New York style pizza. The other non-Dominos places on Solano are Chicago style. Nice folks. I like to sit in front of the window and watch people walk on Solano.

Friendly atmosphere on Solano ave, friendly staff. Customer bathroom. Avoid lunch time because school kids frequent this spot, families come mostly in the evening. The wait for your pizza is anywhere from 4-7min, so a short wait. The crust is a nice bonus, if you've got the belly gobble that crust. They have recycle and compost bins near the soda fridge. There's a slice and drink combo, I always recommend. The pizza is great for the value, portion and area, there's a deep dish pizza restaurant further down Solano if you want to spend a bit more and want the social scene and ambience. This is better than Dominoes, also further up Solano in the opposite direction, Dominoes is still good and they have a great crew. This is the healthy and affordable middle of those two. And they have indoor dining. Please clean up after yourselves, this is run by a nice family.

Google
On vacation in Berkley CA and found this place walking around on our first night in town. Like most places downtown, it is cozy and has that inner city vibe. Not really a sit down pizzeria but a cool place to grab a slice of tasty and thin crust, NY style, pizza. Tonight our slices were meat lovers and NY (sausage, pep and mushrooms). Pizza was tasty, enough sauce and toppings and although my crust was a burned on the edges, it wasn't enough to keep me from finishing it. There was a bit of confusion on the order and we ended up splitting a lunch special but it was enough that we will return later. Overall, I would easily recommend this place if you need a quick snack or to have a craving for NY style.

So we’ve been ordering from this place before and it was good, but today we ordered again and it was awful- the crust was totally different, hard and thin and flat, reminded me of a bad stale flatbread that is super hard and dry. I called to ask if they changed t he recipe and said no. So I’m really frustrated with the fact that I waited for 2 hours for this to be delivered and it was soooo bad.

Google
Best thin crust I've found in east bay; close to my favorite place in NYC when I lived in Manhattan years ago. You can't beat da deal of 2 slices AND a drink for just under 10 bucks.

Islice Pizza is an excellent pizza place located in Albany, California. Known for its awesome pizza, Islice offers a delicious and satisfying dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Islice Pizza is a must-visit destination for pizza lovers in Albany and the surrounding area.

Google
Solid slice of pizza. I tried the Long Island style pizza. They included plenty of meat in terms of toppings and I was satisfied with the value. I also liked that it was tasty even as I arrived closed to closing time.

Google
After living in the bay area for 3 years I had given up hope on ever finding good pizza. I was wrong. This place is AMAZING. They have the best plain cheese slice a girl could ask for. Very New York in a very good way.

Yelp
Very good Green Vegetable pizza. Great bang for the buck! You'll enjoy this pizza

Yelp
Passed by this pizza spot at 8:05pm and decided to give it a try since not many pizza places do by the slice. Got 2 pep slices to go and asked to make sure they were still open since they looked like they started closing and cleaning up shop. Worker assured us they were still open and proceeded to warm our slices. Checked on yelp and turns out they were closed at 8pm and felt so bad (yes we tipped extra for staying open late for us). Worker gave us our food and we were on our way. Didn't even make it to the freeway and the slices were devoured. Such thin crust and the pepperoni had a good bite to it! The crust! Didn't have time for a pic

Yelp
Got my pizza and it was all burnt really disappointed. Waited almost 40 min and had to cook instead waisted money and time.

Yelp
Clean and efficient Islice sells New York style pies and by the slice. Flavors are traditional but they also have vegetarian and vegan toppings. A specialty slice is large about the length of 1.5 hands (lol) and costs $5.40 ($6ish with tax) . Slices are heated up per order . Appreciate how the Parmesan is kept in the fridge Recommend This location for a quick bite on the run

Yelp
iSlice makes a good pizza for the price point they are at. You should give it a try. But the best deal in the house is on the calzones. They are like a folded up pizza in the shape of a football. The chicken and garlic is the way to go. Its only $11.45, which is very affordable for the amount of food you get. The service here is good. Nothing over-the-top, but good retail customer service. The ambiance here is middle of the road. There's a huge American flag on the wall, which is great to see around election season. UPDATE: iSlice is now open in Walnut Creek. They just opened a new store there.

