The 25 Best Restaurants In Berlin - Berlin - The Infatuation

"We’ve come a long way since humans started cooking with fire 780,000 years ago. While our brow ridges, attention spans, and portion sizes have shrunk, at ITA, fire still reigns supreme. Here, the ancient cooking technique is used to char the skin of pike perch, satiating Prenzlauer Berg’s hungry residents while they get an education in Sicilian orange wine. And while “responsible,” “well-travelled,” and “fun” might be plucked from a babysitter’s resumé, the locally-sourced adventurous Latin-American-inspired menu does check all of those boxes. Sitting in the modern Helmholtzplatz space with the black stone oven looming over us from the open kitchen, we get the sense a prehistoric ancestor might pop in, pick up a spicy melon oyster from its bed of pebbles, and slurp it down before tossing a pork chop into the fire." - olivia ladanyi

Creative food, wonderful atmosphere. The hospitality here is unlike any other place I have been to in Berlin - truly unique. Don’t skip on the wine either - the staff is very knowledgeable and they have some incredible bottles on hand.

ITA surprised with a lovely and cosy atmosphere. The food is divine. I think almost everything goes through their wood powered oven. Authentic. If you like orange wine, the German one is special. A definite repeat.

ITA Bistro is a great casual fine dining place! They have an awesome natural wine list and good quality and innovative food. Still cant forget their miso corn butter and that Humita! Service is great and staff is friendly. Place is kinda small though so I recommend reservations.

Amazing place for great seasonal food and wine pairings with a unique taste in Prenzlauer Berg. From the menu to the interior design the place is carefully curated around the wood fire oven, where most of the dishes are made. The high quality ingredients in beautifully arranged, well thought combinations, the open kitchen atmosphere, on point music and excellent service made our night at Ita unforgetable! We will be coming back for sure! ❤️

Lovely spot on Helmholtzplatz with an open kitchen and a wood fired oven. Seasonal menu made for sharing with a Latin American twist. Friendly team and not pushy to order more! We loved the tuna tartare with watermelon, Summer Tomatoes salad, crispy corn tlayuda, grilled zucchini with napa cabbage, and the roasted chicken with mole with soft tortillas. Free tap water is a nice touch. Would happily come back.

Atmosphere is very welcoming, the food is surprising, and the wine list is exceptional. Staff is kind and help complete the whole experience. The unique Ita is perfect for a date or dinner with friends. It’s worth waiting for a table at this place. I also want to highlight the relax, competent & friendly service from Luca which made us want to come back!

I visited ITA Bistro recently with a friend. We walked in without a reservation and were seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise. We chose the chef’s sharing menu, which offered a good cross-section of the kitchen’s style. The sashimi-style starter was a standout. It was bright, clean, and lifted by a citrusy sauce that really worked. A clear highlight. Other dishes didn’t quite land. The egg salad on potato felt flat and forgettable. The spiral rotolo with goat cheese and pine nuts was fussy and overthought, more style than substance. The roast pork with chimichurri brought things back on track. The meat was perfectly cooked and the sauce was excellent, but the dish needed something like bread or tacos to do justice to that beautiful sauce. Dessert was an upscale dulce de leche with marshmallow cream, and it was great. Sweet, smooth, and nicely balanced. Service was prompt and friendly. The wine recommendation was also solid. Overall, a good experience with clear potential, even if not every plate delivered.
