Waiting was not long at all. Bar was full but great vibe. Our waitress was awesome helpful on tips and very nice. The food was brought in warm and in time. We didn’t have any issues hamburgers and fries were delicious 🤤. I would definitely come in again thank you!

We haven't been to islands for a while and it was awesome. I had the North Shore tacos husband had the Patty melts and all of it was delicious and hot. Definitely would recommend to go back

A great experience at Islands after over 2 years. Wait time was short, our server Chayla was fantastic and made great food suggestions. Comfortable and spacious booth with TVs to watch basketball. Carnitas Tacos were good but lacked meat, chicken burger had a well-seasoned breading and the fries were phenomenal. Kids enjoyed fresh pineapple quesadilla and Hawaiian burger. Ice-cold beer and perfectly poured margarita. Glad to return and thankful to Chayla for her excellent service.

Service is good. I was there with 2 client with walker, the waitress help us by holding the door. Food is good. Applexxx artichoke spinach appertizer still the best. Wing with teriyaki sauce is good. Fresh cut fried fries.

It's been about 10 years since the last time I have visited an Islands Restaurant and like the last it was very enjoyable. Islands is one of those special restaurants that transport you someone far away. You walk in the Hawaiian themes surrounds you giving you a feel of a relaxing get away, away from home. From the decor on the walls to the bamboo decorations to the parrots hanging from the ceiling. It truly is a very tropical and puts your mind at ease. Our waitress, Melissa was so awesome! Bubbly, spunky and very attentive. Just what you want in a waitress. All smiles, the whole time we were there. Making you truly feel like your special. Great job, keep up the awesome service. If only one day more people would be just like you. Now on to the reason you truly read the review for-The Food. Fabulous, in short. I had the crispy fried chicken sandwich with bacon and I even added the fried red onions (spectacular, who doesn't like a little extra crunch). I also asked for the truffle fries instead of regular. The chicken was crispy, perfectly cooked. The bun was excellent with just enough golden tones to it. The truffle fries were covered in truffle oil and parsley parmesan flakes with a truffle aioli duping sauce. I do have to say it was quick favorable and rich, but I was only able to eat a few because it was so rich. My sons had the pineapple crispy chicken and my husband had the fish tacos. Both sons loved it and my husband said it was quite good, but he wished it would have had a salsa to go with it it would have been perfect. Normally, I don't go for desert, but my kids talked my husband into getting the Oreo milkshakes and then I saw the lava cake. I had to try. The lava cake was basically just a chocolate brownie with fudge and vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and cherries. My husband and I both split it and it was very good. At the end of the meal, our waitress cleared our plates and made sure we had everything we wanted, including boxes. In all, it was a great time with great people and great food. Thank you to all the staff that made this meal so good! Until we meet again. Oh at the end, my daughter did a funny little jig. I hope you enjoy!

First time back to Islands after more than 20 years and it was such a great time. The wait wasn't bad for a Friday night, 10 minutes or so. Chayla was our server and she was FANTASTIC!! Her food suggestions were great and her service was second to none!! Everybody that approached our table was very pleasant and willing to assist. The booth we sat in was comfortable and spacious. They have TVs so we watched some basketball with dinner. For dinner, I had the Carnitas Tacos and they were pretty good, lacking meat for my liking. The chicken burger was covered in a very well-seasoned breading. The fries were phenomenal. My kiddos had a quesadilla with fresh pineapple and believe me, it was FRESH! And a Hawaiian burger which looked very good as well. My beer was ice cold and tasty, my wife ordered a margarita which was poured perfectly! I'm glad that we came to try Islands again. First and foremost our server was great. The young lady was named Chayla and she did an excellent job of taking care of us. She was kind, courteous, and very attentive. Hope her manager sees this and recognizes that they have awesome employee, and by recognizes I mean give her a bonus or raise, not just verbal praise. +Food was tasty and filling. +Service was excellent, bar far some of the best I have seen of recent memory. +Pricing was reasonable. +Location was clean. +Ample parking. - Nothing to gripe about, enjoyed my meal here and would be happy to eat here again.