Yelp
This is run by such a nice family. My youngest loves to stop here after school. They are always kind.

Yelp
I can sum iSlice up in two words: first, it's pizza, and second, it's hot. Other than that, a store-brand pizza like Red Barron or DiGiorno will work just as well. I'm not one of those transplant snobs who believe that the best pizza can only be found in New York. Many great pizza joints exist in the Bay Area, including the East Bay, but this isn't one of them. I'll have to group iSlice with Zachary's and Cheeseboard as places that claim to serve excellent pizza but actually don't. Hmmm, I may be one of those pizza snobs after all ... BB
google avatar

Tristan T.

Yelp
While certainly no Zachary's or Airnell's, the pizza here is not bad, just not great, kinda mediocre. Costco pizza is better. I do like the combos that they have like 2 slices and get a free can of soda or pizza and a salad and soda. Seems like your typical $1.00 a slice NY type pizza place except the slices are not $1.00.

Yelp
I bought a slice but didn't leave a tip. I took a couple bites and there was hair in the pizza. Not going back. Ick

Josue M.

Yelp
This is my first time here going for lunch. I ordered a cheese pizza and Hawaiian pizza slice. Soon I received this was very lazy of the employee to just use a cheese pizza and through pineapple and ham on it then cook it again. Never coming here again, would rather spend my money elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
I went here on a Friday night, it wasn't busy so it was perfect timing and decided to try out their calzones from the menu. I ordered the supreme calzone and it was a big portion I can tell you that. Especially dipping in the marinara sauce, it was delicious. I'd come back and try out their pizza slices. Street Parking is free, and tables are displayed outside for sitting.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Consistently great pizza and fast delivery. Get your pizza there! Pepperoni pizza is recommended and Hawaiian pizza is my favorite! On Solano Ave. In Albany!

Yelp
Not a huge pizza fan but I must admit this place has one of the best pizzas. I went there with my coworker after work. The place wasn't crowded. You can choose to dine indoor or utilize a little outdoor table. We were welcomed by the staff immediately after our admission. They were polite and willing to explain the menus to us. Price is not too bad either.

Yelp
Solid family-owned, NY-style pizza joint. If that doesn't draw you in, the scent of fresh-baked pizza honestly will. Every time we walk by their shop on Solano, my bf and I always look at each other and debate heavily if eating pizza midday is worth the afternoon crash. Well, one day, it finally was................. For COVID safety purposes, staff/patrons must wear masks, and hand sanitizer is provided. Their store is small, cramped even-- the way their tables and storage are oriented feel extremely claustrophobic. I'd recommend taking to-go. MUSHROOM PIZZA: Excellent thin crust and cheese-topping ratio. Minimal sauce, but the toppings speak for themselves. VEGGIE PIZZA: Ditto. Super fresh! CANNOLI: Lowkey...... Disappointing.............. Both the shell and ricotta are way too dense, and the filling tastes stale. And doesn't meet at the center (literally empty in the middle). Not great. Very reasonable prices, and the family running the shop is always so sweet.

Yelp
They always undercook the pizza. By east coast standards, its a little below the level of a Papa Gino's chain. It seems like it was made by people who dont have any background with good pizza, or discovered it as adults or something. My best guess is that they are cooking at way too low of a heat, because the undercrust is dead white and flabby, hanging down when you pick it up. And cheese on top is so undercooked that its completely white, gummy and barely above room temperature. You should NOT be able to discern the outlines of the uncooked shreds! Cheese is supposed to be FULLY MELTED and have some variation in texture with golden brown spots. I honestly wonder if theyve got a chef who's lactose intolerant and doesnt understand what to aim for There are so many places that make outstanding pizza, its just too bad none seem to be located in the east bay. California, do better! ETA I just read the description up page and it looks like they started in Denver, which could explain the uncanny valley effect. Authentic east coast pizza is not about "herbs and spices" in the sauce - this isn't KFC. A good NY pizza is very much about texture: the cheese pull, the crispness and softness of the crust, and the amount of sauce used. Thats why shops run the pizza ovens at suc high temperatures

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. We went for a walk at point Isabelle and took my 8 year old and his friend. We wanted some pizza but I didn't want to take them inside anywhere. So we stopped at Islice. The boys both got a slice, chips and a soda. I got the meat combo slice and my husband got the Brooklyn and the New York. The cheese is local and the pizza is thin and crispy. Being able to pick up a slice and eat it outside on solan and people watch was nice. Reasonable prices and everyone left happy. Solid stream of people.

