Visited for birthday dinner & it was good. My boyfriend ordered the Malibu burger and it was 5/5, I should’ve ordered instead of island nachos. I think they could’ve put a little more chicken for the amount of nachos they give but they were good so I’m not mad. Flights were a little too strong. I enjoyed 2/4, maybe because I’m not a drinker like that though so I enjoyed the mangonada drink! The woman that brought us our food had amazing customer service and was very polite ❤️ (Didn’t get her name 😒)

Island Restaurant has a cool tiki bar vibe that makes for a great dining experience. - The burgers here are fantastic—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. - I also tried the China Coast salad, which was decent but not the highlight (I’d give it a 6.5/10). - The drinks were good with beer fight and cocktail fight, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. If you’re looking for a chill spot with great burgers and a laid-back island feel, this is a solid choice!

Food was good. We were a party of six and our food came out in 3 installments. Mine came out last, separately, and the order was incorrect so I had to send it back meanwhile everyone was almost done with their food and I was offered yo eat the side dish of my sister's plate. By the time mine came out, everyone was done with our food. This issue was not acknowledged by management and when the bill came, no compensation or a though was given to this. I did ask to speak to the manager and after explaining what had happened, he took my meal and drink with 2 appetizers off the bill. Overall hectic and I never enjoyed my experience but I am pleased by how it was handled.

My friend and I stopped by Island today to grab lunch. We figured for Memorial Day they won't be busy but they were. We were told the wait would be like 20 minutes so we went to sit at the bar since it's open seating. Our waitress came quick to take our order. I got a cherry coke and got the Hawaiian burger with fries. My friend got water and got the chicken sandwich with truffle fries. I will say that your hands will get dirty from the teriyaki sauce and juice from the pineapple so if you want to avoid that, don't order the Hawaiian burger. I thought the burger was delicious though beside the mess. They also give you a lot of fries since there no more bottomless fries. My friend loved her chicken sandwich burger and truffle fries. Our server was amazing and attentive to us during our dining experience. We would come back again when we get a chance.

We were just at Island's for a quick bite to eat after visiting my mom who is in the hospital right now as inpatient. We were just looking to finally relax and eat after a long drive from Vegas and visiting my mom at the hospital. We were sat at a six top table by the hostess after waiting for about 10 mins. Our waiter was Timothy L who was immediately in a bad mood before he even spoke to us. He didn't greet us at all, he asked how many in our party and when we responded 2. His mood got worse. I get it's a six top but we didn't ask to be sat there. He was annoyed taking our orders even when we remained calm, composed, and asked nicely for our orders with a please and thank you. We know his job is not easy. Both myself and my BF have been servers when we were younger. Guess what? You don't take your frustration out on your customers. If you don't like your job, find a different job. But don't ruin people's dinner and you don't know what they are going through like us tonight. Be a better person. 😌

Food was delicious. First lunch date with a woman I'm interested in. The atmosphere was just right for us to have fun and talk which was about 3 hours. I will definitely take her there in the future.

The restaurant is visually appealing, but the food is mediocre at best. I got the burger with sautéed mushrooms and chili cheese fries and was disappointed by both. The cook on my burger was supposed to be rare and came out medium, the overall flavor was lacking in flavor with the exception of the mushrooms which should not be the main flavor of a burger but a highlight. The chili cheese fries were overly salted and greasy. All in all I cannot recommend getting this food if you go there. Might have had a better experience if I stuck with a dip or something else but for the burger and fries it was very disappointing.

Great service! Always a solid choice. Love the chicken tortilla soup. Even better with a soup salad combo. Easy parking. Clean facility. Lots of TV screens. Solid eatery with good prices and good food.