Islands in Orange is fantastic! I arrived with a friend after 8pm, they close at 9. We struggle to make it to a place to eat after 8pm on a weeknight. Our server was George and he is just the best! He helped us with our orders and chatted us up. He has worked at the same Islands for 22 years. That just never happens. It tells me that they treat him right! The Dodger game was on, which also made me happy. Their fries are the best! I will definitely go back and let people know that even after 8 on a weeknight, they were happy for us to be there. It really felt like lots of people were enjoying the game and having a fun meal instead of rushing to be done by 9.

Flies everywhere!! Love this place but every time I'm sitting at the bar all I see are flies flying everywhere. Even the bartender has to shoo them away. They need one of those insect buzzers. Check it out. Guarantee you I'm not kidding. Otherwise, the staff and food are amazing!

We have been coming here for literally decades. Came here as OHS HS Students & now continuing as an alumni. Jorge is our go-to server. He's amazing, personable. Loves & takes care of his customers. The food is delicious! Everything we've tried is mouth watering. Love the tropical theme all around, how many can you spot?

The food and the drinks were amazing. But even more, our server George was great! He suggested amazing drinks and made sure we were taken care of! The food came fast and he always checked back with us and made sure we were comfortable. Had a few great convos with him. Very personable! The place was comfortable and clean. Thank you George!

My son loved his Big wave and I did too. Great food specials and happy hour looked fun. Service was quick. Place is spacious. The interior could use a good deep cleaning but based on my meal the burger was cooked nicely.

Stopped by islands for an early dinner with my son. His car was at Toyota of orange for service and I was on my way to Santa ana for an appointment. He ordered a burger, he suffers from celiac disease so he needs a gluten free bun which islands provides. I wasn't very hungry so I settled on the chicken tortilla soup. Our meals were delivered quickly, served hot, and tasted good. Typical fast casual atmosphere, table service by a friendly waitress named Chloe. She checked on us several times and offered to give us refills in a to go cup for our drinks. I will return.

Love islands for all the different food and even though we live closer to a different location this one was very good and between our lovely server Kealia and the cooks working last night they not only got every order correct but was served with care and cooked perfectly to everyone's order and we had a party of 10 so Kealia thank you very much for your professionalism and accuracy. We will definitely be stopping here again should we be in the area. Great job everyone!!

Fun atmosphere. Beach vibe. Great food choices. Service was slow yet it wasn't busy. Bar included. I will say it's disappointing to ask which side you want to- suggest options and when you get your check there is an additional charge for substituting a side. Please be upfront if there are additional charges and state what is included.

Burger was solid. Islands is a favorite. Service was quick and great. Great location cool staff!

Very friendly people and the food is great. My favorite is the bleunami! The fries are great and my favorite drink is the passion fruit iced tea.

First time visiting this location. (Manhattan Beach is our normal location). However being a huge Islands customer, we definitely appreciated the traditional aesthetic of the restaurant and for tiki lovers you will appreciate a certain tiki mask they have on the wall. The female bartender was excellent and very friendly and attentive. Food was great, came for happy hour. (However spinach dip is the same price and half the amount, not very cool Islands). Just an overall good Islands and will definitely be back! Visited on 8/24/25.

Every once in a while comfort food just hits the spot. But then I got distracted with the latest menu changes...enter the burger bowl. It was good, but the patty was WELL done and it needed onions. Stole some fries from husband, but didn't eat too many they were burnt crispy ends. Things that remind me why I don't visit Islands more often.

I am always extremely satisfied and content whenever I come to islands. This time specifically was outstanding. The manager Tara was super friendly and helpful and made an effort to connect with guests. Ellie who brought my food out made sure that I had everything I needed and made sure I was taken care of. My server was quick and was also extremely helpful and made sure I was taken care of. The food is always well made, I highly recommend the long boarder with grilled onions!

