Who knew there is a little bit of paradise in the middle of Issy? You would have never known there is a quaint little vineyard along the hill had you been walking down the very busy street where the main door is for this garden. My husband was shocked at how pretty the place is and was impressed i was able to locate something like this right around the corner of our neighbourhood. What he doesn't realize is that this place is a well-known secret of Issy residents and companies often have parties here - for every good reasons! They have their own little brewery, their own little vineyard, and their own little garden. A lot of their food is plucked farm-to-table.
But the charm doesn't just rest on the prettiness of the scenery and the old farm-to-table trend, the decor and the food here is "top!". The amuse-bouche was some type of lavender cheese biscuit, its blend was surprisingly good. For starters, my husband got a fried mi-cuit fois gras that was shockingly not heavy and paired really well with their in-house confit made with house-grown figs. I got their ceviche type white fish that was plated beautifully but tasted even better. For mains, my mom had a ribeye, my husband had steak tartar, and i had a fish. My mom's steak was so good with their sauce and my husband's steak tartar came with the most delicious layered potatoes. I was not crazy about my fish with lentils, but i also couldnt figure out if it was unmemorable because i was busy trying to settle with my fussy toddler.
Is this place good for kids? Well....They have high chairs. They even have plastic wine glasses. But they don't open until 7:30pm true parisian style, and they dont serve you faster just because you have kids.
The price is really reasonable too. The starters are around 15 and the mains are around 27. For good french cuisine, it is not bad at all. It is one of my favourite places to eat now.