A staple in downtown Burbank for decades that has continued to survive and keep its relaxed and original vibe. Though from a food and service perspective, maybe it's time to upgrade that to current times. While I've always appreciated the island vibes and somewhat simpler menu offerings, it is no longer delivered with the same quality and consistency as before. As with many guests, the cheese fries are a must have, though as of late, the quality of the food has been lackluster at best. The fries have been overcooked, or the cheese has been burned twice to the point it's barely edible and questionable why it was even served seeing the dish. So not sure whether the simple recipe has changed or they just can't execute a simple appetizer of fries and cheese. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are good and have remained unchanged. While they can be messy with the sauces, the flavor is still there. Only issue in this aspect is they often don't cook the burger as requested. My last medium well burger had more pink than a medium version and was inconsistent throughout the patty, which was even more odd. While this place will continue to hold nostalgia over 2 decades of coming here, the visits seem to decline over the years as the price/service is no longer commensurate with the experience. As an extra sidenote, their rewards program is horribly clunky at best. You are supposed to scan a barcode on the receipt that is not even printed there and just trying to get points for your spend is almost more hassle than it's worth, yet after spending a couple hundred dollars here every few months, would like to get something back for my spend. Yet another point of what should be increasing business, causing more dissatisfaction.

Went here before a long weekend for lunch. I chose to select an item from the lunch menu - for me I selected the tacos. Its the same portion from the regular menu but for lunch its about $3 cheaper. My friend got the protein bowl - this was not on the lunch menu. Both meals were great. Our waiter checked on us several times was nice when we asked for more salsa and more sauce. Service is quick and fast, but you don't feel rushed out of there. You walk into Islands and definitely feel transported to that island life. While we didn't get it this time we have previous had a Mai tai or another one of their "island like" cocktails. Its always a fun time. While on a busy street, there is a free parking lot located behind the restaurant that you can park up to 4 hours.

Island's has what I think the wvat lunch time specials around. I was/still am super disappointed they took the chicken wrap off the lunch time menu, it was a staple, but they have quite a few other options that are all yummy and don't break the bank. Service is the only thing that is hit or miss, more miss that hit. You will usually see the same servers, but some of them are very disgruntled, and you can tell there is tension between the staff which makes it very uncomfortable. In any case, during my most recent lunch time visit, I ordered the patty melt with French fries and my friend out the turkey big wave with French fries. We also got the passionfruit iced tea, and as someone who doesn't normally like or go for iced tea anywhere, that is the only thing I drink at Island's, its that good. The food was good. I probably won't get the patty melt again since it was extremely oily, but I have had their Mediterranean bowl, mainlander salad and soup and salad combo and have loved all of those, which also happen to be far healthier and protein packed. I always like the decor and vibes at Island's, yoy literally feel liek youre at an island and instantly feel relaxed. There's a free parking garage attached with a couple levels which is very nice!

Wasted my dinner time driving an hour just for the to falsely advertise their happy hour deal. They did not support happy hour on a Tuesday night for their extended happy hour.

One of our family favorites. Something for everyone! I love visiting to see what special themed drinks are available. Islands is one of the only places where I rarely stray from my usual meal: Hawaiian Turkey Burger, add the Island Reds, salad instead of fries. Always so flavorful! I also crave the Tropical Iced tea when I'm there. Service is always good!

This location is nearby a couple of parking structures. The interior has a fun Hawaiian/tropical theme. The food arrives quick. The service was fine. You do get an option of wheat or white buns for the burgers. The patties can only be cooked down to medium. I got the hula burger. It was pretty good although the mushrooms seems overly seasoned. These burgers are usually big and they come with a good amount of fries. It should fill you up or leave you with leftovers. This definitely a safe spot to visit with family for a meal. It is a bit pricey but at least you get lots of food.

Great customer service, we came in on a Sunday and we were seated quickly, they accommodated our request for a booth which was nice , the manager Chris stepped in and took care of a minor complaint which was very professional, our waiter was attentive and so were all the employees, we had a great lunch with my family, the kids enjoyed their burgers and cheesey fries, the temp on my Maui burger was perfect, always a great time at Islands we will be back for great service.

Just finished my lunch now and the bar waitress is fantastic as always she's helped me twice I've been here and It's a good service experience for me. Thank you very much. Food is always good to me. I'll always go here and the Glendale location.