Yelp
Went to the city, and was hungry midway through my drive back home. I was feeling some pizza, so I stumbled across Islice. I've never rlly tried New York style before, so I gave it a try this day. I ordered a long island and a veggie, it came with a drink. The service and food was amazing, I got filled up and the portion size was excellent. They were really nice and I will definitely will be coming here a second time.

Yelp
Absolutely love the margarita pizza. Have not tried other pizzas. Good prices for 18" pizzas. Quality is consistent. Support local businesses There was a 2 slices for $8 including drinks.

Leonard T.

Yelp
I remember paying 25.cents for a slice growing up in New York. OK theNeapolitan N.Y. Slices are a little thin though the taste of the pizza is quite nice. They should be at 4.95 a slice. with deals if you buy two or more with a canned soda they might go a little lower then that. The people who work here or and own it are very good and there are no complaints to wait there chugging down a slice or two waiting for my ride to show up. Everything has changed though the taste of New York Pizza remains the same. I recommend this place for those wanting a taste of the New York past in a thin sliced pizza. Lots of other things on the menu to try sometimes. Best Wishes to the good people at ISlice.slices

Yelp
I love their calzone. It was so good. This place was a good find. I got pizza somewhere else when they were closed and it was the pits. This is my new go to! Love it
google avatar

Yelp
Not very good pizza. It's kind of expensive while also not being much food. It's crazy, but if you fold the whole thing up into a single slice, it would be about as much food as a single Philly cheese steak. I don't know if that's a good thing about cheese steaks, but it's definitely a bad thing about this pie. You can share it with up to 2 other people, but you'll all just be disappointed and have the roof of your mouths cut... so dry... so flavorless... it's just not good. Also, needed to be noted here is the total lack of sauce. I don't know how much sauce is needed to make something a pizza and not just cheese bread, but this is dangerously close to the edge. I actually saw way more grease than sauce, so maybe they got confused while making the pie and just ladled grease on the crust by mistake. TL;DR: Bad. Maybe just get a cheese steak somewhere else.

Yelp
This place is simply wonderful. It's not gourmet like say Gioia Pizza, but it's better than Little Star and Zachary's on the same street, and that's saying a lot. It's reasonably priced and serves a tender, chewy thin crust pizza with great flavors and ingredients. The cheese/sauce/crust ratio is well balanced. For our Wednesday pizza nights, if we want something reliably good, this is our place. Isn't having a reliable, local pizza sometimes all we really need in our pizza-popping existence?

Yelp
This is a great NYC style pizza joint. Small, no nonsense, super quick, and CHEAP! We picked up two slices and split a soda, and we were out the door for $7 and some change. Given the prices of food in general, and in particular in the Bay Area, these guys should win an award. The pizza was also pretty good, particularly for the price. You're not getting Tony's of North Beach or Ca' Momi, but again, it's $7 for two slices and you're in and out in 10 minutes. Great value. Do it!

Yelp
I am not a fan of red sauces and most of the pizzas I've had locally had red sauce that was too strong for me. I was a fan of Albany Pizza because they had pesto pizzas, and as I am sure you know, Albany Pizza is now just a memory. Step in iSlice pizza. Not only can I tolerate their red sauce, I get small flashbacks to growing up and having bowling alley pizza. I swear their pizza is on the level of bowling alley pizza which may not seem like a big deal, but here I am more than 30 years later having recollections of really good thin pizza like I could get at the bowling alley. For the last year or so, I have been a very happy, boring, plain, simple cheese pizza person. It was easy to order and easy to bring home. I loved those special times when we decided to pick up iSlice pizza. Tonight I was curious about what toppings I could choose. I go to the iSlice website and see that not only do they have a large selection of toppings, but they also make calzones. I can't remember the last time I had a calzone so I had to get one. It is what inspired me to write a review. I got a veggie calzone and have no complaints. It comes with red sauce on the side so I am not stuck with only white sauce in my calzone.

