They made me a couple of gluten free burgers by getting gluten free buns for my daughter n i and toasting them perfectly. I cant eat flour and I dont like protein burgers, so this was amazing for me
EDIT 11-6-2019 . I wanted to share a new updated experience. Today my daughter and I went to eat at Islands. Because she has a gluten allergy she (and I) doesnt eat much when we go there. We share a burger on a gluten free bun, and she gets a few cucumbers and tomatoes. Today the tomatoes were soft, rotten and a bit smelly. I complained and they of course went to the kitchen, and got new ones. They were fine. The new experience that happened was there was a "veggie dipper" charge of $1.05. It was the first time ever in the years I've been going there that's been charged to me. I'm fine with it, but after serving rotten ones, which I'm pretty sure they have abundances of, they charged us.i paid, didn't really complain about the $1.05, although with the gluten free bun it's now over $2. Ive always disagreed with a bun charge. If you want customers with allergies to be patrons, comprises by the resturants must be made. But that's clearly another debate. So this ISLANDS on Balboa has a new manager, Bobby is no longer at this Islands. Hes at a diff one.. anyway, on the way out, she came over to me and handed me a $15 complimentary gift card for our next visit there. The significance of this is it was unsolicited and above and beyond anything I deemed necessary. So way to go Islands! Thanks...