I came here on my birthday by myself. Ordered my usual burger and fries. Then for dessert got the Kona Pie. The service (Kaitlyn my server) was so awesome they put a candle on my pie. I went to Islands last year at a different location ordered the same exact thing and no candle. I just wanted to give a special shoutout to this location that made my day that much special. I'd come back here.

They have the best burgers and a very good menu for children. There are also table games for children while wating for food. My favorite burger is Hula and tortlla soup as a substitution for French Fry's. Their service is attentive and fast. The place is airy, comfortable and clean. It is our favorite place for Sunday lunch. Highly recommend!

My husband and I shared the Malibu burger and the Maui burger. They were both okay, we've definitely had better experiences in the porter ranch location. We were quite a big party but it wasn't that busy the night we came here for dinner. The chili fries were really good and great for sharing! The onion rings were good as well. I also got their mango and pineapple refreshers - super good and refillable!

We came to Burbank on a buisness matter It was lunch time, we like "Islands" We had our service dog with us. When we arrived the manager said " service dogs only " we said he is a service dog, proceded to sit us ... When our waitress arrived and we were ordering, we asked if they had Something we can order for our dog, ( many restaurants provide doggie bowls or grilled chicken and rice She said she didn't know, went to ask the manager, I think that's something she should had know !! Came back said there was nothing but could give us a bowl with water after once we were leaving .... Which she did once we paid and leaving. Very disappointing for animal lovers and service dogs !! He was such a good Boy he sat quietly under the table the entire time we sat and ate. I vote Lazy Dog !!!

Food quality and service are hugely inconsistent. Not worth the hassle of getting the right food and the bill was a mess. Our server billed us for someone else's food then changed the bill did two refunds. Too much creative math going on. My bank even contacted me to confirm this was a legitimate purchase. Too many other burger options for us to go back. Giving one star because I can't put zero.

Islands, 2007: Elephant Bar was across the street. A bustling Sears anchored the mall. I could have taken a blurry picture of my food with my pink Razr. Before earlier this year, I hadn't been to Islands Burbank since the late Aughties, but I'm happy to report it's still a fun spot for a burger. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after a movie at the AMC. There were plenty of families, but there was no wait, and we were seated in a quiet area by ourselves. We ordered the tropical drink flight - Deep Blue Sea, Mai Tai, Big Island Iced Tea, Ship Wreck. They were all delicious, and surprisingly (as I don't usually like Long Island iced teas), the Big Island Iced Tea was the best. We ordered burgers, the Malibu (bacon burger) and the Kilauea, which was a "jalapeño and black pepper-crusted patty" with jack cheese, chipotle aioli, and "Island Reds" - fried red onions. They gave me a Mauna Loa-sized heap of the Island Reds, most of which I scraped to the side. The spice-packed patty overpowered many bites of the burger with a dense peppercorn taste. Overall, it was a nice burger - a dollop of ketchup offset the peppery taste somewhat. Both sides of fries were hot and crisp, served with a thick, smoky BBQ sauce. We'd come back to try more menu items. So many chains have come and gone throughout downtown Burbank, but I'm glad this one is still there. Mahalo.

I stopped in for lunch with a fried from out of town and we really enjoyed our experience. There was plenty of parking at that time of day and we walked in and were seated immediately. My first impression was that the restaurant was very clean. Islands has a beach vibe and plays surfing videos on their TV's with a relaxed beach style music playing throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was awesome and took care to make sure we had a pleasant experience and everything we needed. The burgers were delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian which is my favorite! Messy, but always delicious. My friend ordered the Malibu and he was very impressed. This place is consistent and never let's me down. Keep up the good work! I will return!!! Enjoy!!! #jshoeats

We have not been here forever and decided to try this place. So much has changed for the good. We were able to get a Turkey burger rather than a beef burger. LOVE IT! there are no more refills on the fries but who needs the extra calories. Everything was perfect temperature. We will be back again. We were so hungry we forget to take pictures.

