Island Vintage Shave Ice - Royal Hawaiian

This is some of the best shave ice! I got their island sunset and it was very flavorful. The popping boba and mochi were a great addition and provided a fun texture component. There’s usually quite a long line, but it moves fairly quickly, since it’s a self order system on a screen out front (see pic attached). I waited about 10 minutes for it, which was a lot shorter than I imagined with all those people waiting. Plenty of spots around to sit in the shade and enjoy your dessert. Mahalo! 🌺

Heaven in a bowl!!! So GRATEFUL for the pure, high-quality ingredients and fresh fruit! No toxic chemicals and additives; just pure, healthy, and delicious! Our go-to is half pineapple and half coconut (which is blue due to the natural spirulina) . . . INCREDIBLE! We also love the mango, lilikoi (passion fruit), and strawberry. We’ve tried their shave ice once with the condensed milk poured over it, which makes it a creamier treat, but we honestly just prefer the pure fruit and fruit juices alone; they taste phenomenal by themselves! So impressed by how quickly the Island Vintage team perfectly executes every order. My husband and I usually each order a keiki (child) size; it’s definitely large enough to satisfy each of us. But get the larger size if you want a lot. We love coming here as a weekly date and only wish they had more locations all over the island!

We tried the Hawaiian-style soft serve that’s shaped like a mini volcano — and the presentation is definitely fun and unique! It looks great and makes for a cool photo, but in terms of taste, it didn’t really have a “wow” factor. It was just okay — kind of like a basic soft serve with a slight twist, but nothing extraordinary flavor-wise. It’s worth trying once for the experience, especially if you’re curious — but I wouldn’t say it’s worth standing in line for 20 minutes or more. Fun to try once, yes. But not something I’d wait in a long line for again.

Best shaved ice that I’ve ever had. Texture wise - it was soft, and yet compact. Melted in your mouth, but not overly sweet. The flavors were natural and complimentary to each other. Ice cream at the bottom was smooth and creamy. We went back multiple times and everything was fantastic. Line was consistently like 20 people deep, but very worth it. It would be cool if they put a QR code on the side of the shack so people in line can look at the menu beforehand and be ready to order.

I absolutely love the shaved ice here! The Hawaiian Rainbow is my choice of shaved ice from here with a creamy frozen yogurt center, plus fun toppings like popping boba and chewy mochi balls. The combination adds the perfect balance of texture and just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. It’s incredibly refreshing, especially on a hot and humid day. There can be a line sometimes, but it moves quickly and is totally worth the wait!

Kiosk is right outside of the Royal Hawaiian Center. The mochi and popping boba are nice touches to the shave ice. Also nice is going up the escalator to enjoy your shave ice sitting down at the food court area.

My husband had this item on our Hawai’i bucket list and they did not disappoint! I know people will say “go to the locals” and get this type of stuff, which we will as well but this was amazing. We got 2 of the Hawaiian Rainbows and 2 of the Heavenly Lilikoi. I’ve never had shaved ice with ice cream inside. So flavorful and vibrant, and it was fun watching the team work together to create the dessert! We will be back before leaving the island!

Sweeter than what I’d expected, but it satisfies the cold dessert itch. The ice is finer than the rough grind, and mochi is deliciously chewy. I would not add the condensed milk if you enjoy the original ice shave taste.

Island Vintage is one of my favorite shave ice shops on island, and I am really sad that they don't have their shave ice stand in Ala Moana anymore. I have to take every chance I'm in Waikiki to get some of their shave ice. I got the heavenly lilikoi. I love the pieces of crunchy lilikoi seeds, which gives the shave ice the perfect amount of sour. It also has sweeter strawberry chunks and popping lilikoi boba that makes the perfect combo. I think they're the only shave ice place that I know that has yogurt as a topping, which I like better than regular ice cream. The ice texture is also perfect. This is definitely one of the best shave ice shops on island, and I would definitely check it out if you're in the area!

Best shaved ice in Waikiki! Fresh syrups, amazing flavor combos and toppings. The reviews speak for themselves. It's not a storefront, it's a small pop-up type of shop near the sidewalk. The larger island vintage coffee shop is on the second floor right across. The service was relatively fast, but you order off a screen and they call out your name. They can really only comfortably fit 2-3 employees max, so that limits how many orders they can push out.