I used to love coming here. I came on a Saturday afternoon, not very busy and we had to ask for them to take our order, to bring us refills. They never once checked up on us after the order came

During my visit, there was an error on my bill that the manager helped correct. I had ordered from the happy hour menu and had both visual and verbal confirmation that the waitress, Nikki, knew this, but one of my items was initially charged at the regular price instead of the happy hour price. From the beginning, the interaction felt awkward and dismissive; instead of acknowledging the mistake and offering to help, Nikki repeatedly seemed defensive. At the table, she said she 'just put it in the system and that's what it came out,' and I still had to walk back to show the pricing mistake before receiving the revised receipt. If it had been just a few dollars, I wouldn't have cared, but the overcharge was substantial, about 25% higher than expected. I appreciate the manager stepping in to resolve the issue, and I hope this feedback helps improve staff training and customer service in the future.

Music is way too loud during evening hours. I couldn't even hear what the people at our small table were saying. Food was good and served fairly quickly given how busy they were.

Customer service could use improvement. Went in around 3 pm on a Monday, not too many customers in at this time. We saw our food ready and sitting for a few minutes before we got it. Burger over cooked, hair in fries, had to remind waitress for ranch twice. We had had 4 orders of fries at our table, most were crumbs. Definitely will not return to this location. Worst experience I've had at an Islands.

I haven't been to Islands in forever but man am I glad I came back! Dropped in the other day and sat at the bar. It was Monday night football with a pretty decent crowd and just one bartender. Kelly was her name and she was crushing it! Not only did she handle drinks and food for the people at the bar but she was taking care of the tables around us as well. I used to work in restaurants so her work ethic really shined in my eyes. I got some wings, the spicy Kilauea, and a very refreshing mojito. Food was great, drinks were awesome, and service was even better. Thank you Kelly for making islands a great experience, I will definitely be back.

The New Kilauea bowl, has so much pepper it is almost uneatable. I like the idea of the bowls, ask for well done and I know the pepper jalapeños burger bowl does have black pepper however the 'black pepper' is over the top and overwhelming on the burger barely tolerable.

We gave Island's another try tonight! Friday night was pretty packed with families. Our server was was attentive and checked in on us although it was quite busy. The restaurant seemed exceptionally loud tonight, but again it was likely the families and kids all around. Personally I feel that Island's quality of food has gone downhill over the years.. I tried the Kilauea burger, it was overly salted and didn't have much flavor. The crispy onions were also lacking, flimsy and underwhelming. Their fries are also lacking, though the onion rings were great. Their desserts are delicious we've tried both the hula pie and chocolate lava cake and both are delicious. Personally I think California's most popular fast food burger chain is a better option if you are craving a burger and fries, but I will let you decide for yourself! Stop in and give them a try.

So, I came here after my shift to just relax and get something good to eat. They asked for my ID which is fine, ( even tho they were rude about it ) the manager check my ID TWICE and I even asked him to just have a police here if he doesn't believe it if it's not my Real ID. I was confirmed to be AT THE AGE OF THE ALCOHOLIC DRINK, I wasn't recoding his face but just the conversation and he took that up the rear and decided to deny me. He Checked my ID TWICE, and he confirmed for it to be at the age. I think he just likes the taste of power cause I've never had this issue this bad at this restaurant

There burgers are really good. The platinum margaritas are even better! Service is always good here.

I wanted to provide an update for this restaurant. The manager got in touch with me and was super professional. I went back in last week and everything was fine. Seating and service were efficient and food as usual was great. Thank you to the management team for replying to message.