Magnolia Corner is a hidden gem! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend!

I have not gone to Island in years, the last time I was at one the fries did not come with the burger. So I sat at the bar and place looked clean, server came really quick and took my order. Just got the regular burger and fries, that came fast as well. The burger was ok, kind of dry but the bread was good( wheat ) plenty of toppings. The French fries were over cooked and the ranch dressing was cut with water... sad. Over all it was ok. It would be nice to get a better quality of meat and don't over cook the French fries.

Decent overall. Burgers are average. A lot of variety here so i guess thats fine. Fries are good. Lots of options on their menu.

We arrived for a late lunch on a Sunday and learned thereis All Day Happy Hour at the bar area, so we went there! There was a football game so it was a bit noisy, but we didn't mind. We both ordered 3 mini sliders with added cheese from the HH menu. We ordered regular fries from the main menu to share. We were both so impressed with the carmelized onions and crispy onions, pickles amd more on these sliders. This trio of mini sliders were around $8 each! They were quite filling so we took 1 mini slider home along with the leftover fries. Our server waa so attentive and had a great attitude! I noticed the other staff members were all smiling as they worked too! This team works well together! Bravo! Well Done!!!

Came to Islands for Friday night dinner because we were craving burgers. With the recent E. coli cases going around caused by onions, we were hesitating on getting them in our food. Our waitress Jada let us know that they are not serving onions AT ALL for the time being, just to be on the safe side. I appreciate the efforts made to ensure customers are safe and happy. The burgers were delicious and the fries were super hot and fresh. All of the extra sauces we asked for were brought in a timely manner. The restroom was clean, the tables were clean, and there was no wait time. Will come back :)

Eh? The food was okay, the fries were way better then the burger. But the service is fantastic, always making sure we are good even in a busy night. The ambiance of the restaurant is great u love the decor but yeah... maybe I'll just come back for drinks.

I like going to this location for happy hour. Prices are good and food is decent for happy hour. Service is friendly and attentive. They usually have sports playing in the bar area.

It was my first time at this location and I was not impressed. When we got there they sat our big party right away which was nice. Our server was not the friendliest and the service was very slow. The food was just ok. The fries were not hot and the burger had too much teriyaki sauce. The kids meal came out last after taking a while. I honestly was not impressed and probably won't come back. There is a free parking garage next door but that got crazy and crowded.

Sad to write this review of my precious Islands. Came here back in March after not having been here in 10 years and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was but I think that is because we went in the evening for a birthday dinner with a group. This time was for lunch on a Monday and boy was it bad. I don't know what happened but the food was so mediocre and overpriced. $18 for a burger that was just not good was pretty disappointing. The fruit side with the kids meal was a diced up teaspoon of pineapple. Their ranch was sour like it was just bad. Our server argued that it was the tangy buttermilk but come on when you know it's bad, it's bad! Some of the other items we ordered were ok but for what we paid I would have rather gone across the street to Wood Ranch. :(

We've been back twice since my last review to try different things. I have to say that our second time was by far the best time we've been here. I tried the big wave with cheese and no mustard with a side caesar salad. That was such a huge difference from the first visit. I enjoyed all of my meal. My daughter also enjoyed her big wave with fries but did comment that they were a little too heavy on the seasoning. My husband ordered a big wave with a veggie patty and no mustard and said the fries weren't great. Our third go around here was earlier today and I wanted to venture out beyond the big wave and I really should have stayed where I was comfortable. I ordered the hula burger and it was the most earthy thing I've ever had. There was also barely any mayo on it. I got a side of onion rings instead of fries and they were so over seasoned I couldn't eat them. That's where I will firmly stand to never venture beyond what you know you like here when it comes to their burgers and sides. My husband got another big wave with no mustard and loved it, he also said the onion rings were just okay and was very heavy on the seasoning. Also good here are the tiki tenders with honey mustard. Both times our service was top notch. Waitresses were on top of refills and got our orders right and were quick and pleasant. We will be back because their big wave and side caesar salad are pretty fab. I also want to try their tacos because I've heard good things.