Dwayne H.

Yelp
Pretty solid New York style pizza in the Bay Area at a reasonable price. They even sell by the slice, for when you just need a quick bite.

Yelp
Yooooo this pizza joint right here is nothing short of spectacular. Got me munching hard. Can't wait to hit it again.

Yelp
THE THIN CRUST IS SO GOOD! This is personally the best pizza I've had in town! The staffs there are super friendly! Keep up the great work ISLICE!
google avatar

Aaron E.

Yelp
Very friendly family owned business and the service was excellent. Pizza is NY style with a thin crust. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. If you order two slices, they give you a free canned soda. They were open on New Years Day too. Happy 2023!!

Kristin M.

Yelp
So disappointing. We used to love this pizza. The crust was always the star. Today we were in the area for the first time in a while so we were so excited to get our favorite pizza. Ugh! They must have changed the crust. It's not good and it's probably frozen. There are a thousand pizzas that have this type of crust (mostly frozen pizza) and I wouldn't eat them. I guess that was my last time at iSlice. Sad. My prediction is their star reviews will start falling.
google avatar

B D.

Yelp
We've had the calzones before and there wasn't ranch in it. It was filled with creamy ricotta and mozzarella. Now they put ranch? Disgusting! The owner said she'd call Door dash for a redelivery or refund. I got nothing! Also the cannoli's used to have chocolate chips in the filling. Now it's just bland ricotta mixture. Look at the old pics of their cannoli, you see the chips, the menu picture even shows the chips! iSlice used to be a favorite. They sure have gone downhill! The quality of ingredients has downgraded big time. We won't be back!

Aayush M.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. I love the New york and the meat lover pizza slice. Great service and the place is nice.
google avatar

Elleanor P.

Yelp
Tried this out through a DoorDash offer and was surprised at how good everything tasted! My family ordered a customized 18" (came w a free cannoli) and a veggie calzone. Pizza and calzone weren't greasy and my family really liked the dough. Large portion sizes too for the price. They said the cannoli wasn't overly sweet and they'd probably only get 1 instead of 2 next time. Overall, my family would recommend the veggie calzone the most, but would go back for the pizza.
google avatar

Nora J.

Yelp
First time ordering from iSlice. I ordered a large half onion, half mushroom cheeze pizza. Pretty disappointing quality, the vegetables were sparse and weren't fresh at all and all around tasteless, the mozzarella (if it was mozzarella) didn't taste fresh and had a plastic-y texture and sheen and gooey taste. Crust was nothing to rave about, just your basic dough. Wasn't expecting anything special but it was definitely a little more than disappointing! Wouldn't order back again.
google avatar

Makena G.

Yelp
I ordered a mushroom large pizza. The $24 were higher than expected, but it was an 18 in pizza. The quality was exceptional. Love thin pizza. Highly recommend iSlice. I'll definitely return. There are 12 in pizzas...FYI. Glad I gave them a try. I'm supporting more small businesses. So far 2/2.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Best slice in california? Maybe. Definitely my favorite slice though. I grew up in jersey so trust me in pizza and bagels. I'm not saying this is the beat slice ever but they really get what pizza is all about. No frills kind of place that will fill you up and leave you with a big lazy smile as long as you have a couple dollars in your pocket. 2 slices and a can of soda for around $8 bucks is a deal. I just dig the funky energy here - it is my fave place to get a new york slice.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
I live in LA but every time I come to Berkeley i have to stop by here! Pizza is freshly made, and is so delicious !!!! Thank you for your pizza
google avatar

Alicia A.

Yelp
We love iSlice. If you want pizza like they have on the East coast (think NY, NY, Philadelphia) you will find pizza like that at iSlice. It's our goto pizza place in the area. They use fresh ingredients and the crust is superb.
google avatar

Maxwell M.