Had a chance to visit Island Vintage Shave Ice and glad we did! This place is perfect on a hot summer day aka today - and was exactly what we needed. This is an informal area where you stand in line, get your order and then go along doing what you want to do. The service was quick overall for ordering but took some time to get us our order. We decided to try the Hawaiian Rainbow which was absolutely delicious! This came with mochi, soft serve and shaved ice with three different flavors: coconut spirulina, strawberry and mango. I loved this combination. The portion was perfect to share with the hubby and we relished every bite! The condensed milk it came with also was perfect. This is a little pricey for what you get - it ran us around $11, but you are in a touristy spot. Overall, good experience!

Island Vintage Shave Ice was super a huge surprise for me! I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed their shave ice. It was so good that I came on the first day of my trip and HAD to end my trip with it too. Food 5/5 All of their syrups are made with real fruit and you can definitely tell. I got the strawberry, mango, and lilikoi wjth condensed milk (like cmon how could you not?!) TIP: get the ice cream. You won't regret it! Service -/5 You order on the tablet and they call out your name. I can't really rate the service because you don't really talk to anyone. Only thing is that it came out pretty quickly! Ambiance 3/5 It looks like a little shack in the heart of Waikiki. You can't miss it because the line is always long! No seating but the mall right by it has benches for you. Okay, the only downside is that it's pretty pricey when you add the extras like condensed milk and ice cream... but cmon it's vacation and you deserve it!

Probably my favorite shaved ice that I had on the island! 'Heavenly Lilikoi': Passionfruit was slightly tart, while the strawberry was nice and sweet! Shaved ice texture was so SOFT and loved the frozen yogurt in the middle because it added a nice creamy texture to it! Comes with popping boba and mochi too, but the MOCHI omg they were so pillowy and might be some of the best I ever had!? What I love about this place is the fruit syrups they use are made of REAL FRUIT, and you can definitely taste the difference! This is a small stand on Waikiki, and even with long lines, I appreciated that the orders come out pretty quick!

Among all the shaved ice spots near the strip, Island Vintage Ice stands out as my favorite. It is extremely convenient for anyone staying in Waikiki! Despite the long lines, I love their refreshing shaved ice! What I like about this place is that their fruit syrups are made from real fruit. I always opt for the lilikoi syrup and mix it up with other flavors, adding mochi, and it never fails to hit the spot!I definitely recommend adding condensed milk on top for an extra treat!

Shaved ice is the perfect refreshment on a hot summer day! The ice consistency is what makes Island Vintage stand apart from the rest. It's softer than snow cone consistency...think billowy soft ice chips that melt in your mouth. Adding the soft mochi and poppin' boba made the snack extra yummy! The line tends to be long as this is a popular little place on the main road.

The shaved ice here never lets me down! This is surely our favorite shaved ice on all the island. It comes with gelato inside (if you go to the actual store location instead of the cart in waikiki center, you can have different types of gelato flavors inside - try coconut!) . I recommend always adding a little extra condensed milk and mochi if you like! The cart in waikiki center is always really long lines, so expect it to go really slow if you are going at prime time. The physical store location goes by a lot quicker and you can sit right outside and enjoy your shaved ice!

As our trip wound down, most of my meal checklist places were crossed off. After our final dinner, we took the escalator to the ground floor and found ourselves here. The two gals in the stands were efficient and the line moved swiftly. After ordering and paying, the customer walks away from the line area and waits for their order number or name to be called. I was happily surprised by the size as I walked over to my friend sitting on the side. Even at 8:50 pm, it was warm enough that it was already melting, dripping down my fingers as frantically licked it up and spooned some ice to stop the overflow. I liked that there were fresh strawberries to top my ice. I enjoyed the flavors which were distinguishable while not overly sweet. This is a great post meal option if you're dining in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center or nearby and don't see any interesting dessert options where you're dining. Glad I satisfied that craving.

The shave ice was the best ever. When ordering you use a touch screen so no human contact. Everything was pretty self explanatory in my option. I had a shave ice with popping boba and it included some really great flavors with ice-cream inside. It was one of the specialty shave ice. I enjoyed it so much I went back the next day. This place is great and a must try. There is not really any designated seating so you have to find a spot on benches near by.

Got the Heavenly Lilikoi! The toppings are great! Long line but the shave ice looks pretty good. You order with the tablet. It is a bit on the sweeter side, so I didn't finish it all. I like the ice cream inside.

