor. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. The cafe was pretty small with not a ton of indoor seating. But there is plenty of outdoor seating!

I have been a frequent flyer, and a big fan of the Johns island location for a few years. So, I had to stop in while I was downtown shopping. This location is so beautiful, and styled very uniquely. It was great to see familiar faces, and enjoy a yummy latte. The service was quick, and the menu had a few different items which made me happy. If you are downtown, stop in! Such a cute addition to downtown.

Stopped by here for a cortado with oat milk and a splash of the brown sugar cinnamon syrup! It was really good, though overpriced. The entire coffee shop is so cute and there is a nice outdoor seating area as well. Love that it's in a residential part of downtown.

Such a fun place to stop for a casual drink, bite of food or just to pick up some fun Charleston based snacks. You can buy wine by the bottle and they also have a free tasting night on Thursdays. The staff are super friendly and helpful and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a place you could post up and get some work done while enjoying their food. I highly recommend stopping here for a drink while waiting for a table at Chubby Fish. One of our go to spots!

I'm so glad I decided to make the trip to this spot! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they helped me with the menu and were polite as I was deciding what to order. The environment of Island Provisions is a hidden gem. I am adding it to my list of study spots downtown! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are very nice. My food was delicious - I had the Italiano sandwich with potato salad and a piña berry smoothie. I loved everything about my meal, the sandwich was delicious (the sun-dried tomato aioli lives in my dreams now!) and the potato salad was the perfect side, creamy and tasty. The smoothie was blended to perfection and was so delicious. If you're someone who can't ever decide what to get like me, get the piña berry smoothie! I wish I would've tried some of their coffee, everything looked great. I can't wait to stop in again.

This has been a hot spot for me and my friends lately. This has been our spot to get coffee and just gab like gal pals do. There is some important background here- Me and one of my gal pals had just gotten back from a trip to see some super special guys in our lives and one guy in Island Prov had the same shoes as one of the super special guys. My friend started crying bc she missed him a lot. But then she got a matcha latte and it cheered her right up. that's how smackin the latte is. this has been a place we love to come after our morning workouts. great lighting, great food, great drinks. our go to has also been the avocado toast. You HAVE to try it. yum. just yum how fun!

Enjoyed the lunch menu and service was very good for a busy day. Location is a bit off the beaten path but not too bad.

Very welcoming! I was warmly greeted by the staff who patiently waited for me to learn the menu. The chicken salad was delicious, and their matcha latte was made from real matcha. Their outdoor seating area is very cozy.

The croissant breakfast sandwich was delicious and my cortado was excellent. I like the vibe of this cafe-- there is bar and table seating (first come first serve). There is limited parking on the street. Such a great little shop!

The Boss breakfast sandwich looks mid...but it was SO good. The honey on this is to die for. It was very filling and I recommend. Very pretty location and I recommend if you don't want to wait in a long line like at the Daily. However baristas did not look like they wanted to be there and my iced vanilla latte was very average

BLT and potato salad were great! However, I wasn't crazy about the matcha, but that could be just me! Cute vibe, and nice outdoor seating!

Simple menu with very high quality ingredients. Probably the tastiest veggie sandwich in recent memory. The bread was so good and the tapenade too. My husband got the turkey sandwich (also delicious) and my kids shared a NY bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese to spread on it. Local beers available for purchase.

I love this place! Always enough seating (at least on weekdays). The side patio is nice when I want to get some fresh air while I work/ read. I'm always looking for healthy food and this sandwich hits all the healthy points for me! Lots of veg and protein.