Yelp
Four stars for what it is. This was the closest to a classic, New York pizza slice that I've had in the Bay. Little greasy, cheese solid, and sauce was right amount. Again, not fancy but a solid slice. Also, make sure to get on their texting list to get 25% off your order the next time you go.
google avatar

Scarlett L.

Yelp
I have been eating at iSlice pretty regularly over the past couple of years, and I think they are absolutely the best thin crust pizza in the area. I lived in NY for 5 years before moving to the east bay, and when I saw 1Slice's signage go up advertising NY pizza, I thought 'yeah right'. But it's true! The pies are super consistent. My favorite topping combo is the New York Pizza "Traditional red sauce pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and cheese". Only tried a Pep Zone calzone once, and it was good but I didn't love it as much as the pizza. My boyfriend loved the Chicken Zone though. The people who work here are also very nice. (I hope you guys are doing well!)
google avatar

Rinky N.

Yelp
Disappointing. Got a vegetarian slice and soda for there. With tax and tip it came out to be $8.50. The pizza was mediocre with very few vegetables. There were some cheaper lunch specials for AHS students. The service was okay, not very welcoming.
google avatar

Val D.

Yelp
Quick easy and good! 2 slice and a drink deal always hits the spot! Open till 8pm on a Sunday too!
google avatar

Carmella B.

Yelp
I Tried I slice pizza for the first time today got it through DoorDash. It was very good authentic style New York style pizza. I had a salad and a slice of cheesecake all of it were fantastic the salad was so fresh and the ranch dressing was really good and the cheesecake was delicious so I think I will be definitely ordering again Update I ordered ISlice again last night still as good as the first time I ordered it.
google avatar

Saam T.

Yelp
Discovered islice recently and became our family's favorite pizza place ever since!Amazing, fresh n delicious! Our favorite is cheese, supreme pizza and the calzone! A small jewel with personable employees who look out for your wants. Its a family operated pizzeria so sometimes you can see a small 7 yrs old boy taking your orders in the counter who is very professional to his age..hmm impressive!
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza in the town! Recommend everyone to try!! Yummy Pizza. Owners are awesome with very good quick service.

Yelp
1st time ordering Islice, called in for pick up a large ny,and was intrigued by reviews and pics on yelp.got there in 15min,got home open the box and notice pizza was cold,it wasn't even warm..but still I told my self itll taste great...wrong,absolutely no flavor at all,I just tasted hard crust..it really tasted, looked and felt like a pie that sat out a bit, thought I had a new go to plc,but oh well.fyi I was only customer there,so I was hoping more effort cudve been put to it...Cheers

Yelp
Hello? Is anyone in there?! Arrived before noon and another guy was outside waiting. He removed his earphones and said "yeah, last I was here they were a tad late getting started." We both peered in and it was pitch black inside. We both walked away, although I was still able to have pizza for lunch (just a few stores down)!

Sophine L.

Yelp
Friendly service and family owned! Very popular amongst the local youth--my son's favorite pizza is the Brooklyn because of all the generous and delicious toppings!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid NY style pizza. Really struggling to find a quality NY style pizza in the Bay Area, and iSlice is the best I've been able to find so far.

Yelp
There are a few pizza places on Solano but not many on this stretch of Solano that serve pizza by the slice. Pizza by the slice is great for lots of reasons - everybody can get what they want, the pizza is ready so it's fast, etc. There are a few things I didn't like about iSlice: - Unlike many slice places, you can't see all of the available pizzas. When I asked which pizzas were ready now, they said "all of them". That didn't seem feasible at such an odd hour (mid-afternoon), and it wasn't. - When I got my pizza, it was strange. I ordered the veggie pizza and there were a bunch of veggies piled on top with a sprinkling of mozzarella melted on top. It looked as though the pizza had been made a while ago, the toppings were put on top with the cheese quickly melted. Because the pizza didn't seem to be made with the veggies originally, they didn't stick to the pizza...so all of the toppings kept falling off - A slice is pricey, about $5 for a veggie or supreme slice iSlice is fine in a pinch but there are better quick bites in the area.