This was my favourite shave ice spot of the four I tried during my visit to Ohau. It's a bit more expensive than the others, but the portion is big, and the flavours were delicious. The syrups used in the ones I've tried didn't have that artificial taste, and the shave ice had a delicate fluffy texture. I tried the Heavenly Lilikoi, and Pink Island, but you're free to create your own flavour combinations. This is a kiosk set up in the bustling heart of Waikiki, where you are required to place your order on the tablet set up at the front, and when your order is ready they will call out your name for pick up. Other than that, there's no real interaction with the people who work here. However, they were quite efficient, and the wait was never too long. I also noticed that they're usually busier in the evening with longer lines compared to the afternoon.

This place is sooo good. Sad, I only had time to eat here once. Really wanted to squeeze in another trip here before we had to leave. It's probably one of my all-time favorite desserts. I can't remember which one we got, but I'm sure they're all good. There's not too much different, just different combination of flavors and either popping boba or ice cream. I think we got the hawaiian rainbow. The ratio of shave ice to ice cream is great. The mochi was amazing, flavor tasted great. I think they make their flavoring in house, unlike many other places uses torani or some commercial like product. It's worth the wait, it goes by quick and usually don't need to wait that much longer after ordering. Ordering was all through the big screen, no need to interact with anyone.

Island Vintage Shave Ice is one of my favorite places for shave ice in Waikiki. I went there a few times during my stay. Other business sold shave ice with syrups or fruit puree. At Island Vintage they add different kinds of toppings so you get to eat and discover different textures making it a great shave ice experience. On each visit I ordered the Green Island shave ice. It comes in the shape of a cone with a scoop of frozen sweet cream yogurt inside the coned shaped ice. Matcha syrup is drizzled on top and then small pieces of mochi are placed around the shave ice along with adzuki beans. Next there were bite sized pieces of fresh pineapple sprinkled on top of the shave ice. All of these different toppings paired well. Then as the shave ice melted, the matcha syrup mixed with the sweet cream yogurt and ice. That blended combination was perfect and so refreshing on a hot day in Waikiki.

I never knew this shave ice place existed until I watched a YouTube video. I knew I had to visit as soon as possible, especially since it's been a while since I've had shave ice. Upon arrival, I thought the line was ridiculously long, only to be relieved when I realized the shave ice line was uber short. The long line was for their coffee products, but it did take some time for our order to be ready. Granted, there's only one person working, so please be patient--he takes the time to make each shave ice order look beautiful and taste delicious. Not to mention, he's got the best attitude. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our order, but it was definitely worth the wait. I've never had a smoother shave ice! Plus, I loved how authentic the flavors were--we got the heavenly lilikoi, which has lilikoi and strawberry flavoring, mochi, popping boba, condensed milk, and frozen yogurt. For the amount you get, I think the price is worth it, especially considering the fact that it's located in Waikiki. If you're a Hawaii resident and park at the Royal Hawaiian center, don't forget to get your receipt so you can get 3 hrs of free parking. Even if you're only there for over an hour, save yourself that $2. To get your Kama'āina validation, the office is on the first level between buildings B and C--just provide your ID, receipt, and parking ticket. I unfortunately forgot to get my receipt, but was able to show the proof of purchase from my credit card app. Don't make the same mistake I made. Highly recommend whether you're a local or a tourist.

Best Shaved Ice I've had, so far. A short line to order, and when you get to the front, you simply order on an iPad and wait for your name to be called. There are a number of shaved ice suggestions, but you can also make your own. We've tried them all, and there hasn't been a complaint with any. The surprise is the frozen ice cream that is at the base, surrounded by the shaved ice. DELICIOUS!!!

The taste is top notch! When you walk in you see a display with pictures and menu with a QR code. There is plenty of seating and seating outside. The customer service was quick. The inside of the building it was very clean and comfortable.

Walking around Waikiki, I wanted to try some shaved ice sooo badly, so I found this place on Yelp and stopped by. I was actually kinda surprised it was a kiosk, but it was well-situated in a heavily touristy area. You order via kiosk, and pick it up at the same window. The price wasn't as bad as you'd think! I got the Heavenly Lilikoi shaved ice, which came with some passion fruit, seeds, and mochi pieces. My biggest concern was how sweet it would be, but it honestly wasn't too bad! The flavor was great, and it was an amazing treat to have while walking to the beach.

Indulging in the shaved ice drink was a delightful experience; its tantalizing flavors left me thoroughly satisfied. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that the price was a tad steep for what it offered. Nonetheless, I'm glad I tried it, and it's worth experiencing at least once for the taste sensation.