This review hurts to write. Islands Burbank is one of favorite places to eat, sans tonight. I religiously order the same exact thing all the time. So much that the wait staff say my order along with me. I've always enjoyed the staff and especially the food but tonight the ball wasn't dropped as they never even picked it up. It was quite bewildering as it was a slow night with barely anyone in there, apparently I didn't get the memo to choose elsewhere to eat and spend my hard earned $$. Anyway, requested my usual to a the tee and received exactly what I didn't ask for. Simply put just make my food well done. I didn't order filet mignon at a burger spot so why can't a simple request be accomplished? I request my burger to be remade and then you would have thought they were looking for the farm animal to kill. I finally left completely still hungry and irritated that I had wasted my time here. No, hey let's make it right? They never even brought out the remade burger. My friend even asked, did they forget to even make your sandwich? Just nothing. I had to search the wait staff to then beg for my check so I could leave and go someplace else to get service and food. Maybe a nice long hiatus away from Islands will do the trick. Maybe I've invested way too much $$ to a restaurant that doesn't care to give you your basic request. Maybe the motto here, is that you can't have it your way but whatever way they choose to give it to you. Lesson learned and received.

Islands is a great experience! Attentive staff, good food, and reasonable prices for what you get. I like the veggie burger here too which is a good sign! Good fries too.

Beverly helped us tonight at dinner and it was the most amazing service! We had a party of 13 and we were met with friendliness, quick service, and such a nice ambiance! We had a great time celebrating a birthday, the food was delicious and came out very quickly! Thank you Beverly! You did amazing and we appreciate your service so much.

I used to go to islands all the time with family, my fiancée and I went the other night and the service was as I remembered . Very swift and the staff was very friendly also welcoming. The food did not disappoint at all either , enjoyed a burger with the famous cheese fries and that hit the spot with some good beers and good sports on the tv . I would definitely rate this location 10/10 and will be returning due to how great the service was . Good on ya islands thank you !

It was a lazy Sunday and we woke up late so we tried to scour all of Burbank because we knew no matter where we were going, we'd probably have to wait in line somewhere. Everything let's out close to noon or earlier so we were lucky. The only place we found that wasn't too bad was Islands. It's been several years so we decided to stop in. This place is huge so it wasn't until after we arrived is when the rush started. Whew! We made it just in time. The ambulance is always great at Islands. The staff is always so friendly and courteous. Sadly, this time, maybe they got a little busy and forgot about us. We were in the back area so maybe that was it. They were starting to get busy so I'm sure that's what it was. Today, we had the Hula Burger and the Fish Tacos. Their burgers are pretty big and their fries were cooked to the nice golden brown that anyone would love. Their Fish Tacos tasted great except I would suggest that they cook the corn tortillas a little longer. The corn tortillas were not on the grill long enough so they weren't soft. They tasted straight out of the package and tasted and felt like they were never placed on the flat top. Other than that experience, it was good. Our server made up for the non-warmed up tortillas but seriously, stick them in the microwave and at least warm them because that alone will really make a difference! Being our server, our drinks and most of our food was good, we'll be back. I'm not sure when but maybe in the summer. Maybe we just visited when their normal cooks were out. I won't get the tacos for our next visit but I'll definitely get one of their burgers or salads because those were delicious the last time we were here. For the price, the variety of food to eat, and the hospitality, we really can't complain.