Burgers may be good at Islands, but have you ever tried their cheddar fries? SO GOOD! It's been my family's go to appetizer since my daughter was in 2nd grade (she is now a junior in high school lol). We absolutely love Island's. Since as long as I can remember, it's been my daughter's celebratory spot for so many of her birthday's, accomplishments, etc. Cheddar fries are a must. Daughter and I usually order cheddar fries, split a burger, and end up bringing the burger leftovers home. Just last night, we came to Islands. We decided to skip our on burgers and shared a milkshake with cheddar fries instead. Cheddar fries always on point. Their milkshake was also so good! We personalized by making it an Oreo shake (ask them and you shall receive). It had all the right flavors without being so thick you have to fight to take a sip. We were originally planning to share a butter cake as well, but got so full from our fries. Islands will always be a staple family favorite restaurant, as it holds so many childhood memories of my daughter growing up. This particular Islands wait has been a little off lately to be honest, but our server was very nice. Will definitely be back sooner than later

I'm a fan of Island's. It's one of the few chain burger places I enjoy. The tiki surfer theme isn't really my aesthetic or type of ambiance, but I stay for the food. For this particular location, they're very short staffed, so I usually go on the weekdays so I can be seated. Busy hours and times can give you long wait times. Do plan accordingly and exercise patience. During lockdown, we ordered delivery at this location all the time. Food was always fresh and our order was always correct. My go to is usually the Hula burger - they make a badass mushroom / Swiss burger. For this particular location, the burgers tend to be larger in portion than other islands that I have gone to. The fries are the best - very crispy and have a nice kick of seasoning!

My cousin and I had gone in this past Friday and it was her first time. She really enjoyed it there said she loved the food and atmosphere. I'm glad. BUT our server, George was his name. He was amazing. I kid you not. As today is Monday and I still had to make sure to write this review. He was very personable and attentive to our dining needs. He'd make sure we had all we needed and would come back to ask if our meal was going well and ask if we wanted refills without us having to wait around to have them refilled. He was very nice and his personality was so positive. Which we loved. It makes one's dining experience much more Enjoyable when you are waited on with a person such as George. Oh and even more so, as we were leaving, we heard him yelling out to us and he came running out of restaurant with my phone in his hand! Lol. That's me. Forgetting things all the time Thank you for all you did George. Appreciated it.

It has been a little while since I've eaten at Islands and I just wanted to give a shoutout to Jorge for his attentiveness, fun personality, and excellent service! Thank you for being such a wonderful server and making tonight a fun experience!

This was my first time at Islands, the salad was yummy and the onion rings! The drinks were good too! Had the best service by George. Can't wait to go back!

I want to give a shout out to Kaelia, she was so awesome and kind , and very nice smile. It was quite busy when we got there but she made it possible in less than 10min. Definitely coming back !

Islands has been my favorite hamburger location for over 35 years. I have always received excellent, 5 star service at this location. Our server, Jorge (who goes by George), was such a standout that I had to write a review. He is super friendly and sincere, not fake. He took great care of us and is so warm and likable that Islands is lucky to have such a wonderful asset. Thank you for everything George!

Raine is the most amazing host ever, she was a host, she was so sweet, super respectful, she asked us if ever needed anything periodically checked in on us even as a HOST which was awesome, the food was also so good, would come again :)!

Place was a bit busy, our server Angela was amazing. Although she had her hands full always come back with a smile and was very attentive. Food was on point, place was clean, tv had the games going. What else could we ask for. Thank you Angela for your Great service we will be back soon.

I ordered the Beach Bowl with fish. But there wasn't any edamame, and all vegetables weren't cooked. Does this bowl come without cooking vegetables? There was a sweetener bag inside my iced tea. I asked them to change. While we were eating, they never came to ask how the food. And no iced tea refill until we requested. It was terrible food and service.

My dinner was great - I love the chop chop salad. A fantastic summer dinner. We had our favorite server, Jorge, who always makes our dining experience wonderful. He is friendly and efficient and very personable. I highly recommend this location.

I think Brandon does a really good job bar tending making the drinks and serving the drinks and food to the customers and he is so polite and friendly to the customers

Took our server about 10 minutes to greet us, we placed our drink order and food order at the same time and asked for her to bring pineapple for my toddler. Had to ask a second time and then when we tried the pineapple, it was gross. Food took so incredibly long to come out. Server said there were new cooks tonight. Fries came out cold, burger buns were burnt, burger was charred and not good. I haven't had this terrible of an experience at a restaurant in a long time. I'm sure our server was busy and doing everything she could with what disaster it seemed to be. You could definitely tell everyone around us was getting antsy waiting for their food. It was literally way too long to wait for food to come out. I've noticed each time we go, there seems to be a group of servers, food runners, or bussers that are always on their phone and just standing around and chatting. Tonight was definitely not the night for that. A manager should have come out and touched tables and apologized for the service tonight.