I came to this stand 26 years ago with my family and was excited it was still around when I returned! I remember this specific shaved ice place because they put frozen yogurt under the shaved ice and it was always the most delicious pairing!! I returned with my husband and raved so much about this place before he even got to try it! We both enjoyed the Heavenly Lilikoi with it's flavor, the soft and chewy mochi, passionfruit, and especially the frozen yogurt. Popping boba isn't appealing to us but it didn't taste bad. The square recycle able container it comes in, makes it easy to tip towards the end, so you can drink the remnants :0) Pricing is not bad at $10.95 (without tax). The location is sooo convenient and close to many hotels. There does get to be a line but we were fortunate to go during the week day in the late afternoon when there was not a long wait. You self order on the screen and they call your name when it's ready. It's the best shaved ice place in the shopping plaza and within an hour vicinity!!

Shared the heavenly lilikoi and tropical island with three other people. Both were so good! We devoured them. I really enjoyed how there were so many different toppings and textures.

Was recommended to hit up this spot from my friend Kristenne. So hopped on Yelp to find out where it's at and to my pleasant surprise, it was super close by to where I'm staying at. I love how everything is walking distance away. I did pass it a few times though while I was looking for it. I was expecting this place to have its own restaurant or store. But it was a small kiosk in front of the Royal Hawaiian Center. Food: I decided to try the Heavenly Lilikoi with extra mochi. Really delicious! Highly recommend. Service: Really friendly. I happen to just beat the rush, but normally there is a long line. But have no fear. They definitely have their process down to get your shaved ice to you super quick. I was able to chill at one of the benches and grub on my shaved ice while listening to a performance that was happening in the courtyard area of the Royal Hawaiian Center. Will I be back?? Heck yes! I'm still missing that Heavenly Lilikoi shaved ice!

The shave ice was delicious. The shaved ice was on the sweeter side but the tart yogurt in the center really balanced the flavor. I enjoyed the toppings including the boba, mochi, and condensed milk. The service was non-existent as you order on a large table and don't tell get to talk to staff until you pick up your order. Once you finally get your shave ice, you can find a bench in the plaza near by. We should a bench and were able to enjoy the weather and our sweet treat.

My favorite shave ice I tried in Waikiki. Love that they have the option of adding soft service, frozen yogurt or gelato on bottom, and they also have very tasty mochi and good flavors. The line and wait can be a little long but it was worth it for me. It's a little kiosk on the street, and you order yourself on a tablet, and they call out your order when ready. I got the coconut gelato on bottom with the Hawaiian rainbow shave ice flavor and it was delicious! Also cheaper than some other options I tried in the area.

I remember this place because I had to come back like two or three more times. Island Vintage Shave Ice exceeded all expectations! As a fan of Korean-style bingsoo, I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of their American-style shaved ice. The Pink Island flavor was absolutely divine - I LOVE the lychee and strawberry combo. Despite my initial doubts, I had to give this experience a perfect 5 out of 5. Don't pass up the chance to try it for yourself! Location is in Royal Hawaiian Center, located in a cute, little stand, and also on the main streets of Waikiki. Service is variable. The vibes are great because you can shop, relax, and then chill with some shaved ice!

As a tourist in Oahu, this was one of the best shaved ices I've ever had! The lychee mint and strawberry syrups meshed so well together! You order through a tablet at the front too, so super easy ordering process. Located at the outskirts of the mall, this shaved ice spot is definitely worth checking out!

This was so good, I had it 3 out of 5 days I was in Waikiki. Went to the Royal Hawaiian Center Kiosk and the actual store down the block. When I ordered my favorite shave ice flavor (rainbow) at the store, they were out of soft serve. I got coconut custard instead, and man o man it was DELICIOUS.

Not bad shaved ice. I know some will say it's their favorite one but I think for me it's maybe slot 3 or 4. They advertise natural flavors which I know some others do too. Always need to get the ice cream and it's a bit hit or miss on there being a long line at this location. Overall a must-try and it's not at this location but the one on the boardwalk has boba milktea which was actually really good! Just really expensive haha

Long lines and the people working did not listen to the notes on the order. I didn't bother asking for a new shaved ice because the line is ridiculously long and I ended up just picking things out of it. $11 is steep for shaved ice, but it's island vintage. The sizes are good to share with 2-3 people. Lots of flavors to choose from. There is a kiosk for you to order. There is no interacting with workers.