Wow I cannot believe this is the first time I have been to this location! Islands used to be my favorite restaurant but I gave it up years ago when I went gluten free. I guess times have changed because they have gluten free buns now! :D I came in the other day and we were seated immediately. The sweetest waitress, Stormy, helped us. She was basically one of the most attentive waitresses I have ever had! When our drinks were about halfway empty she brought us filled drinks in new glasses and just set them on our tables so we could have them when we were ready. How amazing is that??? Plus, she was super nice, positive, knowledgeable about the menu and prompt with everything! Basically she made our experience an 11 on a scale of 1-10. How do we get this girl promoted? Jk I want to go back and to always have her serve us, so I hope she stays waitressing there for a bit! Parking is cake since they are literally next to the parking garage on the north side of Orange Grove. I can't wait to go back again. Our food was perfect, our drinks were perfect, and the bathroom was clean and looked very nice too. My only regret is that I did not get here sooner. We will be back again very soon I hope! Hopefully we will be there on a day that sweet Stormy is working. :)

Homey, casual Hawaiian burger joint. Great for families and a laid back meal! Came for lunch on a weekday, and everything was delicious! I got the Hawaiian burger (5/5), which came with sweet teriyaki sauce, pineapple, and the works. I thought it was just a little too sweet for being a burger, but the burger was huge and cooked a perfect medium. The burger came with a basket of fries, big enough to share. At lunchtime, there weren't very many people and the food came out super fast - probably about 15 minutes. Service was friendly!

My nieces wanted islands so island it was. I've been going here since I was a junior in HS. Always the cheddar fries, the hula burger for me. Was huge portions for the price and we always seem to get quick service with a smile, nothing compared to some of the other reviews. Thank you to the staff always for making our visit worthwhile! Our go to burger place. For a special burger treat this place always comes to mind. I always get their Hawaiian style burger with everything on it. So delicious and scrumptious. Makes my mouth water each time. Love this place.

Great food, friendly staff. Jade was our bartender, and she was fantastic! On a previous visit, Coco was at the bar, also wonderful! We like the interior look of this place, with its tropical flair. We'll be back soon. Highly recommended!

Terrible experience from start to finish. We ordered three hamburgers and an order of fish tacos. One burger came out wrong (guacamole instead of bacon), and another was raw in the middle (literally bleeding when it was supposed to be well-done). We sent those back to be corrected, but the replacement burger was raw again. Then, to make it worse, we were charged for four hamburgers. Apparently, if they cook it wrong and you ask for a replacement, you get billed for both! When we asked the waitress to review the check, she scoffed and said, "Wish you would've told me that before I ran your card." Not sure how we were supposed to know until we saw the check... We asked to speak with the manager, but he just stared blankly at us and had nothing to say. No apology, no attempt to make things right. I ended up refusing to pay for the burgers, but an apology would have gone a long way. The only positive was that they had the World Series on all the TVs. Go Dodgers!

We brought my parents here Friday night for an easy, wait-free dining experience. We all got burgers and fries (one with truffle sauce, delicious). We got a tasty flight of tropical drinks (my favorite was the Shipwreck), and my mom devoured a delicious Chile Mangorita. Wowsa, was it yummy! Dylan was our waiter, and he was attentive, knowledgeable, and was generally a kind, thoughtful person. The rest of the staff was very attentive, too. If there was an empty plate, someone whisked it away. I know there are lots of amazing restaurants in Burbank, but I have to say, Islands burgers are some of the best I've ever had. Their prices are fantastic, the fries are out-of-this-world, and their service is excellent. I'm so glad we have them in our neighborhood!

Had lunch with a friend this past Friday, and the food was really good, I can see why they were recently voted #5 in the best hamburger category. But what gets the 5th star is the service and our server. Caitlin was attentive but not intrusive, almost had a 6th sense of when we might need something. It was a 'catch up' lunch, so we spent almost 2 hours eating and chatting. Never did she make up feel that we would need to hurry up. She's amazing!!!!

This restaurant was fun. Our meals were delicious. The sandwiches, soup, rings, coffee and pineapple prickly pear aguas frescas were good. Dylan is very attentive and kind. Thank you. God bless you.

Food here is amazing. I came here a few weeks back as a dine in customer and the customer service and food was great. Today being Friday my job usually orders lunch for us. Today they chose Islands. I ordered the Hawaiian burger with cheddar cheese and fried egg and a side of sweet potato fries. I have attached a few of the pictures of my order. The food was delivered fresh hot and great! I love it here and will be back probably this weekend my burger was so good!
