Islas Del Caribe - Review - Flagami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Islas Del Caribe is mostly a Honduran restaurant. But the casual spot in Flagami also makes fettuccine alfredo, Colombian empanadas, and steak and eggs. Don’t get distracted with the non-Honduran dishes (except the empanadas, definitely order those). You’re coming here for the $5 baleadas con carne, which are some of Miami’s best. It arrives with a jar of spicy house sauce that gives this economical baleada a good kick." - Mariana Trabanino

The server was very nice. Tried to help a gringo. The food was ok. Maybe I’m not familiar enough with Honduran cuisine. It was quite salty, but I’m not a salt lover, so, might be ok for many. Lots of onions. Salad is ok. Beans and rice was a little bland for me. Even with hot sauce. Atmosphere looks fun if your like futbol.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how amazing the experience was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a family dinner. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. Now, let’s talk about the food… I ordered the carne asada, and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned, grilled to perfection, and incredibly tender. Every bite was full of flavor, and it was clear they use high-quality ingredients. My family ordered a variety of dishes, and we were all impressed—there wasn’t a single plate that disappointed. It’s not easy to find a place that gets everything right, but this one truly delivered on every level. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll be back. Highly recommend! And my waiter was this women named angelina she had very good service and was very sweet and kind.

I had the sopa de res, it was ok, the sopa was light in flavor, a little more in the vinegary taste. The rice was ok, I like the rice to be grainy and more on the dry side. Theirs was moist. The service was good. I will be back but probably not for the sopa de res.

Excellent small establishment run by the Chef Willie and his wife Marisol. Great menu for such a quaint place. Excellent customer service and very friendly. The chef is Honduran and has great Italian cooking experience. The Baleada is a giant tortilla with beans cheese and your choice if meats and cream. You can't leave here without a new-found favorite. We came here after morning mass and had the place to ourselves for breakfast...oh you can order anything on the menu for bfast. I had whole fried snapper - delicious

Google
This is definitely a hidden gem, serving very delicious food from Central America at a reasonable price. The ambiance is festive on weekends and the atmosphere is on point. I enjoy taking my entire family because of their expanded menu serving delish appetizers, house drinks, and numerous dishes that will have you come back for seconds and thirds. Always more than a pleasure to dine there; it’s my #1 spot.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this local restaurant! Very authentic and affordable Latin/ Honduran cuisine. Comfortable hole in the wall atmosphere. Husband even received a beer on the house courtesy of the owner! Will definitely return when back in the area!

Yelp
Hole in the wall with amazing food, music, and service! After a late flight into Miami, I needed something to eat. I stumbled upon this restaurant on Google. You go around back to enter and as I arrived I could hear the music playing-Saturdays are karaoke night. I was immediately greeted and sat and the staff was very accommodating and kind as they helped me navigate through my broken Spanish. I was a little confused by the menu at first but I settled for my favorite vacation meal-Pot Fish. The fish was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and hot. The best thing of all was the orange salsa-it was so surprising because it had onions and carrots in it but it was the perfect blend of spice and season. I wished I could bottle it up and take it with me. There was a great vibe, great drink specials, and plenty of live music. The only thing I didn't like was there was an additional charge to pay by card. Other than that, 10/10

Yelp
This place should not be operating a food business. The tacos de pollo tasted like eating bubble gum. The baleada was average and a tad bit cold. The service was non existent. It's like water or manners don't exist. The waitresses prefer to hang at the front counter and when you ask for water they look at you like you insulted them. To top it all off they add a $3 charge for using a credit card. It would be nice if they told you that at the start. Stay away from this place unless you like bad food and bad service. The only thing that could make this place better was if it didn't exist. Atrocious experience.

I sincerely loved this place ! Good fun spot, security at the door and karaoke where everyone joins in. We had a sampler type plate (huge) and a bucket of coronas. Def a good spot for fun night out for Spanish music and fried food ! Would def return

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place. They serve delicious food from all over Central America. The service is very friendly and professional, I always feel welcomed here. The ambiance is very traditional and it will take you back to your roots. Visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This restaurant just opened up and I am always looking forward to eating good typical Honduran food. The restaurant is small but what matters to me is the food and service, both were exceptional for a small nook in the wall. My kids loved their baleadas and I loved the Ceibeño. I definitely see myself coming back, specially for the baleadas.

Yelp
This is kind of a hole in the wall spot, but the staff is very attentive and friendly. And most importantly, the food is plentiful and delicious.

Yelp
Great Honduran food ,awesome drinks . Cheap and affordable prices . Please keep in mind this place might not be the " the right place to bring your whole family for dinner on Saturday night as servers focus more on offering alcoholic drinks . Overall , we had a good time eating there .

Yelp
We have eaten here twice and loved it both times. My wife's favorite is the chicken penne pasta in vodka sauce. Mine is the platter with grilled beef, chicken and shrimp. We always order double French fries, as they are fantastic too. Friendly and helpful staff!

Yelp
This place is Honduran but the food is not that great. I don't think I would go back lol

Yelp
I love this restaurant! Very small and cozy great service and the food is exquisite! I've been to many Honduran restaurants but this one is definitely on my top favorites. Also met the owners son he was very humble and nice and gave us all the run down of the place. If you're in the area this place is a must! Ps. The baleadas and steak ceibeño are FIRE!!! And best of all very affordable!

Yelp
This place is absolutely exceptional. Was in the area and just looking for a bite to eat. Read the reviews on here and they were all good so I said eh what the hell. By far the most delicious place ever. I got the Lomito Salteado and it was amazing. Highly recommend

Yelp
I went here 4 days in a row since it was by my hotel. I ordered something different everytime and it all was above my expectations. Staff was very nice & attentive. Amazing flavor and prices. When I visit Miami I will visit again.