Yummy and convenient shave ice location that's open relatively later than other spots! I love their real fruit syrups! This is a pretty small shack-like setup right in front of the Royal Hawaiian area. You'll know you found it when you see the long line and large crowd. It can look a little messy / hectic here because customers order on a tablet then wait hovering around the stall to hear their name. Since this place is right on the sidewalk it can be a bit busy as people are trying to get through. They have some pre-set flavor combinations that you can order or you can choose your own flavors. I got the lilikoi and pineapple flavor. Both flavors were so refreshing! The ice is soft and fluffy.

Out of all the spots in Waikiki, it is hard to find a good shaved ice place. This place is my go to whenever I land and it's very convenient to access.

You can't get tired of shave ice. I like this shave ice as the flavoring is made from real fruit. The line can get long but it's worth the wait. I suggest to grab a coffee near by at their sister company Island Vintage Coffee as well.

Very good treat to cool us down. Had good flavors and side had mochis and popping boba. We tried 3 different ones but they were all good.

1/9/23 Zach and I were lounging at Waikiki beach and I was really craving some shaved ice. Island Vintage Shave Ice was a block away from the beach so I moseyed on over to grab a shaved ice. I love the open windows and how clean it is inside. I ordered a Hawaiian rainbow shaved ice with vanilla ice cream, mochi on top with condensed milk drizzled on top. The flavors it consisted of were coconut, mango and strawberry. It was made in minutes and due to the weather, it was melting in minutes as well so it had to be eaten pretty fast. I managed to get back to Zach in time for him to try some of the shaved ice before it became a puddle. The shaved ice was really good, perfectly refreshing and sweet.

There are pre set flavor combinations or you can build your own with up to two flavors. $7.95 for two flavors choices. Self ordering system on the tablet. The middle of my shave ice was completely white and did not have any syrup. Had to mix it up to soak up more syrup but that combined my two flavors into one.

The best shaved ice I have ever had. I stumbled upon it when leaving the mall and it was amazing. Ordered from the iPad in front of the kiosk. The passion fruit was delicious! The Mochi was soft and had an amazing texture. The shaved ice was so soft and flavorful. The ice cream bomb in the middle was amazing! I chose coconut gelato and it was amazing!

Service is pretty quick for the amount of people in line. This dessert is so light and refreshing. The mochi is soft and chewy. The flavors of the lilikoi and strawberry taste fresh and not artificial. It has frozen yogurt on it too, which meshes well with everything else.

This is probably the best shave ice I've had in the Waikiki area. The texture of the shave ice is soft and easy to scoop, and the flavor syrups spread nicely on the shave ice. They make it easy to order with some predetermined combinations, and they have great additions, such as ice cream and mochi. I do wish that condensed milk was part of their menu, but the soft serve also does the trick. It's nice that they are open late, though it does get quite busy. I would recommend this place especially if you do not have a car to get to another shaved ice place outside of Waikiki.

Wow BEST SHAVED ICE EVER! Mochi, soft serve ice cream, and popping boba really make it EXTRA AMAZING! The flavors are all so real and not fake tasting! Long lines beware but so worth the wait!

The shaved ice was really good and had a lot of toppings. My favorite topping was definitely the mochi. Delicious! I also got an espresso shot which I am not gonna lie was not good. Go to island vintage coffee for coffee service was nice and speedy, and there were a lot of tables and colors. The music that was being played was also fire. Also great that it's across the street from the beach

Curiously, I added a shave ice tour to my Hawaii vacation and it almost ended after visiting Island Vintage Shave Ice (because it's sooo good). I decided to explore what else the island had to offer but I just kept coming back to this kiosk and because my hotel was across the street but because it was "ono-licious". I had trouble finding this initially but it's really simple, just looking for the outdoor kiosk/booth along the sidewalk and you'll easily find this place. Also keep in mind that you need to use the kiosk to order your items. I've seen it where staff ignores the person and they're just standing there then a line builds up. But to my satisfaction, product is made quickly and delish. I can barely make it back to my favorite Waikiki beach spot without devouring this guy clean. This shave ice has few quality of life features for me; it could be my breakfast, lunch, 2nd lunch, dinner or simply snacks. I remember one quick stop and to my delight, there were hula dancers on stage so I was able to get a performance with my shave ice.

So good! I ordered the mango and green tea flavors and it was so soft and delicious! The line was pretty long to wait, but it did feel like it moved at an ok pace. We went on a Friday night so I expected a long line. The shave ice here is definitely worth the wait.