The food is good, the children were happy with their meal, the service was just perfect.

Today was my birthday, i turned 21 and had a blast. George the server did an amazing job we felt comfortable he was quick. The Best 100%

Spent 85 dollars here recently and boy, it's gotten a lot worse since the last time I was here. Food quality has massively gotten worse, the bowls taste like reheated frozen meals, the tacos are... basically just cobbled together ingredients without cohesion or form. Super disappointed.

I got the beer flight. Just to try them out. They were really good. It gave me different options. And they were really good. In my opinion I really enjoyed the Mango IPA. That was really delicious. I love the flavor of mango. So I'll have to be biased on this. And I'd like to thank the server/Bar tender Alex. She did an amazing job. She's really friendly and really attentive. Which is good. Because that is what I look for when I order. It was a good experience. I enjoy coming here. Thanks you Alex.

Ate here for the first time and had a great experience. It was a busy night and we had a large party of 13 (with 8 kids!) but George our server was awesome. The food was all pretty good - will definitely be coming back!

Big Kahuna Burgers! That's that Hawaiian burger joint. I hear they've got some tasty burgers. I ain't never had one myself, how are they? Well, as much as I'd love to go to Pulp Fiction's fictional Big Kahuna Burgers, I had to settle for a local chain burger with a similar theme. Islands has never disappointed me with service, food quality, and cleanliness over the years. Ordered the Longboarder with the regular fries, and some wings. Tasty burger, tasty wings. Melissa was our server and she was pretty attentive. When she first came to our table, she said..... Hello Friends! That still sticks in my head. I feel we should invite her over for Thanksgiving. The only thing that I would say is a con, would be their happy hour pricing rules. In order to take advantage of their happy hour pricing, you must order and I assume, you must stay in the bar area. I didn't care for that. Definitely recommend this place for a good burger!

Went here for happy hour 3pm ish. I got their nachos (huge amt of chips with like a canned / premade salsa). - Would have been nice with freshly made salsa Wasn't too hungry so ordered off the child's menu. - Cheese burger (cooked to what I requested, extra pickles and onions, and well done) - Came with a side of fries (TOO MUCH SALT, I could barely eat them); ask for ranch to dip them in The bottomless drinks were great. - Best was the fruit punch (Pink lemonade and ICED T's were ok) Service was pretty good. - My 1st waitress got into a convo with her co worker so it took awhile - But later someone else took over and they were really dialed in, and got me everything I needed ASAP The place was very very clean. Even the bathrooms. Great to do dine in. Very nice chill vibe there.

After checking out a nearby Fall/ Halloween craft show my GF and I decided to grab a quick bite at Islands. We both ordered the patty melt with fries on the lunch menu. First time ordering off the lunch menu. The patty melt was okay but nothing to write home about. Our server Chayla was a delight and her great personality made our experience a great one. I wish all servers would take a lesson from Chayla. She is amazing !

After quality service twice in a row with our guy, Jorge I had to take to the reviews section. He is THE best waiter. He is friendly, accommodating, and goes the extra mile for his customers. He even remembered us, the occasional weeknight drop in. The Hula burger was BACK on the menu, our favorite and the endless tortilla soup is the best on the block. Get yourself some Islands!! ‍

phenomenal service everytime i come and im a regular also they have a very attractive waiter who treats us with great spirit every time we come! #bussy #daddy but....not everything is perfect as the movies....the water was stale and disgusting...but i'll let it go

I love Islands hamburgers, but it's the people who work there that make the experience! Several times I've seen Rae and she is so happy and considerate every time. She is helpful and accommodating, and really understands customer service. Thanks Rae!
